BONE SOUVENIRS
tw: flesh, cannibalism, blood and gore, horror themes, detached body parts, mentions of abuse, word ‘midget’ used
{finally happy to share my writing 👾 }
He held the severed finger in his fist loosely, the fingernail peaking through the side, the bluish skin contrasting against the pink wrinkles of his scarred palm. The blood had ceased to drip onto the man’s hand, but now it was edged with a drying red thickness, almost like old pizza sauce. The rest of the detached hand was in his backpack, along with the Paris souvenirs and the eyes. The rest of the tourist was unnecessary, and was left peacefully in a shallow hole in the boulders, though the smell would eventually lure something. But that mattered little now. He had to get home.
In a familiar rhythm, the man continued down the rock maze. Ripples and bumps on the rocks spread scratches across his old jacket, taken from a kind Russian tourist’s shoulders, which were taken as well with the jacket, thanks to the overly complicated buttons and his need of a torso for his creations. Today he needed just a pointer finger, a left hand, and a set of green eyes. He would begin to look for some long brown hair tomorrow, and preferably some nice toes – but clean feet were always hard to come by in these mountains.
The mist began to thicken, and the dirt track was beginning to flood under his feet. He could taste the smell of rot and rain, smell the bitter coolness of the rock, hear the wail of the wind high above. A storm was brewing, which meant he should hurry home, but also very beneficial for it would wash away the blood and his footprints. But as he continued walking the dirt track, the rain suddenly began to crash down in great sheets, piercing the left side of his face with its fast torrent of raindrops. Quickly, he moved flush against the rocky walls, its slight upward lean sheltering him due to his dwarfism – a trait that only benefited him in his recent ‘social engagements’.
Directly in front of him, looming up through the thick mist, was the rails of an abandoned rollercoaster and he moved quickly towards it, eager to get back to his dwelling. Running his crooked hands down its sun-bleached structure, he felt the roughness and dimples of the bone-like material. His finger traced the well-known path to the rope concealed in the mist, and pulled at it, wheeling forward a wooden carriage that slotted against the old ride’s surface. Though he did it daily, the task of pushing the carriage onto the rails was always difficult. But with his hunched back bulging, he eventually slid its stiff wheels onto the creaking sides, and climbed into the belly of the carriage. He shoved at the back leaver, and was moving slowly up the first arch. The man’s thoughts travelled to his and Mother’s dinner, wondering what the snares had caught. Tourist hair worked surprisingly well for catching animals, and he had a lot to spare since none of the audience members needed it, but sometimes if he didn’t put enough hair, it would just break and nothing would catch.
He reached the end of the ride, and once again concealed the carriage in the growing mist. Mother had already turned the house lights on, for the tent was aglow with warmth. The man often found that living in a now abandoned amusement park had its advantages, despite it rebirthing awful memories of his time performing there. To him it was too degrading for a performance, and he was treated more like a pet. The Hunchback Midget of the Circus, come see it dance in its cage!
The backpack had begun to weigh him down as he trudged through the squelching mud towards the hair traps, and happily found two rabbits, a snake, three fish, and surprisingly, a two headed mouse, which he would probably stuff and keep it as a gift for Mother. But it was a feast.
Once back at the old Big Top, he pulled aside the heavy curtain door, dropped down his heavy backpack, and reached inside for the hand and eyes.
“Mother, I brought you some new eyes.” The man called out, strolling into the sandy middle. Mother sat in her chair, arms dangling limply backwards and her neck only half attached to her slumped head. With care he lifted her chin, and plucked out her old rotting pair of eyes. That was the only problem with her, and with the audience, they kept rotting, which forced him to keep getting them new body parts, and not just killing tourists and taking their souvenirs as prizes. But he would do anything for Mother, despite what she had done to him that made him end up as a circus pet. He had destroyed the bad Mother, and rebuilt her into what he wanted, and she seemed to love him more for it. He was proud of this feat, not many men could remake the women they loved from collected parts into whatever way he wanted.
“I’m sorry your eyes rotted again Mother. But I got you some nice Paris souvenirs to cheer you up.” He pushed her mostly new eyes into her skull, quickly stitched her neck to keep her head on through the night, and patted her drooping grey cheek affectionately.
The crooked man straightened to his best ability and looked around at his audience. He still needed some more heads and spikes for the second row it seemed, but he was too weary to go to the backroom and gather them. He was content with it not being a full house tonight.
Instead he prepared a fire, and once that was complete, he began to prepare the catch, but Mother seemed very uneasy.
“I understand that you feel apprehensive with fire since I accidently burnt half of you last time I cooked, but I’m more careful now, and besides, we can’t keep eating our audience members. Its bad hospitality.” Mother seemed to calm down at his words, and so he pulled out the severed finger he saved in his jacket pocket and began to chew absentmindedly as he continued to prepare the meat.
“Oh and before I forget, do you think I should put those new souvenirs in that far left corner, near the half built Ringmaster?” He inquired to Mother, smiling.
Mother smiled back at him, and nodded.

TW transphobia & racism
Well, I pissed off fnaf fans cause I reminded them their creaor who still has final say on the franchise initially hired the transphobic artists who worked on the games and have been banned from the subreddit. Most of the defenders are strawmanning and bringing the fact I play genshin into it.
Like I know Hoyo isn't the best with skintone variety in their playable cast, added in the implications that one of the white character's family line used to own slaves and did make the only black character in Honkai hope they aren't aggressive like their parents, but they are doing pretty well culturally.
I swear many forget representation isn't just skintone, like culturally a region based in on SWANA regions is doing well to represent the lands and people(even if there is the joke of many places and people just being a random word in one of the languages)
Genshin also has great queer coded characters in Beidou, Ninguang, Itto, Gorou, Kazuha, Cyno, Tighnari, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Ei, Miko and Wanderer(He is the only one who is heavily trans coded). Not to mention the fact we have 2 characters with dwarfism(Sayu & Dori) and 2 with chronic pain/illness(Collei has chronic pain and we're going on the assumption that Baizhu has a chronic illness)

You know what? I'm going to spread some body positivity. Tw for weight mention and mention of losing weight (not in a shaming way tho, just fat vs muscle science, got an article that explains the density and weight between the two, just science stuff anyway back to topic)
--
Short chubby people look like dwarves and I'm not talking dwarfism, I mean dwarves. Face down an army wield a battle axe or running a tavern dwarves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shorter than them are the sneaky, clever, surprisingly brave and sometimes silly halflings/hobbits.
Tumblr media
Two of these dudes chose to and successfully convinced a bunch of ents(giant walking tree people just in case some readers have never heard of ents) to fight a battle and won said battle, one fought a fucking giant spider and then walked into an active volcano with his friend, even going as far to carry him when his friend could walk anymore.
Hobbits/halflings are very impressive. Be proud if you're a hobbit/halfling, be proud if you're a dwarf.
Trying to lose weight is hard but that doesn't mean you can't be strong. I'm a dwarf body type and I don't care if I lose weight, that's not what I'm aiming for. I'm working out not for getting rid of fat but because I wanna be able to bench press people(because that mental image of lifting someone taller than me is hilarious) and help out people who need help lifting heavy stuff.
I don't want to be skinny, I know I never will be, but damnit I can make myself strong instead. Want an idea for seemingly lazy exercise? Just strap on some leg and arm weights and go about your day but remember to take them off if it starts to hurt a bit and give yourself a rest, also stay hydrated, that's what I've been doing.
I could literally break a door with my kick but am I skinny? Nope and I'm fine with that. Also fuck scales they're liars, they don't take into count the weight that comes from muscles which are much denser than fat(here's an article if you'd like to read about that, definitely an interesting read because as it says if you fill two bowls, one with muscle and one with fat the muscle will be heavier due to density. SCIENCE!) use a tailor's measuring tape. It's more accurate when checking your progress.

seeing young people with no mask on and who, when asked, tell me they have no health condition (physical or otherwise) that makes wearing a mask actually difficult for them, make me absolutely fucking feral. like no, you fucking cunt, we don’t give a shit that you looked cute today or that you don’t want to mess up your lipstick or that your jawline is looking flawless right now. you have no reason to not wear a mask in a confined indoor space if you are literally in perfect health. no one gives a shit about your face. if i am looking at you it is because you look like an inconsiderate asshole, not because you’re pretty. you’re literally a virgin who can’t drive. check yourself and put your mask on. twats.

// DRV3 spoilers
to add onto my last post Ryoma is so poorly treated by the vast majority of the fandom simply because of his appearance (his early death doesn't help), that his death is largely treated as a funny joke to them and is hideously overlooked in general, especially after the second trial where people hardly seem to sympathize with him (they feel bad for Kirumi more) for not having anyone in the world who's important to him, which drove him to his breaking point and letting Kirumi kill him. not to mention his trauma, (heavily implied) depression and suicidal thoughts obviously being a sign of poor mental health due to how much shit he's been through for a high schooler (think about the fact that a high schooler is on death row). i'm not saying you have to like him, i'm saying the reason why he's treated so poorly is incredibly lame and sadly ties into the fact that he has no one

There's a tiktok that's pretty popular where a guy is asking basically if someone is a little person and an adult do you give weight based doses as you would a child or adult doses.
And this guy pointed out that there's not a lot of research on how to correctly dose medications for little people.
And given how you've mentioned there's chronic health issues that comes from being a little person. I was wondering if you had input?
I would think if there's potential health risks with being a little person, there would be more information on how to dose medication for little people?
Here's a link to the tiktok if you want to watch it.

tw: surgical mention, overdose mention, medical topic
Hello! With my achondroplasia, I have had frequent doctor's visits and many surgical procedures. From those experiences I have come to the conclusion that most medical professionals are lacking when it comes to knowledge on treating a little person - many have not even been sure of how to talk to me.
On the topic of medications and dosages, what I know is that I've been overdosed, gone through withdrawal, and had negative side affects from medications more times than I can count - specifically while at the hospital. (Whether it be the time it took me ten hours to wake up from anesthesia, vomiting from too much anti-nausea medication, severe withdraw from morphine, etc.) And a lot of the medical and surgical advancements for little people have only existed throughout my parent's lifetime, alongside the fight against the medical model of disability. Education on disability still has far to go within the medical community (and frankly, the proper treatment of any patient who isn't white, cishet male, of average height and weight).
The tiktok brings up an excellent point on the severe lack of knowledge when treating and prescribing people with bodies like mine. The medical system, in both it's education and physical implementation, needs to do better.

do you think tywin would have liked tyrion any better had he not been a dwarf? maybe even groomed him to be the heir to casterly rock when jaime was no longer a possibility? or would the fact that tyrion's birth still killed joanna be too much of a hindrance for him to overcome?
It would have definitely changed Tywin’s attitude towards Tyrion. There would still be some resentment regarding Joanna’s death, but the ableism involved would certainly not exist.
Tyrion, as the babe was named, was a malformed, dwarfish babe born with stunted legs, an oversized head, and mismatched, demonic eyes (some reports also suggested he had a tail, which was lopped off at his lord father’s command). Lord Tywin’s Doom, the smallfolk called this ill-made creature, and Lord Tywin’s Bane. Upon hearing of his birth, King Aerys infamously said, “The gods cannot abide such arrogance. They have plucked a fair flower from his hand and given him a monster in her place, to teach him some humility at last.” –TWOIAF
This is an official recorded history book, for goodness sake, relating that the king called this dwarf baby Tywin’s punishment from the gods, and that the smallfolk gave him names declaring he’d destroy his father! This would not have happened if Tyrion were not a dwarf. When Jeyne Marbrand died giving birth to Gerion Lannister, it was very sad, and it’s said that “the Laughing Lion” Tytos Lannister no longer laughed, but nobody hated Gerion or called him cursed or said he’d be his father’s doom, did they? Death in childbirth happens frequently in Westeros, it’s a sad fact. But dwarves are rare, “demonic”, and cursed.
And we have the words of witnesses at the time to magnify the point:
“I had just been born. What did you expect of me?”“Enormity,” the black-haired prince replied. “You were small, but far-famed. We were in Oldtown at your birth, and all the city talked of was the monster that had been born to the King’s Hand, and what such an omen might foretell for the realm.”“Famine, plague, and war, no doubt.” Tyrion gave a sour smile. “It’s always famine, plague, and war. Oh, and winter, and the long night that never ends.”“All that,” said Prince Oberyn, “and your father’s fall as well. Lord Tywin had made himself greater than King Aerys, I heard one begging brother preach, but only a god is meant to stand above a king. You were his curse, a punishment sent by the gods to teach him that he was no better than any other man.”
–ASOS, Tyrion V
“Enormity.” Monstrous evil. That’s not applied to ordinary children whose mothers die in childbirth. It’s on dwarves, and dwarves alone.
“You, who killed your mother to come into the world? You are an ill-made, devious, disobedient, spiteful little creature full of envy, lust, and low cunning. Men’s laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors, since I cannot prove that you are not mine. To teach me humility, the gods have condemned me to watch you waddle about wearing that proud lion that was my father’s sigil and his father’s before him.” –Tywin, ASOS, Tyrion I
Bolding mine to note the specific prejudiced ableist terms used only because Tyrion is a dwarf. “killed your mother” - deliberately, not accidentally, as he is a demonic creature, who killed her with intent. “devious, disobedient, spiteful little creature” = “the Imp”, a title that is literally calling Tyrion a demon! “envy” = because he doesn’t deserve to have what his betters have. “lust” = he’s not human, he doesn’t love, he only has base desires. “low cunning” = not intelligence, but animalistic sly deceptiveness. “I cannot prove you are not mine” = because surely the great golden Tywin Lannister could never produce such a vile little creature. “the gods have condemned me to watch you waddle about” = even watching Tyrion move is a punishment from the gods, specifically aimed at Tywin.
So, subtract all that, subtract the fact that the entire country knew that the Hand’s lady wife had died giving birth to a monster and it thus signified terrible things for the realm and a punishment from the gods for Tywin Lannister… what do we have? Just a baby with an unfortunate birth. Tywin would have been sad, but he would have gotten over it. Maybe he’d still be reluctant to give up on his golden Jaime, but he would have been far more likely to accept and train Tyrion as his new heir.
For more discussion on this possibility, again I recommend @joannalannister to you. In fact, she’s covered the subject several times, here, here, and here at least. I hope that helps!

But also can I talk about the fact that I regularly forget that I've got pituitary dwarfism despite needing to take nightly shots for years
shots that only stopped because insurance decided to stop footing the 8k monthly bill
shots that I was partially allergic to because of the penicillin and no one knew for the first year until the needle fell in my mum's leg one night and she was like "holy fuck this burns!!!" And I was like "yeah it does that"
I was told that I needed that medication or I'd probably die. So like, what's a little nightly burning?
Or how about the time the guy trying to fill vials for my monthly blood work didn't believe me when I said not to use my right arm (because obviously a kid doesn't know, and how am I as a kid going to tell this guy how to do his job?). But yeah, let's just say he went "fishing".
Or when I medically died because they lowered my blood pressure too much during a test and that's why I'll never see the end of Ants
Or that leading up to my diagnosis my doctor didn't really believe anything was wrong until when she ran in the room, clearly waiting until right before my apt to read the updated notes on my file, in a fucking panic because I'm supposed to be dead?
I had thought that my lack of emotions about all that at the time meant I was handling it pretty well. But obviously if I'm repressing shit it wasn't okay.

TW: abelism (if you have dwarfism, please keep scrolling. Apparently people aren't aware that a certain word is a slur.)
Midget is a slur for people with dwarfism or little people.
If I catch you using it, I'm going to smack the shit out of you.
People LEGITIMATELY tried to convince me that "midget" and "dwarf" were two different things the other day, so I guess SOMEONE has to fucking teach you.
(I'd normally never say the term, but I guess it's not common sense. So now you know. STOP SAYING THE FUCKING WORD.)

Scotta stands at 4”9.5
The legal height to be diagnosed with dwarfism is 4”10 or shorter.
Scotta’s dwarfism is caused by a medical disorder known as Turners Syndrome. Her limbs are still in proportion with her torso and head, but this does not discredit her as a little person.
This isn’t a diagnosis I chose to give Scotta because it would be ’interesting’ or ’quirky’, it came from how the character naturally developed her as I was writing, and has been a part of her character since before I ever roleplayed with her on Tumblr.
With October being Dwarfism Awareness Month, I wanted to make a post about this. Not to show off how ’accepting’ I am, but due to a quote from Peter Dinklage - “Dwarves are still the butt of jokes. It’s one of the last bastions of acceptable prejudice.”
I’m not a little person, nor do I know any personally, so maybe I’m the last person who should be addressing this, but it is an issue and it needs to be addressed by somebody. It’s something that we see often, especially in films and on TV, but never really notice.
That needs to stop.
I’m not involved with any charities, so I’m not here asking for money or donations, all I’m asking for is a voice. And what better voice than the Descendants fandom? A fandom for a series based around the descendants of famous Disney characters, including the 7 dwarves. Of whom we’ve only met one, who certainly isn’t a dwarf. What’s more, there are two major characters who, as far as I’m aware, have been described specifically as being short (although I doubt short enough to be considered little people), those being Uma and Mal.
I know that posting on Tumblr isn’t exactly the best way to help - it’s like liking a picture on Facebook to try and cure a child’s cancer. It just doesn’t work. I hardly have the largest following either, but if I can get the word out in some way, and that word spreads, then maybe we can do something.
That’s all I’m asking. Spread the word, and spread awareness.
- Rhiannon

38 Weeks!!
TW: Pregnancy and sonogram pics below the cut. If you don’t want to see this content, please block the tag “Momma Winchester Writes”
HERE WE ARE FOLKS, 38 weeks, aka 2 more weeks until Baby Girl’s arrival!
Tumblr media
We got her weekly sonogram yesterday and she looks PERFECT!
Tumblr media
She weighs 7 lbs 5 oz, her heart rate, blood flow to the placenta and fluid levels all fall within the “normal” range, the specialist also took a look at her thigh bones. They also fall within the “normal” range, meaning that she is NOT showing signs of dwarfism.
I went over my birth plan with my OB, which is short and sweet; have a baby. Our first goal is to have a vaginal delivery, the last resort (if my body isn’t tolerating labor, Baby Girl isn’t tolerating labor, my cervix hasn’t changed OR there’s an emergency) will be a c-section. If I don’t go into labor on my own by her due date, I’ll be induced the Monday after her due date (2/8, which is also my brother’s birthday). My OB also advised me to go ahead and pack a bag just in case because the specialist can send me to the hospital if they see her fluid levels are low or there’s anything else they see that they don’t like.
With all that being said; we have our “go bag” 95% packed. We have a few last minute things for us and Little Miss to put in there. I’m also doing some last minute shopping with my sister on Saturday to get nursing bras and a few other odds and ends we don’t have yet.
M’Lord and I are eagerly anticipating our Little Lady’s arrival, and I’m honestly ready for her to come. My body is just worn out ya’ll! I’m tired a lot, my pelvis, back and feet ache a lot so I’m taking it easy where and when I can. It’s honestly come to the point where I’ve told her “ya know, if you feel like making an early appearance, we don’t mind!” 😜
I know my body is doing something incredible and (frankly) mind blowing....creating and carrying a human being. It’s been a fascinating and tiring process, but I’m glad to have experienced it....now I’m ready for it to be over!! If you’ve had a baby, I’m sure you know what I mean.
Hope all of you are having a wonderful week and I’ll catch up with you guys soon!!!
