this quarter really is going by fast! i just did course selection for fall and with a move in the air i’ve switched over to online classes. hopefully it’ll go over well!

in the mean time i’ve got my introduction to databases midterm this week. it’s open text, open note but the professor said he made it difficult on purpose... after giving us next to no feedback throughout the quarter so far. yikes.

on this day in 2017, I decided to (re)start my studyblr journey! hello~ long time no post! so many things are a-happening!

it’s fall 🌙🍁🕸

i’ve had a birthday 🎉

i was called in for jury duty (cute pumpkins discovered on my walk home)

i’m on a working group for drexel’s updated LIS degree! our first meeting is next week.

it’s a new quarter with new classes! i’m taking information visualization and design thinking! both are really fun so far. we get to keep a design journal for design thinking and it’s been great for getting me back into drawing!

i hope everyone has been having a great start to the spooky season! check out the music animation machine on youtube if you want to see some cool classical music visualizations we studied in my first week!

06.24.19 >> start of summer quarter

hello hello! long time no update. today marks the first day of summer quarter and with that, the beginning of my digital content management (DCM) courses for my new degree! starting with database systems. it’s really weird to think about it but i’ve already made one for work without realizing.

i’m also thrilled to be spending this summer at the beach (aside from a week i’ll be home for my kitten’s spay surgery). my plants and i are thriving~

a lot of things have been happening but not a lot of them are studygram-able. i’m in the process of changing my degree, finalizing independent study paperwork for said new degree, starting final papers, and writing course evaluations. sooo much paperwork!

trying to power through writing my last midterm paper despite my headache, overwhelming lack of motivation, and increasing distractibility. i’m trying to finish it early so i can go to terror behind the wall (a haunted house) with friends on sunday instead of last minute essay writing. i’d much rather be watching castlevania season 2 and carving pumpkins though!

class was cancelled today because my professor came down with the flu. got to copy down lectures with my favorite fuzzy teaching assistant instead!

learned about cataloging and categorization today! for the record, Library of Congress cataloging makes zero sense and Dewey Decimal is barely better. why can’t librarians search for books using ISBN numbers like we did at the bookstore?

my ⚡lightning talk slides ⚡for my INFO 590 final project. we had to pick something we’re interested in and argue for one way that it’s organized. like a big old nerd i chose the renaissance faire.

this has been my absolute favorite of my required program courses. i started out thinking that i was a horrible organizer and learned that it’s really easy and intuitive, i just had preconceived notions about what being organized means as a “chaotically organized” sort of person.

ontology creation project: just organizing some fruits 🍊🍓🍐🍉

for real though this was a really fun assignment and i went so overboard. i only needed 20 terms and 1 relationship and instead i had 34 terms and 2 relationships. i was going to add seed type too but did more research and discovered pits aren’t actually seeds they’re a protective layer around the seed. the more you know??

in other news my professor offered me a job because i’m having so much fun in her class! my mind is a little blown. i’m still thinking it over but it would be great experience.
