Y'all I've been thinking about the second verse of Too Sweet by Hozier. There has already been a lot of discourse about it but here's my two cents.
"Treat your mouth as if it's Heaven's gate" To enter heaven one must theoretically be pure of heart or beg forgiveness for one's transgressions. Implying that the subject won't stand their ground when wronged as long as he apologizes. While the speaker (a cynic) is likely unforgiving of even perceived slights.
"The rest of you like it's the TSA" The TSA heavily regulates what's allowed in planes, this can be taken two ways: the subject has already been described as being much healthier and less hedonistic than the speaker so this may relate to treating one's body as a temple. Or the dirtier version is that the subject is virtuous and won't allow just anyone to share intimacy with them. Especially since the speaker references them going to bed at different times, implying that they do not sleep together.
"I wish I could go along. Babe, don't get me wrong" The speaker has tried to improve to become less hedonistic but is unable to change, to become the person he perceives the subject as deserving.
"Bright as the morning... Soft as the rain" further deifying and reducing the subject to non human idealism. The bright morning could been seen as referencing the subject's waking tendencies or their disposition. Where as soft as the rain has purifying connotations, rain is cleansing and brings life where the speaker see the opposite as true for himself.
"Pretty as the vine. Sweet as a grape." The subject is representative of the purity of nature and it's fruits. Beautiful, untouched, and sweet.
"If you can sit in a barrel, maybe I'll wait" If time makes you jaded and bitter maybe then I'll deserve you. Maybe then our flavors will match, you'll no longer be pure and untouchable but more like me. Fermented and aged past naivety.

Tell me everything about Boone that you feel everyone gets wrong
This is probably not going to be well formatted so I apologise for that in advance!
Also. Spoilers for One For my Baby, and I Forgot to Remember to Forget (Boone’s companion quest)
1) Carla! I saw this post like “I hate Boone for shooting Carla because she could’ve escaped.” But
- There is no precedent for escaping the Legion. In fact, the NCR trains their snipers & rangers to perform mercy killings, as death is deemed a better fate than the Legion. You find this out at Nelson, if you talk to Ranger Milo, and then what Boone says after your free/kill the crucified soldiers.
- Boone would have assumed that Carla would not be able to escape. Boone also is a soldier who was trained to mercy kill, as a better fate to being a Legion slave/captive
- Boone tells you he did not have the gear to take out the entire camp of legionnaires. He wouldn’t have been able to rescue Carla, and it’s probable to assume that Carla would not have been able to escape (from what we know of the legion)
- Also. I would personally choose a quick death by a sniper rifle over being a legion slave
2) Boone is irredeemable for Bitter Springs. But…
- His entire thing after that is you tell him. You decide whether he should move on without forgetting, or become a vengeful killer. Neither option does he forget what happens- his whole plot line is helping him move after
- He is undoubtably in the wrong. He accepts this, and in the game all of your options are saying “that was bad of you. Here is what you should do next”
- If you read any works on PTSD & soldiers (such as Remains by Simon Armitage), it gives a better view of how Boone & other soldiers feel after killing those who may have been innocent
3) Boone is my husband and I love him. That’s the point he’s just really iconic and very loveable

i was about to fall asleep but i had a thought about crimson rivers and now i hate myself:
in the latest chapter we find out that riddle’s most powerful weapon, the horcrux, isn’t infallible thanks to vanity, a young girl that died before getting the chance to actively help the rebellion.
regulus in canon found out about voldemort’s plan involving the horcruxes when he was eighteen, but died before getting the chance to destroy it/tell someone about it.
vanity and regulus are fucking parallels and now i want to cry !! they both helped neutralising/destroying the horcruxes!! girlbossing from the afterlife!!

This close to bullshitting up some rotb predacons
I'm assuming the Predacons and Maximals were still doing the war thing when the terrorcons attacked and fucked up their planet, and we know that Scourge has at least one Predacon badge among his trophies, so I'm pretending that they arrived on earth after the events of the movie, having been stalking the terrorcons and bring surprised to meet Maximals again
Shenanigans ensue as the Predacons are lightly forced to work together with the autobots and Maximals, for shits and giggles I'm suggesting that it's actually Dinobot in charge wanting to avenge the death of purple Megatron... And the Predacons are late to the "killing Scourge and the main terrorcons" party

Not to talk about the hyperfixations on main but I cannot stop thinking about Roman Roy's theme from succession. The abrupt catches in the sound that are reminiscent of paper getting jammed or a machine shorting that could so easily represent the abuse he deals with. How at first it catches you off guard but after a while its almost expected, its almost part of the music. the haunting main theme that's 90 percent of the song because none of them are their own people, are they, they are all the Roy's ™️. the way that almost the only original part of the song that's not sampled from the main theme is the steady plugging beat forward and the paper jamming. and what do they decide to call it? Hearts. Roman who was always a bit of a bleeding heart anyway huh.
"Is he in there? Can we get him out?"

to be completely honest i don't think writing about your drself as an oc is bad or wrong. will it help you? probably not.
but the universe is so infinite that there are other realities where your consciousness is in the body of somebody else you know irl... like, everyone is you just as much as your crself is you and your drself is you.
for scripting it's probably best to write in the 'i' perspective but it's not wrong to not do so because your consciousness has been and will go everywhere in different realities

Ppl who dislike older/adult timeline Shauna are so Wrong in my personal opinion. I think she's so interesting and a good example of how trauma at such a young age can mark you and leave you just so...perpetually stuck in the past. Ofc they all kind of embody this, but it's also just the way she has tried to forge this mundane life for herself and will simply never be satisfied with it. It's a punishment in some ways, maybe an attempt for peace in others. But it never truly works. And then also — she refuses to truly process things, she continually makes these choices, these near regressions, and refuses to accept that the fallout is the result of her own making.
"You know there's no it, right? It was just us."
She feels this guilt and this shame, she regrets her actions but deep down, some of it did feel good. There's a part of her that stayed in the wilderness and that part of her will never be truly satisfied with an average life. Violence is simply ingrained in her, there's something volatile just beneath the surface. And she's scared to feed it, but just as much she wishes she could.
This turned into a whole other thing but!!! Idk I just think she's neat.

NORMALIZE HEARING AIDS AND COCHLEAR IMPLANTS IN OUR HEALTHCARE DAMNIT
WHY does this need to be said. why the everloving fuck do we need to pay extra to just function at the same level as hearing people. why are some people being DENIED hearing assistance because they're too poor for america.
and, pray tell, WHY would you mock sign language and the Deaf culture and community in general? shit, we're not hurting you. we're just socializing with people like ourselves. just like how your and your basic ass and your basic ass friends only attract more basic ass people. that's where YOU belong. let us be where WE belong in peace, please.
