Finished my 2nd bg as a practice before applying to avtp team some day! This time it's a cafe from the massive :> Palette was a bit edited so it'd look more ETF-like
Sssssspeaking of headcanons and the Massive's size...
I found this image from so many years ago, when I did the calculations myself based off of existing episodes. Keep in mind, this was well before Enter the Florpus was even a concept; also it's completely whack lol
----
This is the size of the Massive (Empire State Building for scale) as gained by very "CAREFUL"* calculations:
ZIM = about the height of DIB.
DIB = average 11 year old.
Average 11 year old = 5 ft.
ZIM = Average 11 year old height.
Therefore ZIM = 5 Feet
Voot Cruiser = about 2x taller than ZIM
Voot Cruiser = about 10 ft. tall and 12 ft. long
Viral Tank = about 59x longer, 36x taller, than Voot Cruiser (ZIM flies past it in the opening)
Viral Tank = about 360 ft. tall, 708 ft. long
The Massive = about 4.672x taller than Viral Tank (I think I got this from Backseat Drivers I want to say?)
The Massive is about 1,682 feet tall by 2,640 feet long

*literally just looking at screencaps and going "close enough"
What does it mean to be an environmentalist after the world has already ended? For Callum Israel, leader of the Ninth Wave oceanic activist group, this is the question that cuts to the core of his identity. In a post-war, post-Crash, post-disaster, post-everything world, nothing is certain and ideologies are meaningless. But the mission remains: search this crumbling world for answers to the cause of the Crash, and keep up the hunt for their missing sister ship, The Massive, lost and adrift in the chaos. Brian Wood's new, sprawling, post-apocalyptic epic takes the crew of the Kapital from the flooded remnants of Hong Kong to Unalaska, with stops in Antarctica and Mogadishu, as post-Crash ethics and economics are explored across a broken world.
The Massive 3D Model From “Nickelodeon All Star Brawl”:
I wanted to add in a picture of the massive next to the other ships but they’re canonically sized so the literally 6000 km long Massive takes up an entire side of the screen and you can only see a tiny portion of it from the picture’s perspective but I couldn’t get a good looking picture because the Massive (and blender) kept breaking when I made the Massive too big.
The constant rolling disaster that is Overwatch's game development aside, what really perplexes me about how Blizzard is handling the broader franchise is their continual insistence that a canon narrative exists in spite of their equally continual refusal to tell anyone what it is.
Like, okay, the events of the games aren't canon. Fair enough: the games are multiplayer-only, and you can't account for player actions.
Oh, and the animated short films aren't canon either – they're properly understood as in-universe propaganda, not depictions of actual events. That's a little high concept for you guys, but fine.
But surely the comics are canon, right? Well, no; some of the comics (we're not telling you which ones) were canon at one point, but the writing team has decided to go in a different direction.
My dudes, what is left? The weird Source Filmmaker porn? Is that canon? Well, apparently it's at least as canon as anything else!
Child abuse is a big problem, so it's important that we don't let children communicate with adults except their parents and other official authority figures. Everyone knows the best way to prevent child abuse is to keep children isolated and ensure all their communications are controlled.
I made a little background of control room on the massive :3c As I want to apply some day to avtp team as bg artist and need examples which are closer to style LMAO
Also you can find a timelapse under the cut so you could behold my struggles
