what's that kind of tired where everything is exhausting, but your mind is running a million miles an hour? where you don't/can't do anything, but you're remembering all the things you should do soon? where you have all the thoughts, but can't seem to verbalize them?
Yet another poem dedicated to my boss, for whom I’ve been working for 5+ years. Here is the content:
I have been working for you
For a long, long time
And I’ve been working really hard
In fact, there have been times
When I have worked on weekends
And there’ve also been times
When I’ve worked beyond midnight
Apart from this
I’ve also faced numerous hardships along the way
Take 2018, for…
You probably finished that statement without any prompting because you have heard it many, many times, especially for those of us who are older.
It’s that old saying that “if you want something done well, give it to a busy person”.
It may be an old saying, but like so many others, it is not true.
What is true, unfortunately, is that too often those people in organisations who are really good…
In today’s fast-paced world, work overload has become a common challenge that many individuals face. As responsibilities increase and deadlines loom, finding a balance between professional and personal life can be a daunting task.
Understanding Work Overload:
Defining the Boundaries: Recognizing the thin line between a healthy workload and overload is crucial. Setting realistic expectations and…
Steve walking around with a hair tie on his wrist all the time. He has no use for it and Robin doesn’t either since she cut her hair, but he’s picked up on the fact that 99% of the time Eddie doesn’t have one so he knows sooner or later, he’ll end up handing it over and replacing it with a new one on his wrist the next time he leaves his house
Eddie has the neurodivergent thing where one minute he’s fine with his hair down but then when he gets stressed and overstimulated suddenly all it’s going to take to push him over the edge into a sensory overload meltdown is one more piece of hair touching his neck at the wrong moment. But he also forgets to bring hair ties and even when he remembers, he can’t find where he left them and even when he can, he hates the feel of them squeezing his wrist all day so they don’t last that long there
It takes a while before Eddie even realizes that Steve’s specifically stocking them for him. At first, Steve just holds them out when Eddie gets overwhelmed to the point of holding his hair off his neck with both hands because he once again doesn’t have anything to tie it up with. And at first Eddie just figures Steve has them lying around from the girls he hooks up with or something, but he doesn’t really think about it much. It isn’t until Eddie’s stressed instinct is to turn to Steve and find him already holding a hair tie out like he can somehow sense that he’s going to need it that Eddie starts to question why he always has one, no matter how many Eddie takes and wears once before losing them to the void in his van or locker or bedroom never to be seen again
This is a poem I am writing to relieve myself from the stress and rigours of a huge research project. Here goes the content:
A research project is always going to be a challenge
Thanks to the extremely demanding nature of work
Coupled with tight deadlines
Not to mention, almost zero margin for error
Of course, any project will definitely be a challenge
But a project that is taller than even…
So, I don’t normally do this, but something urgent came up, and I really need y’all to read this. There’s a TL;DR at the bottom of this post, but I strongly advise reading this post all the way through to gain more context on the situation at hand.
I don’t know all the details, but there’s this act floating around in the US called the “Kid’s Online Safety Act” - or KOSA , if you will. Here’s a description of it:
In summary, this law, if put in place, would aim to wipe out sites that could provide youth with life-saving resources, or even mention topics related to the LGBTQIA+ community and suicide prevention.
Now, obviously this is only a thing in America, so you’d think it wouldn’t affect the rest of the world, right?
Well, not exactly.
So you know how fandom sites such as Tumblr, AO3 and Wattpad provide an escape for many people across the world who are going through hard times (to put it simply)? I don’t mean to scare anyone, but if this law passes, these sites may be negatively affected globally.
Here’s a TikTok I found by a creator known as omarsbigsister that explains it better. It’s mainly about AO3 but Tumblr and Wattpad are mentioned too:
We all know why fandom is so important. Many people, as I’ve mentioned, use sites such as the ones previously listed to escape the troubles of their everyday life. In addition, fanfiction sites in particular provide creative outlets for writers across the globe. This law could possibly destroy this form of escapism and a creative outlet.
I’ve linked a link tree found in the above TikTok creator’s link tree at the bottom of this post. Please sign them regardless of where you’re from.
Also, y’all know I usually don’t ask for clicks, but interacting with this post in some way or even making a post of your own like this to spread the word would also be of great help!
We have to stop KOSA from being passed. The lives of America’s youth and future of fandom depend on it.
Thanks in advance!

TL;DR: KOSA is putting the lives of American youth and the future of fandom as a whole at risk and we need to act now.
Edit: Since this post is still getting engagement (thank you all for the support!), I should mention that I made a second KOSA post highlighting how dangerous the bill is outside of fandom-related things. I highly suggest checking that one out, since the info provided is very important! It’s the second-latest post on this blog excluding the pinned post. Thanks!
