Something i don't really agree or get is fandom perspective of shadow being lame,cringe and bastard meow meow cus that's not really it either(surviving and trying to cope with the horrors? The coolest thing), more like a modern distorted loved notion of people, yeah is funny but also projected and kinda westernized(the inaccurated dub versions and dialogue), leaning away from the original cultural backgrourd that get's sleep on and puts a more nuanced perception of the games. Idk where im going with this but i don't get people popular perspectives idk sorry im a killjoy i just love the fucked up aspect of this silly franchise and it's characters(i wish it could get that deep again).

theres a lot of things that indicate shadow is a cringe little bastard from jp to eng, it’s like his whole. Thing. the fanon flanderization of shadow is crazy but the part where he’s a bastard is pretty blatant in canon

like, he’s genuinely cool and stuff, he has a lot of fantastic moments (if the world chooses to become my enemy i will fight as i always have, the entire somewhat ridiculous yet awesome finale of shadow the hedgehog, sa2’s ending literally cemented his popularity so hard he came back to life in heroes because people thought he was fucking awesome and compelling), but a big appeal is the fact that he’s also still a silly guy in a series full of whacky silly guys

the eng and jp dubs have their differences in tone in a lot of ways, and eng is not incredibly accurate bc of it, but shadow even in jp is still like. a loser (affectionate)—he’s constantly talking about how much better he is, he insists on showing his dominance over sonic (and others, but especially sonic) even when it doesnt fucking matter ala tsr, he constantly FULLY believes he is the most correct person in any and all situations, and that his actions are always the best way to go about it even if it’s reckless or sometimes unnecessary (the mow things in my way down solution)

he’s so earnest in everything he does, in his own special cringe little way, where he’ll say factually correct statements in a blunt manner, but also not quite … ? he’s very honest. he’s incredibly straightforward. every single comment he says, no matter how fucking absurd or edgy or funny, he truly means it. thats his APPEAL he says shit like “ive hit the ultimate jackpot!” and “this is like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me!” and somehow also “no one else should experience the things ive gone through” and thats all FANTASTIC

i like this twitter thread and a lot of jib’s threads on shadow, bc they know a lot more about the jp side of things, but tldr: shadow is my funny little guy. my stupid little pogchamp. my cringe little bastard boy who is the coolest and also the lamest motherfucker ive ever witness. i’m going to dribble him like a basketball

These damn jokes-

Hah, you thought you could escape them? The 'deez nutz' jokes, or any? You thought wrong. But it was another one of his charms. He could easily start a conversation with a deez nuts joke; and you especially adored when he allowed a bit of his unseiso side sparkle through the seiso.

Though, some did manage to truly fluster you. Luca could be really charming.

Sapnap was currently sitting next to Ranboo on the couch, after all of MCC Pride was finished.

They didn’t win, but they sure as hell did amazing. They had a lot of laughs, some panic moments, they all helped eachother out, they made a pretty good team!

Which is why Sapnap was unsure of why Ranboo was so upset and stressed out over not winning. But his confusion to why Ranboo is feeling,, well, his feelings, did not matter. What matters is helping him be cheer up.

“Ranboo, I promise, you did amazing. We all did, but especially you!” Sapnap reassured the teen beside him. A tear fell from Ranboo’s eye, and Sapnap wiped it away with his thumb.

“I just-“ Ranboo paused to take a few breaths before he continued. “I just want to actually win! I want my fans and my friends to be proud of me!” The sentence broke Sapnap’s heart. Ranboo’s fanbase and his friends were so so proud of him, they expressed it so much.

“Oh, Ranboo. Your fans are extremely proud of you! They express it all of the time! For you to be on twitter a lot im suprised you don’t know that,” the last comment got a slight smile out of Ranboo.

“Don’t even get me started on your friends! We are literally so proud of you, you’ve been doing so amazing. Not even just with MCC, in all of your content! In the words of your bestfriend TommyInnit, you are so very pogchamp and epic, Ranboo. And in the words of your other bestfriend Tubbo Underscore, you are the most epic person ever, Bossman!” ((a/n: i made those quotes up))

The thought of Tommy and Tubbo, and Sapnap mocking their british accents, made Ranboo smile like a little kid. He turned his head away so Sapnap wouldn’t see.

“Cheer up, Ranboo! Let me see your smile!” Sapnap grinned as he took his hand up to Ranboo’s face and turned him to face him. Sapnap then squished Ranboo’s face with his hand, making Ranboo giggle and push him away. “Sahapnap!”

Sapnap only continued doing it, and Ranboo was already forgetting his stress.

“Cuhut it ohout!” If he was being honest, Ranboo didn’t even know why he was laughing. But his laughter was cut off with a squeal and there was suddenly a hand clawing into his stomach.

“Ohoh shihit- SAHAPNAHAHAP!” Ranboo fell backwards on the couchand Sapnap only followed, setting himsef on Ranboo’s thighs.

“Ah, so you are ticklish. Thought so!” Sapnap grinned evily as he scribbled his fingers all over Ranboo’s stomach.

“SOHOHOMEWHEHERE EHELSE AND GEHENTLEHER! PLEHEASE!” Ranboo cackled as Sapnap quickly switched to slowly dragging his fingers up and down his sides, which produced honeysweet giggles from Ranboo.

“You’ve gone all red, Ranboo,” Sapnap’s playful grin turned more fond at the teen below him. It was an adorable sight, truly. The bright red blush on his face growing to his ears and down his neck, his wide smile, and his sweet giggles that could probably stop a war if Sapnap was being completely honest. Not to mention he wasn’t even fighting against the tickles. How endearing could one eighteen year old be?

“Sahahahapnahahap!” Ranboo whined at Sapnap’s tease and he squeezed his eyes shut. Sapnap brought up his hands to lightly scratch behind his ears, and he cooed at how Ranboo flinched and scrunched up his shoulders.

“Aww, ticklish ears, Ranboo? How cute,” Sapnap teased the boy below him, noticing that the more he teased the more he giggled.

“Nohohot cuhuhute!” Ranboo squealed as Sapnap brought his fingers down to his neck.

“I think everyone in the universe would disagree with you on that one, Ran,” Sapnap then slowed his fingers back to light traces on his ears, and Ranboo melted into the couch. Sapnap chuckled. “Yohou good? You’ve practically melted!”

“Yeheheah..” Ranboo then weakly grabbed at Sapnap’s wrists, and Sapnap stopped and got off of Ranboo.

“You alright there?” Sapnap said as Ranboo sat up, then immediately crashed into Sapnap’s arms. “Mmmhm.. tired..”

“Get some sleep, Ranboo. You deserve it.” And that was the last thing Ranboo heard before drifting to sleep.

Of course, Sapnap got a few pictures to send to Tommy, Tubbo, and Aimsey. Tommy would forever deny that he immediately went to Ranboo’s house to join the cuddle party, Tubbo and Aimsey later following.

A pillow fight is inevitable. Who will start it? I have a few theories.

Adeuce. Someone is going to get beaten in Mariokart, and fighting words will be said. It is only a matter of time before the first pillow is thrown and the bloodbath ensues. Year-long grudges are about to be aired out in this showdown.

There will be a brief moment of peace where no one is screaming, running through the dorm, or making a scene. And this does not sit right with Floyd. He's been waiting for this. Whoever the poor sap is that is next to him when the whim hits, is his first victim of the evening. I hope it isn't Epel.

YOU. In the first two scenarios, Sebek and Silver are on high alert when the pillows start being thrown. No one is brave (or stupid) enough to approach him and his body guards. But not you. Oh, not you, the prefect who's been going on midnight walks alone with the princeling, gaining his trust. The time is now. Ever so innocently do you walk up to Malleus, a coy smile plastered on your face. "Tsunotaro, you've said that you aren't invited to many human gatherings. Would you like me to show you to one of the most common sleepover traditions?" Oh, poor sweet boy. He scarcely has time to nod in response to your question before you swing the pillow you were hiding behind your back. It collides with his face with a soft "Whump". Cue gasps from Sebek and Silver. He stares at you for a moment with a soft "o"... before chuckling light heartedly. Picture his birthday event card. His body guards don't have the opportunity to rush to his aid. Lilia strikes Sebek in the side of the head with his own pillow, giggling maniacally. His frenzied shout of "PILLOW FIGHT!" encourages the other students to launch into their own battles.

Lilia is the worst influence at a party that has both Ruggie and Ace in attendance. Truly impressive. He convinces Sebek and Silver to "let him take over watching the master." "You two are young and should let loose every once in a while :)" Then as soon as their guard is let down, he busts out the sharpies. No one can look Sebek in the eye the next morning. He doesn't find out about the betrayal until much later in the day, when he looks in the mirror and discovers he is donning a new pair of glasses and a grand mustachio.

Idia is spamming pogchamp emotes over discord every time he destroys someone at Smash Bros. I'm sorry. He is. Maybe you can change him.

Ruggie's pulling that prank where you carry someone out on an air mattress and push them into a lake. And I really really want it to be both Ace and Deuce, who are curled up next to each other in typical bromance behavior. They wake up in a tangle of limbs, drifting around Ramshackle's obscenely large outdoor fountain.

Jamil, Jack, Malleus, Trey, Riddle, and Ruggie are all capable of those luxurious golden brown marshmallows you can only dream of cooking to perfection. Kalim, Deuce, Epel, Silver, and Sebek might catch theirs on fire a little, but they're totally still good. Please help Ace, Grim, and Lilia. Please.

you were only a knight.

it was something you told yourself the moment you were chosen to work under king venti as a knight. you were not meant to have much of an outside life. your only duty was to protect the high class.

you didn't expect to get close to the prince. you thought he would merely walk past you like it was nothing. but he talked to you. albeit it was about showing you around the royal grounds and having you introduce yourself to him. but he talked to you.

you both were young when you met, you both were bound to bond together quickly. jean and many other royals/knights saw it coming. you two were like best friends.

but you were only a knight.

aether stood in the backlines, safe and away from danger while you risked your life daily to protect him. you do not regret your job, but it was hard to keep yourself at a distance with your friend.

neither of you were meant to be seen in public together then neighboring kingdoms would see it as a weakness, you would be leverage for a deal.

you couldn't help the flutter in your chest every time aether smiled your way, or when he greeted you happily. there were rising feelings and you hated it. this was not supposed to happen.

you knew enemies would use it to their advantage if they found out about your liking to the prince. so, you trapped yourself in your own web. you were merely a pawn to keep the kingdom safe, you were only a death fodder to keep enemies away from aether, you were gonna die, you didn't need feelings.

you're a knight. not a lover.

you had death written on your hands in red blood. you were a murderer. you did not deserve love. feelings were irrelevant when your time ticks faster than the rest. you were only to be used and never kept for long. you were a ticking time bomb, ready to lose yourself at any given moment.

you cannot fall in love with someone you can't even get.

sometimes you wished that you were a royal in another life. maybe then you would have a chance but you knew this would be the best chance, even if you were to sacrifice your life for his.

time continues to tick and you're often someone the other knights go to for help but you never seem to get at least a thanks out of them. this pattern seems to go on, you get them what you need and then they leave.

you start to wonder, is this how maid noelle feels? but they thank her... why don't they thank you? are you not worth a thank you at least? you shake off the thoughts, refocusing on your training. but unluckily, the knights are called for a meeting.

you arrive and it seems like everyone is going miles a minute with how much buzz there is in the room. eventually, kaeya, the captain, quiets the room down and informs everyone that there's a kingdom that has called war on the kingdom of anemo. this was your time.

you're a knight, a pawn ready to be thrown away after its use.

the sounds of screams and crackling fire echoes in your ears as you slash your sword in a quick manner, finishing off an enemy. there's a slight ringing in your ear as you weren't prepared to experience any explosions. it's mind numbingly horrifying to see the amounts of lives that were stolen from this war. traces of elemental visions lined the fields and yet you still stood your ground against the enemies.

but of course, you had injuries littered all over your body. you lacked a vision which made you an easy target but your years of training never went to waste.

you were truly a self sacrificial person. maybe too much self sacrificial. you learned that you would put your life on the line even if it was just a thin thread you couldn't see. you would rather see the prince alive and healthy than you alive and healthy. you figured that certainly wasn't a healthy mindset and yet you were too blinded by your buried emotions to even stop the cycle.

thoughts were running at top speed as you continued to fight. you could feel your stamina drain with every enemy you finish off. you don't know how much longer you can continue. your vision is spotted with darkness before you have time to realize...you're gonna die. your breathing is shallow and shaky, your body feels numb. you can't see or feel anything, your body is done and yet your mind still runs. if this is how you die, you would not mind.

you're only a knight and nothing more.

you're awake...?

but how? your thoughts gather slowly as you attempt to move your body. everything is still numb. you manage to open your eyes, the lights in the room were dim which helped you adjust quicker.

just out of your peripheral vision, you can see a small tuft of blonde hair. your heart just beats a little faster, was it aether? did he wait for you?

"you're awake." his voice was firm and almost blunt. was this really the aether you grew up with? "i don't know if you can hear me well but you're lucky that someone else had came to save you. we couldn't let one of our stronger knights die like that. i'll be going now." and just like that he left. why did you expect him to say something else?

you were only a knight. nothing more, nothing less.

he's not supposed to care for you. he doesn't need to care for you. you had that sliver of hope that maybe...just maybe, his heart would beat for you just like how yours beats for him. but now you remember,

you're only a knight. you're only a pawn. you're below him. you're not worthy of a prince's love.

tears well up in your eyes as the thoughts begin to settle and ruminate in your mind. why did you fight so hard for someone who never loved you back?

yoosung:

not gonna lie, poor baby yoosung is probably the one *being* called the pet names most of the time; but after a while he does start to get more comfortable and less anxious and flusterable (is that word? LMAO) when giving affection to the MC. he starts off very slowly, calling you the pet names when you’re both sleepy, or when you’re focused on a game with him, so you don’t notice it too much (though his face still reddens in anticipation to your reaction) and then pet names become a more natural thing for him, and just start slipping out- especially if you give him a positive reaction because he just wants to see you happy!

pet names include: - honey (delivered with a cheesy grin, he thinks he’s all smooth and classy) - bubby (literally just baby but with extra yoosung sweetness added - it started out as something he used in his sleepy voice and then you picked up a liking to it- it still kind of embarrasses him) - birdie (likes the concept of you being all small and fluffy- *is small and fluffy*- yoosung’s version of the classic pet name ‘dove’) - snuggles (definitely WAS NOT the name of his old teddy bear that he MAYBE still keeps as a SECRET to cuddle when he misses you-) - his little pogchamp

this man. this man is so nonchalantly smooth. he doesn’t even know it - or maybe he does - you can’t tell because he’ll just slip in a pet name mid-convo and make you mELT. when he gets soft... pet names are maybe one of his favourite things to tell you, because he gets to show you his more vulnerable and affectionate sides. he uses pet names as a way to spoil you - and spoil you he does because HIS VOICE *IS HEAVEN*, and the light kisses and touches he places on you as he speaks to you so fondly are a BIIG BONUSS. it takes him a while to start using more ‘personalized’ pet names - he sticks to the generic ones at first, they’re classy and simple - but after a while he conjures up newer ones out of his sheer emotion for you - only to be used in private though.

pet names include: - the usual at first, dear, beloved, honey, love - AND THEN BOOM: precious (you are the most precious thing in his life HANDS DOWN. gets so sentimental when he uses it aswell - will whisper it to you before bed or when he’s trying to comfort you - nothing in this world compares to how much you mean to him) - kitten (yeah you thought i would stop myself - no.) - mr/mrs/mx* han (after you get married he does this a lot in public - maybe to show off a little bit and see everyone’s surprised faces as he follows it with ‘dear’ or something - he isn’t big into PDA but he has his smug sneaky ways of letting you know that he is thankful to have you) - HIS prince/princess/your majesty/highness: (DUUUDE... he wants the BEST for you - you’ve finally shown him what the wonderful feelings of love do! you hold that power over him at least! ...will kiss your hand when he uses this)

saeyoung:

saeyoung has... stranger more unique ways to show you affection, and the pet names he uses do not escape his whacky tendencies - uses pet names as a way to put a smile on your face and to make you laugh, to see that cute bright smile on your face! of course though, saeyoung has a (small) share of pet names that are more sensical and have some sort of more obvious meaning behind them. he starts off using dumb pet names, then as he gets emotionally attached stops, then he accepts he loves you and starts using really cheesey pet names, theenn he regains some of his happiness with you and becomes more jokey again (WHEW!).

pet names include: (besides the normal boooring ones /j) - his star (you guided him to his happiness... you shone for him brightly when he had no shine himself - you cheered him up with your beauty and warmth - and you guys did kick ass stuff in his good end like it was a MOVIE or something – also spaaace??) - weird food names - starts off as honey and sweetie pie - gets weird fast... will call you his chip and his nurse pepper ( doctor is reserved for the drink - otherwise it gets confusing) - LOWKEY MAKES FUN OF YOU... if you’re short he’ll call you shortie - if you’re tall he calls you tallie (haha funny.) if you’re blonde he calls you blondie, and if you have freckles or dimples OR GLASSES - consider it your new name. also starts calling you after the things you wear - if you wear chains, he calls you chains, if you wear dramatic makeup, he starts calling you a diva - will call you noob i’m sorry - sweet cheeks (SEVEN WHICH CHEEKS-) - boople snoot (yes.) - his galaxy (the seven alternative to my world)

saeran:

okay so - it’s assumed that saeran is actually a DID system but i’m writing for good end saeran because um - lets be honest the alters were not the most healthy and probably wouldn’t have been doing any pet name calling (ray being too insecure, black suit saeran and unknown... being black suit saeran and unknown? it would have been sarcastic and mean)

after all of the hardships you guys had gone through... saeran was TERRIFIED that you would leave because why on earth would you want to stick by with him i mean?? all he had known his whole life is literally mistreatment he thought you were too good to be true. but you stuck by and you gave him what he had needed for so long - you always made him feel safe and he finally belonged somewhere, felt like the world wasn’t ALWAYS out for him, he could breathe easier now. very reluctant at first - messing up with you especially gave him paralyzing fear. but then you showed him such loyalty, he looked at you and saw that yes you made mistakes, that you were human, and you reminded him that it was okay to be human too. so slowly he trusted that you would accept him being affectionate back - he wanted to appreciate you like you appreciated him - despite all of the flaws he saw in himself constantly. (WHOO I LOVE SAERAN SO MUCH OMG CAN YOU TELL??)

pet names include: - angel (do i need to explain this?? you’ve saved his life - his future, everything. he sees you with a halo around your head constantly, even at your darkest moments, because he’s been there before too!) - flower (at first glance may seem like a cute thing because ray liked gardening - which sure part of it is that - but moreover he talks about your beauty when he uses this pet name, about how happy you make him, he sees you as someone delicate and gentle yet at the same time someone bold and bright - someone that the world NEEDS) - sunshine (you brighten his day, his month, his year, his life - aaand well a garden does need sunshine doesn’t it? you keep him going when he feels like giving up) - love and dear (too classic not to be included with a man that wore fancy suits JHGH) - sweetheart/sweetie/honey (along with his big sweet tooth - he thinks you’re the sweetest person he’s ever met) - sugarplum (pls let me have this)

law student dark academia pogchamp?

(think this will be the opening passage of up in flames! I think it’s p cool.)

As a proud graduate of pre-pre-law school, I do, in fact, have an incredible amount of information with incredibly few amounts of practical applications—that being said, I did learn three important things about lawyers and law students, and I’ll share them with you now.

The first is regarding trial lawyers specifically, which, incidentally, my friends and I all were (aspiring ones, anyhow). The fact of the matter is that despite being the faces of the field, the people that are pictured at the word “lawyer”, trial lawyers are actually the least lawyer-like of any of them. The vast majority of lawyers are disagreeable paper pushers; trial lawyers, on the other hand, have to be poised and charming and brilliant. And trial lawyers don’t even care about the law, not really—they care about creating a story that captures the jury, that captures themselves. They aren’t lawyers, they’re story-tellers creating truth instead of telling it, and when that stops being enough, they become judges playing God.

The second thing I learned is that lawyers are captivated by crime. They’re enraptured by it, even, they truly are. I cannot express to you strongly enough how thin the line is between lawyers and criminals; in any lawyer’s lifetime, there were countless instances where they were faced with the lawyer-criminal fork in the road and almost made the other choice, and at any given moment, any given lawyer is one step away from crossing over to the other side.

The third and final thing I learned is that lawyers are passionate people. They’re fantastically obsessive, and they’re constantly chasing the high of feeling like they’ve won, at any expense.

When you think about it that way, when you put the pieces together, it almost isn’t a surprise about what happened. I’m not saying that it was justified, what we did. I’m just telling you that nobody should have been surprised.

i’d say he and dazai are probably. quite friendly with eachother. they’re actually pretty civil with each other in prison and as the chapters go on i’d say they actually like. do talk quite friendly-ly with each other, like yea theyre both trying to work out eachothers plans & communications method so they can like. defeat each other, but thats just technicalities i think they probably do like eachother as friends in canon.
