First, the Dish Granted series was started when gold leaf burgers were novel, now it's seen as tone deaf (for obvious reasons) it should have shifted to something like interviews with people who make that kind of food or local businesses (like parmesan cheese shops in Parma, Italy) or the history of food (like talking about the history of modern Native American slavery on Californian wine vinyards). Not to mention the untapped potential of Food Fraud topics. Either shift it, or scrap it. Any data analyst or chronically online person could tell you that.

Second, why did you keep "anyone can afford $6 a month" in? Are the editors asleep at the wheel? Are they overworked? What is going on? You know damn well to not make generalizations about what people can afford. That's NEVER a good idea, especially when you KNOW (because YT gives you analytics) that most of your viewers are young (16/18-30/35 range, I'd guess) who probably, either 1, are still in school and either arent paid well/dont have jobs OR 2, arent paid well and tired of people's shit, like people who own businesses talking about "tough financial decisions." To them, Watcher isn't going to look different from the other people talking like that, because this was so sudden, with no input from fans, and in the video you hear shit like "anyone can afford [X]." To be frank, it wouldn't really matter what the amount is, because that generalization goes against the message they have stood by for years. THAT is a slap in the face.

Third, what are yall doing with the budgeting? Every artist has a right to make art that they are proud of. Every artist deserves to have their work seen if they so choose. Every artist deserves to make a living. HOWEVER, there are MANY options online when it comes to making money, especially on YT. You could get into marketing, data analysis, expanding your demographic, looking at what people are interested in right now VS what will stand the test of time (not gold leaf burgers), etc.

You have to either have these skills, develop these skills, or hire someone to do it for you. It's understandable that you would want a team behind the production, but I find +25 employees to be WAY too many people, especially in LA. Bailey Sarian has a Dark History section on her YT (and Spotify podcast) where she has hired historians to help make sure her episodes are as accurate as possible. You've caught heat before from Puppet History's missing & incorrect info, you should do the same. She has about three (3) "intermissions" per episode for ad breaks. I never see anyone complain. People WOULD listen to yall talk for that long (+1 hour videos), tbh, though that's not necessary.

(I do love that language and am trying to learn on DuoLingo but it’s hard. I’m also glad he has people to talk it with, it just leaves me unable to participate much). Also, tbh most of the conversation was suggestive jokes and joking about each other’s sex lives and as an ace person I don’t really feel comfortable with that kind of conversation particularly with people I don’t know very well. So I kinda just zoned out, and I kind of have an RBF so I guess I looked not happy to be there. Anyway, we watched a James Bond movie I wasn’t interested in so I was on my phone a lot, then I went upstairs to get ready for bed because it was almost midnight and I was tired.

After I was ready for bed, I wanted to say goodnight to the friends, however one of them had to record a video for an online class and send it in before the deadline in like an hour. So he got on the computer and went into the stairwell and his wife got on her phone and went to the kitchen so they could record the conversation and submit it. Which meant I was stuck upstairs (unless I wanted to pass the guy in the stairwell and show up on his video) and I’d have to wait for them to finish recording the call before I could go to bed. Well, I was tired so I just lay in bed and ended up falling asleep. Around the 12:45, my husband woke me up by coming into the room and turning on the light to give the friends a tour of the house and I grumpily growled “I’m asleep! Turn off the light!”

The next morning, my husband was livid at me. He said the way I treated them was horrible and rude, I wasn’t paying attention during the movie, I didn’t even say goodbye (which greetings and goodbyes are a big deal in his culture), I growled at them when they came into the room for the tour, I was “acting like a bitch” to them the whole night, and he felt like he invited them to his house only for me to act racist and like I’m better than them. I feel terrible that my actions could be perceived that way when in reality I was just tired, shy, a little grouchy because these plans were sprung on me last minute, and out of the loop (because I didn’t understand a majority of the conversation). But I think the whole cancelation and then last minute rescheduling and expecting me to be a good, present host late into the night wasn’t cool. If it had been last week, I would’ve been prepared with dinner and also mentally, since I’d be planning on hosting people. Also would’ve been nice to be made aware beforehand that we would be entertaining guests until 1 AM, so I could be planning on it.

I'm almost through season 6 of the queer EMT show and I have a couple of thoughts I really need to get off my chest.

Before I dive in I want to share an observation. It feels like there are two tiers of main ensemble cast and I'm basing this on the character development of each of them. Tier 1 feels like its Bobby, Buck and Maddie who have gone through the most dramatic character arcs, while tier 2 is Athena, Hen, and Eddie. I can't decide which group Chim is in tbh and this is hardly scientific so...

The point of all that is that everything else I'm going to say is based off my observation that Buck is more fleshed out and developed as a character than Eddie.

So now to the point!

First, Buck absolutely adores Eddie. Like is definitely 100% in love with the man. I'm only on episode 14 of season 6 so I haven't even gotten to the onscreen bi realization or the coming out scene outside of gifs on this here hell site. But currently, the way Buck looks at Eddie is so fucking heart eyed its ridiculous.

The hysteria when Eddie is in danger - the screaming at the mudslide, the absolute hard reboot at the shooting? Buck is completely beside himself at the idea of losing Eddie. He literally cries on Christopher's shoulder at the thought of losing him and Chris losing his dad.

This is not standard BFF behavior, I'm sorry.

And don't even get me started on the couch metaphor...I have too much to say about that to include it here.

But what I do want to talk about is the coma episode. Because I feel like that episode was a purposeful "no-homo" episode and here's why:

Buck is in an alternate universe and runs to Hen and Chim, sees Maddie and Bobby. But Eddie is literally just referenced once as "the angry guy" and his contribution to the entire episode is to bring Christopher to see Buck while hes unconscious. Which is weird!

Yes, Eddie rescued Buck and yes he tells the medical team to do better than their best, but compared to Buck literally hauling Eddie's limp body into an ambulance? It's a pretty vanilla response.

And then he doesn't show up in alternate Bucks reality. This is, i believe, one part writers trying to no homo the thing and one part writers implying that Eddie and Chris are a replacement for Bucks "real family" which undermines the entire guardian arc in a very weird way. So it definitely seems, during s6 at least, that Buddie was flat out not happening (again...I'm on e14 only).

So if Buck is in love with Eddie through narrative and acting choices (based on recent PR from Oliver S implying hes lowkey played Buck queer) where is Eddie at? What gives?

I'll tell you what gives.

Eddie is the most repressed motherfucker on the planet. Eddie goes to a call involving a vibrator getting stuck in a woman and he barely clocks that's what's happening.

This man has only had missionary sex for the purpose of baby making and it shows. I have definitely HC'd that Eddie is demi but he's also just locked down so tight. No wonder he spent a whole season beating the crap out of random strangers in illegal fights!

So, what's my point?

My POINT is this. Eddie may be queer underneath all that repression, but he has no idea. None. Zero. Zip. Eddie thinks he can't find a wife and mother for Christopher because he's BROKEN, not because he's maybe just not that into women.

And yes, Buck coming out might give him a clue. Tommy being gay might show him something he hasn't really seen in terms of what a gay man looks like. But that Catholic guilt ridden man has a LONG way to go before he will confess to the fact that he wifed up his bisexual BFF because of non-platonic reasons.

We'll see how the story pans out. But anyone who thinks season 7 is going to end in a Buddie romance is likely incredibly wrong. I mean I haven't seen the episodes yet. So give me a week. But it seems unlikely. Eddie's character is in a very different place than Buck.

Doesn't mean these two don't live together in marital bliss rent free in my head though 😜

I have to say it, I can not stay silent any longer! Shenhe is one of the best characters for neurodivergent creator.

Just hear me out! Not only is also plagued with feeling like she's stuck between two worlds(being a human that was forced out of society and now has to ingrain herself back into society after living away from it for so long), her way of thinking and speech are perfect for someone who's neurodivergent(she's probably neurodivergent herself). She's VERY direct. You always know what you're gonna get from her. I'd be refreshing, especially after that awkward 'just became friends' stage.

Also Shenhe's like. One of the best bodyguards you could have, in any context. She's SUPER strong and quick, and she, technically, can follow you anywhere. Unlike Ganyu and Cyno(Who have high maintenance jobs) or Xiao(Who has a certain duty stopping him from leaving), there isn't anything keeping her in Liyue. I guess there's the chance of her red ropes breaking...but that's something she's been working hard on since she met the traveler. It's something she can work on with you. Plus, traveling with a partner might be good, for both the you and Shenhe. You get a friend who can protect you, and she also gets afriend, and crowd exposure therapy. Win-win honestly.

I might have put to much effort into this, but I need to talk about Shenhe and your ask box was closed. Your work is amazing by the way! It never fails to make me laugh or smile, so keep it up! You're doing great!

Giyu set his phone down his desk. He only needed 20-ish more minutes before he can clock out. He didn't respond to your message for a good 2 minutes because, what are pads? He looked around his surroundings, making sure no one was looking. With so, he went onto google to search 'pads.' He'll admit, you occasionally bring up being on your period every month but he didn't want to question the whole process so he left it at that. But now he had to go buy some.. pads? Oh his cheeks were clearly a light shade of pink, embarrassed he even had to search up such a thing. Nonetheless, he knew if he did this once it wouldn't be such nerve-racking. He'll know the next time.

"Oh Tomioka, DO NOT get those." a voice behind his ear scoffed, Giyu turned to see a smirk forming on his lips.

"What?" He questioned the other, "I said don't get those. The ones you're looking at are far too big. Look, it says overnight." Giyu turned his back at his phone and realized, 'fuck.'

"Well.. I don't know what size she is.."

A loud laugh left the other boy lips. "SIZE? You're joking Tomio. C'mon you been with y/n for how long and you still haven't bought her pads?" Giyus head shook, he quickly realized that this is something he should know. After all, he listens to you complain how uncomfortable it is sometimes. "No Sanemi. I have not. Care to help since you know so much?"

Sanemi shook his head with a wide grin at the foolish boy. "Nope. I would love to see you get this wrong."

Giyu rolled his eyes and turned the opposite side to continue scrolling, he just sighed. He only needed 10 more minutes and he can just make a quick stop at the store to buy you what you asked.

His shift was over, it was time. Time to buy pads.

Y/n: Hey baby, can you get the overnight ones too if you can? Giyu: Of course. See you soon.

He shoved his phone in his pocket, tugging at his tie in nervousness. He was infront of what seem to endless counts of pads. He read each one he can carefully. Soon enough, he found a pack he recalled he might've seen once at home. It was risky but he grabbed it. Along with the one he saw online, the overnight ones. 'It'll do.'

Giyu: On my way love. Y/n: I made dinner before we leave for tonight's party. :))

Giyu thumbs up the message and drove off back home. To you, where he can sigh in relief he managed to buy you pads. In hopes he didn't fuck up. Through the whole car ride, he swore he'd listen to you explain what the fuck pads, a period, everything! he cursed under his breath as he thought of what Sanemi told him earlier, "That damn asshole."

he comes home with a bag, placing it on the table and calling out your name.

you knew what you did. purposely sent him out to buy pads knowing he knew NOTHING of it.

while he was worried, you were clearly in excitement to see what he bought.

To your surprise- he bought both of what you use.

You hug and thank him, that was all he need to sigh a relief.

He managed to do it all himself without the help of his annoying coworker.

He plants a kiss on your head and whispers, "lets go get ready love."

With that, you both arrived at Kyojuros party. :)

Sorry for not being very active on here

Just wanted to give an update because a lot has been going on with me and I haven’t even had the time or energy to think about writing or being on this blog because of everything lol.

So, I recently got into a car wreck on the 14th on my way to work. Some guy was trying to make a left turn into the neighborhood I live in on the highway and his engine stalled and (even though he saw me coming and knew that his 20+ year old car had engine problems) he pulled out in front of me to cross but because his engine stalled he didn’t make it and I crashed into him. I’m okay btw!!! Luckily and thankfully I only made it out with a bruised leg, but my car is in bad shape and is most likely totaled because the engine went out after the crash and I couldn’t move my car out of the road nor could I even get out of my car from the driver’s side, I had to escape from the passenger side.

So…yeah, there’s that and I’ve been dealing with a lot of mental health issues because my work has been overworking me and pushing me to my limit and I’m honestly getting really tired of giving my all and breaking my back for this store and getting nothing out of it, like not even a raise (when I asked for one they said it was “being processed by corporate” and apparently this raise has been in the works for me since December so…I don’t think I’ll be getting a raise any time soon tbh and even if I did get a raise it probably wouldn’t be enough to keep me there). Like, just last Wednesday I had a stressed induced illness because I was so burnt out from work and worried about stuff that it made me physically ill so (for the first time ever in 1 year of working at that store) I called out sick (and then that same week I got into the wreck so that was great).

I’m currently working on finding a new job because what I’m dealing with now is getting ridiculous and I honestly really want to be on here and talk to you guys and make posts like I used to, but I feel like I can’t anymore because of life and that sucks. Legit, my boss is making me work 35 hours this week (AFTER MY CAR WRECK 😑) even though she knows what I’m dealing with right now and knows how overworked I am. She had the nerve to say “I don’t want to overwork you” as she adjusted my schedule for the 3rd time because someone who is CONSTANTLY calling out in the store (and they refuse to fire her for some reason AND there’s another employee that’s going to be out all month) can’t come to work for the rest of this week so I have to cover for her. Oh yeah…and you know what else??? I have to train a new employee on top of all of that. I’m not a manager. I’m not even full time. I don’t get vacation time or sick days or paid holidays (even though we literally only get 2 holidays off and that’s Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day, so not that it even matters anyways) or any kind of benefits. And I don’t get paid extra for training new hires. It’s ridiculous. My boss even asked if I felt comfortable training a new employee after what I’ve gone through with the wreck and how stressed I am (which I respect) and I told her no because I really am dealing with a lot and don’t need the stress of training someone on top of that, yet here I am so…I’m just tired of being a doormat for this company and letting them treat me like a workhorse. It was fine at first because I needed the money (and I still do), but the lack of sympathy after the wreck and being so overworked and stressed that I became physically ill is concerning and I think it’s a sign that I need to move on and find something else.

So yeah, sorry for the rant there but I just wanted to share what I’m dealing with and what I’m going through. Like, I still have stuff at home I have to deal with too and financial issues (and getting in a car wreck certainly doesn’t help that at all), so yeah. I have an interview tomorrow for a job that would really be beneficial to me and would be a perfect fit for me and I’m really hoping and praying I get the job because it’s would just help me so much and it’s such a good job!

Anyways, I know I share updates a lot, but I realized I haven’t really been active on here and I just wanted to share why and kinda release some tension because I’m really going through it lol.

Touhou 1 HRtP Konngara and Shingyoku vibing

Took me a whole week to make it, this is my "big" drawing for 2023

I wanted to draw something pink and bright and cute :) even if theyre in Jigoku there. Its a rare garden of the pc98 Jigoku idk.

I probably put too much time and effort making content of touhou characters nobody cares about in the west. "But OP i do care" then PLEASE invade my DMs idk because im lonely and I want to actually talk about HRtP with other people who like it thank you very much.

Answering already some questions that I got on other places:

"Is Konngara a guy here?" Yes he is. I always thought of the character as male since the first time I played HRtP (my 1st Touhou game) years ago. I know Touhou is known as "girls only party" but HRtP has no canon and characters like Sariel and Konngara are pretty ambigeous so its up to anyones preferences and I wont change my mind.

"Why is Konngara so white" He is wearing kabuki makeup, which is overall my main influence for my take on the design. The sprite always gave me the samurai guy meets dramatic kabuki actor vibes. I also think it makes him stand out and be more unique, not an average swordsman that can be confused with TH2 Meira, especially being a final boss.

"Any reason why picking miko Shingyoku over the other?" Yes, but rather silly reasons. Shingyoku is my favorite Touhou character overall, but I prefer the priest form, for the main reason that I find the design of the miko kind of messy (speaking of the sprite). It always requires me to do some changes when drawing her. For this reason, I tend to neglect her/draw the priest form more. So I picked her for a bit of change. I also really wanted to draw some ruffles and lace when I started this drawing lol

"Is this ship art?" Yes and no, it depends on you. I do ship Konngara/Shingyoku, its one of my rare touhou ships, but I believe they can 100% be seen as just friends here. I imagined a whole story for these two, and theyre rivals first before becoming close friends then lovers.

"Damn you ship them, Konngara stole the miko from the priest" No. I depict Shingyoku as a kami with shapeshifting as their main ability, so both the miko, priest and yin yang orb forms are the same person. And ill be very honest, im growing tired of the "2 distinct people" take especially since most of the time its not deepened at all, it ditches the yin yang orb form and theyre literally just called "Shin" and "Gyoku". I might sound a bit bitter here and Im sorry, reddit touhou community has been draining me as of late tbh.

ALRIGHT. LETS GO. LIST OF CHARACTERS IN THAT RIDICULOUS MONSTER OF THE WEEK HERO AND VILLAINS STORY I GOT SO WE CAN GET SOME NAMES FOR EM

PLEASE send me names for these guys cause im dying just referring to them by titles

i didn't want to just go "villain 1, villain 2," so i assigned them colours

we'll start with the ones in the polyam relationship and then do the other characters

Our Hero!! think more magical girl themed than DC Comics. he/him pronouns, transformation item is a butterfly hairclip (and most attacks have a butterfly theme) (the butterfly specifically is a Red Lacewing). In civilian form his hair is purple and his eyes are blue, while in hero form his hair is blonde and his eyes are red. He is SO tired and stressed, but it's only visible in civilian form (aka he's got dark shadows under his eyes and his hair looks like it hasn't seen a brush in months). He goes to university, and works in a tea shop beside the university. Due to an incident early on in which a monster of the week caused him to temporarily be split into two people, since his brain couldn't handle the double perspective of information, he does have another personality- they're basically the same for the most part, but the other him only takes control when he's really stressed out (in the middle of a hard battle, or in the middle of a difficult exam). He's basically just slightly more serious overall. It's harder to surprise him and stuff like that.

Pink Villain!!! tbh he's the funnest one to me. he/him pronouns. when i say pink i mean PINK. symbol is a heart and the monsters he summons cause physical effects. he can drain energy, and give energy to people via kisses (does not need to be on the lips). (the more power he stores, the longer his hair gets). he's just a silly guy, he's having fun with this. the first one to figure out the hero's secret i.d. Actually he knows WAY more than he should. he's like, the secret keeper. he Knows Things. keeps a piece of the Hero's energy that he took early on stored in a locket.

Blue Villain! ???/??? Pronouns (any pronouns). symbol is a teardrop, and the monsters they summon cause psychological effects. nobody knows SHIT about them. not even what they look like, they wear one of those like- hats with a veil so their face and hair is completely covered. (well. i say no-one knows- Pink Villain actually does, but only cause he goaded them into kissing him once.) They don't tend to talk a lot either. In reality they're just shy- and also the only one to have a civilian form. They also attend the university the Hero goes to, albeit they look completely different.

TECHNICALLY she could also be called Pink Villain but for the sake of not confusing people, Yellow Villain!! she/her pronouns. her colour scheme is actually mainly pink but there's enough yellow in there for her to be called this. her symbol is a lightning bolt, and the monsters she summons affect nature itself. arguably the most powerful of the villains excluding the Big Bad. she has an electrified whip, btw. the coolest person here by far. she's the only one capable of one-upping Pink Villain. also the only one that goes into the tea shop to actually get tea and NOT chat with the hero (looking at you Pink Villain).

Okay!! That's the polyam gang!! now. other characters.

The Science Team- there's like, a bunch of people included here, but only two of them are really important. They're on the hero's side, they help him figure out the weaknesses of the monster of the week and all that, but they're also constantly trying to figure out who the hero is. He's close enough with two of them to consider them to be friends, and the team has narrowed down what university he's going to, but not who he is. Funnily enough, the two he's closest to actually started working at the same tea shop he does in order to like, get Info, but they don't suspect him in the slightest.

Purple-Blue Villain, a 16 year old girl who was brainwashed by the big bad at the very beginning of the series. She doesn't have a symbol, nor does she summon monsters. Her main job is to act as a spy on the science team- since she's the daughter of one of them.

The Big Bad, a ruler from another dimension who's big on the idea of having another dimension bend to his will. The Hero's butterfly hairclip actually was brought into this world by him, but he accidentally lost it during portal travel. He brought the other villains here with him as his "trusted generals".

Hero's Clone, he/they pronouns, initially created by the Big Bad just for, yknow, the typical "lets clone the hero" reasons. Was highly unstable and dripping black goo everywhere. After being stabilized, the only differences between him and the hero are that one of his eyes is pink, and the tips of his hair is pink. After stabilization, the hero has him stay with the villains, cause he doesn't trust the science team to NOT try to experiment on them, but he DOES trust the villains to be able to effectively hide them from their boss. sometimes gets involved with plans as the hero's body double to confuse people.

My friends, idk how, but im gonna figure out a way to share my final presentation with you guys for a class after I finish it. Because I'll be damned if I'm gonna be this passionate about this thing, do all the research, make a ppt AND cardboard tri-fold, and present this at a "Research Symposium" for 2 hours to whoever stops at my booth during finals week to not share with the people I like most 😤

Basically for the project we have to take a person or event and give background on them before analyzing them through a Social Psychology lense (bc the class is social psychology lol). AND GODS DO I LOVE SHIT LIKE THISSSSS. fun fact about me: i once spent 2 - 3 months for free in a student house in toronto while staying with my then gf. everyone entering the building had to just sorta flash their student card at the guy standing by the door as they passed. so she gave me an old student card of hers and only on the exact last day did we get caught cheating the system – and we managed to bullshit our way out of it by saying i'd only been there for a week and we didn't know about the guest pass rules and limits ( smth like 'guests need a guest pass and can only stay for 3 days at most' or smth ). Vil would definitely be a full size poodle. Very intelligent, and gorgeous! He enjoys having changes to his coat cut, from the poofy style to even lion cuts! As a hunting breed, he also has a lot of energy, and adores his exercise. Needs his schedule on time, if you don’t feed him on time he starts pouting, and huffing. Doesn’t like getting dirty, but loves baths. He may have sensitive skin honestly. Poodles tend to have thinner skin, gets cut easily when running around, soVil avoids running around, getting dirty because of that.

Rook is a fox hound, full of energy, and a bit independent. They’re kinda the dogs who will bolt out the door and return hours later with like five catches, and somehow money? They’re a tougher breed, though sensitive to the cold. They can be great agility dogs, fast, precise, and when they want to they’re great listeners. It just depends if they feel like behaving.

Epel is a yorkie, everyone thinks they’re cuties, soft and small forgetting they’re also a hunting breed! Yorkies have attitudes, and can be aggressive, with a tendency to small dog syndrome (they want to be the alpha with everyone, including their people) but they’re loving dogs to their people. They’re surprisingly tough little dogs, and adapt great to most living spaces as long as they get their exercises.

All hunting dogs that need their exercise or they get bored and find something to do. It’s worst with Epel, but Rook can get pretty crazy when cooped up for too long. Vil is the most well behaved, but he usually finds something to do that is okay. Vil I feel lOVES his praise, so he is the dog who is trying to copy you and be helpful! Puts his toys away by himself! Rook is an escape artist, can probably leap the fence, needs to be watched like a hawk! Vil can escape, but he does it only to go grab Rook, and Epel, dragging them back by their ears!

the three of them living together is pure chaos rook is constantly dirty and epel is too and they make vil dirty which makes vil mad which ends up with rook and epel hurt because angry vil is TERRIFYING, then vil goes to you wincing and demands all of your love and attention and spills their food on the floor. yes praise vil if u don't he'll start misbehaving he deserves it hes the only one keeping this house together if he's honest. rook being a terrible influence to epel is real and its terrible to you and vil because epel is small and not as fast as rook so he CAN get hurt unlike rook sighs what troublesome little guys vil sits by ur side as u scold rook and epel and dooms them to no treats for a week

“So what’s happening today?” Skye asked you over the phone as you exited your apartment.

“Darius and I are supposed to meet up to discuss the trip and everything. It’s supposed to be a getting-to-know-you type of thing.” You said walking towards the stairs. You were kind of nervous, not gonna lie. Your hands were jittery, you had to take a couple of deep breaths. Since AEW was in your hometown of Chicago, Darius thought it would be a good idea to meet up today before leaving for Minnesota tomorrow.

“I think this a great opportunity for you to gain a new friendship,” Willow said in the background. To be honest, you were a little secluded backstage, despite being in such a social position. You literally did most of the makeup and face paint of AEW Stars. It’s not that you hated talking to people, you were just a little more introverted than most (so yeah you hated people). But some people made their goals to befriend you like Skye and Willow. Others gradually got to get to know you like The Lads (Hook, Andretti, Dante, and Anthony).

With Darius, it was different. Due to his injury and his move to ROH, you never really got to know him. But he was sweet and nice all the times you talked to him. You got his number as an emergency contact with The Lads.

“I guess. But, why did he ask you again? You guys don’t even talk that much or know each other.”

You sighed, “He said it because he doesn’t want feelings to get involved and that I was the only girl who won’t make him feel uncomfortable in this scenario.” Pausing, you stopped in the stairwell. With your voice echoing, “I don’t know though guys, I think I’m gonna back out, this might be too much.” You would feel bad for backing out of your word, but at the same time, it might be too much to do something like this for a person you barely know.

“But what about the Top Flight hoodie? That’s such a fire hoodie though!” Willow exclaimed.

“Yeah, but I can make it myself or I can just buy it. No biggie.” You turned around to start climbing the stairs and go back to your room.
 “If you say so.” Skye drifted off, before making a sound. “Oh! Cole Karter asked about you today.”

You stopped and tilted your head in annoyance. “Again?”

“Mm-hmm, he was wondering how he should approach you for a date.” For the past three weeks, Cole has been hinting at asking you out and trying to form a relationship with you. Cole was a handsome man, and very talented indeed, another AEW wrestler. However, he was a douche. The way he acted towards others was a major turn-off for you. But no matter what you said to him, he would never take no for an answer. “Y/N! I got an idea.”

“Listening…”

“If you go fake date Darius, not only would that help him, it could help you get rid of Cole!” Skye said excitedly.

Willow chimed back in. “And ask yourself, who would you rather date? Darius or Cole?”

Your eyes shifted around as you turned yourself around once more and went down the stairs. “Y’all ain't gotta say another word.”

— Time Skip: 2 Hours Later —

“So then, Dante jumped but underestimated how far the table was and just hit the floor,” Darius said, making you laugh. “He couldn’t eat for like two days.”

“I know he was pissed!” You exclaimed, laughing even more.

So far, you’ve been on this “date” with Darius for an hour, and thus far it’s been pretty great. Granted, there were still some awkward silences (like right after you two finished giggling), but you were still having some fun. You two have been getting to know each other, telling each other stories, you’ve been enjoying each other’s company so much that you forgot the original reason why you guys met up.

“Y/N, thanks again for agreeing to do this,” Darius said

You shrugged it off. “It’s literally no problem! Beneficial for both of us, besides I need to get out of the house anyways. So what do my duties consist of?”

“It’s so simple. We act like we’re in love, fool everyone, and leave. Afterward, I’ll just tell them that something happened and we broke up but we are still good friends.”

“And we leave tomorrow?” Darius nodded. “I know that’s gonna be a long drive.”

“Dante and I will be switching halfway, so everything will be fine,” Darius said. After he said that, a brief awkward pause entered the space. At this point, it was expected as, again, you were getting to know each other. “Also, be prepared for a lot of questions. My family is very nosey and loves to try to get every detail as possible, and they’ll try to see if we like each other.”

“What kind of questions will they ask?”

“It ranges. They’ll be like extremely invasive like ’Oh, what did you guys do on your 3-month anniversary? And if someone said this to me how you would respond?’ or they’ll be very basic like ‘What’s my favorite color?’ Again, they range.”

You took in the information as a lightbulb went off in your head. You don’t even know basic information about your supposed ‘boyfriend’. “So what is your favorite color?”

Darius’s face dropped as he realized that despite exchanging simple stories, you didn’t know anything about each other. He chuckled as his face created a small smile. “Blue, specifically, royal blue. What about yours?” You told him yours as his smile grew, “That’s a pretty color for a pretty girl.” Blushing, you started to tell him more basic information about yourself.

And soon, those awkward silences were filled with laughs and flirty banter. From here, it can only get better….

ANIMES I'VE WATCHED - WINTER 2023

I'm going to make these from now on, just for fun. This is about the animes I've watched this season, my short opinion and my rate on each. This is just my personal opinion.

DROPPED SHOWS: Tomo-chan is a Girl! (2 eps), The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Collegue (3 eps) and Kaina of The Great Snow Sea (1 eps).

First, let me be clear that none of these shows are bad. I will not rate them, coz I don't think it's fair since I've watched less than 3 episodes of each.

Tomo-chan was funny, but after 2 episodes it just felt generic to me. Ice Guy is a super pretty show and rly cute, but I just got bored and not rly invested to want to know more. Kaina, idk. Obviously the CGI animation can't be compared to Trigun Stampede, but it's not by any means bad. It wasn't the animation that made me drop the show, it simply did not hooked me at all, and after the first episode I completely forgot about it. Let me know if you think I should give them a second try.

Now here are the animes I've finished and my ratings for each (in no particular order). Beware for a few spoilers!

High Card

This one was good, but tbh, I couldnt really connect with any of the characters in the show. I actually enjoyed the episodes where it was just dumb fun with getting to see new characters and their weird powers, more than the episodes with actual plot. So the whole thing with Chris at the end, didnt rly appeal to me much, I felt like I barely new anything about him to actually care. Would I watch it again? Probably not, but I did enjoy it and will most likely give S2 a try.

Rate on MAL: 7/10 (Good)

Bonus: Favorite ED this season.

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale

I didn't expect to like this show as much as I did. I assumed I would lose interest quickly like it happened to Ice Guy and Cool Colleague. But the show, aside from being visually super pretty, have a nice (even if not the most creative) premisse and I rly liked the characters. It was one of the few anime that I was actually excited to watch a new episode every week. The only downside for me, is that the plot became repetitive halfway through. Ann gets screwded over by others, coz she is a girl and they are jealous of her talent. That made it get quite tiring near the end. But I am still excited for S2 and I hope the plot moves on a bit more.

Rate on MAL: 8/10 (Very Good).

In/Spectre S2

Tbh, I feel like this show might be better in manga form than anime. Because there's A LOT if talking. This season (so far) did not have much of a plot, more like 3-4 episodes arcs, that you can watch in random order and it will not affect the experience at all. I like the puzzles and the mystery, but thats about it. I actually waited for each arc to end and watched those episodes on a row, rather than watch weekly. I didnt have to force myself to watch the show and I quite enjoyed each arc. But I wouldnt rewatch it, specially since I know the answer to the mysteries now.

Rate on MAL: 6/10 (Fine).

Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari

Went into this one completely blind. I actually kinda loved it. Unlike other shows that I started losing interest by the end, with this one I started to enjoy more as it went. The first episode gave the impression that it would be just another dumb shounen. I didnt expect the romance and actually rly liked it. The characters are very endearing, and it was refreshing seeing a MC that started as an edgelord and turned out to be a complete awkward dork instead of the other way around. Whats so funny to me is that practically nothing big happened by the final episode. It started as classic shounen and kinda ended like a Slice of Life. Would watch it again, and will definitely check out if theres a S2, since it's clear this was just the beginning of the story.

Revenger

Another show I went in completely blind and enjoyed it... for like half the show. Would not rewatch it. It's okay, I'm not big on historical shows, but it was interesting for most of it. To be honest, I would have rated this show higher, wasn't for the last episode. If tristamp had the best finale of this bunch, this show had the worst.

(Major spoilers ahead)

There was a whole lot of complicated built to the finale only for it to be SUPER BORING. The villain was so generic and during the entire show he was like this super smart guy, always one step ahead of the heroes... only to die in the dumbest way possible. Seriously he literally standed in front of the guy trying to kill him and say "hey come on join me" and got murdered. And then there was this whole thing during the entire show about having the main dude, forgive himself and find another reason to live and whatever. It kept building up and then in the last moment he was just still depressed and got killed by a character that appeared like twice and they never explained why the kid even did that or why he was so angry at him to begin with. Look, I'm all for sad endings and stuff, but this one just felt like the ending basically made half of the show's point completely useless.

Buddy Daddies

This one was great! Very wholesome. It was a lot of fun, but also with some quite good drama. Not gonna lie, I teared up more than once. I expected it to be just dumb comedy, but it turned out to have quite the right amount of fluff and angst. A lot of people expected it to be SpyxFamily Gay Edition, but thats not it. I do have to say though... probably unpopular opinion, but I do NOT like Miri. Honestly she annoyed me to no end. Which makes her more realistic as a kid I guess. Do not go into this if you are expecting some homoerotic tension between the two guys. It's not about that, it's about found family for all parts involved and it's absolutely wholesome. I'll definitely rewatch it some day. Highly recommend.

To Your Eternity S2

Aw man this is hard. I absolutely adored the first season, it have probably the most beautiful first episode of all anime. Unfortunately... S2 did not do it for me. I desperately wanted to love the show as much as I did the first season, but it just didn't happen. By the end of the season, I felt detached from it and also disappointed. It didn't give that rush of feelings from season 1, and by the last couple episodes I felt like all the things about loosing people were thrown in the trash with all the revivals. The big reunion was kinda boring too, I was so excited for it, and yet it was just, meh. There were definitely some great highlights, but overall this season was incredibly inferior to S1 imo.

Trigun Stampede

Listen. LISTEN! If you follow my blog you know. But listen. This show! I'll say it right now: Anime of the Year. Haven't hyperfixated on anything this hard since Banana Fish.

No, I did not watch Trigun, I tried years ago and dropped after like 3 episodes for a bunch of reasons that I''ll not gonna go into rn. Tbh the main reason I decided to watch Stampede was over the visuals. I am a big fan of Studio Orange. I find their shows visually beautiful and just really pleasing to the eyes (where's my Houseki no Kuni S2, Orange!??), and I was instantly attracted to it when I watched the trailer. So I hopped on the first episode for the eyegasm.

But boy, oh boy this show is gorgeous. After the first episode I was hooked solely for the visual experience and the fun ride. By episode 3 I was hooked by the plot, and by episode 4 (with Wolfwood's introduction), I was in love with the characters.

I love the visuals, the designs, the story, the music, everything. Some of the changes people complained about werent actually changed, just postponed (which I theorized would happen halfway through the show), and some of the stuff that is actually different from the 1998 anime are actually the things I did not like in Trigun 98. And thats just a personal preference. But I do think that the fact I didn't watch the 98 show as a kid (it wasnt even released in my country) gave me the opportunity to fully enjoy Stampede without nostalgia getting in the way and clouding my opinion on it. I'll say that I agree that the pacing was quite fast, but I also understand why Orange and Kenji Muto did that, specially after we realized this entire season was a prequel. I do hope S2 slow down the pace a little bit.

But guys. The finale. Holy shit. The finale. I was rendered speechless. The final episode alone was a masterpiece. That's how you raise the bar on how to do a finale. The second cour of 86 had an AMAZING finale, but this here was something else. The animation was stunning, the music (ohmygod the scene they fell from the tower holy shit, when Vash's wing appeared), everything was absolutely incredible.

This was the show I couldnt wait for a new episode. This was the show I kept rewatching the episodes over and over while waiting for the next. And every time I did, I would find a new detail that I didn't notice in the previous watchs. Look, preferences aside, it is crystal clear how much love and passion was put into this show. From the gorgeous animation, to the character's expressions, to the small details everywhere, to the way the studio's staff interacted with the fans on twitter, this show was put together with a lot of effort, passion and thought.

I can say right now that Trigun Stampede easily became one of my favorite shows of all time, and this is coming from someone who have been watching animes for over 20 years. I'm not really planning to try watching Trigun 98 again, but I am planning on starting the manga, specially since I already got spoiled about some big events.

Bonus: Favorite OP of the season.

Anime of the Year for me 100%. I do not see any anime taking Tristamp's place, not even SnK's finale, and this is coming from an originally SNK obssessed blog. Thats how much Tristamp impacted me.
