Today a college friend told us about her dad and the fact he is legally female while being a cisgender man.
Basically his name is Guadalupe (we are mexican), Guadalupe is the name of...
Tumblr media
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe), a catholic figure well known and worshipped in Mexico.
Basically his grandma (his dad's mom) begged Guadalupe to give her a child, she told the saint that she'd name then Guadalupe no matter if they were a boy or a girl.
So the dad is born and they go to register him as Guadalupe, the lady doing the paperwork didn't really asked what the child was and assumed they must be a girl because of the name (Guadalupe is actually kind of an unisex name btw, lol) and registered him as female.
And the dad just lives like that, most of his paperwork just lists him as female and until recently he didn't had any issues about that, lately he's been changing his papers because of an specific document he needs but basically:
• Dad is legally female.
• Dad and mom are legally lesbians.
• My classmate legally has two moms.

Banner of Our Lady of Guadalupe
The banner was taken from the church of Atotonilco, current state of Guanajuato, and used by the priest don Miguel Hidalgo on September 16, 1810. It is mounted on a carved wooden frame, rests on a base or pedestal with triangular support, tripod column with allegorical representation of rifles and wooden cannons. In the frame it has glass cover. :: [Robert Scott Horton]

December 12 | Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Our Lady of Guadalupe first introduced herself as the Mother of God and the mother of all humanity when she appeared on the hill of Tepeyac in Mexico in 1531. An indigenous peasant, Juan Diego, saw a glowing figure on the hill. After she had identified herself to him, Our Lady asked that Juan build her a shrine in that same spot, in order for her to show and share her love and compassion with all those believe.

In the week after my brother was paralyzed, I met daily with a chaplain at the hospital in Santa Fe. He was dressed in sweat pants and dirty tennis shoes and would often visit the ICU in the middle of the night. He and I would sit on the floor outside the ICU and have conversations. He told me he had come to New Mexico and South America because the religion was more oriented to the divine feminine. He was a very quiet person and we rarely even talked about religion. In the years since the accident my brother has tried to find this person to thank him. No one knows who he is, no one else remembers seeing him. I always remember him as a visitor from the feminine side of God, there to give comfort in our deep distress.
