Hate scifi-fantasy magic/energy dichotomies where they talk all about balance but use genocide one side or the other to achieve it. Buddy breaking the scale doesn’t make it balanced. What the fuck do you mean the dark ones are all evil? They have an evil ideology? Okay yeah I see where that can be taken as evil but - NO it’s not balance if the only thing left is the light! You’re telling me there’s never been an evil light user? Oh there has? Then why the fuck has there never been good dark users??? (Answer: author doesn’t care about representing balance they just want easily coded good guys and bad guys).
#ra speaks#personal#writing#yes. this is about Star Wars. but also a ton of other series do this to varying degrees#like hmmm I don’t think genocide is the key to balancing the universe. as a concept that’s kinda sus for a writer to focus on.#again I don’t understand why the Jedi didn’t expect Anakin to be/become a dark side user?#‘he’ll bring balance to the force’ + ‘the Sith are all but extinct’ = okay so he’s gonna revive the sith. that’s what I’m getting from this#especially in EP I like. they really all thought the sith were extinct. only after that does ‘balance’ become ‘destroy tbe sith’#like ? that’s not how balance works. you’re space monks haven’t you like. had philosophical discussions abt this great prophecy?#and like it’s so dumb why write a dichotomy hinging on balance and have one sides code be ‘lol yeah we’re selfish bastards’#while the others is like ‘we must be selfless and disconnected to the point of self destruction and alienation’#like those are both extreme interpretations but also. why is the sith code much more easily interpreted to that extreme.#‘oh they just intrinsically evil -‘ well that defeats the point of having a balance. there’s no coexistence with that.#I guess my point is. yeah Anakin obviously joined the dark side and yeah the genocide of the Jedi wasn’t out of left field I mean.#we go from 2-3 Sith vs thousands of Jedi to a neat little 2:2 (sheev and Vader. Luke and Leia)#<- I’m talking about canon and narrative ratios. obv we know more Jedi survived I’m just taking the og trilogy in isolation.

I've talked about this already in a reblog [LINK] but I do find it fascinating how every time, without a fail, when cTommy would start getting close to someone they would immediately register as a threat to cDream.
cWilbur is the most obvious one. He was cTommy's big brother, his protector, the person he arguably loved and relied on the most. And cDream was very very obviously jealous of said fact. And he'd been jealous from the beginning. And he tried to weasel his way into the big brother role from all the way back in og L'Manburg.
I will never get over the fact that he only ever tried to change cTommy's mind on even being in L'Manburg [LINK because this is fucking funny]. And then later in Pogtopia that he left a special gift basket which included his treasured crossbow as well as the book Tyrant and a bunch of other stuff to cTommy when he only gave Techno (Pogtopia's most skilled fighter) one single either gold or god apple. The fact that, despite saying he would help from the shadows only, he still very much fought the pet wars by cTommy's side. Or that, after confession he was actually on cSchlatt's side and being against cTommy going to retrieve his stuff from his old house in public, he still allowed him in private. And then spent the whole pre-war hanging with cTommy.
He was always trying to get in cTommy's good graces. To sorta take him from under cWilbur's nose. And it didn't work because cTommy has always been about as loyal as you can get, so he went with the best possible alternative and encouraged cWilbur's self-destructive behaviors until he did the job for him. And then he just never brought him back until he was certain that he was no longer a threat to his big brother role [LINK to Tommy literally saying that cWilbur was worse than cDream].
But cWilbur was so SO far from being the only threat to cDream's fragile attachment. And, in fact, I would argue he wasn't even the biggest threat in cDream's mind.
After all, cDream never put that much effort into getting rid of cWilbur. Partially because cWilbur was already spiraling and distancing himself from cTommy, but I also think that he just didn't respect him all that much as a rival. Though that's mostly speculation.
No, the biggest threat was always cTubbo. The best buddy, best friends forever. There is a reason why during exile, while the role he was trying to cover was more akin to cWilbur's role in cTommy's life, his wording wasn't. He never used the term "brothers" always "best friends".
There is a reason why he went through the trouble of utterly destroying cClingy relationship far more than he ever did for cCrime, by framing cTommy, by demanding harsher punishments at the trial, by taunting cTommy and escalating the situation over and over again. And then still by discouraging cTubbo from visiting and by lying to cTommy about cTubbo just discarding his 'my Tommy' compass. And then, when none of that worked, he went for the ultimate betrayal, because he knew it would hurt cTommy immensely if cTubbo gave up the disc he'd been given as an ultimate act of trust, and he knew that he could break cTubbo's trust in cTommy even more. And when EVEN THAT didn't work he straight-up went for murdering cTubbo because my man was fed up (at least if we assume that the staged finale didn't completely go according to plan, but if I go on a rant about how UTTERLY MORONIC the staged finale was here I'll never stop).
cTubbo was always cDream's biggest enemy, and it really goes to show how single-minded he was as a villain that cTubbo being his nemesis wasn't even about cTubbo.
Next level obsession there.
Of course, the two of them weren't the only threats, just the biggest. Bud cDream didn't stop at them. He tried to kill Ghostbur during exile just because his constant presence was too much of a comfort to cTommy and later on actually killed him to revive the version of cWilbur cTommy seemingly hated. He took two of MD's lives because he not only was willing to move in with cTommy, but also wasn't afraid to call cDream out on his bullshit which, if you rewatch that stream, seemed to really bother cDream. Also the fact that cTommy, as soon as he was offered an alternative to follow MD's orders and rules instead of cDream's took it with pretty much no hesitation probably didn't help cDream's dislike of MD. He also never revived cRanboo, and it is very possible that it's because he knew that he and cTommy were friends.
Murders aside, he also sabotaged cTommy's and cRanboo's communication more than once when he realized they were getting close. Which shows that he ether considered cRanboo only a minor threat or simply still useful, because had anyone else visited that much they would be dead.
He also immediately threatened to hurt cPhil when cTommy started relying on him post-prison break. And let's not forget that time cLazar was literally only going to visit with a present and cDream considered it such a big threat that he made cLazar take part in abusing cTommy so thoroughly that cTommy was sure not to want anything to do with him in the future. (also, kind of an interesting coincidence that cLazar was one of the unlucky two selected to be slaughtered for the sake of science...).
Every time cTommy has gotten especially close to anyone, cDream was always there, ready to intervene, ready to deal with the threat as swiftly as possible. Because ANYONE would have been a better choice for cTommy and he knew it. And he acted accordingly.
Curiously, the only one he never took action against was cTechno, though I do wonder if that was just because of how obviously doomed cBedrock bros were from the very start. cDream does know the extent of cTommy's loyalty very VERY well after all...

Okay no one asked me why the West End revival is the gayest version of Heathers but I wanted to give evidence so here it is.
First off, let's start with the actually canon queerness. I'm talking about New Wave Girl and Stoner Girl. This only turned up in the OG West End cast, so I'll lay it out: during Me Inside Of Me, New Wave puts her arm on Stoner's shoulder, but when Stoner goes to hold her hand she pulls it away:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BUT THEN during the section of MIOM that sings "And you and you and you and youuuuu!" Stoner point to New Wave specifically (just below Ronnie and JD):
Tumblr media
Then this happens:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, I shall call to the stand the fact that Duke and McNamara's relationship prior to Chandler's death - specifically, defending Duke against Chandler - is a lot more pronounced. As Duke takes Chandler's solo in Candy Store, McNamara is clearly worried and apprehensive about how Chandler will react, even miming telling Duke to get away before she gets hurt.
Tumblr media
And later on, rushing to help Duke when she's shoved.
Tumblr media
(I know this happens in the Bway version too, but it just hits different here because of how aggressive Chandler was)
Later, during Never Shutting Up Again, McNamara doesn't join in at all. The second Duke steals Veronica's diary, McNamara is by her side, helping her.
Tumblr media
And then can be seen standing uncomfortably out of the way for the remainder of the song.
Tumblr media
In the Broadway version, she joins and even adds to the lies and rumors during the reprise of Blue, contrasting to this version.
Also during Never Shutting Up Again, Heather Chandler's ghost is clearly angry. She's scowling at Kurt and Ram, throwing her hands up, stalking off, showing very obviously that she's annoyed at what's happening with the lies. She may be a mythic bitch, but they were messing with her Veronica and she was having none of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I couldn't get good images of this. I'm not even a big Chansaw shipper, but I found this so cute.
Finally, at the end, Duke takes Veronica's hand and reciprocates her hug.
Tumblr media
This is something Broadway Duke doesn't do. Duke was on the edge of becoming the next Chandler, but in that moment, she decided to take whatever chance at normalcy she had and stay with Veronica and McNamara.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

I have a horrible au idea...
cw: mention of human experimentation, child abuse, violence, panic attacks etc
(if anyone writes this pls send me link or tag me or something)
Modern au (with the og 5) where the strawhats are true crime content creators and like to dig in old cases, visit "haunted houses" and urban legends.
When one day they start looking at the Vinsmoke family's child disappearance case. There was almost no evidence and the Vinsmokes weren't even the ones who filed in the missing persons report. It was one of the private tutors they had. He was fired afterwards. The case was deemed a cold case and officially closed. The Vinsmokes moved to Germany and left a huge mansion behind. No one wanted to buy or maintain it. Many thought that they covered it up. There were too many oddities around the family.
So obviously Luffy decided to break into their old mansion. It's been almost 10 years since they moved. So they didn't expect any inhabitants.
They found the top floors abandoned and dusty (as expected). Creaking and spiders on the walls only added to the uneasy feeling that a standard haunted mansion vibe. The lower floors looked like someone actually came once in a while but they thought it's because a lot of people came here on dares or like them: for content.
What they weren't expecting was to hear noises from the cellar. Or attic? Whatever was down there... it was behind a wall and it sounded like crying. They couldn't find a way to bust down the walls but Nami and Usopp found the crack of the entrance and they cranked ot open.
It was what looked like a hiden prison with only a window for air to come in with bars on it. When the secret door thing was open, the crying stopped. They called out if anyone was there. No answer.
Bloodstains and rotting rat carcasses were on the floor. There was an operation bed and a cabinet of chemicals, syringes and other rusted tools. When one of them pointed it out there was a sound that came from the locked room.
It was obvious at this point someone was in there. They opened to see, to their horror that there was a skinny blond boy shriveled in the corner. Shivering and holding his hands up to protect himself.
He kept flinching and the surprising cries get louder every time any of the boys tried to approach him, he keeps getting full on panic attacks. The only person that didn't evoke that kind of reaction was Nami. (She looked a like his sister: short light hair (plus pink and orange look alike in the dark) and the rest of the men from his family used to abuse him) He was almost entirely nonverbal but a dna test confirmed that he was the Vindmoke's missing son: Sanji.
He slowly started warming up to the rest. He was going through a rehabilitation program but they kept visiting him. He started warming up to Usopp first. Sanji kept staring at his hair. The first time they saw him smiling was when Usopp let him play with his curls. The next to make him cheer up was Luffy. At first Luffy kept his distance because he felt so horrible he couldn't do anything and he couldn't bare to see Sanji act like that at the mere sight of him. But once he heard Usopp was a "safe" person, he did everything in his power to make Sanji laugh. The only one who Sanji never opened up to was Zoro. With his stature and green hair, he looked too much like Yonji. Zoro stopped going into the hospital room. He just waited in front of the room or in the car. He knew when he was unwanted.
That was until he finally revived and could leave the hospital. Nami couldn't come because of her finals, Luffy had to to pay his brother bail and Usopp was left preparing the surprised "party" for Sanji's release (it was going to be just them and a few family members like Nami's sister, Usopp's fiance etc).
It wasn't ideal, but Zoro was stuck picking him up. Sanji stayed at least 3 meters away from him at all times. When they got to the car three weirdly dressed men with colourful hair tried to approach them. Sanji started getting a panic attack, all the progress they've made down the drain. Zoro told them to fuck off but they kept walking closer. So he started fighting them. The security of the hospital got involved. And a mental note for a restraining order was made.
After that Sanji no longer saw Zoro as a copy of Yonji, but as a big guard dog to hide behind.

The Schrödinger's SPN Revival
So, recently there’s been a lot of talk on here and twitter because a couple articles have been published citing Jared and Jensen (or just Jensen in one POS article) mentioning discussing possibilities for a revival. Does this make it any more likely to happen or closer to being realized? I don’t know, but the guys have been mentioning it off and on for years already, so I’m not sure it’s any more likely now than it ever was. Also, with networks and the whole industry in seeming disarray, even if J2 want to get a revival going, I’m not sure it will happen.
But, let’s speculate anyway. Shall we?
Tumblr media
(I CANOT get the link to work for some reason!!)
My thoughts on this, under the cut.
I’m no authority on anything in the TV industry, but I have watched our little show a lot, so I have thoughts. Let’s take look at each person on this poll.
Kripke - Obviously, he understands Sam and Dean. He created them after all. But, would I trust him with the revival? Well, judging by The Boys, he seems more focused on shock value than tight storytelling these days, so I’m not sure I would want to see an SPN on a streamer that he ran. It might become a case of all fireworks and little to no heart. Also, if he had ended the series in Season 5, both Sam and Dean would have been trapped in the cage forever. Not exactly a happy ending. Still, is he capable of manning a revival snd doing a decent job? Yes. Would I totally trust him with it? Maybe. Maybe not. Do I think he even has time to do it? Not really.
Jensen - Come on, people! If you want him to reprise his role as Dean, then he isn’t going to be the showrunner. Also, he’s an actor, not a writer, so it’s not even in his wheelhouse. So, no. This wouldn’t be a good idea. And after The Winchesters, I think it’s extremely unlikely that he’d be put at the helm in this way. The only upside to Jensen being a show runner? We know damn well Destiel would be ignored as vigorously as it deserves.
Robbie Thompson - Exhibit One: The Winchesters. So, no. Also, while he has written some episodes that I like of SPN, he was always trying to make the show something it wasn’t, whether it was Fairytale time with Charlie or trying to shoehorn romance into a platonic brother love story, he’s shown that he shouldn’t be trusted with the OG show in a position of power.
Sera Gamble - Season 6 while having some absolute bangers, was also a bit of a mess in some ways. And Season 7 was more so. How much of this was due to Gamble hersel and how much was due to Singer tugging at the reins, I don’t know. She is a proven showrunner, so I believe she could do it. She actually understands and enjoys Sam, so that would be a huge relief for those of us who actually care about Sam and want to see him get his due on screen. Also, she has never written Dean badly from my observations, despite certain past claims by “some people” on women not writing male dialogue well. In a lot of ways, I think she could be a good choice. But, would she be interested even? I have no clue.
Andrew Dabb - NEXT!!
Jeremy Carver - For reasons relating to Season 11, I would like to see him helm a revival. He can clearly follow through with a connected and coherent arc. However, for reasons relating to Season 8, where he had characters do a few hugely out of character things for the story’s sake? No. For Season 10 snd the bore thst it was for me personally (though that potentially had something to do with pressure that came from Singer)? No. All in all. I think he’d be capable of ruining a revival, but something tells me he isn’t particularly interested and they guys may not be that ready to chose him, either (purely just my gut).
Robert Singer - No. I believe he interfered with Gamble and Carver’s plans; I just don’t know to what extent. And worst of all, he did nothing to help steer Dabb away from the mess that was much of Seasons 12 to 15. Also, he’d probably bring Buck-Lemming with him. And can I just say a big, “Fuck no,” to that.
Again, all of this is just me rambling. I have no real idea how likely any of them would be to come back for a revival. And I also don’t know how much J2 would want any of them to run a revival, or whether they’d want to just get someone new who might be more likely to listen to their ideas. I don’t even know if J2 would have an easy time agreeing on who would make a good show runner from that list because I think they might not even agree on who they considered to be better writers, or be better candidates to showrunner. For example, I think Jared might be more enthusiastic about Gamble than Jensen would. And Jensen would probably welcome Singer more than Jared would. Again, I don’t know any of this for certain, but it just my impression based off of things they’ve said over the years.
If a revival happens what do I want?
First, it sounds to me like if there is one, J2 want to be a big part of it with Sam and Dean as central focus. This is what I would want. I watched the show for them. I stuck it out through the rough seasons for them. The only way I would watch a revival was if it heavily featured both Sam and Dean. Second, I think I would enjoy if they did a revival during the years (according to J2) between Episodes 19 snd 20. I would like this because it would make the likelihood of angel or demon interference minimal. And this would be the more likely scenario for us to get a more old-school creature hunting revival. We could still see Jody and co for those who care about that. There would be no need for Cas or Jack to show up, which I would prefer. Yet, it would be easy enough for them to make a brief appearance if J2 wanted to pander in that way. Also, I’m so very sick of Angel BS, and this seems like the best way to avoid it. Third, I could be interested in a bit of a prequel with John and the boys, if they could find a way to include J2 without making it convoluted and pointless. Finally, if they come back from heaven for some reason, I think it would be hard for the revival to have much in the way of stakes. And I really wouldn’t want a huge dose of Cas, which we’d potentially have in that case.
Anyway, here are my thoughts on the potential revival, thoughts thst no one asked for admittedly. Lol.
If anyone read this far, what are your thoughts on a revival. If it happens, who should run it and what would you want to see happen?

OKAY YALL. i started getting into frankenstein which really meshes well with my jason todd obsession. so.
WHAT IF. NOW HEAR ME OUT.
there’s a Frankenstein’s monster esc character running around Gotham?
i have already thought this through. bear with me.
The Creature is acc a girl who has darker skin right? there’s a reason for this. since dark skinned women get stigmatised for being “masculine” and “monstrous”. so. I think it’d be interesting.
her name is Pandora, a reference to Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus.
now. personally, i have a weird fixation on 19/20th century Russia, so our girl Pandora is Russian with mixed Mediterranean ancestry because of the Ancient Greek references. her creator and in this universe, he’s her father. is called Victor (obviously) bUT his surname is Fyodorov which is literally son of Fyodor and that name means God’s Gift. which then ties into The Creature saying he should be Adam !! but instead he’s Frankenstein’s fallen angel !!
so for the backstory which is tweaked because dc. Pandora is born like any other person yeah? she ages and when she’s four, she dies in a villain related accident. her dad, Victor, then takes her remains and puts his big brain to good use. there’s some kind of technical difficulties so he ends up literally harvesting body parts like og Victor and slapping them onto his kid.
now for the rising from the dead part. for whatever reason, our guy manages to get his hands on a bit of Lazarus pit water but it’s not a lot. so like in the novel, he uses an ambiguous mix of alchemy and electricity (along with Lazarus water) to revive Pandora.
ofc it works and she comes back to life.
so where does jason come in?
he’s the bride. idc. they’re both technically zombies you mean to tell me they wouldn’t get married? fools.
anyway yeah. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Do you feel like kariya is a good person to look up to? Like I know day 4 happened but that's like the worst thing he did. And I honestly can't be mad because that "hello, villain? Screwing with you is my job." Line just hits me weird. I'm tempted to write a fic but I dunno
Now that is an interesting question. I see what you mean by "day 4 is the worst thing he did" but that's actually the only thing we see. And while that's the most nefarious action he took, that's the only one we saw, but he's been a Reaper for so long that he most likely erased hundreds of not thousands of players before. Is Kariya an overall good person? No, I don't think so.
But, as you said, "it's his job". Here we fall into the morals of the Reaper's Game and I'm afraid I'm not qualified enough to judge. But I can offer some ideas anyway.
What's the job of a Harrier Reaper? It's not to mindlessly erase Players to rack up points and rise up the ranks as Uzuki seems to believe. Kariya sees further: he knows that the Reapers (Harriers, Supports, Officers...) all have the common goal of helping to judge which Players are worth reviving. It's not about erasing them all, it's about putting up obstacles that will make them grow (for instance, erasing Rhyme was the way to help Beat grow, wasn't it?) and erasing those who are not strong enough to survive. It follows the basic rule of the Reaper's Game which is the survival of the fittest.
Now that rule can obviously be contested in many ways, as it is directly contested mulstiples times during twewy directly, and by Neku himself, who believes that all Players should live again. So there's mutiples questions here: do you agree with the survival of the fittest? If not, do you believe that because someone is asked to do something, then that takes away their responsibility in the actions taken (it's "just his job")?
I don't have any idea on how to answer those questions. Just food for thought!
But on the other hand, Kariya can be looked up to on some subjects. He knows what matters to him (Shibuya) and he's willing to risk his life for it (for instance, going against Shiba or helping Beat and Neku in week three of the og). There's many other steps he takes in order to protect Shibuya (finding the source of the Taboo Noise, trying to find out what Joshua's deal is, fighting against the Plague Noise on his own to protect the RG inhabitants from it...) which clash with his "lazy" personality and show that he can definitely give his all for something as long as it matters enough to him. That man got his priorities straight, I can admire that.
I wouldn't say that he likes to help people because we don't see him do it that often. I believe he's doing it with the same goal in mind that he has for everything else he does: Shibuya's well-being. He helps out Beat to grow because that's what the Game is about, and same for Rindo, because he knows that having people who win the Game and get revived is a good thing for the city thanks to the influence they will have on it (see Shiki's influence through Gatto Nero!).
In the end, to answer your question... it depends on what you believe in. Nobody's perfect, and there's definitely people worse than Kariya to look up to. But it's important to be aware of what his morals are, because of course he's very much a grey character when it comes to those.

Sasanami Unmei early concept
"A body that loves but cannot play football"
The first chapter of the Victory Road story mode was confirmed to be unlocked in early May, so it's basically just around the corner!
In preparation, I wanted to re-read what we already know about the story and especially Unmei. He was introduced as a new character in 2020 for a game named "Inazuma Eleven Eiyuutachi no Great Road". The game has long been scrapped but obviously Unmei wasn't. Still it is difficult to find remains of that development stage (or I'm just really bad at online search).
I do not know how much Unmei's character was changed for VR but the basics traits were reiterated so there might be some truth in the Great Road concepts. So here's what has been revealed about Sasanami Unmei years ago:
-Unmei has a straight forward personality
-he has a "Holmes-like" thinking in everyday life
-he also has a photographic memory (?)
-he loved soccer as a kid
-when he was seven he was unable to continue playing due to a mental trauma
-also since there's no physical abnormality doctors are unable to help him? VERY unsure about that translation though
-"Nevertheless, he enjoyed his student life without worrying about it", he just avoided being involved with soccer
-Meeting Endou Mamoru revived his feelings for soccer -> I think its very interesting how Haru motivates him in VR since he's quite the opposite of Mamoru in OG
-He joins the soccer club as a manager and gradually works his way up to becoming an advisor and analyst -> Def changed in VR
-In my interpretation he seems to be someone with little self esteem/ a lot of doubts but by meeting Raimon he starts to believe that achieving highly ambitious goals may be possible. I wonder if it'll be the same with Nagumohara..
So yeah, that's a summary of what I could find/remember. I think we've got a really good protagonist there. I'm very sure Victory Road will have an enthralling story!

Thinking about The Original Attempted Calamity Hero and Ganondorf again and the implications of the Calamity even existing in the first place.
(Warning, this post has spoilers for basically all of the Zelda franchise and is pretty long, if there's a game or thing you did not read but would like to like the manga then please turn back, or stick around if you don't care lol)
I know there's a lot of theories about him floating around, that either he was half Gerudo, part of the Zonai tribe or at least half Zonai and Zonai raised or even Ganon himself because for some reason something might have happened to that era's Link, but that's a fairy better released at another day. But can y'all imagine being the guy back then? I don't think we discuss this enough to be honest.
So far, almost all of Ganon's incarnations have been at least somewhat mortal before BOTW, with the exception of obviously Demise who was a deity, and the whole thing with the Four Swords Adventures portion of the timeline that kind of itches at me that it has time travel involved though that's yet another fairy, but almost every single one of them started as a human even if they do get more and more animalistic over time. What with Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker's Ganondorf being by far the most human, but during the second part of Ocarina of Time and later on Twilight Princess they descend into Beast Form, which is a power boost yes but definitely a downgrade as it doesn't leave him as sane or cognitive, given that at the end of Twilight Princess Ganon returns to human form to fight Link rather than remain in that form. It's telling that he much prefers being human to being a feral boar.
Then we have OG Zelda's Ganon, the general downfall timeline Ganon that is, from A Link to The Past to Oracle of Seasons/Ages to A Link Between Worlds to the very first Legend of Zelda and Link's Adventure, it's clear that Ganon has fully descended into a feral state and that whatever bit of humanity there and cognition as a result was, he very rarely talks in LTTP, in a LBTW he's at his most coherent when Yuga fuses with him, by the OG Zelda he doesn't speak at all and twice in that time frame he had to be revived rather than come back on his own like his more human like iterations can if they wait and chill for a couple hundred years. He's basically no more than a feral animal, he isn't interested in ruling Hyrule, he's very darn interested in destroying the hero and making Hylia herself suffer and definitely doesn't care about burning Hyrule to the ground and killing anyone in his path if that does the trick, whatever sanity there was is too far gone.
Stick with me here, I'll get to the point.
It's an interesting descent and detail to pivot and follow after. It's obviously a result of Demise's corrupting divine fury and curse, you know what's technically a similar case? Zelda.
I think we can all agree that Zelda isn't Hylia, she's Hylia brought to earth or at the very least her vessel if we go by Breath of the Wild, because Zelda praying for herself wouldn't make any logical sense otherwise even if by order of her father, with no memories or rememberance of what she was, just that she is the holder of Hylia's divine power and her will and responsibility to protect the people and specially the Triforce/Light Force the Original Three left behind. No Cost Too Great you could say in the words of the Pale King from Hollow Knight, the only time she remembers in full is in Skyward Sword, it's confirmed that Zelda gets Hylia's knowledge and maybe even her memories after praying in the springs and it doesn't matter if she's just a vessel to her power or a reincarnation or if this is a Cú Chulainn situation where she is Hylia yet isn't (Schrodinger's Deity?), and her behavior shifts a bit then, not by much but it's definitely noticeable if you look at the text.
What if it's a similar case for Ganon? Zelda is what you get when you don't have the memories, when you take something barely comprehensible with a though process you can't even begin to understand with an intense capability for emotion that's practically suffocating and compress it into a mortal form to start again as a blank slate and it mostly remains that way. Ganon is what you get when the memories slowly seep back in as well as the intense, overwhelming, all consuming divine rage and fury and wish for vengeance seeps into a mortal vessel that very obviously can't fully hold it, couple that with Demise's curse and you have a cocktail for disaster, Ganon was doomed from the start just by being Demise's vessel, man never stood a chance. Though there's no way to say wether he fought against the influence or not, that's something we are unlikely to ever know since we only play and read from Link's and Zelda's perspective.
The Calamity and Malice is the result of when that divine fury breaks out, when there's a break in the already spilling over and cracked goblet. But it couldn't have broken on it's own you know? We see that cursed enemies were always a thing in Zelda games and as far back in the timeline as Skyward Sword it already existed, remember that corrupting and harmful 'water' at the Ancient Cistern's basement? The cursed enemies and dark crystals there? Possibly a leftover of Demise's power after the original break through the surface as seen in the First Hero's manga, a prototype of Malice, hence why Ghirahim was sniffing around there for a way to bring him back, it's the only other place in the franchise after BOTW we see a prominent number of cursed enemies, and the Malice is clearly a thing that can learn and evolve, it can possess enemies and technology, it can revive the dead and control it and possess people too and create beings from it (remember the Phantom Ganon in OOT and PH guys), but it's not a discernible pattern, we didn't know much about it at all until recently and that right there? Is some terrifying lovecraftian/ancient mythology thing.
Because we clearly see it puppeteering scattered pieces of Sheikah Tech in the form of the Blights, possessing the Divine Beasts and the Calamity Ganon form in BOTW, Tears of the Kingdom shows us how Ganondorf's corpse is still around and clearly was revived, like a lich being corrupted from it's own energy. It's not Ganondorf doing anything anymore, it's the curse, it's Demise's Will, and as his corpse has not fully perished yet it likely is but a puppet to it.
It was not a pattern anyone could have predicted much less the hero back then, would he and his Zelda have an inkling about the pattern of Ganondorf always reincarnating and maybe have tried to do something about it early? Absolutely, heck maybe Ganondorf was even sane enough to fight back and try to go off script. Would they have predicted that some kind of freaky kill switch would actívate to keep his reanimated corpse going only powered by the original curse Demise set up, which is basically fueled by pure divine will for vengeance on the one with the spirit of the hero who bested him not once but twice and the goddess that twarthed him at every turn from throwing that little green glad bastard at him with a sacred sword to seal him to basically sabotaging the Triforce so divine beings cannot use it and fury so strong it transcends time and space if we count games like Cadance of Hyrule and Hyrule Warriors (which we are doing here by the way) being a thing and presumably happening in different worlds? Absolutely not.
Honestly I see people compare BOTW and AOC Link to the guy back then and how they should have done better in game and that BOTW Link failed not living up to the standard he set up and how he stopped talking under the pressure and I'm just, y'all ever pause and think he wasn't anymore prepared than you people? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong due to sleep deprivation, I haven't slept well in months and woke up in a cold sweat at 3am to start writing this down but just- He didn't have Shrines to prepare him, he didn't have the Divine Beasts back then to weaken the Calamity before they were built by the Sheikah with presumably Zonai aid (and oh boy to I have thoughts and headcanons on that) and that would have taken time, it was basically just him, Zelda, the other races and Fi as the Master Sword (or heck even without her, we all know it always takes any Link time to get the Master Sword in the games, he likely didn't pull her out straight away like how presumably BOTW and AOC Link did) holding the fort against Malice enhanced monsters and likely revived undead because we know even while sane the previous Ganon's were definitely not above doing that.
So it was most likely a Phyrric Victory, the few times we hear about things that happened to previous heroes, is that we either don't know what happened to them at the end of the story (which is extremely concerning if you ask me because something should have been recorded right? They should have at least recorded how Zelda got her powers to give other Zelda's a better point of reference that just stay in a spring and pray to yourself apparently) Or that they just straight up died (The Hero's Shade being OOT Link, The First Hero being left behind rather than being able to ascend with the other humans to Skyloft, OG Zelda's previous Link most likely being killed in an attempt by Ganon's cult to revive him or to seal him away again), and we don't hear what happened to him or Zelda or the original Champions. History is written by the victors after all, Hylian history has a tendency of erasing details, take from that what you will.
TL;Dr My headcanon is that him and his Zelda were unwittingly cataclysms to the Calamity being unleashed in the first place, and that's why we don't hear much about what happened to them and, since 10000 years have passed there was likely a lot of time for erasure and cover up to happen by the crown. And that the man himself would be very proud of his descendants for being able to deal with at least part of the problem he unintentionally caused and surviving even with worse odds in spite of being better prepared unlike him who most likely died even if BOTW Link and AOC Link should get at least one sucker punch in if they're told that wasn't even the original goods they thought they dealt with as a treat if we go the LU route, in this essay I will-

archer in pomas is so funny bc there's a huge discrepancy between his dialogue/the game's plot and his voicelines. a lot of his dialogue he's talking about giovanni having returned and team rocket being back. for example, these dialogue lines that i posted abt the other day. specifically: "But he [Giovanni] returned and is once again Team Rocket's boss. Our organization has been reborn- stronger than ever!" because well. obviously giovanni has returned and team rocket is revived. this is a fact.
but a lot of his voicelines are about him resurrecting team rocket or some shit. as though his voicelines take place pre-pomas?? you can listen to all his voicelines here, but to point out a few:
"I'll use this power to resurrect Team Rocket." "It won't be long until I resurrect Team Rocket." "I will do whatever it takes to regain Team Rocket's former glory." "One day, I will restore Team Rocket to its former shining glory, just like the stars in the night sky." (lmao archer what) "After our boss is back from his solo training, Team Rocket will regain our former glory."
as you can see. he's talking like giovanni isn't back yet, despite him clearly having returned. like why. (also the last one is interesting to me bc it refers to the original giovanni. i'll talk about it more at the end)
i think rationally it's probably just a mistake, or maybe they recorded his voicelines way in advance or some shit and hadn't realized where they were going with the plot yet. idk. but it's kind of weird bc the other executives' voicelines don't have this issue. in fact there's multiple lines that directly acknowledge that he's back and they're currently under his leadership:
Ariana: "All of my strength exists to serve Team Rocket and its great leader." (the great leader presumably being giovanni obv) Petrel: "I can't believe Giovanni is in a place like this! Life sure is full of unexpected surprises."
i think it's worth pointing out that the giovanni on pasio is not actually the giovanni from this world, which he talks about in the mewtwo legendary adventure ("So this is how it's gonna be, huh? I guess I'm doomed to be a criminal no matter which world I find myself in.") this makes the archer voiceline i pointed out earlier a bit weirder, since it actually acknowledges the original giovanni. i think it's one of the few instances where he's actually acknowledged LOLL
that being said i don't necessarily think that's related, especially since in the dialogue i linked at the beginning, archer clearly considers the pasio giovanni to be his leader. still cool to think about tho
anyways i just thought this was interesting, & whenever i hear archer say one of the voicelines i pointed out earlier, it's always a little bit jarring to me. bc bbg team rocket IS back. what are you talking about. but yeah, regardless of whether this means anything or if i'm just overthinking it, i wanted to share this anyway so <3 love yall bye
edit oopsie: obv the otherworldly giovanni is similar to usum. and so this giovanni never experienced the disbandment of team rocket/hasn't yet done so. so that's why archer's voiceline has to refer to the og giovanni. this is further evidenced by giovanni acting surprised that team rocket was disbanded in the mewtwo legendary adventure. idk if this is obvious but i think it's important to mention LOL my b

Fade, like everyone else, had her habits. You know, those things you do routinely and you feel bad when you don't do them. When she entered in the Valorant Protocol, she had to submit to new habits. She had to get used to being hated. But she also get used to being loved.

Fade, like everyone else, had her habits. You know, those things you do routinely and you feel bad when you don't do them.
She used to make her own henna paste in the mornings, with the sun sneaking through her heavy curtains. She remade her tattoos rigorously every 25 days, sipping her precious coffee. Drinking coffee was also a habit, but it was closer to a personal addiction that had already given her a bad sleep disorder and brown teeth. She used to read after lunch, her belly full of her own delicacies (drinking coffee). She liked biographies of murderers, crime novels, and philosophical fictions. She used to visit cat shelters, which she made sure they were well taken care of. She used to walk after the sun went down, enjoying the fresh air and the night world.
Fade, like everyone else, was comfortable and content with her habits.
It wasn't good to have to change them because of the disappearance of her loved one. That hurt as much as losing the one she loved. Spending hours and hours scavenging for information in front of the computer; taking grueling trips around the world; using her radiant abilities in ways she never imagined before, all changed her routine drastically. It was so tiring that she even fell asleep a few times. Imagine! Fade! Sleeping!
And, entering the Valorant Protocol, she had to submit to new habits.
She couldn't always make her henna paste and her tattoos started to get annoyingly faded. Lunches were rushed, she rarely enjoyed the food, which she no longer prepared. Her readings were reports and matters connected with the Protocol. Generally, she became too busy to enjoy a night walk. The coffee addiction, which left her electric enough to forget some of her problems, was what was left of her old habits.
And, of course, she had to get used to being hated.
After all she's done using her radiant gift, in addition to her own machinations, the other agents have learned to fear her. Fade posed a constant danger even after a time in the Protocol.
Machiavelli said it was better to be feared than loved. He wasn't wrong. Fear brought an intoxicating sense of power. Fade liked to walk by the halls and people give her space to pass. It was good to see that her gaze caused fear. Her voice made some people tremble.
 Power tasted sweet.
But it went down like acid.
Like the supposed poison Viper had put in her food after she entered Protocol, which had given her a colic that Sage and the Protocol doctors said was obviously connected with her period but Fade doubted that excuse. Power was as acidic as the comments Neon made about her behind her back, thinking Fade didn't know about it. Power tasted as bad as the one left in her mouth after being resurrected in one of the Protocol's resuscitation chambers, as Sage refused to revive her in combat when she judge that Fade wasn’t necessary.
 Power was valuable.
Having those people's secrets in the palm of her hand was more overpriced than money, jewelry, and lands.
 But power had a price.
 The price was unreliable.
Sova might buy her a drink, but he would never use his owl drone near her again. Chamber could flirt with Fade all he wanted, but he would never trust her his back. Brimstone might have hired her, but he made sure to keep an eye on every move og her.
It was understandable. She hurt them severely. No matter how much time passed, Fade created wounds that were difficult to heal.
So Fade got used to the consequences of her actions.
 Power meant being on top.
In a position of authority so superior that even Reyna, the radiant Empress, couldn’t face her unguardedly. And how Reyna wanted to break Fade in half for hurting Neon. Fade watched with melancholy how these people cared about each other in such a way that they created a barrier that she could hardly get through.
The top was a lonely place.
Fade didn't complain about being excluded from conversations. She understood the fact that no one invited her to girls' night. She just observed the boys playing basketball, containing her urge to ask to play too. Even if it hurts. Because, like everyone else, Fade wanted to have friends. She wanted to laugh with others and have fun as they had fun with each other.
But that didn't make her regret what she had done. In fact, if it was for what she fought for, she would do it again and 10 times worse. Her isolation from the other agents was a price she would pay with her heart if need be.
Raze and Breach were just like her. They understood her struggle and her actions. They were always kind even after she screwed their heads up even more than they already are. Raze basically begged the other girls to accept Fade on a girls' night. Breach slapped Yoru and Phoenix to make them ask her to play with them. Fade preferred to accept such pleasantries, knowing that the two of them did their best to help her, since they had been in the same place for so long. And because they knew what she was capable of, they never completely trusted her either.
And it was fine. They were just like everyone else, just like her. They created barriers to protect themselves from what frightened them.
But there were two people like her who were different.
Omen, who saw himself as a monster, found himself mirrored in her as soon as she entered the Protocol. His heart, which no one knew whether or not was beating, soared for that creepy, kitten-loving girl, which he kind of liked too. She was so peculiar. She spoke darkly as he did, terror and fear filling her mind. But she was also kind and polite, constantly praising others even if it seemed untrue. Omen liked her dark jokes. He appreciated the fact that she wasn't frightened by his unpredictable teleports.
It was a good feeling when Omen looked at Fade and saw someone as disturbed as he was. Like a magnet, she naturally drew him close.
 Just like Cypher.
But Cypher saw her as something else, someone promising. Fade, who had a sapphire and amber in her eyes, was an uncut gem that was shaping itself. Cypher never got tired of talking to her, as with each new dialogue the girl managed to impress him a little more. He admired her strategies and her determination. Fade never beat Cypher at chess, but he'd be lying if he said he never felt the chills when she was close to winning. Cypher wanted to understand her as if she was a puzzle. Even more when he knew that they both had similar motivations for fighting.
Raze could destroy buildings for her ideals.
Breach could break cities for cash.
But Cypher and Fade fought for love and so they were able to overthrow the gods.
The three together made an interesting group. Everyone had clear sleep problems and definitely didn't have a sane mind. It was common for Cypher to stare into the distance in sullen reflection; that Fade spoke frightening things; and that Omen sank into deathly silence, tormented by the voices that haunted him constantly. These peculiar aspects, which naturally alienated other people, did not bother any of the three at all. They were broken and they knew it.
Fade liked to say that mosaics were works of art made from shrapnel. Cypher liked how she understood about art and Omen liked how she saw him as something beautiful. They completed each other as if it were a masterpiece.
Three strangers getting along. It was a great combination.
Having Cypher and Omen in her life became a habit that was sustaining the rest of Fade's sanity.
She got used to sitting next to them on missions. She liked to snuggle into Omen's shoulder, which was strangely soft. And he thought, that way, she looked like a kitten. She walked with Cypher around the base, helping him with his wires and cameras, while he chatted about a hilarious life story of his. Cypher loved the husky sound of her laugh. She got into the habit of making small snacks for Cypher, as he had that annoying habit of forgetting to eat. When she had some time, which was rare, she read alongside Omen while he knitted. Omen, when the knitting didn't capture all his focus, calmed the voices as he watched the smoke curling from Fade's coffee and Cypher's tea. They listened together to Cypher humming in that charismatic goblin way of his. Cypher got used to having both of them exist silently around him, finding it strange when they weren't present.
As Fade stood there, with her head on Omen's shoulder and listening to Cypher's melody, she knew that being around them was a habit she no longer knew how to live without.
And, like everyone else, she was in no mood to change her comfortable habit. Mainly because it involved the two people she didn't know she would love as much as she already did.

actually you know what
shout out to that one project i started and never finished that was designing every dsmp character. i did a couple collages but never finished. here were the ones done so far. (w/ notes!)
Tumblr media
I was just kinda going for the general fanon consensus on their design ngl. i wanted to go for more unique color pallete, i think, and while i haven't seen their stuff, i just put together smth that looked neat ngl
Tumblr media
I don't really see any ant designs that like. do anything more than make him a anthro cat. maybe i dont see enough ant designs, who knows. i also never see him in glasses. so i like the concept of him having glasses that kinda have cat ears because i think they're cool lookin. also wanted some puss in boots inspo. wanted to lean into the 'frost' part of his name too, hence the blue-ish tones. and wanted to throw in some red velvet colors for obvious reasons.
Tumblr media
I just kinda threw together design elements i've seen and liked in sam lol. i think creeper centaur sam slaps, and i like it when people draw cat like creepers because its funny. I also was trying to go for unique crowns for the like 5 people on the server that had them.
Tumblr media
i wanted to go for like the reds and blacks that he's known for obviously, and tried to lean into the cult thing with the egg with some choices. the AI art at the bottom was added because this was before i realized how awful it was, because i thought it would be neat to play around with design choices i wouldn't have thought of otherwise. the spider lily is actually due to my concept of having every eggpire member associated with a certain part of a plant, with bad being the petals.
Tumblr media
Again, another streamer i dont really know. just went for things that vibed.
Tumblr media
as you can tell i had no ideas for callahan. maybe i was trying to go for like an android?? idk man. the electric mask was for the concept of instead of talking obviously , the words would just scroll across his face. deer cape because capes are cool.
Tumblr media
as you can tell, i was losing motivation for cool designs and lacked inspiration. the land siren thing is actually my own concept/explanation for hybrids. basically a species thats highly adaptive that mirrors humans and often eats them. got land, marine, and air. all based off of animals that live there.
Tumblr media
i think i just wanted to bully connor ngl. i think his sonic onesie should be like the og movie sonic. terrifying. he also gets participation trophies.
Tumblr media
Wanted to go for like a big mix of stuff with dream because i had too many concepts. wanted some stuff from cat because, ya know, green and black. black mamba dream is cool, idk where i saw it, but its cool. i also like the concept of dream with butterfly traits to mimic moth/spider tommy. because butterflies are freaky but most people like em. the gold heart is because i associate that texture with the revive book. yada yada. this was also made before the dream drama came out.
Tumblr media
kinda just what i said in the image. the words cut off are made and portal. don't got much else.
Tumblr media
i remember seeing an object head for eret that had them as a nether star and its lived in my head rent free for a while. plus me and @espion7971 had an entire joke thing about eret being a god, so there's some vibes there. also the cosplay that isn't eret is by Ihaveakarrotproblem from the dsmp reddit. ( https://www.reddit.com/r/dreamsmp/comments/rnxly4/my_eret_cosplay/ )
Tumblr media
and eryn is where i stopped. never finished him. wanted to go for like a parasitic nether fungus i think, to explain his bloody arm because i think it would be neat.

So, uh... Lazytown was a thing during my adolescent years, but for me, only a thing I was aware of rather than a thing I was into. Even years later as I was becoming an adult and it had a revival, I only knew it through The Memes(TM). But late last year, partially on a whim and partially because August this year will mark the fifth anniversary of when a truly special, wonderful, and irreplaceable human being named Stefan Karl Stefansson tragically left this world, I decided to give Magnus Scheving’s original Icelandic stage play Áfram Latibær! and its direct sequel Glanni Glæpur í Latabæ (which introduced Stefansson as Glanni/Robbie) a watch. The first one was unironically fun but also super hokey and cheap in a lot of ways. The sequel was superior in almost all ways. Both of them got me in the mood to give a look to the TV show and see what I’d slept on (ha ha) for so long.
After having watched a few episodes here and there, I can say that this show...is basic. That’s really the best word for it. Worse childrens shows have been made, but better ones exist as well. Sometimes the writing is solid and will get a laugh out of me, other times it’s just dumb and eyeroll-inducing. I’m not a fan of the puppet characters and kind of check out when the focus is on them, the song and dance numbers can be hit or miss, Stephanie’s pretty cool when played by Julianna Rose Mauriello rather than Chloe Lang (more the material’s fault than Lang’s, she was a better Stephanie in her TikTok videos), and on that note I’m not even touching the Cartoonito Era of the show beyond the meme-worthy Robbie Rotten content it gave us. Also, how dare the show leave out Officer Obtuse, that is a crime!
But none of that matters because this post is really about the two characters pictured above - Robbie Rotten, played by the late and great Stefan Karl Stefansson, and Sportacus, played by Magnus Scheving himself. These two are what make the series for me. In the plays and the show, they’re the strongest elements. The actors’ portrayal of them is obviously a huge part of it (seriously, how the Hell was I sleeping on Robbie for so long? The guy’s legit hilarious!), but there’s something deeper that strikes me about them - they’re the best example of a Role Model VS an Anti Role Model I’ve ever seen.
What I mean by that is that Sportacus is the guy you like, you root for, and want to emulate in life. He’s there to make kids want to get more active, eat healthier, and make wiser life choices. Hell, he makes me want to get more active, eat healthier, and make wiser life choices! His athleticism and acrobatic abilities are like I’ve not seen since John Stork AKA Hyper-Strike on Who Wants To Be A Super Hero?, and his positive attitude and affable personality marks him as the Good Guy, the one you wish you could be like. ...But there’s always that awareness in the back of your mind that unless you are a very dedicated and talented pro gymnast like Magnus is, you will never be anywhere near as cool. You can follow in Sportacus’ footsteps but you cannot actually walk in them, it’s beyond you. Meanwhile, you’ve got Robbie Rotten, the guy you boo and hiss and enjoy watching as he gets thwarted, ridiculed, and bested every time he gets up to no good. You like him because he’s funny and not all that evil or dangerous (in the show, I mean - OG Glanni Glæpur was quite a different story), but do NOT want to emulate him and his lifestyle because it’s not at all subtle that he’s in the wrong, that sloth and gluttony are sins not to be encouraged in children. ...And yet, if you’re to be honest with yourself, you either know this guy or are this guy. You identify more with Robbie than with Sportacus because aside from the Jim Carrey-esque cartooniness and villainy, he’s more feasible. Any child could prefer to live more like how he does, and carry those preferences well into adulthood. It may not be healthy, but it’s easy, relaxing, self-gratifying and comfortably routine. Even if you’re better adjusted, you can’t help but find Robbie to be relatable in various ways at various points. Your want to not be like him is in part because you recognize in yourself qualities that he displays.
Yeah so basically I stan. These are iconic and immortal characters for a damn good reason.

Was thinking about the way my ocs change as they grow older. Like though the “REVIVAL” story primarily focuses on Jean and Salem, I obviously love my og cast and I’ll still go through lengths to talk about them.
I realized I kind of introduced them so far as “least changed” to “most changed”.
I first drew Advik and Morgan, and haven’t changed all too much since the events of “RESETTING” (aka my main story.) like there’s the obvious character development they’ve gone through in THAT story, but between that time and the future one, there’s not a lot “off-screen development.”
I’d say Morgan’s more cautious and Advik is more sure of himself, but not too much change.
Tumblr media
Katsumi and Avery are kind of what you’d think they’d turn out to be. They’re still recognizable as their younger versions, but more mature versions.
Kat’s still adventurous and Avery’s still ambitious, but in different ways than before.
Tumblr media
Sean and Trinity are probably NOT what you’d initially expect them to turn out like. But, it makes sense to me, at least. They’re hiding from the public eye and unfortunately it’s kind of what’s best for them, given their origins and reputations they created during the events of the original story.
Though Sean can’t help but show his face to the public from time to time, as a treat. Overall, He’s found that mutual connection between smaller circles (or individual people) is more rewarding for him than mass appeal.
It’s very hard to find trinity though. I think the public is still scared of the idea of her and that she’s just roaming around Evelow after her crimes. How are they supposed to know she has no desire to kill anyone again ?
Tumblr media
Hm. I wonder who’s next ?
