Were you named after anyone?

Story Time! Someone? Kind of not really. There was a prominent celebrity who shares my name, however, I was born in an historical snow storm and there was limited power so there were candles in the room and that is what my name means "glowing/glittering/light" a family nickname is, in fact, "Candlelight"

When was the last time you cried?

Uh...due to hormones? Recently, probably over a commercial or cute animal. Because of someone else? May/June

Do you have kids?

Yup

A reading of my favourite part of the Barbara/Melissa fic "One Bed" by @cdyssey. She could say any of these three things but doesn’t; it was clearly a rhetorical question; she can see in Melissa’s darkly lashed eyes that she is willing to accept every wayward epithet if this is the price, if this is the blood sacrifice of their communion. They can be monsters with each other; they can be so totally in love.

My new couch arrived yesterday and I had a little cry when my old couch was taken away. Does anyone else anthropomorphize things? I do, probably to my detriment. Weirdly, Marie Kondo was super helpful in dealing with this, in that I let myself say "thanks" to the object for doing its job before letting it go. Woo-woo shit, man, but it works. (This was the couch I bought when I moved into my first apartment, and it had been Through The Wringer, but hey, sentimental value!)

In other news, I have tickets to a free screening of Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret today, and I'm so psyched to see it. Then I'm going to help my friend hang curtains, and then, idk, I want to watch a movie to research for soul.

In Hellcheer news, I have all these ideas for things to write, and no motivation to actually write them.

Saw this on @falsemortal's page and wanted to give it a go.

1. are you named after anyone? — My dad got to name me since I was a girl. If I was born a boy, my mom would've named me Dirk, lol.

2. when was the last time you cried? — Saturday. Was lonely all day as my fiance worked overtime all day. That coupled with time of the month and realizing some sad things. I cried at least twice.

3. do you have kids? — No, and I'm not sure yet if I do. I'm scared of pregnancy, but don't want to die alone either.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot? — Of course!

5. what's the first thing you notice about people? — Their appearance. It says a lot about a person. Their interests, their culture, their demeanor, you can learn a lot by how someone looks. Not everything, but a lot.

6. what's your eye color? — I say gray, but I've been told 'dusty sapphire'.

7. scary movies or happy endings? — Depends. I'm a fan of both. I have to read synopses and see a few trailers before I sit down and watch a movie. I'm picky about my scary movies though since I went to theaters to see It Follows and was greatly disappointed.

8. any special talents? — Does running really long distances count? I also have a knack for hearing a song and imagining music video shots or ice dancing choreography to it. Hence my YouTube channel.

9. where were you born? — Indianapolis born and raised.

10. what are your hobbies? — Whatever strikes my fancy. Board games, video games, RuneScape, making music videos, running, and now writing apparently.

11. Do you have any pets? — The sweetest, but also a lying turd, black cat named Suki.

12. what sports do you play/have you played? — Basketball until high school where my height became an issue (among other things), then cross country and marching band (I considered it a sport).

13. how tall are you? — 5'0. I'm fun-sized!

14. favourite subject in school? — Math, because there was always a right answer if you tried hard enough. And for an insecure muffin like I was, it helped my self-esteem a lot. Also engineering classes.

15. dream job? — It was being an imagineer, but now I think I got it being a programmer for a good company with job security.
