So, that shot of Chim talking to Eddie. I'm team "Chim becoming a mentor" SPECIFICALLY Chim taking Eddie under his wing as the newest paramedic of the 118. Hear me out.
We've seen Captain Wilson, so clearly Bobby's either temporarily or (heaven forbid) permanently handed his position over to Hen, which leaves a spot free for a new paramedic.
Cue Eddie Diaz, army medic, excellent firefighter and man who rips things open with his teeth and looks obscenely hot doing so.
Eddie expresses interest in being a paramedic as he's always enjoyed the medical aspects of things, and Chim offers to mentor him. This is an excellent opportunity to build Eddie and Chimney's friendship, cause those two are hilarious together and I'm very very here for it.
Buck's obviously a little pouty cause if Eddie's a paramedic then it means he's losing his partner, but Eddie's very reassuring that it's not going to change anything, they'll still be best friends etc etc. And now Buck gets to admire competent Eddie shoving in IV lines and breaking sterile barriers with his teeth. Win win really.
Plus, this opens up a role for Ravi to become a more permanent feature in the A shift, if Buck is now in need of another partner, which could give us some excellent banter between them
That is all, rant over, thank you for coming to my TED talk 💙

I just love David’s choices for Fourteen’s outfit cuz it combines a lot of Eleven and Twelve’s styles.
Tumblr media
Obviously the shoes, brainy specs and hair are Ten.
The coat, fabric and overall style of the base is purely Eleven.
Tumblr media
And the single button on the vest, which RTD admitted he had no idea why David chose to do that is exactly what Capaldi did with his first outfit in season 8 and brought back later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just one button done. And David noticed and did it with Fourteen.
Also, I remember someone pointing out that the tie specifically is the kind that can be tied into a bowtie.
Tumblr media
Also the LENGTH of the blue coat is similar to Jodie’s.
Tumblr media
I could be missing something, of course. These details are just what I personally noticed.

Garthy Propaganda
(omitting only the many, many "need i elaborate?"/"it's self-explanatory" with no other comment on them responses, the only edits i've made to these are correcting a couple instances of misgendering and misspelled names)
"Over in the corner, you guys see what must be Garthy O'Brien. They're a tall, muscular, half orc aasimar. They're shirtless with a few accents of thin lined, geometric tattoo work around their wrists and biceps, as well as some floral tattoos on their midsection. They wear no shirt, but elaborate fabric-heavy harem pants and fine boots with like a myriad of like belts and straps and all that kind of stuff. Their head is shaved at the sides and back. Little flop of black hair on top. The irises are shimmering metallic gold. So it's like a halo superimposed on a jet black eye. They also have accented that by metallic silver makeup on their lips and a little around their eyes. You see that they have a massive two handed scimitar behind them that has a lot of like, gold rings, sort of stamped into the back of the blade. And there are gold rings jangling on the back of it. You also see that they have scars on their chest, as though they have gotten some kind of surgery, that they have like, disguised a little bit with some of those geometric celestial tattoos."
"first time i ever considered Brennan attractive"
"Nonbinary people are objectively hot especially when they have golden celestial tattoos also the voice Brennan does for them radiates comfort"
"HAVE YOUSEEN TJEM"
"This is self explanatory I feel like. Goddamn they're so fucking hot"
"Obviously? Their whole thing is like, angel succubus and also everything else, 10/10"
"They’re suave, they’re sexy, and I’d risk it all for them."
"They are the most pansexual sexy mother fucker in all of D20, frankly I don't blame Sandra Lynn, I would fuck them too and I don't think my wife would even be mad"
"i had to submit a second form because i cannot believe i forgot them. GOD they’re so hot. i’ve derived entire OCs just so i could create a character in their universe that had a SLIVER of a chance of getting with them. i don’t even have WORDS for how hot they are just pure unbridled unthinking lust. and you KNOW they’re a good fuck too. like they KNOW what they’re doing. sandra lynn didn’t cheat on jawbone for shit sex, like that questionable choice was arguably worth it."
"they’re a pirate, they’re trans, what more can you ask for"
"Sandra Lynn and I have some stuff in common"
"I have eyes and a pulse??? sexy non-binary pirate with the biggest dick energy on the planet…. sweet Jesus……."
"This is entirely self explanatory I feel, but they have to be the single hottest NPC Brennan has ever done. They're live in a pirate city! You might also get to fuck Sandra Lynn and/or Jawbone if they're down! They'd be infinitely respectful of you! There are no Ls here."
"I’m asexual (??? maybe just ace-spec, who knows) but I once had a dream about Garthy that was the closest I’ve ever gotten (and probably the closest I ever will get) to a sex dream. Also I made a compilation of literally every single word they speak because I’m so obsessed with their voice (I don’t want to post it on main for reasons, but I’m considering making a sideblog just to post it…would you reblog it if I tagged you 👀👀)"
"EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM"
"I think I’m mostly just in love with Brennan saying ‘Lovey’"
"CANONICALLY fuckable. just ask jack brakkow"
"Smooth, silver tongued, confident, they know how to take care of their patrons and partners alike. Flirty, fun, hot."
"see. we all know they're hot and fuckable and cool as hell. we all know this"
"Yes."
"Pansexual hedonist, plus that accent"
"It’s the voice (also everything else they do)"
"intelligent, considerate, and nonbinary"
"the voice, the gender, the everything"
"Nonbinary. hot."
"The origin of Night yorb is their name. Orc satanist. Gnc. Buisness owner. The child and parent of ayda (my beloved.) But most of all they just got it going on. Milkshakes to the yard and all that"
"this is honestly objectively true. gold gardens. they’re just fuckable. their art? their tattoos? that fucking accent?????????? beautiful handsome attractive kind"
"They’re just. Hot. The pirate theme is smth but also just, they’re shirtless and full of good fashion honestly I would kill for the chance"
"they are a truly GORGEOUS individual, and their fashion sense is second to none. Garthy seems to be a bit of a cheeky flirt to be sure, but they're also a deeply caring & emotionally tuned-in person, & I reckon their foreplay & aftercare game goes buckwild. 10/10 would love to have a several-week-long pleasure binge at the Gold Gardens after a hard year's adventuring. They've got a 21 in charisma & if you didn't realise that just seeing them for the first time, you'll know it for sure after your first night with them! ;)"
"have you seen them. their whole thing is fucking people. HAVE YOU SEEN THEM. canonically fucks incredibly well"
"Look they run a brothel and they've had sex with both parts of a monogamous couple they know what to do ok. And their vibes are so comforting I love them. And also they're hot."
"Their whole deal + Descended from celestials specialized in fucking people into being decent."

Saw we can now give our MC glasses and for some reason, I can imagine K referring to a glasses-wearing MC as “specs”, in a similar vein to “rich kid”-it isn’t said as an insult, though neither does K particularly care whether the MC likes the nickname or not (Not expecting this to be put in game, just was a headcanon. Not even sure if that’s something K would do)
That's a cute headcanon. I imagine a nickname like that would be their contact name for the mc.
K would care whether the mc likes a new nickname they'd give them though. With rich kid, they weren't bothered much purely because they had a preconception about a rich main character, and it was negative.
Now we're at chapter 10, K cares because they've built/are building *some* kind of a relationship with the mc. The only time they wouldn't care is where they're obviously around an mc that they don't really get along with and butt heads with — but that could change too if the relationship/friendship did.

Fizzarolli was laughing his *ss off in the dimly lit corner booth of the bar that stank of lost hopes and dreams. Though still in a jester hat, the rest of his outfit was surprisingly normal. He wore a cropped sweatshirt and high rise shorts. His limbs were wiggling everywhere and if it weren’t for the obnoxious laughter, one might have thought he was having a seizure. Blitz prayed silently that no one noticed him blushing from embarrassment. He put his hands in his leather jacket, and spun around on his heel, lifting one leg up to start taking long strides out of the situation.
“Ooh, no you don’t.” Fizz extended both his arms and grabbed Blitz, pulling him into the seat, “Soooo~ Blitz! How are you?! Last time I saw you, we were tied up.”
“Don’t make it sound sexual. What are you doing here? I was supposed to be on a date with a guy named Fozzi. I figured he might be a furry or have a muppet k*nk, but this," Blitz gave a dramatic gesture in Fizz's direction, "this is so much worse.”
“Well, I thought I was going on a date with a handsome fellar named Bluez, who I thought might be a mopey faced grump or have sh*tty taste in music. So, I guess we’re both sooooo disappointed.” Fizz crossed his arms around themselves, a couple of times over.
Blitz opened his mouth to say something, but stopped himself and instead said, “Hang on; What do you mean, Blues?”
Fizz rolled his eyes, pulled out his phone, and shoved his extended arm right into Blitz’s face, “This is the account I’ve been messaging. See right there? B-L-U-E-Z. Bluez.”
Blitz took the phone from him. “Oh, ****** on a stick. I made my account so fast, I must have typed it out wrong.” He tried rubbing the stress out of his eyes.
Blitz looked up again at Fizz, who was grabbing his phone back, “Wait, just a f**king minute. Why are you on a dating app, anyway? And with a different name, to boot. Things not going so fantastic with the big c*cked rooster, afterall?” Blitz would never admit it, but he was genuinely concerned for his old friend.
Fizz sighed and placed his head on the table
“Ozzie says it’ll help our image . . .” He sat upright again, “I mean, my image. As a sexy entertainer and celebrity, I’ll get more press if I have a personal love life for paparazzi to dig their teeth into, something which I don’t already have, obviously. Because the thing with Ozzie is purely sexual. Because his d*ck-”
“Yeah, yeah. It’s huge, I know.” Blitz rested his chin in his hand; elbow on the table.
“YOu kNoW wHaT?!?!?!” Fizz stood up and extended himself really tall, which would almost be intimidating, if he didn’t look like, well, a clown. Unless you were afraid of clowns, which Blitz was (mostly) not.
“Because you told me, jeez.” Blitz rolled his eyes.
“Oh, oh. Right, yeah. Ahem.” Fizz settled back down in his chair, trying to pretend he’s not blushing as dabbed the sweat off his forehead with a long *ss handkerchief.
“You know, you’ve always been pretty bad at lying.” Blitz cocked an eyebrow up at him and grinned.
“What- what do you mean? I never- I haven’t-” He paused, “Hey, you two buff chicks. Dontcha got anything better to do?” He turned his attention to the hellhounds guarding him.
One turned around, “Asmodeaus said that we were not too-”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. But this is Blitz! A childhood friend of mine who is basically a pro level gunslinger or some sh*t. Not to mention he literally rescued me from being, I don’t know, sold off to the slaughterhouse or something. Point is, I’m safe now. Why don’t you two go on a date? I can see you two eyeing each other, and it’s f**king annoying. Go, get.” He motioned, shoeing the two away, who both blushed awkwardly, but complied.
Fizz turned back around and went stiff with surprise when he saw Blitz on the brink of tears, “Uhhhhhh, what the f**k”
“I’m your childhood friend . . .? Who you are safe with?” Blitz tried not to squeak as he spoke, failing miserably.
“Okay, first of all, I specified childhood. As in, I was friends with when I was a child. And second of all . . .” Fizz blushed a little, “I uh- you know- I mean, you did kind of get me out of that bind, pun intended, and you didn’t have to do that. You could have decided at any point that I was dead weight and left me. But you didn’t, so you know, um, thank you for that.” He shrunk a little, looking away from Blitz, heat filling his face.
Fizz sat up straight again, “And your punishment for helping me is having to save my sorry *ss again should another d*ckhead take me as his prize. So, ha!”
He meant it as a joke, but Blitz smiled and said, “It would be my f**king honor.”
They both sat there for a second before Fizz spoke up, “You know while I’ve got you here. There is something I’ve been wanting to talk to you about. You and Princey . . . Are you gonna fix that?”
Blitz rolled his eyes, “Ugh, not this again. I don’t know how many times I have to tell people. We can’t get back together, because we were never together in the first place. It was just a mutual agreement that it was time to move on.”
Fizz looked Blitz up and down, seeing that depressed undertone he was hiding so poorly, “Mhm, yeah, mutual, whatever. Honestly, who you f**k with or f**k up with is none of my business; that is until it starts to affect me.”
Blitz was taken by surprise and went into immediate defense mode, “The f**k does my s*x life got to do with you?!”

Can we just talk about Isaac discovering/coming to terms with his asexuality for the first time with with "Crush Culture" by Conan Gray playing in the background?!?!? Like that is so me coded buddy been there done that
But in all seriousness as an aro/ace spec person myself it is so amazing seeing representation that is so well done for pretty much the first time. Like, I've never had something like that so obviously stated and accepted so wholeheartedly in any form of media and it is so pure and I am crying tears of joy because of it

orwellian's a great word for it actually. "appropriate raiments will be provided" is the most disturbing thing in the whole series and i stand by that. this interpretation of heaven has definitely coloured my reading of the show especially how i see the fall so it's cool to see someone who agrees!
hard agree that pure coercion would be a total cop out. it's just that he does seem nervous so i do think he's aware of a certain degree of potential danger. i initially thought the metatron must have let slip an implication somewhere but i much prefer your idea that he suspected something. and well. i've been saying basically since season 2 came out that accepting the offer doesn't equal having completely fallen for it. will come back to that in my thoughts on the whole mess that was that domestic.
the blanket permission to come scream at you is greatly appreciated and i'll definitely make use of it; i love this kind of media dissection and speculation. 🦭
(p.s. i did indeed end up making the chekov's list since my ocd never can leave well enough alone lol. brace yourself: incoming!)
hihi again, 🦭 anon!!!✨
yes!!! in the context of 1984, especially, that line really is ominous; obviously there is a fine line between a corporate uniform and dictated dress, especially as the only scene where we see all of the angels look the same (iirc) is the waiting platoon in s1. otherwise, all of the angels do have individual dress/style (but similar enough to show belonging), even in the job scene, even if certain elements of their designs indicate shared rank or moral alignment... but the implication of subjugation made by clothes being specifically chosen for the prospective mind-wiped gabriel is... interesting.
and of course - aziraphale's outfit is very different to that of the other angels, in it being actual human clothing, and showing unashamed signs of wear and comfort. i remarked in a post that in job especially, his jobes (job robes) are very similar in aesthetic to that of michael and gabriel compared to say muriel's. could be that it's the appropriate dress of a principality rank, but im not... wholly convinced.
anyway, let's get on with your list!!! a herculean effort, truly!!! hope you don't mind, but a) ive copied and pasted it under the cut, because b) id love to use it as a checklist for myself (and of course if anyone else does!) re: things ive talked about, or indeed things that i have Thoughts on... or even things that i haven't thought to talk about and will probably look into doing so in the future!!!✨✨
episode 1:
starting with the big one there's the pre-fall sequence. the fall itself. talked a lot about these two things/the whole theme in general, found under the #the fall/the great war spec tag
maggie's spelling under the #we need to talk about maggie theory tag - babygirl is an angel, im convinced of it
"what's the point of it all" i mean, kinda talked about this in connection with stuff under the #god is dead theory tag, and in a couple of different asks; mainly that god doesn't give two hoots about any of it, and just wanted to give everyone and everything free will - and they have to work out the consequences for themselves (whilst she throws in a few chaotic sprinkles to keep things interesting)
shax's insider information about heaven ive definitely not discussed shax at all really, and i definitely have a few things id like to work out... main one being, for me, how she went from wondering where aziraphale was in ep3, to suddenly knowing how to exactly triangulate his position in ep4 finally talked about her in the #shax meta tag!!!
the demons being on half rations didn't really think to look at this!!! that could be interesting, especially with the short-staffed comment... someone did put to me that bc the apocalypse failed, everyone on earth continues dying and adding to the population of the Damned, so the work vs demon ration is steadily getting outweighed... but hm, could be something more than that!
"something terrible" because are we sure we're sure that that was about the stuff we've already seen you know, i wondered this too after ep6!!! it was a very interesting choice of words for me, bc whilst yes gabriel's fate was looking pretty shit, the line was almost a bit... well, over-announced? they kept repeating it? like, gabriel said he had to bring the box to aziraphale/the bookshop otherwise something terrible would happen... but why specifically the shop? is it just because aziraphale is the only angel/sanctuary on earth? is it because he was drawn to an angel that's also fallen for a demon? is it because aziraphale is simply kind? i don't trust that it's any of these explanations at all (or maybe all of them and another besides)... and tbh i think god has something to do with it. another speculation for the to-do list!!!
the book of life this one ive remarked on a fair bit under the #book of life theory tag, but it's fairly disjointed from other bits and pieces - tbh i probably need to do a long post at some point as to where all my theories etc join up... bc for the moment all of them are full of loopholes
michael and uriel's power politics oooooh i literally don't have a single scooby on this... id have to think on this a little more
the very highlighted matchbox quote this one ive had sat in the drafts for ages bc i can't quite parse it out - where does leviathan come into it? is it a reference to crowley-as-aziraphale spitting fire during the execution? why would it be on a matchbox of a bloody pub? is it a clue from god? is god linked to jim/gabriel somehow? gahd this one is still giving me a headache kinda? wrote about this - here, no tag for this specifically - and im still not fully satisfied that is the meaning of the matchbox but i think (hope) it might be somewhere near the mark?
1650 i speculated (or, well, dreamt up a hc) as to what this potential flashback could entail in a LWA response somewhere - in any case, give me the boys in cromwellian england and give it to me Now
the 25 lazarii miracle my batshit theory (and yet it makes complete sense to me, i stand by it) is in my #25 lazarii theory tag
episode 2:
heaven and hell working together as a single good cop bad cop system this is similarly stagnating in my drafts at the moment!!! but it's a bit of a mindbender for me bc it means i need to pick apart what everything thinks the job/satan bet was actually about... basically, i think it all comes back to understanding god's will - and all of them (yes, even crowley) have it wrong because imo god is completely amoral and is just the strongest advocate for free will... weirdly, i think the person that had the most right of it was gabriel.
"forces them under an awning together" god i hope this happens in s3... i mean there's no way it won't, right? and so many juicy possibilities (for my money itll be the bandstand, but equally would love, like, the stoop of the bookshop, and then have it mirrored again under like the porch of the south downs cottage) 🥺
gabriel's eyes glowing statements this tbh harks back to what i posted under the #25 lazarii theory tag - definitely something weird going on, and i have a gut feeling the boys accidentally made it even worse lmao
tricking heaven with a sleight of hand this is also going to require a bit more thought!!!
episode 3:
aziraphale's chekhov's diaries see im not sure how important i truly think theyre going to be, but if we go by the prominent influence of the crow road, it definitely has to be a s3 plot device, right? the only thing im scared of is that aziraphale's memory gets wiped, or he goes missing, and the books are key to getting back his memory/finding him... hmmm
crowley's consciousness extending into the bentley i think the crank is certainly important, even if just symbolic of his power - uses it to create nebulae, it survived the s1 explosion, etc. i do think bentley has its own kind of personality, but think it's borne out of proximity, use, and influence of her demon owner... obviously i could be entirely wrong, but i kinda hope it's more that he made her, and her allegiance as a sentient being is with him (and of course aziraphale by extension), mainly bc i want something to look after crowley... but then is it more poetic that the bentley is basically just him, and representative of him finding comfort in himself? idk tbh but she's a bad bitch and i love her
general resurrection themes ive talked a fair bit about the second coming aspect, but not about the resurrection and last judgement so much, so this is one for the list
gabriel's glowing eyes statements part 2 as above (and i realise that you might be talking about what he specifically says, not the general thing itself, 🦭 anon, but in a way what is being said is fairly self-explanatory imo, but why is the heftier question)
shax can sense gabriel in a way the archangels couldn't i personally don't think there's much by way of implication in the method in which she senses him (ie... smell? vs michael's weird sixth sense), but i do think there is something about the fact they can sense him at all... talked about in #25 lazarii spec and the #shax meta tag!!!
"it's always too late" oh god 💀 i had the most batshit theory about this that i don't even want to talk about BUT im with you that it's... an odd line. i love that it potentially references line in the book about crowley's watch being set to hell's time, which is set at "too late", but beyond that... not entirely sure why the line was said or said so... blatantly? feels like something obvious would explain it
rumours that aziraphale and crowley were an item that so far don't seem justified based on what hell knew. rumours that apparently had no major consequences for crowley despite one harmless photo warranting a legion to collect him [screams at 1941 truther sign] yeah this is how it read to me too, 🦭! something definitely happened after that dinner, and im not saying a move was made (and potentially witnessed by a couple of errant nazi zombies) but i think a move was made (and witnessed by a couple of errant nazi zombies) - #1941 spec tag
the literal chekhov's gun in the bookshop this one has flummoxed me, but i did read a speculation about continuing the 1941 flashback today, which was utter genius (and so much better than what i managed to dream up in the above tag), and suggested the derringer will make an appearance in a fight-ish scenario in that scene... which is frankly bloody inspired tbh, and im very much convinced by
the miracle blocker oooooh i don't have a dedicated tag for this but i definitely talked about it in a post under the #sanctuary/bentley theory tag!!! i think it was potentially a chekhov's gun that we didn't see get fired
sleight hand to trick hell probably one to look at in hand with the one above about tricking heaven
the zombies just running around london kinda as i said above tbh, not sure what'll happen to them afterwards but presumably a grisly end being eaten and pooped out by a spider
1941 full stop. we have not seen the last of that night. goddamn right we havent [skips around the 1941 truther sign]
episode 5:
the lack of demons available for the attack pretty much what i said above in ep1 about being short staffed bc the Damned population keeps increasing... maybe? still one to look at in more detail though!!!
"i know. do it anyway" "i know. looking at where the furniture isn't" not necessarily in reference to these quotes specifically, but in the general context - discussed this (and potential crowley memory loss) in the #the fall/the great war spec and #book of life theory tags
"if it happens twice it might seem like an institutional problem" oh. OH. THIRD EYE HAS OPENED. because we know two things, right? gabriel didnt fall/wasnt intended to, so the 'happens twice' isn't realised. and heaven does have an institutional problem, practically embodies the term. so if this is foreshadowing. does aziraphale fall. oh no. Oh No (ive sort of discussed this in #scapegoat theory tag but that was strictly pre-eden context...) this however has actually just made me realise that this is a chekhov's gun literally pointed at aziraphale's head... shitshitshitshitshjthka
mrs cheng's weird look across the street see this is on my list but waaaay down it. think she could be a demon. will work on it at some point edit: talked a little bit about this in the #shax meta tag, but possibly needs a dedicated post, idk
nina and maggie's semi immunity to miracles so the bit where aziraphale can't miracle them? that to me is potentially the same explanation as the miracle blocker post (like it all connects). maggie is more immune than normal to the ball miracle? see #we need to talk about maggie theory tag. as for nina... im still not sure on. idk if she's a demon (which for me is a Thought if we consider that hell are short-staffed; she could be one of Many) but it feels a little on the nose... one for the list edit: talked a little bit about nina in the #shax meta tag, but definitely needs a separate post at some point
shax saying the shop isn't an embassy anymore but the demons still unable to get in i didn't think of it from this angle, but i think my theory still stands - under the #sanctuary/bentley theory tag
nina and maggie's immunity to miracles part 2 oh oops - see above
episode 6:
maggie being able to invite the demons into the shop i think she's an angeeeeeeellllll (see #we need to talk about maggie tag)
the speed at which the portal opens and it's potential as a means of spying my latest galaxy brain moment (i hope) - #sanctuary/bentley theory tag
haloes and the potential consequences of blowing them up this one is in the #halo theory tag
crowley opening the files not quite sure what you mean by this one, 🦭!!! do you mean about his rank? definitely tried parsing this particular headscratcher in the #AWCW spec tag
heaven was trying to restart armageddon in a way that seems awfully unofficial oooooohhh.... haven't looked at it this way, but definitely will be!!! might link in with #god is dead theory stuff, but will need more exploring!!!
saraqael having their own agenda honestly saraqael is my newest bad bitch (gn) and if my #saraqael spec is even halfway true, im going to explode i love them
"i'm the only first order archangel in the universe" *camera cuts to crowley* kinda talk about this in the #AWCW spec tag but since neil cremated the lucifer theory (rip) ive kinda left this aspect alone... tbh i don't think he was as important as he's set out to have been
"i'm the only first order archangel in the universe" full stop. statement's plenty suspicious on its own too. this is....... potentially very intriguing
memory wiping as just a thing heaven does when someone disobeys i need to reconcile #book of life theory with this tbh - like, the focus on memory is so strong in s2 that i strongly believe it has connection to falling... at which point, where does gabriel demotion/mem wipe punishment fit in? and where does saraqael fit in, too?
muriel having the same kind of position gabriel was going to be demoted to vaguely looked at this in #book of life theory tag posts i think, especially in reference to how their potential punishments (in muriel's case) mirror each other
heaven and hell are technically at war now. its not like anyone with authority actually called it off danced around this in the #halo theory tag, in reference to aziraphale declaring this new war, and yet they've been at war for a long time? yes the reflection of it being a cold war but still... interesting to think about especially when framed like this
it's possible to remove your essence and store it elsewhere definitely need to explore the possibilities and implications of this at some point, but the suggestion i made in the #25 lazarii theory post somewhat starts to look at this
hell is understaffed as already mentioned above
the shax furfur alliance not quite sure what to think about this, and whether it necessarily means anything more than it's put across (ie just that they are the danger duo of hell in s3?) idk tbh i just need to look at them both as individual characters a bit more first #shax meta tag!!!
the many strange things that could indicate something going on in the last fifteen minutes god.... just anything in the #feral domestic/final fifteen meta tag tbh
"does anyone ever ask for death" idk whether or not to take this as meaning anything deeper than metatron just idly thinking "hmmm aziraphale could refuse my coffee, refuse a chat... at which point ill probably need to destroy him etc. hey, i wonder if anyone - instead of coffee - has ever actually asked for death? funny name for a coffee shop"... and possibly a double meaning meant by Nina saying 'everything else was taken'?
saraqael being the only one other than crowley who recognises the metatron and their reaction well theres my school of thought that saraqael is potentially closer to metatron that we maybe thought (#saraqael spec tag), but then again - and this exact sentence just reminded me - i think in this particular instance, both saraqael and crowley have just come fresh from watching the trial, so that's why they both remember metatron... which begs the question of what happened between the trial and the final fifteen to make them forget? hmmm
almond syrup imo, #omelas theory
the possible miracle chime ehhhh i know i wrote about this but im still like 50/50 on it... but it fits my theory (in the #feral domestic/final fifteen tag) so im rolling with it - i think there might be a chime and i think it might be a failed miracle to change the coffee
the metatron and crowley seeming to have some kind of history lmao anything in #metatron spec or indeed #the fall/the great war spec tags tbh
aziraphale's peculiar mannerisms im getting so lazy with these responses now 🦭 anon im so sorry, but again recently speculated in the #feral domestic/final fifteen meta tag
the way the conversation between aziraphale and the metatron is only reported and very strangely transitioned in and out of as above
the nothing to see here shooting of the kiss this one...
i know ng said it was a continuity error but. the time skip on the clocks ...and this one ive looked at in the #time-stop theory tag, and im the same - not trusting continuity error on this... not just yet
the something's up vibes of metatron. the general scheming and manipulativeness. the framing as the wizard of oz. the colour scheme and the dice on his tie. the sigh of relief in the elevator lol #metatron spec
the credits scene i haven't really gone into this in any detail and tbh idk if it needs it - i think it's pretty reflective of some stuff ive talked about in the #aziraphale meta and the #feral domestic/final fifteen meta tags
plus special mention: not technically in the episode but the distinctly ominous madonna/crucifixion promo photos aaaaaaaand this one is in the #mary/pieta spec tag
again 🦭 anon im really sorry it got a little lazy towards the end!!! but im very, very grateful that you put this all in a list, because ive definitely got some stuff in mind that id like to parse out!!! and as ever - more than happy to scream about things so pop on back if you feel the need to scream with me!!!✨

“I’m only a little dead. It’s not that big of a deal” from Monster Mash Prompts by @juicywritinghoard
Time is a construct (sorry for the delay! I was in deadline hell, and then I wanted it to be good, and then I forgot how to write for a while in there, but @ceilingfan5 reminded me.) Am I done with the vampire AU? Absolutely not (the one below comes first).
__________
Lup had always liked night shifts. They were wrapped in a softness that daylight hours weren’t. Everyone was a bit sleepier, a bit calmer, grateful that they had somewhere to go. When she and Taako blew into town and saw the near-ish all night diner was hiring, they snatched the jobs up. Taako cooked, Lup served, they studied through the lulls, and got at least one square meal per shift (plus whatever Taako could squirrel away into his layered coats and cardigans). It wasn’t like their other work paid well, or at all. Walking home in the early hours had its benefits too; they made sure to take the long way, the less safe way, the dark-alleys-and-unlit-streets way. Better them than someone else - they knew what they were doing, they knew why they were doing it.
Training was quick, Day-Shift-Carole was ‘impressed by their ingenuity’. Lup and Taako were grateful for mass production. Same coffee pot, same griddle, different city. She talked them through the till, the exact place to tap on the days it decided not to open, and the sticky keys that needed coaxing. She talked them through the regulars too, Lup’s favourite was Barry. He came in three nights a week, drank coffee, read books, and took a lot of notes. It turned out that he read about astrophysics, didn’t drink the coffee he ordered, and was definitely a vampire. Lup should have staked him by now. She was going to! That first night, she was going to, but then he’d noticed her looking at his hands (he must have been buffing his nails down every night to hide the points) and thought she was looking at his book instead. To be fair, The Disordered Cosmos was on her to-read list, and she couldn’t exactly kill a guy in the middle of her shift… not front-of-house anyway, so she went with it. May as well get some intel, find out why he was sitting here happy to debate theories and not trying to drink her like a capri sun.
A few hours later she knew about his job teaching astrophysics night classes (of course, could this guy be any more obvious?) at the local college, decided to hunt down his most recent publications to see if he actually knew his stuff, and had mostly forgotten about the whole ‘gonna have to kill him’ thing. She’d even been disappointed to hear the bell jingle across the door to announce another customer. By the time she had settled them and taken their order, Barry was gone, leaving a cold mug full of black coffee and a $20 bill behind.
That was three months ago. She hadn’t told Taako yet, wasn’t quite sure how. His new favourite sport was teasing her about her nerdy ‘boyfriend’ and she didn’t want to ruin that for him. It was important to let him feel joy, so obviously this was purely selfless. Plus, there was no world in which Taako decided that it was cool for her to hang out with a vampire because the dude was willing to spend an hour talking through what exactly here and now referred to and whether here was really the diner or earth or a tiny spec on a telescope some alien was using right now. Taako’d work it out eventually, but for now no one was in danger and Lup had lots to learn.
Barry stopped in at least four nights a week. He brought her books, recommended articles, and never made her feel like her questions weren’t valuable. She baked him cookies sometimes, just to keep up the facade, it was pretty adorable that he thought he was hiding it well. Barry always took them gratefully and told her how much they’d been enjoyed the next time he was in. She pretended not to notice the careful phrasing. He was polite and courteous, didn’t even look at her ass when she dropped the sugar packets… an increasingly regular occurrence. Obviously it was always an accident, but it was important research to know what his motives were. In fact, in the name of science she should probably slip Barry her number, get a chance to speak to him alone and work out exactly what his deal was. He wasn’t like any of the vampires she’d met before, and okay, he could be playing the long game, but why? He knew her shift patterns, knew her scent by now, could easily track her home. He obviously hadn’t eaten any of the other staff here either - no one had mentioned any abrupt disappearances. He wasn’t a threat.
She and Taako handed over to the early shift staff, shrugged their layers back on, and began the longer-than-necessary walk home. Taako was in the middle of complaining about how much he smelled like the fryer when she heard the crunch of broken glass behind them. Lup kept her walk loose, but glanced to Taako, he gave the slightest nod without breaking stride.
“I’m telling you Lulu, this is not the perfume Taako deserves.”
“I don’t know, I think it suits you, l’eau de frites. Tres chic!”
Taako gasped in horror at her teasing and replied in kind. Lup laughed casually, but tuned him out as she reached into her oversized coat pocket and eased her hand over the smooth wood of her stake. They were armed, they wouldn’t be harmed. She’d done this so many times, but the anticipation always made her nerves jangle, she fought against the urge to tense up, they had to appear unaware. This was the place she’d do it, the alley was dark and noise from busier streets barely filtered through. A slight crunch of gravel was all the warning she got, but it was enough. She and Taako snapped together like magnets, back to back, eyes cast over the alley. Nothing yet. Lup pressed her tongue against the back of her teeth, desperate to funnel the tension anywhere. She hated the waiting, craved the doing, or at least the satisfaction that came after. They stood stationary, no need to circle and search shadows. They were bait for their own trap, they had something it needed - it would come to them.
It wasn’t long before it showed itself. It burst forward and Lup surged to meet it. The punch glanced off its chin, barely connecting, but it was enough to piss it off. It hissed and snapped at her, stale breath from barely moving lungs ghosted across her face. She adjusted her stance and prepared to swing again, but it was smart enough to dart back before she could attempt a second blow.
“Magnus!” Called a loud voice as a huge shape dropped from a rusted fire escape, landing heavily. Shit, this didn’t fit the usual mould. It was rare for vampires to work together - more so for them to do anything quite so indelicate. Lup and Taako were used to quiet taunts, violent descriptions of exactly how painful the draining would be, attempts to find some psychological weaknesses to exploit, but not this. What the fuck did ‘Magnus’ mean?
In the silent second of the aftermath, the vampire rushed Taako. Lup should have anticipated it, they both should have. This was gonna come up in training. She winced in sympathy as Taako’s back hit the ground, relieved that his head stopped short of the wall. An incapacitated meal was easier to chug than one that was fighting back, and unconscious under a hungry vampire wasn’t the place to be. Taako just had to keep himself un-chomped long enough for her to stake it properly, and he could manage that. He had to manage that.
Lup was about to lunge forward when a blur smashed into the vampire, knocking it clear of Taako. Shit. Surely food wasn’t scarce enough that vampires needed to fight over it? If they were hungry they’d be less careful, but they’d also be prepared to take more risks… At least the infighting had given Taako long enough to get back on his feet.
“Yet another fight over Taako. At least they have taste.”
“Shut up, Goofus.” Lup didn’t bother looking at him, because if her eyes weren’t tricking her the fire escape acrobat had just rushed into the middle of a vampire fight at distinctly human speed.
“Dude, get out of there!” She started forward, Taako moving with her. What did this idiot think he was doing?
“Lup, run, you need to get out of here! Go!” The second vampire yelled in a familiar voice. Far too familiar a voice. Shit. Maybe Taako wouldn’t notice…
“Hold the fuck on, is that space nerd?” Taako said, slowing to a stop and staring intently at Lup.
“No?” Nailed it. Perfect denial.
“Lulu, is Barold a vampire? A vampire whom you conveniently haven’t mentioned to me? Have you been putting off ashing this dude so you could talk science? Endangering your dear brother’s life, so you can chat comets, blather about Barlow’s Lens, gossip about the galaxy? All while I stood innocently by, pre-seasoned in the kitchen…”
“No!” Lup repeated. Trying and failing to inject more indignation. Okay, so maybe she did enjoy his company and Barry had seemed harmless. Why was it a problem for him to come to the cafe and chat a few nights a week? Taako wasn’t in any danger and it was educational. A cultural exchange! They hadn’t met such a lucid vampire before, it’d be a waste to jump to immediate murderation. Although right now harmless didn’t seem entirely accurate as he punched the other vampire hard in the face and knocked him back.
“Oh, you already know Barry? I’m Magnus.” Said the tall guy, waving quickly before he grabbed the stunned vampire and trapped his arms behind his back.“Are you both okay? This stuff is pretty scary.”
Taako turned slowly to Lup, eyebrow raised. Lup waved anyway. Magnus seemed nice, there was no need to be rude.
Magnus held the struggling vampire firmly in place. Unable to get free, the vampire eyed Barry and snarled out “Barry, you absolute fuck, what are you doing with them?”
“Oh shut up, Archibald. Stop trying to eat nice people.” Barry didn’t seem to take any pleasure in it, but slammed the stake home with an unpleasant squelch.
Magnus didn’t let go as the vampire’s form started to crack, fissures opening across pallid skin showing the curdled burgundy light within. He’d done this before then, they knew to wait. The cracks widened and the vampire thrashed again, hands scrabbling towards its chest, but Magnus didn’t let up.
“Fuck you.” It hissed at Barry before the light sloshed free, dissipating as it hit the ground, leaving only charring chunks of flesh behind. Barry sighed and nudged them with his toe until they crumbled.
Magnus grinned toothily, pure joy radiated from him despite the streaks of grime on his face and the ragged cut on his arm - who came hunting in a sleeveless shirt? “Another win for Team Bagnus! High five!”
Barry looked like there was a strong possibility he might be sick. “Magnus, bud, not right now. These two have just found out vampires are real…”
Taako made a loud buzzer noise to cut Barry off.
“0 points for you, space nerd. Lup, you said this guy was smart, I thought that was why you liked him. Was it actually just for his ass? I’m shocked. You were so obsessed with his body you didn’t even realise he was dead. I can’t believe my sister’s so shallow.”
Lup was going to murder him. Maybe she could think Taako got bit during the attack, if he was possibly a vampire she couldn’t be blamed for staking him a bit... She settled for elbowing him instead. “Shut up, Goofus! I knew he was a vampire.”
“Didn’t deny staring at his ass though. Interesting.”
Lup exhaled hard and decided violence was definitely the only way to counter violence. It didn’t have to be true to hurt.
“It’s okay Taako, I’m sure Magnus already knows he’s very handsome, there’s no need to show off for him.” Taako’s strangled screech was enough to assure her that she had at least a few moments to try and talk to Barry.
“So… er, you, uhm, you knew about vampires?”
“We hunt vampires, Barry.” Lup doesn’t mean for it to sound so gentle, so questioning, but the thought of staking Barry hasn’t been in her head for weeks now. Fuck, was this a ‘he’s not like other boys’ situation? He’s not like other vampires, he’s different! He might be undead and have finger claws and I just watched him kill someone, but I think he’s special…
Magnus barreled into the introspection.
“Cool! Us too! Fuck ‘em.”
“Kemosabe, half of you are vampires.” Taako was still flushed around the tips of his ears, but had recovered the power of speech.
“You worked that out, then?” Barry looked at the floor and shuffled his feet.
“Worked it out? Barold, my guy, my dude… you only come in at night, you teach night classes, you don’t ever drink anything, you’re pale as fuck, and you sometimes forget to breathe.” Lup couldn’t help it, did he think he was doing a good job of hiding it? She’d clocked him within minutes.
“I was always this colour!” Barry said indignantly.
“Of course you were.” Taako said, rolling his eyes.
“Look, I’m only a little dead, it’s not a big deal. I haven’t eaten either of you…”  Taako snorted. “...or anyone else for that matter!” Barry continued valiantly.
“He really hasn’t.” Magnus added. “Scout’s honour!” He threw up the three fingered salute.
“How’s that possible?” Lup asked.
“Has anyone explained grounding to you?”
“If someone had would I be asking these questions, Barry?”
“Yeah… yeah, that makes sense. Sorry Lup. Okay. I have to get inside, but do you both want to come to the institute? We can give you breakfast and explain. Well, Magnus can, I’ll probably be out soon.”
“Just to clarify there, Barold, we…” Taako paused, glared hard at Lup, and continued. “...I, just found out you’re a vampire and you’d like us to come over for waffles and a chat, and definitely not getting eaten?”
“Yeah.” Magnus replied. “That’s basically it.”
“Alright, we’ll come.” Lup said. Fuck it. She’d been with Barry every day for over a month. If he wanted to eat her he’d have done it by now.
“We’ll fucking what, sorry?” Taako asked.
“Great! Glad you’re both coming! I think we’re gonna be friends.” Said Magnus, grabbing Taako round the shoulders and walking towards the mouth of the alley. Taako ducked under his arm and spun on his heel to march back towards Lup.
“We’re not too far from home.” Said Barry mildly. He nodded encouragingly and jogged ahead to walk at Magnus’ side, crossing paths with Taako as he stormed towards Lup.
“Have you lost your entire mind?” Taako hissed as he grabbed Lup’s shoulder to stop her from following. “You wanna take his space class, so now you don’t think vampires are dangerous anymore?” He grabbed her right arm and pulled her sleeve back to gesture at the small white ridges on her forearm. “Do I have to fucking remind you?”
Lup pulled her arm back quickly. That was a low blow. She knew Taako was worried about her, that was the only reason he’d bring this up, but it didn’t stop the sting of old wounds - literal and metaphorical.
“Look, have you ever met one of them that behaved like him?” She gestured at Barry’s retreating back. “He teaches a class, has a job, sits in the diner all night, hasn’t hurt anyone. Hasn’t even looked likely to. So forgive me if I want to find out more about what the fuck is going on. I thought you believed in evidence based practice? We’ve got some new evidence, so now we’d better do some research so we can amend our practice if needed. Or are you going to be a shit scientist and just keep doing what you’ve always done?”
Taako looked like he was going to fight, sucked in the breath to, then deflated. “Yeah. Fine. Academic rigour. Whatever. But if you get us killed I’ll haunt your ghost so hard.”

Yep the g-15 lens was developed for pilots as it creates high contrast with the blue sky and lets only 15% of light through. The shape of the classic aviator was designed to fit around oxygen masks and provide full field of vision coverage and did replace flying goggles early on, the air force issued them to pilots. Maverick and Slider are the only two wearing the classic aviator in top gun 1. Ice wears a shooter which was developed for sport (the hole on the bridge is for holding a cigarette to have use of both hands when holding a gun) and Wolfman is the only one not wearing an aviator style at all, he wears a clubman, which is pure fashion, not a technical spec in sight. This is an info dump I’m so sorry 😂
no no no don't appologise i'm eatin THIS UP
that's actually quite helpful because i'm needing to get prescription sunglasses and i want raybans obviously (i run a top gun blog ofc i'm getting aviators LMAO). I had no idea that the shooter was designed to hold the cigarette that's so interesting. wolf just being fashionable is a slay, i love that for him

Just saw your MDZS thing and I half agree and half not. Like, on the one hand, I think it's absolutely justified (though I don't generally support any torture, but this is fiction and...it's Wen Chao...), but on the other hand, it's not supposed to be black and white??? MXTX clearly wanted her readers to understand the cruelty of this moment. Wei Wuxian was so traumatized he became kind of twisted, at least with the people who massacred the Jiangs. But even though we all know WWX is NOT the evil overlord that the cultivation world thinks him to be, he is not meant to be seen as someone who can do no wrong. He makes mistakes! Some of the fault does, in fact, lie with him! He's not 100% sunshine boy! And THAT'S OKAY. In fact, him being complex is WHY he's such a good character! And it boggles my mind how people will go to any lengths to make him perfectly innocent and pure in everything (rather than being traumatized and human) while also vilifying Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao and Xue Yang and whoever else. Like, the latter two obviously did really bad things, worse than WWX, but they are very obvious mirrors to WWX. Xue Yang grew up an orphan on the streets. If WWX hadn't been rescued by Jiang Fengmian, he might've turned out the same way. Jin Guangyao was consistently denigrated for being the son of a prostitute. WWX also faced classism (to a lesser extent) for being the son of a servant (which Yu Ziyuan and Jin Zixun used against him). And don't even get me started on JC. People will go to any extent to vilify him when all of his actions make sense as someone who is also human and flawed and traumatized. Does this absolve any of them of their actions? No. But it does explain them. And just because someone does make mistakes doesn't mean they deserve to be hated and condemned (unless they're Wen Chao, who didn't make mistakes but who instead had an entire personality dedicated to being horrible. Pretty sure he's the only one who MXTX wanted to be a straight up bad guy, though if you can give me evidence to the contrary, feel free). Readers thinking in black and white and condemning other characters for xyz actions without trying to understand them while holding up WWX as a shining beacon who can do no wrong miss the entire point of the novel and do disrespect to WWX himself. Anyway... There's my rant over. Feel free to ignore this if you want, haha.
I’m not completely sure what you mean in regards to “half agreeing and half not” tbh. It seems to me like your disagreement lies with vilifying other characters when the main character is a morally complex character, which was my point? The morality policing was specifically what I was criticizing in my original post? Because, like, I agree with the broad strokes about Wei Wuxian and other characters’ moral complexities and grayness.
My point was that, even if justified or understandable, the torture of Wen Chao was horrific and brutal, and I don’t completely understand how anyone who DID read the novel (which I understand not everyone has and/or has a different interpretation) is willing to harass actual, flesh-and-blood people over liking a character when the main character has literally tortured someone. That’s it.
I actually made my original post after a bunch of Jiang Cheng antis (who I do actually like talking to and seeing their opinions when they’re not harassing others) found an Aroace-spec Character Tournament poll with Jiang Cheng and were incredibly condescending about it. Which is honestly better than the death threats and threats of violence and doxxing, but it did hurt more than it probably should have to have people so unwilling to even TRY and see why I, and others, connected to Jiang Cheng, even after reading the same book that made them hate him.
Seeing a character say, “Hey, what you did was not okay. I know why you did it, but it doesn’t change the damage you caused. I do not forgive you." to the main character was something that I needed to hear and see. It was something real, even if it might not be justifiable or “correct.” I like Jiang Cheng not because I think he’s always in the right or a perfect person, but because he’s not. And it’s fine if people don’t like him or think he’s the scum of the Earth or whatever, but I also think that prioritizing the debate about a character that doesn’t exist over actual people is cruel and unjustifiable. Ultimately, I do not care about any fictional character as much as I care about how willing people are to be so unbelievably inhumane for just disagreeing with them.
And, somehow, this also ties into my opinions about the torture and killing of Wen Chao. I don’t think Wei Wuxian was unjustified, per se, for punishing Wen Chao, but I do think it was wrong in the sense that the action itself is wrong. It’s not a “WHOOO! WE KILLED THE BAD GUY” moment to me but a moment showing the brutality of war and a literary mark of descent to the “single plank bridge.” As someone else said (and so many more have probably said), it was fucked up, and acknowledging it was fucked up doesn’t mean Wei Wuxian is a “bad person” or a character you CAN’T like (paraphasing). It just means acknowledging that the act of torture itself is fucked up, no matter who does it or who it’s done to. Comparatively, sending death threats and threats of violence and doxxing is also fucked up, no matter who the other person is and what they’ve said. Putting a fictional story and character - no matter how much they may mean to you - over actual people for often no reason is fucked up.
But yeah, I think “just because someone does make mistakes doesn’t mean they deserve to be hated and condemned” is one of my favorite aspects in a lot of web novels. I like that characters have “bad aspects” that while I may not condone IRL, including them make the characters… characters. That the “person” (character) is more important than whatever “bad aspect” they may have or mistake they might have made.
Anyway, I hope this clears up what I was trying to say lol. Not everything I wrote was meant specifically because I think you don’t agree or to argue with you, but to get my opinion across properly. I feel like we’re broadly saying the same thing, even if I’m not sure if I agree or disagree with the finer points like “Wei Wuxian might have become like Xue Yang.” Sorry if any of this comes off as aggressive, btw; it's not meant to be, but I lose my fight with tone everyday.

@edutainer2022 , the original post was so long it was causing issues on my phone for some reason, so I'm copying your last post and starting a new 'thread' (so long as that is alright with you. If you so wish I'll copy my reply and put it on your thread ^^;; )
Of IR is obviously a cash sinkhole. They also tend to wreck quite a lot of property through the rescues. Zero-XL trial and error construction alone seems to have cost a budget of a sizable country. Also... the way IR policy is about not saving equipment and John merrily suggesting Global One worth billions of hard fought for tooth and nail funding be abandoned - they boys probably never had to file a grant proposal in their life. In their life equipment the caliber and expense of a space station is replaceable on demand. Unless it has sentimental value.
I LOVE the idea Mom's heirloom money was a major contribution. Although, the old residence of the Gran Roca doesn't appear opulent - we don't know the extent of the estate (and horses? Where did the horses go?). Maybe smart investments, patents, not just aeronatic business. Mom is canonically old southern money (but still no name).
Oh, the Bereznik thing WITHOUT Jeff in the picture would have been a glorious mess. Scott is a) respectfully, a fairy nobody at that point (well, Daddy's boy, but no political and little economic leverage); b) all but a liability for GDF if they want to go ahead with IR - Scott is one foot out and vocal about his brothers being no foot in, the IR branching AWAY into Thunderbirds is afoot, and while it's not a problem to train GDF officers into operatives, the hitch is probably in the rights and specs for the tech (and Brains) - the Tracies are out, IR is out of GDF clutch. So yeah... Scotty MIA is more convenient... than not. So quite likely the Old Guard pooled up for an extraction that "never happened" under conditions that Scott's imprisonment "never happened" to anyone who should ask. Yeah, Scott doesn't like or wants anything to do with GDF law inforcement angle. Maybe IR is later greenlit under STRICT conditions they will only identify as civilians. Scott is so worried Kayo was breaking that rule as if their license depended on it. Maybe it did. He's worried as late as Chain Reaction (all the while aiding and abating an escape of a terrorist out of pure unironic goodness of his heart).
I agree, much as the idea of Military bros is appealing - Gordon indicates no exposure to that structure. Scott does, but, like you said, not in the manner that would suggest he thrived or wanted to do it for life. Semi-canonical "interview" with "Scott" has him flounder on a question what he would do, if not IR. The military service doesn't even come up. Something something about charity and philanthropy.
I wonder how much of Zero-X was built with Jeff and Lee in mind. Calypso was a two pilot mission. There wasn't much OUT THERE at the time to warrant T-drive powered rescues. No Marcian colony, nothing. Maybe Jeff and Lee felt stir crazy, "moored" on Earth and kinda expected to space-the-final-frontier it in their autumn days.
Yeah, TaG tends to be as hard on their equipment (and locations) as TOS was, but you have to factor that by the number of rescues... and with TaG being known, that means that people can 'contact' them for reimbursement for damages and harm and the like. Hck, protection from THAT might be part of the reason Jeff could ahve gone with a branch of the GDF initially. (actually, question... where does the Kyrano was a bad-ass ninja warrior come from? It's never said or even implied in the show that I recall. Is it just because Kayo is a kick-ass warrior? I ask because imagine if Kyrano was originally more of the lawyer type, or engineer who was helping Brains or the like). The Tracys, Brains, and Kayo are REALLY lackadaisical about objects and finances. Sometimes I get it, like when the choice is save a person OR save a thing... but they seem to be richer than even the TOS Tracys, and there are times where their lack of care of items is grating. Teh high-rise fire episode in example, where they took delight and went out of their way to damage the building / cut the top off of it - it legit would have been easier and safer to break the glass and lower the seats down, and the smugness to the building owner after bordered on them being asses. And in another example... yeah, Global One. O'Bannon was RIGHT in her call to try and save the station, that is a MASSIVE investment (and would have been a LOT OF DEADLY DEBRIS RAINING DOWN) and I frankly side with her on it. Like TOS tends to place people above the items too, but they do try to limit damage they cause, in the comics actually do their best to salvage /save items when possible (The ocean liner The President in example) and John and Scott even directly discuss how the Ocean Pioneer was a significant investment for the people involved and they should have tried saving it. Scott AGREES with John on that, but points out that they likely couldn't have done so before it blew up / they might not have been able to. In the comics (and novels to a degree) they HAVE made the call to save the objects as well on occasion.
On the Ranch not looking opulent... sometimes people with a lot of money don't spend it on mansions or the like, but instead on other things... and it's possible that the Mom's family prefered simply, homely, comforts and disliked ostentatious shows of wealth. (In an example... Tracy Island in TOS and TaG is like this. The interior is comfortable and not very showy... yes they're on a private island, but the home itself looks like a upper middle class home of the era. There's Virgil's piano, but it's a baby grand rather than a grand, and white pianos actually cost markidly less than black pianos. The game room has a pool table, but (esp in the 60s) Pool tables weren't that expensive unless you went all in, and even people on the lower end of middle class could possibly have one. The same is true for what we see in the TaG house. Upper end of middle class overall. One or two showy things, but not opulent. Not Southern money, Western money / South-Western money. Southern refers to the states in the south east and tends to come from foresty or farms, where-as western and south western are from ranches or oil/natural gas. (The USA is not so much one country as it is 50 countries in a trenchcoat XD The Mom's home is in the western states, which are about as different culturally from the 'southern' states as... hmm... Ukraine is from France. There are many simularities, but there are also many differences). Bad area for horses though, very rocky with little to no grass or open areas. Not good for cattle ranching either. Most likely it was oil or natural gas (despite teh show lambasting it, oil is vital for a HECK of a lot more than just fuel, and would still be required in the 'modern day' of the show)
Yeah, Jeff being gone when Scott was a POW would make for an interesting situation. a) Scott likely was at minimum a Captain, and the Tracy name would have been well known from how big the company was to Jeff's heroic 'death', so Scott would be in the very bad position of being a 'nobody'... related to several 'somebodies' who could be levereged for ransom and Scott himself would likely be tortured for information on Tracy Industries, the (at that point) shut down iR 'branch', the GDF in general... It wouldn't be a good time for him in the slightest b) Scott being a POW would, terrifyingly, be a 'good' situation for the GDF. He wouldn't have any information they would need to worry about, it keeps him out of the way and out of trouble, he doesn't have teh threat of leaving the GDF which means as long as he's a POW they have access to Brains and the funding from Tracy Industries, they might be able to get Virgil or John to join up (Gordon would still be too young to enlist, as he'd only be 16 or 17)... Horrifyingly, they'd have every reason to both make sure that Scott stayed alive... and stayed a POW. And Scott would KNOW THAT. Which would go a VERY LONG way to explaining his apparent SEVERE lack of trust (and at times apparent near hatred) for the GDF. He likes and trusts Casey and Lee, but the GDF as a whole? Odds are Casey was very much bending or even breaking orders to get even slightly involved in the rescue. Heck, just her HIDING the fact that others were planning a rescue might have been all she was able to do, it might have been almost entirely Penny's dad via his connections and possibly sending Parker in, and quite likely Lee finding a way off the Moon (oddly, despite my earlier statement... I do't think Kyrano would be involved in this rescue. There's no indication that he ever left whatever bolthole he fled to, and if he didn't show up to help when the Hood returned or when they started finding evidence that Jeff was alive... he isn't going to show up to save Scott. Which means the rescue party was likely Parker, Lee, and possibly Penny's dad... who I totally imagine to basically be a 1:to:1 for Sir Jeremy Hodge from TOS. Odds are all the POWs were rescued, not just Scott.
Scott leaving the GDF likely the SECOND he was recovered enough to be coherent / lucid likely was a blow to the GDF, as that means Brains and the Tracy income would now be gone. I could totally see them putting a 'if you become a military organization, we will be 'forced' to have iR become part of the GDF again... it explains the total lack of weapons on the Thunderbirds or Tracys (I'm sorry, weapons for self defense or defense of others is a good thing overall) and why Scott is SO INTENSE about Kayo getting into combat situations... but also why he doesn't really get snarly until Kayo WORKS WITH THE GDF. He sacrificed a HELL of a lot to make sure that never happened, and he likely sees it as the GDF getting one MASSIVE foot in the door to them taking over iR 'again'.
TOS Scott and Gordon show a lot of evidence of not only havng been in the military, but having thrived in it. And some people DO do well in the military, quite often very good people. But Gordon is only 18-20 by the tme of the Pilot, so there honestly is no way for him to have served while still having his lines indicating that he's been a full-time member of iR for a few years prior to the pilot apply on top of the fact that he shows NO behaviors or actions that fit with a former member of the military. tagScott DOES show behaviors and actions that match up with a former member of the military... but they match up with the behaviors of those who just did NOT thrive / work / mesh with the military life. He very much seems to be a 'I served and by God do I regret it' type (which hey, fair, some people just aren't right for it)
you know, oddly, I don't think Jeff or Lee (or iR) were in mind at all with the Zero X. The GDF wouldn't really want either to go out exploring the far edges of the solar system, and with iR up and running (and plans to go independent with it) I actually doubt that Jeff or Lee would have wanted to go do so. Lee AFTER Jeff's 'death' might have been interested in that sort of thing as we see with him staying on the Mars Colony... but not before, I don't think. Look at how happy he was to stay on the Moon Base. He had nodesire or drive to go out exploring, he was happy to stay at Alphie and only left when he had no choice.

My aro Pidge manifesto:
Pidge is the only one of the main paladins that never shows either implied or explicit sexual/romantic feelings. Shiro canonically had a fiancé (refuse to acknowledge that endcard), Keith is teased romantically with Acxa in the later seasons, and he has several scenes with Lance throughout the latter half of season 1 and in seasons 2-3, that can be very easily interpreted as romantic. Lance is canonically attracted to women. He enters a romantic relationship with Allura (though that was horribly done) and has several scenes with Keith that can be read romantically in the first three seasons. Allura canonically enters a romantic relationship with Lance, and shows clear romantic feelings for Lotor throughout seasons five and six. Hunk canonically has feelings for and enters a romantic relationship with Shay. Pidge never brings up romance, and seems disgusted the only time it is ever brought up in their presence. (Sam mentions meeting Pidge’s mom over a modulating argument in Season 6(?))
Pidge is the Paladin of the Green Lion, the Guardian Spirit of Nature. They have an entire episode devoted to their relationship with plants and the Green Lion. (The season 2 episode Greening the Cube) Plants reproduce asexually, and have no concept of ‘mating’ or ‘romance’, unlike most animals. Aro/ace spec people often use plant motifs to represent them, as in most animals there’s the idea of ‘base instincts’ or whatever that’s always about sex.
Pidge is also continually associated with the colors green, white, gray, and black, which are the colors of the aromantic flag. Green is, of course, the color of their Lion, white is featured prominently on both their lion, armor, and casual clothes. Grey is the color of all of Pidge’s self-made tech, (notably distinct from white Altean tech) and they wear gray shorts in their non-paladin outfit. Pidge has a black cloak that they occasionally wear (the ONLY paladin to have any additional non-uniform clothes until the last seasons) and their Lion has a black shield on its back. No other lions have anything similar outside of when they form Voltron.
Pidge is the resident computer genius of Voltron, who understands robots, coding, and technology. They create machines and algorithms throughout the show, and they never seem to consider robots as less than organic beings. These are character traits that, in sci-fi, are almost always associated with robot or ai characters. Said characters are some of the only consistent examples of aromantic/asexual representation available.
Pidge’s arc also exists entirely outside romance, and is allowed to have friendships with male characters without it every being colored as romantic or sexual in nature, something exceedingly rare for an afab character that is textually alloromantic/sexual. (One reason I dislike people who ship Pidge with other characters). When Pidge’s arc with finding their family is resolved, romance is still never presented as an option.
Pidge very much looks like “the typical ace/aro” in that they are teenage, AFAB, skinny and white. This is a stereotype, obviously, but Voltron was never above using those.
Finally, this is purely me, but Pidge is the most androgynous-presenting of all the main Voltron characters, and I’ve noticed that a lot of aro spec people often tend towards gnc or androgynous presentation.
On their own, most of these things could be waved off, but it’s very weird when you put them all together. For a show with as many romantic jokes, subplots, and relationships as Voltron, Pidge being entirely left out feels intentional.

....I’m not really here, you don’t see meeee
(yeah, it’s GO2 spec under the cut. No direct spoilers, I think, but I do refer to this interview from the 18th July (transcription by @fuckyeahgoodomens).)
(P.S. if you’re lucky enough to have attended the screening, don’t put spoilers in the replies please!)
I found this quote from Michael Sheen quite intriguing:
Michael: And why I think there's such a great recipe in this story where you have these huge epic apocalyptic, you know, massive backdrops and contexts and and big philosophical questions being asked but ultimately everything comes down to people being a bit rubbish of things, bit inept and you know and that's ultimately what everything keeps being reduced to and there's something sort of glorious about that.
(bolded mine)
What I’m getting from this is that, like the baby swap in S1, Gabriel’s S2 predicament ultimately came about because somebody made a clever plan and then managed to completely botch it up.
My main suspect is Michael, who stands to gain most obviously by her immediate superior being removed from power, but Beelzebub is a strong contender too. If Bzzbzz is responsible, my guess would be that they weren’t actually trying to harm Gabriel, and may have even being trying to protect him. This is because I have a strong delusion that we’re actually going to get Ineffable Bureaucracy. You should probably ignore this. Ahem.
My final suspect, though, would have to be Muriel. I can absolutely see Muriel, like S1 Crowley, being handed a big job and causing total pandemonium purely by accident. Depending how much their superiors kept them in the dark, they might genuinely have no idea that they’d played a part in the mystery.
The most likely scenario, to my mind, is that more than one character got involved, and the mastermind, whoever they were, failed to account for the influence of the others. And so it goes: an unspooling disaster caused only by people (and celestial beings) being fundamentally people, and therefore a bit rubbish, even the clever ones.

Feet, the Crucible, and alchemical symbolism of the Erdtree
I made a post a while back pointing out the dramatic lack of working feet in Marika's extended family, with Mogh and Morgott being the only two demigods with unaltered legs. Looking into Old alchemical text I found a good cypher to understand the situation.
In alchemical text, the Gold Chain is a concept the mean of union between opposites : Water/Night/Spirit/Sky and Fire/Day/Flesh/Earth. This concept is heavily linked to the World's Spirit, vaguely described as :
A Divine Circle holding the whole of creation in its center.
A Silvery Tree of incredible size, covering the Land under its branches
A lifebringing force, bringing many animals and abundant crops
A link between the Celestial pure and the terrestrial corruption (sometimes called putrefaction)
That's a pretty acurate description of the Erdtree influence in the Land's between. But it add the Idea of gold being the essence that bring together soul and body. Considering the Idea of imperfect gold present in the game and all the way peoples can be fucked in the Lands Between, it gives a good metric to understand what's going on.
Albinaurics : made of gold and silver, their soul is intact but they lost their connection to earth. Their body is crumbling and losing their feet is symbolic of that Lost connection.
Omen : made of gold and copper, their body is large and strong, but the corrupted gold make them loose their unity, hence the manifestation of the Crucible growing out of control. Now that the golden order is lead by Radagon, the focus on intellect mean the Omen are seen as behind mentally and therefore inadequate.
Misbegotten : similar to the Omen, but their gold and silver is much weaker, due to being lower on the social scale (akin to wondering nobles). Life of servitude brang them Closer to earth, tainting their gold with animalistic aspects of the Crucible. With the Crucible influence, they gained hunger and competition instinct for survival, hence the bloody rebellion in castle Morne.
Carian nobles and Royal spectre : None of them have legs. Carian nobles are obviously aligned with the stars, and are therefore more mind than flesh. The many arms seems to be a manifestation of gold, giving the ability to shape the world by uniting or separating materials (+the Fingers situation). This is put to the extreme with royal revenant, who are all gold and nothing else, a structure with many arms but no flesh nor soul inside of it. They throw themselves in a rampage in an attempt to devour things to fill their emptiness
Godwyn : All gold nothing else. I probably used to have silver, but it was severed from him during the Night of the Black Knives. Empty Husk maintained in shaped by the influence of gold. Spread across all the land to feed on Gold, to get back some substance. Interesting to point out that the Deathblight animation shows a Deathroot sprooting from the ground to Pierce the player in their stomach : the stomach being the organ most linked to the Crucible, thematically.
Mudmen : remnant of being barely hold together by specs of gold. When you kill them and take their (gold) runes, they lose all cohesion and revert back to mere mud.
This is getting really long so I'll stop there, probably will do all the demigods once i've got a better hold on the concept.

Fun fact: the "attraction to personality" definition of pansexual is based in panphobic/multiphobic misconceptions.
The definition of pansexual that this came from is "attraction regardless of gender" or "genderblind." It simply means that the gender identity of a person doesn't effect a pan person's attraction to them, and they are capable of feeling attraction to anyone of any gender.
Monosexuals saw this and couldn't fathom not caring about the gender without that directly translating to not caring about looks. I don't think I need to elaborate on why this is panphobic/multiphobic. Since looks couldn't be a factor, because obviously people of different genders look just so different (sarcasm), personality was the only option for pan people to be attracted to. Because everyone knows gender is purely physical and can't have an effect on your personality at all.
Btw if you do identify with feeling attraction to personality only/feeling attraction to who someone is significantly stronger than attraction to the physical appearance of someone, you're more likely than not ace-spec.
