You're My Proud College Girl

Flipping through pages of my history college textbook I sighed feeling a headache rising in my brain. I have been studying the material for hours knowing that midterms were coming up and I can't seem to remember half of what we've been taught so far. Footsteps entered the living room of the Salvatore's house but I don't bother looking up from my notes. "Hey babe, what are you still looking at those books for. I thought you would be done studying by now." He sits down beside me on the couch his hands resting on his knees just staring softly at me. Damon and I started dating before I graduated from high school. He doesn't see the point in it but since I'm human he won't compel me a job because I told him I wanted to earn it the right way and not cheat.

"I thought I was but - my mind just can't seem to remember half of this. I've been putting in the hours to study and do the reading but I just can't...maybe I'll just have to retake the class and try better." Throwing my hands up in the air laying back on the cough. The fire cracking softly in my ear as I sighed heavily wishing this wasn't so hard. I didn't realize that my high school teachers made it easy on us until I met this professor. He acted like his class was the only one when in reality I have like a couple more on top of it. "Hey now that's not how you felt last semester. So you have a hard professor do you want me to take care of him. I'll eat him or compel him. Whatever you want. I just hate to see you so frustrated when all I see is how awesome you are. I'm proud of you, Y/n." My boyfriend spoke intertwining my hand in his leaning forward and kissing my forehead where I leaned into his touch finding it comforting.

Lifting my head up from his shoulder my eyes locked onto his icy blue orbs. Even though he acts like the tough vampire guy he is sweet on me. He's spent time helping me study too when I didn't even ask him too. "What did you say, Damon?" Blinking my eyes I couldn't really grasp how he found me awesome when he was a vampire with super powers and I'm just a human. He tucks hair behind my ear smiling longingly at me. His right hand resting on my check feeling me lean into his palm. "I'm proud of you, Y/n. You're putting in a lot of effort and not just saying you can't do it. But how about you take a break from studying and we go to the grill for some food." I could've sworn he used his vampire hearing as a cheat sometimes because my stomach growled seconds after that. Nodding my head slowly he gets to his feet pulling me in for a hug. "Thank you, Damon." He squeezes me closer to his embrace with my arms around his neck. "Anything for my college girl."

Got some things done this week! Turned in my last thinking journal for my critical writing class, completed my final sketches for my drawing class and now I'm currently working on my final project for that class plus the project I have to finish up!

I'm really worried about my grade in my drawing class since my professor is a harsh grader and my art isn't that "realistic" but as only as I pass the class and not failing, I'll be fine ૮(˶╥︿╥)ა

Ready for this class to be over so I don't have to wake up around 6 am anymore!!!

I have lots of plans for the summer so I'm very excited to be back home!! I made a goal tracker on notion and everything! It's not done but I'm working on it <3

I am in the PITS right now with the end of the semester and my final assignments.

Of course, there's also been a few other factors, such as one of my old partners moving (they've been a pretty solid constant in my life for like, 6-ish, almost 7 years now?), getting into a bad fender-bender (dude fell asleep and decimated the car behind me, plus the back of my car), and watching my dad slowly but surely approach his midlife crisis in real-time...

But, BESIDES all that and more!! My procrastination and perfectionism have really come together to form the ultimate cycle of avoidance and feelings of doom.

I commute college and as a directionally challenged person I figured something out this semester that my mutuals with cars may find useful.

When you need to go somewhere urban/that has a parking deck, don’t enter the address of your destination into your GPS. Instead enter the address of the parking deck into your GPS.

That way it takes you to the shortest route to where you have to park instead of the shortest route to get there. Cuz you gotta put your car somewhere before you do anything else.

Cuz let me tell you, if I just enter the address of my school into my GPS it always leads me to an entrance/spot way on the opposite side of campus. So realizing that I could instead use the address of the parking deck itself has been a lifesaver.

Hello Tumblr! My name is Taylor Smith and I am a 19 year old college sophomore! I recently started a GoFundMe campaign to help me pay for my Spring semester costs at college. The past 10 months have been nothing but ups and downs for me, on top of my college increasing our tuition in the middle of the year without acknowledging the students among other issues (HBCUs, am I right?), and it all has taken on toll on me. I was only notified of my financial situation from the school on December 15th, but I must be able to return to school in January. Because my Financial Aid only covers a portion of my costs, and my dad can only do so much in his position, I am unable to pay for school right now. All money raised will go towards my housing, tuition, books & classes, meal plan, transportation, and other campus fees. All money must be raised and paid to the school by January 6th in order to re-register for my classes and move back into my dorm. Any amount given is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

Im so tired...but here's a snippet of what I've been working on in college rn.....and it's still not done.....

(If you're wondering what it is.....it's supposed to be a weird looking sword that I'm taking reference from the anime parasite and taking inspo from venom and his tendril looking weapons....but out of cardboard)

This is due Tuesday...this is for my 3D class....so ya...no new art..just reposting at the moment cause my Apple pencil is kinda done now with me....I'mma see if I can buy a stylus for cheaper instead....

(Thank you @nash-artz-my-gays and @menori-ori for the idea/suggestion of a stylus instead of actual Apple pencil but I'm trying to see if I can buy new iPad that comes with new pencil so I can pay less...in a way)...but ya thx🙌🏼
