LinkedUniverse: About

This is Linkeduniverse 101. welcome!  this post for anyone new. 

About/origin:

I watched the movie ‘the 13th warrior’ and I found the interaction between the characters the most interesting part of the movie. Meanwhile, I was drawing essentially the same character, Link  (the Legend of Zelda),  but adding as much variation to him as possible. That got me thinking, despite the fact that he is one character, the various personalities shaped by the various adventures make them very different. So I wanted to explore that more and see what kind of character interaction would result. here is where it started ->[original sketches]

the name “LinkedUniverse” was suggested by @ask-atherian-films

Plot:

the most general plot: Dark Link causing trouble which caused their meeting and needs to be stopped.

However, it’s a lot of inconsistent ideas and interactions that are just pieces of an incomplete puzzle. I have no plans on fleshing out a full complete story.

Setting:

locations vary across time and place. so it’d be much like Hyrule Warriors setting where the land is mix mashed together.

Characters:

I combined several versions of Link together despite some of them being a separate incarnation in canon, this was solely based on design and aesthetic. (there’s only so many times I could reinvent toon link). They are post-adventure, so they have their experience under their belt.

Hero of Time (Ocarina of time, Majora’s mask, Hero’s Shade) the leader type Mental age is unknown (the others guess 60+, but that may be their joke) Very decisive (has dealt with the should/would/could of time travel) Wise and Stoic like this ‘father’, but has a youthful sense of humor   views the Master Sword as a curse/burden good with fairies, they never run from him

Hero of Twilight (Twilight Princess) the leader type (though he feels otherwise) amazing sword skill and marksmanship fierce and focused in battle   humble animal whisperer getting over a 'complicated’ relationship

Hero of Warriors (Hyrule Warriors) the leader type (captain) keeps a polished look prideful the charmer of the group has 'women’ problems good with organizing and communication he prefers to work in groups

Hero of the Wild (Breath of the Wild) the survivalist good runner, hunter, stealth but can’t swim well takes any questioning of Zelda too personally (the failure thing) identity crisis due to memory loss insecure, the only one to have failed his role as hero uses 'strange’ magic (Sheikah tec) the cook

The Chosen Hero / The Hero of the Sky (Skyward Sword) despite seniority, he’s not the leader type kind, joyful, bashful fastest sword skill the most open among them about his love-interest (Zelda)  views the Master Sword as a blessing

Hero of the Four Sword (Minish Cap, Four Sword, Four Sword adventure) yes he has courage, but this little one is also brave wields the Four Sword confident, very quiet, calm, and collected unless “divided” small, with smaller friends tends to 'disappear’ at times skilled smith  

Hero of the Wind (Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks) full of personality, very expressive carefree-ness can be mistaken for laziness the last to think of Zelda as a damsel in distress good at stealth and navigation though the youngest he keeps up just as well

The Hero of Legend (A Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Link’s awakening, a Link Between Worlds) chooses not to be the leader type the most experienced adventurer he’s got a tool for that very mature for his age, however, still young at heart the most reliable, you want him on your team seems emotionally unaffected by his travels however he keeps Koholint his dark secret  

Hero of Hyrule (The Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link) just a humble traveler does not think of himself as a warrior like the others he handles himself very well in battle despite not having any training street smart persistent. doesn’t know the meaning of 'give up’ magic, tools, survival he can do it all
