Sweet as Chocolate (Zyglavis/MC)

That morning, Zyglavis had got ready in rather more of a rush than usual. He had already had to postpone spending time with his Wife once this month, and this time he wanted to make sure that absolutely nothing could get in the way of it. The earlier he started his duties, the more likely it would be that he would finish promptly and get to Earth in time to pick ___ up from the planetarium.

He paid little heed to the slight glances his subordinates were giving in his direction whenever they had reason to speak to him, what mattered most was that he focussed on his work.

Thankfully everything went smoothly for once. Even his meeting with the Wishes department did not degrade too far into a disagreement between himself and Leon. Though he suspected he might actually have his Highness to thank for that - the lion’s mind was clearly on whatever nonsense the King had asked him to do that morning.

Finishing off the work he needed to do at his personal reflecting pool in his room, Zyglavis snapped his fingers to open his door as someone knocked.

“Zig, shouldn’t you be going?”

Looking up from the pool and over to his Vice Minister, Zyglavis’ eyes widened a little. Whilst things had been going smoothly, it was still a busy day. Scorpio was right, he should have left by now. He glanced pensively to the side. “There’s still one or two…”

“One or two? That’s far better than usual. Get the hell out of here, I’ve got this.”

Zyglavis didn’t argue. Handing Scorpio the remainder of the list with a curt nod in way of thanks, he hurried off.

___ looked around as she left the planetarium, her heart sinking a little when she saw no one in sight. Was Zyglavis going to have to call off their meeting again? She understood if he did but that didn’t mean she wasn’t disappointed.

As she started to walk toward home, however, she suddenly heard a familiar voice call out her name. Whirling round, she rushed over to Zyglavis. “You’re here!”

“Indeed. My apologies… I was so focussed on making sure everything was done so that we could have this evening in peace that I did not realise the time…”

About to comment on Zyglavis of all people being late, ___’s eyes widened as she noticed something else.

“___ ? Is there something the matter?” Zyglavis asked, a little puzzled by her shocked expression.

“No, not at all,” ___ reassured softly with a caring smile. Stepping forward, she reached her hands up and straightened his tie. “You really were focussed on tonight though, huh?” she remarked. “In fact… you do know you’re still in your work uniform?”

Zyglavis glanced to the side, heat rising to his cheeks. The glances he had got earlier suddenly made sense. In his rush this morning he must have not straightened his tie, and in his haste to make sure he got to his wife before she left the area where the planetarium was he had not considered that he would usually change his attire before meeting her. “I… no wonder the others were behaving slightly oddly. I cannot believe I did not put my uniform on to full standards…”

___ laughed lightly. “Have you seen how the others of your department wear their uniform? I don’t think a slightly wonky tie is anything to be worried about! Although I suppose I am curious how  that even happens when you can change clothes by snapping your fingers…”

“... I’m supposed to set an example though,” Zyglavis muttered, his tone a little frustrated. “I had a meeting with Wishes today too…”

Taking his hand in her own, ___ squeezed it gently. “Zyglavis. If Leon had noticed, don’t you think he would have commented on it?”

Zyglavis relaxed a little as his wife reassured him, then finally managed a smirk. “Yes, he would. Though you were commenting on the state of Punishments’ uniforms just now, Wishes have an even worse problem.” Checking that there was no one else around, Zyglavis snapped his fingers and changed into his Earth attire. 

“Shall we go?” ___ asked him softly.

Now finally at ease, Zyglavis inclined his head in agreement. “You mentioned you had a surprise you had planned for earlier this month when I was unfortunately unavoidably detained…”

___ smiled gently at him, holding his hand tightly as they walked. “I did. We’ve missed their grand opening but… oh you’ll soon see…”

Zyglavis frowned a little, but did not press any further. If his wife wanted to surprise him then he would let her.

After a short but pleasant walk through part of the city, ___ eventually slowed down by a row of restaurants and shops. This was not an area of the place that Zyglavis could recall heading to before.

About to enquire what was so special about this particular area, Zyglavis looked up as ___ came to a full halt and nodded towards the clearly brand new signage. His eyes widened. “... A dessert parlour…”

Smiling brightly at him, ___ got a flyer out of her handbag and handed it to him.

Zyglavis’ breath hitched as he saw what their featured item had been on their grand opening flyer. “Their star product is…”

“Their chocolate ganache parfait, yes,” ___ finished, her eyes glinting with joy at her husband's reaction.

“Well then, we best make sure they live up to their claims. Shall we?”

___ nodded in agreement, and headed inside with him.

Zyglavis plans a birthday surprise for his wife but not everything go as planned and he gets a surprise instead.

Written for Year of the OTP January Prompt: “Whenever I look at you…” from @yearoftheotpevent, FluffMonthly January's Prompt: January from @flufftober (where I live it was still January when I finished this, posting is what ran late) and Voltage Content Creation Callenge Prompt: Throwing them a surprise birthday party from @voltagefandomproject that served as a little extra inspiration to make this fic what it is, but mainly written for Feather's birthday.

So, Happy Birthday, Feather! (a little later because my computer and internet wouldn't let me post it on time) Here's a little gift for you! Thank you for running this blog with me and for being my inspiration to be here!

Zyglavis had never paid any particular attention to dates before he started dating and later married a human woman. He was aware of human holidays that made the gods’ work more difficult, but it wasn’t like he kept track of them before.

With her, though, these had become important events to remember. He was usually still busy, but Zyglavis made sure he could spend at least a few hours by the side of his beloved and picked out gifts when appropriate.

Not only holidays, but other personal dates. One of them the turn of the year that she insisted they spent together, and that also signaled the beginning of her vacation.

She made a point to take her vacation at the same time every year and spend the entire January with him so they could start the year together.

And that wasn’t the only reason the month was special, but also because her birthday was at the end of it.

Gods didn’t have the habit of celebrating birthdays, or of keeping track of them, but Zyglavis knew how important it was for his human partner. So he had already made plans for their date. Plans that were ruined from the morning by a message on her phone.

“Is it work?” Zyglavis asked, seeing his wife frown at her phone’s screen, then sigh.

“Three people called in sick today and they are understaffed. I was really looking forward to today but… sorry. At least it seems I won’t be leaving too late.”

She really looked down and Zyglavis was tempted to snap his fingers and solve the situation, but he knew what she would say about that. So he only hugged her.

“Work is work. You don’t have to apologize.” She snuggled in his chest and Zyglavis combed his fingers through her hair. “It is now what we were expecting, but I’ll pick you up after work and we’ll spend the rest of the day together.”

They stayed in each other’s arms until they realized she would be late.

As he watched her hurrying to get ready, Zyglavis thought of how ironic it was. Back when they were dating, and even sometimes after, it was always him who had to change plans or put them on hold because of work. She had never complained and was always careful of not asking too much from him. She never held it against him either, even if they spent months without seeing each other.

It wasn’t the first time the situation was reversed but, usually they didn’t have big plans when it happened.

Zyglavis used his powers to take his wife to work, then tried to decide on a new plan for her birthday.

Humans usually threw parties to celebrate these dates, but he didn’t want to share the little time they had with anyone, and she was outgrowing big gatherings herself.

But what about a small, private party? He didn’t know much about cooking by hand, but enough to bake her a cake. As long as he had a recipe, Zyglavis was good at following instructions and they had done that together a few times, enough for him to learn something.

Decorations he would have to do with his powers, but that didn’t seem like a problem. And he had already gotten a gift for her. He just had to choose a nice, romantic place. They couldn’t go far the human way, but Zyglavis believed she wouldn’t mind if he transported them there, considering the time they had.

So the major work was actually baking. He choose a recipe a little fancier than the one they used to bake together - which might have been a little ambitious of him, but Zyglavis was confident in what he had learned, living with her for two years, not counting the time they spent dating - which meant he had to use his powers to get some ingredients there weren’t in the kitchen.

The hard part was using kitchen appliances like a mixer. There weren’t proper instructions on how to assemble and use it, and working together meant his attention was usually somewhere else while his wife handled the contraption.

At least, since they started living together, Zyglavis had a kitchen in his room, so no one else needed to know how the first attempt went and the mess was cleaned with a snap. And Zyglavis learned fast from his mistakes, so the cake was ready with time to spare.

Zyglavis did some research on birthday party decorations and spots he could set their little party on and ended up settling for a place in the heavens rather than on Earth.

They usually lived in the gods’ mansion on Earth most of the year because it was easier for his wife to go to and from work on her own, so it was a good idea to spend the last moments of her vacation month in the heavens too.

When it came the time to pick his wife at work, Zyglavis was waiting for her but she wasn’t coming out, until he was informed she had passed out and was taken to the hospital.

Worried, Zyglavis snapped his fingers as soon as he was out of anyone’s sight, transporting himself to the indicated hospital to find her leaving and looking perfectly fine.

“Are you hurt? Why didn’t you call to me?” He immediately went to check her for injuries, but she hugged him instead.

“I’m fine, Zyglavis. I just got careless and ended up eating too many sweets in the last few days, and my blood pressure went down.” She laughed. “I didn’t want to worry you since it wasn’t serious.”

Well, she had complained about eating too much sweets a couple of days before, but she was complaining because she wasn’t exercising as much as she used to either and was afraid of gaining weight, not because it might make her ill, although he had advised her to cut a little on them, because he knew too many sweets wasn’t good for humans.

Although he could tell she wasn’t lying, there was a discreet tension in her eyes and voice.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. You don’t have to worry. Are we going home?”

“No. Since our plans had to be changed, I have a surprise for you. If you feel fine enough for it.”

She nodded and hugged him, which he took as an opportunity to transport them to a beautiful flower field in the heavens, where he had already decorated like he’d seen humans do.

“Wow! This is so beautiful.” She hugged him tighter. “Thank you, love.”

“It is our own private party. I used my powers to decorate, but I made the cake myself.”

“Cake?” She pulled away. “What cake?”

Chuckling, Zyglavis snapped his fingers before she could turn around, transporting the cake from his room and materializing a lit candle.

He’d made a small, three tiered chocolate ganache cake, not too sweet because she had been complaining about her recent eating habits.

“I know this isn’t half of what I promised you, but…”

“This is more than enough. Since I had to work, I was thinking we would just spend time together at home, but you threw me a party in a beautiful place. And you really made this cake without your powers! What else could I want?”

“But you are not entirely happy, my goddess. What is it?”

She didn’t think he hadn’t noticed the way her body tensed and her eyes only settled on him for a short time before darting around, did she?

“I just didn’t know how to bring it up…” She turned away, then back to him, but looking down, her voice low and cautious. “It is true that I had pressure problems because of the sweets, but that’s not everything…” She ran a hand through her hair and Zyglavis pulled her into his arms.

“Take a deep breath. Whatever it is, you can tell me.”

“I lost track of time for being in the heavens for a while and… I completely forgot to take my medicine on time…” Zyglavis knew where this was going before she finished and understood her nervousness all too well, so he hugged her even tighter. “Zyglavis?” She asked, surprised and worried.

“Are you happy?” was all he could ask, good and bad situations crossing his mind.

“I should be… no. I am happy. I’m going to have a child with the man I love. Why wouldn’t I be?” She pulled back just enough to look him in the eyes, nervousness being replaced by determination and delight, that reflected exactly his last thoughts. “I know demigods are taboo in the heavens and that having this child won’t be easy, but this is the ideal life I always dreamed of but tried to ignore because I told myself we couldn’t… but we have overcome so much together already. Our love was forbidden from the start, but here we are, married and happy. And, you know, whenever I look at you, I feel like everything will be alright. It will be difficult, but our love can overcome any challenge in the end.”

Her words reflected his exact thoughts, and Zyglavis couldn’t help but kiss her.

“Yes. We’ll get through this together as a family. It won’t be easy, but I’ll do everything in my power to take care of you and this child and make you happy.”

“I know you will, and I will be the one to protect you. Like a family should.”

A family! Zyglavis had never entertained the thought, even after they got married. Every little step of their relationship had been marked by dangerous challenges, and this one might, too. But, now that it was happening, he would fight to keep that new fragment of happiness in their lives.

To think he would go so far to break so many of the heavens’ laws for the love of that woman. A human he shouldn’t have even met, but now he couldn’t live without. It was truly a miracle they had gone so far, and they would continue doing so for as long as they lived.

“Oh, the candle is melting!” She suddenly exclaimed. “Can’t have this cake going to waste when you have gone to so much trouble to make it.” She laughed and kissed him.

“And now we have one more reason to celebrate.” He interlaced his fingers with hers and the two walked to the blanket he’d set down like it was a picnic.

“Yeah. Thank you for supporting me, my love.” She turned her attention back to the cake and blew the candle. “My only wish is for our future happiness. And I can tell you that, because I know you’re the only one who can make it come true.”

Zyglavis kissed her again, each kiss deeper than the other.

“Happy birthday, my goddess.”

“Thank you for making it a happy day, because it wouldn’t be that happy without you.”

“We are the same, then.”

Because he would never be so happy if he hadn’t met her. He was a better god and a better man with her and their growing family could only make him keep growing as both, so no matter how many challenges they faced, Zyglavis knew nothing bad could come of their love.

YOUR ICHTHYS x DUI STORY GAVE ME AN IDEA. Well, it's an idea that's been in my head for a while, but you made it come back, so I'll share it with your amazing self because I want your opinions on these two!! Because seeing early Ikky and Dui put me in a pretty gay, pre-MC mood. ☺️

So, similar idea, but with Zyglavis and Scorpio when Scorpio first ascended to godhood. ✨ I'm just imagining the King handing off Scorpio to Zyglavis like "This is yours now. Fix it." Because really, Scorpio doesn't know how to be his own person; he was raised following orders like a puppet and now Zyglavis suddenly has to teach this new god how to be a god.

And Zyglavis is obviously much kinder than those nasty humans he was with so Scorpio is low-key clingy and protective of Zyglavis. (I feel like that's where his rivalry with Leon comes from... One day, Leon was provoking Zyglavis into another fight and Scorpio jumped in like the guard dog that he is; at first, the little human-turned-god amused Leon but things always escalate quickly between those two.) It doesn't help that literally all of the gods are biased against Scorpio for being human but he's so hyperfixated on beoming a better god for Zyglavis that he doesn't notice all the human slander.

Then Scorpio feels oddly possessive over everything Zyglavis 'owns', that includes the Department of Punishments(hell if he's gonna let some loud-mouth lion slander Zyg's department~).

But also... Punishing humans?? PuNiShiNg tHoSE FiLthY CrEaTuREs?? Count him in!!!

So after displaying a large amount of loyalty and dedication to Zyglavis to the Department of Punishments, the King decides Scorpio can be Zyglavis' vice-minister. And no one understands why, this guy's literally been here for two months and doesn't understand that gods don't need to sleep.

But... Yeah, amidst all of this, Scorpio developed a tight-knit relationship with Zyglavis. ✨ And I saw you were taking requests and I want your unrestrained opinion and thoughts!!!! Pretty please with all of Dui's cherries on top! 🍒

OMG THIS IS TAKING EVERYTHING IN ME NOT TO JUST DO A ✨KEYSMASH✨ AND ADD MEMES, BECAUSE IT'S SO GOOD.😭💝 (I'm trying my best to communicate like a normal goldfish human here, lol)

(Also, just a little detail I have thought of which you most likely already have too. Scorpio would probably be a bit wary about making mistakes at first, because he would think that just like in his human life, Zyglavis or the king or something, will torture him for his mistakes and stuff. So when Zyglavis reacts kindly, he'd get an emotion and he'd be like- "huh??? Da fuck is that??? A heart attack???" Not knowing he's experiencing a feel🤧)

Also that's a hella good thought on how Scorpio's and Leon's rivalry came into being. I was actually questioning that some months ago, but I hadn't thought of anything. SO YEAH, I FEEL LIKE YOUR IDEA IS THE ANSWER TO ALL OF MY QUESTIONS!🌸🌷

My unrestrained opinion is that: this thought is wonderfully thought out and the emotional depth you've added, puts the cherry on top! At least for a while, because when Dui spots it, you bet it'll descent into his belly.

Hello, at what time do you usually post? 💝

That would be a good question. If I had the decency to create a schedule for myself.

After I finished college and started job hunting I lost any semblance of time. One day blurs into the next.

So I don't have a single specific time that I post or come online. I'm a natural disaster and just roll in whenever the weather's right.

But not all hope is lost if I can't find a place to hire me part time! In April my workplace opens back up and I'M in charge this year! ✨ Then I'll be back to a normal human schedule of waking up in the morning and going to work until later in the evening. I expect a busy season! 🙏🏻

And then I might be posting at a normal schedule after work hours. Maybe even post during work once the mad pre-season rush is over. 👀 I remember last summer I was sitting in the corner at work writing about what the Gods would order if they came buy a snowball with me. 🤭 I don't know where that draft is but it was one of my whims.

But posting On Wattpad I used to at LEAST post a fic or a chapter of a fic every Friday or Saturday. I've been slow in writing but at the very least I should pick that schedule up again just so I can get through the requests in my inbox while still having time to write my own fanfic ideas.

But... As today is friday, I'll see if I can pull something out of my Google docs before the day ends! ✨ It wouldn't be a problem to get a steady flow of fanfics every other day.... if my fanfics didn't go over 1K words. 💀 It takes so long to write one thing. My problem is that I get too wrapped up in plots. I'm too heavily attached to my drama.

This one SCM x Star Wars fanfic I'm working on as a personal project IS AWESOME SO FAR!! I have the BIGGEST plot twist for MC!!! It's not even close to being finished. I have to work out little details between Zyglavis being Emperor and Leo being the Leader of the Rebel Alliance... But I know MC's gonna be amazing.

This turned out very long for your smol question... 💀 Just like my fanfics... My brain just had too much to say and I love to write. I hope I answered it(whether the answer was good or bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ probably bad. But I'm just biased.)

I don't know day or night anymore so have a good 24 hours! 💕

A/N: Zig please, I'm trying to write fluff. Ahem I hope the fluffiness of this one shines through, I guess you can kinda describe it as fluff to ease internal worrying? 😅

February 11th: Commitment (Zyglavis/MC)

Zyglavis sighed as he worked through a seemingly never-ending punishments list at his personal reflecting pool in his room. He was sure he could trust Dui to tell ___ that he would not be able to make it to Earth tonight after all but that did not mean he liked how startlingly often this had been happening lately. He knew ___ understood his position and the importance of what he did, in fact it sometimes frustrated him that she would back off with her troubles rather than interrupt him when he was busy. He would always find a way to make time for her.

And yet, here he was, still working. Worse still this had been a last minute thing so he had not been able to change their arrangements in advance. 

Before he could ruminate further on whether he should have found a way to see her tonight, Zyglavis was interrupted by a knock at his door. Expecting it to be Scorpio he snapped his fingers to open it. “Is there a problem?” He asked, not turning round from the pool.

“Not unless you count overworking,” came the familiar voice of ___.

Zyglavis sharply turned to face her. Frowning he glanced to the side, his posture stiff. She didn’t seem upset, but… “My apologies. This really could not wait. However I should have thought to find a way to update you in person. The frequency of urgent work recently has been -”

“Zyglavis,” ___ interrupted softly, moving over to him and placing a hand gently on his arm. “I don’t need an apology. That’s not why I’m here.”

“... Was there something you needed to talk about urgently?” Zyglavis asked, his tone now concerned as he returned his gaze to his girlfriend.

“Relax,” ___ sighed. “Not everything has to be a problem.”

Taking a deep breath, Zyglavis finally became less rigid and he looked lovingly at her. However he was still frowning. “I’m glad, but I do have to finish this work. I will not be able to give you any attention.”

___ smiled reassuringly at him. “I don’t mind just spending time with you, you know.”

Zyglavis sighed, but finally relaxed into a smile himself. “Well I cannot say that it is not wonderful to see you. Are you quite certain you are alright just relaxing here whilst I work? What I am doing won’t upset you?”

“It won’t if I don’t look,” ___ pointed out. “But if you want a second opinion I could help.”

“Oh? And do you have an opinion already?” Zyglavis asked, still a little thrown by her being there.

“I think you’ll find I said it when I first came in. You are overworking.”

“Whether I am or not is immaterial when this cannot wait.”

___ rolled her eyes and put her hand on the pile of papers he was still holding. “All of these have to be done tonight or was there just something in particular that needed dealing with and you decided as there was no way you could make it back to Earth at a reasonable time that you might as well do the rest of the work as well?”

“...” Zyglavis looked to the side. He should have known she’d be able to read him this well so far into their relationship. “Technically it does still need doing as it is what I was initially supposed to be doing today.”

There was another knock at the door, and this time it was Scorpio who entered the room. He looked at the Minister of Punishments with a frown. “Tch, I can’t believe that damn problem child was right that you’d still try to do all this shit yourself even after what the King needed us both for earlier. Give the rest of the list here.”

“Scorpio,” Zyglavis snapped. “You have been nearly as busy as -”

“Today, maybe,” Scorpio interrupted, “but not the last time. And anyway I don’t have something else that should have my attention.”

Zyglavis frowned. “But…”

“Dammit, Zig, will you let me do you a favour for once rather than the other way around? The others are worried too, you know.”

“... Ah.” Zyglavis somewhat reluctantly handed the rest of the punishments list over to his Vice Minister. “If anything comes up that you believe needs me, I still expect you to fetch me, clear?”

Scorpio relaxed into a smirk at that. “Very.” He then shot a glance at ___ that seemed to mean ‘you owe me one for this, woman’, before leaving.

Zyglavis sat down on the edge of his bed with ___, sighing softly. He looked at her, still seemingly a little troubled. “Well, now you have got my attention but I’m afraid it is too late to go anywhere.”

“Zyglavis, I said before I was happy just to spend time with you. Besides, we don’t want you going anywhere, we want you to rest.”

Hearing her reassuring words that she was happy to just stay with him in his room, Zyglavis wrapped an arm around her. “Did the others put you up to this?” He asked with slight suspicion, sure that Scorpio wouldn’t have confronted him on his own without her first breaking down his barriers.

“Not exactly,” ___ murmured, leaning into his embrace. “But, um… you see… after Dui gave me your message, there was a certain comment that made the others leap to your defence and it suddenly became clear that you’d been making sure to help everyone else as well still as well as your usual duties on top of this extra assignment…”

Zyglavis was initially puzzled and then he scowled. “Did that wretched Lion imply that I do not value you?! Because if he did -”

___ laughed lightly. “I don’t care what Leon thinks. I know you care for me. No doubt you spent tonight before I got here worrying that you hadn’t even been able to cancel in person?”

“...” Zyglavis couldn’t find any way to respond to that, knowing that she was correct. “So what actually happened? Much as I trust my Vice Minister I very much doubt he would have agreed to bring you up here if you’d just asked.”

“... Well like I said all the others were defending your decision, but as you may have gathered from what Scorpio said Ichthys was the one who bought up you wouldn’t even leave the normal work, but in regards as to who actually put the idea into Scorpio’s head that he should take the list off you? I think that was actually Huedhaut.”

Zyglavis’ eyes widened a little in surprise. “I beg your pardon?”

___ laughed. “Oh I doubt Scorpio even realises that that was what happened, but one minute Huedhaut was being condescending to Leon regarding commenting on your work ethic considering how often he disappears on Karno, and the next Scorpio was grabbing my hand snapping that if I still wanted to come up here he’d come with me to get away from the nonsense everyone else was spouting.”

“... Pfft…” Zyglavis broke into a wide smile. “I may have to ask someone to show me a vision of that later. Still…” he sighed. “I suppose this shows just how buried in my work I have been recently for both departments to make comments tonight. My apologies for -” Zyglavis cut off as ___ leant forward and captured his lips in a brief kiss. “... ___ ?”

“I told you before that I didn’t need an apology,” ___ murmured softly. “Besides, I think that’s enough talk of the others and work tonight don’t you?”

Zyglavis smirked at her. “True. I suppose you still wish me to get some ‘rest’.”

___ nudged him lightly for that suggestive comment. “Yes, rest, like I said,” she replied firmly. However she then reached into her bag and pulled out a neatly wrapped package. “Here. I was going to give you this tonight.”

“What’s the occasion?” Zyglavis wondered as he undid the wrapping.

“Does there have to be one?”

Zyglavis shook his head slightly, then looked down at what he was holding. It was a box of chocolates with parfait filling, including ganache ones. “I hardly deserve these right now…”

“Of course you do,” ___ murmured, wrapping her own arms around him now. “I picked them up simply cos I happened to see a display of them at the convenience store and I thought of you. I could have saved them for some special occasion but you have been working so hard, this is exactly what you need right now.”

“But I do not have anything to give you in return.”

___ smiled softly. “You do not need to give me anything. I did this because I wanted to. All I want from you right now is to slow down a little. The Gods may not need sleep but you’ve been working so hard you did not even notice…” she quickly trailed off.

“Notice what?” Zyglavis asked, frowning.

“I promised I wouldn’t say anything,” ___ muttered.

Zyglavis sighed heavily. “From your tone I am certain it is something  that Ichthys has done. Well, he should be glad I am in a forgiving mood as I will not ask you anything further pertaining to that. Just tell him that the next time he pulls a prank I will not be so lenient.”

Laughing lightly, ___ leant over and kissed him once more.

Not that they wanted people to know. It is a lot less trouble this way, especially for their work.

But sometimes Zyglavis doubted Leon really bothered with keeping the relationship between the two of them hidden.

One day, Zyglavis still had some paperwork to finish when their girlfriend arrived at the mansion, although he was the one who agreed to go out with her that night. She was very patient and sat by his side while he finished, when Leon unceremoniously sat on her other side and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

“Looks like Minister Ponytail would rather pay attention to his work than you. What about I treat you, instead?” He teased.

Zyglavis would have ignored him, but the verbal teasing wasn’t the problem. The problem was the feeling of fingertips ghosting the back of his neck, followed by a wave of pleasure washing over him.

Leon was using his powers on him, with other gods in the living room.

Zyglavis tried to act normal, but his body stiffened and he swallowed hard when Leon used his powers again.

If the three of them were in private, he would have pushed Leon down and taken charge of the little ‘game’ he was trying to play.

Their girlfriend noticed quickly and casually pulled Leon away from him.

“You know what? Why don’t I make you some meatballs while Zyglavis finishes his work?”

Zyglavis was relieved when Leon relented. Luckily, no one seemed to have noticed the incident.

Of course that wasn’t the first or last time Leon used their girlfriend as cover to tease him, or tried to discreetly tease him in front of the others when he thought he could get away with it.

Their girlfriend always insisted it was Leon’s way of showing affection. He was always touching her, even if she got embarrassed when he did it in public, but they were open about their relationship and could do it freely.

Did Zyglavis ever want this kind of public relationship with Leon? Maybe. Sometimes he wished it was easier. He had to fall in love with a god from the Department of Wishes and Leon out of them all!

Sometimes, when Zyglavis got really tired of Leon’ antics, he used his own powers against him. Not in petty or childish revenge, it is just his way of returning his partner’s affections.

The best thing about his method was that it was a way to be closer to his partners when he couldn’t be there. The only problem was that it was distracting.

His shadow could go anywhere, most other gods didn’t notice its presence, and Zyglavis could feel anything through it. He would usually send it to Leon when neither of them were working but were otherwise unable to meet.

Their relationship was complicated, teasing and competitive, with their girlfriend as the balance between them, but that didn’t mean the two weren’t close. Their way of showing it was just different and they bridged the distance the way they could.

Their girlfriend was also very happy to help the way she could, because she loved seeing her boyfriends together, giving them the opportunities they hadn’t to show their affections for each other in whatever way they could, since they didn’t have as much time for each other as they had for her. At least that was what she always told them, with a smile and soft kisses. And then their usual teasing sometimes turned into a show for her when she was around.

They had such an unusual and unlikely relationship, but no matter how strange other people would think it was, that relationship was born of love and respect under the visible layer of rivalry. One day they might come out and tell everyone but, for now, they would enjoy their secret touches.

Another request, for the same person.

Zyglavis from Star Crossed Myth, again I’m not really sure if this is okay and accurate.  but I wanted to try writing it anyway.

Hiyori quickly rushed out the door after saying her goodbyes to you, leaving you to lock up by yourself.  She had a date so you volunteered to cover for her, after all, your only plans for the night was to sit at home alone, hoping Zyglvais would show up, but a month had passed with him being a no show.  You, of course, understood how busy he was being the minister of the department of punishments, but he was entitled to a break every once in a while.  Maybe he was talking breaks, just not with you.  You shook that thought from your mind, he loves spending time with you,  he said so himself.  

Once you had finished tidying up, you headed off home.  It was dark, cold and a little eerie, you instinctively pulled your coat tighter around you.  Happy to get home and just in time too, as rain fell hard.  You got changed into something more comfortable, but subconsciously still kept in neat just in case, before getting comfortable in front of the TV.  

You must have fallen asleep because the next thing you knew it was morning and Zgylavis was a no show.  Again.  No matter, you had plans today anyway, it is your day off and you were going to have Lunch with Hiyori, to get all the ‘juicy gossip’  before that though you needed to give your home a once over, jump in the shower and get dressed. You had no time to sulk about not seeing Zyglavis.

“Zyglavis would be proud” you mumbled to yourself taking in how spotless your home now was, you jumped in the shower, straight out to get dressed.  Subconsciously you dressed up a bit, as if you were trying to impress someone, not that you had any intention of drawing attention to yourself, especially from the opposite sex, it was more you were hoping Zyglavis would visit.  

The cafe you were meeting your best friend it wasn’t far from work, it was a quaint spot, but stylish and rather lively.  It was lovely, your immediate thought was ‘Zyglavis would like it here’ you were thinking about him a lot.  Thankfully Hiyori showed up before you could dwell on matters any more.  

“Y/N” She chirped.  There was a bounce in her step so you guessed the date went well.  The two of you had only just grabbed a seat when she started chatting away about how lovely it was, you listened intently, please that she had such a good night, but then your mood changed, hearing Hiyori talking so happily, made you miss Zyglavis more and more, but you put on a fake smile, not wanting to let Hiyori know you were feeling down, but she say right through it.  

“Hey Y/N, you okay?” she asked.  Suddenly.

“Yeah, I’m fine, tell me more about last night” you lied.

“It’s about Zyglavis, isn’t it?” she asked, ignoring your question.  She saw right through you.

“It’s nothing, don’t worry about it” you continued, putting on your biggest smile.

“When was the last time you two went on a date?” she asked,

“I haven’t seen him in almost a month” you finally confessed.

“A MONTH!”  Hiyori repeated.

“Well he’s really busy with work, dedicated you know” you defended.  

“And here’s me gushing over my date”

You made it clear you were okay with it, and questioned her further, changing the subject.

After lunch, you wondered home alone.  You decided you weren’t going to ‘wait’ for him to show up, you had a life and you were going to get on with it, and when he did visit you were going to give him a piece of your mind.  With new determination, you changed your mind about going home, deciding to go out instead, maybe the museum, there was a new exhibition this week, that you wanted to see.  The art was interesting, but you enjoyed it,  afterwards, you still didn’t feel like going home, so you wandered around the shops for a while, but that only kept you entertained for a while, you were going to have to go home.  Once there you got changed into the most comfortable and least attractive clothes you had.  You hadn’t worn them since before you started dating Zyglavis, you were too embarrassed by them, with their holes and bleach stains.  You made yourself something to eat and plopped down in front of the TV.

Surely it wouldn’t be another month before you would see Zyglavis right?’  you slapped your cheeks gently trying to snap yourself out of these negative thoughts.  

“He’s just busy” you repeated a few times to yourself.  Suddenly there was a wrap at your balcony window. A little scream left your lips before you realised who it was.  

Zyglavis stood at the window with an eyebrow raised.  You blinked a few times, making sure you weren’t imagining things, before sliding it open to let him in.

“What, uh why” you stuttered.  You looked down at yourself, painfully aware of how badly dressed you were, and now you were very much embarrassed.  Zgylavis didn’t seem to notice though, either that or he was just being too polite to say anything.  

“I’ve missed you,” he said sweetly.  Hearing that made you want to swing your arms around him, but you also wanted him to know that you were upset too.

“Really?” you asked. Trying not to sound too happy.  Zyglavis noticed your tone.

“I’ve neglected you, let me make it up to you” his tone was soft, sweet even, but you weren’t going to let him off that easy.

“How?” you asked, you accidentally made eye contact with him, he looked generally upset, you felt guilty seeing his expression.

“By spending the week alone with you” he smiled, seeing you giving in.  you weren’t sure you heard him right.

“What?” you asked for clarification

Zyglavis stepped closer,

“I’ve been working overtime to make sure I could take some time off” he explained.  You were no longer upset, how could you be.

“I’m sorry” you apologised.

“It should be me apologised Y/N, I should have at least told you” he stepped closer again, he was still gauging you expression, worried you were still upset.  

“It’s okay, I just missed you” you smiled sweetly.  Zyglavis held out his arms for you, which you happily accepted.  Pressing your face to his chest and tightly wrapping your arms around him, while he did the same.  You were so happy right now, that was until you remembered what you were wearing. You quickly pulled away, shocking the god,  

“Something wrong?” he asked,

“I’m just going to get changed” you stuttered.  Reaching for some neater clothes.

“Why?” Zyglavis asked, looking you up and down.

“Because I looked bad” you replied.

Zyglavis smirked,

“Y/N, You looked beautiful, like always” he stated, he grabbed hold of your wrists pulling you towards him.  He pressed his lips to yours.  The kiss was so passionate, you could feel how much he missed you in it, you only hoped you could express the same.  

“If you really want to take it off, then I won't stop you,” Zyglavis said, with a smirk. Your blush only deepened.

“No-o, what?” you stuttered.  Certain you knew what he meant really.  Zyglavis wore an amused expression.  He always thought you were adorable, but more so now, however, no matter how tempting you were, he wasn’t going to act on it, he wanted to wait.

So instead, the two of you snuggled.  In bed, with the TV on in the background, neither of you talked. So it wasn’t long before you drifted off into a peaceful slumber, wrapped up in Zyglavis arms.  While you slept, Zyglavis finally felt he could relax, Gods may not get tired, but even he needed this, he decided to close his eyes, letting himself indulge in a nap.

Okay so how would you rate the gods from most to least jealous type?

Most Jealous: 

Leon - He is very possessive and he will go to great lengths to prove that. No one touches what belongs to him. No sharing. Leon would not be scared to fight with someone who’s hitting on his girl. Big X.

Huedhaut - His stories are so steamy, I swear. He hides his emotions, but deep down he is jealoussss. He doesn’t like guys getting close to MC at all. If she allows that, expect to not be able to walk the next day.

Teorus - Teo is such a baby when if comes to this. Making the other gods treats? What about him? He needs to know he is the only one loved or else he will become a pouty Teo. Plus,... he’s scary angry. 

Dui - It’s all fun and games until his shadow side comes out. Suddenly, MC is against the wall looking into the eyes of a smirking, devious god. Try not to let those ovaries explode, okay? 

Ichthys - Things can get messy if he catches a guy suddenly all over MC. He hates that. He wants to be the only one to make her laugh and be that close to her. No one else. How dare that person.

 Zyglavis - On the outside, he’s calm and no one can tell he’s mad. But, MC knows. She knows what he’s thinking. He doesn’t like the other gods pulling her this way or that. Stay with him. Don’t get caught up in their antiques. 

Scorpio - Honestly a tie with Zyglavis. He won’t tell anyone out loud, but his face and balled up fists are a dead give away. Those other gods are just a nuisance to him. Ugh, that problem child is dragging her away!

Aigonorus - He will casually pull MC closer by the waist, be more touchy, and give subtle glares to anyone who looks at her when jealous. He’s not vocal about it, but he makes it known with his cute, angry face.

Tauxolouve - He trusts MC. He does, but trusting others is hard. Those people are just too close to her right now. Why do they look so happy talking to her? Ugh, how obnoxious of them. That’s HIS pretty lady.

Krioff - He is brusque. Does it matter to him they are in public? No. He will pull her close to him and make out with her like no one is watching. That’s what people get for flirting with MC when he’s right there. 

Karno - He would be the calmest about the turn of events, but deep down he would be upset. I have no doubt he would strike up a conversation with them with his plastered smile... casually mentioning MC’s taken. 

Partheno - No one would dare mess with such a beautiful god and his partner..  None of the gods can deny his beauty, could they ever top him? No, and he knows this, but that won’t stop him from showing MC off. Finesse.

Prompt 27. MC x Zyglavis.

NOTE: I wrote this without having read the 1st anniversary sub. When I finally did read it, I was like “well, shit… how did I know that was going to happen?”

I’m home this weekend and felt the need to bake. It’s cooler now so I must be in hibernation mode. I am eating so much, I’m sure I’ve gotten fat. I better bring these to the guys before I eat them all. Muffins, cookies, buns and other pastries, all themed to what the guys like. I must be spending way too much time with them because I had no intention of doing that. Packing it all away, I get my coat and things and head out before I start making more.

“[___], you’re here.” Dui looked surprised as I entered the mansion. “Did you need something? Or did one of us call for you?”

“I smell baked things!” Ichthys pokes his head from a doorway. His ever cheeky grin beaming as he sees me with boxes of baked goods.

“Is that why it smells suddenly sweet in here.” Leon was holding a book open as he looked over the second floor balcony. That sensitive nose of his so much like that of his namesake zodiac. “If there isn’t a meatball about in that box of sweet mess, leave me alone.” He turned and went back to his room.

“Just ignore him.” Teorus came and plucked the boxes from my arms. “He’s grouchy without his meatballs.” He started walking away towards the common room.

“Oh, but I did bring some for him,” I said as I took out from my bag a wrapped bundle that contained a container of fresh meatballs in sauce.

And it was gone from my hands. Leon has exceptional hearing when he chooses to listen, after all. I giggle a little and followed the others.

“I see the caravan of troublemakers are all gathered save the head troublemakers.” Zyglavis was sitting in one of the plush chairs, a tea set and tea steaming from a cup set on the side table. When he sees me, his expression of surprise was fleeting, that stern look back before any could comment. “Are you the reason behind this ruckus?”

“Now, now, Ziggy. Don’t blame [___]. After all, she did make all these for us,” Ichthys said as he helped Toerus with the load of pastries.

“She’s practically glowing, after all.” Teorus stresses the word “glowing” and I suddenly felt uneasy for some reason.

Before I could wonder about Teorus’s comment, Dui brought over plates and napkins and Huedhaut appeared, an odd look at me as he approached me. “Are you not well?” Not waiting for my answer, he took my wrist and checked my forehead, doing all the things a doctor would while checking his patient. “You do seem to have the glow.”

“Just say she’s pregnant already,” barked a voice from somewhere. Scorpio is never gentle with words.

I’m flustered, face on fire with embarrassment and eyes wide in shock. Everyone stopped what they were doing and all eyes were on me. I raised my hands flailing in defense. “No, I couldn’t be! It’s just me and winter and eating everything because I’m a bear getting ready for hibernation!” Good job, self. Who would really believe that?

“Our momma bear getting ready to feed her baby! I’m gonna be an uncle!” Ikky snaps his fingers and an instant baby shower is what becomes of the common room.

“Our sweet little Goldie is gonna be a momma fish. I can’t wait.” Teorus hugs me gently, as if my belly was swollen already.

That’s when we heard Zyglavis stand from his seat. Everyone froze and I’m unceremoniously plucked from Teorus’s arms. No words exchanged. Just me getting practically dragged out of the room while the others celebrate the sudden news.

I’m taken to a room far from ears and the door is closed behind us. “Is it true?” Zyglavis has his back to me when he speaks. I wring my hands nervously, not knowing how to answer. “Is it true,” he says again, turning to me and I’m backing up into the door trying to escape the inescapable.

“W-Well, I… I thought it was because it was just Winter and, you know how I can get at times. Forgetting to eat at work helping others with extra tours and I suddenly started baking all these things. I swore I was just getting fat…” I looked towards his face but Zyglavis is unreadable. I feel like shrinking away. How could I not know? My mouth couldn’t stay shut though. “It’s not like we’ve seen each other often and I don’t go anywhere without Hiyori because she knows how important my relationship is with you…” Stop talking, self. It’s not helping.

Now the god has pinned me there with his gaze and I have nothing else to say about all this. It makes so much sense now when I think about it but now I must look like a fat beast to him. Surely a god couldn’t care less about someone like me at this point, his child or not. The silence is killing me. That cold looking stare making me feel like I should crawl somewhere and die. Ugh, I just had to go and share the pastries!

I’m broken from my self loathing when a gentle touch to my cheek wipes away tears I didn’t know I shed. “So then…I’m a father…” The voice was gentle and the look of astonishment was unimaginable. No matter how often I am here working with gods, it never ceases to amaze me that they, too, can be as surprised as anyone else.

I nod, holding that hand to my cheek. “Yes, you are.”

That soft smile Zyglavis has melts all doubts away and warms my heart. “Just for the record, you’re not a fat beast and it would take more than some Winter fat to turn me away from the woman I love.”

“You idiots! What are you doing huddled in the hall?!” Scorpio’s bark vibrated the door I forgot I was leaning against.

The moment ruined, Zyglavis pulled me into his arms and opened the door to reveal Teorus, Ichthys and Dui listening in on the private conversation. “At least Huedhaut isn’t so foolish,” he said as he sneered at the three of them. Scorpio standing with arms crossed glaring at them.

“Time to go, fellas!” They quickly hurried off back towards the common room.

“You better not eat the apple whatever it was she made!” Scorpio storms off after them, leaving Zyglavis and myself alone in the silence of the hall.

“Guess we better go and make it official?” I look up towards the man I love, ready to join the others when he holds me tighter to him.

“Let them be for the moment. I need to check and make sure you’re well enough.” He leans in for a kiss and suddenly I feel as if my hunger has been satiated. No amount of godly powers could ever do what he does to make me, us, feel so loved.
