It’s not an issue yet, but it will be eventually... I have a horrible irrational fear of 3D generated water. It typically doesn’t bother me in video games because it’s all cleaned up and generally believable looking, but in modeling programs like Blender it’s always been this huge Ordeal and I don’t expect the Creation Kit to be any easier.

#rangercamp is up near the top of a mountain so theres not much water to worry about #this was unintentional but fortuitous #i also noticed earlier today that its hmmmmm super close to where the opening cutscene starts #you cant see it from the cutscene; takes too long for the black to fade away #of course immediately after noticing this i tested the cutscene to make sure it still works and it does no effect #my mod doesnt share any cells with it and obviously id have seen the markers if id started mucking about in those cells in particular #but hmmm idk if id have started it so close to there if id known initially #its fine tho they dont interfere with each other #also idk if this is like. good modding practice or w/e #but the patrols they do in the area around their camp lead them past a place where random encounters spawn #so they do occasionally get into fights #its fine tho theyre essential #in my defense i didnt tell them to walk all the way over there i just didnt understand how the ai prioritizes pathing #and then i decided to let them continue to do it that way because *checks notes* i dont know how to make them not do it that way #also i like it better but you know #anyway while i was testing for some reason instead of loading random encounters the game kept loading random unowned horses in that spot #which. like. okay. why not #and every time he passed one on a patrol candaith would stop and walk over to it and look at it for a minute #(later testing revealed this to be a coincidence due to the fact that the AI thinks theres a path there and has to pause and recalculate) #(but it was still a fun little detail)

ngl, I'm beginning to take issue with how in conversations about anti-intellectualism almost automatically, the face of girls and women will be slapped on the problem.

#'all those tiktok girls who only like marvel films and' - why do you always say girls and women? are the guys filling opera halls instead? #'women in their mid 20s who still only read YA novels' okay sure that's an example and relevant discussions can be had #but it reminds me of the mocking tone in which people speak of 'chick-lit' to use women's interest as an indicator of lower value #while in fact women are reading more than men in EVERY single genre of fiction. Women are doing a lot of (often unpaid) labour #supporting libaries supporting theatres supporting cultural events #meanwhile there is a pretty big overlap between toxic masculinity and anti-intellectualism #(especially misogyny and homophobia) #especially when it comes to things like ballet or opera or musical or generally dance #in fact it is often the female investment in specific things that makes them less 'valuable' in general consciousness #for thousands of years the theatre was well-respected and a high form of art - and now it's a 'wife-thing' #the father who will teach his son that theatre and dance are for girls - how is that never an example for anti-intellectualism

So I’ve seen several catboy Danny prompts, but hear me out: All of Amity becoming so ecto-contaminated that everyone becomes something akin to a mythological creature. And Danny? He becomes a Nekomata- a two-tailed cat that was said to be able to shapeshift into humans for mischief, including straight up haunting people and stealing corpses. Vlad ends up a kitsune- which is already associated with taking on human forms to seduce people and with things such as foxfire and possession. Tucker ends up a sphinx sort of creature- “It’s not fair you guys can just float around while I have to figure out how to use these stupid wings when I could be coding!”- and Sam ends up a dryad of some sort, they aren’t entirely sure what but that’s what they joke it is so…

The people sent to investigate this city are more than slightly freaking out.
