happy sunday friends!! i’ve had a fairly productive morning, writing out some catch up lectures notes + starting to make flashcards on quizlet for arabic. I also think I’m going to start reading blade runner because I haven’t read something recreationally in ages. I have to go to work in a little bit so I plan on completing my to do list when I get back (hopefully).

ideally I’d like to rest on sundays but I’ve been sick this past week, so today is unfortunately a study day for me.

tumblr was being an ass yesterday and wouldn’t let me upload this?? anyhoo, a brief snapshot of my day yesterday! it wasn’t too busy thankfully, just a lecture and a meeting with my seminar leader to talk about the essay I have due on saturday. I hope it goes well because it’s the first ever one I’m writing for that module!

it was my 20th birthday today and i just wanted to write this as something my future self could hopefully look back on :’)

i’m no longer a teenager and this concept is still so !?!?? like whaaaat?? nothing seems different but it also does?? something’s shifted but not in a bad way. i hope my 20th year treats me kindly and i can’t wait to continue growing into the best version of myself 🌷

my friends sent me such wonderful birthday wishes today and i was reminded of how many loving ppl i’m surrounded with in my life and i’m so so grateful for each and every one of them 🥰

i’ve emerged from under my rock!! hello wonderful people, it’s been a minute...or two... or like six months. BUT ! i’m hopefully going to be much more active in posting now that university is starting in about a week, and i’m so excited! :-)

i thought it would only be appropriate to share the fave corner of my room which is FINALLY done. we moved into this house in january but i feel like i’ve only just settled in :’) yesterday, i gave my bookshelf a thorough dusting and cleaning and i’ve set up my new desk too! i can already feel the productive vibes coming through. i still need to jazz up the walls a little but it’s just small things left.

exciting news!!

20.02.18:

hello friends! long time no see, I know. idek if anyone will read this but I want to put it up anyway. so I haven’t posted in a good while now and basically, I really wasn’t enjoying my course at all... it took me some time to realise that that was okay and sometimes you make a few mistakes before you end up where you actually want to be.

after sending a bajillion emails and pestering lots of admin-y people, I found out that the only way I could transfer courses in the same uni was applying through ucas again which was super annoying but I was determined to at least try. I didn’t want to spend my entire life thinking ‘’what if I had applied and gotten in??’’ so I went ahead and applied and just yesterday, I found out that my uni had offered me an UNCONDITIONAL PLACE TO STUDY ENGLISH!!!!!!!

I’m honestly beyond happy and relieved because I know that’s truly what I want to do and study and I’m so so grateful I’ve been given a place. so now, the plan is to drop out, work for a few months and then start afresh in september as an english student!!!

moral of the story: do everything you can in your power to pursue whatever your goal is. don’t feel stumped if you get no for an answer the first time. if you’re determined enough, and if it’s meant to be, it’ll all work out in your favour!
