I know I don't have to justify my yesterday's breakdown after seeing my mom's ex, but I just want to make it clear how much I hate this man.

When I was ~14 years old one night I heard/witnessed an argument between them so bad, that the next morning I ran away to my sister. Back then she used to live in this small town near mine, but there was no public transport connecting the towns and she doesn't have a driver's license, so she hitchhiked to pick me up, and we walked along the road until someone picked us up. I left a note at home to my mom, saying where I am and that I don't want to come back as long as her partner lives with us. She didn't acknowledge the contents of the note, but she read it. I ignored her texts and calls the whole day, until in the afternoon she texted me that if I don't come back right now to take care of my younger brother (he was ~8 then) I won't be allowed to visit my cousin the entire winter break. So basically she didn't even ask me to come back because she was worried, but because she wanted me to look after my sibling, and she pretty much blackmailed me to come back. And I had to come back that afternoon, but since it was january it was dark already, and really cold, and no one wanted to pick us up for like half the way. The town my sister lived in wasn't too far, it is a walkable distance, but like, we walked for like over two hours in the cold before someone drove us to my town. And mom never acknowledged the whole situation, she was just angry but didn't talk about any of it. So yeah. I think if his presences made me do that I'm absolutely justified in panicking when I see him now.

#my sister always had very delicate skin so she got frostbite on her hands when she was walking me back #her gloves kinda. stuck to her bleeding hands bc it was so cold and dry #i caught a cold #it was awful #at least we watched a fun movie while i was there iirc #and that was the day when i told my sister how bad it is at home #she knew some of it cause they started dating before she moved out #she didnt know how violent it got though. she suspected it but needed me to confirm it #like those years when they were together were some of the worst years of my life #and it's terrifying that mom refuses to acknowledge the abuse and the trauma #she did for a moment after they broke up #we could finally freely talk about how bad it was. i could express how much i hate the man #but now shes seeing him again #idk if theyre dating or just hanging out but even if they literally just talked id still be upset #she deserves better but at some point i cant help being angry at her for doing this to herself #im still angry at her for letting him get so close to our place yesterday. he didnt come inside but just being at the door is enough #im still jumpy and scared that he might come again #i genuinely hope that one day someone will hit him with a car or beat him to a pulp #bee buzz

deciding if i want my text post about my father for today becuase too many would be whiny to be about how i get very terrifed anytime he raises his voice and thats prob not normal (which i already knew but yk) or a snarky "how come my dads on discord i though that site just pushed and agenda and tricked people into thinking theyre gay? that why i wasnt allowed it right?"

#see i was writing this post from the perspective that the first one was very concering and the second one is funny.#but yk i j realized to people that arent me theyre both concerning. ok.#my immediate response to seeing my dad on discord btw was to leave the official acnh server j bc thats like the most official server im in #and i got Scared. which is dub bc my dad doesnt play acnh why wld he use that server. but i Got Scared.#also ill tell u like the story of this first one which is that like. basically my sibling connected their phone to the internet at school #to reasearch smth and when they did they got a message from our mother abt watching a movie which was prob from sunday bc #apparently my mum was watching die hard then nd they joined for a bit idk but the fact that they got it now meant they kept being like #'thats weird do you guys think my phone is haunted i tihnk it might be' not entirely seriously #i also very like casually kept being like @na its probalby just a glitch those happen'#nd at some point i was very lightly like 'yk i dont think getting into the who thing of if ghosts exist is worth it when u cld just ask abt #the text message later' and rthe thing is fucking !!! my dad was literally agreeing with me !! but like he also seem somewhat actually like #upset and mad over my sibling saying their phone was haunted or at lest he was raising his voice and like seem mad to me #(i think he thought they were bieng fully serious abt the phone being haunted. nd that tht Not True bc it doesnt align w our religous #beliefs. but also idk if he brought up religon at all)#but the thing is my sibling was literally fine but like. auugh i got scared and freaked out #at some point i just put on my headphones nd tried to ignore it until he had moved on yay.#this happended in the car btw u guys need that context bc cars are eveil places for this reason parents are always Saying Shit there . augh #its so dumb like. this is why even when my parents r being fine i cant like. be around them. because they have caused me actual fr trauma #like intense trauma that impacts me every day bc i see them every fucking day. and i cant get away from it. so fun.#anyway. sorry this became a vent. im rewatching disasters at sea because hi one of my special interests is shipwrecks, and i forgot that one of the episodes includes the phrase

#kai rambles #special interest #disasters at sea #shipwrecks #idk how to tag this #its a fun show it you ever want to watch it #theres currently 3 seasons each with 6 epusodes and every episode is on youtube #they do recreations and their effects do not look like they were made in windows movie maker #and theyre very fair and respectful of those who died and their family members #snd they really do give them their moments to talk about their lost loved ones #and some of them have just amazing stories of survival #its a good show #you also get to meet emergency divers from the coast guard and some from the navy and like putting the military bullshit aside #these guys are genuinely heroes #like they jump into below freezing temperatures with waves as high as like 40feet so they can get to people who need rescuing #they do actually risk their lives to save people #also the show goes over what went wrong in this case and what regulations and laws have been changed and put in place since then #to make sure it never happens again #as a brit idk much about the coast guard and idk if its part of the military in america #but they genuinely seem to be very good at their jobs and very much care about saving as many lives as they can #and they seem very very thorough in their investigations rather than just pinning it on someone and going home #obviously this show could be giving me a false picture of it #but somehow a show called disasters at sea does make me feel a little less convinced that i will never get on a boat heading into the ocean #still never doing it though

iwaizumi's pretty good with horror movies

occasionally, he'll be a little caught off-guard with a sudden jumpscare, but he's pretty much fine otherwise

he honestly doesn't really understand what's so scary about them

since i hc iwaizumi to be a realist, he'd be like

it's a movie. it was filmed. those are actors. it's so obvious none of that stuff could ever happen in real life

still, he understands that you're really scared and tries his best to comfort you

time to put those beefy athletic trainer arms to work

he lets you cling onto them for the whole movie and lets you use then as a stress ball

iwaizumi's a traditional, old school, cheesy hopeless romantic. convince me otherwise.

therefore, his method of comfort usually comes in the form of soothing words and back rubs in his arms

its actually quite nice. he lets you scream into his titties (HE HAS TITTIES AND THEYRE MORE ROCK SOLID THAN REGINA GEORGE'S MOM'S. CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE.)

when you're truly scared scared (like heart pounding, sobs racking ur body, you're def gonna get rlly bad nightmares type of scared scared)

he will probs turn it off bc he thinks that no movie ending is worth this much terror

he cares about you a lot, after all. he thinks its slightly amusing when you're screaming your head off at the obviously fake blood, but he would never want you to be fearful for real

rubs your back and whispers soothing words into your ear

"its ok" "i'm right here" "don't worry, i'd protect you if they ever came" type of stuff

after you've calmed down a bit, he'll try to make you laugh

jokes, tickles, anything, really!

he hates seeing you scared. he just wants you to be happy

hate to break it to you but

tooru is equally as scared of horror movies

you guys have to cuddle up in blanket burritos together and scream at every jumpscare

honestly you both only make it through the movie through sheer willpower

if you're crying, he'll try to comfort you, but tbh he's pretty damn scared himself

however, once the movie is over, he's totally fine

overall, he's pretty fun and is good at making everything seem less serious. 8.5/10!

tsukishima kei

honestly, he's as affected by horror movies at the average guy

he doesn't find them as terrifying as oikawa, but he's definitely not as unaffected as iwaizumi

but you'd never know that

why?

he just hides his emotions really, really well

also he just sometimes focuses on the wall behind the tv and drowns out the voices

he just sits through them and bears them, basically

now, why? why in the world would he do this when he doesn't even enjoy it?

to make fun of you, duh. shouldn't that have been obvious?

when you leap 30ft out of your seat into the air, he laughs at you

he'll even add onto your fear by like grazing your opposite shoulder when you aren't looking and pretending he didn't do it

hes a brat

but honestly, he partially enjoys it when you spring onto him at the jump scares, no matter how much he denies it

as we all know, the boys a lil shy about asking for affection

with horror movies, he gets your affection without even asking for it! yay!

but once the movies over, if you're really shaken up, he'll use his giant beanpole arms and spoon you until you fall asleep

but then he'll be an ass about it the following week

pokes, grabs, jabs you and will say,

"huh? it wasn't me. maybe it was the (wtv villain or ghost or spirit or wtv from the movie)!"

2/10. makes fun of you and makes the movie even scarier tbh. the 2 points r only bc of the comfort he gives after its over.

bokuto koutaro

like most things in life, bokuto goes between two extremes, and never crosses into the middle

he's either having super insane cut shots that go BOOM

OR he's doing awful and is in his emo mode

same thing with this

he either isn't affected by it at all and just laughs

or he screams when the character breathes a lil too heavily

now, if he thinks the movie's not scary at all, he's pretty good to watch with if you're super scared

during the scary parts, he lets you cling onto his beefy arm while he just watches the movie in amusement

like there's a really scary scene where there's a huge jumpscare into the most climatic scene in the movie and you're burying your face into his arm but in the background you just hear:

"HAHAHAHAHA! Y/N Y/N! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! HE'S...HE'S GETTING CHASED BY THIS GREY LITTLE CHILD! HAHAHAHA ITHIHIHIT'S EYES LOOK LIKE TAPIOCAAHAHAAHA"

"oh the grey little child is smiling! it's kinda cute! why is the main character guy sweating? he looks like me right after a long game"

"why'd the grey little child pull a purple thing out of his throat? what's that? i wonder what it tastes like though..i think it would be a thick gummy texture, but maybe a little gooey on the inside. definitely grape-flavored. the really sweet artificial good one. oh.. now i want a gummy!"

yeah

he definitely makes it less scary because he makes all the scary stuff seem really stupid

honestly pretty nice. you might not get as many nightmares because of him

i see so many posts on this site being like "i want someone who is obsessed with me" "get me a partner who will smother me" "i need you to want to crawl inside my skin" etc etc etc but what about those of us who want to lovingly sit near each other without speaking and just exist with each other? what about those of us who aren't very traditionally romantic but still crave intimacy? those of us who wont remember to text you 24/7 or always be okay with touching or talking but still have so much love in our hearts and want to be able to express that in our own way? those of us who hate most romcoms because theyre too cheesey and sappy but would be delighted to watch some dumb comedy or a movie thats so-bad-its-good so we can make fun of it the whole time?

ok okokk i may be pushing it but i just cant stop picturing barry circa 2012 with leaving!bucky. i just feel like theyd have the cutest dynamic ever. he gives art student vibes like maybe hes studying film or literature. theyre childhood bestfriends and maybe they were eachother's homoerotic-codependent-friendship canon event. UGHH theyd be so cute stfuu. and maybe bucky and gale are already established and curt is just yearning for a whileee like over a year of slow burn until the three of them are a throuple... idk i just miss curtbuckbucky. you dont have to change your canon for the long fic i just needed to share this idea lmfao

au post | NO ur not pushing it this is such fun world building teehee <33 genuinely this is gonna help me later for drafting! (FUCK MY LIFE HOW IS THIS 2K WORDS. i thought i only had a few thoughts... i was so wrong. my bad chief. enjoy/suffer ig)

ok so this is so funny because i've actually been thinking ab how sweet those two would be together, cute little nerdy besties, and how they'd meet because of course curt has to be in this fic!!

and the first thing my mind went to was the cliche homoerotic codependent friendship trope too LMAO. i'm feeling like maybe they meet on the first day of highschool; neither of them share their english class with any friends, and they end up sat next to each other, and john keeps side–eyeing him because curt looks... interesting. (ie: deep into his emo phase. the fringe. the smudged eyeshadow. chipped black nail polish, band shirts– all things john does not let him live down as they grow up.)

but his eyes settle on some pin on curt's jacket that has some character from his favourite movie or something, and the yap jumps out, john can't control it. blurts out a "you like ___ too?!" and curt's head snaps over and he nods nervously and john takes one look at those big sad charcoal–ringed blue puppy eyes and is like yup. this is the one. will protect with my life.

(tiny headcanon that rly won't have a big effect on plot or anything, but i feel like it just fits very well with john/his character in leaving– dude's got madddd undiagnosed adhd. he's written off as a loud mouth/troublemaker in his childhood, but he wants to be a good kid, his mind is just always going too fast and sitting still is torture and his parents get frustrated and don't look into the root of the problem, trying to discipline it out of him instead. i will heal my inner child by healing him alright)

they're attached at the hip from that moment on and it makes sense to no one because they seem like complete opposites, curt more inclined towards the arts and bookish things and his friends are all the same, whereas john is more inclined towards athletics and science and hangs around that type of crowd as well. but they both love video games and movies and music and they bond over never really feeling like they fit in anywhere particular and both groups of friends get along just fine when they all get together. <3

but yk time goes on, they learn things about themselves as they grow up, and curt and john are so close and spend so much time together that they're already a lot closer than regular friends– they just don't realize it. they think nothing of cuddling up on the couch watching movies together, or sharing a bed when john stays over at curt's place after he gets into a fight with his parents, or being much more interested in spending time together than pursuing girls.

and curt's pretty– john nearly mistakes him for a girl that first day they meet. the summer before their senior year, john practically spends the whole summer at curt's house, and curt's mom doesn't mind; she works long hours and is glad her son isn't spending the summer moping around indoors alone, and she loves john and gets the feeling that her home is a sanctuary for him. one day they're in the backyard lazing around, and they get onto the topic of first kisses, and neither of them have had a proper relationship outside of those classic week–long middleschool flings that don't actually mean anything, so there's not much to talk about.

but being dumb teenage boys, they start worrying about "what if we're really bad at kissing and no girls wanna go with us to senior prom this year" etc. and one of them pops the suggestion of practicing together, and thus begins a summer of sweet stolen kisses and hand holding and experimenting and dancing around calling it something. it ends when the summer does because they realize that they both work better as friends, but they're as close as ever and both definitely learn they aren't straight (and they probably make a cute pact– "if we aren't in love by the time we're thirty, we'll just marry each other.")

i don't see them really doing much together because they're young and shy and inexperienced, but it's enough for john to decide that yeah, he definitely likes guys too, but that's all that really amounts to (until he meets gale) because he's growing up in a small town in wisconsin and it's not the easiest/most accepting place to find other queers. john probably ends up dating a real sweet girl during his last year of highschool, but she's going away for college and john's going to a local one so it ends amicably at the end of summer, both of them staying close friends. (if we wanna get sickeningly wholesome, maybe she ends up pining for a girl while john's pining for gale and they share their little stories and give each other advice and facetime every week to catch up <3)

(++ curt ends up falling head over heels for ken, who he meets through john when curt and john's friend groups get together for movie nights or summer parties. john pretends to be annoyed at how lovesick they are when they first start crushing, but he ends up matchmaking and being the one to push them to confess their feelings after graduation because he loves his friends.)

BUT THEN, leaving this fic's 'canon' to elaborate on the throuple stuff you said! i miss curtbuckbucky too </3

in a separate universe, curt doesn't end up with ken, and as much as he loves his friendship with john and agrees that a relationship wouldn't have worked at that time in their lives, he spends that first year of college pining. when john starts talking about some guy named gale during their second year, he's a little sad, but mostly protective, because "what do you MEAN he's in his 30s??" and "he's a BIKER?"

but john eventually introduces him to gale after a few months of telling curt about him, probably once he and gale actually start seeing each other, and curt immediately gets it. and then he's in double–hell because not only is he a bit (a lot) in love with his best friend, but he's blushing every time said best friend's new bf talks to him, and they're gonna notice eventually if they haven't already and he feels so guilty.

more yearning ensues and john is dense and doesn't realize but gale picks up on it, maybe even notices john doing a bit of pining of his own that john's not fully aware of. and his heart twists because his mind goes to his own insecurities about how john should be seeing someone his own age, so he sits john down and opens up a conversation about it. john is adamant that he's very, very happy with gale, but he tells gale about his and curt's past and admits that he has always still had feelings for him, but insists that it's not something he'd ever pursue, that he values curt's friendship more.

gale throws him off by saying he wouldn't mind if john wanted to explore those feelings, and at first john gets anxious gale is calling things off with the two of them and this is his way of softening the blow, but gale reassures him that's not the case, that he's very happy with their relationship. he just encourages that if he wants to talk to curt and feel things out, he wouldn't be opposed to john and curt seeing each other as well– gale's often busy, after all, so it would be nice for john to have someone else, as long as curt's comfortable with that kind of arrangement and as long as john keeps gale in the loop.

they decide to kinda just feel it out as they go, but soon enough gale starts coming home from work every so often to find the two of them curled up on his couch together, sweet and innocent. curt's wary at first, always slightly detaching himself from john when gale's around, but gale is always friendly and doesn't change up his routine, settling on the couch at john's other side like it's not a big deal at all, wanting to show curt he's welcome there, not wanting john to feel guilty.

it's another scenario where lines just sorta start to blur over time, curt spending a lot of time over at gale's house, and gale sees the way curt looks at him, probably noticed it from the first time they met but chalked it up to nerves at the time. curt's an angel and he's grown quite fond of him, but he doesn't want to overstep, so he leaves it up to curt, thinking maybe the boy will mention it to john one day and john will in turn come to gale to talk about it.

and eventually that happens, just like gale thought it might. curt's just gone home and john's head is in his lap on the couch while they watch tv, and john asks "what do you think about curt?" and gale tells him that he's sweet and he loves how much john smiles when he's around him, the usual. "so you like him?" john pushes, and gale immediately has a feeling where this conversation is going, drags his eyes away from the tv to look down at john.

says "of course" easily, and lets john take his time forming his thoughts. john ends up telling him that he and curt were fooling around earlier while gale was at work (and god help gale for the images that puts in his head) and that he'd made some offhand comment about how curt better hurry up if he doesn't want gale to come home and catch him half naked on their couch. and john's all shy when he says "and curt, uh. y'know. that... did it for him" with a vague gesture LOL. gale never fails to find it amusing how certain things can fluster john to talk about after all they've done together.

"so, anyway. i asked him about it after, if it was a coincidence, and he was real shy about it, but he did admit after a whole lot of apologizing that he likes you." gale listens to him nervously get his words out, petting his hair encouragingly, waits for him to be done before he asks "how do you feel about that?" only to watch the flush return when john mumbles "it's hot."

this is getting sooo long i need to take away my own typing privileges, but basically that's how things would start between the three of them– john and gale agree that gale will let himself be a bit flirty with curt and see how curt takes it. obviously this goes a little too well when curt gets hot and bothered sat between john and gale during a movie night with john's hand on his knee and gale's arm resting on the couch behind him while he plays with curt's hair.

the movie is forgotten when gale's finger catches on a tangled curl and curt doesn't bite back the little whine that slips out in time and john's head snaps over and he mumbles a "fuck" when he realizes what's happened, and his lack of filter comes out to play when he turns to curt and asks "curt, can gale kiss you?" and curt turns to gale with big doll eyes and nods.

john ends up palming himself over his shorts as he watches gale coax curt into his lap, face hot and pupils blown as he gets to see both his guys make out in front of him, almost dizzy seeing curt get so shy and needy and pliant because when it's just the two of them, he and curt are both very balanced in their dynamic. they've been such close friends for so long that not much gets the other truly shy like that, and they're always quick to voice their wants and crack jokes while fooling around and all. so to see curt get so flustered in that way with gale has him lightheaded, and by the time they all collapse into gale's bed at the end of the night, john's convinced this is the best decision he's ever made.

there's a lot of pining on curt's end because for a while it's kinda just sex when it's the three of them, and he loves it but he also finds himself wanting more but feeling too scared to voice it because he feels like he's intruding. but eventually they all get their shit sorted out; curt fits into their relationship just right in a way gale and john never intended or expected, and gale falls for curt just as much as john has and curt does the same with gale.

gale's got two sweet things glued to his side now and man, do they ever give him a run for his money, and if he'd thought john had too much energy (and stamina) it's nothing compared to keeping up with both of them, but he wouldn't have it any other way. <3

throuple things won't be happening in the actual fic, but i do love the idea of exploring the dynamic the three of them might have in a spin–off of that au so this was rly fun thx :-) maybe i'll write a pwp oneshot set in that universe as an excuse to write more curtbuckbucky once the fic is done LOL we'll see!

Here's an idea: Subaru introduces the concept of "Coraline" to the camp members on Halloween, and then the characters react differently.

I remember reading a Japanese fanfic series on Pixiv where Subaru told the camps (except for Priscilla's) and witches the famous classic fairy tales of Earth(Snow White, Cinderella, and the Little Match Seller etc as well as two nativeJapanese folklores), pretty much everyone was a little freaked out after hearing those stories and uniformly worried about Subaru's mental state, like "Your hometown actually tells such horrific and cruel tales to children?!"XD

ah sorry i think this is one of my asks thats gotten lost in my drafts/inbox so its been here for months lajsdlf. but!! thank you for the ask, yeah this is such a cute idea, subaru totally would love to tell more tales from earth im sure!! as we know from canon (red and blue oni) but i think he'd have fun telling these stories pfft. and also theyre from home u know? :,) so bittersweet! but yeah its an adorable idea ldjfsldf even though of course many fairy tales and folklore are kind of horrific hah but adorable and horrific are very subaru traits that go hand in hand. i think just the other day i was writing a small scene in one of my fanfic wips myself where subaru tells stories from earth?? :O its a neat idea!! and totally in character for him. and coraline is such a choice ajdflsdjf. i adore coraline though for sure (though ive only watched the movie hah) (and i adore the work that was put into the movie's artwork for sure!!). but yes this is such a cool idea :O !!

- Aran is a unironic radiohead listener, he got caught listening to it at least 3 times but is trying to gaslight everyone into thinking it was a collective fever dream

- one of the main reasons the wvba doesnt go on holiday together is due to the fact most of the boxers suffer from insomnia & other stuff that stops them from sleeping normally and generally having shit sleeping schedules

- the wvba sometimes has movie nights, everyone takes turns picking movies, aran takes advantage of this and picks the worst movies possible on his turn just to piss everyone off

- King Hippo used to have the habit of eating anything handed to him as a child, thanks to this you can ask him what (insert random object) tastes like and he'll answer it honestly, tide pods? Refreshing and a very good texture, wood? Too dry. A loofa? Disgusting. Shoelaces? if cleaned before eating: unique. You name it, he's eaten it.

- bald bull usually drinks coffee without thinking about the fact hes not gonna be able to sleep properly, this causes him to not be able to stand still for more than a few seconds

- don actually has a lot of wounds on his hand from picking roses with thorns, being the reason he cant use hand sanitizer most times

- Mac has this one weezer shirt thats in horrible condition he wears as pjs, hes had it before he started boxing and still has it, it smells like death and doc hates it but cant bear to tell Mac to throw it out because he feels like it would come off as rude

- bull HATES physical touch, he absolutely cannot tolerate it, the most contact he'll make with someone is either a punch, a highfive or an awkward side hug, it just agitates him

- super macho man breaks down doors without knocking, literally just breaking a door because he thinks it makes him look "totally tough"

- Glass Joe is really good at ice-skating and has won a few competitions, hes considering doing it profesionally but is just doing it for fun now

- Disco kid has shitty hearing thanks to blasting his ears out with music 99% of the time, he has tinnitus + a ruptured eardrum but ignores it

- gabby jay is a very good baker, he sometimes makes bread in the shape of little animals when sad, baking is basically his therapy

- narcis is scared of the dark but will not admit it, he just comes up with excuses like "what if i trip on something and break my nose?" or "i dont wanna bump into stuff it pisses me off" And it somehow works

- pizza pasta will scold you if you break spaghetti into 2 around him, hes a huge pasta gourmet and will bully your cooking skills, fix those rigatoni making skills or go back to buying craft mac and cheese, bitch

- bear hugger drinks raw eggs from mugs like its coffee, he has offered it to everyone and only aran has accepted it once, after that incident aran got food poisoning and had to stop eating omelettes for a while

- there are only 4 boxers not allowed to cook in the wvba: bald bull, bear hugger, aran and soda popinski, bald bull keeps accidentally burning stuff, aran keeps intentionally burning stuff, bear hugger eats everything raw and soda keeps trying to add soda & other fizzy drinks to the food and ending up making some dubious mixtures, none of them are allowed into the kitchen under any circumstances unless its watching milk boil to make sure it doesnt spill

- someone once tried to cut heike's hair as a joke, 10 injured 975 dead

- hoy will call anyone son/child/daughter unless theyre older than him, hes basically adopted everyone and no one minds it

Evil thoughts and headcanons about benny and gcbc below

Benny is mad-scientist-adjacent in my mind. He’s almost one of those but hes an engineer instead. Still a freak.

Benny has facial hair. its in the storyboards and I cling to it like a koala to a tree during a forest fire

Benny IS short but he floats to peoples height so most don’t even notice

Old ass men. Benny would be born sometime before the 80s so he could actually grow up during that time! 1970 something.

For that matter, GCBC is also old as hell. Similar age to benny but he did not age anywhere near as well 😭😭 UGLY!

Benny and GCBC play fight like dogs.

Benny is NOT SKINNY!! this man eats ice cream every day he would not be skinny! no!

And for that matter, GCBC isn’t skinny either. Fat GCBC or death!

Hard of hearing benny. He works with spaceships those things are loud!

I dont think benny would care about pronouns. I usually use he/him for benny but i really dont think hed have a preference like everyone calls him he/him so he just goes with it.

On the other clawhand, GCBC is WOKE!!! He/it good cop he/she bad cop, collectively he/they because they are literally TWO GUYS!!!

I feel like in the drafts for the lego movie benny was just absolutely deranged and they had to tone it down a bit for the final film but i love that he was such a freak! like what was his issue. all the removed stuff ive seen with benny was just him absolutely tweaking. AND HE KILLED GCBC he did that in the draft script and it was so awesome and he didnt even feel bad i love it!!

outside of like actual stuff from tlm i also think people infantilize benny a lot and its fun to just make him absolutely horrible to spite that.

also! Benny has brain damage the evil way… I project a lot for this cuz GIRL ME TOO! he has poor control over his own limbs and cant hold a train of thought very well and i dont want to continue cuz i takea lot of this specifically from my own experiences but those are just a couple things 🤔

I feel insane talking about this but i swear bad cop has an interest in cowboys. when emmet and lucy escape it seems like the first place she checks is the old west (i know its jsut movie logic… BUT STILL!), the folks in the old west recognize her theyre literally shaking cuz shes SCARY!! and she knows her way around the place pretty well which both of those are probably from her job but IDC!! now when she said “get off my train” WHAT IF what if she just felt protective over old west propertyy also in the behind the bricks video she mentions cowboys even though they were NOT that big of a part of the movie!! evil speculating on a fictional characters interests 😭😭😭

if they were birds gcbc would be an owl and benny would be a blue footed booby. also not about my main slop characters but related to bird legos, metalbeard would be an albatross.

continuing with owl cop, hes an owl because owls have large circular eyes, yet their eyes can also be very reflective, and they can twist their heads about.

if they were cats gcbc would be a tiger just so they could say “you bit the wrong tigers tail” and benny would be a serval

if they were dogs gcbc would be a german shepherd, obvious choice, and benny would be a schnauzer

if they were fish gcbc would be good cod bad cod just for the name and benny would be a pleco

when picking good cop up he would curl up like a happy kitty hed really like being picked up and when picking bad cop up he would scramble and claw at you in fear of falling (she is a frightened animal)

Good cop would watch kids cartoons in his free time, if he had any 💀

I say this as a joke but i dont have any way that i think gcbc wouldve come to be so its basically my headcanon even if its a joke. Good cop ate bad cop in the womb. Thats why theyre like that. And ma cop was terrified because she was set to have twins and only had one baby. 💀💀

Benny has definitely been hit with the “Hes smart but he doesnt apply himself” thing in the past.

is the trolls tv show worth watching?

i think the beat goes on is VERY funny, and its characterisation of creek specifically is HILARIOUS even though its not at all like how he was in the movie, and its got some REALLY fun side characters like tug duluth and sky toronto, and its like........ the only way you get to see anything about the snack pack (other than creek, cooper, biggie and tiny). but branch and poppy really dont act anything like they do in the movies, theyre basically stand ins that share similar designs (branch is green, and poppy has her loose hair instead of her ponytail 😭). but i do recommend tbgo! its hilarious, and even though broppy dont have the SAME characterisation, they still have some VERY cute moments ("i have layers, branch, contradictions make me endearing 😊" "...you are pretty endearing 😒")

trollstopia, ive only finished one season, but it... is not as funny as the first cartoon. and i hate val, shes one of those characters that is intended to be "has a tough exterior but is sweet on the inside, the kind of cool meanness that you want to impress" but so far she just ends up "annoying thundercunt bully". and it seems MUCH heavier on the "branch bullying" front than tbgo was, which is saying something since in tbgo they forced him to dress up as a baby after getting harassed the whole episode by trolls hes supposed to consider his friends! but i DO love dante, holly, minuet and demo, and i think it might be worth it for them alone

hello io!!!! you've activated my "she talks about adam sandler for way too long" cutscene so i hope ur ready for that! this is going to lead me to rewatch Jack and Jill (2011) starring Adam Sandler, just so i can give u the full answer bc my Adam scholarship needs to be THOROUGH do u understand???? i hope u can live with the knowledge that uve made me do thjs. also i forgive u. this is a pride month post now btw.

Adam Analysis beneath the cut. tl;dr umm probably not as much as u would imagine like it could be So much worse but its. kinda okay at points too? Theres Nuance.

so even if u havent seen all of Adams many films like i have, maybe ur the average person whos probably only seen 10 or 20 of them who knows. u could probably imagine the kinds of jokes he tells. just general mean spirited ribbing towards anyone who isnt adam or like adam right? standard fare for mainstream movie comedy. so when it comes to Jokes Adam Tells About Women, we basically get two categories: jokes for women adam wants to have sex with, and jokes for women who Adam thinks are undesirable and does not want to have sex with.

when it comes to jokes about trans women, or the closest depiction of trans women an adam sandler film is going to get, they more closely align with the ugly woman jokes, except they arent really seen as women, so the joke is just kind of "ur a man!" when its literally a male friend of adam's in a dress pretending to be a trans woman, u know? not fun (btw friend of adam is the new horrible slang for id'ing other gay people tell everyone u know). there are only a feeew instances from what i remember of a stock crossdresser/trans woman joke character even being in a Sandler film, and usually u can like feel the disgust everyone has for these characters for like the 10 secodns theyre on screen to be joked at.

in Jack and Jill however, theres like.. kinda none of that. like shes jacks twin sister at the end of the day and everyone gets along with her because shes family even if shes loud and annoys people. spoilers for... jack and jill... but the whole plot is jack learning to love his sister again and not be annoyed by her very presence, learning the importance of family along the way. the jokes are mostly "god i hate my loud and annoying twin sister" more than anything. from what I remember anyway (this is before my rewatch btw this is just preliminary info jeez), the jokes are more aligned with undesirable women jokes toward jill than flat out transphobia (say, "ur even manlier than ur brother wow!" vs "u are a man") anyway i will now be watching Jack and Jill (2011) starring Adam Sandler so ill be right back.

okay hi. so they definitely characterize jill as being i guess the larger presence of the two, like they show a home movie montage of the two growing up and thats continually the joke in those clips that shes just "more than" jack. hairier, fartier, stronger, but also more emotional and familial, as in wanting to be close with her twin brother than he would like to be with her. in these ways shes made to be both more masculine and more feminine than jack. although shes made to be more masculine, as the film defines it, it then has many moments where its like "yeah despite her just being adam sandler in a dress, shes 'actually a woman'" like, if anything these moments are transphobic in that they ask "is Jill a guy?" and usually the answer is "no of course not shes a real woman not some man in a dress!" not said with such explicit terms but it's then implied by asking the question that it would be worse if the answer was yes. the first of these woman affirming instances is the honestly the best, so i will describe it for u thus, because youre here for analysis that is also just plot summary Goddamn It.

so theyre all in a movie theater when jill gets a call and starts talking really loudly, annoying everyone as the film has her do. jack calls her a psycho and she starts crying and runs out of the theater. one theatergoer remarks "way to make a chick cry, dude." and another inquires, "that was a chick?" and as jack runs to get jill he pours his popcorn on the guy and shuts him down like "yeah that was a chick!" like in one light its just the film reminding us and affirming and that she is in fact a real, normal cisgendered woman through adam owning this guy epically, but if ur absolutely insane you could see this as the biggest Adam Sandler Trans Ally W if there were to ever be one. just. compared to everywhere else that couldve gone, its. good? to see adam actually defending the "man in a dress" comedic character for once. even if it had to be him in the dress while being 100% cis, actually, for him to cool it with the transphobic remarks.

another moment is when jill is lifted by her soccer team to celebrate her helping win a match... yeah dont worry the context wont help... so as shes being lifted someone looks under her dress and is like "yeah shes not a guy" and gives another guy money like they made a bet? probably the weirdest example. but then she also makes sure to mention later that she does have periods so we all know the character of Jill Sadelstein played by Adam Sandler from Jack and Jill (2011) starring Adam Sandler twice, is in fact a real woman. idk like its playing into the comedy of this just being adam sandler saying that and like "haha hes not a woman" but idk if i would call that transphobic, one could perhaps say hes doing drag for this movie and like drag performers play with that all the time right?

idk it feels like the movie hairspray where the role of the mom is played by a man in a dress where that's just kinda the joke about it the whole time but it's still drag and kinda taken seriously?is that transphobic? eh probably a little. if anythjng it just feels like a drag performance in kinda poor taste where ur waiting for him to say the things he's said before about man in dress characters and then. he just doesn't?. uhhh llike later on theres a part where jack dresses as jill to try and fool al pacino who is in love with jill btw. al pacino is in love with jill but she doesnt like him back so she wont go meet him. anyway jack is getting changed in the bathroom and theres an attendant there who sees him come out full jillmoding. he proceeds to grope jacks fake melon boobs to adjust them and gives an approving italian hand smooch 🤌 mwah u know. its a little okay. i like it.

um there is also a moment where the joke is that pretransition caitlyn jenner is there, but its 2011 so she hadn't come out yet. its jarring and feels very transphobic bc they deadname her, but it was before she came out so that was... just her name at the time. so its okay, but feels wrong. a very strange coincidence for some of the only transphobia coming from this movie when it could have it fucking everywhere to be completely unintended and the result of someone just transitioning after the movie was done being made.... didnt know where to put this observation but it had to be known.

All Of This being said tho, u kinda need to have adam-vision like me to have a tolerance for his... we'll call them antics. only after many other sandler films did i get to this one and be like "oh wow that wasn't that bad given what i was expecting!" its still not a good movie, but compared to every single other one hes made or been in, its like. definitely in the middle of the pack. if we can take adam sandler acting in drag being the kinda silent joke for an hour and a half its. an okay watch. best watched with friends so u can talk about it/over it if u want. i would perhaps even call it camp at times if i had worse judgement. it definitely could have been worse! then again maybe i truly am numb to adam and i just didnt see anything wrong with it who knows! i am possibly completely full of shit. hope this helps 👍

I have been going insane over fictional men for as long as I can remember, and I've noticed something: I have never been truly obsessed with a fictional woman. Ever. And I think I might know why. I don't know if it's the media I watch not making good female characters or what. I refuse to believe its me not liking women. Cuz that makes no sense. I have no guy friends and I have several girlfriends who I love. It's not that I don't find girls funny. I die laughing at several women on social media and also my friends. I just think it might be media not being able to make good, fun, complicated female characters. Like, all the lesbian movies I've seen end terribly, and if they don't end terribly, they are filled with terrible things. It's always so serious and depressing. Women aren't allowed to be goofy in most media, I don't think. I can't remember the last time I saw a goofy female protagonist who didn't grow out of her goofiness. Like, princess diaries is a really good example. Mia starts out as "ugly" clumsy, awkward and uncoordinated. I loved her. But once she gets her makeover and becomes more princessly that kind of goes away. And I love princess mia. I fucking love her. But they barley kept any of her physical comedy. It's just her jokes. Which are top tear don't get me wrong. She's probably my favorite female character that I've seen if I'm being honest. Haunting of hill house and bly manor also have amazing female protagonists but they don't count cuz they are also depressing! But in a very fulfilling way. God I love those shows. This also isn't me being in love with male protagonists and not female. Hardly any of the fictional men i lose my mind over i am attracted to. Just really really like them. I want to bundle them up and keep them away from the terrible realities they have created for themselves. Honestly, I think it's cuz most fictional women have the same personality. Theyr not allowed to get dirty. They can't be stupid and make dumb decisions, they can't be damaged so much that they can't function (that makes them the villain), they can't be slutty without being abused. I also don't really read that many books, and I don't plan to, so I'm mostly talking about movies and shows. I just wish that they would make female characters who are ridiculous more often.

Moon: Theyre all annoying. [he sounds fond then looks at number 5] Hm. Well we all have our wires still. the cords. I am the one who uses it the most but i would rather not test my luck with bringing someone with me up there sorry, friend.

Sun: number 6!: oh... I do not wish to talk about that type of thing i am very sorry friend. Number 7! We still live in the pizzaplex! we have a room thats been modified so its more homey now! [he smiles] we can however leave to explore the city if we wished! we just gotta tell people where and when we are going and for how long! [he giggles] and number 8! [he frowns] why would you ever watch something so scary, friend! you shouldnt be watching those things! [he tsks and wiggles his finger at you, disapproving]

Moon: why watch scary things when we have the scariest thing right here [taps Eclipse who frowns. He looks sad, eyes distant]
