Is this secret other thing about how when going to the Feywild and back, you need to pass a wisdom check to see if you remember the trip? (You don't have to confirm or deny this, I just wanted to share my theory)

Also augh their faces in this one were such a gut punch! Incredible work once again! That little bit of mouth squiggle in the last panel make it look like they're in the beginning stages of 'trying not to cry, but that was almost a big upheaval for me'

Unfortunately, it's not that entrenched in actual Feywild lore. When they were younger, Croissant traded a memory to a hag in exchange for something. They assumed (and were assured) it wouldn't be anything too significant, but it ended up being the entire memory and concept of their childhood best friend. I keep waffling on whether or not I'll draw this, but if I decide not to, I'm sure I'll elaborate on it later.

honestly feel like you can't fully understand why the nhl functions the way it does unless you have an in-depth understanding of american conservatism specifically. like. the nhl is run by a collection of people who function on conservative nostalgia, purposeful obtuseness, and a direct opposition to progressivism. they're the type of american traditionalists who think that we should go back to the good old days when people respected their elders and didn't think too hard about things like civil rights or what equity actually means. they believe in a homogenous culture of assimilation and obedience, and they rely on the people within that culture to perpetuate it via mutual surveillance. it's what the wealthy white american right has always been, especially since wwii and the cold war after it. and it's what the nhl has always been. it's a culture that is determined to keep itself locked away in the 1980s while the world around it evolves, and as it grows farther removed from the world it exists in, the more reactionary it gets. it's fucking. every 70 year old republican senator who refuses to step down until they keel over dead in congress. that's it. that's all.

in a more just world there would be no more male characters and the female characters would be as diverse as them. in a just world a female character would be a 197cm tall bald lying secretive corpse-desecrator who would attack her childhood friend and almost-adopted-sister on sight, spitting in her face that it was she who slept by their mentor's feet like a dog. in a just world a female character would be a vaguely futchy¹ bipolar alcoholic who tries to self-immolate in front of you, participated in a colleague's murder with her sister (or did she?), delirious from guilt, illness and drink (and it NOT being the "sexualized crazywoman" trope. because she'd be worse), whose sister would be protective of her like a rabid dog. in a just world a female character could be a brown-eyed brunette in a tacky snakeskin coat, arrogant, haughty until circumstances beyond her comprehension break her spirit, able and willing to tell someone that if they're that much of a pussy about killing themself she'll fucking help. in a just world a female character could be butcher [as in the cutter of meat.], daughter of butcher, feared for her perceived violence but not more wicked than any other, collecting organs and keeping them in her little pouch.

In the blue flashback, Tenzō stands with his back to a glass tank. He is narrating: "While I didn't like the lab, I wasn't scared inside it. My emotion's felt quiet." "Distant." "It was like they weren't there at all." A small red panel shows Kakashi looking down at Tenzō quietly. "...I see," he says. Beneath that, a small red panel of Tenzō where his body is now, he keeps his head turned down and away, as if ashamed. "It was only after returning to Konoha...that my body began to quake and shudder," he explains. The fourth panel shows Rabbit-Taichō telling Tenzō "You look like you're gonna be sick, Cat. Go to the hospital. Make sure that wound isn't infected." And Tenzō responds "Yessir." A Narration-box from Tenzō rests above the fifth and sixth panels. "But I couldn't stomach the thought of the hospital..." it says. The fifth panel shows Tenzō with his feet braced on the apex of a roof, as though he's inching forward, but his legs are wracked by tremors. In the sixth panel, his feet are closer together, no longer inching forward on the roof, still shaking. "I intended to stay in the barracks..." Tenzō says. In the seventh panel, Tenzō has dropped down to a crouch, reaching out as if going to brace himself with his injured arm. "Fuck," he says. He thinks to himself, body swarmed with thin white lines to indicate shuddering, "I'll just kill myself if I try to shunshin while shaking this bad."

name of the AU, basically it's about change, within oneself, within a friend group, within the world. and about accepting that change - or fighting against it. each member of the trio (or V³ as we like to call em) thinks their way of living is the right one. V(alerie) is hellbent on not backing down and staying right where she is V(incent) thinks getting away from the city and the people who hurt him is the best choice V(ivienne) wants more from life, money, fancy clothes and power

guess what this one is about! CHANGE! (are you tired of it yet?) mostly it is about viv picking a different path than v though - one stayed exactly where she has always been while the other chose to change. ALSO in the music video they are DOGS and we love a dog motif

some time ago we talked about viv helping v on her healing journey (girlie cannot catch a break from being a babysitter even after she got johnny a body LMAO) and even though v never ends up at rehab (maybe that will change) it still fits pretty well.

V³ had a pretty big fight at one point. viv was always going to leave for arasaka but v never understood or accepted it. they argued for hours and when vincent didn't chose her side, v stormed off to go on a weeklong bender. when she returned the flat was empty, both her siblings had left -and betrayed her. naturally, viv also felt betrayed by her childhood friend, all she asked for was support but instead she got called a traitor. i like to imagine this song plays on the radio one day after their reunion

TO ME this is THE streetkid song but it hits hard especially in this universe. as i mentioned before V³ thinks they picked the right path, they aren't gonna be beat (and honestly vincent is the only one who succeeded). viv had a good run but then she got kicked from the corp, lost her newest best friend, DIED and now has a whole other person stuck in her skull. v was stubborn, was homeless for a bit and is overall in a bad way (but then again, that's the only way she knows how to live so it's not as bad TO HER)

AS ABOVE, SO BELOW

THIS IS A BIG ONE SO BUCKLE IN FOLKS bishi and i had been talking about a personal quest for v and we ended up on this: one day they are driving somewhere while listening to the radio when a host teases a special treat! they have exclusive rights to the music of NC born and bred band Rotten! (yeah you guessed it! V's band) naturally this fills her with pure rage and viv knows this isn't going to end well (babysitting time!) v knows exactly who did this and is hellbent on rectifying this (there is more but yall are gonna have to wait for the day i decide to write it lmao) As Above, So Below is the name of the job! it is a song that v wrote but only she knows about it. while viv wasn't a band member she was there for it's founding and a few first concerts, she filmed a lot of it and even ran the merch stand a bit

YES the song is about v not wanting to sign with a label and it is her final fuck you to the world of music. in reality that song is incredibly underproduced since by the time it was recorded the band had already broken up. v did ALL of it: singing, instruments, songwriting. editing magic made it come to life. depending on how it ends (yes there are multiple outcomes) viv will receive a shard with ALL of rotten's music, including THIS unreleased song and even some backstage footage from way back in the day when viv was still around.
