thank you so much for writing my Valentine’s Day request! I would definitely love to see a part 2 or a mini series (if you’re up for it ofc). maybe where they are wedding planning and then the day of the wedding and all the girls help the reader get ready (Chad helps Ethan ofc) and Quinn is super excited to have a sister in law… and maybe at the end the new wedded landrys will announce baby landry on the way 😉
Okay, this is MASSIVE. I hope you like it:) I had a lot to fit in lmao
Perfectly Perfect - Ethan Landry x Fem!Reader - Part 2
Tumblr media
Summary: After Ethan asks you to marry him, you learn that he wants to marry you as soon as possible. He also mentions how badly he wants kids soon, but it happens sooner than expected.
Part 1
Contains: Fluff, pregnancy, suggestions to sex, and if I didn't use the word 'fuck', it wouldn't be a fic I wrote :)
A/N: Jesus, I hope y'all like this. I've spent a couple days on it, and it has SO MUCH in it. Like 8 months worth of stuff in 6.7k words(I double-checked for grammatical errors, and if you catch something I didn't, I'm SO SORRY). I didn't want to leave it on a cliffhanger like I love to do. I'll be working on a couple fics tomorrow, one of them will definitely be smut:)

After Ethan proposed, you didn’t want to get back to your normal life. You couldn’t wait to start talking about wedding planning, but he wanted to wait for the weekend so he could completely focus on it and not be stressed about his work project.
On Friday night, you sat on top of his kitchen counter as he made you dinner. You offered to help, but he knew your day was stressful, so he wanted you to relax. You smiled as you watched him, thinking back to the first time he ever tried to cook for you.
He tried to make pasta with this sauce that he made from scratch. He wanted it to seem like he knew what he was doing, even though the most he’d ever made was ramen and instant mac and cheese. The gesture was sweet, but the food tasted terrible. You didn’t show it though, until he finally spoke up.
“This tastes awful…how are you eating that?” he asked as you started to laugh a little.
“You worked hard on it, babe.”
“Fuck it, let’s order Chinese,” he said, pulling out his phone. “One day, I’ll be good at cooking.”
“I can always cook for you, though,” you smiled, as he shook his head.
“One of these days, I want to be able to cook for you and our kids,” he said, placing the order and sitting his phone down on the table. Your eyes widened, because that was the first time he’d ever hinted that the two of you would have a long future together. You’d only been together for a little over a year, but you knew you wanted to be with him forever.
“Kids, huh? How many are we having?” you asked, taking a sip of your water.
“I think five is a good number,” he said, as you started to choke on the water. “Okay, maybe not five. But I know I want a family with you someday.”
“I’d like that,” you smiled, as he leaned over to kiss you, “But five is definitely a lot.”
His cooking skills improved after he discovered that salt and pepper weren’t the only seasonings someone could use. When he walked over and reached around to grab some spices out of the cabinet, you started to move your head.
“You’re fine, baby,” he said, kissing your forehead before he grabbed what he needed.
“I’m absolutely dying to talk about wedding stuff,” you said dramatically, as he went back to his place in front of the stove.
“What do you want to talk about first?” he asked, smiling as he focused on dinner.
“When do you want to get married?” he started to laugh a little at your question.
“I’d marry you right this second if we could pull a wedding together that quick.” He said, “I’m thinking October.”
“Like, eight months away October? Or next year?” you questioned, getting a little nervous.
“This year,” he said, sautéing the veggies he was cooking in the pan.
“Uh, I don’t know if we could pull that off. We’d have to find a wedding venue, a photographer, a DJ, a florist…I’d have to get a dress. Plus, October is a busy wedding month,” you sighed, “Most of the venues are probably booked up already.”
“I can pull some strings,” he said, as you curiously eyed him. “One of the guys at work has a cousin that’s about to open their own wedding venue this fall. He mentioned it when I told him I was going to propose.”
“Really?” you asked, “But there’s still so many other things to do.”
“Let’s eat first, then we can look into it.”
The food he made was delicious. He smiled proudly as you wouldn’t stop complimenting his cooking skills. It was definitely an improvement from what he tried to make for you four years ago.
“I told you, I was going to get better at cooking for you and our future kids,” he started to laugh, but then he got quiet as he started to think.  “How do you feel about trying for one soon?”
His question caught you off guard, your cheeks turning pink. “Oh, um…” you were so flustered as you tried to compile your thoughts, “Yeah, I’d love that, but we need to get the wedding stuff squared away first, then we’ll talk about it.”
“Deal.”
After dinner, he sat down with you on the couch and pulled out his phone to show you the pictures of the new wedding venue that was almost finished.
“That’s beautiful!” you said, looking at the tall ceilings and the spacious outside area.
“They’re going to get the landscaping finished this week, and then they have to do a few more things to the inside. I’ll ask him if we can tour it when it’s finished,” he said, his arm draping around your shoulder as he pulled you closer. “I want our wedding day to be everything you’ve ever dreamed of, so if you hate it, we could always push it out a year.”
“I’m sure I’ll love it just by how gorgeous it already looks,” you said, snuggling into his chest, “but yeah, ask him about touring it.”
“Oh, Chad has a friend that’s a photographer, too,” he said, as you raised up a little to look at him.
“Have you been wedding planning without me?” you joked, as he playfully rolled his eyes.
“No…well maybe a little,” he sighed, “His work is really good. I’ve also been looking at flowers and stuff on my breaks at work…don’t hate me.”
Your heart started to melt as you realized exactly how excited he was to marry you. You knew he wanted to and that he loved you, but him wanting to officially start your lives together as soon as possible made you feel so special.
“What do you think for colors?” you asked, interested in what he had to say.
“I haven’t thought about that yet, I wanted you to pick them.”
“I’m thinking a really pretty deep red and maybe some orange would look really nice, especially if the leaves are going to be changing,” you smiled, as he nodded.
The two of you continued to talk about your wedding ideas, and how big you wanted it to be. You knew some people that went all out and had hundreds of people at their weddings, but you and Ethan decided to keep that number at one hundred or less. You wanted it to be intimate, but still have all the people that meant a lot to you to be there.
“What about your bridesmaids?” he questioned, as you started to think.
“Well, of course Tara would be my Maid of Honor, and Mindy and Anika, but do you think Quinn would want to be the fourth one?” you asked, as he started smiling.
“She’d love that, babe. She loves you, and she’s always asking about you whenever she calls to check in,” he said, “It makes me so happy that you’d want someone from my family to be one of your bridesmaids.”
He started to talk about Chad being his best man, and you wouldn’t expect anything less. They were so close, and Chad was the reason the two of you got together in the first place. Ethan was shy, so Chad encouraged him to finally ask you out.
As the months started to fly by, you were surprised at how quickly everything was coming together. Between you and Ethan’s busy work schedules, you still found time to tour the venue, meet with a DJ, do your engagement shoot with Chad’s friend, and get your dress. You didn’t think you’d be able to pull off everything as quick as you were, but with the help of your friends, it was easy.
“Babe,” you called out as you walked through Ethan’s front door, “Where are you?”
He didn’t say anything, but you heard the faint sound of the shower. You walked into the bathroom as he was stepping out.
“Hey, babe,” he said, drying off as you hopped up onto the bathroom counter, “How was your appointment?”
“It was good. It didn’t hurt as bad to take it out as it did to have it put in,” you said, referring to your IUD. “Don’t get any ideas, though. We’re still four months away from the wedding.”
You wanted to wait until it was a lot closer to the wedding, but your doctor was about to have her own baby and was going to take a few months off. You were eager to start a family with Ethan, but you wanted to fit into the dress that you’d spent a lot of money on.
“Fineee,” he sighed out, wrapping his towel around his hips before standing in front of you. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” you said as he leaned in to kiss you. After he pulled away, you started to panic, remembering things you still had to do. “Fuck, I forgot to email the caterer!”
You tried to slide off the counter before Ethan stopped you. “I already did it, babe,” your mind was still racing, “And Tara stopped by work today to grab the invitations. She dropped them off at the post office for us.”
You sighed, relaxing a little as you smiled at him. “What else do we still have to do, then?”
“The only thing I want us to worry about tonight is spending time with each other,” he said, his hands resting on your thighs, “No wedding talk, no stressing. I just want to hang out.”
“Okay,” you said, as he stepped back so you could slide off the counter.
“I’m going to get dressed, then I’ll order food, and we can watch a movie,” he said, pecking your lips as you walked out of the bathroom.
You had a great night with Ethan. He knew how to calm you down and take your mind off things, even though the little voice inside your head kept reminding you of the few things you still had to do. When you woke up the next morning with Ethan spooning you, he was starting to stir awake himself.
“Good morning,” you giggled, as he kissed the back of your neck.
“Good morning,” he said, his curls tickling your bare shoulder, “We have stuff to do today.”
“Do we have to?” you asked, “Because I just want to stay in bed with you all day.”
You adjusted in his arms to face him, his sleepy eyes meeting your mischievous ones.
“Oh? Well, we do have a couple hours before we have to be at the bakery to decide on our cake flavors,” he said, his hands resting on your hips. “What about the possibility of getting pregnant?”
“I highly doubt that it’d happen that quick.”
A couple months later, you realized how wrong you were. Your period didn’t show up, which you assumed was because of the stress and your body getting used to no longer using birth control. After the second month of not getting one, your boobs really started to hurt.
“Uh, are you pregnant?” Tara asked, her eyes going wide as she helped you put together your wedding favors, “I know you mentioned wanting to have a baby soon.”
“I don’t think so,” you sighed, “I think it’s just the stress of the wedding has everything out of whack.”
“It can’t hurt to take a test to be sure. I know you’d feel bad if you were and you weren’t taking the vitamins you need,” she said, “Plus, it’s best to know sooner rather than later if you’re going to fit in your dress.”
“My doctor put me on the vitamins when I told her I wanted to get pregnant soon, so if I am, everything should be okay,” you sighed, getting a little anxious, “But, you’re right. I’ll take a test when Ethan gets back from tux shopping with Chad.”
“I love seeing Chad in a tux,” she gushed, “Maybe one day you’ll be helping me with my wedding…if he ever asks me.”
“It’ll happen. I thought Ethan would never ask, even with me hinting at it all the time.”
When Ethan and Chad made it back to Tara’s, she was practically pushing the two of you out the door. She knew that Chad and Ethan would probably get caught up in video games, but she knew you had more important things to do.
“Did you get your suit?” you asked from the passenger’s seat as Ethan drove.
“Yeah, I think you’ll like it,” he said, glancing over to you. “You okay?”
You sighed as you looked over to him, “Can we stop by the pharmacy on the way back to your house?”
“Yeah, are you feeling sick?” he asked, his voice showing concern.
“No, not really…but Tara thinks I’m pregnant,” you said, as Ethan almost ran a stop sign.
“Wait, what?” he asked, the both of you jolting forward as he came to a sudden stop. “We’ve been safe until a week ago.”
“If I am pregnant, it happened the morning we went to the bakery,” you said, as his hand reached over to grab yours. “I haven’t gotten my period, either.”
“Okay, um…yeah,” he stammered, trying to hide the excitement over the possibility.
“What if I am? I’ll be four months along and probably showing by then,” you sighed, “I won’t fit into my dress. I’m running out of time for alterations, too.”
“Well don’t freak out until we know for sure, okay?” he said, trying to calm you down.
After you made it back to Ethan’s, you went straight to the bathroom with the pharmacy bag in your hand.
“I’ll wait out here,” he said, leaning against the wall to give you your privacy.
He was hoping that the test would be positive, but he didn’t want you to be unhappy about it. He knew it would add even more stress if you were as far along as you thought. He started to get lost in his thoughts as he heard you squeal.
He opened the bathroom door to see your eyes watering and a huge smile on your face.
“Babe, I’m pregnant!”
“No fucking way!” he yelled, picking you up and spinning you. “Oh shit, okay. We’re going to be parents.” He sat you down on your feet and kissed you. “We can turn the spare bedroom into a nursery after the wedding!”
“Oh shit,” you said, your mind going back to the wedding, “I don’t mind being pregnant, and if I’m showing, I don’t care. But I need to figure out something for my dress.”
“Let’s make an appointment and make sure everything’s okay, then we can worry about that.”
You called your doctors office the following Monday, begging to be seen. With your normal doctor being out on maternity leave, they were able to schedule you with another doctor that same day that had a cancellation. You and Ethan both left work early to go because you didn’t know what to expect. You were happy he came with you because they realized that you were about ten weeks along and wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure the baby was measuring correctly.
“There’s not a whole lot to see right now, but the baby is measuring the way it should be,” the ultrasound technician said, as your eyes started to water. You looked over to see Ethan wiping his tears as he watched the screen. She occasionally paused so she could print out the sonograms from different angles.
When you went to walk out, she handed you a tiny little folder with the images she’d printed out. The cover of it said Baby’s First Photo’s, and when Ethan saw it, he lost it. You had to take a few minutes in the room as you tried to get him to stop crying.
“I’m sorry, I’m just so happy,” he said, as you reached up to wipe some of his tears.
“It’s okay, baby. I’m happy that you’re this happy,” you said, as he grabbed your hand.
“I love you so much. You’re going to be such an amazing mom,” he said, as he started to pull himself together.
“And you’re going to be an amazing dad. I love you too, babe.”
After the appointment, you talked to Ethan about telling Chad and Tara. Now that you knew the baby was okay, you just had to tell your best friend.
“That’s fucking awesome, dude! Congratulations,” Chad said, pulling Ethan into a hug.
“I knew it!” Tara said, wiping away the few tears that were slipping out.
“Show them the pictures!” Ethan said excitedly, as you grabbed the folder out of your purse.
“Aww, little baby Landry,” Chad said, flipping through the images.
“What do you think you’re having?” Tara asked, “Because I need a reason to go shopping.”
Chad rolled his eyes, “You always have a reason to go shopping.”
“We won’t find out until after the wedding, but I think we want to announce our pregnancy then,” you smiled, looking over to Ethan as he nodded.
“Let me know what I can do to help once you guys decide what you want to do,” Tara said, taking one last look at the pictures before she handed them back to you.
“I will.”
A month later, you stopped by Tara’s to try your dress on to see if it still fit.
“Fuck,” you said, as she tried to zip the back. It wouldn’t budge above your waist. “What am I going to do now?” you sighed, looking at her in the mirror of her bedroom.
“We can get it altered. We’re cutting it close though, and we still don’t know how big you’ll be on your wedding day,” she said, as panic started to set in for her, too. “The bridal shop is open today; I’ll call them to see if their seamstress can fix it.”
As Tara paced on the phone, you really thought you were going to have to buy a whole new dress, until she screamed “Yes! Thank you so much!”
She ended the call before walking up to you, “Okay, we have to take it in right now, but they believe they can put something into the sides of the dress that will make it a little stretchy.”
“Thank god,” you said, sliding the dress off and putting it back on the hanger.
When you arrived at the bridal store, the seamstress took new measurements and used her experience with other brides in similar situations to decide what to do.
“This won’t be ready for a few weeks, but I assure you that you’ll have it before your wedding,” she said, as you sighed in relief.
“Thank you so much!” you said, “You’ll call me when it’s ready?”
“As soon as I finish it, I’ll call you in so you can try it on,” she said, as you nodded.
You were still stressed, but you were hopeful that you’d still be able to wear the dress.
After a few weeks went by, you got the call to come look at your dress. As you tried it on, and the seamstress zipped it, it fit perfectly.
“Thank you so much!” you smiled, “I didn’t doubt you, but I know I’m a little bigger now, so I wasn’t sure if that would work.”
“You’re lucky I have experience with this,” she laughed, helping you back out of the dress.
“You can’t even tell I’m pregnant!”
The day before your wedding, Tara and Chad helped you and Ethan get everything set up in the venue. The boys were in the corner decorating the arch because they were tall enough to do so, as Tara helped you decorate the tables.
“This is so cute!” she said, looking at the burnt orange cheesecloth table runners were draped across the tables.
 “It’ll look even better after the florist delivers the flowers tomorrow morning. The red and orange roses are really going to make everything pop.”
Ethan walked over to look at what you and Tara were working on. “I hate to rush you, but we have to start the rehearsal soon,” he said, “But these tables look amazing, babe.”
When he kissed the top of your head, you heard a squeal come from the main entrance.
“Hey, guys!” Quinn said, as she walked in. Ethan ran up to hug her before she came over to you. “Are you excited? Because you’re totally glowing.”
“Yeah, I am,” you smiled, glancing down at your oversized t-shirt. It’s taken everything in you to not put your hands on your belly whenever you were around anyone the didn’t already know you were pregnant.
“Thank you for asking me to be a part of your day tomorrow,” she smiled, “So we’re staying at Tara’s tonight?”
“Yeah, we’re having a slumber party,” Tara laughed, joining the conversation. “It’s bad luck for the bride to see the groom before the wedding.” You and Ethan both rolled your eyes at the superstition, “Hey, I want you two to last forever.”
“We will,” Ethan said, pulling you into a kiss.
“Gross,” you heard Mindy yell as she walked into the door. Anika was right behind her, the excitement evident on her face as she looked around the room.
“Wow, this is gorgeous,” she said, as they walked up to you.
“My people are here, where’s the rest of yours?” you asked Ethan, remembering him wanting to start the rehearsal.
“They’re on the way,” he sighed, as Chad started to yell for his help. “I’ll be right back.”
You laughed as they were struggling to get the lacy orange and red fabric to stay on the arch, along with the few fake flower decorations you got from the craft store.
“This isn’t funny,” Ethan said, trying to fight his own laughter as Chad started to get pissed.
The other two of Ethan’s groomsmen walked in and greeted you before walking over to Ethan and Chad to help.
“How many men does it take to hang some fabric and fake flowers?” Quinn questioned, watching the scene unfold in front of her.
“I don’t know, but hopefully the answer is four, because that’s all we’ve got,” you laughed, as the guys started to cheer.
“Ooh, they finally got it,” Mindy said, wrapping her arm around Anika as she giggled.
The officiant, DJ, and wedding coordinator were ready to go when Ethan walked up to you.
“You ready to fake marry me?” he asked, grabbing your hand.
“Yeah, let’s get this over with. I’m starting to get sleepy,” you sighed, as Ethan nodded. Your newest pregnancy symptom was extreme tiredness, but you’d take that over being nauseous.
“Okay, we’ll be doing this outside tomorrow, but because it’s raining, we have to do it inside tonight,” the wedding coordinator said, “I want to make this as painless as possible.”
Ethan followed the bridesmaids and groomsmen down the aisle, standing on his side as the music started for you to walk down the aisle. You took your time as you were instructed, finally making it to Ethan.
He started to laugh a little, as you rolled your eyes. “You’re laughing now, but if you don’t cry when you see me in my dress tomorrow, I’ll walk down this aisle a hundred times.”
“Sorry, this is a little awkward,” he said, grabbing your hand as the officiant started to speak.
He started to go through his spiel, skipping over the vows you and Ethan were going to recite for each other and the ‘I now pronounce you husband and wife’ part.
“Are we done yet?” you asked through a yawn, the tiredness being too much.
“Did you want to look at the slideshow tonight, or no?” the DJ asked as he pointed at the projection screen.
“No!” you and Ethan both said at the same time, knowing that the last slide was the one announcing your pregnancy.
“I think it’ll be fine to wait until tomorrow,” Ethan said, wrapping his arm around your shoulder.
“Okay, cool. We’re done, then,” he said, shutting his laptop.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, baby,” Ethan said, turning to you. He leaned down to kiss you when your friends walked up.
“We need to get her out of here,” Tara said, as you pulled away from the kiss. Ethan subtly rubbed his hand over your tummy, which he’d done every single night before bed since you found out you were pregnant.
“I love you,” he said, as Tara grabbed your hand to pull you away.
“I love you, too!”
When you made it back to Tara’s, you were struggling to keep your eyes open as everyone sat around and talked. You finally excused yourself to the guest bedroom, falling asleep the second your head hit the pillow.
The next morning, you woke up before everyone else. You showered and ordered coffee before you snuck into Tara’s room to grab your dress out of the closet. When the coffee arrived, you were debating on peacefully waking everyone up, but decided on yelling.
“I’m ready to get married, wake up!” Your voice echoed off the walls of the house as you heard Mindy groan in the living room. Tara soon turned the corner, grabbing her drink out of the holder.
“Thanks for the coffee,” she said, as you took a sip of yours. “Are you supposed to be drinking that?”
“It’s decaf,” you sighed, “It’s not as good but it’ll get me through the day.”
She nodded as everyone else walked into the kitchen.
“Someone’s excited,” Quinn smiled, “I can’t believe I’m getting a sister-in-law today!”
She pulled you into a hug, “I hope I got your coffee order right. I was trying to remember it from college.”
“No, this is perfect,” she said, taking a sip.
“We have to be at the venue in two hours,” you said, looking around at everyone’s tired expressions. “Can you guys get ready soon?”
“I expected the bridezilla antics to start before now,” Mindy said, sarcasm in her tone as you glanced over to her.
“I just don’t want to be late,” you sighed, as Quinn remembered something.
“I don’t know if you’re doing the normal wedding traditions, but,” she said, running to her bag in the living room, “I’d love it if you’d wear this.” She opened a jewelry box, showing you a beautiful diamond necklace. “This belonged to Ethan and I’s grandmother.”
“Oh my god, Quinn! This is gorgeous!” You were in awe, the sweet gesture showing you how excited she was for you to be a part of her family. “I’d love to wear it.”
“I hoped you’d say that. I know it would mean a lot to Ethan.”
After everyone finally got ready, you headed to the venue. Tara ran into the main building, looking around for Ethan.
“You! Stay right there for the next five minutes,” she said as she saw him, before running back to the car.
Ethan laughed to himself at her determination to keep you from being seen by him as he helped the florist finish decorating the tables.
“Okay, we gotta move,” Tara said, grabbing stuff out of the trunk of her car as you walked through the back entrance to the bridal suite.
You hung your dress up and waited for the rest of your friends to make it inside.
“Geez, T. What is all of this?” Mindy asked, sitting one of the heavy plastic bins down on the floor.
“It’s all the stuff to get our beautiful bride ready,” she groaned out, setting down another box.
“I think the key word is beautiful, which she already is…she doesn’t need all this shit,” Mindy said, opening the tote to look inside. “Wait, what’s up with these favors?”
“Don’t look at those!” Tara said, as Mindy eyed her suspiciously.
“What’s going on?” she asked, as Anika and Quinn made it in with the rest of the stuff.
“Those are another set of favors we’re giving out after,” Tara said, looking over to you.
“What do you mean?” she asked, as you tried to discreetly change into something that wouldn’t mess up your hair and makeup after it was finished. “Wait, what the fuck?”
Mindy walked over to you as Quinn and Anika were showing off the dress styles they chose in your colors.
“Are you pregnant?” she whispered, taking in the way your lower abdomen was sticking out.
“Mindy, please don’t say anything to anyone,” you said, motioning with your eyes to your other friends, “We’re announcing it today.”
“Wait, seriously?” she asked, as you started to laugh.
“Are you going to keep asking questions?” You whispered as you smiled, “Ethan and I wanted to get pregnant. It happened quicker than I thought it would, but this was always the plan.”
“Oh, well congratulations,” she said, trying to hide her excitement.
“Why are you congratulating her?” Anika asked, as she walked up to join in the conversation.
“She’s getting married, babe, duh.”
When Tara helped you get ready, you could tell she was trying hard not to cry. She was so happy for you, and knowing how much Ethan loved you made it hard for her to keep her emotions in. You felt awkward trying to talk to her as Chad’s friend came in to snap pictures of everyone getting ready.
“Thank you for doing this for me, Tara,” you said, as she finished up your hair.
“You think I’d let just anyone glam you up for your special day?” she asked, spraying a thick cloud of hairspray over your head.
“You know there’s a lot of chemicals in that, right?” you laughed as her eyes went wide.
“I’m so sorry!”
“It’s okay, I just wanted to distract you. You’ve been fighting tears since I sat down in the chair,” you said, as she started to let them slip out.
“I’m just so happy for you,” she said, as she started to put primer on your face.
“Well, just know that when Chad proposes someday, I’ll do the exact same stuff for you that you’ve done for me. I’m so thankful for our friendship.”
“I think that’s coming sooner rather than later…” she trailed off as you stared at her.
“Okay, spill. What’s going on?” you asked, as she shook her head.
“Today’s your day. We can talk about it after the honeymoon.”
“No, tell me! I don’t care what day it is,” you said, laughing.
“Well, I found a receipt for a jewelry store when I was doing Chad’s laundry the other day,” she said, as you cut her off.
“You’re doing wifey shit, but continue,” you said, as she started to blush.
“It was for a ring. So, unless he’s buying it for someone else, I’m pretty sure he wants to marry me.”
You started to squeal as she shushed you.
“Sorry, I’m just so happy for you!”
After your makeup was done, and you helped everyone else get ready, Tara was about to kick everyone out when Quinn ran up to you.
“I’m leaving, but I wanted to give you this,” she said, handing you the jewelry box with the necklace in it.
“Wait, I think you should help me put it on.”
She smiled as she took it out of the box and put it around your neck, clasping it in the back. The photographer started snapping pictures of the sweet moment. She was trying not to cry as she looked at you wearing it. “Thank you for being so good to my brother. I know he’s a little dorky, but you really brought him out of his shell. He’s never been this happy.”
You felt your own eyes start to water as you fanned your face with your hands, trying to keep the tears in. “Thank you, Quinn.”
You hugged her before she went out to join Mindy and Anika in the reception area of the venue.
“Let’s get your dress on,” Tara said, grabbing it off the hanger.
“Is it bad that I’m nervous it wont fit even though it did a week ago,” you sighed, unbuttoning your shirt and sliding your leggings down.
“It will, don’t stress,” she said, as you stepped inside the dress.
“See, still fits,” she smiled after she got it zipped.
“Are you ladies almost ready?” The wedding coordinator asked, as she walked in
“Yes,” you said, slipping your heels on. “Is he ready?”
She started to laugh at your question, “Honey, that man’s been ready for over an hour. His best man was in there…what do you kids call it…hyping him up?”
You started to laugh, “Yeah, that sounds about right.”
“Well, if you’re ready, I’ll let them know that we can begin,” she said, looking you over in your dress. “You look gorgeous.”
“Gorgeous enough to make the groom cry?” you asked, as she nodded.
“He’s already cried a couple times,” she said, walking out of the room.
Tara looked at you and stuck her lip out at the fact that Ethan was so emotional.
“Aww, that’s so sweet!” she said, helping you put your veil on.
“I’m hoping these pregnancy hormones don’t get the best of me today. I don’t want to mess all your hard work up,” you said, fanning your face again.
“That’s what setting spray is for,” she said, giving your face a second coat of it. “Just in case.”
The coordinator came back in the room to grab you as you heard the music start to play.
“I know this is a little different than last night, but you’re just going to walk down the path to the arch,” she said, as Tara walked past you to join the rest of the bridesmaids.
“I love you,” she said, “Don’t be nervous.”
After everyone cleared out, you waited for your cue.
“Alright, sweetheart. This is all you,” she said, gently nudging you towards the door.
As you walked out, you noticed all the people standing, and couldn’t help but think about falling in front of all of them. The second Ethan was in your line of vision, and he covered his face as he started to cry, it gave you all the confidence you needed to make it to him.
You noticed that Tara and Quinn were trying so hard to keep it together, and Chad too. He was just so happy for his best friend. You smiled at him as Ethan pulled his hands away from his face.
“So beautiful,” he said, wiping away the tears that just kept slipping out. Chad reached over to pat him on the back as you made it to the end of the path, standing across from him.
As the officiant started to speak, your breath hitched in your throat. You were trying so hard not to cry, but you knew you were going to lose that battle once you and Ethan read your vows.
“The bride and groom have written their own vows. We’ll start with you,” he said, turning to Ethan.
“I didn’t write anything down, because I wanted to speak from the heart,” he said, laughing a little, “I love everything about you, from the way you look when you first wake up, to the way you argue with me over the remote. You’re my best friend, my soulmate. You’re everything I could’ve ever wanted and more in a partner. You were patient with me when I was shy and didn’t know how to talk to you when we first met. Now, I’m a more confident person because of the man you’ve helped me become. I’m so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you.”
Tears were slipping out, as hard as you tried to fight it, before the officiant turned to you.
“I also didn’t write my vows down,” you giggled, “but I guess that’s what makes us so special. I’m so thankful for you. When you finally asked me to be yours, I never had a doubt in my mind that we wouldn’t last forever. You say that I boosted your confidence, but you helped mine so much. I don’t worry about what people think of me, because I know the one that truly matters is always in my corner, no matter what. I know we can make it through anything the universe throws at us, as long as I have you by my side. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I’m so happy that I get to be your wife. I’m so happy that you chose me. I love you, too.”
Ethan nodded as he fought off the tears again. You almost missed everything your officiant was saying, because you were so focused on him.
“If there are no objections, by the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife,” he announced, before turning to Ethan, “You gonna kiss your bride or not?”
Everyone started to laugh as Ethan leaned in, his hands going to your hips as he kissed you.
Cheers erupted from your guests as he lifted you off the ground before gently sitting you back down. That’s when he noticed the necklace.
“Babe, is this…”
“Your grandmothers,” you said, finishing his thought. He started to tear up all over again.
He looked over to Quinn and mouthed ‘thank you’ before he took your hand and walked you back up the aisle.
You were quickly whisked away by the photographer, who wanted to get some beautiful shots of you and Ethan in the wooded area on the edge of the venue. The red and orange accents in his suit and boutonniere looked beautiful against the orange and yellow leaves.
“Can I have a minute with her?” Ethan asked the photographer. He nodded, stepping back a few yards but still snapping a few photos as the two of you talked. “You look so beautiful, and your vows were beautiful.”
“Yours were too, babe,” you said, standing on your tippy toes to kiss him.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, rubbing his hand across the well-hidden bump.
“I feel great right now. Hopefully I won’t be too tired later,” you smiled, as he took your hand in his and walked towards the photographer.
“Well, Mrs. Landry, let’s go to the party,” he said, as you smiled.
“I like the sound of that…Mrs. Landry.”
“Well good, because you’re stuck with me forever.”
When you made it back inside the venue, you immediately went into your first dance. The slideshow started, and it was perfectly timed out to the music as your arms were around Ethan’s neck. It showed pictures of the two of you as kids, before moving on to the pictures the two of you had taken as a couple. As you saw the engagement photos, you knew what the next one would be as the music stopped. You and Ethan both turned towards the screen as the picture of your sonogram popped up, with the words ‘Baby Landry coming soon’.
The gasps were audible, before everyone started to clap for the two of you. That’s when the DJ invited everyone else out to the dance floor to join you and Ethan.
“Wait, you’re pregnant?! That’s why you’re glowing!” Quinn said, looking down at your stomach, “I’m going to be an aunt!”
She was squealing, so excited for you, but also, her new title. “This dress is hiding it well. I’m sixteen weeks along,” you said, rubbing your hands across your belly.
“No way! Well, I guess I’ll be moving back to New York,” she smiled, “I’m not missing all the important moments of this baby’s life.”
“What about the guy you’re seeing?” you asked, as she rolled her eyes.
“I’ll make him come with me.”
After the wedding was winding down, the tiredness fully started to kick in.
“You okay?” Chad asked, as Ethan mingled with the guests.
“Yeah, just exhausted,” you sighed, as he looked at the ground.
“When you two get back from Mexico, I kind of need your help with something,” he said, flashing a smile.
“Oh?” you asked, waiting for him to say more. He glanced over to Tara, who was laughing at something Mindy said.
“Yeah, I hope this is okay because Ethan suggested that I talk to you tonight before you leave…but I’m going to ask Tara to marry me.”

This Week in BL - just RELAX BL, you're stressing me out
Organized, in each category, by ones I'm enjoying most at the top. However, I've put quite a few on hold for travel reasons.
Oct 2023 Wk 3
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 10 of 12 - Boyfriends are cute boyfriends. Reconciliation with daddy and then major brother drama. How exciting. Gah but that closing scene, these two are such great actors!
Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 8 fin - A perfectly serviceable final episode. I did love the red Chinese-style wedding to go with the “hia.” Also, just a little Thai 'poke poke poke' at China.
Tumblr media
Final thoughts?
This is a nice addendum to Cutie Pie, but it’s relatively incomprehensible even if you’ve watched that previous installment. I can’t imagine it will make any sense at all if you haven’t. Frankly, the most impressive thing about this show was the makeup team. MaxNat give excellent chemistry, all the high heat is well done, and the friendships are adorable, even if the story is nonsensical. It’s fine, I’m relieved it was only 8 eps. I enjoyed it for the pair but I will probably never rewatch. A weak 8/10
My Universe (Sun iQIYI) Lucky Love ep 9 of 24 -Heartbroken (drunk) gay boy meets (fights) sister’s new chef. I love the femme bestie. Adorbs. This one seems pretty good actually. I like all the shots of Bangkok’s actual traffic. POV is a bit of a sad sack tho.
Tumblr media
Absolute Zero (Thai Weds iQIYI) ep 4 of 12 - There is something clever about this narrative in the way that they are each each other’s first and second loves, but also age gap kinda creepy (Thailand maybe leave this one for Japan?)
Venus in the Sky (Tues iQIYI) 8 of 10 eps - So much whiny gay drama babies. However, it also manages to be painfully slow, through the simple act of having 90% of the show be boys sitting around staring at their phones. Then it suddenly got way higher heat than I expected. Honestly, this could’ve ended at 8 sps. I don’t see how extending the show is going to improve it in any way.
Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 11 of 12 (not a BL but I'm watching it anyway) - I don’t have faith in any couple. One of my favorite things about this show is watching how many boys Mark can kiss. I know everyone is focusing on Neo, but seriously baby boy got game. Meanwhile Boston’s dick must be made of self-lubing steal pipe; I remain entirely uninterested is TopMew; Mew’s fam demonstrate why a gay boy should never take advice from straight women; and the slut-shaming agenda continues. NO SINGING. No character in this show is happy when Boeing turns up, but the rest of us trash-loving muckrakers are thrilled.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
If It’s With You AKA Even If I Fall In Love With You AKA Kimi to nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo’ (Japan Gaga) ep 3 of 5 - Oh it is so cute and so sweet and so aching. I really did not want the confession to happen, even though I knew it had to. There is an element of torture to this one that only Japan can execute with such precise softness.
You Are Mine (Taiwan Fri Viki) eps 7 of 10 - I remain charmed. But while the me of 2018 would have thought this one of the best BLs ever, the me of now is finding it a bit dated and nostalgic.
Bon Appetit (Korea Weds iQIYI) 7-8fin - Romance between an office worker and the man from his past next door who cooks well. It was a very sweet and cute tale of food as love in the All the Liquors family of KBL. I’m not wild about it, I did enjoy it, I was happy to have it show up on my dash, but ultimately it will simply become one of the KBL crowd. 8/10
Kiseki: Dear to Me (Taiwan Tues Viki & iQIYI) ep 10 of 13(?) - another one where they are separated for most of the show. Although the sides are giving win.
Bump Up Business (Korea Gaga) 1-2 of 8 - from Idol Romance staring OnlyOneOf's Nine & Mill, this released as a movie in July in SK but is now being recut/reissued as a series. Love story between a trainee who is about to debut and a celebrity plagued by scandal. After that OmegaX Shoulder bullshizz business I am very wary of this show, but this pair is already better cast.
Tumblr media
Out of the mouths of OnlyOneOf (!!!) babes...
As to the show? I don’t know. I mean I love the idea, am nervous about Korea (with that bubble) doing a meta critique of the BL industry, with K-pop idols, using an existing group. It just seems like there’s a lot of mines in this small field, and it could go horribly horribly wrong. I am enjoying it, but also anxious the whole time I’m watching it for culture/market reasons. That said, I did pretty much ask for this exact show. So I can't complain, now can I?
Mr Cinderella 2 (Vietnam Sat YT) ep 5 of ? - I honestly don’t entirely understand what is going on. But it all seems to be the Psychotic Pretty Kitty’s fault. Oo caught in the act of drug-induced cheating - DRAMA. Dung should cut his losses and leave - cute doctor husband or not. Lovely kiss from the sides. I gotta say, this cast is hella pretty. I’m not mad that this team is kind of turning into GMMTV Vietnam.
Tumblr media
It's Airing But...
I Feel You Linger in the Air (Fri grey) ep 8 of 12 - I will try to watch 8-12 and do a series review when I get back in November but... not sure I will be able to. Fingers crossed.
Love in Translation (Sat iQIYI) ep 8fin - completed, my final thoughts in Nov.
What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - I find this series more fun to binge, so I'm waiting until it completes its run.
Tumblr media
I Cannot Reach You AKA I Can't Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai (Japan Tues Netflix-Japan & ????) - in classic JBL fashion, I Cannot Reach You could not be reached.
Can I Buy Your Love From A Vending Machine? AKA Sono Koi, Jihanki de Kaemasu ka? (Japan cinema release in-country only) - This one is a movie from Japan so in customary fashion who tf knows when (or if) it will get international distribution. Salaryman Ayumu Koiwai just can't tear his eyes away from the strong, muscular man as he checks on the stocks of the vending machine in his office.
One Room Angel (Japan Gaga) - Yukinori, a convenience store clerk was accidentally stabbed by a thug and nearly died. He returns home to find an angel waiting for him. The drama is an adaptation based on Harada’s manga of the same name (which I did not like). With only five episodes and a good chance this won’t end happily, I am going to wait and let you tell me how it goes. Binge it when it is complete if it's safe.
Tumblr media
In Case You Missed It
GMMTV posted their initial 2024 line up, here's my round up of the BLs. It includes 2 JBL adaptations, 2 KBL adaptations (that they aren't admitting to) and vampires. If you want to know how I did on the predictions that's here and the answer is: very badly indeed.
I am watching the Y Journey: Stay Like a Local series. But they are essentially tourist board long-form advertisements. I enjoy the promo aspect with regards to the food. And seeing some of my favorite pairs do interesting other things is kinda fun. But the whole thing feels disingenuous when gay marriage is still not legal and it’s essentially the Thai government (making these ads) who is stopping that from happening. I have a similar feeling to iQIYI as a content provider. It’s not queerbaiting in the original sense of the term, but it’s pretty gross to use gay for advertising with a nationalistic propaganda agenda, when being gay is still not legal in your country. Yes I struggle to reconcile myself with this on the regular, and it’s an ongoing hypocritical struggle for my tiny withered tired old heart.
Tumblr media
All that said, this week's installment, He’s Not Happy, did make me want to rewatch Make a Wish. There’s no kissing in this series but JudoFluke kiss beautifully, so If you haven’t seen Make a Wish, it’s very good and I recommend tracking it down.
Next Week Looks Like This
Tumblr media
Upcoming October BL
10/26 My Dear Gangster Oppa (Thai iQIYI) 8 eps - nerd retreats from the world into an online game and makes friends with a little group, they meat in real life, one of them is hot, they fall in love, hottie turns out to be a gangster. Trailer
10/31 SHADOW (Thai Gaga) - this is a horror BL featuring ghosts and other paranormal elements in a high school setting. I'm not wild about Thai horror (or horror at all). It features Singto (who did paranormal BL He's Coming to Me) opposite Fluke N (who's done a couple horror's before). Also Fiat. Dan suffers from sleep paralysis, and in his dreams he sees a shadow that suffocates him. It gets worse when he transfers schools.
2023 forthcoming BL master post (see comments, some are inaccurate, NOT KEPT UPDATED).

Date With Death
Chapter 8
A sneak attack.
Wednesday’s fingers went to the spot Enid kissed. Surely, life was mocking her with all this affection a few hours before death kissed her as well.
Enid was giggling into her hand as she continued to change the lock screen.
“I finally managed to surprise you this month, Wends! Oh, I’m definitely sending a copy to myself so I can print it.”
It had become a monthly ritual for the two–Enid trying to surprise or sneak up on Wednesday. The successful attempts being few and far in between made the victories all the more sweet for Enid. Not many people could claim they had successfully sneaked up on Wednesday Addams, alive and unscathed.
“Your stealth has certainly improved, Enid.”
“I learned from the best!”
Enid proudly held up Wednesday’s phone, now displaying the new lock screen.
Wednesday didn’t think it was possible to fall in love even more, but here she was, heart about to burst with affection as Enid flashed her a smile. A smile that would be wiped away when the news of her passing reaches the werewolf.
Wednesday closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. This was not the time to be pitying herself or Enid. They didn’t have many hours left together. She was going to make the most of it.
“Is something wrong, Wednesday? Do you not like the photo? I can change it back!”
“No, Enid. It is a... good photo. No need to change it back.”
The slightly panicked look on Enid’s face quickly changed to suspicion.
“Are you sure?”
“Quite sure.”
Enid tilted her head and stared at Wednesday for a few more seconds before sighing and handing her back her phone.
“Good. I wouldn’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
“You have not done that in many years.”
Many, many years. Enid always put her comfort first. Physical touch was a privilege given to the werewolf and the werewolf alone. It was a universal law at this point.
Wednesday glanced at her new lock screen. It really was a good photo. Noting the time, it looked like they had a few more hours before the ceremony started. Everyone was prepared, so to speak. The sun was out, bright and warm. All good omens for the coming wedding.
Enid was looking fondly at her bridesmaids when Wednesday’s question caught her attention.
“Enid, was there anything you wanted to do before the ceremony?”
Was there? No one had really asked her about anything other than the wedding for the longest time. Well, no one but Wednesday.
Their weekly brunches were like a breath of fresh air for the blonde. Wednesday turning down a bridesmaid spot had turned into a silver lining. She still had someone to talk to who wasn’t always concerned with which flowers they’d buy or what cake flavor they’d get or what color Ajax’s tux should be.
The raven knew when to talk to her about anything but the wedding and when they did have to talk about the planning, looking for a venue, choosing flowers, tasting cakes, looking for the best orchestra (because of course they needed live music), Wednesday kept her steady through it all.
Was there anything she wanted to do? Was there?
“In case you wanted to flee at any moment, I ensured my vehicle’s petrol tank was filled. There are also fake documents, untraceable credit cards and cash in the glove compartment if you wish to hide from your family for an indefinite amount of time.”
Enid started giggling. Giggling turned into laughing and laughing made her teary eyed with joy. Of course Wednesday would prepare for just about everything. Even her running away! She laughed a little more when Wednesday pretended to give her a confused look before she smiled amusedly.
“Did you really prepare all that stuff?”
“Of course, I have prepared for every scenario.”
“Will you be running away with me?” She teased, closing her eyes and leaning her head on the raven’s shoulder. Enid thinks helping a runaway bride is very on-brand for her best friend.
“If you so wished.”
“Where would we go?”
“I have always wanted to travel to Chernobyl, but knowing you, we would most likely end up in Osaka to look at the cherry blossoms you claim to love.”
Osaka didn’t sound bad at all. Enid sighed wistfully. She hoped Wednesday would always be a part of her life.
“Hey, Wends?”
“Yes?”
“I really hope things won’t change between us after I get married. Like, I know I can be a lot but don't get tired of me, alright?”
Ah. If only she had more than hours to prove to Enid how she could never get tired of her.
“I can’t promise things won’t change, but I hope for that as well, Enid. I will be your friend for as long as I walk this earth.” It surprised even Wednesday how she was able to keep herself from spewing out the truth about how she felt and what would eventually happen in that moment.
It was for the best.
Enid was content with that. Cryptic? Sure. That's how she knew Wednesday was being truthful.
Enid was content as long as she stayed in Wednesday’s life. She knew she could never be anything more. She was Wednesday’s first real friend, of course she’d be treated better. Don’t get her wrong, she loved Ajax, but she couldn’t help but wonder how all this would’ve gone if she’d confessed to Wednesday before Ajax came back into her life.
Maybe in another life they were together. More than best friends. Lovers?
She’d have to settle for friendship in this life. Afraid to ever push Wednesday for anything more lest that push her away totally.
“Did you have something you wanted to do before I got married?”
“Well, I’ve always wanted to use your family as target practice.”
“ Wednesday. ”
“I jest. I am quite content just spending time with you. I suspect we won't have many chances to talk after today. If you desire anything else, I will obtain it for you.”
Enid’s eyes widened slightly. That was all? To talk to her?
“Did you have something important you wanted to talk about?”
“Well, I should inform you that I gave Ajax the so-called ‘shovel’ talk.”
“How did that go?” The blonde could feel a smile coming to her face. Honestly, she's surprised Wednesday didn't show up with an actual shovel in hand.
“You will be happy to know that he seems to think very highly of you.”
“I sure hope so. We are getting married, after all.”
“He even offered to fight me in exchange for my blessing.”
Enid is even more surprised at that. She didn't think Ajax would go that far. They would definitely need to talk about his self-preservation skills after all this. No one sane would challenge Wednesday Addams, after all.
"Wow," was all Enid could say.
"I was also mildly surprised. It is good to know you're not marrying a coward, Enid."
Giggles spill out of Enid again at Wednesday’s very Addams observation. She's pretty sure this is the first time Ajax has ever actually impressed her best friend. Better late than never?
“Did you threaten him?”
“Only in the end. I was operating under the assumption that he knew his life would be in peril were he to even think of hurting you.”
Enid chortled. It wouldn’t be Wednesday if she didn’t threaten Ajax, after all. Even if she was impressed.
“Enid?”
“Yeah?”
“It should go without saying that if anything were to happen, my family will take care of you. Please don’t ever forget that.”
Wednesday seemed to be very candy with physical touch today. Her hand was cool above Enid’s as the raven squeezed it to emphasize her point.
Enid was sure Wednesday would go on a rampage if she found out anyone had messed with her. She’d done so many times in the last few years. All totally legal rampages, of course, or so she’d been assured by Gomez.
“Thank you, Wednesday.”
Enid flipped over her hand to reciprocate Wednesday’s hold before squeezing tightly.
No matter what, Enid knew Wednesday would be there for her, and the girl has never given her a reason to think otherwise.

Ambassador to Madness- Arranged Marriage AU (that plays a bit more like a Fake Marriage AU); All Bilbo wanted was to be an ambassador to one of the richest kingdoms in Middle Earth. Upon meeting its prince, his opinion is greatly lessened. However, Bilbo still finds himself agreeing to play the part of his consort to help free Erebor from the gold mad Thror. Turns out, Thror may not be as blind as his grandson thinks, and intends to use Bilbo to get rid of Thorin once and for all.
Ghost of a Chance- Wedding/Ghost of the Past AU; Bilbo's young co-worker, Tauriel, needs somebody to walk her down the aisle at her wedding and turns to her "work-dad". Bilbo had been all for helping her out until he gets to the venue and is faced with Thorin Oakenshield. A man he had left in the past after he escaped out a window during their one night together. However, the older and charming version of the man he met in uni is slowly winning him over. Which will come in handy because Bilbo is fairly certain he is being stalked by a ghost at this hotel…
Guarding Alliances- Guardian of Kings sequel; Bilbo Baggins, Ushmar Uzbâdu and newly engaged to the King of Erebor, must now face a challenge of a different kind: a manipulative Elf King. However, with his own brand of finding trouble and getting out of it again, Bilbo may just be able to get to the heart of the matter and improve relations between their kingdoms forever.
Once Upon a Dream- Sleeping Beauty AU; Prince Thorin's birth was supposed a happy affair in the Kingdom of Erebor until Smaug appears demanding the Arkenstone. Gandalf helps ease the curse, but Thorin is destined to lose his soul by his majority unless he receives true love's kiss. Meanwhile, Prince Bilbo has grown up in the Shire dreaming of a mysterious figure with blue eyes. Cue Thorin's approach with the promise of adventure. Bilbo accepts, unaware of the danger that awaits him. So long as he's with Thorin, anything to see those blue eyes…
The Twelve Transformations of Bilbo Baggins- Magical Transformation AU; Finding what he deemed as a puzzle box in the trolls' hoard, Bilbo is subjected to twelve magical transformations all of different duration and abilities. Getting the dwarves to Erebor might not be as easy as he thought.

The Lemon Legacy, Generation 1, Chapter 14 - Winterfestivities
That night, Ophelia is getting ready for bed when she hears a knock on the door.
Ophelia: Libby, hi. Do you want to come in?
In the months that they've known her, Ophelia has never invited any of them into her home. She was expecting to talk on the porch, but accepts the offer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Libby: I like what you've done with the place!
Ophelia: I know it's not much. My grandma sold it to me pretty cheap.
Libby: Those frat guys she rented to before you invited us over once, they were such slobs. You've definitely improved the place.
Ophelia: Thanks.
Tumblr media
They settle on the couch and Libby cuts to the chase.
Libby: Tell me if I'm overstepping, but you never mention your family, except your grandma, but it's just you on your family tree. Did something happen to your parents? Do you not have anyone to spend the holidays with?
Tumblr media
Ophelia: If anyone else asked, I'd change the subject, but I know I can trust you. I'm not quite ready to talk about my parents or the issue with my family tree. I hope that's okay. You don't need to worry about me. I'll be fine.
Libby: No one should be alone for Winterfest!
Tumblr media
Libby: I know we just started seeing each other, I'm not making this a 'meet the parents' thing. As far as they know, we're still just friends-
Ophelia: Lib, sweetie, I really am fine. My gran travels a lot, she's gone right now. I'll celebrate with her when she's back in Sulani.
Tumblr media
Libby: I can always tell my parents I can visit them later.
Ophelia: Hey, no, come here. You are so sweet, but I'm not a fragile little doll that needs to be constantly entertained, okay? We had a great day today. That was my Winterfest. I want you to spend time with your family.
Tumblr media
Libby: Okay. Knowing my mom, she'll send me home with some treats. We can share those when I get back in town.
Ophelia: It's a date. Hopefully the Watcher will download the Hot Chocolate Maker mod.
Tumblr media
Before Libby leaves for the night, the two sneak in a kiss. Or two. Or three.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's Winterfest!
Taking Libby's words to heart, Ophelia decides she's not going to spend Winterfest, or any other time, alone and decides to do something she was never allowed to do as a kid - adopt a kitty cat!
The adoption agent is not pleased that he's working on Winterfest
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ophelia: Wook at the widdle baby! So cuuuute!
I can't tell if this kitten is pleased or annoyed with the attention. Either way, she's about to be treated like a queen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ophelia is smitten. She adopts the little gal on the spot!
Welcome to the Lemon Legacy, Marshmallow!
Tumblr media
Her new owner may be overly affectionate, but she got Marshmallow this nice, comfy bed. This lazy little girly could get used to living here.
Tumblr media
Father Winter has visited Ophelia and Marshmallow!
She wasn't expecting anything from anyone today, so Ophelia is thrilled to say the least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh. Apparently Father Winter caught wind of Ophelia's nasty "borrowing" habit and put her on the naughty list this year.
Father Winter: I better see this behavior change by next year, young lady!
Maybe this is a wake up call. Or maybe Father Winter should lock up his valuables.
Tumblr media
Ophelia is surprised to see Hector Laurent on her doorstep.
Ophelia: Hector? Merry Winterfest! What brings you here?
Hector: I was doing business in town and thought I'd stop by to chat.
Ophelia: Business on Winterfest?
Hector: Business doesn't take holidays off, my dear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hector: Excited for the Pizzazz-Ojo wedding?
Ophelia: Of course! I'm thrilled to get to work with your team.
Hector: That's the attitude I like to see! I just wanted to tell you we're getting the venue ready on Sunday. Are you available to meet the band and check things out?
Tumblr media
Ophelia: Of course! I can't wait to get started.
Hector: Perfect. I knew I saw something special in you, kid. I'm glad other people are starting to see it too. It's late now, go get some rest. I've got to head back home to the kids and missus. Merry Winterfest, dear.
Tumblr media
Rest well, Ophelia and Marshmallow. May you have more exciting Winterfests in years to come.

Warnings: If you haven’t read the other one shots in this collection you may be confused by some of the references. Even though the one shots all stand alone there was a common thread linking them in one way or another. Otherwise, this one shot is very sweet and fluffy.
Author’s notes: A strange thing happened while I was writing the 25th one shot, the part that should have ended this collection. It was supposed to be something that could stand alone but still tie this connected assortment of one shots together.  The more I wrote the more I realized that it wouldn't work with this collection but could work as the basis of a new novel, one that is still a work in progress. Titled "Stopping Winter" it takes place during and after World War II when future Steve Rogers returns to find Peggy and marry her ... at least that was the original plan.  Once he returns he realizes he may have to change his initial plans to improve his chances of saving Bucky.  I can tell you that at the end of that work you'll be able to read the mysterious letter that was given to June.   Her grandmother, Gladdie, who was referred to in the very first one shot of this collection will have a significant part in the book in its post war setting.  Hopefully, that will be enough to tempt readers to explore "Stopping Winter." You can access it on Wattpad, AO3 or FanFiction.net. My username on all three platforms is SJSmith56.
<<Part 23
💍
Waking up next to Bucky Barnes is an experience.  First of all, the man is a cuddler, and if you are someone who likes that, like me, then it is the best thing in the world to wake up in the arms of an incredibly handsome super soldier.  He's also affectionate, always kissing me good morning, totally ignoring how I look or if I have morning breath because according to him, I am "the most beautiful woman he knows."  I'll take that and I believe it now because I believe in him, the man I fell in love with almost eight months ago.
He started out as the new neighbour, who irritated me to no end when he used my paid parking space to park a truck filled with his belongings while he and his friend Sam moved Bucky into the apartment suite next door to mine.  But he quickly won me over with his good manners, compassion, and absolute drop-dead sexiness.  About 6 weeks after our meeting, we became lovers, and I began thinking of us as a couple.  Even though he still rented his apartment he practically lived here with me, and it was wonderful.
I woke up first, on this weekend that I had off from my job as a librarian for the New Orleans Public Library.  For several minutes I laid in Bucky's arms enjoying the feeling of his strong arms enclosing me.  Carefully, I turned around so I could look at my guy, my boyfriend, the man I loved.  His strong features were calm, the little crease he often got between his eyes when he was concentrating was almost invisible; his thick dark lashes that covered his eyes, lashes that any woman would love to have, except his were courtesy of the super soldier serum, were peacefully staying closed.  Everything on Bucky's body was constantly repairing and replenishing itself, although grey hairs were now reappearing in his beard, a welcome sign of aging for him.
"You're watching me," he murmured.  "I can feel it."
"You do the same when you wake up first," I answered, then kissed him lightly on the lips.
"Now you've done it," he smiled as he pulled me closer.
The man was instantly ready for some morning love, another thing that I loved about him.  Before Bucky most of my encounters were laced with a sense that my partner was doing me a favour by being intimate with me.  But James Buchanan Barnes always made me feel like I was the centre of his universe, the one he worshipped before all others.  I never wanted that to end.
As he made breakfast for both of us later, he received a text on his phone, smiled and answered it.
"Sam is moving in with Ingrid," he said.  "He wants help tomorrow with taking some things over to her place."
"She was hoping it would happen," I replied.  "You know she fell for him when he laid that shrimp boil out on this very table."
"When did you fall for me?" he asked.
"When you took me out for dinner for our first date," she said.  "You were such a gentleman and then that kiss just sealed the deal for me.  When are you going to move in with me?"
"I thought I was already," he answered.  Then he put his hands up when I began to counter that.  "I know I still have the apartment, but I didn't want to break the lease, just in case you tired of me and sent me packing."
"Never," I said, putting my hand on his.  "You're perfect, even with all of your imperfections."
He leaned back in a mock swoon.  "I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult."  Then he leaned towards me and put his face close to mine.  "I think you're pretty perfect, too.  Actually, I wanted to take you somewhere today.  What do you say to a ride on the motorcycle?"
"Okay," I said, slightly puzzled.  "Where are we going?"
"Just want to look at something," he said.  "It's near Audubon Park.  We can go to the zoo after, if you want."
How could I say no?  Audubon Park was one of my happy places.  After cleaning up the breakfast dishes Bucky helped me put my leather jacket on, the one he bought me so we could ride his motorcycle together.  Then we stopped at his apartment to pick up the motorcycle helmets.  He was always making sure I was dressed properly for a ride on his Harley.  Soon we were on our way, enjoying the clear skies and open roads.  About half a block from the larger part of Audubon Park, Bucky pulled up in front of an off-white stucco covered two story home.  Waiting for me to dismount first Bucky pulled his helmet off and looked up at it, then at me.
"What do you think?" he asked.  "I've been thinking of buying a house and this one just appealed to me."
"You're thinking of buying this?" I confirmed, then looked at the other houses.  "Bucky, this is one of the nicer areas in New Orleans.  That looks like a big house.  Are you sure you need that much?"
"Well, I don't know," he replied.  "I could always have roommates."  I gave him a look which made him laugh.  "I get along with people."
Behind us a car pulled up and a woman got out of the car approaching us.
"Good morning, Mr. Barnes," she said, then looked up at the house.  "I'm Janet Dufour.  You're right on time."
"Hi Janet, this is my girlfriend June Roberts," he said.  "I like the look of the outside but it's the inside that counts.  Can we get the tour?"
"Certainly," she said, stepping to the fence and opening it for us.
After keying in a code on the lockbox Janet unlocked the door for us and allowed us to step in first. As she began describing the house, I looked at Bucky, noticing the soft smile he had on his face.  The place was absolutely stunning, with beautiful hardwood floors throughout, two staircases up to the second floor, and an open plan feel that still respected the character of the home originally built in 1943.  The kitchen was modern, with a gas range, and stainless-steel appliances, having been remodelled just a couple of years previously.  There was a living area, dining area, a large family room, a guest bedroom and a full bathroom on the main floor.  Opening the door to the back yard Janet showed us there was a covered porch, grassy area, patio and a two-car garage off a back alley, apparently a rarity for this area.  Upstairs were four bedrooms of varying sizes and two full bathrooms, one of them an ensuite for the master bedroom.  There was also an upstairs laundry room.
"There is air conditioning throughout for our hot summers," added Janet, as we came back downstairs, "plus central heating for the cooler times.  We are in flood zone X, which didn't get flooded during Hurricane Katrina and although there is an increasing risk of flooding over the next 30 years more anti-flooding measures are being taken all the time.  There is a generator to keep up the power during blackouts, which, as you know, can happen during storm season, and the garage has solar panels on it.  The foundation has also been raised.  It's a beautifully maintained home and being so close to Audubon Park is in a very desirable area."
"Thank you," said Bucky, smiling his charming smile at her.  "Do you mind giving us some privacy so June and I can talk?"
"Not at all," she replied.  "I'll be out on the back porch."
"What do you think?" he asked, after Janet left us.  "I like it."
"We didn't ask the price," I said, starting for the door to ask Janet.
"I already know it," he replied, calmly.  "$1,350,000."
My jaw dropped as did my heart.  As we were walking through the house, I could see us in there, see us with a family, maybe a dog.  I pictured us going for walks in Audubon Park, or down to the levee that was on the nearby Mississippi River.  He just looked at me with a kind look on his face, as I guess a whole range of emotions were playing over mine.
"June," his voice was soft.  "Do you like the house?"
"I love it, but we can't afford it," I said, trying not to sound disappointed.  "I mean, you can't afford it, can you?"
"If I could afford it, would you marry me?" he asked.
"Bucky, I would marry you whether you could afford it or not," I replied, then saw he was holding something out to me in his fingers.
"So, you don't care if we live in a one-bedroom apartment, or a grand five-bedroom house like this one," he confirmed.  "You'll marry me either way?"
It was an engagement ring, and I began to cry.  "Is that what this is all about, a proposal?" I stammered.  He nodded, then gently took my hand and poised with the ring at my fingertip, waiting for my answer.  "Yes!" I exclaimed, nodding my head.  "I want to marry you."
"Good," he said, sliding it on.  "The house is ours if you want it.  I have the money.  I just didn't really want to use any of my settlement to buy one until I found someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with."
At that point I threw my arms around his neck, and we kissed, with me crying while he chuckled.  I could feel his hand lift from my back and heard the door to the back yard opening, followed by Janet entering.  I turned towards her, wiping my eyes.
"I take it she said yes to the proposal and the house?" she asked, grinning.
"Yes," answered Bucky.  "Give them the offer I discussed with you, in cash, closing date as soon as possible after the inspection is done."
"Will do," she said.  "I'll just get the offer sheet from my car.  Congratulations.  It is a beautiful home, just waiting for the right couple to begin their life together."
We were alone again, and Bucky was kissing away the tears that were still on my face.  "I love you," he said softly.  "You're exactly what I wanted in a woman; smart, beautiful, affectionate, and so many other qualities that I can't even begin to list.  You do want kids, right?"
I nodded, still a little overcome with the emotion.  "The long bedroom upstairs would be perfect for a nursery.  I pictured nursing a baby in there.  When do you want to get married?"
"Soon," he said.  "We'll go over to the zoo but stop at the Tree of Life.  It's one of my favourite spots in the city and apparently you can get married there.  Then we'll have a big party at a unique place."  He looked down for a moment, seemingly embarrassed.  "You can say no if you don't agree but I kind of want it at the World War II Museum.  We could have a swing orchestra playing 1940s tunes.  Those guests who were military could wear their dress uniforms."
As I watched his face light up, I realized how much it would mean to him to honour his pre-Winter Soldier past.  The thought of him wearing his uniform intrigued me.
"Would you wear your uniform?" I asked.
He smiled that charming smile of his again.  "I think the Smithsonian has it," he replied.  "I would have to ask them if I could borrow it.  It would probably have to be let out because I grew after the serum."
"Or maybe you can find someone who could make you a new one," I suggested.  "Those old wool ones would be torturous to wear in the heat and humidity here.  I would like to see you in uniform, after all that I read about what a ladies' man you were, back in the day."
Janet came back inside interrupting our repartee.  She entered all of our information on the purchase offer, and we signed it, then shook her hand and went back out to the motorcycle.  Once again, Bucky made sure I was buckled up properly and my helmet tightened just right.  Getting on behind I held him around his waist.  Just a few minutes later we parked in the zoo parking lot and walked over to the Tree of Life.  Sam and Ingrid were there, waiting under the massive old oak tree.
"Well?" asked Sam, apparently knowing what was supposed to happen.
I held up my hand, showing off the ring and was immediately hugged by him and Ingrid.
"She loved the house," said Bucky, a smug grin on his face.
Ingrid hugged him next while Sam gave him the more manly pound hug.  After confirming that the couple were willing to be our best man and maid of honour we explored the Tree of Life as the site for the wedding ceremony.  It really was beautiful, full of natural beauty and majesty.  Bucky explained that it would have to be a quick civil ceremony as the city would only give us an hour's time frame for the wedding.  We also had to accept that we didn't have exclusive use as it was a public park, and anyone could wander by while the ceremony was going on.  He looked at me in anticipation as I stood underneath one of the massive branches, looking up at the sun peeking through the leaves.
"I want to get married here," I said decisively.  "It's beautiful."
All those gooey commercials and sappy movies showing the man lifting his fiancée off the ground and twirling her around in the air before lowering her for a romantic kiss were forgiven at that moment as Bucky easily lifted me up.  With laughter he twirled us around in a complete circle before lowering me and kissing me tenderly.  Sam and Ingrid just watched, with happy faces for both of us.  It really was an unbearably sweet moment, and I loved every part of it, as I gazed at those blue eyes on that incredibly handsome face of this man who made me feel more loved than anyone.
Together the four of us strolled through the zoo, trying to come up with a plan to get a wedding organized quickly.  Bucky brought up the war museum idea for the reception and Sam actually thought it was a good idea.
"There are several of us Avengers with military backgrounds, and proud of it," he said.  "Maybe we could even make it a bit of a 1940s dress up event, like the Christmas party.  Listen, why don't we talk more about it when you two help me move in with Ingrid tomorrow?"
It was agreed to discuss it more the following day and we spent the rest of the afternoon at the zoo and Audubon Park, even having a tasty hot dog lunch in one of the zoo food areas.  The next morning Bucky dropped me off at Ingrid's, taking my car to Sam's.  Together we went through her clothes, discarding some older garments to make room in the closet for Sam's clothes.  He was also bringing some furniture and we shifted her furniture arrangement to make room for it as she knew the dimensions.  When the guys came back, Joaquin Torres was with them, currently the Falcon.  We had met a few times and I liked his energy.  He was such an upbeat guy.  As soon as he brought in some of the boxes of clothes he came right up to me, giving me a hug.
"Congratulations," he said.  "I heard about the engagement.  Let's see what kind of rock Bucky gave you."
His eyes lit up when he saw the ring and he hugged me again, seemingly just as excited as I had been the day before.
"Hands off my fiancée, fly boy," growled Bucky as he entered carrying a chair.
"Aw, Sarge, I'm just happy for both of you and you wouldn't let me hug you," pouted the younger man, after giving me a conspiratorial wink.  "So, June got both hugs."
After putting the chair down Bucky stood up tall and straight looking down at the shorter Joaquin.  With an audible sigh he offered his hand to the younger man and gave him a quick pound hug.
"That's all that Sam gets," he stated.  "Don't expect it to be a usual thing."
With a cheeky grin Joaquin headed down to get the next load of possessions.  I offered my arms to Bucky, and he stoically accepted them, really milking the strong and silent stereotype for all it was worth.  We all knew the truth about him, and he knew we did.  After a couple of hours of unloading and unpacking Sam was finally officially moved in and he thanked all of us.
"What do you say to another shrimp boil and some beer?" he asked.  "Delancey's has a good one and their beer is always cold."
Bucky drove my car again, with me in the front and Joaquin in the back.  He asked if we could stop somewhere, as he promised his girlfriend something from one of the unique shops in New Orleans.  Bucky made it known it was a big imposition, but he stopped at the place.  While Joaquin was in the shop Bucky took the time to kiss me, then played with my hair while he gazed at me.  When it seemed like Joaquin was taking an awfully long time Bucky opened his car door, just as the younger man stepped out of the shop, holding up the bag like it was a trophy.
"Sorry, it took so long," he said.  "When I called they said they had one in stock but it wasn't on the shelf when I got here so they had to go looking for it.  I didn't realize it was taking so long otherwise I would have come out and told you."
"Right kid," sighed Bucky.
We pulled up at a packed Delancey's, wondering if we could get in but Sam texted that they were already inside.  As we stepped into the lively place there was a big cheer and I realized it was an engagement party for us, as I saw several of my friends and work colleagues there with beers already in their hands.  There were other Avengers there as well, coming forward with hugs for me and handshakes for Bucky although the women gave him hugs as well.  He looked at me once we got through the gauntlet and shrugged.
"I had nothing to do with this," he said.
"That's right, you didn't," declared Sam, with a grinning Ingrid by his side.  "We knew it was coming, and Ingrid assured me there was no way June was saying no so we organized a party for you, complete with shrimp boil and beer."
When the food was laid out on a long table that stretched from the front to the back of the bar, loaded with more shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn than I had ever seen in my life, everyone grabbed a spot and began eating.  Just like the party at my place there was no sound except the loud background music from the jukebox and the contented sounds of people eating, moaning and groaning at the sheer ecstasy of buttery juices falling down their chins from the perfectly cooked food onto the newsprint covered table below them.  It was an event that was talked about for ages, and repeated a year later when ... well, that's another story.
After eating every last morsel of food, the bar staff came to clean up, bringing wet wipes and paper towels galore to all of us, carrying garbage bags with them to take away the discarded shrimp shells and bare cobs.  The tables were relocated to open up a dance floor and the music was cranked up.  It was loud Cajun music then it suddenly stopped, and Sam stepped forward.
"We picked a song for Bucky and June to dance to," he said to everyone.  "It probably came out after he shipped out for Europe in 1943 but it's something those of us who know you have seen happen right in front of us.  Bucky, being the good dancer he claims he was, should be able to do a few turns of this with his girl."
As the strains of People Will Say We're in Love began, Bucky smiled.  "I can dance to this."
Just like in those romantic movies he began to lead me across the floor, showing everyone what a light-footed dancer he was.  We were in our own world, just us two, on the dance floor as that beautiful song enveloped us in its magic.
The magic was repeated two months later when we danced our first dance to the same song at the wedding reception at the National World War II Museum.  Bucky wore his replica uniform that the Smithsonian had actually custom made for him.  He even cut his hair and had a close shave that took years off, making him look much younger.  I found a flirty forties style wedding dress with lace shoulders that I loved as soon as I put it on.  As he twirled me around the dance floor the skirt swished around my legs, making me feel like a modern-day Ginger Rogers.
It had been a beautiful day for a wedding as the perfect weather had just enough breeze to keep the humidity and heat at bay.  The ceremony at the Tree of Life was meaningful and we both cried a little during the vows.  Afterwards, Bucky hugged everyone and I mean everyone.  He was so happy, making me feel like our marriage was the culmination of all his dreams.  Certainly, marrying him was the culmination of all of mine.  We took pictures at Audubon Park then relaxed at our new home with the wedding party and some few close friends before the reception.  It was wonderful.
The limousine dropped us off at the museum and it was everything Bucky pictured in his mind when he thought of having the reception there.  The aircraft and vehicles that were on display above us and around the space lent a retro feel to it.  There were several young women dressed in period appropriate costume for pictures with the guests.  The decorations were done to match the banners and decorations of 1943.  A thought occurred to me and I leaned close to Bucky when we sat at the head table.
"I really like this," I said.  "It doesn't bring back bad memories?"
A wistful smile crossed his face.  "No, it really doesn't," he admitted.  "It reminds me of before I shipped out, when wearing the uniform meant you were part of something big.  I wasn't looking for it but I know of many marriages that started at a dance at a base, or at a war bonds rally.  It was a more innocent time, I guess.  Until we got on the battlefields and found a different reality."
I squeezed his hand, receiving a kiss on the cheek for my concern, setting off a round of spoons tapped against the water glasses asking for more kissing from us.  We both happily obliged, still caught up in the adrenaline of our new status.  During the speeches Ingrid told some stories about me; Sam told some stories about Bucky; people laughed.  With a full live swing orchestra our first dance as husband and wife made me feel like the star of an old musical as my handsome soldier twirled me around the dance floor.  Between the time of first hearing People Will Say We're in Love at the bar then dancing to it at our wedding Bucky found out it was from the musical Oklahoma.  We watched the Gordon MacRae, Shirley Jones movie at home and for a week afterwards I had to deal with Bucky getting up singing Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' in his loudest voice to get me out of bed.  It would have been irritating if it wasn't so cute.  Our marriage was going to be so much fun.
As the evening went on we did the usual cake cutting, throwing of my garter and the bouquet.  It's a secret who caught them because they just moved in together and were very emphatic that they were taking things slow.  Funny how they disappeared for about half an hour after.  After that things changed as the older people (not including Bucky) began taking their leave.  The younger people began asking for newer music so Bucky and I decided to leave for our wedding night so the others could have their music.  As we waited outside for the limousine Bucky was called in to sign for some additional alcohol, as our guests were a thirsty bunch.  While I stood on the curb an elderly man approached me, walking in from the parking lot.
"Is this the Barnes / Roberts wedding?" he asked, then laughed at his own question.  "Of course it must be.  You look just like your great grandmother."
"You knew her?" I asked, as she had been dead for twenty years.
"I knew her very well," he replied.  "Gladdie was one of a kind."
He must have known her because she was known as Gladdie to her friends.  Only those who didn't know her called her June.  I turned to him and took his hands.
"What's your name?"
"Steven Grant," he said.  "I first met Gladdie during the war, in England.  Then she met a friend of mine at a dance.  Small world.  But that's not important.  I just wanted to give my regards to you and to your husband.  I knew him back in the day as well, although I doubt that he remembers me.  It was so long ago, and he's been through so much since then."  He looked at his watch and frowned.  "I have to be going as I only have a few minutes."
"Bucky will just be a moment," I pleaded, sure that Bucky would want to meet with him.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart, but I really have to go," he said, his face showing his sadness, then he reached inside his jacket and pulled out an envelope.  "But if you could give him this, I would greatly appreciate it."
I took the envelope from him and turned to see if Bucky was coming.  When I turned back Mr. Grant was already walking away from me.
"Wait, please!" I called to him but he just waved his hand and walked to a part of the parking lot that was in shadow.  Bucky came out of the door and I grabbed him, pointing out Mr. Grant to him.  "He knows you, Bucky.  He said he knew my great grandmother."
Leaving me on the curb, Bucky ran after him and called out to the old man.
"Hey, mister, wait!" he yelled, before pulling up just a few feet from him.
Mr. Grant turned around and I wish I was in a position to see Bucky's face but the old man had the biggest smile on his.  Bucky lifted him up in a hug then gently put him down and the two men talked for a moment.  The old man got misty eyed and I could tell he was ready to leave.  Bucky stepped away a few steps and Mr. Grant stood straight and tall, as Bucky saluted him, a salute he returned.  Then the strangest thing happened.  A sparkling circle appeared behind Mr. Grant, growing in size until it was larger than him.  With another wave of his hand, he stepped inside the circle and it closed leaving Bucky alone in the dark parking lot.  His shoulders slumped and I was worried about him, so I quickly walked over to where he stood in the dark.  He wasn't crying but he did look somewhat sad.  Placing my hand on his shoulder made him turn around and he grasped me, surrounding me with his arms.
"It was him," he said, his voice muffled as he buried his face in my neck.  "It was Steve, the one who went back.  He did it.  The Bucky in that timeline never became the Winter Soldier."
I held him closely, letting him deal with the conflicting feelings of grief, happiness, and envy.  He had shared with me how Steve Rogers had recognized a letter received in the 1990s by Rebecca, Bucky's sister, apologizing for not being able to rescue Bucky, as being written by himself.  It was his and Rebecca's belief that he went back to rescue Bucky but hadn't been successful, resulting in a never-ending loop where his original self kept waking up in 2011 after so many years of being frozen, even while his returned self was in the past, seemingly reluctant to interfere with that Steve's fate.  He wanted to keep trying, even though Bucky wanted him to stay.
After Steve left and Rebecca died Bucky kept that secret until just a few weeks ago when he told me.  He knew it wouldn't change his past but he always wondered if Steve had finally been successful for at least one Bucky in the multiverse.  In my hand was the letter that Steve said to give to him and I pulled away showing it to my husband.  Several moments passed before he took it from my hand and looked at the writing on the front.  Then he slipped it inside his jacket pocket and kissed me.
"I'll read it later," he said, then he offered me his arm and we walked back to the curb in front of the museum.
The sound of loud modern music bled out of the building as we waited silently for the now late limousine.  When it arrived, the driver apologized profusely as he had experienced a flat tire.  He opened the door for us, and Bucky assisted me in getting in before stepping inside himself.  We had already decided to spend our wedding night at home as we didn't need a fancy hotel room to feel special.  Bucky made me feel special every day and he said the same about me.  On the drive to our house, he put his arm around me and kissed the side of my head.
"Thank you for saying yes," he whispered.  "Thank you for agreeing to a life with me."
I thanked him for being the good man I had waited for.  When we arrived at the house he paid the driver a cash tip, believing that the limo being late allowed him to experience the few moments with Steve.  He stepped out of the car and offered me his hand as I got out, ever the gentleman.  Then he inputted the security code on the door and we stepped inside.  We kissed each other tenderly in the darkness of the foyer, then my husband picked me up in his arms, his strong arms that would never let me fall, and carried me upstairs to our bedroom, where we began the future of our life together.

Raoul and Christine's wedding
. The day of their wedding is 12th June, 1882, 3 months after the Final Lair
. During those 3 months before the wedding, Raoul and Christine went to therapy together, help with the repairments of Paris Opera during their free time, sightseeing around Paris during their free times, Raoul and Christine dealing with their wedding and moving plans details etc.
. Their wedding day is an adorable day
. All of Raoul's groomsmen ( including Raoul's brother in laws , Christine's Paris opera Male friends and Raoul's cavalry friends who survived and got out of hospital stays at that point ) are dressed in refined tuxedos with ties/bowties in different shades of purple
. Christine's bridesmaids ( including Raoul's sisters Mathilde and Clothilde, sister in laws, Meg, and Cecile and Christine's Paris Opera girlfriends) are all dressed in beautiful gowns in different shades of purple.
. Raoul was dressed in a black and white tuxedo with a deep purple tie and a white rose corsage on the left chest of his tuxedo coat as he waited at the end of the aisle, trying his best to compose his nerves ( with the help of his groomsmen )
. It was a sunny summer day, the sun was shining bright and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue
. At the sound of the horn signifying the entrance of the bride, the church chorus began singing Lohengrin's Bridal March ( yes, that was the original Here Comes the Bride ), as the bridesmaids all entered with Raoul's nieces and nephews ( who are flower boys and girls )in two straight lines
. The flower boys ans girls all threw flower petals everywhere as they toddled down the aisle with the bridesmaids on the lead
. Then Christine arrived.
. Everyone gasped. Raoul's jaw hit the floor.
. Christine's wedding dress was in a beautiful shade of Ivory, decked with laces, florals and ribbons. The medium length Gloves on her arms are embroidered with silver details, the white heels fit her feet perfectly, the 2 strand necklace round her neck accentuated her loveliness even more, the white rose and Pearl tiara perched on top of her complex hairdo complimented with the long lacy veil attached to the tiara, and she wore her biological mother Lilith Nilsson's earrings
. Christine was a beaming, blushing bride as she walked down the aisle
. Madame Giry had to choke down a sob. Her older daughter shall be wed to the man she truly loves ( and who loves her truly as well )
. Raoul's nieces and nephews are all cheering on top of their lungs as Christine walked down the aisle
. Raoul : * sees Christine walking down the aisle * 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🔥🔥💗💗💗👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
. The Bishop of the church officiated the wedding.
. A lot of people are so emotional okay.
. Raoul and Christine been through so much to be together 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🥺🥺😭😭😭😭🤯🤯🤯🤯
. Vittoria Sorelli has flashbacks on her own wedding day to the late Comte Philippe De Chagny years ago. It was quite similar to this one, and she smiled at the memory as she looked up to one of the shining rainbow frescoes of the church.
. Christine says her vows in French, and Raoul says his in Swedish
. Everyone there was amazed at Raoul's improvement in his Swedish.
. The wedding bands are two simple yet elegant rings with a single diamond encrusted on each of them.
. As the Bishop announced ' I pronounce thee Vicomte et Vicomtess - you may kiss the bride!', Christine just grabbed Raoul by the collar and kissed him
. And the whole venue erupted to thunderous claps and cheers
. Later that night at the De Chagny Manor, a grand reception party was held
. There was a sumptuous buffet, a live chamber orchestra, dancing, laughing and drinking
. Everyone is having a wonderful time. Raoul's nieces and nephews all dancing in a circle, Raoul's sisters dancing with their husbands, Raoul and Christine's friends dancing with each other.
. Raoul and Christine's wedding dance is a waltz to ' La Valse De L'Amour ' 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🥺🥺🥺🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
. Raoul's nieces and nephews also performed a play they made up called ' The Singing Princess '. Its a fairytale adaptation of what Raoul and Christine had been through.
. As the party began to go into full swing, and the grown ups became drunk and the children became sugar high, Christine dragged Raoul to Raoul's old room of the Manor before he moves out and the two had their first time on the wedding night.

Strike a Pose: The Ultimate Guide to Perfect Wedding Photos
Tumblr media
Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories. As you prepare to walk down the aisle, one thing you may be thinking about is how to pose for your wedding photos. Posing can seem intimidating, but fear not! With the right guidance, you can ensure that every photo captures your beauty, happiness, and love.
At Studio Capture Life, we understand the importance of finding the perfect wedding photographer to immortalize your special day. Whether you're searching for the best wedding photographers or wedding photographers in Hyderabad, this guide will help you strike the perfect pose.
Tips for posing for your wedding day
Here are some days for you to pose for your wedding day:
Preparation is Key
Schedule an Engagement Shoot: An engagement shoot is the perfect opportunity to practice posing in front of the camera and get comfortable with your photographer.
Create a Mood Board: Collect inspiration from wedding magazines, Pinterest, or Instagram to identify poses and styles you love.
Communicate with Your Photographer: Discuss your vision, preferences, and any insecurities you may have with your photographer. They're there to make you feel comfortable and confident.
Posing as a Couple
Embrace Natural Interaction: Focus on genuine moments of love and connection with your partner. Hold hands, share a laugh, or steal a kiss to capture authentic emotions.
Incorporate Movement: Movement adds dynamism to your photos. Walk together, dance, or twirl your dress for romantic and lively shots.
Play with Different Angles: Experiment with standing, sitting, or leaning poses to find what works best for you as a couple.
Posing for Solo Shots
Find Your Best Angle: Discover your most flattering angles by practicing in front of a mirror. Tilt your head, shift your weight, or elongate your neck to create a more flattering silhouette.
Showcase Your Dress: Highlight the beauty of your wedding gown by posing in ways that accentuate its silhouette, details, and train.
Express Yourself: Your wedding day is a celebration of who you are. Let your personality shine through in your poses, whether it's a soft smile, a confident gaze, or a playful expression.
Perfecting Your Posture
Stand Tall: Good posture is essential for elegant and flattering photos. Straighten your back, relax your shoulders, and elongate your neck for a confident and poised look.
Chin Up: Avoid a double chin by lifting your chin slightly and elongating your neck. This simple adjustment can make a significant difference in your photos.
Engage Your Core: Engaging your core not only improves your posture but also adds strength and confidence to your poses.
Enhancing Your Surroundings
Utilize Props: Incorporate props such as bouquets, veils, or signage to add visual interest and personality to your photos.
Embrace the Venue: Take advantage of the unique features of your wedding venue, whether it's a stunning landscape, architectural details, or charming interiors.
Consider Lighting: Opt for natural light whenever possible, as it creates a soft and flattering glow. Golden hour, just before sunset, offers the most beautiful lighting for outdoor photos.
Conclusion
Mastering the art of posing for wedding photos is all about confidence, authenticity, and embracing the love you share with your partner. At Studio Capture Life, we're dedicated to capturing the essence of your love story and creating timeless memories that you'll cherish forever.

The Role of Beauty Services in Bridal Preparation
The Role of Beauty Services in Bridal Preparation The journey to the altar is not just about choosing the perfect dress or venue, but also about preparing the bride to look her best on her big day. Beauty services play a crucial role in this preparation, ensuring that the bride feels confident and radiant.To get more news about 조건만남, you can visit our official website.
Pre-Wedding Beauty Services Hair Care: Great bridal locks require love and devotion. Regular scalp massages and deep conditioning treatments stimulate hair follicles and add body. A diet rich in Vitamin B can also help bring out the hair’s natural shine.
Skin Care: A dermatologist can help those fighting acne by prescribing topical creams, oral pills, or administering facial peels. Regular facials clear blackheads, slough off dead skin cells, and improve circulation. Drinking plenty of water can also make the face look dewy and radiant.
Eye Care: Dark circles and puffiness are common afflictions for brides-to-be. A nightly application of eye cream, combined with adequate sleep, can improve the appearance of dark circles. Avoiding salty food can also help reduce eye swelling.
Lip Care: For that all-important kiss at the end of the ceremony, lips should be in the best possible shape. A Vitamin E stick can combat cracks and creases that weather and nervous lip biting can cause.
Bridal Beauty Services on the Wedding Day Makeup: On the wedding day, professional makeup artists can enhance the bride’s features, ensuring she looks her best in photos and in person.
Hair Styling: Professional hairstylists can create a hairstyle that complements the bride’s face shape, dress, and overall wedding theme.
Nail Care: Perfectly polished nails can make a bride feel groomed. Experts recommend gel treatments for brides, done one or two days before the wedding.
In conclusion, beauty services play a vital role in bridal preparation. They not only enhance the bride’s physical appearance but also boost her confidence, ensuring she feels her best on her big day.

Looking For a Videographer? Contact Our Staff At Dubai Fotographers!
Tumblr media
The ability to show the video to people all over the world is one of the most exciting aspects of videography. If the venue has a limited capacity or is located in a location that is difficult to access, it may be necessary to clear some names off from the invite list because it will be inconceivable for them to attend the ceremony. Everyone can feel as though they were present at the event even if they weren't because the video can be shared via email or shared on social media. So, are you looking for a videographer for your wedding ceremony? If yes, then contact us through our email/number, and book a service.
Are you looking for corporate photographer? Reach out to us at Dubai Fotographers. Not only will the use of high-caliber, professionally produced photography and video content on your website, social media, and other digital channels improve your visibility online, but it will also pique the interest of your readers. When it comes to improving the results your content produces, including images and videos is among the most effective tools you can use. When content is accompanied by an image, visitors have an 80 percent increased likelihood of engaging with it, and a 64 percent increased likelihood of remembering what they heard or read.
Customers have the opportunity to form a correlation with a company, well before you've met, by using videos and photos of your actual employees, office, and business. Because people connect with other people, this gives customers the opportunity to connect with you. It is impossible to discount the significance of this, particularly in sectors that provide professional services, such as the medical and financial industries, where maintaining a sense of connection and trust with clients is essential. You can always use stock images, but since they do not really show your original product, facility, or enterprise, your clients won't feel as though they are getting an authentic experience from your brand. To make an impact on your clients, we suggest you go for corporate photographer Dubai offered by Dubai Fotographers.
Reexperience all of the feelings. Wedding Photographers in Dubai are going to take your story and turn it into a hand-crafted film that is tailored specifically to you and your partner's love history. On the day of your wedding, you won't be able to be in every place at once, so we'll focus on capturing the little moments that can only take place once the complete family is in the same room: the conversations that take place between the eldest and the youngest members of the family, the stolen kisses, and the pure joy that everyone feels when they come together to honour love.

The Sims 4: New Game Patch (March 31st, 2022)
There’s a new Sims 4 update available for PC/Mac and Consoles.
PC: 1.86.157.1030 / Mac: 1.86.157.1230 / Console: Version 1.56.20.
Sul Sul, Simmers –
Since the release of the My Wedding Stories Game Pack, our team has been working on a patch update to address the issues you have raised. We are grateful for the feedback and have worked to get these improvements to you as soon as possible.
Our focus has been improving the gameplay surrounding wedding ceremonies. Some of the behavioral systems we’re working through in this pack are quite complex across platforms, and we know that your Sims don’t always behave the way you expect them to. This is part of what makes The Sims special, but we understand it can also be frustrating.
We are aware of the Error 0 Save Bug, are actively investigating and we will provide an update in the coming weeks. Please continue to report issues you might be experiencing via AnswersHQ.
Simmers deserve the best and it’s our goal to provide you with experiences you love from the moment you start the game. We continue to evaluate and improve on the best way we can deliver those experiences to the quality you expect.
We value your passion for this game and want to thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe and healthy,
The Sims Team
What’s New?
Nothing new in this update, just fixes.
Bug Fixes
My Wedding Stories
We fixed some issues with Ceremony Activities not working properly during Vow Renewal, Reception & Wedding Ceremony parties.
Sims will be able to go up and down short, medium and long aisles now during the Gather at Aisle interaction.
Partners will show up for wedding events now.
Center park – Myshuno Meadows is listed among the venues in the wedding event planner now besides other additional venues.
Sims will no longer set their bouquet aside before walking down the aisle.
Ring Bearers and Flower Pals will no longer refuse to walk down the aisle after running any interaction from the “Ceremony activities.”
We adjusted our recipe for wedding cakes so they should last much longer. And we made them Vegetarian-safe!
Everyone will be excited for Cake and Dessert at Wedding Ceremonies now.
Wedding Guests and Officiants will “Gather at the aisle” properly now.
The “Cut Cake with <Sim>” interaction is no longer available on cakes that were already cut.
Officiants will not just stand there any longer, but will actually do their officiant job.
Sims who bend to their spouse when performing a “Spousal kiss” will no longer rub their ear into the other Sims face, but will use their lips to kiss their spouse instead.
Some curtains have been updated to cast a slightly less dramatic shadow when placed indoors.
Sims will react more appropriately when running romantic socials while Slow Dancing going forward.
We added some clarity to the tooltip of Wedding Cakes by including further details about eligible spots for wedding cakes to be placed in.
Sims will receive the “Not selected as a sim of honor” or “Wasn’t invited to wedding” sentiments only when appropriate moving forward.
“Let’s Get Drinks” is no longer available for Child and Teen Sims on Bars during Rehearsal Dinner, Family Gathering, or Engagement Dinner parties.
Engaged couples will no longer be able to perform Wedding related actions on Wedding Cakes they do not own.
Sims will cut their wedding cakes even if it has a cake topper; Sims will simply remove the topper from the cake and place it in their inventory before cutting the cake with their couple Sim.
We also fixed an issue with Cake Toppers floating above Cakes after Sims “Take a Piece.”
When selecting guests in the Wedding Event Planner it will show all the sims that are related to both individuals of the couple now. So guests should no longer get uninvited after editing the guest list with a Sim who was not the original host for the event – both couple Sims will be considered the host now.
Guests attire Dress Code and Color will no longer reset after editing a Wedding event.
Simmers will be able to choose which aisle Sims should gather at and Sims “Gathering For Recessional” will be able to go up and down the aisles without issues now.
We taught Sims some manners so they will pay proper attention to Toasts now and will stop chattering.
Sims with a larger backside will no longer experience their derriere to clip through ymTop_GP11Casual.
When Engaged Sims perform the “Exchange vows and Kiss” or the “Exchange Vows with Officiant and Kiss” Ceremony event, Sims will complete both interactions now and will no longer forget about the Spousal Kiss.
We made some tweaks so you can expect more sunshine in Tartosa moving forward.
Officiant Sims will now give the wedding couple their full attention and avoid talking to other sims during their speech.
Sims will wear their existing formal outfit for weddings if it is appropriately colored.
For Engagement Dinners Sims will wear their party outfits and for wedding reception and the vow renewals events guest Sims will wear their formal outfit moving forward.
We caught some mischievous gnomes who added super glue to wedding chairs, causing Sims to be unable to get up after taking their seats. We cleaned those chairs meticulously and advised gnomes to be more prudent so Sims will be able to get up to do other wedding related actions after sitting down.
We added some musical backdrop to accentuate important wedding moments.
Also, we improved an issue with arms clipping during Paired Dancing.
We know it’s a big day and everyone’s excited, but that’s no reason to be rude.

The Phenomenon of the Immortal Sun: Jasper Hale x Fleur Swan, Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Summary: It was time for Fleur Swan to become Fleur Hale/Whitlock. She has started to adjust to the lifestyle of a vegetarian vampire as well as her powers, which she seems to develop a new one once in a while. But what happens when something happens that none of the Cullens are prepared for.
"Nature will get her way Though you took her for a fool Walking on the lake Frozen under you."
Run Cried the Crawling by, Anges Obel
When Bella got home from Vegas with Edward at her side it was the most pissed off my dad had ever been at her. He knew she would throw out the "I'll move away." Card on him but he wasn't fazed by it anymore. She was married, and a adult... he couldn't stop her. It was satisfying to see dad finally stand up to her, letting go of the fear of losing her. Bella eventually developed a guilty look on her face while Edward tensed by her side. She decided that she would have her honeymoon after Jasper and I got married, since dad would know we would both be out of the house. It confused me since she would have to wait 5 months just to go on her honeymoon, it also delayed her changing into a vampire. Since they both agreed to do it on there honeymoon.
Regarding me however my eyes are still a dark red rose color, which completely puzzled the Cullens. It confused me as well...knowing that after a year of transformation my eyes should be golden by now. I had never drunken an once of human blood but, my eyes were just as red as they were when I first turned. My blood lust got a lot better and I was beginning to gain control of my powers. It turns out I am also a shape shifter in a sense... I can transform myself into anyone I wanted to be. Things seemed to have calmed down it was nice to have a moment of serenity.
I stood in my room which was now void of my items being out on display. They were instead all in boxes stacked up on top of each other. Dad helped me out earlier in the day, it was nice to spend so one-on-one time with him while I still lived here. Bella was packing up too, excited to finally leave the house and become a vampire. She wouldn't let dad help her out however and spent her time locked up in her room. Probably waiting for Edward to enter and talk with her. I just sat down on my bed looking at my surroundings when I heard Jasper enter through my window.
"I was waiting for you to show up." I said grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and pulling him in for a kiss.
"Mmm, hello to you too." Jasper said.
"You're not going to believe who accepted my RVSP'd to the wedding..."
"Who is it?"
"My mom, her new husband is coming with her too."
"I hope they won't cause any trouble." Jasper grumbled.
"Well... the last thing I said to her was when I moved back down here when I was 15...I told her that next time I see her would be at my wedding. I then told her that she would enjoy the the open bar and her speech for me would be her barfing all over the place. So umm... be prepared for that to happen." I explained trying to hold in a laugh at the face Jasper made.
"Damn love...you're brutal sometimes."
"Thank you... that is so sweet to say!"
"You better get down to our place... Alice and Rosalie are waiting for you so they can throw you a Bachelorette party."
"Yeah... they'll probably break the house trying to get to me." I said and then began to laugh.
"Have fun darlin." Jasper said softly.
"You too, if Emmett, Edward, and Dean got you a stripper I will murder all of them."
"Don't worry about that darlin, we're merely going out to the woods to hunt bears... maybe a few mountain lions. Besides Edward won't be there anyway"
"Oh fun...wait, Edward won't be there?"
"Yeah... it seems he still holds a grudge after I called him a boy before the battle."
"Only a boy would be offended by that." I said
"I better go love you." Jasper replied and pecked my cheek.
"Love you too." I did the same thing, pecking his cheek. He left a few seconds afterward leaving me alone. I pulled on pair of boots and ran downstairs.
"I'll see you later dad, Rose and Alice are throwing me a little party."
"Alright Petal, love you."
"Love you too!"
I arrived at the Cullen's house in record time, my tracking ability had improved greatly. I zoomed up to the door and before I could open it Rosalie, Esme, Bree, and Alice stood there with excited smiles on their faces.
"The party has arrived." I said jokingly.
They all laughed and ushered me into the lounge room.
Bree had been living with us ever since the end of the battle, she struggled to conform to the diet after living off of human blood so long and she couldn't leave the house much since she was presumed dead. But Jasper has been helping her out a lot.
"I can't wait to see what you did with the venue outside... can I take a look?"
"No, you may not, Rosalie and I all agreed that you shouldn't see it until tomorrow. It'll be great with the pictures."
"Okay okay... is the dress finished?"
"Yes, now that you can see." Rosalie said, dragging me down to her room. A large vanity was set up with hundreds of makeup products. I turned around and saw my dress... it was beautiful.
(I know the dresses aren't exactly the same but just pretend the one showing off the back of the dress has sleeves haha.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a"Oh my gosh Rose, you know my style so well."
"You're going to look beautiful tomorrow." Esme said, her gracious smile still on her face.
"Thank you guys so much... for everything."
"No problem Fleur, I can't wait for you to officially be a part of the family." Alice replied.
"So, how is everything back at home?" Rosalie said, already playing with my hair.
"It's tense...dad's pissed at Bella, Bella is pissed at dad. I still can't believe she actually eloped."
"Doesn't surprise me any... Bella's priorities have certainly changed." Alice grumbled.
"Yeah... not gonna lie though Alice they've always been like that, she just hid it from you guys pretty well."
"Yeah... I guess so." Alice said disappointment was on her face.
"Let's talk about something else...Fleur, did Jasper tell you where you two were going for your honeymoon?"
"No... he wants it to be a surprise, I can't wait to see where we're going."
"I'm sure it's going to be fun." Alice said, nudging me playfully.
"If I could blush right now, I would." I said.
Timeskip: The next day.
"Rosalie this is like we rehearsed it... smile and don't kill my mother." I reminded her.
"I'll try my best... Why does Bella have to be a bridesmaid again?" She said, brushing back my long black hair.
"Because I don't need my mother talking my ear off saying how selfish I am."
I saw Alice shake her head before going back to steaming my dress in the background.
"Fleur, Rosalie? Where are you guys?" I heard my dad call out.
"In here dad!" I called back.
"Renee get your butt up here your daughter is getting married. Get over this stupid grudge." I heard dad yell. Rosalie, Alice, and I all laughed.
"Aww, you look beautiful Petal." Dad said, smiling at me. I said Renee in the background she had a shocked look on her face.
"Thanks, Dad, you can thank Rosalie and Alice for all of this. Mom? You gonna come over? I'm not infected with anything you know."
She scoffed and walked up to me, we both gave each other fake smiles.
"Did you get plastic surgery? Your face looks... I don't know more sculpted." She said.
"No mother I just aged... the last time you saw me I was 15, I'm 20 now." I lied, everyone knew most vampires' facial features perfected when fully changed. But I couldn't exactly tell her that.
"Okay..." She said in a skeptical voice. I heard Rosalie growl behind me.
"Renee knock it off." Dad said he had a curt look on his face.
"Well since it's your wedding day we thought you needed something blue." Renee started, her face didn't look too happy.
"And something old, besides your mother." Dad joked, Rosalie and Alice let out a chuckle.
"Nice Charlie," Renee said rolling her eyes.
Dad then opened a jewelry box that had a hairpiece in it. I knew it was grandma swans.
"It was Grandma Swans, I added the Sapphires though, I thought it matched your ring pretty well. When the time comes around you can give it to your daughter." Dad said he handed it to Rosalie so she could put it in my hair.
"Aww thank you so much dad." I said I was lucky I didn't have my dress on yet so I could hug him.
"Should've saved this for Bella." Renee grumbled quitely.
"Oh no I forgot her veil, Rose could you come with me?" Alice asked.
Rosalie hesitated before answering.
"Sure..." They walked out a few seconds later.
"So... you stuck true to your guns. I didn't see you until your wedding day." Dad just looked at the two of us and walked out.
"Yep."
"How many men did you date before you got engaged to this one. I know how bored you can get." Renee said, implying I sleep around a lot.
"He's the first and only man I've dated." Renee's reflection was shocked in the mirror.
"Well... I knew my Bella would do that but... not, you." She said in a condescending voice.
"You have no idea what Bella has done."
"So who is he?" Renee said, ignoring my previous statement.
"His name is Jasper and he's an amazing, kind human being." I answered back, pride-filled my voice. I could suddenly feel Bella's presence behind the wall in the other room listening in on us.
"Sure... we all know women like you say that when the men have slept with you."
"You're childish insults do not bother me anymore mother."
"What childish insults? I'm stating facts." Renee said, acting innocent.
"Yeah, facts you convinced yourself are true."
"All I know is if my Bella wouldn't gotten married so young. So let's cut to the chase how far along are you?"
'I'm not pregnant Renee, I need to go help Rose and Alice find that veil." I got up to walk away when I got an idea.
"Oh by the way, Bella got married at nineteen in Vegas."
Renee just stood there in shock. I smiled in satisfaction.
"Enjoy the open bar!"

Breaking up with Ushijima even though you still love him.
Requested By: @aonenthusiast
Pairing: Ushijima Wakatoshi x Reader, slight Semi x Reader
Scenario: #9 Breaking up with someone even though you still love them.
**Angsty, slight timeskip spoilers
Song: "Like We Used Too." Rocket to The Moon
Omiomi's 200 Follower Event
Tumblr media
"Y/n. I do not have time to entertain this relationship when I could be using that time to practice and improve." What infuriates you most about the situation is how calm he is, how logical he makes it sound even though there's no logial backing to it.
"Fine." You huff, at this point you're too angry that he ruined your entire lunch period by breaking it off in front of his friends, pushing past a Semi Eita who just wanted to comfort you.
"Don't touch me Semi." You storm down the hall and all the way to your dorm.
Finally allowing yourself to breakdown.
' What went wrong? Nothing. No it's not my fault. I supported him, I never asked for his attention often, he's just blind. God, he's stupid." You scream into your pillow, all your anger, frustration and hurt pouring out.
"Wakatoshi, that was a but harsh no?" Tendou is frowning at how blunt, how cold he was in breaking up it you.
Semi narrows his eyes slightly.
"And in the middle of the lunchroom? And right in front of us? Jeez, you brought it up as casually as you would ask someone what they're having for lunch."
Reon shakes his head in disappointment "You could've been more sensitive, the break came out of nowhere."
"Oh, my bad. Should I go and apologize?"
Tendou's eyes widen as Ushijima began to stand.
"Wakatoshi, you just broke up with them. They probably don't want to see you anytime soon."
Ushijima nods and continues to eat his lunch, oblivious to what the problem was in how he ended it. It was a clean break, straight to the point.
Over the next couple weeks Semi juggled his friendship with Ushijima and with you. You clearly needed someone, and because you dated Ushijima a lot of others didn't want to be friends, having some sort of grudge.
You eventually got better, feelings forming for Semi after the two of you graduated, who said that the two of you could take it slow and try it out for now, just in case you weren't ready for another relationship.
Which brings you to now, a couple years later still in a relationship with Semi.
"Are you sure you're ok with coming to Ushijima's game?" You roll your eyes and kids his cheek.
"Of course, I'm fine with it."
The two of you sat down, watching the game and you could've sworn that you made eye contact with Ushijima.
Shaking it off, you continue to watch the game, pointing out people you recognized from highschool. Laughing in disbelief when you spot the orange headed boy who jumped higher than you've ever seen someone jump.
"I heard he spent some time in Brazil." Semi whispers over to you, kissing your ear lightly pulling a giggle from you.
Ushijima watched the whole thing unfold, spikes getting more erratic and powerful as he dumped his emotions into the game. That would eventually be their downfall, as he started to miss more and more spikes as he saw you lean into Semi and look at him with those love filled eyes.
He came out of the lockeroom, clearly upset although none of his teammates knew what had happened to cause him to act like this.
"Ushijima!" Semi's waving with one hand, the other clasped around yours, a ring on your left hand.
His heart tightens with jealousy and he realizes that he never did take the time to get over you, always pushing away his thoughts of you and missing you until they resurfaced at the sight of you, and because he never took the care and time to get over you, he realized that he did still love you, and that he loved you back then too.
"Good job out there, really took me back to highschool." He smiled and you wave slightly.
You didn't change, well, maybe your hair, and you look more mature, but underneath that you were still his, no, you were still the same y/n that he loved.
"Does he love you as much as I did?"
The air grows thick with tension as you and Semi realize what's happening at the same time.
"I'll, uh, leave you two then, I'll wait at the car." Semi moves to kiss your temple, but flinches away when he catches Ushijima's hard glare.
"He loves me more than you did, considering you dumped me out of the blue because you wanted to focus on volleyball." You cross your arms, thumb playing with your engagement ring.
"Why did you not come back to me?" Ushijima's fave is stone cold, although, he never did express his emotions physically very well.
"You never asked, and I was heartbroken. Imagine your first love breaking up with you out of the blue to focus on a team sport that you clearly supported them in." You gnaw on your bottom lip, uncomfortable under his gaze.
"I still love you-"
"And I've moved on Ushijima." There's no more 'Toshi' or any variant of his name that you would use to call him.
"I'm getting married, and Semi wants you at the wedding. You were teammates after all, and he considers you a friend still."
Ushijima opens and closes his mouth, then nods, not being able to articulate how much he missed you and still loved you, and that he was just a stupid teenager that was willing to risk relationships to be at the top.
Your phone buzzes and you assume it's Semi messaging you that he's brought the car to the front of the venue to pick you up.
"It was nice seeing you Ushijima." You're turning away when he grabs your arm.
"Will you come to another game?"
You tense, and think for a moment.
"Maybe." You sigh, not really knowing what else to say, or how to tell him that this encounter was uncomfortable enough to last a lifetime.
He nods, satisfied with your answer.
The next and last time he saw you was at the wedding, you walking down the aisle looking perfect. But instead of what he thought would eventually be him at the alter, stood Semi, who beamed at the thought of being yours forever.

~~~~~
Stampede was by far one of your favorite parts of summertime. Calgary erupted with good food and drinks and some great music. Of course, it was the last weekend of Stampede before you were finally able to make your way downtown to enjoy it.
Having dipped out of work early, like pretty much everyone else since it was Friday after all, you went home and changed into a pair of denim shorts, a white tank and a light flannel shirt. Throwing on your seldom worn cowboy boots and grabbing your hat, you drove into downtown near Stampede Park.
Cale and his family were already here and you texted him to see where they wanted to meet up. Grabbing your wallet you clipped your keys onto your shorts and pocketed your phone after receiving Cale’s text in response. Finally throwing your hat on, you weaved through crowds of people after entering the park, making your way over to the location Cale had directed you to.
Spotting Cale before the rest of his family, you made your way over wrapping him in a friendly hug. You still hadn’t told your families you were together but it had only been four days since you’d shared your first ‘I love you’s’. Cale looked sexy as fuck dressed in jeans, his own flannel and cowboy hat.
Thankfully you were distracted when Laura came over, pulling you away from her eldest son to chat about the plans for the night and whatever else was on her mind. It wasn’t long before Cale and Taylor were both pulling you away to go ride a couple rides and you laughed as the brothers bickered over which rides you needed to go on first. It had been like this every year for as long as you could remember and the outcome was always the same. Cale would claim older brother privilege while Taylor would plead for you to take his side.
“I’m picking the first ride.” You declared pinching both boys in the side as you turned to walk toward your favorite.
“Wait..what...that’s not how this goes?” Taylor sputtered.
“It is now.” You insisted as you climbed onto the first ride. Taylor was pouting but Cale just shook his head going with the decision you’d made.
“Oh stop the pouting.” You teased, bumping your shoulder against Taylor’s as you exited the ride a few minutes later. “You’re not a kid anymore.”
“But I’m still…”
“The baby...I know.” You said shaking your head. “Your pick bud.” You proclaimed, causing Cale to whine.
“Just make your brother happy...you know we’ll do your ride next.” You whispered as Taylor practically ran ahead to the next ride. Cale grumbled a bit but went along and you shook your head. “I forget that I have to babysit the two of you every year.” You joked. “I thought I was done with that when you both became adults.”
Taylor’s ride was one of Cale’s least favorites, but he went along with it anyway before quickly dragging both of you to his choice after. By the time you finished that and the one ride all three of you agreed on, both of their stomachs were growling loudly.
“Okay boys...let’s go find mom and dad.” You declared. The words had slid from your mouth without a second thought and while Cale didn’t seem to notice them either, Taylor did a double take as he raced to catch back up.
The five of you got dinner at one of the many food stands before settling in at a picnic table to eat. Conversation flowed easily, you truly felt like a part of this family and that was even without considering your new relationship with Cale. Though a tiny part of you was worried about what his family would think...what your family would think...you felt confident that nothing was really going to change. You fit here and your relationship with Cale could only improve that.
After dinner, you all started walking around, stopping at various vendor tents, killing time before heading over to the Nashville North stage for the nightly concert.
“We’re going to go get drinks...why don’t you and Cale head to grab spots?” Laura declared. As Cale’s family walked in the other direction, you looked over at Cale. He really looked so fucking handsome and you couldn’t help but slip your hat off as you took a step closer to him, pressing up for a kiss. You’d been wanting to kiss him all afternoon but had refrained...now you couldn’t help yourself any longer. Cale’s hand slid into the curve of your back as he kissed you again, neither of you noticing that Laura had doubled back toward you, the question about whether you wanted a certain type of cider falling off as she witnessed you locking lips with her son.
“Are you two kidding me??” She practically shrieked, her eyes wide. His mother’s voice drew Cale’s attention and he pulled back from the kiss like he’d been shocked. It took another second for her voice to register in your ears as well but once it had you turned around, your stomach twisting violently.
This was NOT how you planned to tell your families.
Cale’s thumb rubbed circles against your back and though his cheeks were red, he still radiated an air of confidence as he looked over at Laura who had hardly moved.
“What did you need mom?” He questioned, flipping the subject on its head away from the embarrassment flooding your cheeks. Laura repeated her question about the cider and when no response fell from your lips, Cale answered for you.
“We’re going to talk about this later.” Laura mumbled as she looked between the two of you again.
“Sure mom.” Cale agreed, his lips grazing against the top of your head. As she walked away, you turned in Cale’s arms, burying your head against his chest. “Well I don’t think that was what we had in mind.” He chuckled.
“I blame the damn cowboy hat.” You mumbled, your words pulling a full laugh from Cale’s body. “Fuck.” You added, groaning softly.
“It’s fine Y/N.” Cale insisted. “You know my parents love you. Yeah mom is a little shocked but it’s all gonna be fine. It’s not a big deal.”
“Cale...your mom just saw me with your tongue down my throat…” You whined.
“And she’s probably planning at least the engagement party if not the wedding…” Cale teased. “Hey…” He soothed. “I love you okay. Take a breath.” His arms tightened around you in a full hug and he pressed soft kisses along your head. “So our timing still sucks...but bright side…at least now we don’t have to figure out how to tell them.”
Though you still weren’t fully composed, you let Cale pull you to the concert venue, where he pulled you back into his chest, his hands falling to your hips. When his family joined you it wasn’t clear whether Laura had said anything to Gary and Taylor or not. No one said anything about it at least, and you took the glass Taylor handed you, eagerly taking a large sip.
Thankfully the band tonight was a good one and you were able to lose yourself in the music. The alcohol in the cider and the heat from Cale’s palm also helped ground you letting you enjoy yourself until the band packed up for the night and it was time to head home.
“I’ll ride with Y/N and we’ll meet you back at the house.” Cale declared. Laura looked like she wanted to protest but a look from Gary silenced her and they headed off with Taylor in the direction of their car while Cale followed you to yours. “Want me to drive?” He inquired. “Or are you good?”
Without hesitation you tossed him your keys, sliding into the passenger seat as anxiety crept back up on you.
“Sweetheart...you gotta breathe.” Cale urged, his hand squeezing your own as he navigated through traffic. “I know you’re embarrassed but...you’re making this a bigger deal than it needs to be and I’m starting to think you’re not just embarrassed about the timing but about me.”
Cale’s confession was vulnerable and you cursed silently, forcing yourself to take a deep breath.
“You know that’s not it right? I love you. I just…” Every thought that had been racing through your head since you heard Laura’s voice now seemed utterly foolish and hurtful framed by Cale’s thoughts.
“You’re right. We have nothing...or at least very little...to be embarrassed about.” You breathed. “I’m sorry for hurting you. That wasn’t my intention.”
“I know it wasn’t.” Cale spoke softly. Regret sat uncomfortably in your stomach for the rest of the drive and once Cale put the car in park, you immediately unbuckled before racing around to his side.
“I love you. I could never be embarrassed about being with you.” You whispered, pulling him into a soft but deep kiss. The sound of car doors slamming caused Cale to pull away and you looked up to find his family walking up the driveway behind you. “Let’s go share all the good news.” You murmured, your hand trailing down Cale’s chest gently until that smile you loved so much had returned to his face.
“Yeah...let’s.” He agreed, his arm wrapped around your shoulders as you headed into the house.
Cale’s family was waiting for you in the kitchen and though the weight of their gazes on you almost felt like an interrogation, you moved to grab bottles of water for you and Cale before settling onto a bar stool as Cale moved to stand behind you.
It seemed like no one wanted to be the first to speak, but eventually it was Taylor who broke the silence.
“Now the king size bed makes more sense.” His mumble made your jaw drop and you felt Cale fighting back a laugh. Seeing both your expressions and the looks of confusion on his parents’ faces Taylor continued. “What? She put a double bed in the master when she moved in and then swapped it with a king a week later...that made no sense. Now it does.”
“Have you two been together this whole time?” Laura questioned, hurt flickering over her face.
“If you mean since mid-May...yeah.” You admitted softly.
“Two months...you’ve been together almost two months...and you didn’t think to tell us? Why?” Reaching across the island, you rested your hand over hers hoping that she wouldn’t pull away.
“We kinda just wanted to feel it all out for ourselves first.”
“I didn’t want to have to answer a million questions when I went to see her.” You and Cale answered at the same time, though his answer was far more blunt than yours.
“We were getting ready to tell you…” You sighed. “Just not like that.”
“You mean I wasn’t supposed to find out by catching the two of you making out?” Laura teased, the mood in the room lightening significantly.
“Apparently that was the cowboy hat’s fault.” Cale ribbed you to his whole family, his hands rubbing over your shoulders.
“Throw me under the bus why don’t you.” You sassed back, sticking your tongue out at him as you tipped your head back. Cale pressed a quick kiss to your lips before you lowered your head and you smiled, heat rising in your cheeks.
“How did this even happen?” Gary finally chimed in. “I mean I know your mother has been hoping for it for years but…”
Though you left out quite a few details, you explained to Cale’s family how you’d realized something was there back in Denver but how you’d both waited until he came home before deciding to actually give it a shot. Taylor didn’t seem super interested and after giving you a quick hug and sharing a look with Cale he mumbled that he was going upstairs.
“So when I suggested you take her to Iceland with you?” Laura mentioned, refocusing the conversation after Taylor’s disappearance.
“I was already planning on asking.” Cale stated. Watching the two of you for a moment - the way you looked at each other, how your bodies reacted to each other - her eyes suddenly went wide.
“There are more pictures aren’t there?” She gasped.
“Yeah there are more.” You nodded, taking Cale’s phone as he dropped it into your hands so that you could pull up the album. Sliding the phone across the island, you watched as Gary and Laura scrolled through them for a few minutes. When she looked up, tears were in her eyes and you couldn’t help but slide off of your stool to round the island.
With your arms wrapped around her tightly, you felt your heart swell.
“This is serious?” She whispered. Nodding, you smiled.
“As serious as it gets.” You agreed. “We don’t know what the future holds...but we plan on finding out together.” A glance over at Cale almost made you cry because you could see in his eyes how much he enjoyed seeing you like this with his mom.
“I already told her I love her.” Cale admitted.
“No…” Laura gasped, the excitement on her face growing.
“Yeah mom...we’ve said I love you.” You said. Laura’s face froze for a moment before she blinked quickly.
“You just called me mom…” Though her words expressed shock, her face was hopeful and though you hadn’t even realized the implications of your word choice, you shrugged.
“In love with your son or not...you’ve always been my second mom.” You insisted. “I guess I never realized that I hadn’t called you that before.”
“I’d love for you to call me mom.” Laura promised. “You’ve always been my daughter but maybe my son will finally make it official.” Cale’s face was a mix of ‘don’t look at me’ and ‘you can bet on it’ and you sent him a smile.
“There’s no rush on that. Right now we just want to enjoy the summer. Enjoy each other. We’ll take things a step at a time from there.” You assuaged her.
“You don’t know how happy I am right now.” Laura nearly squealed. “Still a little shocked but so happy.” Hugging her again, you watched as she moved to hug Cale as well, leaning up to whisper in his ear causing his cheeks to flush.
“You’ve always made him a better person.” Gary’s voice floated quietly to your ears. “He’s scored way outta his league with you.”
“I don’t know about that.” You denied, stepping into Gary’s open arms. “Is it cool if I call you dad?” You whispered, hesitantly.
“Of course it is.” He quickly agreed. “You are our daughter after all.”
Pulling back, you let out a yawn. “Cale...why don’t you take your girl home.” Gary instructed.
Promising Laura that you would tell your own parents over the weekend, you eventually made your way out the door with Cale. You felt like you were about to burst from the love and acceptance you felt and you couldn’t help but kiss Cale as he moved to open your car door for you.
“I told you it would be fine.” Cale murmured.
“Don’t get used to always being right.” You warned jokingly.
Cale’s hand fell to your thigh on the short ride home and you just watched him as he drove, your brain replaying tonight’s conversations in your head.
It wasn’t until you climbed out of your car that you spoke again.
“So do you think dad told you to bring me home so that you didn’t have to be pestered by mom all night?”
“Maybe...either way I’m not complaining.” Cale smirked, unlocking your front door, holding it open for you. Kicking off your boots, you started down the hall toward the bedroom. Undressing in silence, you fell into bed beside Cale. You didn’t have to sleep alone tonight and that was honestly the best part of all of this.
“I love you calling my parents mom and dad.” He whispered as your bodies curled together. “I never really thought about that aspect of things but you having that close of a relationship with them just makes me fall even more in love with you.”
“I love them. Almost as much as I love you.” Your soft chirp turned to a shriek as Cale tickled you before pressing his lips to yours. The heat behind the kiss was minimal, enough to turn it into a make-out session but not enough to push it into anything more. Instead you just shared lazy kisses until you were practically falling asleep.
And wrapped in Cale’s arms you slept soundly for the first time in two weeks.
