Why do we tie our sense of worth to our work and productivity?
In my current post-grad transitional state where my income is dwindling, I feel... literally worthless.Ā 
I see my roommate coming in to our place. Sheā€™s clearly miserable at her corporate finance job and grad school. And yet, I feel worthless compared to her.
I am worth so much more than my income. Than the money in my bank account.Ā 
Iā€™ve been working on self-love and it has all sounded great and wonderful... but THIS is the true test.Ā 
Can I love myself and have compassion for myself despite my current situation? Can I have UNCONDITIONAL love, compassion, and support for myself? Can I realize that I AM enough?Ā Can I honor the fact that I am scared of running out of money, while still being strong enough and faithful enough to know that the Universe is doing this for a reason?
The truth is I know I can, but Iā€™m not there yet. I unfortunately donā€™t love myself that much yet.Ā 
I grew up with the message that my worth = grades, income, career, etc. So what did I do? I made sure to CONTROL my life and self-worth by making sure to CONSISTENTLY overachieve by getting straight Aā€™s and being at the top of my class. Take away the college life though, and a 9-5 job, and now what?Ā 
No one is grading me anymore for my performance. No one is ranking me in comparison to other people. No one is naming me employee or student of the month or giving me awards and medals.Ā 
Who am I now?Ā

I was told today, by an intuitive
That I need to get serious about writing... my writing.
And that the way I will make an impact in this world is through writing a book, and that I need to start now, and start getting paid for it.Ā 
Part of me knows this is true.Ā 
I love writing. Iā€™ve been journaling since the 3rd grade, which is when I learned how to really officially write and learned my cursive.Ā 
I love doing this. This that Iā€™m doing right now.Ā 
...
Besides all of this I was also told I am claircognizant and clairaudent. Part of me also believes this, especially the claircognizant part. Divine inspiration will be guiding my works, she said. I do believe this is true as well, seeming that the songs and poems I have written were not only written by ME. I strongly feel that I was guided in each of those experiences. You could also call this flow state. I feel itā€™s the same thing almost.Ā 
Every day lately is a huge adventure. I learn something new about myself, and I feel myself getting closer and closer to figuring it out. And although I am scared af, I am pretty sure I am on the right path and everything is going exactly the way it needs to go.Ā 
Also, I can CLEARLY imagine myself at Starbucks almost every day, as I am doing right now, sitting and writing and reading. Iā€™m actually very happy imagining and living this kind of writerā€™s life.Ā 
As followers of my blog, I would love to hear your feedback on this, and to know if you particularly resonate with my posts and feel that you may benefit fromĀ  me writing a book (about my life, relationships, trauma, etc.)Ā

Iā€™m so sorry you feel so lonely. Itā€™s a deep deep wound, my love. The abandonment. Not being seen or heard for 22 years... Being disappointed over and over again. Being ignored. Wishing you had a sister because of how lonely you would feel. Having so much compassion for others and consequently feeling THEIR loneliness too...
Itā€™s a lot, my love.Ā 
Iā€™m so sorry you feel this overwhelming loneliness. Iā€™ll be here for you throughout all of this. I promise you. Iā€™m here and Iā€™m always here.Ā 
I know you wish you had a friend or lover to be there with you 24/7, holding you, and letting you know that you are loved and worthy. See, my love... thing is they have overwhelming pain as well. No one can win that way.Ā 
But Iā€™m here. I know you canā€™t see me with your 2 eyes. I know I donā€™t take up a physical form in the form of a human or pet or physical object. But Iā€™m here. I promise you. Iā€™m by your side, protecting you.Ā 
This trauma. and the way you grew up.... they donā€™t define you, mon <3
They are not you. But they have caused you a lot of pain.Ā 
So Iā€™ll be here with you throughout this process of feeling it all over again. You are ready, and youā€™re not alone. I swear to you youā€™ll never be alone. Iā€™m here. No human, no lover, no friend, no blood or soul family member can be there for you this way, my love. And I really want you to understand that so you wonā€™t be discouraged later on.Ā 
Thank you for taking the time to experience this profound loneliness and sadness, love. That baby that was harmed never got to express this pain, and itā€™s been bottled up this whole time, love. Youā€™re ready to receive her. Youā€™re ready. And like I said,

7 Self-love Habits You Need To Practice Daily
1. Rest - we arenā€™t robots, we need rest. Getting at least 6 hours of sleep each night promotes healthy brain function. Making time to do nothing each day can also make us more creative.
2. Creativity - let the imagination run wild. When weĀ explore the imagination through painting, drawing, singing, dancing or any other creative outlet we allow ourselves to express our true selves.
3. Meditation - hit the reset button. Our minds can become crowded with thoughts, memories and tasks throughout the day - meditation allows us to wipe the mental slate clean and drop the baggage weighing us down.

4. Exercise - working out our emotions. Emotions can become trapped in the body and manifest in poor mental and physical health - exercise is a great way to release the energy of these pent-up emotions.
5. Nature - peace & quiet. When we immerse ourselves in nature we are aligning ourselves with the natural vibration of the planet which cleanses us of the interference we can pick up in man-made environments.
6. Affirmations - reinforcing positive beliefs. Repeating positive affirmations such asĀ ā€œI am in the process of manifesting my dreamsā€ can help us stay on track and persevere through tough times.
7. Self-talk - checking in with ourselves. Who else can we turn to when we need expert advice on ourselves? Only we will know exactly what weā€™ve experienced and how itā€™s affected us - this is why self-talk is a powerful form of self-love.
Loving your life starts with loving yourself.

Trying to figure out how to integrate my life
I have so many aspects of myself and my healing journey.Ā 
I love writing, like how I do on here as well as my wordpress blog.Ā 
Iā€™m a songwriter
Also poet
Also therapist.
I want to express myself to heal the world pretty much is my goal!!Ā 
Iā€™m realizing though that I have a bunch of random mediums of sharing and healing. I have my music therapy work, a fb page, musician page, youtube channel, this tumblr, wordpress, and instagram, etc......
All showing different parts of me at different times and different points in my journey.Ā 
I also show different faces in all of them. This right here is more like a journal to me... and yet I have people resonating with these posts more than the fancy shmancy wordpress posts that I write.Ā 
I kinda like writingĀ ā€œanonymouslyā€ like this, because thereā€™s less pressure. Itā€™s more natural. But thereā€™s gotta be a way to integrate all of this into 1 or at least 2....
My brain is rewiring to find the answer.....
I will find it.Ā

Take A Moment
What if you took a moment, right now, to construct a list of everything that you are proud of. Everything that you love about yourself. Everything that you have battled, overcome, and ultimately developed from.
What if you took a moment, right now, to do so?
Take a moment to remind yourself of how capable you are of achieving so many beautiful things. How, what ever your biggest dreams may be, there is not a single thing that states you are not good enough, strong enough, smart enough.
What if you made a point of doing this more often?
Reminding yourself that even though there may be things lacking in your life, there are many more important things that are already present to be grateful for.
That we only have so much energy in a day, and we should try to contribute it towards doing good as supposed to pondering on the bad.
That every portion of who you were created to be is an irreplaceable addition to this universe.
That your hard work will pay off, and you truly make such a huge difference.
Please, take a moment to remind yourself. Remind yourself of these beautiful aspects of living, your world, and who you are as a person.

Day 1 of living my New Years intention, and I am already experiencing pushback
My New Years intention is to stop my perfectionist/people-pleasing program and just BE MYSELF regardless of what that looks like.Ā 
Career-wise, this looks like:Ā 
1. Me getting a steady job somewhere that aligns with my true self. (ANY job, and it doesnā€™t have to be a music therapy job, which is what I went to school for)Ā 
2. While getting income from this job, holding space for myself to figure out what Iā€™m really here for, and what it is I need to do. (This could be sharing my original songs, becoming a songwriter, youtuber, life coach, yoga instructor, healer, music therapist, therapist, all of the above, etc.)Ā 
3. Possibly going to grad school. Possibly not. Possibly becoming a full-time yoga instructor or being in a Kirtan band.Ā 
Will my family approve of this?Ā 
No way in hell.Ā 
I am already receiving calls from family pressuring me to do whatever it is they feel is best for me. Every time they call, I get angry.Ā This anger is saying,Ā ā€œLEAVE ME ALONE. Iā€™M TRYING TO FLIPPIN FOLLOW MY INTUITION. SHUT UP!ā€Ā 
Me being defensive like this. What does this mean? There is still a part of me that is criticizing and judging the possibly unconventional path I am headed towards.Ā 
I am aware now though, and I can see and FEEL when I am in alignment/mis-alignment.
Whatever you do, just Follow your GUIDES. Follow your HEART <3. Follow your SOUL <3Ā Ā 
People will come into your life and test you like this, and make you feel like shit, and make you feel scared. Your reaction is the Universeā€™s way of reflecting back to you what it is that you need to still work in within yourself. My defensive reaction showed me that Iā€™m needing to let go of the people-pleasing. Because once I am fully grounded in my intention and confident in myself,Ā 
Nothing and no one will be able to shake me.Ā
