Why Are You so Mean? - Rafe Cameron x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n walks in on rafe looking a little to intimate with his girl best friend
warnings: cursing, girl bestie, mention of drugs and drinking, toxic behavior
genre: angst
word count: 1k
---------------------------------
the party music blared across the beach house. to be frank, y/n wasn't big into the party scene. she loved parties: the ones where you danced until your feet gave out, the ones where you sang your heart out to a song by kesha, and the ones where it was all about smiles and singing. not these parties: where everyone judged one another, where everyone couldn't talk without slurring their words, where everyone needed a drink, and where people upstairs were snorting lines of cocaine.
y/n was out on the balcony, looking at the beach. a beach like this, and people still just wanted to snort coke in a beach house. lame, she thought. but she was here too.
she remembered when she first met her boyfriend; rafe cameron. it was karaoke night at a local beach party. y/n and her best friend were up and they were singing "22" by the one and only, taylor swift. it was just a fun song in a fun night with fun people. y/n recalled how her hair had gotten screwed up from all the dancing she did, how her make up had all been lost, and how she smelled of seawater and vanilla perfume. she'd heard all about rafe; how he was bad news. ironically, she was singing "you look like bad news, i gotta have you" right when she made eye-contact with the snarky blonde. he winked at her and she smiled back. after that song, they took a long walk across the beach, and soon after they talked a little more, they began dating. it'd been six months now.
snapping out of her daze, y/n decided to go upstairs and rejoin rafe. she'd left, wanting to get away from the strong smell of alcohol and cocaine that tainted the house. as she opened the door to the room she'd left a few minutes earlier, she felt a punch in her gut.
there was rafe, sitting on the couch. his arm was around another girl next to him. her brown hair draped over her shoulder as rafe used his other hand to toy with her locks. sofia. his best friend, of course. y/n hadn't liked her since the minute they'd met and she'd made some sly remarks.
"you're rafe's girlfriend?" she laughed in front of you. "rebound?" she mouthed.
bitch y/n thought, recalling the memory.
topper, kelce, rafe, and sofia laughed, like y/n wasn't even there.
"rafe? no lines today?" topper laughed.
"nah, sof's convinced me to get clean." he said.
i always tell you to get clean y/n thought.
"sorry for interrupting guys. i'm just going to be leaving now." y/n finally said. "by the way, you two make a really cute couple." she fake smiled, her entire dialogue painted with obvious sarcasm and anger.
"y/n-" rafe said, moving from sofia and make his way towards her.
"no i get it. that y/n girl is such a bitch, right? she's always on your ass about getting clean and other bullshit. i wouldn't want anything to do with her either." y/n continued.
"i didn't say that-"
sofia rolled her eyes.
"have fun gentlemen." y/n smiled. "and uh, whatever you are."
y/n walked out of the house, rafe calling after her.
---------------------------------
y/n stormed off to the beach. it looked beautiful in the dark. the waves crashing against the shore and the salty breeze. she took a seat on the cold sand.
she'd told rafe so many times to get clean; that it was bad for him and it was stupid. did he listen no? but leave it to sofia to say it, and he's all ears. she'd always wanted to watch dirty dancing with rafe, but did he every make the time for it? no. but did he watch the movie a week later with sofia. yes. she'd asked rafe to sing with her at karaoke night, did he? no. but as soon as y/n went to the bathroom and came back, he was singing "you belong with me" with sofia.
her train of thought was interrupted when she heard rafe calling. she blinked the tears away.
"y/n! what the hell, i've been looking all over for you!"
"you started looking for me when you couldn't occupy yourself with sofia anymore." y/n spat back. "you didn't give a single fuck about where i was. you never do, especially when sofia's there."
"that's not true-"
"karaoke night? dirty dancing? rafe, i've told you a thousand times to get clean, but you listen when sofia tells you!"
he sat down next to her and put his arm around her.
"i'm sorry sweetheart, we've just been friends-"
y/n pushed his arm off of her.
"you've been friends with her forever. i've heard the excuse a thousand fucking times."
she could see the annoyance in his eyes.
"what, you annoyed? would you be annoyed if i was sofia?"
he took a deep breath and looked at the sea. of course the mention of sofia bothered him.
"i don't remember you being this fucking annoying when we met."
"why are you so mean?" she asked, voice breaking.
"no, no, no, don't go crying now. you started this."
"you just called me 'fucking annoying.' of course i'm going to cry. and you did this by climbing all over another girl."
from a distance, y/n heard someone calling out for rafe. it was that bitch, it just had to be her. "rafe! c'mon, you're missing out. topper and kelce are so fucked up right now, it's hilarious!"
she waved to him, stopping about 20 feet away. he waved back. he looked at y/n as they both got up.
she knew he wanted to leave.
"you can go." y/n said. "but if you do so, we're over."
"what the fuck y/n! that isn't fair."
"i've got this sneaking feeling: that i'm worth half than whatever she is to you. and if you, you'll confirm what i feel like i already know." y/n spoke softly, turning to meet his blue eyes.
"whatever." he scoffed, getting up and reuniting with sofia.
he glared at y/n as he embraced sofia. y/n walked past them both, tears spilling from her eyes as soon as she'd passed them.
why was he so mean?

(Part 1) Part 2 - You Used to Avoid Me Too (Percy Jackson x Fem!Reader, Leo Valdez x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n finds clarity in her time away from percy.
warnings: cursing, inappropriate humor, mention of the dead, toxic relationship, etc
genre: sadness turned into happiness ig???
word count: 912
----------------------------------------------
y/n walked out of percy's cabin, not exactly sure what she was feeling. she was sad, but she was angry, but was she finally in a state of clarity? who knew? she looked around a couple of times, hoping no one heard the ruckus that had just occurred. tears fell from her eyes. she saw a shadowy figure stare at her for a brief minute before it disappeared.
----------------------------------------------
"y/n! it's time for breakfast!" one of her cabinmates yelled.
"coming!" y/n yelled back, hoping that the cold water had washed away the redness in her eyes.
she began walking to the pavilion, but felt a strong urge to turn around when she saw him.
him with the dark hair and bright eyes walking happily to breakfast as if he hadn't destroyed whatever hope she had in him the night before.
y/n grabbed her breakfast and began walking down to her table, unfortunately having to pass percy on her way there.
"i heard so much noise from percy's cabin yesterday." one kid said.
"my boy got it on last night!" the other kid exclaimed, the table bursting out in laughter.
perfect timing y/n thought as she walked by, suddenly not feeling hungry anymore. she took the apple and walked out of the pavilion and to the lake.
----------------------------------------------
you're not annabeth. you're not her.
those six words replayed in y/n's mind as tears began to fall from her eyes. why would someone even say such a thing?
she felt someone come sit beside her. not wanting to show her tear stained face, she quickly wiped her cheeks and put on a smile.
"i like your smile." the person said.
y/n turned to see leo. a wave of shock passed through her body, but she didn't show it.
"thank you." she smiled.
"but it doesn't hide your tomato eyes." he laughed.
y/n chuckled too.
"what're you doing out here?" he asked.
"just sitting. looking at the view." she responded.
"with a side of crying?"
"maybe."
"i heard you guys last night."
oh great y/n thought.
"we did not 'get it on-'" she started.
"i know. you guys were fighting. pretty badly, i'll add. i heard the glass and the yelling. i saw-"
y/n thought back to yesterday night and remembered there was some shadow walking around.
"you saw me." she sighed. "fuck."
"ing? i thought that's what didn't happen." he laughed.
"haha, very funny." she rolled her eyes.
"i heard the things he said." he started. "i don't think he's right."
"but isn't he? i wasn't what he was looking for and i was stupid enough to think i was."
"you can't change yourself to be what he misses. your job isn't to be the past, it's to be the present and the future."
"i don't even know. i'm so upset. he didn't even love me in the first place and for some reason, i feel like that's so much worse than falling out of love with me. i would've known he cared at one point. but now, i know he never ever did." she chuckled. it made more sense aloud. "and, i hope this doesn't sound mean, but why do you care? you used to avoid me too."
"yeah i did, but that didn't mean i wanted to." he answered.
"explain?"
"percy's my bro, so first, i just stayed away because he wanted me to. i never knew the real reason until he started saying a bunch of weird shit."
"like what?"
"stupid shit. like, 'y/n's hair is different' or 'y/n got a question wrong in math.' it was like he was subtly comparing you to annabeth, while trying to not completely give himself away. i lost respect for him first when he said you were only good during the nighttime, if you know what i mean. i think i lost a more respect for him when he said, and i quote, 'do you guys ever pretend someone is someone else? but then they're not like that person and it gets you pissed off?'"
y/n knew her tears were falling down her face again.
"then i was like, fuck this, i need to ask if y/n's alright. if he's saying all this, you must've been like a victim."
"mhm." she nodded. "i don't even know what i did wrong."
y/n buried her face into her hands as breathing became difficult.
"wait, hey-don't cry!" he panicked. "i mean, percy's stupid anyways. well i know i'm stupid, but he's like really stupid-" he started, trying to wipe away y/n's tears with his hands. "you didn't hear this from me, but he's obsessed with someone who's six feet under, maybe seven, she was kinda tall. it's like necrophilic at this point-"
y/n chuckled at that.
"if anything, he can take the gravestone and shove it up his ass." he smiled.
y/n gave him a weak smile as her tears slowly reduced.
"i'll see you around camp." leo said, getting up and reaching a hand out for her.
she took it, getting up.
"see you around leo." she smiled.
as they both went their seperate ways, y/n just couldn't stop smiling. she looked around as she walked back to the main area of the camp. she saw percy, sword fighting with jason. as she walked by, she locked eyes with percy.
"y/n!" he yelled "can we talk? please?"
"i would love to but i think you've got a gravestone shoved up your ass!" she yelled back.
----------------------------------------------

(Part 2) As Long As I Can Find You - Dean Winchester x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n realizes her and dean are worth fighting for
warnings: mention of drowning
genre: fluff
word count: 693
-----------------------------------------
y/n sat on her couch, setting her cup of coffee down on the table. she leaned back. it was going to be a long night. she opened up the numerous books she had found on demonology and began reading them.
two children in the town next to y/n's had just drowned. drowned out of no where. it was reported they were walking home from school one evening, and then they were gone. it was too suspicious to just ignore.
y/n had changed, she still hunted, of course. once you were in that life, it was near impossible you'd get out. but now she lived a quieter life, in the suburbs. her house was cozy, filled with her essence.
it did get a little lonely out in the suburbs. especially since it was just her and her mind, all day, everyday. but on these nights, the nights where she'd stay up reading and contemplating, she wished she had a companion.
she wished she had never left her companion.
y/n thought about that night a lot. it had been two years. two years since she saw him, and she hadn't heard about him since. no idea of where he was or what he was doing. but that's dean.
she often pondered her choice of leaving, but she wondered what would've happened if she didn't. they were something, don't you think so? staying up every night, sharing their deepest thoughts with one-another. she often wondered if he ever thought about her, or if he just forgot and moved on.
suddenly, her doorbell rang, breaking y/n's train of thought. she sat in her spot for a moment, understanding it was late at night and it wasn't safe to just fling open the door. the doorbell rang again. y/n grabbed a knife from the kitchen and opened the door just the slightest.
she froze in her place when she say bright green eyes, staring right back at her.
-----------------------------------------
putting the knife back, she opened the door.
"dean?" she asked, in disbelief.
"y/n." he smiled.
she opened up the door and let him inside.
"i never knew you were a suburbs girl." he remarked, looking around.
"i didn't know either." she responded. "what brings you here?"
"drowning in the next town over." he answered, nonchalantly. "we figured it out."
"we?" she asked.
she should've known she'd be replaced. why had she clung onto the hope she wasn't?
"me and sammy." he answered.
"you find him?" she smiled. "oh my god that's amazing! where is he?"
"he's back at the motel room."
"how'd you find me?" she wondered.
"trust me, i've been trying to."
her heart dropped.
"what do you mean?"
"i've looked for you y/n. in every town we've visited for the last two years. i've looked for you everywhere." he confessed. "i've thought about you every night."
"i thought you forgot me or you replaced me. this is really out of character for dean winchester." she smiled.
"what can i say? i've missed you, y/n." he said, finally looking at her.
time froze as they stared into each other's eyes.
"i'd be a liar if i said i didn't." y/n admitted. "i'm sorry for what happened that night."
"as long as i can find you y/n, it doesn't matter where you go." he said, profundity tainting his voice.
y/n smiled, tears filling her eyes.
"i never stopped loving you, dean." she confessed.
they both stepped closer to one-another. he leaned down and kissed y/n, putting his arms around her waist. she reciprocated, kissing him back and shutting whatever distance was between them.
"i lied." he said.
y/n pulled back.
"what? lied about what?" she asked.
"sam is in the car waiting for me." he smiled. "we were about to leave town, but i made him stop here. told him i was meeting an old friend who could help us with the next trip."
"you are mean." she laughed. "he's probably waiting for you."
"that doesn't matter. what matters is: are you coming with me?"
y/n paused.
"let me get my jacket." she smiled.
-----------------------------------------
just wrote my second ever happy tumblr fic idk how to feel abt this but i hope you guys like it <3 maybe i'll write happy stuff more often

(Part 2) Part 1 - You're Not Her - Percy Jackson x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n realizes this relationship is no longer worth fighting for
warnings: cursing, character death, toxic relationship, throwing things
genre: angst
word count: 1.1k
------------------------------------------------
y/n laughed as a smidge of vanilla ice cream was put on percy's nose.
"not funny y/n." he said, irritated, wiping it off.
"sorry, won't happen again." she said back, shocked at the mood change. "wanna go for a swim?" she asked, trying to change the topic.
"no, i want to stay dry." he said, plainly.
"do you want to do anything?" y/n laughed.
he looked at her with his sea green eyes.
"what do you think." he said.
"alright per-sassy-eus." she shrugged.
they stared the the lake in silence until a little girl came running.
"y/n! y/n!" she shouted, running towards her.
y/n wrapped her arms around the seven-year old.
"hey serena! what's up?" she asked, smiling.
"me and lily and kayla and a bunch of other girls are making friendship bracelets!" serena said excitedly. "c'mon! hi percy!"
"hey serena." he smiled. "i like your bracelet."
"i have two of them, they are matching!" she grinned. "you can have one."
she slid the blue one off her wrist and gave it to percy.
"now we're best friends!" serena said, returning to y/n and tugging on her hand.
y/n looked at percy.
"percy, i'm gonna go." she smiled, kissing him on the cheek.
"yeah, ok." he shrugged.
"love you." y/n said.
"mhm."
------------------------------------------------
y/n got to the arts and crafts table and sat down next to her good friend, olivia.
"they got you too?" liv laughed.
"yeah." y/n smiled.
"y/n! why didn't percy say love you back?" serena asked.
y/n felt hurt, but she couldn't show that, not to this little girl. olivia stared at her, waiting for the response.
"he's just a little shy now-a-days." y/n chuckled.
"but he's your boyfriend!" serena's friend, lily spoke up.
"boyfriends can be shy." y/n explained, wondering whether she was lying to the kids or herself.
"but he always say i love you to annabeth!" serena's other friend, kayla added.
"i guess he's just a little more reserved after what happened with annabeth. that changes people." y/n smiled.
"he's still my hero though!" serena smiled.
"him and jason are my heroes!" lily added.
"kayla, who's your hero?" they asked.
"my hero is reyna!" she said confidently.
y/n chuckled.
------------------------------------------------
y/n and olivia sat on y/n's bed in her cabin.
"what were the girls going on about today?" liv asked.
"percy, and they were right, and they had good points." y/n sighed, tired of hiding it. "we've been dating for almost a year now, and he's just so negative."
"what do you mean?" liv continued.
"i mean he always gets mad at me, he never wants to do anything with me, and it feels like i'm just someone to look at when he's bored." y/n explained. "i get it, things are different for him after annabeth died."
olivia nodded, placing her hand on y/n's for comfort.
"they'd been friends forever, they went through hell together, they'd been in love, and he couldn't save her at the battle. but it's been three years, and he confessed to me. he said, 'i know you've like me for a while and i think i do too.' i remember the day liv." y/n continued. "and things have changed for me too. piper and hazel are always casting me dirty glances, jason and leo and frank avoid me if i'm in anywhere near ten feet to them. i've been slut-shamed, compared, and bullied because i'm dating him."
y/n began to feel tears well up.
"i just want him to talk to me and hang out with me without feeling like he's being forced to do it." she finished.
"y/n, i think this is something you have to tell percy." olivia responded. "you can't keep going like this, it's going to kill you."
"i don't want to hurt him and what if he just freaks out on me? i care about him." y/n countered.
"just talk to him." olivia encouraged. "he's a good man, he'll understand."
------------------------------------------------
"you're not understanding me!" y/n said, sadness filling her voice. "i-i'm not telling you to get over what happened, i'm trying to tell you that you can talk to me! i'm trying to help you percy!"
"help me! help me! you want to help me by bringing up her name?" he screamed.
gods, he was scary.
"i'm trying to tell you that it feels like you don't even like me, much less love me! it's like i'm a burden to you!" y/n shouted back. "and i understand you're hurting, but why am i a victim of your grief?"
"fine!" he said, throwing a candle across his cabin. "i'm sorry that my girlfriend, who i loved for longer than i've ever known you, is dead and that it makes me upset!"
y/n ducked, avoiding the glass shards. fear ran through her bones.
"and i'm sorry you have to go through that, but it sucks for me too! piper and hazel give me these glares, like they hate every vein in my body. leo, jason, and frank run from me like i'm a disease! and i've told you and you don't do shit to stop it, you encourage it if anything!" y/n yelled.
"they've got every fucking reason too!" he yelled, throwing a picture frame of us across the room.
"what's the reason! tell me, what's the reason!" y/n shouted.
"because you're not annabeth!" he yelled, with every bone in his body as tear welled up in his eyes. "you're not her, she would've never done whatever shit you're doing."
y/n stood still for a minute as the words replayed in her head.
you're not her, you're not her, you're not her.
tears filled y/n's eyes.
it's like percy finally understood the gravity of the situation as he looked around in shame.
"y/n, i didn't mean that-"
"no, no, percy, you did. you really did, because otherwise, you wouldn't have said it. and you wouldn't have followed every action to prove it." y/n chuckled. "i'm sorry i'm not annabeth."
percy took a couple of steps forward, but stopped instantly when y/n backed up defensively. y/n pointed to the glass shards around the room. they stood in silence.
"you're a bad man, percy. throwing shit and telling me i'll never be enough. i wish every little girl and boy could see their so-called camp hero right now. i wish they could see what a fucking monster he is." y/n said, her voice now low and quiet.
she turned around, and walked out of his cabin.
“y/n, can’t we talk about this?” he shouted out.
“oh i tried talking to you percy.” she chuckled. “but, you can always go down to annabeth’s gravestone and talk to her."

(Part 1) I'm Just Like Everyone Else - Dean Winchester x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n leaves dean all alone, after making a big mistake
warnings: cursing, implications of sex
genre: angst/heartbreak
word count: 913
---------------------------------------------
y/n sat on the bed of the motel room, reading through various books and papers. dean sat on the desk of the motel room, reading through different online sites.
on the outside, they appeared calm. but both of them were plagued with sadness. dean's internal hell revolved around the fact sammy was missing. y/n's inner calamity revolved around everytime dean looked at her.
she'd known him for a couple of months now. they'd met when dean saved her ass in a fight with a werewolf, and they'd been together every since. well not that together, just in the same place at the same time together.
to be frank, y/n had hopelessly fallen in love with dean. i mean, can you blame her? they'd spent hundreds of late nights, talking about the things they'd seen and what their significance was. they'd spent thousands of minutes, sitting across from each other, searching for information. they'd spent so many days in that car, singing to every song that played.
yes, she wanted to confess to him. but how? his brother is missing. she can't pop up with an "i'm hopelessly in love with you. please give me a chance." oh god no.
y/n's chain of thought was broken when she realized dean had finished his second bottle of beer within forty minutes.
"why don't you slow down? i don't want to deal with a drunk dean." she laughed.
"i don't want to deal with a dean at all." he said, glumly.
y/n shut her book.
"are you alright?" she asked, concern apparent in her voice.
he looked at her.
"yeah, just thinkin bout' sammy." he nodded.
"we'll find him. we've got to." she assured.
on a couple of these late nights, the two would become vulnerable with one-another. dean would share stories about his father (who y/n hated) and she would share stories about her childhood.
"i wonder what my dad would say right now." he chuckled. "losing my little brother."
"your dad wouldn't say shit. you raised sam more than he did." y/n defended.
"that never stopped him before." he added. "sometimes, i think he's right."
a brief silence arose.
"right that i'm not doing enough." he said.
"well, he's wrong."
"is he? is he really?" dean asked, green eyes meeting y/n's. "because i lost sam. he's sure as hell got a point."
y/n stood up and made her way over to dean.
"no he doesn't. you've done more than enough and you're still doing more than enough." y/n sighed. "you're a good man, dean."
they looked into each other's eyes for a moment. dean placed his arm around y/n and their lips collided.
---------------------------------------------
a couple of minutes later, y/n was laying half-naked next to dean, and contemplating all of her life decisions. the regret burned her.
why? why did she fall for his trap? it's over for her. she'd given herself to him, there was no point in confessing any love to him. it was over. she'd become one of dean's many hook-ups. a woman from his past.
dean was wearing his jeans with flannel. y/n was wearing the same, but with a bra underneath. he tried to initiate small talk, but it was just awkward. y/n couldn't bring herself to speak, paralyzed by the reality that she had just become one of his flings. nothing more, nothing less. a one night stand. after so many sleepless nights, this is what she had amounted too. another hook-up.
"are you alright?" he asked, but y/n thoughts drowned out his question.
he tapped her shoulder. she suddenly turned and faced him.
"what?"
"i asked if you were alright."
she nodded and grabbed the book she had been reading, and continued reading it.
"you don't seem alright." he said.
"i'm fine." she fake-smiled.
"are you?" he asked.
she shut her book.
"you got me. i'm not." she said.
"why?" he questioned.
"why do you think dean?" she asked softly. "it wasn't supposed to be like this."
"be like what? what is it?" he continued.
"us." she said, desperation evident in her voice. "in case you haven't noticed, i'm insanely in love with you."
the weight on her shoulders was supposed to be lifted, but it wasn't. in fact, it weighed down heavier.
"and i didn't know how to tell you, which is my fault. and i'm so fucking stupid because now, i'm just one of dean winchester's many hook-ups." she confessed. "i'm just like everyone else. i'm no better than any other girl, and i can't even blame them. you're so easy to love."
she looked at him, water forming in the corner of her eyes, but she would not cry.
"that's not true-"
"no, it is. you're not going to think any more of me now that we've slept together. and it's over for me, it's over for us." she said, voice cracking. "i'm so fucking stupid."
y/n got up and began making her way to the door.
"where are you going? y/n-" dean asked.
"i'm sorry dean, i have to go." she confirmed.
she looked at his enchanting eyes one last time.
"i can't be near you knowing i'm of no value to you. i can't be around you knowing that i'm just one of your flings now."
"y/n-"
it was far too late. y/n had shut the door and left.
she was gone. long gone.

Who Are You Trying to Convince? - Neymar Jr x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n figures out why neymar has been so distant
warnings: cursing, lying, flirting with ex, anger
genre: angst ending in heartbreak
word count: 1.5k
....................................................
"can we run the order one more time?" the fashion show director called out.
the victoria's secret fashion show was the highlight of the year for the brand, and they had to make sure it was perfect.
"this is just to make sure that we are consistent." he yelled out, clapping his hands.
the angels got back into place and began strutting down the runway again. y/n was looking forward to this year's show, the artists and the outfits were like never before.
after another hour or so, the rehearsals finished, and all the models were free to go home. in contrast to everyone else, y/n sort of dreaded the idea. she would see her boyfriend, and he had been distant lately. she'd tried talking to him, apologizing, fixing her behavior, going on dates, but nothing worked. he was just as distant as ever, and it sucked because they were reaching their six month anniversary.
he'd been distant from the start of the relationship, but instead of the distance slowly closing, it just kept getting bigger and bigger. as she got dressed and drove to neymar's house, she tried calling him but he didn't pick up. he must be busy, she assumed. however, when she got home, there was no one there. she called out for him, but there was nothing. she texted him too, no response. she figured he might've gone clubbing, since it was friday night.
....................................................
four hours had passed since y/n got to neymar's house, and she watched as the clock struck twelve. out of pure boredom, y/n decided to check the news.
it was the usual, political disagreements between parties, international news, and something about a new research study that had come out. she scrolled through the headlines until she found one that caught her eye.
famous footballer neymar jr. seen at club with ex-girlfriend, bruna marquezine!
y/n felt her stomach drop. she collected herself. bruna goes out on fridays too, they could've just been caught at the same place, and the paparazzi decided to make a story out of it.
she clicked on the article. there were photos. that was neymar and bruna for sure. the first photo was them both at the same club. the second one was them talking. the third was him pulling her hand away to an isolated corner. the fourth was them talking again, and his eyes really did give it all away. he looked at her with longingness and desire, and she returned the expression. the fifth picture was them going back inside. the sixth was a photo of them together, smiling. he had his arm around her shoulders as she leaned into him.
there were too many photos for this to be fake. y/n felt tears fill her eyes. is this why he had been so distant? because he wanted bruna back?
....................................................
at 1:30 is when neymar returned home. he came in laughing. y/n looked up from where she was sitting, a barstool near the kitchen counter.
"hi babe." he said, greeting y/n, which he hadn't done in weeks. "what're you doing here?"
"hey. missed you, so i decided to come." she smiled. "where were you?'
"club, couple of friends invited me to go get drinks." he explained.
"sounds fun! did you meet anyone else there?" she questioned, making sure to sound happy instead of angry and hurt.
"nah, just me and the boys." he brushed off.
"really? because every single news article is saying something else." y/n said.
they looked at eachother, dread instantly filling neymar's eyes.
"what are you on about now?" he asked, the change in his tone evident.
"famous footballer neymar jr. seen at club with ex-girlfriend, bruna marquezine." y/n read from the article.
he rolled his eyes.
"you don't actually believe that shit, do you?" he scoffed.
"i didn't, until six photos were shown. i didn't, until i realized you had ignored all my calls and texts. i didn't, until you started acting distant." she said, rage slowly beginning to seep into her voice.
"it's loud at the club, i'm sorry for not having superhearing. i'm sorry i get tired after running around all fucking day. and i'm sorry i ran into an old friend and said hi." he said, passive-aggressively.
"fuck off. you had to take her into a private corner to talk to her? you had to look at her like that? you had to take a photo with her where you're barely inches apart?" y/n spat, channeling his attitude back at him. "bruna's not just an old friend, she's your ex. if i did that shit, you would've yelled at me the minute i walked in."
"and what're you doing?" neymar chuckled. "i didn't want to talk to her in front of everyone, because i didn't want rumors to spread, but seemingly, they still did. i took a photo with her because she wanted me too. and how did i look at her?
"you looked at her like how you should be looking at your girlfriend, not your ex." she explained.
"she's not just my ex." he said. "long before she was an ex, she was a friend. and she's an established woman, don't act like she isn't. she's an actress, a model, a philanthropist, and a friend.i can't have friends now?"
"not when it's someone who clearly has romantic interest in you."
"so you're jealous?" he concluded.
"neymar! will you just fucking listen?" y/n yelled, not knowing where the sudden anger came from. "i'm your girlfriend so obviously, i'm going to get pissed off when you get a little to comfortable with your ex-girlfriend after you've been distant for the past couple of weeks!"
"oh my god, i was just being polite!" he yelled. "don't worry, the next time any woman comes up to me, i'll shove them off and say 'sorry, i have a girlfriend. please fuck off.'"
"but that's not what you said? you didn't even mention me because the way you were looking at each other and touching each other said everything!" she yelled back. she was not wrong here. "if i did this, you would be down my throat, and i would understand why, because i'm not supposed to be flirting with my ex when i'm in a relationship!"
"i wasn't flirting with her!" he yelled.
"then why don't you tell me what you guys talked about! prove it to me." y/n said, crossing her arms.
"we talked about our careers." he said. "she was the one saying we should meet up and we should go together, and i was the one who said no!"
"but you wanted to say yes! didn't you? you wanted to say yes." y/n whispered softly, feeling the anger turn into deep and utter sadness.
that look he gave her, that look spoke a million words he couldn't. a tear dropped from her eye. she hadn't cried in front of him for months. she quickly wiped away her tear.
neymar's attitude changed, the anger on his face softened to empathy.
"don't cry." he said.
"why, does it make you feel bad? does it finally make you see me as human?" she whispered. "does it hurt you or your ego?"
"that's not fair y/n."
"what's not fair is you dating me when you clearly still have feelings for bruna." she said, coming to a realization. "you never like me, i was just the next thing you could get to try. i was your replacement."
the tears started flowing again.
"no, no, y/n, you know that's not true." he said, walking over and trying to wipe the tears off her face, but she stepped back.
"who are you trying to convince? me or yourself?" she insisted.
of course she never felt close to him, because he was waiting for her to become someone she wasn't. he was waiting for bruna, one way or another.
"you've been dethatched from this relationship ever since it started, because you miss your last one. just do me a favor and admit so i can stop trying to make myself believe you somewhat care about me."
"i do care about you." he argued.
"really? what's my favorite color? when's the show? what's one of my hobbies? what's my favorite movie? when's my birthday?" she asked.
"your favorite color is (wrong color). the show is october 14. one of your hobbies is painting. your favorite movie is (wrong movie). your birthday is (your birthday)."
"really? because my favorite color is (your favorite color). the show is october 21. and my favorite movie is (your favorite movie)." she corrected. "now what's bruna's favorite color. when's her next film coming out? what's her favorite movie?"
"don't do this to me y/n." neymar said, regret clearly filling his eyes.
"answer neymar."
"pink. december 17. pixote." he said.
"and you remember all of that, don't you?"
"please y/n."
y/n shook her head.
"there's going to be a new headline tomorrow. feel free to explain to everyone why." she said, walking over to grab her keys.
"i love you." he said.
the words echoed throughout the house.
"no you don't." she chuckled, leaving through the front door.

Life or Death - Thomas Shelby x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n realizes thomas shelby hasn't been good to her
warnings: character death, cursing, poverty, catcalling, mentions of sex,
genre: heartbreak
word count: 2.9k
.....................................................
Birmingham, 1900
"i'm starving." a young thomas shelby said aloud.
"have you not had anything to eat today?" a young y/n asked.
"money's been tight, i've had to skip meals." tommy explained.
the two ten year olds sat in silence for a moment.
y/n knew what it was like for money to be tight. her family's income had been tight, after the passing of her father. her mom went to teach children at a local school while making dresses on the side to keep the two of them afloat.
"it's almost suppertime, why don't you come to my house?" y/n invited.
"really?" he asked.
"of course." she nodded. "you're my best friend, why would i want to see you hungry?"
that evening, y/n and tommy walked home together and were given a warm welcome by y/n's mother.
"tommy! welcome!" she exclaimed. "come on in you two."
they sat down at the table and began eating supper. stew and dumplings. it was warm and delicious.
to tommy, y/n's house often felt more like home than his own. it was quite small, but it had home-like decorations everywhere. it was nice and toasty since it didn't take much fire to heat the place, and moreover y/n was there.
"you children cannot stay out in the cold during this time of year." y/n's mother scolded, putting her hand on tommy's cheek and seeing how cold it was.
"but we were playing a game-" y/n argued.
"play games inside. i don't want to see you to freeze to death." she continued.
"yes mom." y/n laughed, looking at tommy, knowing they were going to go outside the next day anyways.
it was getting dark out and tommy was full.
"i should probably get going. bye y/n, by ms. y/l/n!" tommy said, getting up.
"wait!" y/n said, running to the kitchen.
she came back with tupperware.
"here, take some home." she insisted.
"no, no, i couldn't-" he argued.
"take it! tell john, arthur, and ada i say hello!" y/n said, shoving the tupperware into his arms.
that night, tommy's siblings had a warm meal.
"this is delicious tommy! where'd you get this from?" arthur remarked.
"y/n. she insisted." he responded.
"you better marry her for this one." arthur laughed.
.....................................................
Birmingham, 1904
"look at the body on that one." a classmate remarked as y/n walked by.
she just rolled her eyes and continued walking. this wasn't unusual.
"you'd make a ton of money at the whore house!" the boy yelled out again as laughter followed.
so would your mother, y/n thought of saying, but decided that it was best for her to not. this boy was twice her size.
"so would your mother." another boy's voice called out.
y/n turned around to see tommy and the other boy standing chest to chest, about to fight.
"what'd you say shelby?" the boy asked.
"so would your mother." he repeated, not an ounce of fear in his voice.
a teacher came and pulled the two apart.
"both of you seperate. if i see this again, i'll make sure to tell your mothers!" she scolded.
both the boys backed away from one another. tommy caught up with y/n.
"thanks tommy." she said.
"it's nothing, i've wanted to say that to him for a while now." tommy laughed.
"my mum's sending me to get groceries today? would you like to join me." y/n asked.
"of course." tommy agreed. "can't wait to eat apples out of the farmer's cart."
"don't do that! you got us chased down last time!" y/n scolded, remembering a set of angry farmers running after them.
they settled down after they were paid, at least. otherwise, who knows what could've happened.
"it was fun!" he argued.
"it was." she agreed.
as she watched tommy walk away, y/n realized that she had a crush on him. but it was just a crush, it wasn't that serious.
.....................................................
Birmingham, 1914
"glad to see you dr." tommy smiled, opening the door to the pub.
"happier to see you mr." she returned the joke.
y/n had always wanted to save people's lives, so she entered the medical field. after gaining main patients, it became more difficult to see tommy as often as she used to. even tommy was on the rise in the business world. it was hard to hangout with one-another, but they always made time.
over the years, y/n's crush on tommy had turned into love, but she didn't know how to tell him. no time ever seemed right.
"there might be a war." tommy said, drinking whiskey at the pub.
"you think you'll get drafted?" y/n asked, wanting him to say no, but knowing what the answer was.
"yes." he answered. "unfortunately."
"it'll just be me and ada." y/n chuckled. "she's better company than you."
"oh really? go drink with her." tommy laughed. "you'll miss me when i go off."
"you know i will." y/n smiled.
.....................................................
y/n realized her worst nightmare had come true as tommy stood at her front door.
"i have to go to france." he said.
she felt water fill up her eyes, but she stayed calm.
"i'll miss you." she smiled.
"i'll miss you too." he smiled back.
he turned around to leave.
"tommy, wait." she said, trying not to cry.
he turned around.
"i didn't know when to tell you this because no time ever seemed right and we were always so busy." she rambled. "but since you're going to france, and i might not see you again, i just want you to know i love you. it's no use for me to say i don't, because it's true. i've loved you ever since i've known you."
the tears started falling. he stared at her for a minute. did she ruin their friendship? did he not feel the same way? would he never talk to her again? did she have to do this before he left?
lost in her thoughts, y/n didn't realize tommy had leaned down and kissed her.
.....................................................
Birmingham, 1918
y/n got down on her knees, that had already been bruised from how much she'd kneeled.
"dear god, please keep tommy, john, and arthur safe." she pleaded. "please keep tommy safe."
she'd done this every morning and every night since the boys were drafted.
"please make it end soon." she continued.
she looked at the couple of photographs her and tommy had together from years before. they used to love taking together, and writing the story on the back.
she got to their last picture. taken four years ago. it was hear and tommy making silly faces. on the back, it said, "tommy's going to france."
she felt a tear run down her cheek. what if he never came back? what if that was their last photo together?
.....................................................
Birmingham, 1919
y/n was overjoyed when all three brothers returned, alive. she hugged tommy so tightly, glad he was alright.
but something had changed. tommy wasn't as happy as he used to be anymore. he didn't smiled as much, but he still did when they were together, and that was all that mattered to y/n.
y/n knew all about the shelby business, having grown very close to ada and polly, she was informed about everything. even when tommy was doing gang work before, he was never as gloomy as he was now. he was much more serious.
she tried desperately to comfort him, and it did work. he did talk about the war with her, and y/n understood he was traumatized. she didn't try to change him or tell him lighten up, she understood the mental toll it had taken on him.
countless nights would tommy tell her about the memories of war and they would end up falling asleep on the floor, in a mix of papers and books.
they were never officially together, they had never gotten then chance. but when tommy was ready, y/n hoped they could make it offical.
one night, they walked into the garrison. y/n had just finished with a long day of patients.
"dr!" arthur greeted y/n with a hug.
"arthur!" she laughed back.
however, there was a new face at the pub. she was pretty, with blonde hair and blue eyes. y/n came up to her.
"i haven't seen you around! are you new?" she smiled, asking.
"yes, i am new." the barmaid responded, quite curtly, y/n noticed.
"i'm y/n! what's your name?" she asked.
"grace. my name is grace." she said, briefly.
"well, grace, i just wanted to say, i think you're absolutely gorgeous." y/n smiled.
grace gave a brief smile back and went back to bartending.
odd, y/n thought, but assumed it was because of how busy the pub was, her mind was probably on working.
.....................................................
"there's this new copper who's been on my ass." tommy said.
"that sucks. has he been sniffing around?" y/n asked.
"yes." he responded, taking a long drag out of his cigarette.
y/n noticed grace very clearly listening to their conversation.
"he's been asking me about, well, y'know." he continued. "they're taken care of, but still. he's onto me."
of course she knew. the guns. tommy had told her everything. his plan and why.
"that's enough about that." he ended. "how's your business, doctor?"
"it's going well." y/n chuckled. "i'm seeing entire lineages now."
"whiskey?" grace asked, coming over.
"no thank you." y/n smiled. "i should get home now."
tommy smiled and said goodbye. y/n thought that was odd, since usually tommy would've walked her out.
"thank you grace." she said, before leaving.
grace ignored her.
.....................................................
y/n was sitting with the shelby's at the garrison. she noticed something about tommy, something odd. he straightened up whenever grace entered the room and he always smiled.
this wasn't the first odd thing tommy had done. since she came, he was at the pub more. he also took her to a horserace. not to mention, his eyes foretold a story between them. it had been a while since tommy looked at her that way.
but there was something odd about grace. she was always listening in and trying to get closer to tommy.
y/n asked to see tommy privately, and that's when she made her point.
"the barmaid, she seems suspicious. do you notice how she's always listening in and trying to get close to you? and how that copper start bothering you the same time she came here?" y/n said.
"her name's grace." tommy responded.
"yes, grace, seems odd." y/n corrected.
"what is it y/n? you can't stand there's another friend of mine?" he said, clearly aggravated.
"no, i don't care about that. i just don't want you to get hurt-"
"hurt? hurt is when i was in france." he interrupted.
"tommy, will you just try to listen?"
"to your bullshit? no." he said.
that hurt.
"you're free to leave." he said simply, taking a drag out of his cigarette.
y/n chuckled, and left.
.....................................................
can y/n say it came as a shock when tommy told her grace had betrayed him and fled the country? not really.
"i told you so." y/n said, plainly. "it was obvious."
tommy seemed pissed at that comment.
"that doesn't mean you can talk down on her." tommy stated.
"well tommy, you can't really control what i say and what i think." she responded back, beginning to get aggravated at his blindness. "and what i think is that grace is a traitor."
"what i think is that you should leave." he said.
"always running from the truth, now-a-days, aren't you?" she smiled, leaving.
y/n would be lying if she said she didn't go home that night and cry, because she did. why was tommy so wrapped around grace? had he fallen in love with her? no, no. it was probably just attraction. it had to be. right?
the next day, tommy apologized for being so harsh to her, and everything was back to normal. no more grace, no more deception, and no more stupidity.
.....................................................
y/n was still waiting for tommy to make it official, but he still hadn't. the war had been over for two years now. she had thought about tommy everyday for the past seven years.
she missed him, she missed what they used to have. it was almost midnight, and she decided she wanted to go see him. she couldn't keep waiting.
she called his number three times, but he didn't pick up, so she drove to his home, and knocked on the door. no answer. she was starting to get worried. she opened the door and walked in on something that made her stomach drop.
it was tommy with grace. and they were having sex on the sofa, and he whispered how much he loved her and how he thought of her everyday. it seemed they had finished, because now they were getting dressed. when tommy turned his head and saw y/n, his eyes grew wide.
y/n felt tears in her eyes and a lump in her throat.
he dragged her into his office.
"what the hell y/n! you can't just fucking barge into my house!" he yelled.
"i called you three times. i knocked on your door and waited outside for five minutes. with the life you live tommy, i got worried." she said, wiping her nose.
"y/n, you have to leave." he said. "i've got something here, and i can't lose it again."
again. y/n felt her stomach drop and her heart break into a thousand pieces.
"again?" she asked. "again! tommy, i have waited for you! i waited for seven fucking years, waiting for you to say you want to try something with me!" she yelled.
"do you not remember! do you not remember the night you got drafted, because i sure as hell do!" she screamed.
"y/n, calm down, you're going to scare grace-"
oh that sent her.
"grace! you think i give two fucks about grace! the one who deceived you, lied to you, manipulated you, and now comes running back!" she screamed even louder.
"i love her!" he yelled.
"you love her! you love her! than what about me!" y/n yelled, tears starting to flow. "what about every day and night i prayed for you during the war! what about every time i invited you to my house for supper! i have waited and waited for you to say that you love me and you just don't!"
tommy was silent.
"i have loved you throughout everything. i was always kind to you. i was good." she continued.
"i'm a bad man, y/n, we know this." he said.
"and i love you even though you're a bad man! you believed every one of her lies of all of my truths. and i still loved you! you kicked me out everytime i brought it up! and guess what? i still loved you."
tommy looked at her.
"who was there by your side when you were scared and alone? who was there every night when you got back from the war and had terrible nightmares? who was there taking care of finn while you were off at war, because i don't think it was fucking grace!"
"i'm sorry." he said.
"no you're not because if you were, you wouldn't have done this in the first place!" she screamed through tears.
"who was there thomas!" that was the first time she had said his full name. "i'm done. don't fucking call me, don't show up to my office, don't come near me. i'm done playing your dark and twisted games just for you to switch the rules so someone else wins. i'm done dealing with a different you every fucking night. i'm done."
thomas looked at her.
"who's it going to be?" y/n asked.
"so well." he responded.
y/n smiled and turned around to leave, but before she left, she said he final words to thomas.
"i'm never going to aid you again. whether it be in life or death."
that was the last conversation between y/n and thomas.
.....................................................
Birmingham, 1924
"just have some soup and rest up, and you'll feel a lot better." y/n advised her last patient of the day.
work had become more of a thing for y/n after word of her spread all across birmingham, she was getting patients from everywhere. and for right reasons, she was a damn good doctor.
she walked them outside before sitting in the waiting room with her receptionist.
"thank you edward, you're free to leave." she said, smiling.
"see you tomorrow doctor." edward smiled as he exited.
y/n was left to close her office. she began putting files away and cleaning equiptment. the doors and windows were locked. the stationary was put away.
suddenly, she heard a loud knock on her door. she turned around to see a face she thought she'd never see again. she stared into his bright blue eyes for a moment, before realizing he was actually here, and that it was just a figment of her imagination.
y/n opened the small window on the door. she looked down to see him carrying grace. she had been very clearly shot.
"she might have a chance, please y/n."
"you chose her over me." y/n said, looking into his piercing blue eyes.
he froze.
"and i told you that very night, i would never aid you again, whether it be life or death." she reminded, shutting the window door.
he banged on the door, pleading. she shot him one last look before shutting the blinds, turning the lights off, and leaving out the back.

It Is Us - Leo Valdez x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n comforts leo after percy insulted him
warnings: slight cursing, tension between characters
genre: (basically) fluff
word count: 1k
……………………….............
the argo ll was an interesting place. one minute, i was next to the son of poseidon who could summon tsunamis at his will, and the next, i was with a handyman who seemed like he was high on sugar and always had cheesy jokes ready.
and was it weird i preferred the second?
leo was undeniably my favorite on the argo ll. the ship felt empty without him, the dinner table felt tense when he wasn’t there, and the control deck seemed stupid when he wasn’t the one pressing the buttons.
we talked a lot, early mornings on the deck, late nights fixing machinery, or even afternoons of just sitting in the control room. we talked about everything. i got to know leo, and know who he really is, when he’s not covering up his pain with humor all the time.
what i loved the most about leo was his personality. the ship was full of serious people, annabeth, jason, frank. then it was full of people who didn’t want to make the serious people mad, hazel, percy, and piper. i love all of the people aboard, i just like one a little more.
……………………….
we were all sitting in the common area, discussing things about the prophecy, monsters, and life as we know it. it was a few of the quiet moments we got on the ship, to just talk. leo was cracking his jokes at every possible minute, which was impressive, considering how he had a remark for just about anything and everything.
i sat on one of the couches, with hazel and frank to my right. on the other couch sat jason and piper, and on the bench were annabeth and percy. leo sat on the arm of a sitting chair. coach hedge was screaming over baseball.
the conversation went on to annabeth, and how impressive her strategic thinking was, and how it was unfair that she got underestimated a lot.
“i just have to be more serious because i’m a blonde, and no one likes to take us seriously.” she explained.
i understood where she was coming from, for a smart woman like annabeth, being stereotyped as a dumb blonde consistently probably rubbed her the wrong way after a while.
“you and jason can team up and take over the camps, like the ‘rage of the blondes’ or something like that. at least one of you’d be taken seriously.” leo laughed, practically turning red as the joked left his mouth.
jason, hazel, frank, and i all chuckled before realizing that percy was staring leo down.
“i think they’d take annabeth more seriously, she’s ten times scarier than me.” jason joked, trying to diffuse the tension that had just taken place in the room.
“leo, i know you think your jokes are funny, but sometimes they’re really not.” percy said, anger clearly tainting his voice.
“I feel ya. my bad, annabeth, i was just messing around, i didn’t mean it like that.” leo said, nonchalantly.
annabeth simply nodded and went back to working on her laptop.
“can she get a proper apology?” percy continued.
“percy, man, it was just a joke.” leo defended, having already apologized in his own way.
“it’s sad leo, how you have to use your personality to make up for everything you don’t have.” he spat back.
i turned to see leo’s eyes fill with hurt. that wasn’t fair of percy, that really wasn’t. leo and i had talked multiple times, and he had brought up how he felt inferior to the other guys. it wasn’t alright for percy to say that.
“i’m sorry annabeth.” leo said calmly, before getting up, and leaving.
the room sat with silence for a moment. i got how leo’s joke came off the wrong way, but he apologized. what was percy’s need to go and villainize him even further.
“what’s even more sad, percy, is how you have to exploit someone else’s insecurities just to appear chivalrous. grow up.” i said angrily, before getting up to follow leo.
i didn’t really care what string of curses he wanted to shoot at me afterwards. right now, i needed to make sure leo was alright.
………………………………………….
i entered leo’s room after knocking, and found him in his bed, tears streaming down his face.
“is it true what he said y/n? does everyone feel like i use my personality to make up for what i don’t have?” he asked.
i sat down next to him.
“he doesn’t mean that, percy was just being an asshole because he thought you hurt annabeth.” i comforted.
“but he’s right, isn’t he? him, jason, and frank, are all huge, scary, powerful, guys. they’re not making up for anything.” he continued.
“he isn’t right, leo. you aren’t any less of a person because your daddy doesn’t control the sky or the sea.” i said, putting my hand on his back.
“i killed my own mom. i am less. i am the seventh wheel. i am the useless one.” he said, draining out thoughts i knew had bothered him for far too long.
“you didn’t kill your mom, it was gaea. and you are not useless and you are not less than anyone else on here. we wouldn’t even be on here if it wasn’t for you! you’re obsessing over the things everyone else has done without realizing they wouldn’t have been able to do any of that without you. you might be a lot of things leo, crazy, funny, kind, but you are not useless, and you are not incompetent.” i explained, emotion flooding my voice.
i saw him wipe away his tears, and a smile appear on his face.
“but i’ll always be the seventh wheel.” he said. “everyone’s got someone, except for me. the only person i like on the ship probably doesn't even like me back. and i can't blame her. it’s leo and his machines or it’s leo and y/n-” he cut himself off abruptly.
he cleared his throat.
“forget that last part.” he said.
“why? it is us, and i wouldn’t have it any other way.” i smiled.
leo smiled back, and we stared into each other’s eyes for a moment. then he leaned in, and i felt my lips make contact with his. i kissed him back, but he pulled out.
“i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have-” he started.
“yeah, you shouldn’t have pulled away so soon.” i smiled, pulling him by his shirt back in for another kiss.

I Won't - Jason Grace x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n is done being jason's last resort
warnings: cursing, suggestive, emotional turmoil
genre: angst
word count: 858
.....................................................................
y/n felt someone knock on her cabin door. she peeked outside to see someone that made her stomach drop. nevertheless, she opened the door.
“jason? are you alright? what’re you doing here, it’s past midnight.” she asked.
this wasn’t the first time jason had shown up at odd hours in the night.
on the surface, y/n and jason were friends. friends who got along because they were forced to hangout with one another so much. but somehow, every time they hung out, it always ended the same. y/n waking up next to a man who was hot hers.
“yeah, i’m fine i guess. piper and i broke up.” he sighed.
y/n felt bad, of course, but honestly, they were on and off all the time. they broke up every two weeks, would go without each other for a week, and then they would be back together. it was a never ending cycle. it’s easy to infer where jason ended up every time they broke up.
she let him in.
“i’m sorry.” she said, patting his back. “is it like permanent? you’re not getting back?”
she knew that might’ve sounded harsh, but it was true.
“she said she’s ‘fucking done’ with me. we had this whole stupid fight, and she just ended it.” he explained. “i’ve never seen her so angry.”
“maybe she’ll change her mind? she could’ve just been stressed about something else.” y/n comforted, knowing her words were daggers that only stabbed her.
she really liked jason. like head over heels. sure, he’s a hero, and that made everyone want him, but what y/n loved about jason was who he was. a smart, kind, and caring man. she loved him, not what he had accomplished. but here she was, assuring him another girl would come back to him.
“maybe.” he agreed.
a moment of silence passed between the two.
“but, it kind of got me thinking about you.” he started.
y/n felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
“what do you mean?” she asked.
“it got me thinking about how you’ve always been there for me.” he continued, leaning in so that he was barely inches away from y/n. “how long we’ve being doing..this.”
“where are you going with this jason?” she asked, her heart feeling heavy.
“if me and piper are really done, i think we should give you and me a shot.” he said, in a low, husky tone.
they were about to kiss. was y/n’s dream finally coming true? had jason finally realized she loved him? or was he just looking for a replacement. his words repeated in her head, and the more they played over, the louder another thought became: she was his second choice.
“jason.” she said.
“hm?”
she wanted to kiss him, she really did. but she held it back.
“you’re fucking insane if you think that’s how you win me over.” she spat coldly, getting up.
“y/n, i wasn’t trying to-“
“no, shut up jason! you were trying. you knew what you were doing, coming here every time you and piper broke up!” she said, anger filling her voice. “you knew that i liked you. you knew that i would do anything just for two minutes of your attention. you knew that i’d let you touch me because i was so desperate for you to say you felt someway about me!”
“how was i supposed to know? you never told me anything!” he argued, standing up.
“maybe every time i let you fuck me should’ve been a clue!” she persisted. “i’m sick of being your second choice! im sick of being your fuck buddy whenever you can’t have piper! i’m sick of you hiding me! i won’t continue to be the girl you come to whenever you’re horny or in a bad place with piper! i won’t fucking do it!”
“if you never wanted to do this, all you had to do was say something. you know i would’ve never forced you.” he said, angrily.
“yes jason but what part of ‘i was so desperate for you to notice me’ do you not get?” she yelled.
he shook his head.
“you’re blaming me for the fact that you decided to sleep with me.” he chuckled.
“i’m blaming you for toying with my emotions!” she shouted.
y/n composed herself, and realized jason was not worth all of this yelling and screaming. he was worth nothing but a goodbye.
“look jason, i’m done being your second choice. i won’t do that to myself because i don’t deserve it. don’t come to my cabin again, don’t talk to me for anything other than work, and don’t call me.” y/n finished. “you’re free to leave.”
he chuckled before making his way towards the door and leaving.
y/n took a minute to process what had just happened. and yes, she was upset she lost jason, but he was worth losing if his only interest in her was her body. six words echoed in her mind as she laid in the darkness.
i won't do this to myself

You Promised - Percy Jackson x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n and percy realize they will never be the friends they used to be as not even time can fix these wounds
warnings: betrayal, sadness, cursing, anger
genre: angst
word count: 1k
.........................................................
y/n watched as the argo ll struggled to get the athena parthenos on deck. she tried desperately to help, but had to stop when she saw annabeth slip into what could be tartarus. y/n jumped down carefully, and clung onto the very edge of the wall.
“don’t let go! i’m going to get you out of there!” she yelled to annabeth and percy, who were holding on for dear life.
although annabeth and y/n had never been great friends, they were on the same team and they were fighting for the same cause. what kind of hero would she be if she let her own teammate fall into hell?
y/n reached a hand out to percy, telling him to hoist himself up to her and then they could pull annabeth out. suddenly, the large statue hit the wall, causing an earthquake, and y/n slipped.
“ah!” she said, dragging her sword into the wall.
she was to annabeth’s right, but below her. both hands on her sword for her life. she pulled herself back and swung, and kicked annabeth upwards. percy was able to pull her up and jason lifted annabeth up, back onto the argo ll. the force was killing y/n. percy then pulled himself up, while clinging to the small side of the wall.
“percy! please, help!” y/n cried, trying to get back up, but she couldn’t, she needed another hand.
“i promise nothing will happen to you y/n!” percy yelled back.
another piece of the rock percy was standing on fell off. he stood on a thin narrow piece of rock. the terror y/n felt for both herself and percy was unmatched. they were friends, and you’re supposed to help a friend, right?
“percy, get up here!” annabeth called frantically.
“what about y/n?” percy yelled back.
at this point, y/n was holding back tears. annabeth wouldn’t leave her here, she wouldn’t. despite their differences, she was a good woman, and she wouldn’t do this to her teammate. at least, that’s why y/n prayed.
“percy please!” annabeth screamed, desperation filling her voice, and tears coming to her eyes. “i can’t lose you again!”
percy looked down at y/n, who’s arms were sore. she gave him a look, don’t do this to me, but he did it. percy took annabeth’s hand and got onto the argo ll. pain ran across y/n’s already sore body, as tears filled her eyes. she saw percy’s sea green eyes looking down at her.
“hold on y/n!” leo yelled. “we’re going to save you!”
“you promised.” she whispered, before her sword gave out.
y/n felt herself fall, fall deep into the pits of hell.
what y/n saw in tartarus was something no average demigod could withstand, and she did it alone. she fought for her life every hour while the betrayal sank in every minute. torturing memories replayed in her head, and she was forced to relive them.
just when y/n thought she couldn’t be more messed up, she ended up on an entirely different level of insane.
………………………………………………………..
when she saw the seven again, relief filled her veins as she ran towards leo with a warm embrace. the two had grown close, often working on machines together and cracking corny jokes. she hugged hazel as tightly as she could. hazel was like y/n’s younger sister, and y/n so desperately wanted to protect her innocence, so that she would not end up like herself, corrupted and ruined. she never knew she would miss frank, but she did.
jason and piper were greeted with short side-hugs, and a half-smile. but the rage that filled y/n’s veins when she saw percy and annabeth was demonic. just when it couldn’t get it worse, she got stabbed in the back. she walked straight past the two, not even acknowledging their presence, and gave nico a warm hug, which he reciprocated.
“i thought you were dead.” leo said, smiling.
“you’re lucky, i would’ve made my ghost haunt you for years to come.” she joked back.
………………………………………………………..
the seven, y/n, nico, will, and reyna were all discussing the prophecy and the attacks, and what was to come. when they had come up with somewhat of a plan, percy asked to talk to y/n, alone.
y/n would’ve done anything but talk to him, but she politely nodded, following him into a small room.
“i’m glad you’re back.” percy started.
“really? because it seemed you were keen on my death.” she spat back.
pain and regret filled his eyes.
“not a day goes by without me regretting my decision.” he said.
“that’s not my problem.” she said, angrily.
“i’m sorry y/n. i’m so so sorry.” he said, sincerity flooding his eyes.
“i didn’t have to dive in, but i did, to save annabeth, because even though we have our differences, we’re fighting for the same cause. i saved you perseus.” y/n said, the thoughts her mind had piled up finally releasing. “all for you two to stab me in the fucking back. the back that took all sorts of slashes for you.”
“i know-”
“y’know what i know? i know that if i were annabeth hanging, about to fall into literal hell, you would’ve gone in with me. i get that, that’s boyfriend duties. but we were friends. you were supposed to pull me out of tartarus, not push me in.” she continued.
the silence was loud because percy knew y/n was right.
“you promised percy. You fucking promised.” she finished.
it became clear to percy that day that they would never be like the friends they used to be. she would never forget, and he couldn’t blame her. from that day onwards, y/n never called percy, ‘percy’, again, it was always ‘perseus’, or she rarely acknowledged him. they never hung out in the same room unless either hazel, frank, or leo, were there. she quit calling him a friend. time could heal everything, but not this betrayal, not this wound. whatever trust she had in percy deteriorated to nothing. why trust a man who couldn’t keep his promise?
