Having an uncommon/specific phobia is SOOOO EMBARRASSING. Like I’m not bothered by all the normal things like spiders and snakes and the dark etc but a fucking mannequin or animatronic or wax figure will take me out. Humiliating

#I get all freaked and uncomfortable in natural history museums and shit because the figures freak me out 😭😭#and at theme parks I can’t go on dark rides and shit that have animatronics because I’ll Get Scared #I avoid the whole section at Halloween stores that have the animatronics and figures n whatnot #SO embarrassing for someone that generally is like “fearless”#I can handle a snake coming at me but not a silly little robot? embarrassing #surprisingly fnaf didn’t scare me. it’s ONLY real life animatronics #mascot costumes wig me out also but a little less #other Specific Bones Phobias include: IRL things that set off the uncanny valley instinct in my head. this includes apes for some reason #submechanophobia and the adjacent megalophobia #and specifically huge massive sea creatures like giant squids and octopi #the only Normal(tm) big fear I have is the ocean

brb currently going insane over this art tutorial i found while rummaging thru pinterest for art refs that somehow implies fucking blackface is ok but stylization is not
