Ok so I'm thinking about how speak now is considered *the* taylor swift fairytale album, yet so much of it is about those fantasies breaking, with songs about heartbreak, getting hurt, things dont going as you expect, etc. So I think that if the album ended on a pessimist/sad song it would be seen as the "going from hopeful girl to crashing with reality" album.

However, the album ends with Long Live, one of the most epic and fairytale-esque songs in Taylor’s discography. And I think this is so important because it closes the album with hope, instead of choosing to let the pain change how she views the world and lives with an open heart.

But for me it's even more special taking into account the subject of the song. While many other songs in the album (both hopeful and broken) are about lovers, ex-lovers or people who hurt her, at the end of the day what keeps her going and full of hope are the deep, true, beautiful connections that she forms with other people (in this case her band and fans) through music. And i think that's so beautiful and so important for the whole narrative of the record and all of Taylor's work.

there's a part of me that kinda wants to watch the last season once it airs having no context of whatever happened in seasons 3-6 (i did watch seasons 1 and 2 a few years ago) except for the posts that i've seen online talking about how unhinged it is, which include:

archie went to jail and the cheerleaders went to perform there (i actually know this because back in like 2018 a girl from my school showed us the video because our class had to organize a performance and that was her suggestion, in the end we didnt do that tho)

guy who dropped out to sell drugs for his grandma vs epic high and lows of high school football

they did heathers (the musical)

and some other musical episodes

archie went to war because a ghost told him ????? but the timeline was like incredible messed up and inaccurate

the ships from the first couple seasons went to shit i think

apparently they got superpowers

sabrina the witch appeared

something about a lesbian kiss saving the universe ??? idk

so yeah thats all the context i have. thinking about watching the last seasons with just that for the giggles. or, even better, i dont watch a second of it and continue learning about whatever happens in the season through memes and then i only watch the finale. tbh in the end i wont do it but it would be fun i think.

s7 of riverdale being set in high school is just soooo quintessentially riverdaleian like yes theres the obvious callback to the original comics + it's a full circle moment for the show to go back to riverdale high school but i remember when riverdale first came out there was quite a lot of critique ab them casting actors who were "far too old" to play high schoolers so in my humble opinion taking those same actors 6 full years of aging later and making them play high schoolers AGAIN is just so beautifully camp. never will there ever be a show like this ever again
