Everytime I see videos or posts about indie animation, I'm a little more sad that people seem to completely gloss over 'Tales of Alethrion', despite them being at it for ten years now and having completely set the high standard for indie anim on Youtube back in the day.

Anyway if you care about indie animation, this is your sign to go watch the episodes now and spread the word about this forgotten masterpiece - especially since a new ep is apparently in the works...

Introducing: The Tales of Alethrion Marathon!

When introducing the series to new eyes it is not always easy to have a full overview of the storylines and the release order. SO! We’ve tried to make things a bit easier with the first ever compilation video of all the tales!

It’s our take on an epic greatest hits album featuring everything from our favorite artist - ourselves 😁✌️ This is the order in which we would watch the entire series - that is not to say that this is the only or best way - feel free to watch and hear just as you want!

The end of the Kickstarter campaign for season 3 is also near!! 🫣 We hope this compound of a video inspires you to compile the energy for a final sprint effort into getting us to the next stretch goal.

We know it’s a lot - so thank you for the all the help and emotional support you’ve already provided 🫶

Indie animators who came before Viv: Betsy Lee (created a very compelling anthro fantasy series with great chara designs/arcs called “No Evil” based on Aztec/Mayan mythology), Mikkel Mainz and Kenneth Ladekjer (created the epic “Tales of Alethrion”, a multigen animated fantasy adventure with very amoral heroes) and Studio Heartbreak (about to debut the highly-anticipated “The Lovers”, a futuristic tragic fantasy about a sushi chef who falls in love with a mermaid)

Hi, I'm Patrick/Fig, a blank slate character the audience can project onto!

Though it was ten years ago I started this blog, it is only today that I'm getting around to making a proper intro post.

My icon is from my kickstarter cameo in Tales of Alethrion. Hilariously, they made me tall.

This used to be a Homestuck fantroll RP blog way back when, but these days I mostly talk about Touhou.

Occasionally I also post snippets of original worldbuilding from my tabletop fantasy setting, Disl-Aum.

I play Medieval 2 Total War competitively, FFXIV casually, and several other games incorrectly.

I am employed to dubious ends in the dark art of Javascript.

It is my sincerely held religious belief that cinnamon goes good with everything.

okay so first episode is pretty okay so far. it definitely gives me vibes of a typical indie pilot you'd see on youtube, like Tales of Alethrion

strong premise, strong art style, strong animation

the problem is that Genndy has... we'll say, troubles sticking the landing. hope it works this go around, he's been working on it for years
