#warrior cats statistics

Link
It’s been one year since we posted our Warrior Cats Rarepairs Collection, and for its anniversary, @foxstride and I decided to post a meta update. This includes various statistics, including how many fics got posted in the last year, how many rarepair ships currently have canonical tags on Ao3, and which ships have graduated to not being so rare anymore!
The work is two chapters, and in chapter two you can see some of the nittier, grittier statistics.
If you want to check out our spreadsheet you can also take a look at ships that got newly wrangled this year, how many fics each ship has that are wrangled, and more!

oh and if anyone's wondering about other roles (like medicine cats)
shadowclan has had 3 dead medicine cats, four if you count yellowfang, five if you count shadowsight, but then i would have to count bramblestar for the leader count and i didn't
thunderclan has had 4 dead medicine cats if you count yellowfang, five if you count briarlight who was basically a medicine cat in all but name.
riverclan has had uh. two.
windclan is as far as i'm aware still at literally just one.
skyclan has had one that i'm aware of
and for deputies,
thunderclan has had 4. if you count berrynose. i don't know if you count berrynose. side note other than berrynose all of these were in the first arc
shadowclan has had 4
riverclan has had uhhhh. god does it count if your deputy was literally on his way to get his nine lives. because if it doesn't riverclan has actually had 0 acting deputies die. the only one who has was reedwhisker who was on his way to get promoted. guess that's what happens when the erin's forget about you that bad
windclan technically has had 3 dead deputies, ashfoot deadfoot and mudclaw, but mudclaw was not acting deputy at the time. i don't think there Was an acting deputy at the time tho
and skyclan is also at. One. as far as i can tell
this is all main series i do not care about super editions

So, I'm writing an essay on the whole STATE of misogyny in WC for one of my university classes, and I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of things! No pressure of course, please feel free to say no!
A) Could I reference your good takes with appropriate harvard referencing and links back to your blog?
B) Are there any specific moments from the books that you think should be covered the most?
C) The end result will be a visual essay, so it's like those fun infographics people on Tumblr make on like ADHD and stuff, so when it's done, would you like to be tagged to read it?
(Sorry for anon, I'm nervous lmao, but if you'd be more comfortable I'll resend this off anon)
AAY good topic! You've got a lot to work with. Absolutely feel free to reference anything I've written, and tag me when you're done.
While you're here and about to write something so legitimate, I'm also going to recommend you check out Sunnyfall's video on gender in Warrior Cats. She breaks down the arcs into numbers, directly comparing the amount of lines mollies have to toms, and examining the archetypes women are usually allowed to be.
I think it's a must-have citation in a paper about WC misogyny.
...and, I think it's insightful to look at the WCRP Forum thread about the video. Note how the respondents immediately come into the thread to complain about how the video is too long so they didn't watch it, dismissing Sunnyfall as not being entertaining enough to hold their attention, even whining that she starts with statistics to prove her point, which I'm convinced she did exactly because they would have cried that she "had no evidence" if she didn't.
I am not a scholar, so I don't know how to document or prove that the books have an impact on the audience outside of anecdotes. But I think if you do write a section about fandom, it would be worth mentioning the in-universe and metatextual apologia for Ashfur and its reflection in the real world discourse, the authorial killing of Ferncloud because of fan complains, and the utter defensiveness against the discussion of misogyny you see outside of Tumblr.
You may also want to check out Cheek by Jowl, a collection of 8 essays about sexism in xenofiction by Ursula K. Le Guin. There's a very unique manifestation of authorial bias in animal fiction, having a lot to do with how the author views "the natural world," and it's worth understanding even though Warrior Cats are so heavily anthropomorphized.
So... Warrior Cats Misogyny
I think discussing individual instances can be helpful, but I'd implore you to keep in mind what's REALLY bad about WC's misogyny is framing and the bigger picture.
Bumble's death is shocking and insulting, but it's not just that she died. It's that the POV Gray Wing sees her as a fat, useless bitch who took his mate so she deserves to be dragged back to a domestic abuser, and he's right because the writers love him so much. It's that Bumble's torture and killing only factors into how it's going to hurt a man's reputation.
It's how Clear Sky hitting, emotionally manipulating, or killing the following women,
Bright Stream (pressured into leaving her home and family)
Storm (controlled her movements and yelled at her in public)
Misty (killed for land, children stolen)
Bumble (beaten unconscious, blamed nonsensically on a fox)
Alder (child abuse, hit when she refused to attack her brother)
Falling Feather (scratched on the face, subjected to public abuse and humiliation)
Tall Shadow (thrown into murderous crowd, attacked on-sight in heaven)
Rainswept Flower ("blacked out" in anger and murdered in cold blood)
Moth Flight (scratched on the face for saying denying medical treatment is mean, taken hostage in retaliation against mother for the death of his own child, which he caused)
Willow Tail (eyes gouged out for "stirring up trouble")
Is seen as totally understandable, forgivable, or not even questioned at all, when killing Gray Wing in an act of rage would have been "one step too far" with the ridiculous Star Line.
"Kill me and live with the memory, and then let the stars know it would only matter if a single one of your murder victims was a man."
It's the way that fathers who physically abuse their kids out of their ego (Clear Sky, Sandgorse, Crowfeather) aren't treated anywhere near the same level of narrative disgust and revulsion the series has for "bad moms", even if they're displaying symptoms of a post-partum mood disorder (depression, anxiety, and rage), an umbrella of mental illnesses 20% of all new mothers experience but are heavily stigmatized with (Sparkpelt, Palebird, Lizardstripe).
It's Crookedstar's Promise giving him two evil maternal figures in a single book, while bending over backwards to make every man in a position of power still look likeable in spite of the fact they're enabling Rainflower's abuse. Leader Hailstar is soso sorry that he has to change Stormkit's name for some reason, in spite of leaders being unaccountable dictators the other 99% of the time, and Deputy Shellheart functionally does nothing to stop his own son from being abused or even do much parenting before or after the fact.
It's the way men's parental struggles are seen sympathetically, and they don't have to "pay for it" like their female counterparts (Crookedstar's PPD vs Sparkpelt's PPD, how Daisy and Cinders are held responsible for Smoky and Whisper being deadbeats, Yellowfang's endless guilt for killing her son vs Onestar's purpose in life to kill his own), even to the point where a father doesn't have to have raised their kids at all to have a magical innate emotional connection to them (Tree's father Root, Tom the Wifebeater, Tigerstar and Hawkfrost).
It's less speaking lines and agency for female characters, being reduced to accessories in the lives of their mates and babies, women getting less diversity in their personalities, with even major ex-POV characters eventually becoming "sweet mom" tropes.
You could zoom in on any one of these examples and have an amoeba try to argue with you that "Oh THIS makes sense because X" or "Ah well my headcanon perfectly explains this thing" or "MY mother/girlfriend was abusive/toxic/neglectful and I've decided that you are personally attacking ME by having issues with how a character was written or utilized," but the beleaguered point,
That I keep trying to hammer in, over and over, across books worth of posts,
Is that these are trends. More than just a couple one-off examples. It's the fabric that has been woven over years, showing a lack of interest in, or even active prejudice of, women on behalf of the writers.
LONG STANDING trends, which have only gotten worse as the series progressed. From Yellowfang being harshly punished with a born evil son who ruins her life in TPB and the mistreatment of Squirrelpaw that begins in TNP, all the way up to the 7 Fridgenings of DOTC and Sparkpelt's PPD being a major character motivator for her son Nightheart.
So, I would stress that in your paper, and structure it less as "the Sparkpelt slide" and "the Yellowfang slide," and more as "The paternal vs maternal abuse" slide, and "the violence against women" slide. They're really big issues, there's tons of examples for each individual thing.
Anyway to leave off on a funny, look at this scene in Darkest Hour that I find unreasonably hilarious,
Tumblr media
"Everyone who matters to me; my truest friend, my sensible and loyal warrior, the wisest deputy I've ever known, and 2 women." -Firestar, glorious idiot
He can't even think of a single trait for either of them what the hell does "formidable pair" mean lmaooo, when I finished a reread about a year ago this line killed me on impact.

trans headcanons in warrior cats are so funny because for any given character there's a statistically signifigant chance we watched them be assigned a gender at birth

LU Boys Headcanons
Hey! I have some headcanons that I'd like to share, and most of these will make, at the very least, brief appearances in my stories. Some of the boys have more than others, but oh well.
To start us off, we have Wind!
-He certainly looks small and sweet, but he's a terror when he's angry.
-He's super protective of those he claims as family.
-The wind reacts to his emotions and feelings without prompting. It has a mind of its own when it comes to its champion.
-His hair is bleached blonde from all of the time he spends out on the ocean (He despises the cap of the hero's clothes).
-He can dual wield! I feel like this would be very fitting for him (This has made an appearance in ATS as well :) ).
-Full name is Link Aalto (Aalto is wave of water in Finnish)
More under the cut!
Wild
-He's super good with animals. Small, large, feral, domesticated, anything really. He understands them to a certain extent, and they generally understand him as well.
Legend
-He's one of the more graceful ones in the group, but the most graceful.
-Doesn't really have an issue with Hylia, and is a fan of Din and Nayru (During the Oracle of Ages/Seasons, he made good friends with them both, imo).
Time
*shrugs* nothing yet
Hyrule
*shrugs* nothing yet here either
Twilight
-Country accent 100%. When they're in his Hyrule, it gets so crazy thick and the others tease him relentlessly about it.
-Loves pumpkins. As Ordons' main crop, he's a huge fan of all things pumpkin, and he and Sky trade recipes.
-Best friends with Dusk, evolved into a relationship.
-Loves to gossip with Warriors.
Four
-Speaks the same dialect of Hylian that Sky does (Ancient Hylian), so they tend to gravitate to each other when they get frustrated or overwhelmed.
-Has a bit of an accent compared to the others, but its nowhere near as prominent as Sky's.
Sky
-He's the most graceful in the group. His fighting looks very similar to dancing in the sense that its fluid and smooth.
-He dances with Fi. During his quest and once Sun was stuck in the crystal, Fi would occasionally force him to slow down and stop pushing himself so hard. They would dance together, Fi teaching Sky some of her favorite dances, and Sky teaching her Skyloftian dances in return. They both loved it.
-Sky hasn't danced since Fi returned to the Sword.
-Sky has a prominent accent. In my head, it sounds kind of like Fi when she speaks in-game, melodious, smooth, and ancient.
-His ears are very expressive. They move with his expressions. Skyloftians also have much better hearing than other Hylians. This comes from spending so much time on their Loftwings, and the necessity of hearing others flying with them, and needing to be aware of Skytails.
-Sky will startle and/or spook easily, but he doesn't get genuinely terrified very often at all. There's only a few things that will truly scare him.
-He's really good with anything with wings, and cats. Since Remlits don't exist outside of his era, this translates over to cats imo.
-Uses a lot of statistics and probabilities. This carries over from Fi, and he's aware that he does it, but tries not to most of the time (Sun thinks its adorable).
-His anger is quiet. He doesn't typically yell, but he gives off an entirely different vibe when he's angry. Depending on the situation, he can sometimes be quick to frustration, but he'd never take it out on anyone except himself.
-Speaking of, he feels like most things are his fault. Huge guilt complex. Sun and Groose hate that he feels this way, but despite their best efforts, he finds a way to blame himself for most things. :(
-He's a silent crier. He's always been on the quieter end, and he doesn't like to bother people when he's overwhelmed or upset.
-He's very light. I feel like most of Sky's 'bulk' comes from his layers. Living in the sky, the nights must be frigid, and the wind certainly doesn't do anything to help. So, he wears multiple layers, all Skyloftians do. I fee like Skyloftians might have a different bone structure than other Hylians, especially as the Loftwings carry them around, and can catch them out of freefall so easily.
Warriors
-Loves pumpkin soup. Had some when he was on Skyloft in the War of Eras, and has wanted more ever since.
-He knows Fi fairly well, having spent so much time with her during the war. He and Sky sometimes talk about her for hours at a time.
-Gossips with Twilight.
-He can understand a good deal of Ancient Hylian, but not as much or as well as Four can.
-He struggles on and off with speaking. Proxi hangs around him more often than not, and she'll help out when he needs it.
Good grief, I didn't realize how much typing this would be. But regardless, here you have it! Sky's got more than the others because I love him and I have a lot of Feelings about him. I know that Time and Hyrule have nothing, but I don't know their characters very well, so I just don't know what to think about them. Lol.
Have a good day!

AHEM
Are you tired of watching TV shows with wlw romances on Netflix and Amazon Prime and Disney Plus and so on that just keep getting canceled? Even if they did well statistically?
Did you love Warrior Nun? Willow? Paper Girls? The Wilds? The Owl House? First Kill? Etc?
Have you repeatedly had your heart broken by these massive, homophobic companies that are ruining TV?
Do you want to see a slow burn wlw relationship that was planned FROM THE BEGINNING finally culminate into something beautiful? Something earned? In a show that isn’t going to just be canceled? In a show that has more story to tell? Where we will get to see their relationship develop even further as they deal with trying to save the world together?
Then you should watch RWBY.
There are a multitude of reasons why you should watch RWBY that I’ve mentioned in other posts like this and this. But, at this particular moment with the cancel your gays trend still going strong, RWBY is a pretty safe show to gravitate toward. (I say pretty because, I mean, obvs shit can happen. But at the moment I'm confident the show is here to stay for quite some time because it's the biggest show of its production company and it's currently expanding quite a lot with other media.) It’s a bit of a haven, if you will. A balm for many of us.
Bumbleby (Blake and Yang/Black and Yellow) is THE MAIN SHIP of the show, between two of the titular ladies. Not just some side story. TWO OF THE MAIN PROTAGONISTS.
AND IT IS CANON!
A blonde and a dark haired lady! A cat girl and her useless lesbian girlfriend! The sunny golden retriever and her brooding cat girlfriend! They are literally coded (including COLOR CODED) to be together!
And there will be MORE!
Bumbleby has meant A LOT to many of us in the fandom. And it has definitely been a long time coming. Many of us weren’t sure it would ever happen. But it HAS. It was planned from the beginning and it was done BEAUTIFULLY.
Tumblr media
(For those of you who don’t know, the picture is a tweet posted by the creator of RWBY, presumably about Bumbleby, given it was posted a few days after a very poignant interaction between Blake and Yang first aired back in the early days)
In short, WATCH RWBY IF YOU’RE ALSO FUCKING TIRED OF CANCEL YOUR GAYS! BUMBLEBY IS WORTH IT!

TELL ME ABOUT TRANS LUIS!!! I WANT HIM TO BE TRANS SO BAD! (Also he has a giant neon sign over his head that says gay, this man reeks of homosexual)
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE OMG HEYYYYY HIIIIIII HELLOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I’m SOOOOOO sorry this took so long I had SO MANY THOUGHTS!!!!! I plan on SOMEDAY Doing Like. A properly credited and researched document on why I think Luis is trans so this post is more or less kind of a tl;dr rather than a super proper read?????????? And ofc obligatory ‘this is just my own reading and personal interpretation if you disagree please just keep your opinion to yourself!!!!!’
Also this isn’t proofread like. At ALL so please ignore any sentences that seem wonky or weird HDBEHENDUDJX
ALSO also I do NOT give permission for this post to be screenshotted or reposted ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! No part of this!! Don’t steal!!
Trigger warning for just general mentions of transphobia, religious transphobia and also I talk the death statistics for trans people near the end, so please keep that in mind when reading!!
Ok so, I’m gonna try and put this as chronologically as possible BXBSHDNSHDND but starting at the beginning from when Luis was little there’s already a few things we can pick up on
Luis has a pretty unorthodox family; his mum died when he was little and his dad left so he had to be raised by his Grandfather, and, ask any Trans person around you and they’ll tell you it’s oftentimes the people in their lives who weren’t their direct parents who decided to pick them up and raise them and accept them as they truly are- I feel like you could probably read this with Luis’ grandfather if you really wanted to, too. From what we can TEEEEEEELLL Luis held his grandfather and the memory of him very near and dear to his heart (ie referencing him in conversation, saying ‘not again’ when the medicine burns in seperate ways etc) so you could probably guess that maybe Luis’ grandfather was a surprisingly accepting figure in Luis’ life!!!!!
Which would also line up with the little we know about him- their house was somewhat far away from the rest of the village and from what the notes about him read, his grandfather was a bit of an outcast????? It seemed like the only person who checked in on him regularly was Bitorez- once again, another positive male figure in Luis’ life that he could theoretically look up to and admire.
AND we know that Luis’ grandfather encouraged his love for science and biology- something that prooooobably would’ve been frowned upon in a super conservative catholic glorified cult. So already, Luis and his Grandfather are a bit unorthodox in the setting they live in.
Then we cut to Don Quixote; obviously there’s a LOT to dissect about Luis and his love for that book, and it’s pretty common knowledge how,,,,,,,,, g a y that book is HXNEHENEUDIX like MAAAAAANY-a historians have already pointed that out I don’t need to beat a dead horse but ask literally any trans person around you and they’ll tell you about how they had a fascination with like,, Warrior Cats or Animorphs or Percy Jackson or Peter Pan growing up only to find out they were trans later. Trans kids are pretty drawn to books with unlikely protagonists who don’t fit the usual stereotypes and go on adventures with a whacky misfit family they formed by themselves- and Don Quixote kiiiiiiiiiiiinda falls under that pattern????? It’s a REALLY weird book and I wanna get into why later but it wouldn’t be shocking to assume that Luis probably grasped onto that idea of finding love and acceptance even though he was weird and unusual and he too could go on chivalrous adventures and do good in the world and be loved for who he is (I’ve kinda gone into this before and I plan on going into it again I’ll tag you in that post!!!!)
There’s also something to note about the fact that none of the village notes reference Luis by his first name. Luis is apparently a very “strong and masculine” name so if we ARE going off of the assumption that Luis is trans (which like,,. Duh HDNEHENDHS) then we can probably assume he picked that name for himself
It’s also pretty notable to note (hah) that like,,,,,, just in general, a lot of kids who grow up in a super religious environment just. Turn out gay and trans. I dunno why. I dunno what’s the exact statistic for that but like. Cmon. We’ve all seen it. We all know it right
Then huzzah! Luis’ Grabdfather dies!!! How sweet of him!!!!! /s obviously but Luis takes his death as an opportunity to run from home- again, something that’s sadly quite common amongst younger trans people it seems. When you loose your only support at home, and suddenly that home becomes unsafe, oftentimes the only solution is to run.
Now I’ve talked MUUUUUUCH more in depth about it in this post but considering the fact that Luis was probably a young teenager, an immigrant from the middle of nowhere, and had zero family or support- there’s a less than zero chance that he probably would have stumbled across the queer community one way or another. See, all throughout the 20th century, the queer and poc/immigrant communities were VERY intertwined- now I am WHITE AS ALL HELL so their history isn’t something I’m able to speak on with any amount of grace as actual people of colour could, so I’ll keep this breif and also if I’ve misrepresented anything PLEEEEAAASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME
Basically, like I said- the communities were very intertwined. They’d help each other and were sometimes seen as like the same circle of people when it came to what they were fighting for. All throughout history, this comes up time and time again- which is why I can only assume that Luis, a young person of colour having come from basically the middle of nowhere, would most likely find solace and a place in both communities- and would ABSOLUTELY have explored his gender and sexuality because of it. Even if he WAS cis there’s no way he wouldn’t have at least dabbled in a bit of the ol gender exploration every now and then
((Also, VEEEERY important to note that yes although trans and poc history are very intertwined they are still very seperate histories. It’s VERY IMPORTANT to not erase poc voices from this discussion when talking about this aspect of history- listen to your poc friends first and foremost before all else))
It’s also probably good to note that a few universities around that time were pretty notoriously open about being queer-friendly but we have no clue what exact university in Europe Luis would have gone to but idk we can probably guess he fooled around with some men and women HANSYWNEYENDUCJX
Then we cut to umbrella. I and a few other people have gone into how umbrella would have most likely groomed a young Luis into being excited to work with them and willing via offering him a place to stay, a college degree, a stable life etc etc but there’s also a sense of horror there when you take into account they could’ve offered him the ability to medically transition. Something that was NOT easy or very safe to do at the time. And plus this is resident evil so we can only guess what magical hoodicky they would’ve gotten to do that GDBEYWNDYDJ
From what we can tell, luis honestly enjoyed his time with umbrella!!!! He seemed to be friends with his coworkers and he was proud of the work he was doing (Yknow, before he would have found out it was all a lie and was going to kill millions HXBEHENEH) and honestly isn’t that every trans persons dream????? To have a job where you’re accepted and can feel safe at??????? To have friends who can accept you???????? It just makes what all went down all the more heartbreaking to me if we DO view him in the lens of being a trans character!!!!!!!!!
And then, of course, for the second time in his life; everything comes crumbling down. I’ve done seperate analysis on this and I plan on doing another cuz what I’m about to mention just hits,,,,,,,, S O O O O close to home to me, but when everything in his life gets destroyed AGAIN;
Luis chooses to go back to Valdelobos.
And isn’t that just so devastating?????? Because we as humans ALL do that- when life gets so bad and so intense we have no clue what to do, we all wanna turn to our parents or our childhood homes and get a hug and that feeling of nostalgia and safety from when we were kids that we missed.
But ask any other trans person and they’ll tell you that a lot of the time, that’s not what you’re gonna get; and that’s what happened to Luis. He went home, hoping- BEGGING- for some kind of support from the nightmares he just went through, only to be thrown straight into another one. Los Illuminados had been taken over and reverted his childhood home into something totally unrecognisable and forced him to work for them or else he’d literally be tortured. And isn’t that just,,,,, made all the more depressing when you look at it from a trans angle????
In this case scenario, when a lot of Trans people are forced to return to unsafe homes- they’re forced to push down their identity for their own safety. And reading that in Luis is just all the more devastating
And then there’s the whole thing where Luis literally SELF SURGICALLY REMOVED THE LAS PLAGAS FROM HIMSELF????????? WHY DONT MORE PEOPLE TALK ABT HOW TRAUMATISING THAT MUSTVE BEEN????????????? I know @/katabay made an INCREDIBLE post going into a religious reading on this and how I’m Don Quixote Alonso himself preforms an excorsism on himself and it’s weirdly erotic?????? And how that translates to Luis’ Plagas removal- they also made INCREDIBLE art go check it out- but throughout history there are a LOT of poems made by “”””women who want to be men”””” (aka trans men) who were religious at some point and describe the sensation of binding or getting top surgery to that of having an exorcism (this was mostly done to convince local churches that Hey no it was totally cool actually just let us get gender affirming care pretty pretty please) so, y’know,,,, maybe that meme that Luis showing Leon is scar was actually him coming out as trans wasn’t that far off HEBWYENXUXJXJDNC
And there’s also just the whole fact that he was a scientist that plays into this, too- Catholicism, specifically the hardcore Catholicism that Luis grew up with, absolutely HATES science. And the fact that Valdelobos seemed to be permanantly stuck in this 18th century cult-like state only confirms that they probably would have been anti-medicine, too; not only adding onto Luis’ guilt but also making him a prestigious scientist all the more impressive. Imagery that Luis is shown with (like that lil casket he carried around in seperate ways filled with the suppressants Ada needed) is often used by people in cults similar to Valdelobos to prove that ‘oh science is the devil!!!’ Etc, and y’know what else is related to science????
Medically transitioning babey!!!!!! A lot of the times hardcore religious people, again in similar cults to Valdelobos, use terms like ‘mutulating’ to describe medically transitioning and use already devil-associated imagery like science and modern medicine to hammer home that hatred of trans people (also obligatory not all religious people are like this in fact MOST religious people aren’t like this I’m talking specifically situations like the Gloriavale cult etc etc)
So like,,,,, again, that whole meme that Luis made his own testosterone wouldn’t be too far off BXNSHENDHDNX
But then we get some light at the end of this very depressing tunnel HXNSHENDUJ;
Leon, Ada and Ashley
Now from here on out I’m gonna get into some more like,,, CHARACTER dissection so I figured here would be the best place to put this HDBEYENEUS; Luis fits ALL the stereotypes of a stealth queer person during his time period. Like,, you know the song Gay or European????? Yeah that isn’t a joke that’s a real rhing European queer and trans men did to basically hide the fact that they were queer. It’s like. The oldest trick in the book. Which is why it’s SOOOOOO funny to me when I see Reddit dudebros going “errrrrmm actually Luis isn’t gay it’s just his Spanish charm!!” LIKE DUDE. YOUVE FALLEN FOR T H E TRICK. THIS IS THE EQUIVALENT OF A BIRD USING THEIR TAIL FEATHERS TO DISTRACT A PREDATOR.
And also Spain in general just has a very long and very beautiful Queer and Trans history- obviously it’d be way too much to fit into this one post but I highly reccomend just,,,, looking it up for yourself. Queer people have always been around :))
Ok ok, back to Leon- I plan on someday taking apart and dissecting EEEEEEEEEVERY interaction between them cuz it’s just. It’s all SO GAY. But in general, Luis treats Leon SO much differently than Ashley and Ada but in a good way!!!!!
Luis isn’t afraid to be open around Leon. He isn’t afraid to be flamboyant and jokey and flirt with him- and hell, he probably did enjoy that chain scene HXNEHENEUDJDJ he isn’t afraid to be more vulnerable and just generally what you wouldn’t consider a stereotypical “manly-man;” he doesn’t conform to western societies of stereotypical masculinity, and he isn’t afraid to show that around Leon.
He’s open with Leon- he’s vulnerable and he very openly CARES about Leon. He truly wears his heart on his sleeve and this is for a MULTITUDE of different reasons but I think a big part of it is not just because he’s genuienly attracted to Leon but because leon is a shining example of a chivalrous knight to him
I and many others have gone into this further; but when Luis first met Leon in that body bag, it probably honestly WAS like he was meeting his very own Don Quixote for the first time. He was probably a shining example of everything he wanted to be; brave, kind, never makes mistakes- and again I’ve gone into this further but this truly does play into his character and his very noble quest for redemption and forgiveness a lot and viewing this from a Trans angle just gives that quest SO much more power
Capcom does their best to make Leon out to be a super strong manly-man and @highball66 has gone into some of Leon’s own queer coding, but I think Luis also sees through this. He sees through his macho dudebro masculinity and he sees a genuine and kind human being underneath; just as Leon had done for him. Leon is everything Luis wants to be in a man- just like his grandfather and probably countless male figures in his life before him. So he’s not afraid to open up to Leon; he isn’t held back by that expectation of toxic masculinity because he wasn’t raised that way.
And he’s the EXACT SAME with Ada and Ashley too!!!!!!!! He CARES about Ada! He’s CONSTANTLY looking out for her and giving her the benefit of the doubt and he’s always so polite and kind around her!!!!!!!! Like yeah he puts on the front of being a ladies-man but again like SOOO many others before me have mentioned that’s probably just a safety front!!!!!! He wears his heart on his sleeve around Ada and Ashley, too- he’s always SO polite around her I feel like not enough people point that out????? He offered his hand out for her to take before inspecting the blood, he’s always asking for permission before he touches her etc he’s so nice people don’t give him enough credit for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And theeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnn it aaaaaaaaalll comes crashing down when he diiiiiieeeeeeessss,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
It’s pretty important to note that Luis is killed by Krauser; and again, other people have gone into Leon and Krausers queer relationship coding a lot better than I have, but it’s pretty interesting to note that Luis was killed by the guy who pretty much encapsulates all forms of toxic masculinity (again, that meme that everyone jokes about that Krauser killed Luis cuz he was jealous of Leon’s new boyfriend might not be far off HXHWHDUXHSH)
Luis uses his final breath to save Leon- to save the man who has shown him forgiveness and empathy and love for the first time in god knows how long. He opens his heart up to Leon in his final moments; he does one last ‘such a loss to the ladies of the world eh?’ As a last-ditch effort to try and convince Leon that he tooooooootally isn’t queer you guys and to try and hold onto that sense of normality; but he drops that act immedietly after Leon shows him that he’s taking this seriously
He opens up to Leon and admits that he led a pretty shitty life. He spills his heart out to Leon and asks him if people can change. And I’ve said rhis before and I’ll say it again; this is Luis looking for some kind of confirmation. Some kind of forgiveness and some way of saying that Yes his life DID mean something- that people CAN change and CAN be loved like he loved Leon and Leon loved him. And, hell, if we’re REEEEEAALY tryna stretch here (which I mean this whole post is tbh HXBSHSNEHDNSHD) you could even read this as Luis asking for somebody to accept him as he truly is, and see past the facade of a super flamboyant cis straight man. It’s not a stretch to say this moment is him looking and hoping that Leon can see through his past actions and see the beautiful human being underneath- so it wouldn’t be crazy to view it under a queer light either
Then, of course, Leon says that iconic line; you were a fine knight, Don Quixote. Confirming to Luis that he WAS like the chivalrous knight he always looked up to when he was little. Not just for his bravery and confidence; but also for his exploration of gender and non conformity in his sexuality. Leon confirms that for him in his final moments.
Then of course there’s the nature of his death; the fact that he dies below his childhood village is pretty telling to me.
Now this is where I’m gonna get into some depressing statistics, so readers beware, but unfortunately, there is a good chunk of trans people who will die in their childhood homes for many reasons. There’s been a good chunk of trans people all throughout history who have lived long, full lives but still were buried in their childhood homes and towns under their dead name or under the gender they were assigned to at birth. It’s depressing and there really is no making light of it- which is why Luis dying in the village he grew up in and tried so desperately to escape from hits so hard to me.
• Now HOPEFULLY obviously I am N O T comparing Luis’ death to actual real trans people’s deaths. But as somebody who HAS lost trans friends to suicide, the manner of his death absolutely REMINDS me of that and thus hits home harder for me. Go give your trans friends a hug, basically
But on the bright side, at least he didn’t die alone. He had Leon; he had somebody who could, theoretically, show the world who he truly was and remember him by his true name and nature. Luis won’t be totally forgotten underground; he’ll have Leon and Ashley and Ada ro remember the man he truly was just like how many, many trans people who have passed away will have friends and loved ones who will remember them for who they truly are.
Now I don’t wanna end this whole analysis on such a depressing note so I’ll add this at the end; I genuienly think that even if you DONT headcannon Luis as Trans, adding that element to his character not only enriches his already INCREDIBLY well written story but also just generally means the world to trans people in real life, too
Like,,,,, I’ve mentioned this before but I’ll say it again; seeing a character who is so genuinely confident in themselves, so open about their emotions and their identity and who holds themselves in a way that isn’t stereotypically “masculine”- that honestly hits so much closer to home than any other trans headcannon ever has. I’ve gone into detail about how much Luis as a character means to me, but seriously, reading him from this angle lowkey makes me want to cry with how much it means to me HDBEHENEHDJX
Luis is a Beautifully written character who shows the best and worst in all of us humans- who shows that we all just want to love and be loved and be forgiven and given the opportunity to change. All trans people deserve that, too; we all deserve the opportunity to live our lives to the fullest.
Even if you want to comment ‘ErM weLl CapCoM woUlD nEVeR hAvE a TrAns ChaRaCTeR-“ does it really matter???? Does it matter if a character has a canon label slapped onto them, if people can already analyse that character from their own perspective and find deep meaning in that themselves????? Is a character who is canonically queer any more meaningful than a character who isn’t????? I don’t think so, cuz clearly, myself and many, many others find solace and comfort and relatability in the fine knight that is Luis Serra
And finally; André Peña, Luis Serra’s voice actor, has been VERY vocal about his support for trans people and has even said he absolutely 100% believes that Luis would believe in trans rights- so suck it transphobes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luis is for US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Image ID: A pixel pride flag with the title "Clan Culture: Gender & Sexuality]
So... gay cats! I'll admit, RippleClan's Promise doesn't really focus on queer themes all that much, but there are gonna be some gay cats, and they're gonna be in realistic, well-written relationships, and I'm going to write them through the lens of a fictional culture! Yeah! I don't want the cats to see gender and sexuality just like modern humans do, so I want to give them a few quirks that you may have already seen in Moon 11.
Gender: Scent-Based Assumptions
Now I'll be honest, a lot of cats in the Clans are cis. It's just statistics, is all. However, cats don't have all the physical gender identifiers us humans do. Sure, ginger cats are more likely to be toms, and tortoiseshells are almost always born female, but there are plenty of exceptions! As such, Clan cats can't just assume they know what someone is from far away.
When meeting a new cat for the first time, when they are some distance away, a Clan cat will use they/them pronouns to define the newcomer. However, once the cat comes closer, the Clan cat then switches to he/him or she/her based on the cat's smell. This is because toms and mollies have distinct differences in their scent. The intensity of someone's hormonal scent varies throughout any given moon, but it is fairly consistent among fertile cats like those in the Clans. It's hard to translate tom-scent and molly-scent into human terminology, since a cat's sense of smell is far superior. However, based on research into actual cats, I have a few analogies.
Tom-scent is the stronger of the two and possesses a slight sour tint. Molly-scent, meanwhile, could best be described as both sweet and salty. Spayed/neutered cats possess either an extremely weak version of their birth-scent or none at all. In those situations, or when a cat's scent is confusing, Clan cats will check with the newcomer.
If your scent does not match up with your gender/pronouns, then you'll need to introduce yourself. This is common in Clan culture, so no one feels weird about it. It's weirder for someone whose scent matches their gender to specify pronouns, as in a Clan cat's eyes, its just restating something they already know.
Gender: Scent Affirmation
Since scent is the biggest identifier of toms and mollies, trans cats in the Clans focus less on changing stuff about their bodies and more on shifting their scents. Clerics have some treatments for this! Lemonweed is a common treatment to reduce tom-scent or molly-scent if the trans warrior eats some of it. When it comes to producing a certain scent, different cats need different herbs. Trans toms can use pine pollen, stinging nettle root, or sasparilla root. Trans mollies can add fennel to their diets instead.
If a cat is nonbinary or otherwise doesn't want their tom-scent/molly-scent, they'll focus on lemonweed. In theory, if humans kidnapped them and didn't kill them outright, they might be able to return with all that scent stripped away, but that's not really feasible.
Sexuality: We Care About One Thing and One Thing Only
Clan cats don't really care about sexual nuances. You can really date anyone (okay not really but not based on gender). They mostly look at individual relationships and ask a single questions: can they make kits?
I know, that's an icky question to us, but that's because we don't live in a society where our survival is contingent on a small population reproducing. All relationships are classified as either able or unable to have kits. Most straight relationships are in the former category. However, relationships between, say, a trans tom and cis tom might still fall into that category too (but I'm not writing that for... multiple reasons). These relationships have a cultural pressure to have at least one litter of kits that survive to adulthood. It can be hard to be in a relationship where kits are possible, but you just don't want any.
Meanwhile, if the relationship is physically unable to produce kits, there is some cultural disappointment that can linger over a relationship. However, this is resolved if the couple manage to adopt some kits (which considering how often Clangen cats just find random kits, isn't a long shot), as adoption is seen as the same as birthing kits right into the nursery.
(Up next, artisan lore!)

Would you take art submissions for identifying phenotypes?
Hm I’m not sure.
It would have to be either in a professionally published piece of media (ex. Warriors manga) or a request directly from the artist.
And it would have to be designed with the goal of realism in mind. If your character is purple and green all the power to you, enjoy! But I’m not going to try and scrounge up a realistic phenotype out of it.
But even then it’s questionable?
Like one of the clues I use is nose leather and paw pads but if the artist isn’t well-versed in coat colors these may not be useful in identifying phenotype or may even be contradictory to the rest of the design.
And I ask history of submitted cats because that makes a difference, too. If I’m on the fence on if a cat’s blue or lilac, for example, and the history is that they were found at 6 weeks old in a McDonald’s dumpster… I’m going to err on the side of blue because it’s more likely statistically speaking.
This is another clue that isn’t necessarily helpful in phenotyping illustrated designs because people will make sunshine karpati curl Warriors OC’s with no breed lineage because they look cool.
Which again, enjoy! But doesn’t help me in this context.
What do my followers think?

Want to play?
Tumblr media
After trying it out for ourselves, we’re here to tell you all the battle mechanics as simply as possible, and give you the tools to try the combat system yourself with your friends!
If this is confusing and/or it’s your first time seeing or trying a game like this, we completely understand. By doing this, we are putting a lot of responsibility on you, the player, that would otherwise be on the software. We will try our best to supply pre-made components and a simple step-by-step instruction guide below.
If you want to try playing but still can’t understand everything, we recommend reaching out to a more experienced friend, or someone in our Discord, to help you out or play with you!
You need at least two people to play, and some dice! If you don’t have physical dice at home, try rolladie, or the Google dice roll function! Up to eight people can play with opposing teams of up to four!
Remember, if you’re playing with someone long distance, games are more fun if you’re faithful to the dice roll - no cheating!
Rules are below the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you’d like to build a character yourself, see the following steps:
Step 1: Roll for Statistics
You can do this by using dice to simulate how the software will choose your cat’s statistics. The software will have weighted outcomes for balance, and we simulate this with specific dice.
For this step, you will be rolling 2 12 sided dice (d12) and 1 6 sided die (d6). These outcomes will be your stat points. A statistic can have between 0-30 points.
You must roll these 3 dice 6 times, and record what number the dice equal to each time you roll.
If you get a 3 during one of your 6 rolls, you then must roll a four sided die (d4). This is to ensure it is possible to get 0-2. Count the following number for these rolls:
1 = 1 point
2 = 2 points
3 = 4 points
4 = 0 points
Your six roll numbers will fill in the following categories:
Roll 1 = Strength
Roll 2 = Sense
Roll 3 = Smarts
Roll 4 = Speed
Roll 5 = Savvy
Roll 6 = Stamina
Lastly, roll a 20 sided die (d20) and record the outcome 2 times. These rolls equal:
Roll 1 = Fortune
Roll 2 = Doom
Fill these numbers in the corresponding categories.
Now, count how many blocks you have for each category (excluding Stamina). These blocks are also known as dice or chances. Their official name is pending, but they equal the amount of times your cat has to succeed or fail for a single roll!
0 - 4 points = 1 die
5 - 9 points = 2 dice
10 - 14 points = 3 dice
15 - 19 points = 4 dice
20 - 24 points = 5 dice
25 - 29 points = 6 dice
30 points = 7 dice
Erase the dice you do not have from the sheet!
If you are playing at level 1, you are done.
However, if you wish to level up your cat to try the different battle mechanics, choose your class, then see the following:
Choose your class first.
After each level, you are given 10 stat points to distribute however you please among the 6 different statistical categories. This does not include Fortune and Doom.
For example, if you are going from level 1 to level 5, add 40 stat points to your character.
Add your stat points, then add the corresponding dice to the number your statistical category is at. Remember that the 6 categories all cannot go above 30.
Step 2: Choose a Class
Generally, your character’s class should depend on your statistics. The 5 classes are Warrior, Ranger, Medic, Thief, and Bard. Each class favors one of the statistical categories.
If your highest statistic is Strength, pick Warrior.
If your highest statistic is Sense, pick Ranger.
If your highest statistic is Smarts, pick Medic.
If your highest statistic is Speed, pick Thief.
If your highest statistic is Savvy, pick Bard.
If you have statistics that match in number, then pick whatever you like most of the two! If you’re playing with other people, it’s best that you do not have 2 of the same class on one team (a team equals 4 characters.) You may want to talk to the people you’re playing with to coordinate the classes of your teams.
However, this is just a guide. You can choose whatever class you please!
Step 3: Distribute Red and Green Dice
Depending on your class, certain statistical categories are poor or favored. Favored categories will have green dice, while poor categories will have red dice. Red and green dice are dice which give you guaranteed successes or critical successes, and red dice are dice which give your guaranteed failures or critical failures.
If this is confusing to you, that’s okay! It may make more sense when reading the combat outline. Simply follow the instructions:
If you are a Warrior, change 3 of your Sense dice to red, and 1 of your Strength dice to green.
If you are a Ranger, change 3 of your Strength dice to red, and 1 of your Sense dice to green.
If you are a Medic, change 3 of your Speed dice to red, and 1 of your Smarts dice to green.
If you are a Thief, change 3 of your Savvy dice to red, and 1 of your Speed dice to green.
If you are a Bard, change 3 of your Smarts dice to red, and 1 of your Savvy dice to green.
Note that if you do not have 3 dice to make red simply replace the amount of dice you have. For example, if you are a Thief with only 1 die in Savvy, then make that 1 die red!
If you are playing at level 1, you are done.
Otherwise, the amount of red and green dice you have in these categories will grow and shrink depending on level. See the following:
At level 1: Cats have 3 red dice in the poor statistic, and 1 green die in the favored statistic.
At level 3: Cats have 2 red die in the poor statistic, and 2 green die in the favored statistic.
At level 5: Cats have 1 red die in the poor statistic, and 3 green die in the favored statistic.
Class will also change to subclass once you are level 2 or above! See the next section for further details.
Step 4: Add Your Moves
If you are level 1, all 4 of your moves will already be planned for you. The moves you have are dependent on your class.
There are 5 basic move types:
Melee damage: Roll Strength for the number depleting the target’s stamina. Each success equals 1 point. Must be one tile apart, and the target must roll Speed for a chance to miss. Cannot hit diagonally.
Range damage: Roll Sense for the number depleting the target’s Stamina. Each success equals 1 point. Can hit up to six tiles apart between the two parties, cannot hit only 1 tile apart, and the target must roll Speed for a chance to miss. Can hit diagonally.
Dodge: Increases the amount or type of dice in the next Speed roll the user does.
Heal: Roll Smarts for the number added to the target’s stamina. Each success equals 1 point. Can hit diagonally.
Status: Affects the amount or type of dice for any and all rolls. Placement limitations depend on the move. Stackable over multiple turns.
Level 1 Warrior
Strike - Roll for Melee damage
Shield - Change 1 die to green during next Speed roll
Bandage - Roll for Stamina restoration of oneself
Warrior’s Spirit - Add +1 green die to next Strength roll
Level 1 Ranger
Longbow - Roll for Range damage

Bandage - Roll for Stamina restoration of oneself Ranger’s Spirit - Add +1 green die to next Sense roll
Level 1 Medic
Bite - Roll for Melee damage
Hiss - Roll for Range damage
First Aid - Roll for Stamina restoration of either oneself or a target. Must be 1 tile apart from the target.
Medic’s Spirit - Add +1 green die to next Smarts roll
Level 1 Thief
Slash - Roll for Melee damage
Dagger - Roll for Range damage
Hide - Change 1 die to green during the next Speed roll
Bandage - Roll for Stamina restoration of oneself
Level 1 Bard
Taunt - Roll for Melee damage
Shout - Roll for Range damage
Protection - Change 1 die to green during the next Speed roll
Bard’s Spirit - Add +1 white die to all rolls for one round to the target. Can be used on any target regardless of distance. Cannot be used on oneself
If you are playing at level 1, you are done!
If your character is level 2 or above, your character will need to choose a subclass.
Subclasses solely affect a single, special move called a submove. Each subclass has a single submove, so each cat will only ever have 1 submove. This move replaces one of the four you already have, and will grow in power for each level. Each class has 3 subclasses with 1 submove each.

Once you have determined your character’s statistics. class, level, potential subclass, and moves, it’s now time to get your teams together and battle!
Tumblr media
A single cat square takes up 4 spaces. It is recommended that you place your cats randomly on the board, and that you have as many allies as there are enemies. Meaning, if you have two cats on the A team, put two cats on the B team!
Turn order is decided by the cat with the highest Speed statistic among the group. If two cats are tied for Speed, then automatic green or red dice in the Speed stat are calculated (cats with a green die in the Speed stat will trump a cat without a green die, and cats with a red die will fall below a cat without a red die.) If the Speed stat is still a tie, roll a D6 to determine who is above the other within the tie. Remember, odd numbers are outcome A and even numbers are outcome B.
A turn in combat takes 2 parts:
1. Move
2. Attack
A turn must take place in this order, move then attack, unless a move has been used to designate otherwise.
Movement depends on level:
Level 1 cats may only move 6 spaces
Level 2 cats may only move 7 spaces
Level 3 cats may only move 8 spaces
Level 4 cats may only move 9 spaces
Level 5 cats may only move 10 spaces
You do not have to move the full amount of spaces, and you do not have to move at all if you do not want to!
For diagonal movement, count the spaces horizontally and vertically! You may not move nor attack 6 full spaces diagonally, but you may move 3 spaces to the side and 3 spaces up (this is not the case for Range attacks, which can hit diagonally without the use of slope!)
Attack consists of any of the moves at your cat’s disposal.
Every time a cat is hit with a Range or Melee attack, they must roll to avoid the attack. Cats must roll a number above or equal to the number of damage that they are being attacked for. If this number is not met, all the damage hits!
Remember to always roll for Fortune and Doom before rolling for the outcome!
This is done by using a 20 sided die, and counting the roll as a success if the number is under or equal to the Fortune or Doom statistic. For example, if your Fortune is 15, you need a 15 or below to succeed. If your Doom is 20, you will always succeed at a Doom roll.
If you succeed on Fortune, replace a white die in your roll with a green die! If you have only red and green dice, replace a red die! If you have only green dice, do nothing.
If you succeed on Doom, replace a white die in your roll with a red die! If you have only red and green dice, replace a green die! If you have only red dice, do nothing.
For every roll for outcome, use the amount of six-sided dice that the statistic calls for, with the necessary red and green dice accounted for. A die landing on an even number equals a success, and a die landing on an odd number equals a failure.
For calculating red, green, and white dice, keep the following in mind:
White fail: 0
White success: +1
Green fail: +1
Green success: +2
Red fail: 0
Red success: -2
If you end up with a negative number during your roll, your cat takes damage equal to the negative number. If a cat rolls to attack and ends with a -1 roll, said cat will take -1 damage instead.
Or, if a cat rolls to dodge an attack but ends with a -1 roll, that -1 will be added to the damage taken from the attack.
You must always use an attack to end your turn.
To finish off this briefing on how to play, here are some valuable notes on experience from one of the team members that we tested with!
“If you decide to play with other people, you may choose to have one person work as a GM* and do all the dice rolling and math in-game. Having several people do it themselves can get confusing. If you find yourself in this role, here are some tips.
*GM is a tabletop RPG term that usually stands for game master. (If you've heard of a dungeon master from dungeons and dragons, it's the same thing.) Usually the game master is in charge of controlling non-player characters and the overarching story. However, for this, it's a little different.
1. Colored Dice
If you are using physical dice, I cannot recommend enough to make sure that your d6s (6 sided dice) are red, green, and white (or at the very least 3 distinct colors.) Remembering which one is which when they're all the same is a headache and a half. If you're using an online roller, using 3 separate tabs all with the same dice to keep them separate should do the trick.
2. Enemy Cats
The way we played was 2 teams of 3 cats, each of us controlling a cat on either team. Personally I think this is the best way to play, as one finds themself less caught up in actually winning and more focused on having fun playing a silly game with friends. However, you are welcome to control your cats any number of ways. You could have the GM control all enemy cats and players control their own cat, you could have two people play two teams of opposing cats; whatever you have the most fun doing!
#3 Fortune and Doom
This is easy to forget in the beginning. Whenever ANY cat rolls dice for ANY reason you HAVE to roll for Fortune and Doom first. Have 2d20 (two twenty sided dice) that are green and red (or at least different colors) on hand at all times. It will become second nature to you by the end of the game. Attacking? F&D first. Dodging? F&D first. Healing? F&D first.
#4 Character Sheets
If your character sheets are on physical pieces of paper, it's most useful to have them displayed where you and their player can see. You will both need to check these sheets frequently, and needing to ask: "What's your fortune? How many strength dice do you have? What's your class again?" Becomes annoying for both parties.
#5 Roleplaying
This is totally optional, however I highly recommend it. Talking about how your cat is stricken with grief because their teammate died when they missed their last attack roll is half the fun. Give them backstories! Give them relationships! The world is your oyster.
Final notes:
I personally did not test tile functions and cats above level 1. I plan to in the future, but if you decide to play this, let us know how it goes! Please, please, PLEASE tell us everything that happened if you do this yourself. We want to know both the drama and what technical issues you ran into. Show no mercy in ripping different mechanics apart! This is how we learn! Thanks for reading! Have fun!”
Now, knock eachother out!
Tumblr media
To Summarize: We shared the improved renders of the Snowfoot breed, a preview page of what Guilds will look like, and a breakdown of what we are testing so you can play for yourself!
What to expect next month: Continuation of asset and development production.

"average warrior cats leader is not connected to the dark forest" factoid actualy just statistical error. average warrior cats leader has trained in/gone to hell when they die. Firestar Georg, who was Starclans favoueite little meowmeow and has never seen the dark forest, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

okay so I made this post in a series of rebloged post so I am remaking it again into one single post. So if you don’t know I work at a public library and currently I am page (because I just gradauted and you need a bachalors to be anything other then page)
If you don’t know a library page is the person who takes all the books you return organize them and then reshelve them (we also do other things related to the innovatory of books we have). Anyway at the library I work since its kind of small we only have two pages including me and on the days we work together we split up our task a such I shelve the YA and Juv (kids) which is on one side of the library while the other page shelves the Adult which is on the other side.
Anyway this is my takeaway of the most popular kids books that we have broken down into each section. Note this is not coming from a statistical source but coming from what I see mostly checked out and return in the small library I work at.
Book Series (here is a list of our book series) These are books that are checked out so much that we put them in the book series section. out of all the contenders I feel like are (other then the first one the rest are in no particular order)
1. Warrior Cats
2. Geronimo Stilton
3. Minecraft Fiction
4. My Weird School
Comics again minus the first one the rest are in no particular order
1. Dogman
2. the Splatoon manga
3. Babysitters club
4. Bad Kitty
5. Big Nate
6. Dragon Kingdom
7. WIngs of Fire
Regular fiction again after the first one the rest are in no particular order
1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid
2. Captain Underpants
3. Wings of Fire
4. Big Nate
5. I survived
Step-up aka early chapter books think Junie B. Jones
1. The Magic Tree House
while there are other popular series they no where come close to the popularity of the magic tree house
Primers and Readers (think Dick and Jane, and Toad and Frog)
1. Henry & Mudge
2. Anything by Margaret Hillert (mostly known for dear dragon)
Picture Books instead of series I am going by author for this one
1. Mo Williams (Elephant and Piggie)
Non-Fiction this one is kind of tricky since its useally popular subjects such as dinosaurs, video games, or sports but if I had to choose a series it would be these
1. Battle Animals (basically its who would win in a fight a bear or a gorilla and then gives facts about each animal)
2. The Who Is series ( you know those bios with the big heads)
DVDS
1. Paw Patrol
2. Scooby Doo
3. Lego
