mostly all for the game and simon snow series, have dabbled in & posted even less for check please, captain america, and one direction! i feel like i’m missing something but regardless my fixations are hardcore, so all except like 4k of that posted wc is for either aftg or ss hahahha

not very often, but i wish i did. i am stricken with a combination of being really awkward when people are nice to me & being bad at interacting with anyone in ways i fear could be perceived as ingenuine. im not sure if that makes sense LMAO. and sometimes when i put a story out, i kind of feel like i’ve said my piece — i’ve put so much into it that i don’t really know what else to say!

anyway, i always reply to questions, because that’s got clear social boundaries hahaha, and i DO love talking abt my stories!! and sometimes i’ll reply to comments that really get me thinking. but yeah, i know i reply less than i could, and i want to like double down on the fact that i am endlessly grateful for everyone who has ever left a comment on my work <3

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i have killed simon snow twice lmfao. i’d actually classify icarus as rather hopeful — it’s about grief & healing. but legacies is just fucked up lmfao

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

oh man, i write a lot of happy endings haha. i feel like even when my story is tonally darker (rare), it still has a happy or at least hopeful ending. this is probably not the correct answer, but i think sing of the moon has a really vividly happy ending. like — the sun rises for the first time in the whole fic! amazing. or maybe my high school au, We Can Live Forever, which is just the happiest thing i’ve ever written. 

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not really, thankfully! people are smartasses sometimes but overall ive been lucky. there have been a couple of fics where ive winced before hitting post, but it usually ends up fine

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yessss. i guess i mostly write tender smut, bc i write tender things in general. i think my smut tends to be rather exploratory/playful as well? intentionally sloppy and awkward choreography hahaha

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

sort of LOL. once upon a time i was betaing @tea-brigade's medieval snowbaz au, Reliquary of an Arsonist, and there’s this part where three highway bandits mug simon and baz and then get blasted by simon’s chosen one magic. i am sick in the head so im in the google doc like “lol what if its kandreil.” and then i was like… what if it was kandreil….. and so i wrote Reliquary of a Bandit

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

i recently collaborated with @thewholelemon on our episode of Star Trek: Redemption, Heart-Shaped Box. by which i mean: i wrote the outline & a few scenes, got really overwhelmed, and jenny turned it into something worth reading! 

i also wrote Good Boy in the snowbaz stoner verse with @starwarned, which was rly fun — we sat in the google doc for like, 5 hours trading back and forth on POVs as we wrote pure porn together LOL. it’s funny to think about this, because lauren knows like everything abt me now but we did not know each other as well back then!!! and we were just like “yeah lets write porn together” hahahahha 

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

right now it is deeefinitely andreil… they are everything to me for reasons i just cannot possibly be brief about LOL so ill just leave it at that

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

i have a postcanon snowbaz time travel/time loop wip that i was going to try to write for COBB this year but i fucked up the deadlines then the brainrot was like “guess that means more andreil !”. i did SO MUCH research for it and i think it’s rather clever and smutty and fun bc they are yeeted back to watford era! but it’s also dealing with snowbaz, who are in their late 20s and are like in a relationship low point/actively fighting when they end up in the loop… so they are dealing with that tension at the same time as they are trying to get out of the loop. and also fucking around watford to fulfill fantasies HAHAHA

16. What are your writing strengths?

characterization is the thing i care most about! and i think that’s the draw of fanfic in particular to me — i love getting such a grasp on a character that i can translate them into endless situations while still making them feel true to self. i rarely let myself publish anything until i can read through the whole thing without any he would not fucking say that moments hahahha. this is of course pertaining to my own interpretations of the characters, which is the only thing i care abt lmfao

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

i rely a lot on body language because im always writing abt reticent fuckers who cant use their words. but i think i sometimes overcompensate, or describe actions that don't actually fit the scene. i've seen this described as "cheek-biting" -- like, throwing in action during a conversation just to delay the pacing/further the tone, but when you really look at it, it's not necessary. (cheek-biting being like, "character bites at their cheek" in the middle of a tense conversation)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i don’t really know any other languages! i think i’ve put a little bit of french in neil/kevin/baz POVs before, but my french knowledge is elementary at best. love the idea of it though.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

one direction babyyyyyyyy !! i wrote quite a bit of it in like 2012-2015 but published very little. there’s 1 on my ao3, some lost somewhere on fanfiction.net (i dont rmr my username lol), and tons in my folders from my old laptop lol.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

hmmmmm. im gonna cheat bc i cant pick a single favorite. i always say i think No Turning Back is some of my best writing from a craft standpoint, and it also includes my favorite type of conflict (andrew self-destructing lol). however, i reread both that fic & We Can Live Forever on a plane trip recently after not having touched either for 6+ months — and the solidness of We Can Live Forever actually surprised me, especially because i wrote the majority of that fic while i was stoned and also view it as just exceedingly silly. the world of it is just very rich, and also very very different from the typical character backstories, and i’m very proud of how much that reread played with my heartstrings.  

ok last one — there are several installments of my flashes of intimacy series that i come back to a lot, because i’m proud of what they each accomplish in 500 words. especially because i often turn to those when im trying to express my own emotions lol. specifically, my favorites are picking fights, i don’t mind, swimming lessons, and practicing gratitude.

that was such a bullshit and cocky way to answer this lmfaooooo. but tbh i am my own biggest fan and that is by design — i write stuff so that i can reread it months later and have it be perfectly catered to my tastes. i love all my fics <3

Bonkers ass question but rn my answer would probably be Bravesnipe?? But I feel like there’s definitely ones I’m crazier abt out there. Maybe sonotaro…

Unfortunately probably the Miku exaid fic ;-; the concept is fun and cute but with some stuff I get an outline or somethin cookin and then it never sees the light of day again

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I’m pretty good at detailed descriptions and visuals. I’m much more an artist than a writer, so I’ve spoken before about how I view my stories like written descriptions of story boards, and I absolutely love to try and paint a picture with my words.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

In my actual writing I’m unsure and would love to hear any feedback, but for me it’s actually just GETTINg myself to write. It takes a lot of mental energy to start the task and I can never really make myself do it, it’s only when I’m in a rare and intense mood for writing somethin that I’ve got a REALLY solid idea on. That’s mostly why I’ve got so few fics. I have more ideas, but it’s difficult to get myself to a point with any of them where I’ll actually write any of it out lol

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Personally I think it’s neat when other people do it, but unless it’s French I probably never will. Even then I’d be so nervous about getting it wrong I’d probably find some kinda work around

19. First fandom you wrote for?

On AO3 it’s King Ohger, but in reality…. Oh boy. Warriors fanfic abt my sonas when I was like 10? Outside of OCs my first canon-aligned fanfic was probably one of the my little pony ones on wattpad. I did mostly original character stuff when I wrote frequently as a tween so I guess I didn’t start with fanfic until like a year or two ago.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I only have a few so I’m proud of them all for different reasons, but I think Sento’s Wandering Mind is one that I’m particularly fond of even tho it didn’t do as well as the others. It’s conceptually something I’ve been trying to put into words for a long time, and it was my first foray into writing anything REMOTELY sexual, which was a huge jump for me that I’m very proud of as a person who previously struggled a lot more with “catholic shame” if I had to put a word to it. It’s kinda a heavy read and isn’t perfect, but the fact that it’s out in the world is important to me and I’m happy with it. Hope you all enjoy!!

6. Okay but the lack of reaction? Sloane is the only one that reacts accordingly when Luther died and she'd only known him for a few days. His siblings knew him for years 😭😭 I wish they'd be more sad tbh

7. Can everyone just listen to Five for a second for the first time in their goddamn life? He suspected Allison and Reginald and guess what, he's RIGHT.

8. Luther and Klaus in the afterlife are actually fluffy for some reason.

9. It's SO NOT FAIR that Allison got everything she wanted by sacrificing them and they lost their power cause of her 😭😭

10. I love how smart Five is like — dude piece together the puzzle about the sigil — get his arm cut off — and immediately go back to the mission. Like the commitment ✨

11. At the end of the episode, when they all separated, I kinda wish that Five would stay with Viktor since I really like their bond season 1. But at the same time I understand that he's pissed or at least frustrated at Viktor (I am too, actually) because he could've stopped Allison but decided not to. Viktor, I told you to stop trusting Allison, at this point she's gone 😭😭😭😭 so yeah, I get Five and the others too.

12. I really hope they got their powers back at season 4

13. Sloane is really a badass. Like when she single handedly stopped the last Samurai I was like... Wow. I think her power is really cool and she's quite powerful too. It helps that she has a nice personality because Sparrow!Ben really gets on my nerves. I hope she's in season 4.

1- first things first: getting to read v’s pov at this specific moment its everything we could ever want, just like you posted after last month’s ch in your dash abt how everything changes only for vil now that she knows the role she played/plays in eve’s life is much showed in this ch bc i felt it was complete. its like there was some missing piece lost out there and with vil’s mind being displayed the whole puzzle was beginning to take shape. obvsl bc you’re the writer this makes sense, but now your post almost seems as a premonition to ch 16 bc it fulfills it’s promise. 

2- how much she can restrain herself on showing no sights that something shifted whilst all of this drops on her lap, not to mention the other add-ins given by clueless eve and eve’s presence herself.

3- the final confirmation through her pov that shes the mordale/the one who shot eve

4- realising Eve's the one who stabbed her!!!

5- damn if Vil’s not playing w fire by stretching purposefully in Eve’s sight

6- with Vil’s pov now you can see how much they’re the same. vil questions herself just the same way eve does.

7- its awkwardly comforting knowing now how vil’s mind operates and how many questions and doubts i had were cleared or/and confirmed just by giving the girl the mic.

8- im still confused abt vil’s blood tainted with eve’s to be such a top secret for eve. im just as curious as vil. gonna keep ma thoughts to myself

10- i find it really interesting how you set oksana in the story as someone completely different from villanelle, but it’s awaken when certain scenarios comes to light. it gives so much complexity and depth to the character.

12- well i dont blame at all julia for being enamored by vil enough to ask her on a dinner date, just like i dont blame eve for being insufferably jealous 

13- its so delicious to read the possessiveness innuendos. “Because I want her here.” “Because you want me.” “My consultant.””Yours” “Mine”

14- pleeeeeeeeeease vil begging for praise from eve on her first documented kill. god i love this.

15- vil seemed really thoughtful and touched by the russian food and the chef, it was truly genuine of her, i didnt feel like she faked it. sharing the candies w eve regardless of her on-face jealousy and cunty behavior looked so personal, it was like she was sharing whatever kind of life oksana had as a child in the shape of a candy.

16- its quite visible when strucks in eve that she was being rude enough to have vil teach her how to “sorry” sign.

17- is the grind an orphan’s season 2 the dialogue you added last minute? please i cant with these two actually discussing cannibalism

18- vil’s wondering abt making all of eve’s meals and leftovers!!! couldve been so gentle if it wasnt for the

sunday - monday

single is out now, wow.

my mom texted me a bit ago, just because, which is nice. in other news i finally put out the single i've been sitting on/trying to get right, and i got it right today, by adding a tiny bit to the left channel, and remixing the b side, which was very easy, now that i'm used to that process. like i said in the main post, the cover art had to be messed w/ to get it right for various platforms, the png was too big and all that stuff. when i make the next cover it needs to be at 3000x3000, which bites kind of, i like how much you can do w/ 5000x5000.

anyway, here is the image as it is as a jpg (actually png):

and there is the song, is it even possible to link to playlists on tumblr? also i can't even put anything abt this on instagram, how weird and annoying.

okay i got the insta thing to work (they too cannot handle the 5kx5k image and instead wanted it to be 50% the size (but they would not tell me that!!)). i wonder what i'm gonna do tomorrow, with music or cooking or anything really. i wanted to get this out because i want people to hear this if they come to me from that interview i did (lol), so they get a better idea of where i'm at musically i guess. this isn't really super representative of the whole record still though, but i like that. it's different angles on roughly the same kind of sound(s)/idea(s). i really like the ugly feedback stuff i added today.

all the weird hiccups i ran into today w/ cover art was really baffling, it's not like anyone is gonna notice this stuff really but i don't really like how it looks at 50% size because it makes some of the pixellations weird (i overuse dithering/indexed images in a weird way where they overlap and create new patterns (i hope)) this whole process fucking with the things i do, sort of. i don't think it's absent entirely it's just different/more disordered. if i focus on 3k x 3k and a pretty precise colorspace (that i need to figure out) then i think i'll be good. what i'm thinking of is doing 2 different 16 color palettes for 2 different sides of the collage / different pieces. so certain things can pop, i guess. anyways i guess sometime soon i should assemble the things i want to use for the cover art, and create at least the one thing i am certain on wanting for it (pink and black bull's eye thingy).

also i was able to get the image on sc to just be the jpg of the real cover, which is kind of crazy to me, but whatever.

regarding my life as i live it, nothing really happened, my gf dyed her hair blonde, which is funny, it's already blonde. she's been doing this a while but it makes me wonder, i guess, about how she likes it more blonde, more than natural. it looks good on her, it's just funny how i thought it was pretty bright normally, but apparently not bright enough, i wonder if it corresponds to how she imagines herself, i remember the first time, it was very crazy to her, it felt/looked perfect on her, it was sort of like she was meant to be that cartoonishly blonde, in like a 1970s anime kind of way.

and now i am just sat here eating pretzels to stave of cravings for sweets (trying to keep my mouth occupied i guess (i do that a lot)).

anyway i am tired, i ought to just turn in soon, soon:

like in my baby sister hcs, you’re still the most important thing to him period

the two of you got picked up by dazai and kunikida when he was 18 (obviously) and when you were 12

for a 12 year old, you were a bit small bc of malnourishment (which makes atsushi feel so bad) so both dazai and kunikida thought you were a bit younger than you actually were

they assumed you were about 9-10ish

you and atsushi both share a favorite food !! chazuke :)

so when kunikida treated the two of you, he made sure you got more bowls bc like i mentioned above, he feels really bad that you were malnourished and under weight

(don’t bring this up but kunikida felt bad too hehe)

when dazai went with your brother to the warehouse, you were with kunikida

imagine the surprise of the other ada members when kunikida came in with a little girl dressed in rags that popped out from behind him

kenji was the one who vocalized his thoughts 

“kunikida-san you have a daughter?! wow! i didn’t know that! :D”

when you found out your brother was a tiger, you were a bit concerned but you were actually kind of excited

you were even more excited when you found out the two of you were going to be taken in by the agency

and besides!

naomi does the same thing with atsushi so if you ever bump into them, you go out and eat together :)

besides atsushi, the next one in line who spoils you the most would be junichiro (and yosano & kunikida both coming in at a close third)

he honestly can’t help it; you remind him of how naomi was when she was younger

atsushi is genuinely confused and sort of concerned that no one is freaking out with him

yosano waves her hand saying smth like that she’d take care of it and junichiro pulls atsushi to the side to talk to him

fast forward like half and hour and dazai and ranpo are cackling on the looks of both of your faces

honestly not sure who’s more traumatized, you or your brother

I do expect Du-shik's past to be complicated, but I don't like this type of 'complicated' that only pushed him right into the corner and instead making him more miserable because not only Hye-jin hasn't completely understand what was going on with her boyfriend to even try overcoming this with him, now you're telling me we have a freaking 3-years-long incident unfinished because apparently Do-ha's father VERY SUDDENLY is involved with Du-shik's past and that ending?Can we just cut Du-shik some slack WHY IS THE WRITER HELL-BENT ON HURTING HIM FURTHER LIKE THIS INSTEAD OF GIVING HIM TIME TO HEAL??????????????????

I'm also not liking how Do-ha's suddenly pushed into the centre out of nowhere. This isn't it. He's not even an important character before this episode, and now that ending?????

Do I hate the plot twist?No. But if you want to do it, do it EARLIER. Lay out the backstory gradually instead of leaving everything to Kim Seon-ho's masterful microexpression for 12 episodes long and then suddenly dumping pieces of it on episode 13 & 14, and now even had the guts to have it continued to the finale week. This is just...way too much. I'm beyond speechless how a character like Du-shik still hasn't got his backstory told when it's one of the most important focus on the show. The show's supposed to reveal it slowly and let him take time to heal but how the fuck will he do that when his past isn't even solved at the moment???????????Are you freaking serious of not giving this character a break from his constant fear & trauma for what will be 15 episodes long and save the last episode to show him recovering right away without a proper process to it?Why the hell they even show him going to therapist then????Is it only there to serve as a sign that he's not okay????Because I want the show to take Du-shik's arc seriously for once, and not just use it as a some potential tearjearking subplot. Call this a healing show all you want, but I'm growingly frustrated by how the show's straight up refusing to take care of its main character's arc and instead dragging the hell out of it like this while being busy trying to woven all the supporting characters' story when it's the main lead who needs to borrow the spotlight to explain themselves the most at the moment. Do I not care about the rest of characters?I FUCKING CARE ABT THEM (how incredibly ironic that I thought the previous episode did such a good job constructing the side characters' story) BUT PLEASE FINISH DU-SHIK'S ARC FIRST BEFORE SHIFTING THE FOCUS ON THEM. I can't believe we have 80 minutes to talk about Du-shik's trauma and how the past got to be revealed and yet not even half is spent on that. And now they want to bring this into episode 15?

Why are being like this, show?I mean I knew I had unrealistic expectation for hoping homcha to be different compared to those formulaic romcoms in terms of resolving the conflict, and it hurts to see it failing them for the first time since I first watched this show. I've never been this disappointed, truly.

And I don't like seeing how not even Hye-jin, after witnessing Du-shik in his most fragile state, didn't even bother to give him a hug for once. The man's obviously hurting, but it pains me that instead of giving him place to lean on, they kept talking about taking a break, or how she originally doesn't have patience but is willing to wait for him. Others may have been calling this a perfect depiction of 'healthy' relationship, and while I love how both of them are so open whenever they're talking to each other, sometimes not every single thing has to be spoken, and simply being there to support him is more than enough. Just hug the guy for once, he looked so anxious throughout this episode, even when they were talking and I'm sad that no one tries to come closer to finally support him without asking anything and stop being a mere bystander.

Does that mean that I don't see Hye-jin being hurt by this too?No. But at the moment...even when she has someone to lean on after the first scene through Hwa-jeong, Du-shik's still left alone feeling anxious & sorry for how his trauma's preventing him to be happy with Hye-jin. And seeing the glimpse of the preview...isn't it sad that we've been with him for 14 episodes and not even someone he loves at the moment could offer him some assurance that it's going to be fine. Because well, it's not. And that just makes things tons much worse than it already is.

Whatever's going to happen, let it happen. I just realized that the more I have expectation for this show for this week particularly, the more I feel let down by it. It's sad that I will not get to see the whole process of Du-shik's properly recovering from his trauma, but at least I'll know the complete story next week and stop feeling like my heart would break every moment he's shown on the screen. I'm not even expecting the romance now. The tone shift of their relationship between last week and now is way too off. I'm all in for a mature relationship, but at the very least, I was hoping Hye-jin to be more understanding and just stay with him no matter how hard it is. But I'm perfectly aware that these two are just different in terms of personality & mindset. Hye-jin wasn't someone that could offer a thing when she doesn't know where she stands on their relationship, and I'm expecting too much of her for being the so-called 'bamboo forest' for Du-shik just like what Hwa-jeong said, when she's still clueless about the future of both of them from now on. But still can someone just...I don't know...hug Du-shik for once?I'm feeling absolutely weirded out at how I spent a major part of today tearing up thinking about him because every single bit about this character just hit way too close to home and it was just so heartbreaking and yet relatable for me😭😭😭😭

I'm so mad (well now got to cool down quite a bit after writing all of these🙂👍) that I just had to write this down. I don't know if y'all understand my perspective for this episode, but just this is merely a personal opinion of mine. And fyi, I'm a person who had just said in my previous post that this show has been a constant joy for the past few weeks that I nearly feel like I'm living for it sometimes lol. 1. what is the first song you remember hearing? probably hey good lookin’ by buckwheat zydeco because my dad loves him and my mom would sing it a lot. we have a home video of me dancing to buckwheat zydeco from when i’ve just barely started walking.

2. what is the first band you got into? the beatles ofc.......i feel like i’ve talked a lot on this blog abt my (former) beatles obsession so i shan’t extrapolate any further but if u know u know.

3. do you collect any physical music? yes i have a decent vinyl collection which i frankly don’t listen to as much as i should. i used to have a lot of CDs because my car in high school was too old to have an aux cord so i had to buy albums or burn mix CDs in order to listen to music. one of my friends who has a car has all my old CDs now so it’s fun to listen to them when i drive around with him.

4. what is your favourite piece of music memorabilia? my blur fanzines probably hehe, or my old melody maker magazines. OR my neutral milk hotel concert shirt from 2014 (!) because it is the best quality shirt i’ve ever gotten from a show. 

5. what's your favourite concert you've ever been to? the aforementioned nmh show lol...or sufjan. every belle & sebastian concert is my favorite concert. lorde was also so special and i'm particularly glad now that i saw her when i did. 

6. if you could see one artist who is no longer alive in concert, who would it be? nina simone!!! what i wouldn’t fucking give. 

7. have you met any musicians? yes i met john darnielle of mountain goats fame after a show when i was sixteen. i’m sure i’ve told this story here before but i was so anxious because i knew whatever i said to him wouldn’t be enough to convey how much i love his music. he signed my phone case. my friend only had a movie ticket in his wallet in terms of things to autograph which JD thought was funny and he signed his name as ‘arnold schwarzenegger’ lmfao. i also said hello to carrie brownstein outside of a bathroom in a texas airport once. 

8. what is your go to album when you're feeling happy? hm i don’t know if there’s a specific album i listen to when i'm happy! there are plenty of albums i listen to when i'm sad though lol. 

9. what is one music documentary you love? stop making sense if it counts!!!!!! or monterey pop. 

10. do you prefer listening to playlists or albums? playlists

11. do you prefer to listen to albums in order or on shuffle? usually shuffle i think which i realize is controversial!!! i tend to listen to albums that i initially listened to primarily on CD or vinyl in their proper order (beyoncé’s lemonade, puberty 2, yeezus, anything by the beatles lol) but in general i don’t really care.

AN: so this is incomplete and very…needs revisions to the timeline to incorporate some things I added later! It’s the original universe that Mira’s from! I edited it like Slightly to just change Ross’s name to Ross (if u see Max anywhere that’s his old one I just felt like changing it so that’s just him but different. Anyway) Everything's under the readmore tab, cheers!

The Library Fairy:

Basic Plot (Chrono, comic starts from human perspective abt the ‘legend of the library fairy’ ig maybe. Nothing here is permanent cept the characterization)

Part A

1- Mira is borrower currently chillin in a college library

2- She lives off of the cafe on the second floor nd reads lots and lots of stuff about everything when the upper floors close (lower floor open 24/7 but upper floors r vacant p much after 12:00 AM)

3- she starts getting increasingly curious about human stuff cos she’s literate nd books r pry neat

4- it starts one night when she spots an unattended notebook and a half eaten blueberry muffin, nd it’s 12:30 so nobody’s coming back in atm (it’s the 80s so no laptops for the plebians quite yet)

5- so she goes ‘welp’ nd takes part of the muffin, then sees the work on the page and goes ‘hmmmm this is incorrect’ so she helps our and leaves notes here n there to point the kid in the right direction and puts down some book refs for further study bcos at this point she’s been there for 2 years and she knows where most things are

6- she stays behind to see if the human comes back for it, hidden in a hidey hole near the desk

7- human comes in, sees notebook, practically melts w relief nd stuffs it in his bag

8- next day human comes back nd leaves nother notebook and a cookie, along w a hidden camera

9- Mira goes ‘o boy, this a trap, innit’

10- Mira then decides ‘eh whatever I haven’t had contact w anyone in years now so I might as well’

11- she steals the camera film nd leaves a lil scrap of paper saying ‘nice try ;)’ on it

12- student comes back, sees paper, goes ‘dammit’, then leaves note addressed to the ‘library fairy’ and another cookie, as well as more of their work for her to help with

13- bout a decade goes by and now the “Library Fairy” is an urban myth, it’s currently 2003 so she’s also wound up on the school’s unofficial Wikipedia page under ‘local cryptids’

14- most library employees know of her but they don’t go looking out of fear stemming from superstitions bout her, somehow the legend grew from ‘can’t be photographed’ to ‘a student once saw her and died that day’

15- there’s now a small shrine devoted to her where ppl bring offerings hoping to get good grades in return, sometimes they will leave papers for her to proofread nd stuff

16- new prof (named Alexei) finds online article thinks he Knows What’s Up bcos he had a borrower friend as a kid, but they left when borrower’s fam found out about them knowing each other

17- he leaves note wedged in one of her secret entrances behind outlet, asking if she can meet w him at some point

18- Mira, already In it, goes ‘Okay. Alright. This has gone on for long enough. Time to go and never return’ but ofc she’s curious as all hell and like she decides she will at least honor the guy’s request for a convo b4 she goes, but on her terms and w/o speaking face 2 face

19- they Talk in the library after hours, bcos he paid off the janitor to let him stay after hours nd most of the student employees recognize him as a prof nd leave him alone

20- they talk again for every subsequent night

21- she uhhhh finally decides to reveal herself nd prays that her hunch was right nd he won’t try to grab her or anything

22- he doesn’t but she’s nervous so she winds up gettin caught in her own climbing rope like idiot, is now dangling from ceiling in tangled mess

23- he stifles chuckle nd she says smthn sarcastic

24- he moves closer and offers to untangle her

25- she’s like ‘please’

26- so he do, but her grip on the rope slips nd he has to catch her

26- so now she’s in his hand and he just sets her down and now he’s a bumbling embarrassed mess bcos he said he wasn’t going to hold her and he just did and o dear pls forgib him

28- nd she’s like ‘dude u just saved my life it’s fine ur fine chill’

29- internally she’s going HOLY FUCK AAAAAAA but externally, her human’s already worked up enough as it is so she’s gotta b the level headed one

29.5- after a while they both kinda get used to each other more, he gets tenure, they celebrate, some more stuff happens, Aleksei got married (not to Mira, Mira hasn’t actually rly thought about being in a relationship w anyone cos she’s laser focused on gaining as much knowledge as possible)

30- eventually Alexei’s like ‘hey so I’m dean of faculty for the biotech branch now uhhhh would u like actual job teaching students? Cos, uh, you can do it remotely thru online lectures n stuff, no in person interaction, and I uh was just kinda wondering—‘

31- she’s like ‘yes. Yes!!! LET ME HELP PEOPLE OFFICIALLY KINDA’

32- so now she’s a professor, and has revealed her Secret a few times here n there to a number of the faculty, nd she has recorded her own findings in a personal journal

33- ‘humans will treat u like a human if they think ur human first. The kids call it ‘catfishing’’

34- enter Ross, an mall goth who accidentally tripped headfirst into a premed program

35- Mira’s favorite field of study is bio so naturally she’s his prof for a majority of his classes

36- being the good boy that he is, he now knows Mira’s secret. There is an Entire Chapter on him finding out and legit just continuing their conversation as if everything was normal bcos he thought that was how he was supposed to handle the situation

37- then she says ‘u can ask questions, u know’ he’s like OH THANK FUCK CAUSE I HAVE SEVEN HUNDRED OF THOSE

38- and now he kinda knows what to look for in terms of ‘do borrowers live here check yes or no’

39-in his apartment, the answer is yes and he mistakenly kinda stumbles upon the mom one night when he wakes up in the middle of the night for Snack and opts to pretend like its not happening. Unfortunately the thing she was trying 2 borrow (piece of crumb cake for Son Boy’s birthday) is the thing he wants 2 eat so he’s like “uh. ‘Scuse me, ma’am.” and he peels back the saran wrap on the other side of the plate, takes piece, nd then leaves some there for her

40-so now the woman is like ‘welp guess it time 2 Leave’

44- he up and leaves work, thankfully his apartment is above the shop so he jumps up the fire escape w the child and

45- he make tourniquet

Q- After a month or so, then they decide to leave bcos they’re like “look we get that ur son is ur son and he only has one arm and in our profession that is kind of a death sentence but we can’t have our kid getting used to dealing w humans who know about our existence” so they go and leave on a kind of sour note bcos Ellie can do anything he wants to do just as well as any other borrower Thank You Very Much and Ross is ready to fite anyone who thinks otherwise

R- Elliot starts trying 2 b more independent, basically from now on he’s like ‘I can do everything my Damn Self Thanks’

S- but uh he does it to a point where he’s going out of the way to endanger himself

T- so they get into a fite about it and ross Yells and Elliot is like ‘kthxbye’

U- and the boi just. Fuckin bolts. Runs Away. Ross is a Mess, he starts smoking again (he quit cold turkey the day he took Elliot in) to curb the depression, he’s jus. Not doin good, worried that his son is dead and the last time they talked it’d ended badly

V- FREEDOM!!!1! Except Ellie doesn’t kno how to take care of himself so it’s a rough month or so and then he runs into some other borrowers livin in their own town in the wild ig, chillin, being hella independent, and he’s like “uh yes ofc I will join u, I was w my dad for a while but.........” he neither confirms nor denies that his dad’s dead but everyone kinda just assumes.

W-anyway a year goes by and then the borrower group gets hit hard w some kind of sickness ig. Elliot gets it too he’s basically incapacitated n drifting in and out of lucidity. So. They contact the weird crazy doctor lady who hangs around humans, a.k.a. Mira, and she’s like “oh. fuck. I know this kid.” bcos she does, u kno, and she jus treats em all for their ailment and shows them how to make antibiotic poultice thing in case smthn like it happens again. Mold. Penicillin is basically what it is

X-she and Elliot hav a Chat (Mira basically yells at him a lot) once he’s fixed up and he decides he’s gonna visit his dad but he makes it very clear that he is a Grown Up (he’s not, he’s literally sixteen), and he is living on his own now

Y- he agrees to stay for a week tho since he misses his home a lot tbh and Ross is just. Over the fucking moon to know he’s ALIVE, he’s not gonna fuck up their relationship by insisting that he stay. Or like, by keeping him ofc he would never

Z- unfortunately the borrower community put two and two together and figured out his dad’s human so they have his stuff packed up when he gets back w mira, who’s ready to go the fuck off on them

Have been thinking A Lot abt hunger games au + hawks thanks to you

What if he was raised in district 13 in the early days before they had a lot of ppl, so they decided they needed someone close to the capitol. They train him to win the hunger games and send him to some random district to enter and be a spy. It’s perfect, since his father’s a murderer he shouldn’t have qualms over killing people, and also he’s in their debt for getting him away from his father.

He’s not the youngest to ever win, but the only person to do it without killing someone, and he’s the youngest of the mentors at the age of 15, mentoring bc district 13 needs him in the capitol. He makes it out of the hunger games without killing anyone but then district 13 uses him as an assassin anyway :/ and ofc the capitol doesn’t leave him alone even though he’s still a teenager

I honestly think this is so interesting b/c you’ve kinda cast District 13 as the Commission whereas I did the opposite? I love the idea of them holding his parentage over this head, like “You shouldn’t care b/c of your father.” Does he have his quirk? It seems like wings would make it a lot easier for him to sneak into the Districts but idk. How long was he there before he got pulled for the Games? Seems super interesting to figure out how he like,,, got away with all that.

Also Hawks mentoring ppl much older than him has me LMFAO.

I love that he wins the Games without killing but gets used as an assassin :’( This is so much fun!!!!

So I actually have my version of a HG au outlined pretty well, so I’ll put pieces of my thoughts on it here just to reciprocate the sharing lmao.

So, to make it work the way I wanted to, I fucked around with the worldbuilding and the Games A LOT.

I basically have the Commission as a lighter version of the Capitol, and the PLF+ AFO as a darker version of District 13 (after all, Detnerat is venturing into the hero support industry in canon while District 13 was the weapons district).

I changed the Games big time: So, essentially, instead of the Games being a way for the Capitol to flex their power on the Districts, the Games are a more brutal hero licensing exam.

One hero tribute volunteers from each district (and yes, they always volunteer b/c who doesn’t want to be a hero?) and the other 12 tributes are villains captured by licensed heroes. The Games continue until all tributes on one “side” are killed. If the villains win, their crimes are pardoned and they are "allowed” to leave the Districts. If the heroes win, all surviving tributes become full-fledged heroes and their Districts win extra rations for the year.

Hero tributes can volunteer between 12-18, while villains can be any age. Most hero tributes wait until they’re 16-18 to volunteer, but Hawks is actually an exception who volunteered and won at 12 b/c of Reasons :) Hero hopefuls from any district are actually trained for part of every year in the Capitol to help balance the fact that the villains tend to be so much older.

Hawks is from District 12 but he moved to the Capitol/Commission right after his father was captured when he was v young. They train him to enter the Games when he’s old enough, and when he’s in his twenties, they task him with infiltrating District 13/PLF to take them down before they storm the Districts.

Hawks is the youngest to win the Games, but All Might is the fastest and the only one to win with every hero tribute alive and unharmed. Endeavor enters to beat his record, but he doesn’t manage. So he has children specifically to enter them into the Games to beat him. During Shouto’s year, Midoriya also enters and technically jumpstarts the revolution omg I’m gonna stop now.

ANYWAY, I think that’s a fairly big chunk of the basic set-up I have.

Weird thing

So I turn 18 on Friday the 13th of this year (2019) (it is currently 10:48pm 9/11/19)and I thought it would be interesting to look back at what my first posts were and I think I was like 12 or 13 when I first got tumblr (whoops I know I lied abt my age then I’m sorry tumblr) but like looking through my old posts was such an odd time capsule esque experience and the girl I was then is probably so happy about the woman I have become because I look back and I see how sad and lonely and just all around miserable but there would be things like music that cheered me up or Bryan stars interviews would make me happy when I was 12 and before he was exposed for being a human piece of garbage. And like I know no ones gonna see this but I felt like I needed to add another thing to my time capsule. Thanks guys

1. how did you get into graphics / gif making?

i was an early ‘the vamps’ and ‘5sos’ fan and because of that, i used to make lil graphic type things?? i guess?? like i tried to make stuff like the ones i saw online omg… and mine were soooo bad but it was like so fun and i used to use this online editor and it was trash but like i would have so much fun… (and that was back when i was in grade 7-ish..? so i would’ve been like jfjfiwaoefo 12/13) and then i just kept doing it;; eventually in grade 10 i took a graphic design course and i got a hold of photoshop and it blew my mind and from there i just kept kinda… doing it?? 

and with gifs omg… ok i swore i would never make gifs cause it looks SO complicated like bitch ill kill u what do u mean layers to frames wtf !!!!!!!!!!!! and then when i was in my first year of uni in around june i was like… omg i wanna try again… cause i’d tried it before and my ps just crashed… so i was like let me give this another go.. and i did… and it worked.. and my mind was like blown omg… i was in AWE… omg i just realized its been a whole year since i learned how to gif stop ill die

2. do you do something creative/related “irl” as well?

well!! i just got into college for graphic deisgn hehe;; so i’m hoping that that’ll be my future :’) 

3. who/what inspires your graphics / gifs?

hm, well!! whenever i see really great pieces of gfx or even in real life when i see a magazine piece or a billboard that just looks stunning i feel inspired!! and i’m like eugh i wanna try making smth like that ;; also music and movies and games inspire me sometimes?? but if i was to say who!! then it’d probably be all my amazing content creating mutuals!!! their work is always wowing!! i always tag ppls gfx with ‘gfx inspo’ bc im genuine :0 when i see it ;; ___ ;; like how is everyone so creative and talented;; 

4. what do you enjoy about making graphics / gifs?

oh wow, mm… it allows me to be creative? and put to use skills that i think aren’t always appreciated? like my p*rents never take me doing graphic design seriously;; but then recently my mom wanted me to make a lil label for her for a friend’s garden and i did and she was like !!!!!! so happy abt it i was like TT TT cause both my parents were finally like ok i get it sorta;; i really like that i’m able to make smth kinda outta nothing?? like art is really interesting bc you get to let your thoughts and experiences affect the outcome of your work so?? like.. i like that everyone has a different style?? 

and for gifs;; i really enjoy that its such a structured task like… its very.. orderly and routine based?? like i know what i’m doing everytime?? and the places where i get to change it up are like the colourings and the style of set i make and that makes it fun and creative too;; 

5. what do you dislike most about making graphics / gifs?

mm the creativity block;; i feel like sometimes i cannot think of ANYTHING to make and those days i feel kinda useless as a cc…… it sucks but foiawnefiawn eventually i’ll figure smth out if i move things around enough fajwefowaeo 

and giffing omg…… idk… probably the colouring process…… but thats majorly because my laptop’s screen displays colours kinda whack from how they actually look and so i have to do 2x the work to make sure it looks good and smdays its like idc anymore just post the set and pull the trigger 

20. your favourite fandom(s) to make graphics / gifs for?

for gfx it’s definitely stray kids!!! they have some of the most fun lyrics to work with and their concepts always always inspire me like crazy!!! 

for gifs its the tmg fandom! everyone in that fandom is suuuper nice and supportive and like;; even if i’m not always making gifs i dont feel like i’m falling behind or ? like ppl will be mad or smth ? like its a safe small community and bc of that it feels so good ;;; 

21. how much time do you spend on a single graphic / gif?

very dependent! gfx can take from like an hour to like a week+?? it just depends on how intense and intricate it is ig;; 

gifs are shorter;; probably take me a few hours?? the longest a set has taken me is maybe like 6 hours but that’s bc i was being slow about it and trying to find all the necessary parts! but on average itll take abt half an hour to maybe two for one set

21. what is your biggest improvement since you started making graphics and or gifs?

ogoaiweniogaw stop this is so funny.. i wanna go find my old wattpad covers so you can all cringe with me but… mm, with gfx i guess i learned what my Aesthetic™ was and what i really liked and like fjjfaiosdksfd i learned how to use photoshop which is a big thing lmaoooo……… and with gifs!! definitely my quality (shout out to vapoursynth) and my colouring :’) 

23. what is your biggest improvement in the past month?

hm… time management jfaiweoofiaw i’ve definitely gotten wayyy faster at giffing and i really do not take as much time anymore;; which gives me some peace of mind lmao 

24. what is something that you’re wanting to learn right now?

illustrator! i’ve been fooling around with it a lot recently;; and even one of the pieces i submitted in my portfolio was smth i made on illustrator heh;; but theres a huge learning curve (like btich what is the pen tool ill kill u) fnaoiefiownf so i wanna get lots better with it ;; 

25. what would you like to see others learn how to do?

this is an interesting question;; mm i guess everyone is different?? so idk if i can answer this question cause i think everyone’s style requires them to learn in their own ways?? so idrk ;; i guess something to make certain people’s lives easier would be like LEARN KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS !!! that shit saaaves my life like idk man it cuts down on my time for sure;;

How strict is the delineation of creative control vis-a-vis characters/plays between the mods? (@pedanticlecturer)

We generally have the plays split up along lines of “what we know”— we have a list at the very beginning of the blog. Sometimes we’ll draw the others’ characters (mostly me drawing some of Star’s…) but even then the final say on characterization is up to the “main” mod for that play — mod aster

I think my favorite play overall is Macbeth, just because I like the vibes (and the fact that I too could kill Macbeth), the fact that you don’t say it’s name in theatres, and the fact that it’s a play I did a full read through and analysis of in class. uhhhh,, hmm. ive always had a soft spot for midsummer since i saw it with aster esp bc of how fun the costumes were. of the comedies it has the largest potential to be the most visually pleasing bc of the concept of fairies,,,and im gay and dramatic so i love that. id die if i got to costume design for midsummer,,,or be in it,,,yeah. fav character. hmm. probably mercutio?? i recently saw a version of romeo and juliet where mercutio was played by a woman and oh my god it was amazing!!! not to mention mercutio’s portrayal in baz luhrmann's INCREDIBLE version of r n j!!! Are there any elements/characters of the plays you're covering that you would have liked to work into this blog's plot, but couldn't due to the constraints of the setting or the synthetic nature of the blog? (@pedanticlecturer)

I did want to make The Tempest more of a central play, but it just didn’t translate well. Similarly, other supernatural elements like the witches in Macbeth. This isn’t so much a constraint mentioned, but my own time/energy means that I want to show the Macbeth backstory, in a specific format, but I can’t right now— mod aster

Is there a hierarchy of import when it comes to each play's individualized impact on shakespeare high's general arc? If so, what plays are crucial to the foundation of the story? Which ones did you do mostly for shits and giggles? (@pedanticlecturer)

This is phrased like an ACT question and i might not answer it right so sorry in advance but: mod aster and i only selected a few plays for each of us to do given we dont know all of shakespeare’s works, but we tend to put more emphasis on the the more well known. But it also comes down to 1. How much we have plotted out for each play and 2. What the followers ask about most. Our two most popular are hamlet and macbeth bc people are familiar w those but around march caesar always becomes relevant again. I didnt even have designs for some of the characters until someone asked about them. -- mod star

I would say the same as star— it generally comes down to what people ask about. I will say that the overall plot is sort of separated into “has happened” and “is happening”. Like, the human potion of Midsummer, Julius Caesar, and Macbeth are all in the “aftermath” portion, while Twelfth Night, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet, among others, are happening. We’re trying to incorporate as much as we can, and I don’t think any of them were really put in without some thought.— mod aster

I go to a theater school rn and so ive dealt w shakespeare (although not all of them) it also helps that i was in loves labours lost last year as moth and that i read hamlet and r n j. Theres also a theater in my state that always does One Big Shakespeare per season and they always do them super well!!! My love for shakespeare probably started w seeing midsummer at that theater w mod aster!!! So. Theater kid rights!! -- mod star

To be honest, I got back into Shakespeare Because of the blog. I’ve been friends with some people that got really Pretentious about Shakespeare, and it kinda put me off of it. I did have a book of abridged plays (the plays’ plots written out in prose, basically) that I read as a kid, which is what got me into not only the plots of a lot of the plays, but also the idea of having them illustrated. And, same as star, the theater in state does the One Big Shakespeare— and they tend to do some really cool things with the costumes, setting them in diff time periods. Uhh i started drawing when i was like idk 12 and i have the giant boxes of sketchbooks to prove it!!! I moved to digital art at abt 14-15 but mostly stayed traditional until this yr when i got a Neat New Tablet so some of my sketchbooks are sitting abandoned rip. My first shakespeare was either romeo and juliet or midsummer nights dream and i love both of them v much!!! Oh man. I started drawing when I was about 10, but it was Bad. I don’t think I got much into drawing again until I was about 14? Sometime around the end of middle school/beginning of high school. I would say I started getting into drawing as more than doodling/coloring edits sometime around 2015-16? I would draw on my iPad with my finger, then I got a tablet for my computer, and now I pretty much stick to my iPad with an Apple Pencil. My first Shakespeare play was….. uh…… probably Midsummer???? I have No idea. We would go to plays when I was little, so I honestly don’t remember if I saw others before. Met mod aster when i was like 4 and even tho we didnt live close we became like, best friends although the Best part didnt start until we were like 13-ish and eventually we talked like non stop (about anime and homestuck. Yknow. 13 year old kid things) and we didnt see each other a lot bc of Distance and now its even worse bc aster is in colleg.,e but we consider each other siblings regardless of family bc we’re adopted into our own respective families so that bled over into our friendship and it would feel weird calling him anything other than my brother now. It can depend on the piece? I was working on some (unrelated) oc prints that were song-focused, and for those I just listened to said song on loop. Sometimes I have playlists. Sometimes I’ll just be in a Mood and throw a song on loop. But a lot of time for the blog, I’ll listen to The Adventure Zone for the billionth time, because I have Too Much Attention. I’ve also, on request from Star, linked the most recent “loop song”.— mod aster

I tend to obsess over the same like 3 songs every few weeks so those get listened to on repeat but it also depends on the tone of what im drawing or who im drawing i might genre switch bc of that. If im drawing ophelia i stick to lana del rey and if im drawing hamlet its the neighborhood, horatio is sufjan stevens etc. i have categorized,. Most of the characters i draw into different songs/genres/energies of music but not like i ever follow that. Sometimes i just pull up a really long nonsense video and forget to draw. How did you end up deciding the rough timeline of events in canon? (@pedanticlecturer)

It’s mostly determined by like. How we choose per story? If that makes sense. Like, we just take story by story, and decide “is it happening, has it happened, and when?” And then we fit them together in relation to each other just by dint of. All existing at once. Like, I knew I wanted Macbeth to be in aftermath, because like, even though there’s no murder, the way I’ve translated it to the AU is still kinda heavy, and it’s something that I don’t know that I could do properly if it were happening right now. Also, it’s more interesting IMO to have them at different times. Tl;dr we wing it per story and slot them together— mod aster (mod star agrees I just can word better, in theory)

If you could tell the story of shakespeare high in a different format than an ask blog, would you? Obviously y'all are making very good use of the format, but would you want to write this as a animated series or like? a comic book? or is the form inseparable from the story? (@pedanticlecturer)

I kinda wanted to do a webcomic or maybe to plot develop through like, animatics but the element of surprise comes from the asks we get and really makes us think so the blog is a good start. We didnt think we’d get this far -- mod star

Pretty much what Star said— there are certain elements where it’d be neat to do as a comic or as an animatic. Like, the fantasy dream is like, an anthology webcomic of each story, where you can like, see other characters in the background and stuff. But to be honest, we develop a lot by what we’re asked— there was a post about developing worldbuilding by being asked questions and then pretending you’ve thought about the answer, and it’s not far off. Personally, it’s hard to just lay out a story, because I have a whole WORLD and what’s relevant? What are people interested in? It’s by getting questions that I can then focus in on an area to develop. And yeah, we Super didn’t think we’d get this far lmao — mod aster
