[Oneshot] How To Pacify A Sith

Author’s Notes

Alt title: Angy Sith (Pureblood) Survival Class 101 /jk

I wrote this one like a couple months ago and then totally forgot to post it anywhere outside of discord oopsie! So here, have this! I wanted to try out “present tense” writing for this piece cause it’s not a style I often use, but if there are mistakes esp. with the verbs/adverbs, this is why and I apologise and will correct any mistakes as they are pointed out to me! XD

Obligatory disclaimer that Rai is very highly emotional in the first place to start with, even before we take the whole Umbara thing into account, and she’s even MORE emotional/defensive when it comes to her partners. She doesn’t mean the things she’s saying right now, she’s reacting (knee-jerk style), out of anger and fear and that’s the entire point of this oneshot. She does care about Theron as a friend and she would absolutely not say these things about/to him if she was thinking straight. She is not thinking straight. That’s 👏 the 👏 point. 👏 Saarai’s reaction to the whole Umbara situation are not a word for word representation of my opinion of Theron Shan as a character and should not be treated as such. I like him (as a friend for my characters), but he messed up here and now he’s gotta deal with the consequences of his actions. I shouldn’t have to say that but to avoid any potential dust-ups with that side of the fandom, I am doing so (and will not be putting this in the theron tag out of courtesy for theron fans, I will be tagging as “theron critical” just to avoid potentially upsetting any mutuals/friends who I know like the character and might have that tag blocked so pls use your own discretion if you choose to go on and read this anyway! 🤗 ❤️), I cannot believe that I have to specify this for some of you people but in the interest of saving my time and sanity here it is in clear black & white for you 🙄

CW: Spoilers for the Crisis on Umbara flashpoint, violence/death threats towards a pretty popular character in the fandom, and swear words below the cut. Everyone's staring.

...the Empress' muscles are wound tight as coils, ready to strike at a moment's notice. Her sulfur-yellow eyes are glowing, and fixed on the blast door that Koth and Lady Occulus are currently standing in front of, blocking the way. He takes another step towards the Pureblood and fights every instinct that tells him to turn tail and run away as she bares her fangs and snarls like an enraged tuk'ata. "Saarai-"

"Koth. Move!" she booms, it's an order, not a request. He stands firm, hands out, palms up. "I said MOVE!" there's an unnatural, almost ethereal echo to her voice, and even a Force-blind individual like Koth can feel the sheer power radiating off her in waves. She's dangerously close to going over the edge, and if it had been two years ago, when they had first met, maybe he would be afraid that she would. But not this time. He knows Saarai, he can get through to her. Lady Occulus does not share the pilot's optimism.

"Vortena." the Darth's voice is sharp-edged between worry and warning, and he knows she too is poised to lunge across the small gap separating them, to pull him back and take his place instead...because if anyone currently standing in that hallway has the physical strength to withstand the full brunt of a rampaging adult Pureblood hitting them with all the force of a Star Destroyer, it's Saarai's twin sister.

Koth freezes, turns his head to glance at the other Sith out of the corner of his eye and insists, firm but gentle. "I've got this." Occulus grunts and eyes him with trepidation, but doesn't move an inch....for now.

"I know you're mad." Okay, that's an understatement; she's raging, exuding enough "Pissed Off Homicidal Sith" energy that the whole damn corridor is crackling with it, with the Pureblood at the epicenter. His words earn him another deep, guttural growl: "I'm gonna gut that bastard!" "You're not. You said that about me last year on the Gravestone, and I'm still here." the pilot counters, taking another, bigger, stride forwards. Saarai's eyes zero in on him. Good. He's got her off the door, theoretically off Theron and onto him, and that's a start. Another step lands him right in front of the Empress, and when she stoops down closer to his height Koth chuckles internally. Even if Saarai thinks she's doing it to get in his face and be intimidating, she keeps making this so much easier for him.

Koth continues speaking slowly, using his words to distract Saarai from the movements his hands make at the same time. He carefully reaches up to cup her face in his palms, and ignores the panicked huff of breath from Occulus as the other Pureblood realises what he's trying to do, too.

Saarai won't hurt him. Koth knows that, and he wishes Occulus would acknowledge that because he knows that deep down she knows it too.

"Easy. Shhh-shhh, shh. It's me." He shushes her soothingly as the Empress flinches when his hands touch her skin, and for a moment he blinks, having forgotten just how hot it could get when she got into a state like this. Her spurs continue to rattle, but she doesn't rip herself from his grasp, or fling him away, though she does grind out through clenched teeth: "He hurt Lana-"

"I know, yeah." Koth croons in agreement. But they both knew their partner had survived far worse than a single blaster bolt to the stomach before. She'd be fine. Probably pissed to all hells at Theron too, but that was a problem for them to tackle together after Lana was allowed to leave the medbay. "And that's like the button, I know, honey...I know."

Someone shuffles nervously and Koth doesn't dare look back to find out who, but he has to pull her attention back to him before she gets distracted or this is going to go really wrong, really quick. "Hey, look at me. Don't look at them, Rai, look at me. Easy..." he exhales a quiet breath of relief as the glow emanating from her irises flickers, then starts to fade. "H-He could have killed her, killed Vano!"

"He didn't. He didn't. I'll take you to see her just now." Koth promises, and once he's sure she's calm enough not to bite his nose off, leans in to press his forehead to the Pureblood's. "I'm not exactly happy with the lunkhead, either. I'm gonna punch him in the nose for you, cause I can do it without rolling his head onto the floor." "Koth..." it's half a growl, this time, but the echo is dissipating, even if her face is still dour. He has to pay for this. "We'll deal with it. But you and I both know if you go in there and kill him now, you're gonna hate yourself for it later, love." the pilot whispers, finally lifting his head again as the Empress exhales a shuddering breath....

And keens in distress, deflating into his arms, and her rage with her. "That's it...easy, I've got you, I've got you..." "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." she keeps whimpering, over and over again.

The pilot drops with her, half staggering beneath her weight, but he refuses to let her go. He knows she needs him right now, and so he cradles her head against his chest as best he can in that position, running his fingers through her hair in a comforting motion. "I know. Its okay, Rai...I've gotcha. I'm right here, shhh shhh shhh~"

He hears everyone behind him breathe out, half in utter amazement and half in relief.

It’s over. He actually pulled it off.

"You. Are a madman." the Empress' twin grumbles at him as she approaches to help him support Saarai's weight more comfortably - damn, if this was going to be a regular thing he was so gonna have to work out more. "She could have killed you." The Zakuulan scoffs. If he didn't know better, he'd almost think it sounds like Occulus was trying to scold him. Had she been worried about him? "I told you. I've got this."

1 . What is the character’s go-to drink order?

I figure Aidrien as someone that doesn't really drink, though he wouldn't be opposed. Still I think he would default to ordering caf or tea, and failing that then water. Maybe with some fruit juice to mix it up if he's feeling particularly festive. If it is an occasion where he feels he will have something alcoholic, I would say maybe a lager or a cider.

For Matai, I don't know what the Star Wars equivalent of a Cape Codder is, but definitely a cocktail like that. If Matai existed on earth, he would absolutely be a vodka person and would love vodka based cocktails and would probably have more than one on a night out. Other than that, it would be a red wine for the Dark Lord of The Sith.

Given an offer to help the Jedi against a rising threat greater than both the Jedi and Sith, Anakin reluctantly accepts. He's left in Obi-Wan's custody, and the two have to move past their differences to work together. Except, more and more Anakin begins to question if being a Sith is what he truly wants.

Heartfelt Confessions: The Blood Awakens - Vader expected to lose the duel to Obi-Wan on Jabi'im, but he didn't quite expect Obi-Wan to jump and... bite him? Because apparently, his former master is now a vampire, and he has every intention of taking Vader with him as his new fledgling.

Interrupted Declaration of Love: This Ends Today - In which the Force gives a certain Jedi Master what he said he wanted, to see if he really liked it. OWK series AU; definitely not a fix it

Kidnapped: Nebulous - Being kidnapped by the Sith apprentice who killed Qui-Gon is the last thing Anakin expected to happen while on his first mission with his new Jedi master, Maul. Obi-Wan is... scary. And dark, which duh, he's a Sith. But Anakin is determined to escape him and find his way back to the Jedi, no matter the cost. It's never quite that easy.

Lying: What You Wanted To See - At the end of their duel on Mustafar, one moment Anakin had been certain Obi-Wan was able to leave him, but suddenly, he's acting like someone else entirely. Because apparently, he... time traveled, from after both their deaths. For Obi-Wan, the worst day of their lives was decades ago, but for Anakin it just happened, and it's not that easy to let go of it.

Pen Pal AU: Ben-Ekkreth-Chippie - Shortly after the formation of the Empire, Vader, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan all end up chatting on the holonet with each other, entirely unaware of their former identities. They didn't intend to become so close to each other, but it happens anyway. And then, their paths start leading back together again.

Pillow Fight: Attack of the Toxin - In one universe, Anakin has a twin sister, Aniya. In one universe, the twins are freed from slavery and taken to become Jedi. In one universe, Qui-Gon trains Aniya while Obi-Wan trains Anakin.

Rescue Mission: See the Moon - Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan are awakened one morning to a massive disturbance in the Force. They quickly discover the disturbance centers around Coruscant's moon, which suddenly appears to be not only alive, but it also has the ability to... possess people? And the only way to avoid that is to avoid looking at the moon at all, which becomes increasingly difficult.

Telepathy AU: My Own Way Home - Ten years after the Empire formed, Vader, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka start sharing dreams. They can find no way to stop it, but do they really want to? Especially not after Ahsoka realizes who Vader is after long thinking Anakin dead, Obi-Wan begins to accept that there may be more to Vader than the Sith he's become now, and Vader finally has the chance at being with his family again.

Set In A Different Time Period: The Land Which Bears Your Footprints - Found by Sidious, Rey is raised on Exegol as a Sith. While struggling with recurring dreams of her past life as Anakin, she's given her first mission - to infiltrate and destroy Luke's New Jedi Order.

Sleepy Confessions: Multiples - Obi-Wan in ROTS - Anakin and Obi-Wan have just landed aboard the Invisible Hand to rescue Chancellor Palpatine when suddenly, four other versions of Obi-Wan appear with them. One Obi-Wan is hard enough sometimes, but five? That is a whole other story. It doesn't help that they're not terribly fond of each other... or that the eldest are hiding things about the future.

Whump: Fading - After leaving Vader a second time, Obi-Wan is given, and takes, the chance to travel to the past to fix his mistakes. He hopes it will be easy. It's not. As the galaxy around him spirals out of control a second time, Obi-Wan captures a newly Fallen Darth Vader and runs away with him. Even if he can't save Anakin, at least he can stop Vader from terrorizing the galaxy again.

PT - Werewolf Anakin

Summary: Anakin’s birth is the result of Darth Plagueis' experiments over Life and Death. Except the experiment aim was not to make a “Chosen One”, but rather to create loyal bestial servants.

Era: Prequel Trilogy

Main tropes: Young Vader, Maul redemption, Shapeshifter

To be true, this is just an excuse to have some Feral!Anakin xd.

Snippet:

Vader galloped.

He could see from the corner of his eye Maul running in the opposite direction. Good.

The Jedi were not their Sith Master, but from what Vader had seen they weren’t much better. Maul and him may have been birthed to be slaves, but they would never have to bear chains again.

The Jedi on his tail reminded him he wasn't quite as safe as his bond-brother.

Vader accelerated his pace, to the point where his four paws barely touched the ground before propulsing him ahead. The wind brushed his fur as it sang in his ears. A song full of promises. A song of freedom.

Someone’s foreign Force presence surrounded him. Suddenly Vader’s paw didn’t touch the ground anymore, as he found himself suspended above man level in the air. A yelp escaped him at the abrupt stop. The Jedi's smell was everywhere, surrounding the weird levitation bubble he was trapped in. Instinctively, Vader’s tail curled between his legs. He growled at the approaching man.

“Hello there,” the man unflappably greeted.

Plot Description:

Anakin’s birth is the result of Darth Plagueis' experiments over Life and Death. Except the experiment aim was not to make a “Chosen One”, but rather to create loyal bestial servants. Long lived and powerful werewolves, mixing the Tuk'ata natural Force Sensitivity with various species sentience, humans giving the best compatibility results.

The werewolves were a prototype of sort of the republic clones. The project was abandoned after the instability and death of most subjects, the Kamino chosen instead of Hutts as main provider and humans chosen as species for clones. By then Shmi already birthed Anakin, and as such the Siths decided to raise him alongside Maul. He would be ´the dog of the Sith’ for Master and Apprentice to obey.

As a werewolf, Anakin ages slowly. His species is much more long lived than humans. He was born a few years earlier than canon, his growth slow to come. He does his best to protect Maul, and the feeling is reciproque. They grow as siblings under the same iron fist, and form a strong bond together.

At some point before or during the clone war, Anakin and Maul escape. Anakin gets caught by Jedi under his wolf form, who brings him home for study, giving enough of a distraction for Mail to get away. The Jedi soon realize that this strange feral being trusts no one; much less the Force Sensitive people. For all the first duration of Anakin’s stay in the Jedi Temple, he is trapped in a room. The Temple’s Wild Beast, they call him. He earned that title in blood, attacking anyone daring in fang range. Not a single time do they manage to coax him into his human form or to communicate, for all they can sense his sentience behind sturdy mental walls.

Anakin doesn’t mind the treatment he gets in his Tuk’ata shape. Everything is simpler as a beast. Missing Maul is easier too, although the Force bond between them keep them connected. Even punishments are easier to bear in that form, as he learnt under the Sith care. Not that Palpatine let him revert back much ever since the man killed Plagueis and ascended to Master of the Sith.

As such, the Jedi Temple now possesses a yellow-eyed, feral, snarling Anakin, forced to stay here until they know what to do with him or find him a safe place. They also possess a Zabrak dark sider trying to infiltrate the place. Keeping Anakin becomes even more important when, through Maul’s interference, they discover the Sith would like their beast back - giving Anakin a huge value as bait and more importantly, as someone in danger to protect.

Who will he meet there? Who will be the first ones to earn his trust?

Perhaps it will be Master Windu, surprised to have been trying to play fetch with the beast while on guarding dury. The man denies it but Deepa stands witness. Kit Fisto agrees as he heard Plo Koon give advice to Mace on how to best please canines. Or perhaps it will be one of the younglings who sneak past the guards to enjoy the Tuk’ata fluffy fur, a certain Togruta among them being the most successful.

One day, they remove the chains and let him wander freely in the Thousand Fountains Room. They find their guest a few hours later under a pile of younglings, giggling as they climb all over the imposant Tuk’ata. For all Anakin snarls and growls, his instinct would never let him hurt pups; not without explicit order to.

Plo Koon is probably the one that put him up to it. I can totally imagine him trying to play fetch with this new wild beast they brought back to the temple. Also younglings adore this big fluffy wolf and will definitely try to climb on him as soon as he is out of chains and allowed to stay in the thousand fountains room.

Anakin did his best to protect Maul, and actually went along with him surprisingly well. So this is probably going towards Maul redemption? He might get caught after infiltrating the Jedi Temple. Not that winning his trust will be any easier than winning Anakin’s.
