Ramonda considers Nakia to be a suitable person to take the Herb.

Saw the movie yesterday so here are my thoughts:

Holy shit, almost cried in the beggining where T'challa dies and the intro homage to Chadwick.

That part where the divers submerge into the deep sea gave me thalassophobia, ngl, also reminded me of the opening scene in jwfk by no reason lmao.

Act 2 begins and you can feel the tone bending and contorting. Haha we're going on happy fun superhero adventures to take down Klaue! Nope. This is. Something completely different.

Killmonger steps out of the shadows, assumes Klaue's place as the film's central antagonist, and everything changes. Suddenly we're not watching a superhero movie with some political elements. We're watching a political thriller with some superhero elements.

"You are a good man with a good heart. And it's hard for a good man to be king."

T'Chaka said that in the Ancestral Plane, and here we start to understand what he meant. We're learning about and questioning the hard choices T'Chaka made, and how they stand apart from the good but politically unwise choices T'Challa is making.

Everett Ross is T'Challa's N'Jobu.

When Ross gets shot during Klaue's escape, it presents an ethical and political conundrum for T'Challa. This man is a CIA Agent. Doing unsavory things to give his country a leg up over the rest of the world is literally his job. And he just learned about Wakanda's secret vibranium mountain.

As King of Wakanda, the best choice T'Challa could make for his country and his people would be to let Ross die. That is the sensible course of action to preserve Wakandan sovereignty.

And you can see him thinking about it. He does hesitate. He weighs his options. But T'Challa consciously chooses mercy, accepting the very serious political risks that come with it.

Before he even knows that it's a point of comparison, T'Challa makes the choice his father never would.
