heyyy

this is just me guilt posting because i think about this a lot and feel really bad about it but not everything i post about a subject came to me at the same time. What I mean is some of them are older asks and some of them are newer ones, I just post them as a group because there's so much I want to say on the subject but sometimes what I want to delve into relating to that subject would be a tangent of one post but the focus for another so I kinda post the multiple asks and own posts at the same time because I want to give the maximum amount of what can be said on it and my full attention and focus because it means a lot to me that you took time out of your day to send me something that you find interesting or have a question about and I want to reciprocate that to the full extent. This is also just me feeling guilty because I know i take an incredibly long time for some of them, and I'm so incredibly sorry and just thank you so much for your patience <33. Also because the asks come in at different times and I post them as one cohesive unit, I want to say that the asks aren't always influenced by each other. They are the writers' own thoughts and opinions and I want to give credit to that because they're brilliant.

And I also want to say that I love yall so, so much. It means more than the world to me that you guys chose to follow me, like my posts, reblog them, ask me how I'm doing, send me stuff you like...y'all are the light of my days. Thank you so much for being amazing and wonderful and kind and it makes me extremely happy to be here because you guys make it that way.

you seem like the. kind of person who I'd run into during a rock concert while I'm trying to find bathroom and notably you are dressed kind of oddly for the concert (see: divorced dad outfit. hawaiian shirt. jorts. chunky sandles. giant sun hat.) and so I ask you "hello, do you know where I can find the bathroom?" and you go "yeah sure!!" and you point me the complete opposite direction from the bathroom. not on purpose, but because you also have no idea where the bathroom is. I thank you and go on my way, both of us oblivious to the fact we are currently very much not at a rock concert. it's an idie band that just screams really loud. sorry if that's specific you just give me giant 'perpetual tourist that isn't really a tourist and has never left their home city but just seems like a tourist anyways' energy

Bear with me 'cause I'm feeling sad as fuck 'cause we had so many people talking about Elvis bith in good and bad faith but it hurts me deeply that we don't have a list of his top 100 movies/song and his top 10 favourite animals and shit like that.

oh my gosh- please don’t feel sorry for sharing thoughts like these because I truly relate to it so much 😭 and it brings comfort to me to know that I’m not the only one who can get lost in my own head thinking about these things- I welcome any and all vents about elvis in my inbox & I hope this brings you some comfort like reading your ask did for me ♡

while im grateful that we know some of his favorite things/foods from girlfriends and friends (like the fact that he could finish a whole box of Eskimo pies because he loved them that much 🥹), I’m still not satisfied because I have about a hundred questions floating around my head at any given time that I wish I could ask Elvis

I want to know what he got at the candy counter whenever he saw movies at the Memphian, I wanna know all the movies that made him laugh or cry, and like you said I want an numerical list of his top favorite animals. I would be over the moon to know something like his go-to McDonald’s order or if he was a morning shower person or a night shower person… sigh

I’ll just never get tired of learning about him because everything I’ve come to learn, I’ve come to love

however I did recently discover something about Elvis that made me personally love him even more (which I didn’t think was possible at this point) and that is that he was a huge fan of horror novels- which just happens to be my favorite genre to read and so when I saw him holding the copies of two of my absolute favorite books of that genre, I practically screamed !!

look at his cute self holding his copy of the exorcist- could you imagine him all curled up in bed with his lil reading glasses on and his bedside lamp on, reading this? 😭

and look at him proudly showing off his copy of the omen (this one made me scream even more because I have the exact same copy that I got from my aunt who bought it when it was first published in 1976)

im also on the floor at the fact that when he got sent a copy of the omen by a fan for it to be signed he read it before sending it back 💀

knowing that he was such an avid reader is just one of my favorite things I’ve come to learn about him- I just know he would have been an active reviewer on goodreads 🤧

I get the sense that Phil just likes to make “”weird”” stuff and has somewhat dialed back his weirdness due to his popularity and age. But I would love to see what an unfiltered 30 year old phil Lester video would look like. What stories does he want to tell? How does he want to tell those stories?

honestly i think phil is really good at playing out whatever his brain is thinking at the time. i think a lot of people struggle with ideas because they'll be seen as too 'weird' or 'strange' or even 'impossible', and what's neat about phil is he either doesn't have those boxes, or he's able to push through them in pursuit of creating the thing to its full potential. people describe him as creative, which he is, but i think it leaves out some of his best attributes as a creator. he's inventive--remember the countless trends and challenges that came from him that have swept the internet? he's fearless--and this doesnt mean that he's not afraid of anything (for phil its probably the opposite actually) but he does things despite the fear, regardless of the unknown. he's a relentless and passionate creator who likes to make things and values seeing them through to the end. but he's not naive either--he and dan have talked about each other being their harshest critics. it's not just that he's an ideas guy, he's a good ideas guy who knows how to make something flourish.

i don't think current phil is sitting in a box waiting for his chance to break free of his popularity. he could've stopped years ago, similar to dan, if he didn't want this. but he likes doing it. he gets to have his choice on which of his ideas turn into projects, without having the stress of Needing a brilliant idea and execution every week. right now i think a lot of his energy is focused on the gaming channel. as he's expressed to us a few times, it was him who really wanted it back, and he's been ready for a long time. dan's even admitted that he's been enjoying it, and i think a lot of that comes down to phil's creative directing. he loves the gaming channel and is so thrilled it's back--his own content has taken a step back in terms of upload regularity, and i genuinely don't think he could be happier about it.

i would love a big phil project, but i honestly don't see him doing a tour of his own unless he brings dan with him, and then why not have it be something they can do together? does that make sense? that seems to be his thought process about things. it's why i've suggested taskmaster cause it's a local thing that wouldn't keep him from home for a long while, but he does get to flex his creativity, intelligence, and humour.

i'm looking forward to anything phil does. his current project seems to be making dan happy and they're both having a lot of fun doing that
