AfterRiders AU Drabble!! Characters: Fleetway(AU) & Keira (w/ Runihura, Mysta, Siegfried, Scorch, & Brutus)

“All challengers, ready up!”

The crowd roared in response to the voice that bleared from the speakers. “Hurry up! It’s starting!” Amongst the crowd, a group of four: a pink cat, a blue tiger, a red lion, and a thresher shark took their respective seats. They began searching for their friends who were competing in this race — the cat’s arms flailing about as she pointed in the direction of a yellow hedgehog. “There they are!”

Fleetway exhaled. Months of training had boiled down to this very moment. He narrowed his eyes at the starting line, seeing other racers beginning to take their spots. In the midst of the crowd he could easily spot the blue quills that belonged to their most problematic opponent: Sonic. Turning his head, the yellow hedgehog merely sneered. Fleetway wasn’t afraid of anything; he’ll take down the blue blur himself.

As he glanced at his two other team members, he locked eyes with Runihura, who had just finished putting on his gloves. “Remember the plan,” Runihura mumbled in passing, giving Fleetway a fist bump as the thorny devil moved to take his position behind the starting line. Of course, Fleetway thought. No need to tell me twice.

With that, his attention rested upon a purple hedgehog, sat atop her bike. Her face was scrunched in a frown, as she slipped her helmet on. She was so deep in her own thoughts she didn’t even notice Fleetway approaching her.

“Oi Kei, chill out will you?” he bent down to her eye level, hands resting on her bike.

Flinching, Keira gave him a sheepish smile, “How can I relax when we’re going up against all of the pros? Sonic is there… Blaze is there…” Gripping her bike’s handle, she chewed on her lip anxiously.

“You’re also forgetting that they’re also going against each other,” he replied easily. “They’re not going to be barraging us with attacks all the time. And plus, you have us.”

“Mm… I guess you’re right. Raidon didn’t make the plan for us to follow on baseless assumptions either… everything was so well thought out.”

Fleetway sighed, chuckling. He put a hand on the top of her helmet, making her look at him dead in the eye. “Kei. You’re doing it again; you’re overthinking,” he grinned. “Focus on me for a bit yeah? Hear me out.”

Taking her silence as a sign to continue, he began, “We didn’t accept you into the team just because Mysta said so. It was also a matter of whether you’re capable of taking her place. Honestly, while seeing you struggle with almost every form of extreme gear was hilarious, we didn’t think you had what it took to be a part of the team.” Fleetway’s expression morphed into a more serious one, before sighing, “But after seeing you on this very bike, killing it in your first race, the deal was sealed. Before you even begin doubting your abilities, remember that you’re more capable than you think, so don’t sell yourself short, okay? The team needs you.”

Fleetway then pointed to the stands, over at the group of four that had recently taken their seats earlier. “Look. Mysta is there, Siegfried is there, Scorch is there, and Brutus is there. They’re there for us; for your very first race in the finals of the pro league,” glancing back at a wide-eyed Keira, he continued, “So show them what you got, miss I-still-can’t-use-a-hoverboard.”

Keira pushed Fleetway lightly at his tease, unamused at his unwillingness to let the joke go. The purple hedgehog then hopped off her bike, moving to tackle Fleetway into a hug. “You’re never gonna let that go aren’t you?” She mumbled embarrassedly into his chest, feeling him laugh loudly in response. “Thank you, idiot. I feel much better now.”

Fleetway returned the gesture, before picking her up and placing her back on the bike. “Though I have one last question,” Keira narrowed her eyes at the yellow hedgehog. “Did you really have to piss Sonic off?”

He leaned closer to her face with a cocky smirk, “The blue bitch needs to get his priorities straight from the get go.” Retracting, Fleetway turned tail, casually walking away to the starting line.

“THAT’S SO VAGUE!” Keira retorted, revving her bike to catch up to him. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?!”

Fleetway only snickered in response, “You’ll see!”

I’ve been wanting to draw them for a while now :’DD Both designs are mine and a part of a sonk universe that I have yet to flesh out :3

Gonna talk a bit about Fleet Cx

Here, Fleetway (AU) doesn’t revert back to Sonic (the blue hedgehog and his friends dont exist in my universe). Instead, he’s an individual who inherited the ability to manipulate chaos energy from his bloodline.

Normally when he uses his powers, his eyes glow. However, when he uses it for too long, he often loses control (referring to both his powers and his grip on his sanity). This is indicated by his eyes turning spiral.

To snap him out of it, he must be exhausted to the brink of collapse, or lose consciousness.

Introducing my sonic ocs and the story they’re involved in! C: Hope you like them as much as I do!~

Ataraxia Overview

Note: This story is separate from the Sonic Universe & isn't involved with it in any way! Fleetway belongs to SEGA but this version of him is just an AU version for my story. The rest of these characters are my OCs!

A world war has taken place on the planet of Charis. The 6 nations are divided once more due to Zeinor's new leader's greed. An organization in Equx launches Project: ATARAXIA, recruiting many powerful allies to help put an end to this tiresome war and put Zeinor's corrupt high council back to their place.

There are 6 nations inhabiting different territories:

Zeinor: Lush Green Hills

Racoris: Badlands

Asin: Ocean

Equx: Rainforest

Igon: Tundra

Niani: Desert Chasms

OC Info

Runihura; or Raidon (to his friends), is a thorny devil who survived a raid upon his scorching desert of a home. Unlike most of his allies, he does not have any superpowers, yet still is regarded as equally important due to his proficiency at battle strategies. That doesn't mean he's completely helpless in combat either, as he makes good use of his arm blades and whatever abilities being a thorny devil give him. He hopes to one day take back his home from the nation that took over his homeland.

Keira is a weaponized hedgehog who was kidnapped and imprisoned in an underground lab by the high council (her nation's government lmao). During her imprisonment, Keira was tested on and as a result gained two powers: umbrakinesis (shadow manipulation) and umbra-electrokinesis (destructive lightning manipulation). Eventually she escaped during a containment breach caused by Fleetway (he's also a test subject :C), and fled to another continent to seek refuge. Once she was taken in by an organization that plans on ending the war (also is the reason behind everyone meeting each other), she honed her abilities and mastered the art of the scythe.

Fleetway is a hedgehog of noble status, but unfortunately inherited his bloodline's infamous ability: chaos manipulation. He was sent to the underground lab after his home was threatened to be destroyed by the high council. Like Keira, he too was tested on, and continually lost control of his powers (the side effects essentially send him into a state of insanity). As he grew stronger, he wrecked havoc upon the lab, and was transferred into Zeinor's military. Under the high council's control, he performed few mass genocides to earn their trust. Once he's no longer their dog on a leash, Fleetway plans to burn the corrupt high council to the ground.

Soleil; or Mysta, is a boisterous cat who's also an aspiring fashion designer. There isn't much to her background other than having failed at so many jobs she finally landed one that involved her making combat outfits. She designed some of the clothes for our main cast of characters and constantly drags them out to shop with her. Besides that, Mysta is adept at the art of magic (it's actually telekinesis but she's lazy to say it), but due to her... being a cat... you might see her use it in the most useless ways out of combat and work.

Siegfried is a tiger who hails from a land of eternal winter. Like Raidon, he fled his country once enemy troops seized his home. After witnessing his home's destruction from a distance, he vows to protect and support his allies and friends in order to never see them meet such a fate. Siegfried's natural kindness, cheekiness and sense of responsibility allows him to assume the older brother role for his friends. Besides this, he also excels at photokinesis. It sounds incredibly useless in combat, and you'd be right, as Siegfried assumes more of a support role in a fight. Blinding foes and creating light clones to momentarily distract them is his job - this is to allow for his comrades an opportunity to strike.

Scorch is a lion mercenary who was sent over to the organization to help increase their strength. Scorch can come off as overconfident and a bit of a hot-head sometimes (it doesn't help that he has "exploding fire manipulation" as an ability). Despite his pride and arrogance, he has a soft-spot for his friends and family. An experienced fighter, he's known in his homeland for his tough training (he trains his siblings but goes a lil easier on them HAHA). Everyone he trained have shown significant improvement, and Keira, who sought his combat guidance when she arrived at the organization, is no different.

Brutus is a thresher shark who hails from an underwater sea kingdom. Unlike the rest of the gang, he’s what we know as a “merman”. Like his kind, he is able to breathe in both underwater and on the surface — however, he has no legs, which is why he uses a pair of mechanical legs on land. Snarky and kind of an ass overall, Brutus brings life (chaos) to the table, and his comments tend to be… controversial. On the flip side, he’s extremely loyal, competent and brings his share of skills to the team, even though he likes provoking his teammates for fun.
