Do you have any headcanons on what genres of music the wonderworld human characters like to listen to?

Yeah! You bet!

Leo Craig: He loves listening to Rock music. So stuff like Three Days Grace, Skillet, and Fall Out Boy are on his playlist.

Emma Cole: She's not particularly picky with any music genre. But if she had to pick one, it would be K-Pop. Take BTS, VIXX, AOA, and TWICE for example.

Jose Gallard: He actually loves listening to Latin music that's popular. Like Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and Don Omar would be playing on his radio.

Fiona Demetria: She loves Country and Pop. So Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Carrie Underwood are what she'll listen to.

Yuri Brand: She is a J-Pop fan. So her music playlists are from artists like Kikuo and Otetsu. Especially since Vocaloid is there.

Haoyu Chang: He'll listen to anything as long as it isn't Hip-Hop. You can pretty much play Barbie Girl from Aqua and he wouldn't care at all. Or Nyan Cat. Or the Piña Colada song. Just don't play anything with Hip-Hop.

Sana Hudson: She loves listening to music that came out in the 80's and 90's. Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Blondie, you name it. And her favorite of all time? NKOTB.

Cass Milligan: She likes Pop music, specifically bands that have either disbanded or are still together. One Direction, Big Time Rush, and Cascada.

Cal Suresh: He likes listening to Bollywood music of any kind. If you blast it on your radio and phone, he'll happily hum to it.

Iben Bia: She will either listen to Jazz, Pop, or Alternative. Stuff like Melanie Martinez or Coldplay are her favorites.

Attilio Caccini: Pop all the way! He loves Pharrell Williams or any artist that makes him happy whenever he listens to music.

Lucy Wong: She's a sucker for Classical music. She plays it to help her concentrate on her art. Music from Mozart and Beethoven are what she goes for.

Eis Glover: Like Sana, he listens to music that was popular in 80's and 90's. He's really fond of Michael Jackson.

Bruce Stone: He loves listening to the 60's and 70's music. So Elvis Presley, Queen and Beach Boys are his jams.

Hey!! I’m Vixen-Flower, but most people just call me Vixx. I use she/her pronouns.

I like to draw, write, read, and rant about stuff that doesn’t matter. I like it when people use my designs so @ me if you do!

I’m mostly a Warrior Cats fan, but I do delve into other fandoms like Marvel, Star Wars, WoF, SaB/SoC, TOH, MLP, Arcane, Beastars, and others occasionally.

i hope it's okay to send this because i kind of wanted to explain a little more about loona? (i was thinking of adding a commentary but eh, im on mobile so...), so i wouldnt say loona's case is as bad as it was for vixx, i think i can only pinpoint 2 instance where... something definitely fishy happened. so the 1st was in 2020, when lee sooman (from sm) invested money & worked with loona (loona is one of those groups with lore & storyline) and when aespa debuted a few people noticed a few similarities with loona (aesthetic, some lore, etc.) obvsly loona dont own some concepts o it was just a "eh" moment and people moved on. the 2nd instance was with nmixx and it was Weird, so nmixx debuted with some concept trailer and people were like "wait did they... did they copied loona's mvs & teasers? or did the video production company just got lazy and reused those shots?" but the video prod company ceo was CONFUSED as well and said so on instagram (before deleting the post & was later hired to film the mv?? idk it was weird.) so like i wouldn't say loona's get constantly ripped off bc that wouldn't be true & groups are allowed to have similar concepts!! but sometimes it's like "hmm. i see."

but like you said, if the competition field was levelles, i think groups from big, rich companies would be having a much harder time because they only get opportunities through their affiliations. not to say they're not talented but they're nepo babies thats all!!!!

p.s : also does anyone remember when aespa's lyricist straight up plagiarized janelle monae's django jane rap because that was WILD.

of course it's okay, you're more than welcome to elaborate! thank you for taking the time to do so because admittely, i am far from being super familiar with loona lore (beyond their first year at least)

maybe companies saw that loona's somewhat experimental concepts and maketing worked out so they decided 'hey let's use that, it's not like they can sue us'. i mean fans of some groups can be very annoying with 'they own this!' when it was already done 1468 times before But some groups manage to either refresh something already done or make something new their trademark so it does feel like ~their thing~. one thing about loona concepts etc is you can tell right away it's loona lol

the investment part reminds me of sm nerfing infinite 🥲🥲🥲

aespa got the usual 'let's change things up before 1st comeback' sm treatment, and as calculated everything was, they succeed i guess? they had their songs play on variety shows whatnot, nugus don't get that... nugus don't debut in a company that produces hit tv shows and has creative control over them... is it fair? it's hard to flop if your company is this big and many fans are primarly company stans so they buy whatever they are selling........

nmixx feels like a fever dream to me bc jyp ent never really did stuff like *gestures vaguely* that, at least gg wise... jyp as usual is heavy mediaplaying, ofc focused on just one member. the thing about jyp's marketing is they are smart with it, usually people get annoyed with constant stream of fluff pieces but they mastered making it seem less obvious. i mean if you see someone's name mentioned a lot in the media, you assume they got to be famous, right? it's kinda like that. i remember people saying jyp did this with suzy or gorioshi'ed twice to success in japan. who knows really!

every now and then i get flustrated by the ~state of things~ but then i remember it's show business, not show art or show fairness :/

Tumblr intro post 2024 Edition

Oh hello.  I am Ren.  Cishet, she/her.  This is my tumblr.  It goes all the way back to 2012, but I haven’t really been active on it for several years now.  So time to reintroduce myself to the tumblrverse, I guess, and see if I can generate some social interactions.

So, I turn 61 in a couple of months.  I know, that’s ancient in tumblr years, but I also know there are a few other Gen Xers out there.  I always identify myself as a Mom before anything, even though my daughter @missr3n3 is a grown-ass adult and awesome creator, so check her out.  But I am also Mom by nature, taking care of others, nurturing and encouraging them. Oh!  And I’m a cat-mom to a female ginger named Starlord.

Since the pandemic, I work from home, which is essential since during the dumpster fire of 2020 I suffered a (mild)traumatic brain injury (yeah, mild, she gently shook her head disbelievingly) and if I had to go back to my pre-pandemic routine, well, I couldn’t and I’d be living a very different life.  So let’s get the brain injury out of the way.  It’s one of those invisible disabilities, and I’m quite functional most of the time, but it is still there and it is a bitch.  It limits the amount of energy I have in a day, limits what I can do, where I can go, and even after learning to skillfully manage my life around it for more than three years, I am one bright light or loud sound away from spending a day or more in bed.  Some things can’t be anticipated or worked around, and therefore, have to be endured.  All that said, I try to stay focused on more positive things and not let this become my entire identity.

So what do I do, and why might you, fellow tumblor, be interested in following this here little blog thing?

Crochet – after a nearly three-year break, I have been able to pick up my hook again, and while it can be frustrating and slow-going, I’m quite happy to have it back in my life. This is a pattern by BonnieBayCrochet on Youtube.

Diamond Painting – instead of focusing on things I can’t do any more, I sought to find something I could do and diamond painting is one of these things, so I guess I’ll be posting about those projects, though again they move slowly.

Acrylic Painting – something else I had to take a break from that is still a frustratingly slow process for me.  I am hoping I can build some accountability into this blog by posting any progress I make with it. This is a painting I finished awhile ago. Based on the work of Yobanka Art Paint on Youtube.

And this is the unfinished painting that has been staring me down for the past year. From a tutorial by The Art Sherpa on Youtube.

Television/streaming – I am a fan of Asian dramas, though good ones can be hard to find and subtitles do soak up my available brain juice.  I wish I was enjoying “Mysterious Lotus Casebook” more than I am, given that I finally broke down and I gave iQiYi my $8.99 to see it.  However, I got “War of Faith” in the bargain and after a couple of episodes I’m enjoying it.  I find most American media too much for my brain to take, but there are plenty of vintage dramas on the free streaming platforms.  I am currently working my way through “Have Gun Will Travel” and the original “Dynasty.”

Reading – I used to read – a lot – but I don’t have the concentration for it anymore.  However, when I could, I read a lot of books and I’m happy to comment on them.

Music – this is the thing my brain injury truly robbed me of and the hardest adjustment to make.  I love everything from classical to kpop, though the only group I continue to follow, just to see how my boys are doing, is VIXX.  For now, when I can, I listen to classical guitar pieces played on very low volume, with occasional visits to vintage country music (Waylon Jennings anyone?), when my brain has the capacity.  Favorites have always included Ian Hunter and Van Halen, but rock and pop tend to do my head in, so that is more from memory these days.

Other interests are Buddhist philosophy, cooking, cleaning channels on Youtube, and other people.  That means you!  Yes, you!  I would love to know about your life, your interests, your ups and downs, hopes and dreams.  Unless you’re a bot, or your only interest is porn, or you need my credit card information, or you are a horny old man who thinks this is a dating site.  But I’m a glass-half-full kinda old cat lady, so I prefer to think there are plenty of people out here in Tumbland who are interested in sharing this journey, with a slice of cake and a cup of tea, of course.

But since you asked, right now my favorite stages are... maybe the 2019 Smtown in Japan Gravity and the KBS awards For Life?

You also picked the sweetest Suho moments, very fun to revisit. <3 Our leader really puts his heart into everything he does. I haven't started his drama yet either although it looked exciting! I have been watching Xiumin's ceo-dol mart, I just have the last couple episodes left. What have you been watching lately?

My favorite bbh moments... are many lol. I love the late night car ride lives he was doing for a while just singing and driving.

Favorite Kyunsoo songs... all of Empathy? I also really like Wonder off the new album.

I don't know that I have a SHINee bias, I feel like it changes every day but I adore them all. For WayV either Ten or Kun (speaking of lovable dorky leaders).

I like SuJu as well (so many good songs!!) I haven't heard any VIXX- what's your song rec? For Pentagon now is probably a rough time to get into them haha but I would recommend looking up Shine and Naughty Boy those are my favorites, or maybe Daisy or Dr. Bebe if you like a more intense concept.

I am not really a true horror fan but I really like the sort of offbeat gothic creepiness (think Addams Family or SHINee Married to the Music energy) and I like having a season to play that up. I don't have any halloween plans, but I decorated! What about you? Do you celebrate Halloween?

Re: your present, I wanted to ask if there was anything specific you might want? I mostly do digital art, but I can also do traditional drawing, moodboards, edits...I already have some ideas, but lmk if there's anything you had in mind!
