Peter Parker opened his eyes to the vibration of his phone. Groaning he reached for it answering the call and putting it to his ear.
“Hello,” he said rubbing his ryes.
“Where are you?”
“My apartment I was sleeping Sam.”
“Look out your window,” the voice of Sam Wilson told him.
Peter slumped out of bed and shuffled to his window.
He nearly dropped the phone.
Ships flying over his apartment building shooting at buildings.
“Uh uhm what are-
“No time get your suit and come to whats left of H.Q.”
“Yes sir,” Peter hung up the phone and put on his suit opening the window and leaping out into the chaos.

Sam put the phone down and looked into the sky.
“He’s on his way.”
“Good,” Cassie looked to Kamala.
“Anything happens today I want you to know I’m glad you are my friend.” Cassie held her hand.
Kamala smiled and turned to the rest of them.
“What’s the plan?” asked Shang Chi.
“We need to close the portal.” Vision took into the sky to have a look around.
“Obviously?” Jen Walters followed up sarcastically.
Vision landed back on the ground.
“What do you see?” Sam asked.
“The portal has opened to the quantum realm it looks like it’s open from the other side.”
“So we will have to close it from the other side.” Cassie added.
At that moment a rumble roared its way through the ground and out of the portal rose a gigantic ship. A shuttle launched from it’s side descending to meet the group of heroes on the ground.
Out of this ship stepped who Sam could only assume was Kang. He wore a green and purple suit with a long cape and a blue helmet covered his face.
“The young Avengers and their “parents?” He looked to Sam, Monica, Vision and the others. Out behind him stepped an older man with a giant head dress and a long black beard.
He smiled an evil smile.
Kang raised his hands and all of them were lifted into the air and turned upside down much to their displeasure.
“Relax. I’m just going to make this tickle a lot.” Kang grinned at his prisoners.
———
Peter swung from building to building trying to make his way to the edge of manhattan where H.Q. was located. Before he could grab onto his next web he was knocked out of the air by the ship and hit the ground. Peter groaned and sat up at orange portals opened around him and soldiers stepped through holding batons that glowed on the end.
“Need a hand?” A red figure dived through the air and landed next to Peter.
Daredevil smiled and put his back to Peter’s.
“How bout an eye in the sky?” Rang a voice in Peter’s ear.
Kate drew her arrow back to her cheek aimed at one of the soldiers.
The soldiers lunged at them and both Matt and Peter dodged the attacks as the soldiers smashed into each other. An arrow flew into another soldier as he fell to the ground.
As Peter tried to avoid the baton from one of the soldiers another hit him in the stomach and he squealed lurching to the side.
“They have tickle batons?” Peter gulped and knocked the helmet off of one of the soldiers near him as it fell to the ground.
“Glad I’m not down there then.” Kate smirked as she launched another arrow.
“Try to avoid them if you can help it!” Daredevil smacked his batons into a soldier and was jabbed in the ribs with one as he howled with laughs. Peter kicked this soldier in the face saving Daredevil.
Kate drew back another arrow but felt a sudden tickle to her side as she fired missing completely and began to laugh as the soldier behind her continued to pry into her side with the baton.
“Kate you almost hit me!” Peter yelled into comms.
“HEHEELLLLLP MEEEHEEEE!” Laughed Kate into her comms as the soldier was attacking her plunging his baton into her belly.
“Hang on!” Yelled Daredevil and fought off the soldier attacking him. He ran dodging baton attacks from the other soldiers and was hit in the head with one as he fell into the ground two soldiers jabbed their batons into his ribs as Daredevil howled with loud laughter.
“Daredevil!” Peter yelled running for him but was tackled by another soldier and had a baton enter his side causing him to laugh and squeal.
All 3 heroes tried to fight off the soldiers but it wasn’t going well for them, Kate was screaming with laughter as batons kept poking into her belly, and Daredevil and Peter were dealing with their own problems of soldiers. They needed help and fast.
———
The amount of laughs and screams coming from The New Avengers and Young Avengers was vast and almost comical. Kang wiggled his fingers as the power of his tickle spread across all of them. Sam was screaming with loud belly laughs as his abs felt the tickle of Kang, Carol was thrashing and squealing as her armpits were attacked, Billy and Tommy had tears in their eyes as their ribs were mercilessly bombarded by the powers of Kang, Kamala was in hysterics as her belly exploded with a million ticklish sensations, Cassie was screaming and swearing as she felt the tickles dance across her soles and arches, Nathan was screaming as the feeling attacked him in the side, Kid loki was in agony over his ribs and underarms, Vision squirmed with giggles as the tickle dug into his ribs and sides She hulk was the main force due to her loud bellows of laughter from the tickling to her belly and under arms and Shang Chi was laughing from the tickles on his sides.
———
Kate managed to knee the soldier attacking her belly with enough force to make him fall and she swept under his legs, she managed to hit him in right in the head with her bow knocking him out cold. She drew and fired two arrows as the soldiers attacking Daredevil and Peter fell to the ground.
“Th-thanks,” gasped Peter.
“Don’t mention it kid,” Kate smiled down at him and ran off the building using a grapple arrow she swung from rooftop to rooftop. Spiderman took flight beside her along with Daredevil who jumped from rooftop to rooftop with them.
———
“The soldiers have begun to gather the civilians sir,” Immortus bowed.
“Good Immortus I expect our other friends to arrive right about now.” Kang grabbed the arrow that was inches from his face.
“The Hawkeye is here.” He growled but was met with a baton to the head by Daredevil.
“Spiderman now!” Yelled Daredevil and Peter swung knocking Immortus to the side.
The distraction of Kang allowed the heroes in captivity to fall to the ground. Freed from the clutches of Kang they charged for him and Immortus.
Cassie shrunk down out of site. Along with Ant-man. Vision blasted at Immortus with his head laser and Immortus fell to the ground in pain.
Cassie enlarged herself along with Scott attacking Kang in the side.
Kang kicked his feet crumpling into a ball howled with deep laughs. They destroyed his suits power causing the tickle power to malfunction and tickle him everywhere. He screamed thrashing on the ground.
“You will need us for what is coming.” Immortus said under the knee of Vision.
“If we need you we can find you at The Raft where you will be spending the rest of your life.” Vision smirked.
———
The malfunction of Kang’s suit caused the portal to close and soldiers of the T.V.A. To return to their original timelines along with the ships who were brought down in the malfunctions activation. Kang and Immortus were both stripped of power and taken to the highest security prison in The Raft under 24/7 guard.
The Young Avengers went their separate ways having to control the chaos in their own cities and the world felt safe with the newly formed New Avengers.
Sam stood at the grave of Steve Rogers and rubbed the head of it.
“On your left.” Carol said behind him.
Sam smiled.
“What do you think Immortus meant by what’s to come?” asked Carol.
“Whatever it is we will face it and win.” Sam answered back.

“It can’t be I refuse to believe this!” Reed tossed the book to the side.
“It’s real and it’s happening as we speak.” Steven picked the book up and set it on the pedestal.
“Reed we have to go and stop him.” Said Namor.
“Whatever it takes.” Shuri added.
Reed nodded and they all walked through a portal made by Steven to the Baxter building.
The book on the pedestal had a picture of two earths colliding into each other with a green hooded figure watching it all play out.
The text under it had one line of dialogue.
“When a three headed god falls and the time war ends and the multiverse dwindles out. So cometh The Doom Empire.”

Let's talk about MCU Phase 4
So there's been general rumblings in the community that Phase 4 is aimless. Directionless. That there's no connections between the movies. And I can respect that viewpoint but to me I see where it's all heading towards. Secret Wars (2015 version). What exactly IS secret wars though? Well to be short it's a deathmatch between universes for survival. The original universe MILES MORALES was from was the Ultimate Universe (Earth 1610) alongside the black nick fury (In the 616 universe he was white). However incursions happened (Yes those same incursions from Doctor Strange 2) and universes across the multiverse were colliding into each other. Eventually it was just the main comic universe vs the ultimate universe and there was some shenanigans with Doctor Doom becoming a god and creating battleworld. But we'll save that for later. For now let's look at what we've gotten in Phase 4. I'll also explain exactly how these all tie in for the future.
THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR EVERY PHASE 4 MOVIE AND SHOW
WandaVision: Well we were given Scarlet Witch, The Darkhold, Nexus beings, Agatha, White Vision, Wiccan, Speed and Monica getting her powers. Scarlet witch was important for Doctor Strange 2 alongside the Darkhold however this may not be the last we see of her.
More importantly Nexus beings are.....people who can basically defy fate. They are quite literally chaos. Save that for later. But there's also White Vision who's still out there on the planet or galaxy. Wanda's kids also make their debut here which is setting up the Young Avengers for the future or some deviation of it lol
Falcon and the Winter Soldier: We got more of Zemo, Sam becoming Captain America, Bucky being at peace with himself, the Flag smashers, the GRC, Torres being set up as the new falcon, John Walker, Isaiah and his grandson Eli and Val. And of course there's Sharon Carter.
We got some very interesting development here. Eli is another Young Avenger, John Walker is being set up for the Thunderbolts with Val serving as the leader/recruiter, Zemo also will most likely be on the thunderbolts as well and Sam becoming Captain America is huge for a variety of reasons. Champions (Avengers variation) can be set up from here but let's not forget Sharon Carter who'll be huge for Armor Wars, Possibly Ironheart and more.
Loki: Oh man. We got the TVA, introduction of multiple timelines, Variants, He Who Remains, and the prologue to Kang.
Listen, this show is very pivotal for what's being set up. We know the infinity stones are only locked to the universe they come from, The brief lore of the Multiverse war with Kangs fighting each other. Loki being set into ANOTHER universe and the opening of our universe to the grand multiverse (Thank you sylvie -___-) whereas before someone like Chavez couldn't access our reality since we were sealed off. The TVA is also huge because we've seen technology capable of nullifying magic and other wonky things like sending people to the Void when pruned
Black Widow: Alright we were given Yelena, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, and the other widows being free.
This movie is deceptive. Get it? Because Black Widow is a spy? ......Okay I'll see myself out lol. BUT basically what I'm saying is that we got Taskmaster who is prime Thunderbolt material, Yelena who we've seen pop up in Hawkeye and has a connection with Val, Red Guardian while being a bumbling idiot he DID mention fighting Captain America in the past. Also we've seen briefly a widow fighting against an Extremis guy in Shang-Chi, I think the widows are doing their own thing now and we may see a few of them working for Val.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: Wooo boy. Ten rings the organization, Ten rings weapon, Dragons, Ta Lo, Xu Xialing taking over the ten rings organization and HOTEL CALIFORNIA!!!! (Such a lovely place~)
Memes aside (Great song), There's so much to unpack here. We've seen the Ten rings symbol in Iron man 1, Ant-Man, and now Ms. Marvel. This organization has been around for thousands of years and their connections has to run deep. The weapons themselves from the post credit scene aren't known to be Kree, Science or Magic based. Oh man. Like the Bangle from Ms. Marvel we have something.....odd here. Celestial tech? Maybe something else? Perhaps not even from our universe? Also freaking dragons exist. DRAGONS! They're so cool! Ta Lo is also of note because it's a realm (Not so much a different universe) like Asgard or where the Djinn come from. It's also part of the same realms that K'un L'un is from. But Xialing taking over the ten rings....Yeah we're definitely going to see more of the impact this has in the immediate future. Perhaps a collaboration with Val and Sharon.
What If…?: The Watcher and other Universes. Also sick ass Ultron fight.
Not much to really say here. It's a cool novel concept taken literally from the same comics series but it did show us our first look into alternate universes. We've seen Captain Carter variant show up in Doctor Strange 2 and I think this show sets a lot of the groundwork for what we will see in the future. Also cmon. That Ultron fight? AMAZING!!! *Ahem* fanboy aside, I don't think that everything in What if will stay in What If.
Eternals: Arishem the fucking judge, Tiamat's emergence, Eternals themselves, Deviants, Starfox and Black Knight.
Right so Arishem is.....I think he's going to judge humanity after the events or during the events of Secret Wars. He's literally the prime celestial. The one who created all the eternals across the universe if not multiverse. Tiamat's emergence is also really important. I feel like there are organizations studying him and maybe trying to take pieces of him to use as tech? We'll see. The eternals themselves is important because it's not just OUR planet that has them judging by the post credits scene. Our eternals though....well they have a LONG history and met many many people in the past and present. The deviants are also going to be seen again in the future. And.....in the comics.....Thanos was a deviant. Which ties into....Starfox being thanos brother. Yeah....I think there's going to be more lore into Thanos but also other eternals not from earth.
And to wrap it up. Black Knight and his cursed Ebony Blade which may or may not be related to the Necrosword from Thor 4. This sword may serve as a key in upcoming events but setting that aside, we see Dane talking to Blade himself. Which is setting up for a possible Midnight Sons? Hmm.
Hawkeye: Kate Bishop, Introduction of the Kingpin and Echo.
Right so Hawkeye gave us Kate who is absolutely fantastic and will be a central figure like Yelena moving forward. Kingpin however being introduced in the MCU proper does mean we have a central villain figure for a few heroes including Peter Parker. Echo is of course getting her own show and she may or may not end up on the Thunderbolts
Spider-Man: No Way Home: More Variants, Daredevil debut, College Trilogy, Symbiote
So this movie was huge for showing different variants of the same character in a single universe. I do think they would cause an Incursion if they stayed any longer but the upside is that the Raimi and Webb Spider-men universes have had their villains redeemed and alive now XD. Matt Murdock also makes his first MCU debut in this movie and we'll see him in Echo plus his own Disney Plus show~ There's also the college trilogy being set up which means everything up to now was just a prologue for Peter. I can't wait to see what villains we will get......and speaking of villains. HOLY SHIT WE HAVE A SYMBIOTE HERE!!! If you guys aren't aware, the black suit spider man actually debut in the first secret wars in the 80s. There's no stretch to think they'll do the same thing. Also we have to see if our universe does have symbiotes
Moon Knight: Introduction of Egyptian gods, Exploring the Afterlife, Avatars
Yeah. I love this show but we got a lot of future material here. The egyptian gods are still here on earth and they DO have power but stay at an arms distance. We've seen the afterlife albeit briefly but it ties into Thor 4 with Valhalla. And Taweret brings up the Ancestral Plane from Black Panther. I don't think these afterlifes are just here to be here. We may see some wonky things happen where these places get disturbed and souls are pulled out. But avatars. Look. This is huge. Bast is the Panther Goddess and that means she too has an Avatar like how Marc was for Khonshu. We also seen Layla become the Scarlet Scarab because she's an avatar for Taweret~ I don't think is the last we'll see of this concept.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: I mean CMON. This ENTIRE movie is the Lynchpin with Quantumania perhaps being the only other Phase 4 movie that makes it clear as day what's going to happen. We got Incursions, Another universe with 838, Darkhold being destroyed across the multiverse, Chavez being a Multiversal traveler, Clea opening a portal to the dark dimension because Strange caused an incursion. Look. This movie lol.....it literally told you all what will happen in the future XDDD
Ms. Marvel: The Bangle, Mutations, Switching places, Noor dimension
Right so the Bangle like the Ten rings seems to be an unknown origin weapon. It's most likely not from this universe. That being said, this is just ONE out of a TWO piece set. And judging by the fact that this bangle was discovered in a place related to the ten rings.....Oh man. There's also the fact that Kamala Khan is our FIRST ever mutant. To be fair she was supposed to be a mutant in the comics but the whole Perlmutter pushing for Inhumans to be the next x-men....yeah....That aside this is huge as it sets up for other mutants like Namor in Black Panther 2, X-men and more.
The post credit is also....I think Carol might've found the other bangle and activated it. Either way this bangle is definitely not from our planet. Curious to see if the bangle are the infamous Nega-Bands or Quantum Bands from the comics. And the Noor dimension. We have a secret dimension that overlaps with our own. I'll explain why this is important at the end.
Thor: Love and Thunder: Valhalla, Necrosword, Eternity, Love (Gorr's daughter), This movie just affirms what I already know. We got valhalla which may just be another realm like Ta Lo or whatever. Ergo when a person dies like energy they don't really cease to exist but rather go somewhere else. The Necrosword which....ties into Knull the GOD of symbiotes. (Might be the sword that decapitated the celestial head used as a spaceport called Knowhere) This sword could also be related to the Ebony Blade that Dane Whitman has.
Also holy shit we've seen ETERNITY! That's literally how it looks in the comics LOL! Uh....this must mean Infinity, Oblivion, Death and maybe even the Phoenix Force are in the MCU. Nerdness aside, this lets us know that there are VERY strong multiversal entities that DO exist. And this ties into Love since she was given a fraction of Eternity's power when she was resurrected. I absolutely think Love will be a MAJOR character moving forward if not the reason as to how Secret Wars begins or Ends or both.
Right so what does ALL of this mean???? Well Let's look at the pieces and make them fit yeah?
We're getting completely new characters like She-hulk, Moon Knight, Ironheart, Nova, etc etc.
We have successor characters like Sam Captain America, Kate Bishop, Yelena Bolova, etc etc
There are a lot of things concerning earth, space, magic and the multiverse.
Listen. This all ties into secret wars. I think Kang's multiversal war is literally just that. A secret war fought across reality and incursions will happen forcing magic characters to get involved. It'll probably get so bad that there will only be a handful of Universes left and we may see either 616 vs 838 OR what I think is more likely 616 vs some other universe where we see legacy characters come back like Tony, Steve, Natasha, etc VERSUS our new Black Widow, Captain America, etc etc
Can you imagine our peter parker FORCED to fight another Tony so OUR universe doesn't get erased? Or our Sam vs their Steve? And these other variants won't know about the history or connection our characters have. New characters are being introduced to increase the scale of how epic this battle will be. Marc Moon Knight vs Jake Moon Knight or Arthur Moon Knight. Ms Marvel vs a Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel. The possibilities are endless.
Love will function as either the catalyst that starts this whole thing with each Kang trying to use her as an ultimate weapon given she has the power of infinity in her or she ends up putting this conflict to rest for good with her powers similar to God Doom. She may end up accidentally or intentionally creating a BattleWorld which is a hodge podge of different universes that were destroyed put into a single world.
Either way, all roads lead to Kang and we WILL see more versions of Kang in the future. Everything in Phase 4 is building up towards New characters fighting the Old characters we've loved and they've loved. Everything is leading up to the survival of our reality vs another universe's reality. We're going to see Black Suit Spider man, the gods getting involved, magic users, Old and New characters returning. It's going to make the Endgame portal scene look like a toddler.
People wanted another Endgame event. They wanted to know where it was all heading?
Tumblr media
THIS is where it's all heading. I hope you're all ready for the vast epicness and grand scale the MCU will be heading towards. Infinity Stones? Wiping out half the universe? That was just the warm-up.
ENTIRE universes being wiped out, Fighting a war against multiple variants of the same character, Introduction of new characters from our universe or others.....Yeah. This is the big league now. And I hope you're all ready for it.

MCU Young Avengers Team
So from the original run, we have Nate, Eli, Teddy, Billy, Kate, Cassie, Jonas and Tommy.
Nate- I mean, we have Kang the Conqueror and the Multiverse. Nate could theoretically show up but I feel like Nate isn't really needed anymore because they have so many other ways they could bring the team together. So I feel like Nate's out.
Jonas- personally, I hope we don't get Jonas. Never liked him, the relationship with Cassie was weird. I know Jonas was made from the former Vision and technically the MCU did have the body of the former Vision I really don't think they'll go this route. Cuz weird.
Cassie- yes most definitely especially when the MCU did the time jump and with her getting top billing in Ant Man 3.
Kate- I'm gonna say yeah even though they've made her older than other teenagers on the team. I'd say they're putting her in because why else would they introduce her (I know Kate is more than young avengers now but that was her start) but her age makes me slightly wary especially since they've been introducing other teen characters into the MCU.
Eli- I mean I'd love but he has been in comic Siberia since the first run and I know someone else in the Marvel Animated Movies has the name of Patriot so idk if he was just a FaWS easter egg for fans since they gave tribute to Isiah Bradley
Billy- we saw him as baby in Wandavision but ive assumed from the beginning that we would somehow still get a teen Billy and with Joe Lockes casting in Agatha Coven of Chaos, it's looking more likely which leads to...
Tommy- also saw him as baby in Wandavision so I can only hope he will also get the potential teenager treatment especially since he HAS been showing up more and more in comics again even if it's just as Davids boyfriend (heeeee)
Teddy- we've seen Skrull and Kree so the basis for his character is in the MCU but with the genderbent of Mar Vel, don't quite know how they'll swing it. Hoping beyond hope he shows up in Secret Invasion because Teddy is a great character in his own right but I mean Teddy/Billy always.
Now the new characters in the second run
America- she's in the MCU in a big way by being introduced with Doctor Strange and becoming a student of the mystic arts. Plus, as we all know, Billy is entirely responsible for her way of life (unless they've changed it) so she will definitely be on the team
Kid Loki- I'm wondering if this is another Easter egg of him showing up in Loki and, honestly, if he's not on the team, I think it will still be fine since he was mainly an antagonist that drove the plot of the second run.
Noh-Varr- again, Kree have been introduced and he could also potentially show up in Secret Invasion but I'm not holding my breath
David- idk if we will see David anytime soon since he's synonymous with XMen but I hope so cuz he's cool. And also you know. Think fast.
And then we have new kids. The MCU is introducing other teen characters that had nothing to do with the Young Avengers. This includes:
The teenager Peter Parker who I feel is going to be the driving force of bringing the YA team together
Kamala- she's currently a very popular teen character in the comics (as she should be) and will be showing up in the captain marvel sequel. I can't see her not becoming a YA team member.
Riri- she is getting her intro into the MCU with BP2 and then also her own show. She could be the replacement for Iron Lad which you know much improvement.

WANDAVISION SERIES FINALE THOUGHTS
Tumblr media
WHOEVER’S CUTTING ONIONS NEEDS TO S T O P.
hayward | i was one of the many few who really wished death on the man cause he’s just the worst. this man emptied his clip at two children. i’m glad jimmy was able to pull a fast one on this dick and that darcy hit him with the ice cream truck and very happy to see the man being taken away in cuffs.
vision vs. vision | while i would’ve enjoyed seeing them fight it out until one completely lost, it wouldn’t be vision without some philosophic conversation. it’s true vision fashion. he doesn’t fight unless it’s a last resort. he’s logical and can assess other means in which to deter a foe. truly enjoyed the scene and now i’m just curious as to where tf white vision yeeted off to after regaining the memories from hex!vision? some have speculated possibly wakanda since that is the place where he died. twice. i would love to see him possibly interact with shuri since she would’ve appeared in the memory montage that hex!vision provided him with alongside other events from infinity war.
agatha (aka not mephisto) | overall, i loved agatha as a character and i’m glad she wasn’t killed off by the end of the series. i know she was more villainous in the show but i’m glad they somewhat neutralized her even if it was by cruel punishment brought upon by wanda to keep her trapped in westview as a nosy neighbor. it keeps the door open for us to see more interactions between her and wanda. i’m also glad that she was the foe wanda had to go against. i know many (like myself) speculated mephisto would appear and be revealed but i’m happy i was wrong about that. this is the first entry into phase four and to spill out a big bad right away? probably not the best move. i know ant-man 3 is planning on introducing kang the conqueror so i wouldn’t be shocked if mephisto is used as a red herring to distract us from the actual big bad of the phase, kang the conqueror (while still keeping mephisto around obviously for future battles and possibly use him as a big bad down the road).
family is forever | i was sobbing when seeing the hex start shrinking down in the distance outside the boys’ window. i love that wanda and vision made the move to put them to bed as a way of saying goodbye so they wouldn’t have to see them disappear. i hope to see these same boys come back cause i think no matter what your theory was on them, viewers fell in love with them. if planning for young avengers, i cannot wait to see them be a part of it. given that these boys weren’t real and not actually wanda’s children, i think they’ll go the route that they’ll find each other even if not as a blood related family but reincarnations that know that wanda was their mother in one instance and see her as a mother figure (alongside their actual mothers, of course). i just love them and i really wish they stuck around but i know this won’t be the last time we see them!
wanda’s outfit | i love it and i think pays homage to her comic book costume while still fitting the aesthetic of wanda and the mcu. love the attention to detail and the pattern on her headpiece. someone on here also pointed out in a post how it resembles magneto’s suit and it makes me love it more because of that. in conclusion, this is the scarlet witch and she’s hot.
wanda and vision’s farewell | if i was sobbing at billy and tommy’s fate, i was wailing by the time these two started saying goodbye. we learn that the main reason vision was able to be created the way he was by wanda was because of the mind stone. while she is the scarlet witch, she was exposed to and enhanced by the mind stone that ended up becoming vision. like she said, it’s a part of her. he lives on in her and overall, this scene just cemented that these two are meant to be together. they are going to be that power couple in the mcu moving forward, together or apart. we know these two are meant for each other and have so much love for each other and will find their way back always. while they may change, the one thing you can bet your ass on is that they fucking love each other.
ralph bohner | the twist that no one saw coming - peter is ralph. it’s clear that he was being controlled by agatha because the moment monica took off the necklace, he woke up from her spell. a lot of people are swirling around to say that he’s probably woo’s missing person. we don’t know that and it’s something that’s left unconfirmed. while i would’ve enjoyed the reveal to be peter actually being peter from the x-men universe, i’m also happy he isn’t. yes there was a lot of fanfare and hope for this series to introduce the multiverse but in retrospect, it would’ve been too much to throw at us at the beginning of phase four. throwing in the multiverse right away would’ve taken away from the series being about wanda (separate point i’ll get to at the end). do hope to see evan peters in a future mcu project, though!
wanda’s story moving forward | i hope wanda becomes a sort of anti-hero for the future. this does set up her appearance in doctor strange 2 and i can’t wait to see what she does. while agatha said she’s destined to destroy the world and her power exceeds the sorcerer supreme’s, i hope the writers don’t make wanda into this villain that loses her logic because of extreme power. wanda has proven agatha wrong already by acknowledging the error in her ways. when she realized she was hurting the people of westview, she let them go and stopped hurting them. she learned that yes, she is hurting them without knowing so what she has to do is let them go. wanda has learned throughout her years with the avengers the consequences her powers can have on people. we know she’s never been trained by a witch and yes, that makes her dangerous with her chaos magic. the second post credit scene shows us that she’s determined to teach herself even if it’s through the darkhold. in seeing what she’s done and the power she holds, i think wanda will be this gray moral character. she holds a great deal of power, the most powerful being on the planet at the moment, and that can cloud her judgement at times. despite being an avenger, this show has really shown us that wanda is alone. while she was with the avengers, what have they really done? they kept her in check and helped her utilize her powers for good but then when civil war happened, she was detained and treated like a weapon of mass destruction. the avengers are clearly nonexistent and those that are around, haven’t bothered with her. i also hope that this new phase of marvel kinda tears down the original avengers and their actions because while intentions were good, not everything or everyone was perfect and there’s consequences. and i hope those consequences are shown through the main characters of this phase like wanda.
the complaints | while i loved this show so so much, i did have some issues. while i enjoyed that this show fleshed out more of wanda’s past, i’m sad that they didn’t confirm or at least try to make wanda jewish since they completely erased her romani roots from the comics. this goes back to my whole thing with representation which i’ve mentioned before in response to an article. while i love elizabeth olsen’s portrayal and care she has for wanda, a romani actress still should’ve been cast from the beginning. the least they could’ve done was at least make her jewish even if ever so subtly because that is the other half of wanda’s identity, even if it’s been retconned often. if they are never going to confirm her as magneto’s daughter in the mcu, at least honor that aspect of her identity if you’ve erased one major one already. representation matters and i wish they tried to do right by the character since they clearly paid close attention to other aspects of her comic book history and took a deep dive into her mental health. come at me for these thoughts but i’ll stand by them. another is just directed at the press for the show (i’m looking at you paul bettany). while fans went ham on the theories and marvel will do anything to misdirect you, i think there should’ve been a clear up from marvel about bettany’s claims of a big cameo coming in the series when it was about himself. i get you don’t want to spoil the show and the big surprises it may hold for the audience but still. i think there should’ve been someone behind the scenes or bettany’s publicist could’ve kinda told him to stop hinting at a super duper big cameo. yes, fans got carried away but i think when you’re doing press for marvel, it should be somewhat common knowledge that fans are going to analyze and try to figure out wtf is gonna happen. it’s fun theorizing, don’t get me wrong but when it’s gone the way it has for this show, i think it leaves a lot of people unsatisfied. i’ll admit i was being a clown thinking i’d see patrick stewart as professor x again since he’s an actor paul’s never worked with before and would be a huge fan service for the audience like in the mandalorian season finale. tldr; crazy fan theories comes with the territory. my final grievance actually has to do with the set up for monica’s engineer. i was also hoping we’d someone big or someone that could be big in the future, possibly it was a skrull at the end but the tone and way monica talked about it, i think it was underwhelming to see a character that we came not to care too much about.
final thoughts | overall, i loved this show and it was refreshing to see marvel embrace the magical side of their universe as it continues to expand. the cast was amazing. everyone in the cast and crew deserve awards because this really gave us a show about wanda. i think a lot of people lost that (including myself) with all the theorizing; goes back to my complaint about press for the show. it gave us a show that dealt with trauma and grief in a way we haven’t seen before in marvel’s cinematic universe. i’ll admit i didn’t care much for wanda as i did with the others but this show made me care for her a lot more and made me a bigger fan of her and vision’s story. it grounded itself in dealing with wanda’s grief and trauma in a new way while also exploring her character more. so i’m happy that we didn’t get a super big cameo or that the multiverse wasn’t confirmed because then the tone and attention would’ve shifted away from this story being about her. i hope marvel can give us shows like this that make us care about a character’s emotions and feelings rather than just how cool and badass they look in a suit. it was clear that the cast and crew made this with such love and care that had good storytelling and kept us on edge every week. i hope that marvel can show us these types of stories and ranges from characters in future movies as well.

Could Harley Keener fill the role of “Iron Lad” in the MCU?
Tumblr media
I’ve never been this excited for an Avengers movie, it’s theory time!!!
The new Avengers: Endgame trailer introduced Kate Bishop (Hawkeye) one member of the Young Avengers. I’m so, so excited for that! Here she is, being trained by Clint Barton.
Tumblr media
For those of you not in the know, the Young Avengers was formed by the character Iron Lad.
Tumblr media
I know the name is... not great. Anyway, brief history of Iron Lad:
- Iron Lad is also another character “Kang the Conqueror” who first showed up in Marvel comics in 1963; he’s an almost painfully forgettable villain, who had never been written very well. He was best known for his ability to time-travel and fuck around in alternative universes.
- Kang the Conqueror travels back to meet himself, a sixteen-year-old boy known as Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Richards, to save him from being hospitalised in a knife attack. We learn that the people who near-knifed him were bullies, and the event is what shapes him into the villain of Kang the Conqueror.
- Kang shows Nate through time, hoping that witnessing all his future success will inspire him to become the villain he is today - but this backfires and Nate is horrified by the idea of becoming evil. Nate steals Kang’s time-travelling technology, taking himself back in time and vowing to avoid this potential future version of himself.
- He attempts to contact the Avengers (specifically Tony Stark) who were, unfortunately, disassembled at that point in time. *SPOILERS* Vision has been destroyed at this point in time, and Nate discovers {by which I mean - breaks into Stark Industries to recover steal} his remnants which uncover a plan created by the Avengers in case they ever disband: the plan is to locate and form a new generation of Avengers.
- Iron Lad reconstructs his armour to look like Iron Man’s and calls himself Iron Lad. Why did he call himself this? Honestly, I have no idea. It’s a terrible name, simply the worst. Whichever comic book author came up with this needs to have a good hard look at themselves.
- He then goes onto form the Young Avengers, with the data he collected stole, to stop the evil alternate universe version of himself. The rest is ridiculously convoluted history.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NATE RICHARDS I DESCRIBED IS ONLY ONE VERSION OF HIM, THERE ARE MANY OTHERS. THIS WAS NATE AS HE WAS KNOWN AS IRON LAD.
But, could Harley Keener fill to role of Iron Lad in the MCU?
Tumblr media
Yes. Yes, absolutely. Obviously I think yes, that’s what this whole post is about.
A rose by any other name...
First roadblock we hit is difference in name. Harley and Nathaniel are not interchangeable names, and Iron Lad is clearly Nate Richards. There are at least three different versions of Nate Richards... all of whom are linked to Kang the Conqueror. If Nate Richards were to become Kang the Conqueror in the MCU, they would want his name to be Nate Richards.
Unless, they have no intention of keeping the “Kang” storyline. A new Iron Lad with a different, less convoluted and ridiculous, backstory to work into the MCU. If they’re not using Kang, they probably won’t want to call their Iron Lad.... Nathaniel Richards.
If the MCU were to set up an Iron Lad and exclude the Kang storyline, they would have to give him a different name - H a r l e y   K e e n e r .
Bullies. Nathaniel Richards was bullied for most of his childhood, and this served as the catalyst of him turning evil. In Iron Man 3 we comes to understand that Harley has suffered the same experiences. {side note: the bully who stabs Nate was named Morgan, Tony brings this name up while he’s discussing having a baby with Pepper, and there could be a tiny bit of foreshadowing there?}
Nathaniel is a genius, who at sixteen, has built a version of his own suit. We haven’t seen Harley develop since Iron Man 3, but even then we saw he had a capacity for building stuff (and a kickass workshop do do it in, thx Tony!)
It is confirmed that the actor of Harley Keener, Ty Simpkins, is confirmed to play him again in Avengers: Endgame.
Harley Keener is still, apparently, relevant enough to include in the Avengers film - relevant enough to bring back. Sure, it could just be for a cameo, or it could be because they’re setting him up for another, more permanent role, in the Marvel Universe.
Age. Iron Lad is sixteen years old, Ty Simpkins  is seventeen years old, Harley Keener is said to be approximately sixteen years old in Avengers: Endgame.
Tony Stark has to die sometime... who will replace him?
[quick aside: I do think it would be more impactful for Harley to take the role of Iron Lad, and, in effect, the Iron Man legacy - because unlike Nate, he has a pre-established relationship with Tony.]
I know we all want to reject the facts but the hard truth is that Tony Stark won’t exist in this universe forever. RDJ probably isn’t ready or willing to do another decade of action films and there’s only so many times Tony Stark can crumble into an unhealthy destructive martyrdom because he actually gets himself killed in a self-sacrificing blaze of glory. May not in Endgame, but Tony will have to go... probably relatively soon.
In fact, they all will. The original Avengers aren’t going to stick around forever. It’s time for a new generation, a new Avengers, a Young Avengers.
The main reason I’m so excited for the possibility of seeing Harley Keener as Iron Lad is because that means YOUNG AVENGERS formation. I love Harley too and want for him to be utilised, but, really it’s all about a new generation of Avengers forming.
Also, *CAPTAIN MARVEL SPoILERS* guess who’ll also be about the right age to fit into the Young Avengers team? Monica Fucking Rambeau that’s who.
Seeing Kate Bishop really has me excited for this, I am so keen to see what Marvel does with the next generation.

asukaskerian
  asukaskerian  ...
sure, yes! :D what even is the plot like?
OKAY, SO.
Young Avengers can be split up, roughly, into five sections:
Volume 1, Part 1
Volume 1, Part 2
The Events (Civil War, Secret Invasion, and Dark Reign)
Children’s Crusade
Volume 2
Most of the cast has appearances in other things, but the main plot can be summed up as the above.
And now under the cut. I am verbose. Sorry.
V1 Pt1
Nate Richards, in the 31st century, finds out that he’s destined to become Kang the Conqueror, a time-travelling supervillain.
He comes back in time to the current era (or, well, 2005-ish), in an attempt to get some help and Not Go Evil.
He gets brushed aside by all the real Avengers, but finds the Vision’s corpse in a destroyed Avengers Mansion, and comes across the Avengers Failsafe Program. If they were to ever need a back-up team, then this was it!
The results aren’t meant to be just teenagers, but they’re what Nate finds. He calls himself Iron Lad, fashioning himself after Iron Man, reconstructing Vision partway to use the bot as armor. His new friends are:
Billy Kaplan, who calls himself Asgardian. He later switches to calling himself Wiccan, because being a gay superhero whose name is Asgardian would get him ripped to shreds by the media. It initially seems like his powers are electricity and flight, but it turns out he’s a reality warper.
Teddy Altman, who calls himself Hulkling. He’s a shapeshifter who can take on a Hulk-like form, though he keeps his wits about him.
Eli Bradley, who calls himself Patriot (after Bucky Barnes’ original alter ego, I think), a supersoldier whose grandfather was Isaiah Bradley, aka the Black Captain America. Isaiah was either one of the few survivors of the rounds of testing that the Serum underwent before Steve Rogers took it, or he was one of the few survivors of the experiments to recreate it after Steve went down, depending on the backstory. Either way, Eli’s got a chip on his shoulder about how African-Americans are treated by the government, including a short issue where he’s mentioned giving a school presentation on the Tuskegee experiments.
They try to do some superheroics, with varying results. The newspapers dub them the Young Avengers, and Jessica Jones, a reporter at the time, goes looking into them.
They try to save a church full of wedding guests, because the happy couple is Very Rich and everyone’s getting held hostage. They set the place on fire by accident, and have to be helped out by one of the bridesmaids. It’s not a great night for them.
Bridesmaid’s name is Kate Bishop! She doesn’t have a superhero identity yet, but she’s pretty good in a fight, and she’s the one that Cassie Lang finds.
Kate and Cassie find the boys at Avengers Mansion, and get the backstory. Cassie finds out that all the Pym Particles she was stealing from her dad (Scott Lang, one of several people to be Ant-Man) since she was in the single digits? They actually gave her superpowers. She can change size. Yay!
There’s a great big kerfuffle as Kang (Nate’s evil future self) and the actual Avengers show up. Jessica Jones ends up un-pregnanted for a bit as time threatens to collapse in on itself because of the stress it’s undergoing.
Billy’s reality-warping abilities are revealed, and he accidentally saves the day, but does not save Nate. Poor Nate.
He and Cassie kissed at some point. It’s not very relevant.
Vision is now a person! Not the same Vision you know and love, though. This one’s brain waves are based on Nate. His name is Jonas. I love him.
He ends up falling in love with Cassie because of this. This is relevant, but not for a while.
He also isn’t part of the team yet.
The adult Avengers tell them to stop superheroing, because they’re kids and not ready for this.
The kids don’t listen. They’re a Team Now.
V1 Pt2
There’s an entire “Eli’s not actually a supersoldier like his grandfather, so he takes Mutant Growth Hormone the way a normal person would take speed so he can temporarily have superpowers and it’s killing him slowly” plotline that I’m not a fan of. I’m really not a fan of the black kid getting the drug plotline. Yech.
He leaves the team for a while.
Kate is an heiress, so she’s bankrolling the team. Fuck yeah.
Also she’s calling herself Hawkeye by this point. Cassie is Stature.
Less Fuck Yeah is the fact that aliens are showing up. Why are aliens showing up? Because Teddy’s an alien.
Turns out his mom was the Skrull princess, and he’s heir to the throne of an alien empire. (His inheritance is bigger than Kate’s.)
Skrulls are natural shape-shifters, hence Teddy’s powers.
His dad was Captain Mar-Vell of the Kree empire.
The Kree and Skrull usually hate each other. Mar-Vell seduced Princess Anelle while he and some other Avengers were imprisoned by her father, in fact. It was very soap opera.
Both of these people are dead, and Teddy was raised by a nurse that Anelle had entrusted him to.
Teddy’s adoptive mom gets burned alive. And then not-alive. Teddy is understandably traumatized by the fact that he’s an alien and that his mom was just murdered by the guy that came to steal him away.
Teddy gets kidnapped. Eli rejoins the team because, well, kidnapped.
BTW Jonas has been living at Avengers Mansion, playing chess and getting tested for sapience.
Edwin Jarvis tries to convince them to let the real, adult Avengers handle the kidnapping.
They nope and Jonas helps them find more Young Avengers. They go break a kid out of prison.
Kid’s a mutant, like Billy! Kid’s had trouble controlling the powers and destroyed some stuff, like Billy! Kid looks exactly like Billy, like... wait.
This is Tommy Shepherd. He blew up a school when his superspeed manifested, and got tossed into juvie as a result. He has white hair, but he and Billy are otherwise identical. This is relevant.
They go try to save Teddy, but even more aliens show up than just the One Guy (K’lrt, the Super Skrull) that kidnapped Teddy.
The Skrulls and Kree are about to fight a war over Manhattan because Teddy exists.
A few people suggest that Billy and Tommy are retroactive reincarnations of the Scarlet Witch’s dead kids. This is still relevant.
There’s a big fight, but not a war.
Eli gets shot.
K’lrt has a change of heart and shapeshifts into Teddy and replaces him so that the aliens leave.
Eli gets a blood transfusion from Steve Rogers himself. He’s a real supersoldier now!
They get commended for their actions. Now they really ARE a team, and if someone says V1 team, it’s gonna be these seven: Billy, Teddy, Kate, Cassie, Eli, Tommy, Jonas.
Sometimes Jonas gets swapped out for Nate.
I get sad.
The Events
Civil War was about Tony Stark and Steve Rogers fighting about government oversight. It was more complicated than the movie.
Most of the YA are on Steve’s side. Cassie is on Tony’s.
They try to help the Runaways at one point.
Noh-Varr gets mind-controlled into trying to kill them.
Noh’s life is an endless clusterfuck.
They all almost kill each other, there’s a kind of queerphobic kidnapping (it’s focused on mutants and aliens, but the mutant is gay, two of the aliens are gay, and one of the aliens is genderfluid), and there’s torture of minors.
On the bright side we get to see Tommy being a Big Bro Friend to a twelve-year-old with super-strenghth, so that’s fun.
Secret Invasion is basically about the Skrulls being Everywhere.
They run into the Runaways again.
They fight some aliens.
Teddy almost gets kidnapped again?
This is not the last time Teddy gets kidnapped or even just almost kidnapped.
He should work on that.
Tommy’s powers get a panel that heavily indicate some Science that I once nerded out about for a while.
IDK it’s drawn manga-style and they all fight alien assassins and it’s fun.
Dark Reign was about Norman Osborne taking over everything and being awful.
There’s an evil version of the Young Avengers running around, using their name.
They confront the new team.
The new team ranges from “artsy villain fangirl who found a magic coat” to “guy whose powers led to him accidentally murdering his parents and now he’s fucked up from it and trying to do good” to “girl woke up with powers one day and decided to lie to the world and pretend to be Asgardian” to “some guy who just really loves guns and killing people and styled himself after Punisher’s aesthetic with even less regard to human life” to a chick that’s just a straight-up Nazi with size-changing powers and a robot boyfriend that she’s constantly rewiring to make him a more awful person.
I fucking hate Big Zero. She’s a nazi and she’s awful.
I like Sylvie, though. I mean, she pretends to be something she’s not, and she flirts with a man who’s clearly taken and gay, even while she’s not single herself.
But like.
She’s fun and kinda dumb and I enjoy reading her.
Children’s Crusade
The Scarlet Witch has been missing for a few years.
After Billy’s powers go nuclear, he decides to go find her, because she’s his soul mom.
He brings the team.
(There’s a lot more going on because the Avengers all think Billy’s powers are going to go on the fritz and murder everyone.)
GRANDPA MAGNETO IS IN THIS ONE
I LOVE GRAMPNETO
HE’S NOT GOOD AT THIS GRANDPA THING BUT HE’S HERE
Also Pietro
He’s the worst uncle
He’s so bad with kids
I love him
They find Wanda but it turns out she’s a Doombot.
So they go to Castle Doom, and it turns out she’s amnesiac and about to marry Doctor Doom because he’s manipulating her into thinking he’s a good person.
Shit happens, she gets her memories back, and then there’s a big fight between the Avengers (who think Wanda and Billy are risks), the X-Men (who think similarly, but also are mad at the Avengers, and there’s a cool sequence where Wanda knocks out Emma Frost), and Doctor Doom, who’s trying to become God.
He kind of succeeds, and then fails.
Nate shows up.
Several people, including Cassie’s dad, get brought back from the dead, or are revealed to have never been dead in the first place.
Cassie dies.
Jonas is murdered by Nate.
Everything is awful.
The team splits up.
Only Tommy wants to keep being a hero.
Everything sucks, basically.
V2
I fucking love V2.
Kate and Noh-Varr hook up and she doesn’t even realize this is the guy who almost killed her that one time until the morning after.
They fight some Skrulls while flying around in orbit with Noh’s spaceship.
(We later find out that these are not Skrulls. They are shapeshifters who are Skrull Fanboys.)
Teddy’s been sneaking out at night (he lives with Billy’s family, since he’s an orphan now) to fight crime. Billy does not approve.
There’s a new girl called America Chavez. She’s important.
Loki is like... ten.
Billy tries to pull Teddy’s mom out of another universe, moments before her death.
It’s great!
Turns out she’s an interdimensional Eldritch Abomination that wants to eat their souls.
She can make adults oblivious to the fact that anything is wrong.
She can mind-control parents.
She can, in the right location, bring back DEAD PARENTS that she mind-controls to fight you for the ultimate trifecta of trauma.
She’s terrifying and I love her.
Anyway, Loki tries to help, almost gets used as a bartering chip with Asgard to get them to help instead since no one trusts Loki, and the team comes together!
Kate, Noh, Loki, America, Billy, Teddy
They have to fight a really big horde of mind-controlled parents.
Including their own undead superhero parents.
Loki actually helps!
They fly off to have fun fighting crime elsewhere until they can figure out how to avoid Mother more successfully, since they can’t really stay in New York right now.
They live on Noh’s spaceship.
It’s a nice spaceship.
(Irony of ironies, Loki was the one that pointed The Mother Parasite in Billy’s direction and planted the idea of saving Mrs. Altman into Billy’s mind in the first place. It was a whole Thing.)
TOMMY is not part of the team, because he cut himself off from basically everyone back in CC. I’m not actually sure anyone knew HOW to contact him at this point.
He goes on a date with a cute, superpowered coworker. Coworker’s name is David. He doesn’t actually HAVE superpowers anymore, but his superpower used to be knowledge absorption, and he remembers EVERYTHING.
EVERYTHING
You wanna know Wolverine’s preferred ass-wiping method? David knows. You wanna know how to do a one-time pad to encrypt data? David knows. You want Emma Frost’s bra size? He knows, but he’s not going to tell you, because she’s terrifying.
I love David.
There’s some horrifying Thing wearing Eli’s old costume running around and doing weird illegal shit so Tommy and David investigate.
Tommy gets kidnapped for a bit.
David gets the Young Avengers to help him save Tommy.
It’s awesome, mostly.
Teddy and Billy take a break, and Teddy’s new therapist is Leah of Hel.
I love Leah.
There’s a support group for exes of superpowered people who got fucked over by that whole nonsense.
All three of Noh’s exes are torn between wanting him back or wanting him dead.
Except Oubliette, who doesn’t see why she needs to choose.
America’s ex-teammate is mad that she’s a lesbian.
Patri-not is an Eldrith Being that kidnapped Tommy and we honestly still don’t know what it was.
It’s been SIX YEARS IN THE REAL WORLD AND I STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS
And Leah is Loki’s former best friend.
Teddy think’s they’re all nuts and tries to leave.
Take a guess what happens.
Take a guess.
If you guessed kidnapping, you’re right!
The support group is working with the Mother Parasite.
So now the team has to go rescue Teddy.
Loki gets aged up by way of Billy’s magic but it doesn’t help Loki get their magic back fully like they’d hoped.
So, fight.
It’s all very dramatic and they use David’s phone tree to get backup and there’s a lot of visual metaphor.
Billy becomes the Demiurge for a bit to erase Mother from existence. He’s basically god?
Noh dumps Kate for his ex.
It turns out all of the exes are figments of Loki’s imagination. His guilt over murdering his child self (back in Journey into Mystery) and possessing the body manifested itself externally, and the reason he lost so much of his magic was because he was subconsciously creating magical constructs like Leah and the League of Evil Exes.
Noh feels like a dumbass.
Loki disappears just as Billy’s introducing all of his friends to his parents.
Loki feels guilty as shit.
There’s a New Year’s party and everyone’s invited, including David’s phone tree.
Fun!
Turns out Loki bankrolled the party. They flirt with David for a bit.
I ship it, tbh.
Patri-not wasn’t actually a figment of Loki’s imagination. Patri-not is real, and an enigma, and still has Tommy.
David makes out with Patri-not and halfway through Patri-not turns into Tommy so. Tommy’s back!
WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK PATRI-NOT IS
YES I’M GENUINELY UPSET ABOUT THIS
There’s a joke at the end of the comic about how they’re all queer except Kate.
Hawkeye implies that she’s probably bi later on.
Loki never rejoins the team because GUILT.
Original Sins was a thing. Teddy, David, and Noh work together to save a bunch of stoners who are about to die from having a bunch of information downloaded directly into their brain when someone crushed a giant eyeball.
And everyone’s been doing their own thing since then.
Teddy really needs to stop getting kidnapped, tbh.

I don’t think I’m overstepping when I say that WandaVision is a weird show. It’s intentionally cryptic and there’s a lot going on. It focuses on two characters who have been in several Marvel movies but never truly got the spotlight. Even their romantic relationship in those movies has come off as forced to viewers at times. For comic fans, it’s an easier pill to swallow because it’s something familiar from the comics.
In the comics, the story of Vision and Scarlet Witch was that of two heroes with complicated backstories who found each other, fell in love, and lived happily ever after…until realizing that the point of serialized comics is to keep going and going. Soon their happily ever after became a horror story that destroyed their spirits and that damage lingers to this day.
Scarlet Witch’s history of triumph turning to torment is alive and well in WandaVision episode 3 as she goes through a full-on pregnancy in merely a day. The concept of Wanda having kids with Vision comes from the comics, and it’s one of the big red flags (scarlet flags?) in their immediate future. While things might end up all right down the line with little Billy and Tommy, we’re about see some dark stuff go down with their parents.
Even getting past the fact that Vision should absolutely be dead and the pregnancy only took about 24 hours, Wanda’s pregnancy should be raising questions due to Vision’s general biology. Vision may be capable of all kinds of feats, but he’s not really a human being and shouldn’t be able to put a bun in the oven. He’s just a pile of synthetic flesh grafted onto vibranium with an Infinity Stone on his forehead and the copied personality of a dead butler.
In the comics, Vision’s origins were just as convoluted. Also a “synthezoid,” the comics version of Vision was a special kind of high tech that was so advanced that he was nearly human in design. Mentally and emotionally, he was human enough, although his brain was copied from the personality of Wonder Man (a character whose only MCU appearance is movie posters in a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 deleted scene). He truly loved Wanda and was capable of performing under the covers, but impregnating her? That was an awful lot to ask us to buy.
Scarlet Witch’s mutant powers allow her to alter probability, so maybe she could take a longshot like Vision knocking her up and make it work. While they were working on that, they had a little adventure where they were kidnapped by the magical villain group the Salem Seven. During the climax of the battle, Scarlet Witch absorbed a bunch of magic and the ghost of Agatha Harkness (Wanda’s mentor in magic) told her to harness it and use it however she saw fit. Wouldn’t you know it, in the next issue, she was pregnant!
Sorry if that last paragraph was a lot.
Billy and Tommy
Wanda would give birth to twins, Thomas and William. She and Vision would join the West Coast Avengers and things would go to shit. In one storyline, Vision would not only have his entire personality erased, but he’d be dismantled and autopsied to show that he was more mechanical than originally thought. It was writer Jim Starlin’s way of saying, “This is dumb. He absolutely cannot father children. Stop it.”
There was weird stuff going on with the twins too. When Wanda wasn’t around, her kids would just cease to exist. It wasn’t them fiddling with magic. It was the idea that they weren’t truly real and they were part of Wanda’s consciousness. Soon she discovered the truth about Billy and Tommy.
That truth is…um…really, really complicated. There’s stuff involving Mephisto and Franklin Richards and Master Pandemonium, who has the power of baby hands. And not the kind of baby hands that Donald Trump and Teen Titans Go Robin have. I mean that literal babies Billy and Tommy became his hands. It’s wacky.
Wanda did not take this news well and briefly turned villain because of it. It was a whole mess that involved her sexually assaulting Wonder Man. They ended up mindwiping Wanda of the whole incident, including her having kids to begin with. Ah, mindwiping. The superhero trope that never, ever ends well over time. Just ask Dr. Light and Batman.
Vision and Wanda returned to their usual soap opera filler stuff until Brian Michael Bendis decided that he wanted to freshen up the Avengers as a concept. In the big storyline Avengers: Disassembled, Scarlet Witch regained her memories, went a little nutty, and decided to have a whole bunch of stuff go wrong at once by abusing her powers against her so-called teammates. I’m talking alien invasions, She-Hulk losing control of her rage, Ultron attacks, exploding zombies, Tony Stark having a drunken rant at the UN, etc. She was stopped in a very anticlimactic fashion and the Avengers just decided that they were done being a thing.
Wiccan and Speed
A new Avengers team (now with mainstream appeal!) would show up months later and in the meantime, a group of teenagers tried to pick up the slack themselves. A younger version of the time-traveling villain Kang the Conqueror came to the present under the name Iron Lad and put together a team of heroes called the Young Avengers. One of these heroes was Wiccan, a boy named Billy with magical powers and reality warping, which were awakened after a mysterious meeting with Scarlet Witch.
At one point, he came across a troubled teen with speedster powers named Tommy who, despite having different parents, looked exactly like Billy but with white hair (white hair and super speed being part of Wanda’s brother Pietro’s whole deal). Iron Lad explained that not only were the two twins, but they were Wanda’s twins.

Yes, it seems that although the babies existed under questionable circumstances, they did actually have souls and those souls found other ways to live on. We don’t actually know the full story of how the connection works. Did the souls overtake existing children? Did the souls go back in time a few years to be reborn?
While unexplained, Billy and Tommy live on as the heroes Wiccan and Speed. After House of M, Marvel started to back away from Scarlet Witch being a villain and eased her back into heroism, including having her connect with her sort-of-children.
Now, we already know that the parenthood in WandaVision is going to end very, very badly for the mother and father. Ignoring Wanda’s desperate control over reality, there’s seemingly some kind of mysterious, cult-like reason for the twins to be born. Yes, there will indeed be tragedy.
On the other hand, Billy and Tommy may see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not only lining up some torch passing, but we’re seeing various setups for the Young Avengers to take form.
We already have a teen version of Cassie Lang. The Hawkeye series is going to be about Kate Bishop taking up the mantle. The third Ant-Man and the Wasp movie will introduce Kang the Conqueror, which could in turn lead to his younger self appearing. Eventual team member Miss America is supposed to be in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There are even rumors and theories that Patriot will be appearing in some form in Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Billy and Tommy were born fast and so they might be crime-fighting teenagers sooner than we realize.
