Y'know something that just irks me? When there is a character in media that is a non-standard body type but then the fanart normalizes them. Yes, a cold overdone take, but I'm not even talking about a character forced to be sexualized, I'm talking about a character that is already flaunted within its own media and is still changed to have a skinny waist.
Muscular women with a blocky shape, an actual MILF and not just a character with a fat ass and boobs like a cartoon caricature. I'm talking about how for some reason everything is forced into an hourglass shape even when other shapes are plenty hot.
The one in particular that brought on this little rant was Noi from Dorohedoro. She is a big woman, very muscular, dressed up in a sexy outfit at one point, but look at her core. She has moderate sized tits which are not too exaggerated on her frame to the point they look more like pectoral muscles at first, which was reinforced by when she was first introduced wearing a mask and jumpsuit and without her voice she could have been mistaken for a male bodybuilder. Her torso is thick and wide, with a square shape and defined abdominal muscles. Early on she is dressed up in a more sexy outfit and even then she is a brick house. The only hourglass shape about her is the side profile because of just how large her upper back muscles are.
Even when the art is making her muscular, for some reason people tend to shrink in her waist. Plenty of people drool over her as she is shown in the manga and anime, so why? She is already attractive as she is, and it annoys me to no end that just because she is attractive in a less common way, many artists will take out some of the notable parts of her character design in exchange for a standardized shape with a bit of muscle slapped on. In some cases it just starts to look uncanny since muscles aren't supposed to do that. Even when the artist doles make a good-looking shape out of it, it just still isn't the same character anymore it's an attractive figure but if you turned it into a shadow you wouldn't know who that shadow belonged to.
Honestly, I don't think artists are even consciously doing it. It's just the way art is taught and what references lead to. My own fursona has a non-standard body type and many times artists struggle to draw it because they just haven't been taught how to do something similar and so there is no muscle memory associated with it or idea of the silhouette that they need to match.

TRANSFORMERS: REBELLION
so this is an idea that I initially had all the way back in middle school, when I suddenly had the thought; "what if I was put in charge of writing a transformers cartoon?"
it went through several mental iterations before I eventually settled on the version that I'm currently (attempting) to write. I'm using Prime and the Bayverse films as my primary inspirations (because those are what I grew up with,) with a smattering of Animated and a dash of IDW for flavor.
I dont wanna give too much of the plot away because I do plan on posting the actual thing publicly at some point (probably on *grits teeth* AO3, because as much as I dislike that site and what it stands for, it's got the biggest audience) but its mostly a pretty bog standard transformers plot, MC gets a car, car is Bumblebee, intergalactic wartime shenanigans ensue etc, just with some more explicit robogore and swearing and stuff.
of course, a transformers story cant be a transformers story unless it has, y'know, transformers. so here's a quick rundown the the characters I intend on including in the first "season" of the story.
AUTOBOTS: Optimus Prime: I mean, it's optimus prime. everybody knows this guy. im angling more for the 'modern' interpretation of the character as a serious and wise leader. transforms into an International Lonestar 18-wheeler
Bumblebee: I'm not keeping the muteness thing for this version, because i feel like its kinda overplayed and I wanted to be able to use him to introduce the basic premise. He turns into a Chevrolet Camaro, and later, a Chevrolet Volt
Ironhide: though a bit simpleminded, hes a boisterous type of guy, always ready for a fight, kinda like the goku of cybertron. transforms into a 2021 Toyota Tacoma
Arcee: whereas Ironhide fights, Arcee kills. and shes really good at it too. Her appearance is a meld of g1 and prime, g1 styled head and coloration, with a slimmer body. transforms into a Can-Am Spyder 3 wheeled motorcycle.
Ratchet: A curmudgeonly old medic, if you've got something broken, hell fix you up, but he'll also complain the whole time. Transforms into an ambulance (duh)
DECEPTICONS: Starscream: primary antagonist for the first part of the story and leader of the hunt for the final pockets of Autobot resistance. Snide and conniving, it seems like he's always got some hidden trick or plan up his sleeve. Transforms into an F-18 Super Hornet fighter jet
Barricade: A former prison guard turned head of law enforcement, his favorite pastime is picking on those he deems weaker than himself. however, hes mostly bark without much bite, meaning that if his prey looks like they can stand up to him, hes more likely to flee than to fight. Transforms into a Hummer H1
Knock-Out: Though he got his start as a cosmetic surgeon, Knock-Out ended up garnering an encyclopedic knowledge of nearly every medical technique under cybertron's sun. he's also vain, a total coward, and a non-combatant, meaning hes not very well liked by the other decepticons. transforms into a second generation Acura NSX.
Soundwave: The enigmatic Communications Officer, it's said that he only speaks to his mini-con allies and Megatron. Efficient, dutiful, and loyal to the cause, Soundwave's presence is a constant reminder how the Decepticon cause sees and hears all. Transforms into a RQ 170 Sentinel stealth drone
Megatron: the Big Man himself, not currently on Earth, busy finalizing his induction as ruler of Cybertron. You really don't want to get on his bad side. Transforms into a Cybertronian bomber plane, visually inspired by the Imperium's air vehicles in Warhammer 40k, specifically the Thunderbolt

Shit heard in Ghost Stories meme
"When this bitch kicks, I'm moving to Vegas."
"Have you accepted Jesus as your personal savior?"
"I don't care about your cat, he's probably dead."
"Principals always look like lesbians."
"When a stronger spirit appears, the weaker spirit cowers. But all evil spirits cower before Jesus!"
"Oh my, what a gifted seamstress. I hope you're not a homosexual."
"If you want something to happen, you just need to pray! And not be a Muslim. Or Jewish."
"What the fizzityuck was that?"
"Where's the damn cat?"
"These pajamas are gay."
"Hey, I've got an idea. Why don't you come to the scary, isolated pay phone on the bad side of town, alone?"
"Maybe you have a hidden talent you don't know about! Like Paris Hilton being an actress! Oh, scratch that."
"THINK OF A BIG BLACK MAN CHASING YOU!"
"A car accident... must have been hit by an old Chinamen. I don't mean to be racist, but those people CANNOT drive."
"You'd be surprised just how many transgressions a filthy little sinner like you can rack up in just a day."
"Look, a little Jew boy."
"Come rub my nipples."
"Drop the Krispy Kreme, Serpiko! We need your help here!"
"My BS detector is going DING!"
"I can read. Not well, but I can read. And those letters... are BACKWARDS!"
"The weird part is, I'm not even high. Not a bit. Totally sober!"
"The internet was a blessing from the Lord Jesus to spread the word of God throughout the world, but then Muslims and pedophiles stole it and used it to lure out and seduce children like you."
"Hey, want some candy little boy?"
"You can use it if you promise not to be on the phone too long. I know how you Pagans take advantage of others."
"A bunch of somber, quiet people against a red nuclear sky near a river of blood. Wow, that doesn't look threatening at all."
"Why? Because Jewish people rock!"
"That's so sweet... in a 'you scare the crap out of me in an Emily Rose' kind of way!"
"Here, you can take pooky-poo. He used to be my man, but we broke up."
"The V on my sweater stands for 'Very Big Deal', but that's beside the point."
"Come on, jump... I SAID JUMP!"
"Yes, the animal cemetery. Hear the plot point bells going off?"
"I hope Stephen King never sees this."
"She's looking straight at us, I don't think we hid very well."
"Those 3 to 4 cardboard boxes aren't going to hold them for long!"
"Lord reveal your salvation, for I am your favorite among these heathens."
"Yo sensei Dave, what's haps on the snaps with the craps?"
"You two-timing son of a bitch! Who's gonna take care of these little bastards!?"
"Oh splinter ohhhhh!"
"Shut up. You're here, and you're an idiot."
"Years ago, people went in there but they didn't come out. Not unlike your sister."
"2.2 Celsius... Metric system. Who thought this was a good idea again? I'm just gonna put 100. No one's gonna know."
"Oh perfect, it's in Japanese. Ching chong nong ding tow! Wait, that's Chinese."
"God, can you go bomb an abortion clinic or something?"
"Creepy Japanese men can be cabbies too y'know. But women should never be allowed to drive."
"Obeying horror movie rules, I'm going to go out alone. You stay here while I go look for help."
"I'm not giving you a reach around."
"You're such a bitch."
"First we do a geographic montage to show we traveled a long way from your house. There, that should be enough."
"I'm gonna beat you retarded."
"Jesus saved my ass."
"And what a lovely little ass it is, too."
"¡NO CORRAN EN EL HOSPITAL, CABRONES!"
"Now that is some really nice animation."
"Nice rack. Mind if I make 'em a little bigger? Ahahaehehahhha boobies. Loooove boobies. Nice lips too. I USED TO HAVE LIPS!"
"Lunchtime BJ?"
"Let's see... purple, for your hair. Can't tell this was a goddamn anime."
"Okay. Stop trying to look up my skirt. IT'S A CARTOON!"
"Holy time machine, Batman, it's 1973!"
"Holy pre-Parkinson's Michael J Fox Christopher Lloyd Back To The Future plot ripoff device! Where's my DeLorean?"
"I'll grab her ass!"
"Oh damn anime, look what's happened to my eyes."
"Leo! Leo! Leo! Leo! Goddamnit! Goddamnit! Goddamnit! Goddamnit!"
"It's the chick from The Ring! I mean, The Grudge! What movie are we ripping off again?"
"Oh my god, did that spell work? You know, like the one where you write your name in an eraser? I hear the head cheerleader's having an abortion."
"Such a bitch! Stop being such a friggin' skank and give it back!"
"Sometimes yes means no!"
"Moshi moshi! I mean, hello."
"Tomomi? Ain't no Tomomi girl living here, so what?"
"Get your cracker ass into some rehab, I ain't got time for this bullshit."
"MOTHAFUCKA."
"Run! She's a ghost and a bitch!"
"I'm goin' fuckin' crazy."
"HEY! Maybe if they paid their fuckin' phone bill, you could call again!"
"Nobody's talking to you. Just drive the bus, bus driver. Fuckin' nosy."
"Oh, sorry. All you little yellow people look alike to me. And African Americans, but not the Mexicans. Why do you think that is? I mean, don't you find that just the weirdest thing?"
"Romans 1:26, God gave them over to shameful lusts!"
"A view of the blood-stained lake. AHHHHHHH"
"Oh it may be blue now, but soon it will be redder than Republican Texas."
"No, I'm serious, bitch. I swear to god. Blue."
"Maybe this vase isn't nailed down."
"We go with the snow but not the snow that is yellow!"
"Alright everybody, it's 4:30. School is finally over. Time to go home, load up that bong, and watch Pokemon!"
"Leave me alone, I'm doing my standard anime 'elbows up' pose."
"Oh wow. I can't even comprehend how inappropriate this is."
"GOD YOU'RE MAKING ME SICK."
"God you are four of the ugliest fucking kids I've ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes on. I can't wait for this bitch to kill you."
"NANIIIIIII?"
"Oh my, definitely a 10."
"If you do, I'll suck you all for a Scooby Snack."
"Any closer and there'd be insertion."
"I may be a successful doctor, but first and foremost I'm a Jew."
"You know what I hear? I hear the sound of you shuttin' the fuck up."
"Let's see... 7?"
"What the FUCK are you talking about!?"

Cartoon Network Universe: Earth One - A Tour of California
*REPOSTED FROM FANFICTION.NET
DEVELOPER'S JOURNAL - SUPPLEMENTARY
Unfortunately, no this isn't Chapter 7. But it is something worth reading.
So if you've been following this story for a while, you've probably noticed that there are a few anachronisms in the world of the Cartoon Network Universe. I do have an explanation in mind, but for now, let's just keep it at me having to make certain calls when it comes to merging the worlds of so many Cartoon Network shows, as the majority of them were produced independently from one another.
But I also realized it wasn't entirely fair to you guys, who might not be able to keep track of worldbuilding and expository content.
So, I've come to a decision that I am probably going to regret in the future, specifically in terms of the style and genre. I am going to have, between each 6 chapters, a little cutaway bumper that informs you on the map of this world. This will give me the chance to clarify all things that you might be confused by when it comes to my writing (Honestly I don't blame you. My English isn't the best...which is ironic since it's my first language.)
The reason why I was so apprehensive of this idea at first was because of the tone it might cast over the rest of the story. Informational bumpers like this are a staple of certain anime like Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia, but with this story's subject matter leaning closer to AOT, I feared that these bumpers would create a "history-book" vibe to it. Y'know, like these alternate history stories people write where they go in-depth into the layout and politics of the war.
What's problematic about that approach for me is that it can be a very adult motif, one that can strip the story of any fantastical elements by grounding everything into hard square reality. Furthermore, most fellow FusionFall stories implement a personal touch into their work. Granted, by focusing on the entire cast of NPCs and the larger CNU, I haven't made this job easy for myself. But come future chapters and the personal touch will be essential, just as it was essential with Volume 1.
But I guess that's a bunch of superstition. Right now, enjoy reading the layout of the setting of my story. Be ready for even more creative liberties than seen in the OG Game, because the Map I created here is vastly different compared to that of the original or remakes. This map also comes with nice little exposition blurbs, all of which are set One Month before the Time Travel Experiment and thus two months before the invasion begins. I will be listing heroes that claim these areas or districts within each city. As the story moves forward from this bumper, heroes covered by a [SPOILER] tag will be revealed as they claim positions throughout the war and beyond. For future stories outside of FusionFall, it's also very possible that you'll be seeing this bumper more than once and with updates.
MAP OF TURFS
The Sister Cities - California
SIYENN: The largest of the three Sister Cities situated in the Western state of California, Siyenn City is a melting pot of countless businesses, families, and liveliness, all enhanced by the ever-growing pursuit of innovation. With a multitude of heroes, technological corporations, child geniuses, and casual life, this city is not only fortified, but ensured of a brighter tomorrow!
TECH SQUARE - Dexter McPherson, Simon Astronomonov; Once Siyenn Square, it was rechristened as Tech Square in honor of the astounding technological achievements transpiring there. Home to partnering and competing companies, Dexlabs and Mandark Industries, Tech Square has become the center of innovation and impossibility, inspiring countless geniuses by any standard to look sharp for a fine day for science!
-- Dexter McPherson, founder, CEO, and Chief Scientific Developer of Dexlabs, has announced a private time travel experiment to the public! Seeking to send volunteers or a volunteer approximately one hour into the future! The seclusive but famous scientist reportedly received supplies from various suppliers, such as Goat's Junkyard, Maxwell's Plumbing Services (oddly enough), an unnamed investor rumored to be in Quahog, Rhode Island, as well as MIT and the CERN research project! For any brave and daring volunteers, answer the call, for the time is now! And the test subject can be YOU!
GALAXY GARDENS - N/A; This emporium of greenhouse greatness was marked as a sign of good faith and will towards the ecological salvation of the planet. Galaxy Gardens is a thriving plant and animal sanctuary for all to enjoy, and though some might denote it as a simple zoo, Dexlabs has announced its intentions to study plant-based solutions to climate change and other potential problems facing the planet.
STEAM ALLEY - [SPOILER]; Though the most economically staggered of the city, this district, nicknamed "Steam Alley", held an astounding position as home to leaders of the automotive and energy industries, such as that of the Rainbow Factory and WERK Co. Though with the rise of tech giants like Dexlabs and M-Industries, it's not in that great shape anymore. But before its time, Steam Alley saw rise to oil trade tycoons such as Boss Franklin Fullbright, and even renowned bio-engineers like the late Rafael and Violeta Salazar.
-- Homeland Security agency Providence have been spotted in the area, more than likely in the hopes of opening a city-based installation. Though many people are feeling safer already, some have objected for opposite reasons, as well as the plans not offering any economic resurgence to Steam Alley.
MOREBUCKS TOWERS - [SPOILER]; As part of a housing initiative with the Morebucks Corporation, namely on the behest of Jennifer Morebucks, the city looks to open more housing options for those in the middle class or lower. Using the latest advancements in technology from Mandark Industries, the construction of these houses will be sped up to a considerable rate. The future looks bright for what used to be a normal everyday district.
-- Ms. Morebucks, a former supervillain, made a clear and distinct threat to her markets and shareholders that if they did not invest in the project, she would have them evicted from their houses and would use them for menial purposes. The shareholders were almost immediately confused by the nature of this act, wondering how a threat such as that could be fueled by a genuinely noble and thoughtful initiative. They all chalked it up to an ulterior motive on her part. Nevertheless, they all decided to fund her project.
CITY STATION - [SPOILER]; The heart of Siyenn City is also the best way to get around town; the City Station district is the public transportation staple of the entire city, and even more as its Slider Buses can carry you all the way to Townsville and Bellwood. Its transportation-focused industry has made it the centerpiece for a cultural metropolis, with bright lights lining the skyscrapers, joints and hangouts for people of all ages to enjoy. City Station's refurbished place in Siyenn City was a part of Dexlabs and Mandark Industries' massive technological initiative, building the massive Station Tower to serve not only as a hub for all passengers, but to also provide extra connection services to the entire district. City Station continues to thrive thanks to Dexlabs and Mandark's continued efforts.
-- City Station High School would like to publicly recognize one of its own students, Vana Thunderwarp, for her bravery and heroic saving of Dr. Gale Spacebyte, a government scientist who would have been killed by a malfunctioning slider. But that's not all. The young anthro-wolf student immediately contacted Dexlabs and helped identify the issue that caused the malfunction. We at City Station High School value dedicated study and civic duty within our students, and open our arms to those like Ms. Thunderwarp willing to make a difference in this vast world. (even if our moron Principal is the literal opposite - Noah V., friend of Vana)
GENIUS GROVE - [SPOILER]; The innovation does not stop at the city, as the suburbs of Genius Grove are home to some of the most impossible things the world has yet to see. The birthplace and home of both Dexter McPherson and Simon Astronomonov, they both grew up with like-minded intentions concerning technology, actively working together to see their dreams come to fruition. It is here in Genius Grove where great minds not only think alike, but aspire to be greater.
-- Shady businessman Benedict Uno and his delightful wards recently attempted to close a deal with Alderman Jeff McPherson, father of Dexlabs CEO Dexter McPherson, to open their delightful developments project. McPherson declined, much to the chagrin of Uno. There's been no official word on his next steps, though some say he may attempt to try again in Bellwood's Peach Creek Estates.
ENDSVILLE - Billy, Mandy, The Grim Reaper; Endsville may seem like the most haunted place on Earth, probably because it is. But behind a gloomy and shocking exterior is a community that thrives on liveliness and prosperity. No matter how many people try to escape our beloved town, Endsville is your last stop...to not die, but to...just come here, please. Please?
ORDINAL HEIGHTS - [N/A]; A calmer neighborhood for a calmer time, Ordinal Heights is a place to keep away from the various calamities of the universe and relax. Once you rent a house, you'll never want to leave. So come visit our little town!
-- Due to unexplained bursts of gravitational fluxes and massive surges of radiation emerging from a [REDACTED], Dexlabs and Providence have advised that this neighborhood be quarantined and cordoned off until further notice. For your own safety, DO NOT VISIT.
CRYSTAL COVE - [Formerly] Mystery Inc.; Before Endsville was dubbed the most haunted place on the West Coast, Crystal Cove held that title, famous for being the final place of activity from Mystery Incorporated, and infamous for giving the Ohio-born detective group genuine supernatural threats to investigate before they all vanished and (presumably) disbanded.
MASSACHUSETTS PARK - Mordecai & Rigby; Founded by Curtis Montgomery and his lollilander pupil Stick Maellard in the late 1800s, Massachusetts Park has stood the test of time in blazing through history and struggle. In the center of the park lies the Maellard Residence, providing the area with a feeling of home and safety. Despite reports of the zany, unpredictable, the surreal, and worst of all, various reports of employee misconduct, the Park and its staff stand ready to preserve this historic foundation.
-- Last week was the 2-year anniversary for the death of Pops Maellard, the son of Mr. Stick Maellard and the then-groundskeeper of Massachusetts Park. In what could only be described as launching an entire acre of land into space, the Park was reported to have been caught in a battle between the forces of good and evil in the cosmos, to which Pops sacrificed himself. There has been no comment from the Government-sponsored Galactic Guardian Group (G3), or the Department of Metahuman Affairs and Abnormalities, who specialize in investigation of the cosmically supernatural. All the latter group had to say was that classified intergalactic contacts were looking into the aftermath. The Special Extraterrestrial Containment Team arrived shortly after to debrief all members trapped aboard the Park in launch. In this anniversary, many of the Park's staff were there to pay respects to their dear friend.
- Goat's Junkyard, West Coast Division - Megas (Coop); Originally founded in New Jersey, proprietor and former tattoo artist Scot 'Goat' Rienecker expanded his junkyard operations to the other side of the United States. In Jersey, his junkyard gained a notable reputation for housing a vast array of salvaged technology, with many complaining simply because the city would be destroyed by robots and aliens before they could visit. Goat's Junkyard is the place to go if you're looking for off-hand items and re-engineered technology, no matter how illegal it might be!
TOWNSVILLE: - Powerpuff Girls; The City of Townsville! A safe haven for all, a flourishing and lively populace, a loyal and brave community, and home to the world's youngest and greatest trio of superheroines! This fine city has been under their protection for 10 prosperous years, and the skies have never been brighter since. This fine city is a place to go to see hope before your very eyes. Ignore the high insurance rates and outrageous crime waves, because the Powerpuff Girls will always be there to save you in the City of Townsville!
-- People are still worried for the middle Powerpuff, Buttercup Utonium, who suffered a major blow during a battle with the evil Mojo Jojo. The Powerpuff was smacked far off into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared into the waters. The green Powerpuff returned to her family a week after her disappearance, but has refused to offer any knowledge or word on what happened to her during her absence. We wish our toughest fighter the best in health and spirit as she continues to keep the city safe!
- Townsville Square - Jenny Morebucks; A bustling shopping industry incarnate, this plaza is at the heart of the city and maintains its great variety of malls, studios, and more, with the trademark location of the Sunken Super-Mall, this is a center for consumerism, and we invite YOU to find everything you'll need and want.
-- With the retirement of her father, Oliver Morebucks, young heiress Jennifer Grace Morebucks has since taken over his place as head chairwoman and CFO. Having been in this position for about 4 years now, Morebucks has brought the company into several disputes over acts of corporate greed, villainy, and subversion of ethical...anything, things that were mostly avoided by her lack of ownership in the company when she started her career in villainy. Morebucks has yet to recuperate from the low financial position and brand image the "Princess" has put them in, though Jennifer herself has ceased most villainous activity in recent times.
- Townsville City Hall - The Mayor of Townsville; The headquarters of Townsville's government is a dedication to triumph and might in the face of hardship. Here lies the Mayor's office, and the Mayor himself as he guides Townsville through times of despair, thanks in part to our terrific triplets that the Mayor dispatches to handle situations. It's because of this landmark that this fine city has stood tall and never backed down, even when a giant monster knocks it down.
-- Just today, the Mayor announced the undoing of his latest decree: that all pickle jars be made with paper lids. Buyers of pickles found their food to have been spoilt due to the poor standards of containment imposed by the Mayor.
TOWNSVILLE PARK; This local and public park is the perfect spot for peace and quiet, especially when the city life can be so overwhelming. Townsville hosts many of its local events and celebrations here, as even this peace would not dare be disturbed by villainy.
- Mojo's Volcano - Mojo Jojo; Before even the crime wave, Townsville has always seemed in danger, thanks to the massively slim volcano located near the Park. Nowadays the inactive volcano is under new management: The primate supervillain Mojo Jojo, who lives in his Observatory Lair planning and scheming his maniacal and destructive ideas for destroying the Powerpuff Girls and other villainous acts. However, the city of Townsville is lucky to see Mojo exercise an honor code when it comes to engaging our beloved metropolis, and how fortunate we are that it not occur to him.
-- Following an incident that occurred in 2009, many citizens of Townsville have speculated Mojo's connection to the sudden appearance of green gooey aliens that manifested from glowing plant-like eggs. Speculation also arose from the East Coast, with many citizens of New Jersey identifying the spores to be Gynok, a plant-based lifeform from Saturn that once invaded on a Thanksgiving Parade. However, multiple reports indicated that Gynok was capable of speech, and could mimic objects living and non-living, abilities that were not displayed by these spores, which instead spawned blobby creatures that terrorized various cities instead. Many are wondering what this has to do with Mojo, but have not been able to get a word in due to the primate's limited parole.
MARQUEE ROW - Gangreen Gang; This small but vibrant district holds a special place in the hearts of Townsville's greatest musicians. Currently the focus of the Gangreen Gang's album tour, Marquee Row's impressive auditorium famously held the debut performance of Sunny Bridges, the Atlanta-born jazz-rap musician that currently teaches at Atlanta's Westley School for the Arts; he has since gone down as a legend in contemporary music. It also was notable for holding one of the highest ticket-sales rates for concerts of the West Coast in 2005, thanks to a spectacular performance from J-Pop/Rock duo Puffy AmiYumi. Marquee Row is full of legacy and variety as it has quickly become the hot-spot for Townsville's musicians and many more.
-- The Gangreen Gang are set to perform in the Sunny Bridges Auditorium this July, where they are also set to reveal a new member of their band. Speculation has arisen as to who this member might be, and some rumors report that it's a female backup player. Some have denounced this as pandering, while others have embraced the band's sense of diversity. Others less trusting of the band wonder if this is a ploy to pull off a heist, given their criminal record.
- Harada-Bridges Records; The Harada-Bridges Record Company is a Townsville-based label founded through a joint partnership between former musician/performer Sunny Bridges and Kazuo Harada, former band manager and possible kleptomaniac. Harada-Bridges Records distributes music from many such talents as the TrendBenders, Pizza Party, the Gangreen Gang, Hair to the Throne, Scream-O, and Puffy AmiYumi among others; it even allows for one-time titles, such as "Love makes the World Go Round", or a rather catchy cover of "Surfin' Bird". It also sells redistributions and collections of older albums, including the famous 70s group Shag Carpeting, Fist Pump from the 80s, and smaller names like Mr. Universe.  Their building is furnished with a high-end recording studio, in which much of the music they distribute is recorded. Due to Bridges' teaching obligations, the company is partly run by JoJo Melodytour, former manager for the TrendBenders.
-- Famous rappers 'the CrewCrew' were recently excommunicated by the record company for their foul attitude and slanderous speech, and their apparent disrespect towards the memoriam services for Pops Maellard. They have since gone to social media to voice their frustration, only to lose several followers on all relative channels, Instagram in particular.
WILSON WAY;
- Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends; Venture into our quiet and socially vibrant suburban areas to get away from the action, and find a place where the community is tight, trustworthy, and lasts forever. For example? This grand estate that has been a staple of the community since the 1930s. Originally the grand mansion of eccentric heiress Martha Foster, her home has seen a repurposing like no other over the last 60 years. Founded in 1954, the mansion was reimagined as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, a place for runaway or outgrown imaginary friends to spend their time and look for new human friends. We in the Wilson Suburbs are proud to see such progressive community work continue for so long, and to maintain a lasting legacy across the country. Regardless of the nanite-related problems that have plagued the imaginary community, Foster's Home keeps its doors open to all real and unreal for refuge and safety.
POKEY OAKS SUBURBS (North & South) - Powerpuff Girls, Professor Utonium; Named after the county Townsville is located in, the Pokey Oaks suburbs are home to many of the denizens of the larger metropolis, appreciating the quieter life contrasting the busy city ahead. In the Northern suburbs, you will find Poakey Oaks' High School, the Morebucks Mansion, the precinct for Townsville PD, and the abandoned home of former supervillain Fuzzy Lumpkins. In the Southern suburbs, you will find the Utonium residence, home to the Powerpuff Girls, Poakey Oaks Kindergarten and Lower School, and the Pokey Oaks highway leading into the larger Townsville city.
-- Not to be confused with the Pokey Oaks county in Los Angeles, California.
HABITAT HOMES - N/A; A thriving suburban community defined for its rising anthro population, Habitat Homes is recognized as a place for...well, whatever it is normal districts do, because this area seems to be set on selling "we have anthropomorphic animals" as their only highlight, which is pretty exploitative. This suburb is home to the Charles Darwin Middle School, notable for having an overwhelmingly anthro-based student body.
BELLWOOD: - Ben 10; This is no ordinary city. Enter a world beaming with possibilities, wrapped up in one of the most popular cities on Earth. Located within Delmarva County and founded in 1638, the city of Bellwood started out as a small town notable as "the most ordinary town on Earth". That has been proven wrong many times over. Since Ben 10 started his super-heroic career at the ripe age of 10, Bellwood has seen a massive amount of attention for sightings of alien life and activity on Earth, and allowed this small town to grow and expand into a bustling city in the same leagues as sister cities Townsville and Siyenn.
- Bellwood Square; The heart of the city and the home to many of Bellwood's landmarks, such as Bellwood Zoo, City Park, a museum, a mall, Madison Elementary, even a Brain Bank!
- City Point; Whoever could forget this small district, host of the annual Summer fair for 20 years in a row, several of which have showcased the Dizzy World Circus hailing from Townsville. City Point also houses the largest amount of alien activity in the entire city, with many wondering how so many aliens appear in and out. But no matter that, City Point is hailed as a place for diversity and acceptance of all lifeforms, no matter how secret.
-- The Dizzy World Circus is set to open business in City Point this summer after a performance in Gateway City, Virginia; this will be the first time they have returned to Bellwood in ten years. However, brand image is being considered as a risk, due to the supervillain Zombozo welding his Ferris Wheel to the ground five years ago and making it near impossible to remove. Architects and engineers are still trying to determine how to bring the Wheel down, as the structure itself appears to be made of Promethium, one of the strongest and most durable metals on Earth.
OFFWORLD PLAZA - Grandpa Max; Seeing humanity's future in the stars, Offworld Plaza was setup in a partnership between Dexlabs, NASA, and Providence whilst being overseen by the Department of Metahuman Affairs and Abnormalities. Offworld Plaza is meant to be the world's first spaceport, with a Dexlabs-modified STS shuttle meant to be the world's first form of public space travel. The project has seen backing from several Bellwood residents, including Ben 10 himself and partners included, and several alien citizens amongst the population. This is being seen as the foremost attempt to fully engage Earth with the larger galactic community.
BELLWOOD SUBURBS/URBAN NEIGHBORHOODS;
- Madison Valley - Ben 10; This mostly quiet neighborhood is close to the Peach Creek community, and is notable for being the birthplace of Ben 10 himself. The neighborhood has received a lot of attention since his public debut last year.
-- Residents of this neighborhood continue to search for Gwen Tennyson, cousin of Ben 10 and former partner in crimefighting. Gwen had reportedly manifested something akin to alien powers, due to alien heritage in the family, and disappeared soon after a conflict involving the Ship-It Corporation and an invasive race of microchips. The search has been continuing for 4 months, and we send the Tennyson family our best wishes.
- Gallagher Commons/Sector V - KND; Home to Benedict Uno, this proud neighborhood prides itself of the progress brought about by its educational system, confident in the molding and shaping of young minds for the larger world. To that, Gallagher Commons also takes pride in its large park statue dedicated to the various superheroes of the world (though due to the lack of heroes in these suburbs, it has yet to be adorned with any holograms or statues). This monument, christened as "Hero's Square", has been the sight of attraction to many, though children seem displeased with the amount of attention it receives, but who cares about them, right?
- Bellwood Sheriff's Department received more reports of angry parents complaining about their kids' whereabouts after school; reports include children whispering secret codes and messages, sneaking out at night, raiding closets of random neighbors of varying ages, and mention of weapons storage in a treehouse. These reports have been dismissed as a case of kids being kids, and parents being parents. Though the mention of a treehouse caught their eye, as there are no reported treehouses in the entire Gallagher neighborhood.
- Peach Creek Estates - The Eds, Rolf, the Urban Rangers; Peach Creek Estates has been a foundation of the Bellwood suburbs for as long as it could remember, founded shortly after the city was built, Peach Creek retains its reputation as the most normal suburb in the entire country, even as the larger city stepped into the larger and more unexpected world. The center of our neighborhood lies in the Peach Creek Commons, a Cul-De-Sac with a loving community that never expect anything out of the ordinary.
-- The Bellwood educational board was happy and elated to give a $100,000 research grant to 16-year old Eddward Zimintator, affectionately known as "Double-D" by his neighbors and friends, for outstanding scientific papers on the applications of nanites towards the reduction of cancer cells, and the correlation between nuclear energy and dark matter. Dexlabs and Mandark Industries, tech companies from Siyenn City, helped pay for the grant, and Mr. Zimintator was excited to have received the honor as opposed to the money. Double-D expressed worry that the large sum of money would be taken advantage of by his friends.
- Bravo Beach City - (formerly) Steven Universe, the Crystal Gems; Bravo Beach City, rechristened after philanthropist and entrepreneur Bunny Bravo, has a history spanning 2 whole centuries, beginning in 1814 with Captain William Dewey founding the city. The city has been under the protection of an alien team dubbed the Crystal Gems, who protected this sub-city of Bellwood for over 200 years since they arrived on Earth. This town has seen alien invasions of lovecraftian/angelic varieties and universe-ending catastrophes unlike any other, and yet it pulled through without the presence of Ben 10. That's worth a look-(#KeepBeachCityWeird - Ronaldo F.)
- Grover Mill - The Amalgam Kids; [REDACTED]
ASTORIA GROUNDS - The Saturdays; Located on the edge of the Pacific Coast, Astoria Grounds was once home to reputable cryptozoologist Doctor Solomon Saturday and his family. After their mansion here was destroyed, the Saturdays maintained operations here by means of their blimp. Astoria has since seen a level of peace unheard of. We have great TV too, renowned for various movie production studios located right here, such as Sumo Slammers: Legends, Weird World (formerly), Tiny'Mon: The Live Adventure, and other great content!
BELLWOOD MOUNTAINS - Camp Kidney, Acorn Flats; Bordering the state of Oregon, the Bellwood Mountains offer citizens a fantastic night-sky view, and a lovely day for campers. The site was recently chosen as the new location for several Midwest-based Summer Camps, such as Camp Kidney and the Acorn Flats Scouts. Originally located in Northern Wisconsin, the Camps were relocated to the West after dangerous reports of robots and monsters were coming in from the nearby state of Illinois, as well as various surreal reports from the nearby city of Elmore. Amongst the Bellwood mountains are the Pimpleback Mountains, Mount Blackhead, and a forest noted for various amounts of exposure to unstable nanites; said site is also reported to be a major hotspot for cryptid activity. Be wary of entering this Twisted Forest.
SHARED LOCATIONS:
- CITY SQUARE (Currently under construction); As part of the Movement Ink Initiative, the Three Sister Cities of California are coming together under a united cause: to open new avenues of business and provide a safe and healthy environment for all. Meant to be the most technologically advanced area between all three cities. The Movement Ink Initiative will also see construction of a center studio to foster all creative and health-related activities.
OTHER LOCATIONS OF INTEREST: (INFORMATION TO BE UPDATED BY DHAWAR AIRLINES)
NOWHERE, LAS VEGAS - Agents Black and White; [REDACTED]
- Area [REDACTED]
PORKBELLY CITY, ALBERTA - Johnny Test; Alberta's least notable city, built upon the morally dubious legs of the meat-grinding industry, has seen a surprising rise in the extraordinary over the last five years, with various mutations and technologically influenced threats appearing over time. More often than not, a kid from our suburbs has to save the day, but it also happens to be his fault. For Porkbelly, things just seem to balance out.
-- Congratulations to local scientists Susan and Mary Test for getting jobs in the states with Dexlabs! We'll miss you while you're away very much! Just don't blow anyone up and don't cause a massive chemical accident!
SOUTHEAST UTAH - Rex, Providence; [REDACTED]
ORCHID BAY, SAN FRANCISCO - [SPOILER]; Arguably the second largest district of the city, this beach-side town is big enough to call itself a city on its own. Renowned for its beach city theme and harbor history, Orchid Bay has been a cultural diaspora, giving children a welcome touch of life from all areas and ethnicities. Admittedly, there have been supernatural occurrences here and there, but it's not like an ice castle is going to rise out of the water.
MARZIPAN CITY, VLATAVA- N/A; This small European city in the Romanian Province of Vlatava is well-known for being home to Mung Daal's Catering Company, one of the world's tastiest European cuisine menus. With their food and this city, you can never go wrong with your vacation.
-- Mung Daal has reportedly taken up a search for a potential apprentice. More details are to follow.
LANGLEY FALLS - CIA, Department of Metahuman Affairs and Abnormalities; [REDACTED]
If you've noticed any inaccuracies or liberties taken with these settings, then I apologize for the liberties taken to make all of this work. When I started my story, my aim was to tell the most grounded FusionFall story I possibly could, which meant that to realistically illustrate the various shows of CN in the same setting and together, I had to change various tiny details (such as the location of Camp Kidney) or massive details (such as moving Steven Universe from the East Coast to the West Coast). Really sorry about that. I wasn't intent on simply transposing the map from FusionFall, which would have simply been mashing all the locations together. Each show has its own unique setting, some of which are integral to the shows' aesthetic. I wanted to honor that as much as possible, and every major change made hurt to make, especially since it fits into the grander plan.
Now obviously, scenic descriptions aren't going to be much help, but since I can't really draw out a map of the CNU’s California here, I'd like to direct you to my associated Deviantart page: https://www.deviantart.com/noahvilgaxsane. I might be able to draw out the map and post it there.
If you've already clicked, you might notice that I've created a non-spoiler wallpaper for this wonderful project! Not just for FusionFall, but for the series I have planned as a whole.
Thank you all for letting me give you the layout of the Cartoon Network World so far, and I'll see you guys in Chapter 7, written on Fanfiction.net. Make sure to leave a review and follow the story if you’re interested!

Tales From Peter Parker: Foreign Exchange Student - The Grapes of a feather Part 1
"WHAT THE HELL AM I LOOKING AT!" A raised voice coming from Flint Marko alias the Sandman.
It's called 'anime' Marko, learn the damn culture sand for brains!" Herman Schultz alias The Shocker responded by scolding and ripping the anime case from Marko.
"So what like them cartoons in the U.S.?"
"Its so much more than that its a way of life for this country, I'm what the Japanese kids called a Weeabo!" Herman said with such a prideful tone.
"....... Da hell does that mean?"
"It means I'm a fan who enjoys the highest of quality animation." Shocker responded in a staunch stance.
"And those finer things include gauking at underage girls?"
"Don't cheapen it like that, thats a gross and misleading interpretation of the anime culture!" Herman felt insulted by Flints simplified observation of the genre.
"Plus I don't do Lolicons I'm attracted to the more firm and volumptious woman of great beauty like Oda's One Piece." Herman corrected while making vulgar hand gestures.
A short silence fell between the two, as Flint tries processing what his quilt attired allied has just uttered.
"Okay whatever youse say, The Vibrator lets get our videos and bail out already." Flint mockingly smiled as Shocker only responded by a gritted face of irritation.
At the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Center is a mall that specialize in selling various goods pertaining to a citizens body type and quirk type. But aside from selling speciality items for unique quirk users, the mall houses a variety in the entrainment medias as your standard "electronic store." Where we see now, one third of the Sinister Six members Sandman and Shocker wearing oversize tan trenchcoats in the middle of summer at the local video shop on, DVD purchases.
"Lets see we got "Godzilla 1945" for Beck, the original film, "The Ring" for Gargan, something on "the Japan's monorail system" for Toomes and nothing for Dmitri."
"Dmitri not so much a movie goer?
"Nah I just hate that Russian prick, OH HELL YEAH!" Hermans eyes popped with excitement as his sights met with his choice of DVD.
"The last copy of "Monster Museum" and its within my grasp!"
"Okay and what's, wait y'know what I do-"
Jumping away from the DVD, Herman immediately cutoff Flint to explain.
"It's a raunchy harem comedy about sexy monster girls trying to win the heart of the male protagonist tenant as he cleans up after there orgies and survives there cuddles of death." Herman with such graphic detail of the animes premise.
Many of the customers looked there way disturbed by the man in the yellow quilted suit unashamed manner and lack of censoring. The stares from customers embarrassed Flint heavily as he desperately wanted to use his powers to slink his head inside like a turtle away from prying predators. Instead all he could do was plant his face into his palms like a meme from the internet.
"What are you all looking at, scram you degen- Where's my Monster Harem?!" Cutting off his rant Herman sees a small boy with "grape hair?" making a quick dash as if his life depended on it.
"That little turd is stealing my monster harem, Flint circle around him will cut him off from the register!"
"Schultz its just a freaking cartoon!"
"Its not about the cartoon its the principal!"
"Principal of what?!" But Flints yell fell on death ears as the former linebacker sighed a heavy breath.
"Why do I even bother?" Flint thinks to himself.
Back to the boy with grape hair. Continuing to sprint with dear life as his mouth salivates he thinks to himself his almost clear.
"I'm almost at the register and than pure unadulterated smut will be mine to-"
His thoughts were interrupted as his head made collision with Flint Marko mid section sending the grape haired boy tumbling backwards in a daze. He tries to turn back only to have his chaser Herman Schultz, lifting the small teens hair by the palm of his left hand.
"Sup que ball, you have something of mine."
"Hey guy in the yellow, cushion suit?" A teen with spiky yellow hair calling out Herman confused by his clothes.
"Drop the perv he's a UA student and my best friend!"
"And if there's one thing I can't stand Kaminari its villains picking on my fellow classmates!" The red spiked hair schoolmates chimed in.
"Hey now were not looking for trouble-"
"But your little turd friend here was stealing fro- Where did he go and what the @$#% is this crap on my hand!"
Flayling his arms in panic, the sticky ball stuck to his hand would not budge as it simply jiggled from his thrashing.
"I wouldn't use your other hand if I were you unless you want to get stuck." Said Minetta with a smug tone.
"Get this crap off me!" Herman yelled at the boy.
"Oh I will, But only on one condition."
"Kid I swear if your trying to extort me I'm-"
"THATS RIGHT!! IF YOU WANT YOUR PRECIOUS HAND FREE YOU'LL FREELY ALLOW ME THE "Monster Museum" COPY!" Minetta demanded dropping his previous calm composure to that of a creature of lust.
"Dude sweet move!" Kaminari followed with a fist bump to Minnetta.
"Minetta don't you think thats a bit underhanded" Kirishima confessing his discomfort at this display of villainy.
"You little turd, we came all this way from the U.S. just to enjoy some peace." Herman walks closer to the boys.
"Than you steal from me, put this weird stuff on my hand and now you blackmail me!" The boys feel a bit a trembled as he inches in.
"Well I got one thing to say about that deal, Flint kick the crap out of these losers!
"WHAT!?" The UA perv duo said in unison.
"Pfft Hell no, I ain't gonna beat up some teens that made youse look bad."
"OH COME ON, these punks are asking for it especially that little bastard!" Herman points angrily at Minetta.
"And I told you my names Minetta if you want my sticky ball off, give m- GAHH!!" A blunt slap struck Minetta collapsing him to the floor.
The pink girls hand that struck his back head still burned from the strike.
"OW! What the Hell Mina!?
"You know what you did Minetta and as for you!" Her gaze met with Kirishima.
"I would expect Minetta and Kaminari of this, but you I thought you were better than this."
"I wanted to stop them Mina, but those two guys were bullying Minetta and-"
"And you thought bullying them for extortion was better?! Shame on you Kirishima!" Mina rubbed her fist into Kirishimas head.
"Its obvious what these guys are!"
"It is?" Herman and Flint said simoultanously as they both looked in the others direction nervously.
"The bright costume on that guy in oven mitts, the foreign accents, and that big guy in the green stripe shirt."
Hermans brow sweated intensely, his breathing erratic while Flint unable to sweat tries to inch backwards as slowly as possible.
"There Pro heroes!!" Mina proclaimed ecstatically.
"It all makes sense now, how could I be so stupid please forgive us sirs!" Said Kirishima as he bows repeatedly.
"Wait what-"
"Um yeah that's right! Were uh, undercover pro heroes is what my partner was trying to say, right Flint!" Said Herman as he tries to forcefully wink towards Flint.
Flint gives a simple shrug and a half hearted smile towards the school uniformed wearing students.
"That. Is. So. AWESOME!" The pink, horned girl exclaimed with an unyielding reserve of enthusiastic energy.
"Please let us introduce ourselves I'm Mina Ashido!"
"Eijro Kirishima!"
"Denki Kaminari!"
"And Minetta!"
"And were from Class 1A of UA High training to become Pro Heroes." Said Mina enthusiastically.
"PLUS ULTRA" The group said in unity as they poised dramatically.
A long awkward silence soon proceeded as Herman and Flint try grasping what they just witnessed.
"Umm... Okay well I'm Flint Marko and quilt man over here is Herman Schultz."
"How many times I gotta tell you Marko quit calling me Quilt man, besides (ex nay on our "hero" names)!" Herman whispering that last detail in secrecy.
"Look congrats on your whole training to be heroes but uh, Mineta right? I'm gonna need you to take this damn thing off now."
Mineta tries to look away but soon turns away as the steely gaze of Mina stares back.
"GAH! Okay fine! I'll take it off!" He begrudgingly agreed.
"So I gotta ask what are a couple of Secret pro heroes from the U.S. doing in Japan?" Kaminari questions.
"Well um, yeah see, we uhh..-"
"And why are you guys in a video store buying anime porn?" Kaminari's question continue to corner Flint.
With Shocker getting Mineta and Mina to help remove the sticky ball from his hand, Flint knew he had to dig deep to pull off an elaborate, B.S. lie that would make even Mysterio proud.
"Well ain't it obvious Pin Cushion, were staking out for any bad guy yahoos trying to uh.... rob this place so we was just trying to blend in and be all "conspicuous"
that answer your twenty questions?"
"My name is not the damn Pin Cushion! Its Kaminari you ignorant tourist!"
"Why does this kid make me want backhand him like Electro." Flint said to himself as he struggles to keep calm.
"Kaminari! You shame pro heroes every where with that disrepectable talk! Kirishima scolded.
The blonde haired boy was shaken by his classmates scornful tone, a feet he thought only the explosive Bakugou was capable of.
"Forgive my friends jerk behavior sir but if your looking for recommendations-"
"Stow it half pint, Hermans the one who's into the anima or cartoons stuff I'm looking for something with a little bit more teeth, present company excluded of course."
"My names not half pint its, Kirishima" the young man protested more annoyed by the nickname than the teeth remark.
"I got the anime that's right for you, its Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3 and I bet my entire code of manliness to convince you!"
"Manliness?"
"It's Kirishimas whole mantra of machismo don't encourage it." Kaminari explained.
"Who asked you Sparky! And as to you Kiri-shama was it, any man that puts there code on the line has my attention."
Flint held his fist high towards Kirishima.
Knowing the gesture well, Kirishima moved his arm in response to fist bump Flint in dramatic fashion.
"Did I hear explosions, Flint said to himself."
And Flint would be right for unbeknownst to the group, several armed men garbed in sophisticated helmets and harnesses storm the video shop entrance in a threatening like manner of ill intent!
TO BE CONTINUED!

Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular REVIEW:
Hello there, everybody. My name is JoyofCrimeArt and Halloween is right around the corner. Enjoy it while you can because the minute Halloween is over you know that big business and mass media are going to start bombarding us with Christmas music and advertisements twenty four seven, (assuming they even wait that long.) But regardless of that THIS time of year is celebrated with candy, pumpkin spiced everything, and of course Halloween specials. You got your Charlie Brown's and your Over the Garden Wall's and such, but if you ever watched Cartoon Network during the month of October during the early to mid two thousands their is one special you must of at least glimpsed at least once. That special is Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular!.......Ah, I see what you did there, it's a pun on... yeah, well played special.
Tumblr media
In case you don't know Scary Godmother is an animated CGI Halloween TV special created by Rainmaker Entertainment in 2004. It is based on the children's book and comic series of the same name created by Jill Thompson. This special was a staple of Halloween on Cartoon network for many years and even got a sequel entitled "Scary Godmother: Jimmy's Revenge" the following year. Now is this special any good. Ehhh-Ye-No....Sorta? Let's talk about it.  The first thing you'll notice about this film is it's animation. It's...not the best looking by today's standards for sure. CGI from this era is definitely dated by this point, but it's hard to blame the special for it's animation given that it was only 2004. Plus the special does offer up it's own sort of style in many respects. The character designs on the humans aren't very good, as a lot of the time they do just looked like pallet swapped versions of the same model, but the designs of the actual monsters later in the special are really creative looking, just like in the books. Plus they do this neat thing where a lot of the backgrounds will be hand drawn illustrations and certain props will have a cool "pop-up book" element to them. So yeah, the animation is pretty dated, but I'm glad that they did something to make it have it's own unique look. So I can forgive it for the most part.  The special opens up on Halloween night as we see three kids, Daryl, Bert, and Katie dressed in Halloween garb outside of the haunted "Spookhouse." Katie is dressed up as a cat, which is sensible enough, but Daryl is dressed up as a piece of candy, Bert is a baseball driver in his SUV. It's dumb and cheesy but in a charming and kinda amusing kind of way. Anyway, then we Jimmy appear on top on a tombstone dressed in his devil pajamas, but he is quickly knocked off of the stone be the light from a flashlight held by his younger cousin, Hannah, our main protagonist for the story.  Now here is where things start to get a bit odd. Jimmy asks why Hannah is flashing the flashlight around, and then the three other kids jump in calling for a "flashback." Now some fourth wall humor isn't the weird thing, but what's weird is the fact that we don't actually get any real "flashback." instead we get a scene of the characters reenacting a scene where Hannah's parents give Hannah the flashlight with Daryl and Katie playing the part of Hannah's parents. But the thing is, 1.) Jimmy and Hannah clearly came to the Spookhouse separately from the other three kids because they show up afterwards, so there's no way that Katie and Daryl could of known the specifics of how Hannah got the flashlight. 2.) Jimmy was in the flashback, picking Hannah up before going trick-or-treating! So how was he confused by Hannah's flashlight? He saw Hannah's parents give the flashlight to Hannah! I mean I suppose he might not have been paying much attention to what Hannah was doing since Jimmy wasn't in the exact shot where Hannah's Dad (played by Daryl.) gave Hannah the flashlight, but still! Also then there's like this wipe, where Hannah comments that that was close to how it all went down. With, Bert even being annoyed he didn't have a role in the flashback, so I'm not even sure if that scene even happened at all! It's hard to explain but it's a really bizarre scene. Point is, Hannah's dad gave Hannah the flashlight, saying that light from a flashlight could scare away monsters.  Anyway, while Hannah is off flashing her flashlight around Jimmy talks to his friends. Jimmy comes with the idea to trick Hannah into enetering the old Spookhouse. That way Hannah would run home scared and they could trick-or-treat without her, since there "big kids" and she isn't. The other three are against it at first but end up being tempted into evil by the silly devil hoodie clad little boy. So they tell Hannah that there is a monster in the Spookhouse, and every Halloween the new kid must go inside and give the monster a piece of candy or else the monster will come out and eat every kid in the world. So Hannah goes into the house, and is tricked into thinking the house is full of monster due to Jimmy's amazing work at creating hand shadows.
Tumblr media
I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE OR HOW GOOD YOU ARE, HANDS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!  Anyway the big kids run outside the house leaving Hannah in, holding down the door knob so she can't run away. Even though the whole plan was to make her run away. They just want to traumatized the kid a little more. Y'know, for the lol's and such. Anyway Hannah starts crying until suddenly her Scary Godmother appears! Hannah is at first to sad to even notice this, but eventually Scary Godmother is able to get her attention. Now you may be wondering what is a Scary Godmother, and the answer to that is obvious! It's..um...I guess there like Fairy Godparent's but...spoopier? Or something? I dunno, it's not really touched upon much. All that matter's is that Scary Godmother is going to kidnap-I mean-invites Hannah to her home on the "Fright Side" for her Halloween party, so she can introduce Hannah to all of her monster friends in order to help her get over her fear of monsters.  We get this weird scene where Scary Godmother has Hannah get on her broom and they fly up the chimney and into the sky to get to the Fright Side. They fly through this weird cloud monsters mouth and then end up there, but what I don't get is if Hannah flew up the chimney how come none of the big kids saw her? Also later in the film they don't seem to need to fly back in order to get back into the Spookhouse. I figured that the Fright Side was tied to the Spookhouse but they seem to be flying away from the house in order to get there. WHAT ARE THE RULES HERE! NO, YOU'RE OVER THINKING THIS!  Anywho they end up in Scary Godmother's house located on in the Fright Side. I like the design of the house, it oozes Halloween and the pop up book aesthetic really shines here. Scary Godmother begins introducing Hannah to all of her friends. Starting with her "Broommate." (Yeah, I hope you like puns, cause you're going to be getting a lot before this 44 minute film is over.) Mr. Pettibones, a Skeleton who lives in peoples closets. Much like Pearl from Steven Universe his main personality trait...is being really gay. *OH MY GOD, IT WAS A JOKE, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME STEVEN UNIVERSE FANS* I swear as a kid I never got the joke that he was suppose to be a skeleton "in the closet." but it's actually kinda clever looking back on it now. And all joking aside he's not a bad character. He does act as the sassy gay best friend to Scary Godmother but he is a funny character who has a role in the story. He's the one setting up most of the party. Mr. Pettibones also explains more to Hannah that not all monsters are bad.  We then cut back to Deryl, Bert, Katie and Jimmy waiting outside of the house waiting for Hannah to come out screaming, annoyed that it's taking so long and-OMG WHAT THE HECK!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get a Black Hannah and what I think is just a literal clone of Katie, except she's in a bee costume. Who cares about this story, I want to know about the secret underground cloning lab that exists in this town! Anyway as I said the big kids are waiting for Hannah and Daryl and Katie are trading candy, because they decided to trick-or-treat a little before meeting up with the rest of the gang. Katie offers Deryl a piece of candy for "three kisses." And they go in to kiss before Bert interrupts them. I wonder where this romantic subplot will lead........  (It leads nowhere.)  Back on the Fright Side it's time for Hannah to meet another one of Scary Godmother's monster friends. This time a werewolf (or is it wolf man?) named Harry. Harry is...pretty much the worse. He's dumb, arrogant, rude, and overall self absorbed, with food being the main thing on his mind as he mooches off all of his friends. And I'm not saying this as an insult to the film, because the film acknowledges it! Nobody in the film likes this guy! And to be fair he's not too annoying to the audience, as he seems far more annoying to the characters in the film, but still. It's weird why they even bother inviting this guy. Even when Harry isn't doing something wrong everyone at the party seems to have disdain for him, which in some ways makes me actually feel bad for him. But then he does something else selfish or annoying to make me feel less sympathy towards him, which I guess is good since the film isn't trying to make him sympathetic I guess? You'll see more as I go forward with the review, but yeah. Harry is THAT guy. The guy we all know, the friend that we don't like but we just got to put up with.  Harry goes up to Hannah thinking that she is an actress in his favorite "Skelevision" show. (Ha Ha! The puns have returned!) I wonder where this subplot of Harry thinking Hannah is an actress will lead........  (It leads nowhere.)  Though I do appreciate the film diverting from the cliche "Vampires vs Werewolves" rivalry, instead opting for a "Skeletons vs Werewolves" rivalry, which makes a lot more sense when you think about it. Though this rivalry probably has less with race and more with everyone hating Harry.  So after that it's time for the next guest to arrive. We get the vampiric couple of Count Max, Ruby, and their son Orson. Wait a minute....Max....Ruby....
Tumblr media
MY GOD!  Scary Godmother invites the vampires in. (Because vampires can't enter a house uninvited.) and Hannah starts befriending Orson. It's a really cute scene and makes some great use of a rotating camera angles. Orson is also really fun with his awkward childishness contrasting the fact that he is a vampire. Hannah and Orson's friendship just feels like a genuine friendship in the way kids there age becomes friend. (Also it's a better love story then Twilight, am I right? Yuk Yuk Yuk?)  Oh and there's also a pointless chase scene...moving on.  Also throughout the film Harry keeps becoming incapacitated. First he get's peanut butter stuck to the roof of his mouth making him unable to talk earlier in the special, and then he get's hypnotized into a trance by Count Max.  We then get our next guest, the monster named Bug-A-Boo. A giant multi-eyed fanged monster. I love his design due to it's uniqueness and while he's not actually scary looking to the audience, if you where to imagine this thing being in the real world it would be terrifying. And Hannah agrees with me as Bug-A-Boo is the monster that causes her to finally freak out. And can you blame her. One of his teeth is the SIZE OF HANNAH!
Tumblr media
Also there's a genuinely funny bit with Hannah screaming, then Scary Godmother telling her to breath. She breaths and then starts screaming again. Good stuff.  Anyway another chase scene begins and Hannah tries to shine the flashlight on Bug-A-Boo. Only to find out it doesn't have any effect. Scary Godmother lies to Hannah telling her that flashlights only work on monsters who live in the closet, not under the bed. Hannah says she wants Bug-A-Boo to leave and he begins to comply. This is when she see's that looks don't matter, and that Bug-A-Boo is actually nice. Though is he that nice? We learn that his job is to scare children by hiding under there beds, which is pretty much the same thing that the big kids do to Hannah, and their treated as the villains. Also do you think whatever company Bug-A-Boo works for is a rival company with Monsters Inc?  With all of the guest arrived the monsters and Hannah begin their Halloween party. We cut back to the big kids and theirs a bizarrely funny bit with a Bert saying that his "Door is ajar." there's no logical reason I find it funny, but I do. Also that cut to the big kids lasted exactly 19 and a half seconds and only exists to do the "Door is ajar" bit. WORTH IT! Then we get a very brief dance sequence with the monsters and then cut BACK to the big kids. Because...why not? The night is ending and the big kids have, for all intensive purposes ended. Katie wants to go an rescue Hannah but Jimmy is insistent on waiting for her to come out of the house on her own.  Jimmy you're plan isn't very good! You have your little cousin run into an old abandoned house that has a frickin' GRAVE YARD it it's front yard, and then spend like, hours, waiting for her to run out. Why not just go in there and see if she's scared? If she is she'll probably agree to have you take her home. I means she's must of been there for a while since all of the houses are turning there lights off, so if she wasn't scared before what would make you think that she's be scared now. What do you think she's been doing this whole time?! You wasted your whole Halloween on faulty logic! If you wanted to get more Trick-or-Treating done you should of just cut your loses and given up long before now! But no, you still hold on to this plan. What is she was attacked by a murderous clown or something!? Who knows what kind of non supernatural threats could be inside this creepy old house. Jimmy you are so stupid!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgxYUxqcg1Q
Ugh! So anyway Jimmy says that they should continue with his idiotic plan because he's the leader, and all of the big kids get into an argument on who the leader is. There's a bit decide to do a vote on who should be leader and they each get one vote each. Bert and Jimmy vote for themselves and Katie and Daryl vote for each other. (Which is a cute moment and the one of the only bits of continuation for their "romantic subplot.") Then if that wasn't pointless enough we get a scene of Bert demanding recounts and Daryl recounting the votes. Granted the scene is kinda funny, but I would be lying if I said it wasn't pointless.  Back in the Fright Side we get more interactions between our colorful cast of characters, and we get to see a bit more of Hannah and Orson and also some interactions with Max and Ruby. We get to see Max is sort of introverted and behind the times. He wants to be, in his own words, "groovy." I like Count Max a lot because of this and most lines from him get a pretty good laugh out of me. He's kinda like a less silly version Count Dracula from the Hotel Transylvania series. Again, it's good stuff.  So then it turned out that Harry, the Scumbag Steve of the monster world, has eaten all of the buffet. (Though in Harry's defense, before this scene none of the other monsters where letting him eat any of the buffet, which does seem a bit unfair. It further goes to show how odd it is that they even invited him if he wasn't even allowed to partake.) So now that there's no food left And thus Bug-A-Boo suggests that they should order pizza. And thus we begin the pizza sub plot! I call it the sub plot because the whole pizza scene takes up a total of four minutes (not counting the cut back to the big kids that occurs in the middle of said subplot.) and contributes almost nothing to the story! I know that four minutes does not sound like much, and it really isn't, but consider the fact that the special is only 44 minutes long. So that's an eleventh of your whole story! Keep that in mind.    So we then get a scene where we learn that Bug-A-Boo and Hannah both like pizza with extra cheese and olives on it. Further cementing that fact that Bug-A-Boo is nice and doesn't eat little girls. Proving that no matter how different people look or act we can all bond over are love for pizza. World peace is truly a possibility here folks.  So they have Harry order the pizza's because they clearly haven't learned there lesson by this point and he ordered twelve pizza's, and Scary Godmother doesn't have enough money to pay for it. There's a funny bit where the pizza delivery boy offers to give them the pizza's on the house is Scary Godmother gives him her soul, but she declines. Scary Godmother, Mr. Pettibones, and Hannah try to get some money by taking all the money that got stuck to Bug-A-Boo from being under the beds all day. Hooray for stealing money from your friends! (Which he accidentally stole from children!) Also the pizza's are said to cost about 200 dollars, and Hannah even mentions finding a 50 dollar bill. I know Bug-A-Boo goes under a lot of kids beds but how many kids who are young enough to be scared of monsters under the bed really have that much money under there beds. Even I've never seen a fifty dollar bill before, and I'm way older then those kids would be!  So then Scary Godmother chastises Harry for buying to many pizza's, telling him that he's going to make it up to her by working for her until he makes up the money. This is actually a major plot point in the second special, if you can believe that. Also Harry doesn't get any of the pizza. Poor Harry. If only he wasn't so darn awful I wouldn't feel so conflicted in feeling bad for him!  There's also a funny joke where Count Max recalls an old conversation he had. "-But other then that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the show!" It's funny because her husband was shot right in front of her...oh, now I've bummed myself out.  Then Hannah tells the monsters why she's here, and gives Bug-A-Boo a piece of candy in exchange for not eating everyone in the world and that's when the monsters tell Hannah that she had been lied to by Jimmy. We also learn that Jimmy is one of the kids on Bug-A-Boo's route and that even big kids get scared. Then Scary Godmother comes up with a plan to get back at Jimmy. It's time to go Toy Story on those fools.  Outside the Spookhouse the big kids finally decide to enter the house, even though by now they seem scared to enter it themselves, which would make a logical reason why they didn't go in to get Hannah by now, except they where in the Spookhouse earlier in the film when Jimmy was making his magical shadow puppets. They walk inside and see Orson, thinking he's just a kid in a costume. Orson get's mad that they don't think that he's a vampire and called out his parents form the closet, as Count Max and Ruby say that there going to eat the big kids. They run in fear from the actual vampires and end up coming across all the other monsters all threatening to eat the kids. Harry ends up actually trying to eat Daryl thinking that he's a actual piece of candy. So that's one potential human casualty that could of occurred as part of this plan. They then find Hannah and Hannah uses her flashlight to "defeat" the monsters, as every time she points the flashlight at one of the monsters they pretend to die. Scary Godmother even frickin' melts. The big kids end up running out of the house scared and Scary Godmother gives Hannah a magic key, telling her that if she ever wants to return to the Fright Side she can, and all that she would have to do is use that key on any door. Jimmy asks if Hannah wants to hold his hand for "her protection" and she agrees. The special ends on the valuable moral that "Revenge is great!"  So in conclusion, is Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular any good, and is it worth watching? Ehhhhhh, I think it depends on who you are. This special, from a technical standpoint, isn't that great. There are a ton of flaws with it. The animation is dated, the special is overall pretty plotless, there is a ton of filler, and some of the choices made by the characters don't make to much sense. So if you want a special that is better on a more technical level, one with better story, animation, ect. then this special probably won't be your cup of cider. But if you have nostalgia for the special, or if you don't mind some cheesiness and just want a fun but kinda dumb special that will put you in the Halloween mood, you might end up enjoying it. I had more fun watching this special for this review then I expecting to be honest with you. So maybe consider checking it out sometime.  What do you think of Scary Godmother? What do you think of the sequel (which I hope to review next Halloween, from what I remember it's one of the few sequels that is better than the first one, though that not that difficult considering this special.) Leave your thoughts in the comments down bellow, I love to hear what you guys think. Any suggestions for things I should review. Suggest them down bellow and maybe I'll do em' if I find them interesting enough. Please fav, follow, and comment if you like my review and have a great day and Happy Halloween!  ...Oh, and did you know that Scary Godmother is played by Rarity from MLP:FIM? And Hannah is Princess Cadance? It's weird. (I do not own any of the images or videos in this review all credit goes to there original owners.)

Moonvale's Pokemon Commentary: #52 Meowth
Tumblr media
Meowth, that’s right!
Just for Looks:
First off let me explain the elements of original Meowth's design. The coin. It always being drawn with at least one paw like ":3c". It's because Meowth's based off the legend of the lucky or beckoning cat Maneki Neko. One legend I've read of this cat symbol is that a Lord was out in a rainstorm and saw a cat beckoning him to come closer. The man approached the cat and lightning struck right where the Lord had previously been standing. The cat saved his life.
I've read another where a starving, homeless cat was taken in by the impoverished owner of a small business. Because of his generosity despite his own situation, the cat would sit in front of his shop and beckon customers and saved the man's business. That's why statues of Maneki Neko are seen outside businesses. They're said to bring good luck for these reasons!
Now then, onto the pokemon commentary. Original Meowth is a very cute cartoon cat. They've got a very nice yellow-cream colored coat, and black fur on the front side of their ears. The tips of their back paws and curled tail are a warm light brown. These colors are nice, but I like the shiny version's lovely more brownish cream body fur. Though I prefer the dark brown tips of regular Meowth as shiny Meowth's tip colors are like an odd red brown that doesn't really look great to me. But that's the sprites. Once again, the 3D models do a great job of screwing up the colors. Regular Meowth is now super white-cream and its tail is a dull washed out brown. The shiny basically looks the same as the 3D normal form but you're looking at it through those slightly brown tinted sunglasses... though they would be very poorly tinted sunglasses since the change isn't that drastic.
Pokemon Sun and Moon introduced Regional Variants and Meowth's line was one of the lucky few to get one! Alolan Meowth were bred by royalty for specific looks and features and that pampering turned our little scratch cat into a smug little dark type. While its coin stays the same shade of gold, its fur is now a cool, ashy grey. The tips of its tail and back paws are now white. It's just as inoffensive aesthetically as its more common variant. I just love that little baby's smug face. And it's shiny. Oh my goodness its shiny is BEAUTIFUL. It's main coat is a dark blue grey that almost takes the grey out completely. Instead of being a darker blue white, it's back paws and tail tip are an ever so slightly darker reddish shade of the body color. So it looks almost purple and I really like that.
What's in the Name:
Meowth's name is basically Meow + th. Bulbapedia says it could be from wealth, but I say it's just because the Japanese name is Nya (the Japanese version of 'meow') + th. Though Bulbapedia says it also comes from mixing that nya with the Japanese pronunciation of Siam (a leader of Thailand) creating the sound Myasu. Plus there's the fact Siamese is a cat breed. Like Persian. I guess that works?
The 'Dex Says:
The Standard Meowth are described as nocturnal, being most active at night. It retracts its claws to move without making as much noise as it walks. It likes round things. Y'know. Cat stuff. They love shiny things, especially coins. They'll hunt for lost change in cities at night, and are known to fight with Murkrow over the shiny spoils of their treasure hunts. In Alola this is apparently a common sight at Junkyards during the night. Though the fact that standard Meowth are the opposite of standard in Alola I have to wonder about that entry. The Ultra Moon entry also says you can easily befriend them by giving them coins, but since they're fickle you can't really count on that friendship lasting. Hey, I got a bird for you dude. Right here on my hand. Cats are loving creatures and I bet cat pokemon are no different.
Even Alolan Meowth were not native to the island originally. A Royal house in the past brought their ancestors to the islands. Over time and after being pampered and spoiled, "human actions" (probably breeding) caused their population to boom to the point a lot of them went feral and this is probably around when the dark typing came about. They are very prideful and crafty creatures, and they will fly into a hysterical rage if that pride is wounded (or if its coin is dirtied). It's described as impulsive, selfish, and fickle. Man some kid in Alola really hates cats don't they? The breed is apparently known to be hard to handle, and for some reason that makes them popular apparently. I'd argue that both of these things have to do with the fact their were spoiled rotten by nobility and royalty and the fact they were once royal pokemon probably makes them seem like a status symbol.
It's Rating Time!
Tumblr media
5/5. I shamelessly love cats you guys. I have like 50+ toy cats I've had over my entire life. Meowth is no exception to my cat love. I have a cute Meowth plush I got as a kid, and it now has an Alolan Meowth plush friend.
But Wait, There's More:
Did you know Meowth was planned to have a Baby Stage, like many gen 1 pokemon?
Tumblr media
Look at this cute little baby. Look at it and weep for what was lost. Its name was Konya. Baby Meow. Weep for Baby Meow. I need 200 of them right now.
It was gonna have a Japanese coin with the hole in it on its head! Those floating ones are likely not floating over its head and were likely just testing various sprite shapes for the coin since they're not present in the back sprite for this or in the original alphas for Red/Green. You heard me right. Its back sprite was found in early prototype data (search for "Konya" to see it on that page). Though its design was different from its Gold/Silver iteration later on. It’s only from the back, but the ears are tipped with black, instead of a curly nub the tail is simply a straightened version of meowth’s, and it’s standing instead of laying on its belly. It’s too bad we never saw its face!
I also want to make you all look at this image of Nanu's house in the anime.
Tumblr media
My favorite is the one with her back to us. Meowth are cutest when they sit like normal cats and not stand like Team Rocket’s Meowth has made standard.
Nanu is a beautiful human being and I would be his crazy cat lady wife and help him take care of all his Meowth children.

Okay I'm pretty sure I swore off discourse when I started planet-bryyo but hey, it's Christmas!
With regards to the Samus-out-of-her-suit discussion, it seems to be a pretty subjective matter. I keep trying to put my opinions into words, and I think I've narrowed down the issues I have. So this is JUST my personal take on the entire thing: what I like from Samus, what I think works well and doesn't work well. Feel free to disagree and even drop a comment in the replies, I'm open to a change of opinion!
Tumblr media
(FYI I stole all my images off Wikitroid to break up the text)
Seeing Samus outside her suit is a neat reward. In the original Metroid, it lead to the very significant reveal that Samus was a girl. A lot of games tease the woman-behind-the-suit with stuff like reflections in her visor, or a view of her eyes and expression during a cutscene, so the game culminating with her completely out of her suit can be very rewarding and awesome if done well.
While I have a bit of a preference for stuff like badass suit shots or Fusion's lore endings (which I think were Japanese exclusive so I've only ever see them via the wiki) it can be really fun to see Samus just chilling in her spare time. Zero Mission does this pretty well; she dons regular outfits, goes back to civilisation, and does normal stuff like drink at bars. It's nice to see her get some down time, and hint at what her life is like beyond her missions.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, blatant this-scene-only-exists-to-show-off-her-boobs scenes aren’t my thing. Y'know, I’m willing to say a bit of sexiness probably doesn't do much harm. I'd argue that some of the scenes we see in the likes of Zero Mission and Fusion endings (like the above) are acceptably, as youtuber ShayMay puts it, "sexy not sexualised" and detract far less, if anything, from Samus' portrayal. Samus is pretty without it being obnoxiously sexualized. And hey, we're all human, loads of us like a bit of boob. They aren't of much interest to me but plenty of people love 'em. In Metroid, though, it just feels a bit excessive and unnecessary at times, and I think it can impact how Samus and certain scenes come across.
The zero suit segment of Metroid: Zero Mission was a really interesting part of the game, with that stealth mission being challenging and fun to play. That's just about the only thing I ever liked regarding the zero suit, because almost every other instance of its appearance (including cutscenes in Zero Mission itself) is used to scream "HEY LOOK GUYS, SEXY BUTT." Personally, I just don't think those shots mesh well with what Samus is generally portrayed like. There's better ways to go about showing her suitless, like the variety of civilian outfits she's been presented in, or even simply taking off the helmet as in Prime. She can look very beautiful in these shots, without it looking blatantly sexualised and a bit ridiculous. Compare the above bar scene to this thing which always really bugged me because it's literally just butt and sideboob and the way it's posed looks really weird.
I find it a bit jarring when we go from the imposing figure of the power suit to the zero suit, which tends to be used to scream boob and not much else. For the most part, suited Samus carries this gravitas that makes her very impactful as a character. Unfortunately, that gravitas pretty much instantly evaporates when she's put in a blatantly sexy shot on screen, no matter what she's saying or doing. Note that there IS a difference between "blatantly sexy shot" and "shot where Samus is not in her suit" and the latter would be no issue. We see that in the likes of Other M's ending, where she's in civilian clothing and can look nice without the camera lingering on her rear end too long and killing the impact. I have my issues with how Other M did things, but at least IIRC it didn't derail that ending moment with Anthony by making it weirdly sexy, unlike a few other parts of the game which I'll come to in a bit.
I don't think sexiness is automatically bad- see Bayonetta for what I guess is an example of sexiness done in a good, not-disempowering or disrespectful way? I guess? I haven't played those games. But sexiness in Metroid is put in places where it feels out of place. Zero Mission and Other M are bad offenders; the latter two Primes only have like one scene of it, so it's odd but can be more easily passed over if you aren't into the uncanny valley robot tiddy look from Prime 2 that haunts me to this day.
Tumblr media
Hunters did the out-of-suit thing quite nicely too. Hunters stands as evidence that even the zero suit doesn't have to be inherently bad (though let's be real, it was designed for tiddy and it will probably be used for tiddy until the end of its days). Hunters was actually my intro to the franchise and the first time I personally saw the face of Samus Aran. If you beat Hunters before developing carpal tunnel syndrome, and if you access the hidden ending by fulfilling the Alimbic prophecy, the monster Gorea is destroyed in its final form and the Alimbic spirits telepathically contact Samus to thank her for what she has done. There's a lack of obnoxious proportions or questionable camera angles, so the scene comes across as meaningful as it's supposed to.
Prime did well in combining the thrill of "IT'S HER, IT'S THE PROTAGONISTS FACE" with the badassery of suited Samus, giving the scene quite a good impact. People remember that scene with fondness. It's a shame that so few scenes with non-suited Samus have managed to capture the same thing- like, imagine Samus standing on a hill in a long coat or some other awesome piece of apparel, gazing over a futuristic city like a watchful guardian. That would be sweet.
I personally liked the more realistic look they went for in Prime, despite technical limitations on the face model; it suited the tone of the game and the personality of Samus better than the weird anime kinda thing in Prime 3. You can get away with that look in the 2D games where everything has that art style, but all the other humans in Prime 3 were more realistic so it just looked out of place (we don't talk about Echoes...) but that's verging on a different issue entirely.
Tumblr media
Zero Mission is one of my favourite games, possibly my favourite 2D game on par with Samus Returns at the minute. It did really well in a lot of stuff, but it also has a degree of booty with bad timing. The moment after Samus crashes and is left with nothing should be a fairly serious one- the situation is bleak, the task up ahead is daunting. The only hope you have is Samus' confidence and skill- and your skill as a player, which, if you're anything like me, you're starting to question in a moment of utter oh shit. This is also one of the few moments where Samus actually has some dialogue, which is all pretty straightforward with a hint of her good humour and personality.
That entire scene is framed over a very blatant butt shot. Maybe it's just me and I ought to care less, but I find it a bit harder to take the scene seriously because of it. Sexiness isn't inherently bad, there's a time and place for it, but is this serious scene really the time and place? I'm not even gonna pull up big words like objectification and such, I don't really know enough to say about those things, I just think it looks really silly there. If it needs to be included, couldn't it stay as the under-five-hours reward as per usual?
I could just be really bitter about that one, though.
Tumblr media
Buff Samus is another related issue. I've seen loads of people saying "Samus looks good as she is!" and there's nothing wrong with that. I just thought I'd try and justify my own reasons for being a bit let down with Samus' current out-of-suit design. It's not so much the design in itself, nor the fact that she's not what the fandom fantasizes her being like. It's more related to the design's history and trends of change.
Personally, I'm just a little bitter that they felt the need to change Samus from the design they gave her in Super, because of WHY they changed it. In Super Metroids manual- and visibly in-game- Samus is toned and tall. These days, the media is gracing us with more tall and buff lady characters (Zarya from Overwatch, Brienne of Tarth from GOT, etc.) but when I was a kid I don't think I could name a single muscular lady outside of joke cartoon characters. Maybe sportswomen, but even then I can't think of any popular ones whose names I haven't learned in just the last few years. Doesn't mean there weren't any, just that I never came across any widespread ones, and I'm inclined to believe there weren't many around in popular media. Which made a taller, buffer Samus a little bit more of a revolutionary concept, important for the sake of seeing varied body types and such. It's important for people with those body types as much as it is for everyone else SEEING people with those body types and lifestyles.
Basically, as far as I can tell, Nintendo decided that "sex sells" and their major lady protag wasn't good enough without the sex appeal that comes with being skinny and shapely. They decided buff wasn't attractive, so they had to do things like cut her height down, slim her waist, bring out her chest, and make her ass stick out half the width of Zebes. Everything she was allowed to be before was stripped away and swapped out for your standard sexy woman's frame so people could titillate over her.
This only increased over time. Going from Zero Mission to Other M and the Smash Bros franchise, you can see this increasing trend of Samus getting promoted in-game and in pre-release material as sexier, up to Smash Bros 4 where so many Zero Suit promotional screenshots had her bent around like the token sexygirl in a forgettable Hollywood movie poster, posed for good view of her assets, or even put in freaking bunny ears which have their own set of connotations. Then there's the whole heels debate, which I'm not even gonna get into.
Tumblr media
Her boobs are orbs.
If I'll say one positive- Samus Returns didn't do badly. Actually, big kudos to Samus Returns. All of its ending poses were all nods to other stuff for fans to recognise and they took time to make three different out-of-suit Samus outfits. Samus genuinely looks pretty cool in each of them. I really dig it!
I think some people in the fandom have the misconception that me- and others who share my opinion- don't like the idea of sexy women, or feminine women, being badass heroines. And that's simply not the case. People bring up Bayonetta as an example of "you can have sexy/pretty heroines" and while I can't really say a lot about her, as far as I can tell, her game really works well with it and is designed around her having the appearance and personality she has. Metroid is designed around a different sort of protagonist, in a different sort of atmosphere, and the sexualisation is kind of jarringly different from the surrounding material.
If Samus had always been a shortish, big-breasted woman with a strong personality and whose ass and boobs were never/scarcely highlighted in a sexy way, indicating that they exist just because she is a shapely person rather than because people won't survive the game without a boner, that would be sweet. In fact, I could really get behind that because I'm short as hell myself. It's secretly every short person's dream to have a cyborg suit which makes you tall enough to reach the top shelves and fight off everyone you're otherwise too small and weak to handle.
(Had Samus always been a sexy Bayonetta-esque character, I think the franchise would be very different in general. If that was part of the design, it would’ve worked, I guess.)
It's not Samus' size, shape, and proportions in themselves that have the effect of changing the scenes and character portrayal; it's the blatant fanservice and the way they're framing of these features to obviously have a very sexual appeal, and to me that doesn't sit well alongside the rest. When serious scenes are played over what looks like a SFW alt version of a porn pic you glance over while scrolling down the Metroid tag, it’s hard to see any of the impact that Samus had one scene earlier in her power suit. (Okay, I'm exaggerating a little for effect, but the point still stands.)
Tumblr media
This peaks in games like Other M (disclaimer: I'm not a fan, apologies to fans of the game) where tragic and meaningful scenes are played over shots of Samus’ butt… like, it’s obvious what they were going for here. I’ve never been a straight male member of the obvious target audience for this so I can’t attest to whether the dual boner-and-tears method works at making a scene memorable, but for the most part it just looks silly from my point of view.
When Samus loses her suit in Other M- e.g. when Adam dies- and all the subsequent shots focus in on her rear end, it really doesn't feel like just about any suited shot in any Metroid game ever, and not in a good way. Like I think I said before, it strips Samus of a degree of gravitas that is integral to her character. Then it tries to play the moment off with a degree of seriousness and dignity that framing her ass like that just doesn't quite have.
(Then again, Other M Samus' lack of gravitas comes across even in the scenes where she's in her suit; this time it's nothing to do with sexualisation or anything, just that her postures and movements don't display any confidence in what she's doing, which is weirdly different from her normal presentation but persists throughout the entire game. Some people like it, I don't think it works, each to their own.)
I've sorta lost track of where I was going so I'm gonna round off here. I'll emphasise that this is all my opinion and interpretation, I don't expect everyone to agree and I completely respect that. I think it's absolutely fair to love Samus while being critical of how her designers portray her and the wider impacts of those choices- at the end of the day, she is fictional and doesn't make these choices for herself. As the audience, we are the ones who feel those choices, for better or worse depending on your own view.
I'm a bit salty about how Samus is portrayed outside of her suit and wish the Samus on the inside was allowed to carry the weight that Samus in the suit does. That doesn't mean she can't be beautiful, but the active increase in her sexy traits and highlighting of those traits over the years is a little bit infuriating, especially considering what they were willing to do with her design early on in the timeline.
Feel free to drop comments, I'm going to try and steer clear of my own salt for the rest of the holidays but I'm keen to know what other people think!

ALL ABOUT BRITTANY
This is about my persona Brittany! Woo! Some of this will be revolved around an Invader Zim RP I’m doing atm but it’s mostly general for everything.
⦁ Brittany is 5'0" and doesn’t mind being that height very much. A couple more inches would be nice to have, but it’s not on the top of her “what I want really bad” list.
⦁ Brittany chews on her bottom lip a lot and pulls the skin with her teeth.
⦁ As strange as it sounds, the sting from the cuts that will occur if she pulls too hard feel…good, in a way. She likes the sting. However, she won’t go out of her way to purposefully hurt her lip. The wounds are accidental.
⦁ Therefore, because of the flesh healing over and over and her biting what’s being healed over and over, her bottom lip has a very rough texture to it.
⦁ Brittany is left handed.
⦁ Her favorite colors are blue and green. She can’t choose between the two. Blue reminds her of advanced technology and the sky. Green reminds her of the greenery on Earth. It’s beautiful.
⦁ Speaking of technology, she LOVES advanced things! It’s just so cool how someone can achieve things people have only dreamed of doing (like flying or traveling in space) with science!
⦁ Brittany is 18 years old (in this RP. In real life, which is me, technically, she’s 17).
⦁ She’s a perfectionist. She used to be proud of it, and thought it made her superior to others (which is does, in a way. Good grades, awards, etc etc etc.), but now she’s realized it’s caused her to raise her standards far too high. Everything needs to be perfect. She can’t fail. She knows that mistakes are good because they help you learn, but it still feels wrong to have it happen to someone like her.
⦁ Because of this, she’s went to a psychologist to ask what was wrong with her. Turns out she’s normal but has more anxiety than a normal person.
⦁ Her anxiousness makes her anxious of how well she’ll pull through with something. She constantly gets worried that it’ll cause her to not enjoy a new experience (like skydiving) because it was clouded with fear.
⦁ Brittany slouches a lot. Please remind her to stand up straight thanks :D
⦁ She’s an artist! She used to want to peruse that as a career, but realized her love for science (space, specifically) and aimed her goals towards that instead. Art is now a hobby for her, and now draws when she wants to instead of scrambling to get better and better all the time. Cuse, y'know, perfectionism! It sucks! Woo!
⦁ CHOCOLATE !!!!
⦁ Loves sweets/baked goods in general. Prefers that stuff over cheaper things like candy.
⦁ CARTOONS (STEVEN UNIVERSE, ADVENTURE TIME, ETC.)
⦁ Brittany’s into one anime only: One Piece. It’s super cool and she’s learned a lot about being a good friend from it.
⦁ Not a fan of oranges.
⦁ Is afraid of dark corridors.
⦁ Needs to sleep with white noise. She can manage to fall asleep without it though (it’s very difficult to do that, however)
⦁ TERRIBLE at replying to texts. Expect a reply within three days instead of now, please.
⦁ She has nothing against the person. She just doesn’t feel like having a conversation atm.
⦁ Constantly lives in her mind; going on crazy adventures that would never happen. That and drawing/writing self insert have really been the only outlets that let her escape her averagely mundane life.
⦁ As a kid, Brittany’s always been interested in science. Why did this happen? HOW did this happen? Where did that come from? How does it work?
⦁ It started with her dad, honestly. She remembers the times when she’d ride back and forth on her Rip-Stick (a rad skateboard, incase you didn’t know) at the end of the driveway while her dad would lean against the back of his car and sip on tea. They’d talk about anything at all. Making theories, telling each other facts, and mostly just looking up at the stars and talking about space.
⦁ Those little talks happened like three times ever during her childhood but they were memorable anyway.
⦁ Because of those talks, she realized how small humanity was compared to the universe at a young age. And it only fueled her fire of knowledge seeking.
⦁ With that said, she wants to be an astronaut now! Or an astrobiologist. Or an astronomer.
⦁ She forced herself to cry at her great-grandfather’s funeral because she thought she’d come off as uncaring and cold if she didn’t. She loved him, but she never knew him well, y'know? Then she realized that she didn’t have to appease to others to make them happy.
⦁ She didn’t cry at her great-grandmother’s funeral.
⦁ SO CLOUDS. GIANT FLOATING WHITE THINGS IN THE SKY. WH OA. SO COOL?? WHY IS NO ONE ELSE FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS LIKE
⦁ SO PRETTY
⦁ OUTER SPACE NERD ALL THE WAY DON’T EVEN UTTER THE WORD “SPACE” AROUND HER EVER YOU’LL NEED TO GET A MUZZLE FOR HER
⦁ Super proud of her legs, man. She got the muscle from her dad and the curvy shape from her mom. *wink wonk*
⦁ When she sweats only her right armpit smells. ONLY HER RIGHT ONE.
⦁ *confused sounds* why this happens  ????? ??
⦁ Brittany’s a brown belt with two black stripes in Hapkido (a type of martial arts. Also it’s one black stripe rn in real life).
⦁ She also teaches children! It’d be way more fun if the parents weren’t watching. She gets very anxious about her performance around them. Almost ruins the experience, but….money’s a thing.
⦁ She doesn’t really feel like she’s at the level she’s at though. This is due to her not practicing at home ever.
⦁ Plays the ukulele! She doesn’t bother to memorize strings or chord names or how to read sheet music. She just learns songs online and has fun. It’s self taught too.
⦁ Brittany quit soccer as a kid at her very first game because it was muddy. She cried about the mud that day.
⦁ She’s a sensitive Sally. She tries hard to not take things to heart, but once she feels that pang in her chest it’s impossible to stop.
⦁ Craves attention and recognition. She constantly imagines herself coming out on top in the end, and wants compliments all the time.
⦁ But when she actually receives them she’s a giddy, idiotic mess. Not as smooth as she sees herself in her mind.
⦁ She’s dropped her little sister (5 year difference) down the steps multiple times in one week specifically when she was young. Her sister’s mouth bled a lot that week because of the falls, and Brittany wondered how she could be so clumsy in one interval of time.
⦁ Christmas is her favorite holiday! The lights, music, colors, and pine make her feel safe. Especially with how her mom goes all out decorating. She makes the house have such a nice atmosphere.
⦁ She wants to travel and go on adventures, but always finds herself lazing around every day instead.
⦁ When the eye doctors told her she’d need glasses for the first time, she cried though the rest of the appointment and until her and her family got home. The reason being that she never thought something as inferior as near-sightedness would happen to someone as flaw-free as her.
⦁ She’s not wiser than her peers, but she’s brighter than them. She’ll talk about things that aren’t normal for a teen (space, the meaning of life, societal issues, the biology of the human body, psychology, etc.)
⦁ Because of this, it’s difficult for her to click with others her age. They want to talk about the newest picture filter on Instagram, while she wants to discuss the concept of time. It can get lonely.
⦁ That’s why she has few a few people she actually counts as true friends. Everyone else is an acquaintance.
⦁ Her sneezes are always in pairs of two. Always.
⦁ When she was little, Brittany used to have this habit of twitching her head in a small seizure-like manner (kind of like a VERY mild case of Tourettes). While at a carnival, her dad told her that if she didn’t stop, he’d take her to the doctor to have them shove a LOOOONG needle into her spine to inject a medicine that would make her stop the twitching.
⦁ Brittany ran away and cried behind the Farris wheel. It wasn’t a good day for little Brittany.

Coucou! (Chanon here, hi again, do tell me to bug-ger off if you don't want me lurking in your ask box anymore) SO I saw the 20 questions thing (quite late but oh well) - and I'm paw-sitively shocked (that or clueless). Valérian et Laureline est sen-chat-tionnel (have used that pun way too much, I am so sorry) - but just yay!? Do you like the BDs, the animated show ou le nouveau film? Thoughts on any of them?
Chatlut Chanon !!!! Didn't you know that curiosity killed the cat ? For real though, I'm so sorry, I saw your ask and then forgot to answer, I am quite the forgetful alley cat. My answer is basically going to be me fangirling so I won't pun a lot, sorry ^^". I need you to know that I'm an absolute fan of the Valerian and Laureline Universe before we dive too deep into this ask. And also you're absolutely welcome to hang around the askbox for a chat, it's always a pleasure !!!! Alright, let's go for the askI actually first heard of that serie because I was watching tv and ended up finding the cartoon. At first, I thought it was kinda ugly, the graphism was.... Special. And then another episode came abd I stayed to watch it. And that's how it all began. I love the cartoon, even if the art style is not my type. The story was very interesting to me, even if fucked up. I was thinking about it recently and realised that, if Valerian still had his planet when he left, it means that the Bad Dude hadn't set his plan in motion. But when he comes back, the Earth is gone. So that means Valerian and Laureline are actually in an alternate reality (which is obvious because No Earthlings, but y'know) which means he was leaving in the timeline where Bad Dude didn't decided to do it ? Which doesn't make sense because it's just that he came back in time to do it ? Which I guess means that the Entire Earth has been moved to an alternate timeline ? It's weird. This cartoon will forever hold a space-ial place in my heart. Now, the movie. The visuals were AMAZING YO. The ending was fucked up, granted, but I really liked everything else. Even the "in your face" romance, which is, in terms of romance, pretty hardcore, what the fuck. It was funny though. Spacey loves love. The story was kinda slow but I felt like it'd fit in the universe, know what I mean ? Like, I could sea (get it ???? Because sea aliens and shit. Ok.) this being an adventure of those two. I really liked the movie, it was funny, Laureline kicked ass, they were both very in character, I will buy the dvd.The comic books, I haven't read much, I'll admit. Before the movie came out, it was goddamn impossible to find the books in the stores. Luckily, I managed to download the pdfs version of every book. Unfortunately, I also have a hard time focusing on a screen while reading. The drawings are.... Something. They are definitely something. By "something", I mean "Ugly". It's ugly. Like, even by my standards. It doesn't look good. It gives off a strong FRENCH vibe though, you gotta give it that. I'm not too far in it, I'm trying to find the will to read everything but yeah, it's nice. I just love how there's very little romance thing in them though, meaning that the cartoon is basically a cimetographic fanfiction. Kudos to whoever. So, did satisfaction bring you back ? What about you Chanon ? How do you feel about these ? And also have you seen the movie ? Tell me

Tales of Peter Parker: Foreign Exchange Student - Die Hard for Anime! Preview
He tries to turn back only to have his chaser, Herman Schultz lift the small teen by the palm of his left hand.

Camp Camp REVIEW:
Hello there, everybody. My name is JoyofCrimeArt and the Summer season has just come to an end. It's that time or year where the heat starts to die down, as the brisk Autumn breeze comes blowing forth to refresh our minds and bodies, and to remind us that-wait hold on. Yeah, okay. So I just checked Google and it turns out that it's currently ninety degrees outside exactly. Sorry Autumn, better luck next month. Anyway, with Summer "technically" wrapping up I though now would be as good of a time as any to talk about Rooster Teeth Production's Summer themed adult animated series "Camp Camp."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4c6JUBauBg
(By the way, this intro is so frickin' catchy.)  For those who don't know "Camp Camp" is a online animated series that comes from Rooster Teeth Productions, the studio that brought us Red vs Blue, RWBY, and the Youtube Red original movie, Lazor Team. If I had to describe the show I would describe it as "Total Drama Island" crossed with "South Park." So what's the plot? Camp Camp centers around Max, a cynical ten year old who hates the entire world around him. He's the typical cynical, bitter type of character you see a lot in these "adult animated" shows. Max's goal in the series to escape from Camp Campbell, a crappy run down summer camp in the middle of nowhere, and make his way back to civilization. He also has help from his two friends, Neil and Nikki. Neil is a science nerd who is very quick to angry outburst. He and Max share the role as the straight man in most episodes. Then there's Nikki, a hyperactive wild child and self proclaimed "agent of chaos." Out of the main trio she's probably my favorite. She just has some much energy, and it's actual nice to see a character who is actually happy to be at the camp, even though she still tries to help Max and Neil escape.  There's also the two camp counselor, David and Gwen. David is an optimistic yet dim counselor who tries to make the three (mainly Max) see the joys of camping, without much success. He often will suffer torment form our main protagonist, sometimes indirectly but often directly. However despite the universes punching bag he's still manages to stay cartoonishly optimistic. I really like David, and he is one of my favorite, if not my favorite character in the show. His constant optimism is really funny but he's not a static character either. In a lot of these type of cartoons we get characters who are either always happy or almost always happy, and they end up being very one dimensional a lot of the time. David is different because while we see him being happy most of the time we see that he does have limits. We see that he gets stressed out by things and is trying his hardest to stay optimistic anyway. It's not like in Spongebob, where Spongebob is always happy because he unaware that things around him aren't perfect. David knows that things around him aren't perfect, but still tries to stay upbeat about it. It's a lot more relatable in that way, at least in my humble opinion. Gwen meanwhile, is the smarter and more snarky counselor who just tries to stay out of everything and just read her trashy magazine. Gwen will often act as the foil to David and it works really well comically. I also really like Gwen's voice actress, Lee Eddy. It's a great voice that really works for her deadpan deliveries, and as we later learn she also a great singer!  The show also has a large plethora of side characters. The show uses a clever strategy when it comes to introducing the side characters, usually giving each of the side characters one episode each to shine. Plus they break those episodes up with episodes that are just about Max, Neil and Nikki. This makes it a lot easier to manage all of the side characters, and the stereotypes that the side characters represent makes it very easier for the audience to immediately know what the characters are about. The show has a pretty large cast, so I'll try to hit most of the more notable side characters real quick here. There's Cameron Campbell, the camp's immoral founder who is on the run from the government. There's Space Kid, a kid who likes outer space and always has a glass dome around his head. There's Preston, the psychotic theater kid (Who is a really funny character by the way.) There's Nurf, the camp bully. There's Ered, the cool kid. There's Harrison, the magic kid. There's Nerris, the other magic kid. There's Dolph, who may or may not be a clone of Hitler. Y'know, all of the normal character archtypes. None of these character get to much development beyond there stereotypes, but there still enjoyable and funny in there own rights. Oh, also there's a platypus as the camp mascot, because when in doubt, add a platypus.
Tumblr media
(Muack!)  Now, as stated before, this show is not for kids. As we learned from "Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared" the more kid friendly something on the internet looks the more horrible and vulgar it probably is. But they do adult humor very cleverly, usually not going "too far." with the joke. There are a lot of adult cartoons out there that just try to be vulgar for vulgarities sake. Show's where every character is just an irredeemable jerk wad. Camp Camp, luckily, doesn't fall into this category. There's some vulgarity in it, but it never feels like they are trying to force it in where it doesn't belong. This shows humor is very clever and funny, and just happens to incorporates some adult themes sometimes. What I like about this show is how closely it does feel to a show that could air on television. The episodes are about the right length, and so is the theme song. Plus the animation in this series is beautiful by web series standards. It looks TV quality, on par with something like PBS Kid's "Wild Kratts" or something like that. Just like Don't Hug Me this makes the adult humor a lot funnier. Since it looks so much like a kid show it makes it more unexpected when they do something very adult and thus makes it more comedic. I admire Rooster Teeth so much for always putting so much effort into there animation, even though they only do web series. It's all done in flash but it's done well, so that all that really matters.  Similar to the point above about content being juxtaposed with the animation, this show also has an odd thing with it's music. In the show itself the music matches, but during each episodes end credits the music is always some kind of rap song, for whatever reason. It seems odd but thinking about it it really does works. I think it's because everything in this show has such a weird mishmash of elements that one more weird element doesn't really feel out of place. Plus it's sort of matches Max's anti-authority mentality, so in a way it actually match in a weird kind of way.  This show is also really fun to watch if you are already a fan of Rooster Teeth's other works. About half of the cast of Camp Camp are returning actors from RWBY. Max is Sun, Neil is Mercury, David is Jaune, Space Kid is Ruby, Ered is Pyrrha, Nikki is FRICKIN' WINTER OF ALL PEOPLE! It's greatly amusing to see the voice actors from the mostly child friendly RWBY saying such vulgarity. It's a nice extra level for RWBY fans. Same thing I would think would apply if you watch this and then watch RWBY, except backwards. Speaking of voice acting the show has a pretty all star cast for a web show. Big name anime and animation voice actor Yuri Lowenthal voices Neil, Travis Willingham is Cameron Campbell and they even got Dante Basco in one episode! It's really cool hearing all these big name actors voices in a web cartoon like this.  Now the show obviously isn't perfect. My biggest problem with the show is honestly, the main character. Neil and Nikki are cool characters but I honestly don't like Max very much. Now Max can be a funny character for sure, but he's not very likeable, at least to me. He's just a cynical A-hole. Which I know is the point and all, but still. I don't hate him or anything, but out of the main three characters he's probably my least favorite. It's just hard to care for a character who doesn't care about anything. Also I sort of don't like how David is the shows punching bag a lot of the time. David is an awesome character, but it's lame that we always see him suffer. Again, I know it's the point but it's still hard to watch. That being said the show does sort of make up for it in the final episode when we get the sorta "moral." of the series, and what the David/Max conflict was leading up to. I don't want to spoil the ending for anybody who hasn't seen the show, but the scene in the season finale with Max and David (If you seen the show you should know what scene I'm talking about.) Is so powerful. From the lack of music to the voice acting to the beautiful message of it all. I would just rewatch that scene over and over on Youtube because of how well done it was. So even the flaws of this show do have a point. It's just kinda a grind getting to that point, but overall I think it is worth it for the message the show is trying to teach. Also it looks like these flaws might be toned down in season two, but it's kinda two early to tell at this point. But that all might just be a personal preference kind of thing, and other people might not mind at all. Especially if you happen to be a fan of cynical or sadistic humor.  ...Y'know what I just realized. This show in a lot of ways in just a backwards "Camp Lazlo." Think about it, Camp Camp is about a cynical camper who tries to annoy an overly optimistic camp counselor and show him that life is a sad and pathetic place. Meanwhile Camp Lazlo is about an overly optimistic camper annoying a cynical scoutmaster, trying to show him that life is great and awesome place.

Random thing. Only recently, when rewatching some of the episodes in preparation for this review did I think to myself, "Why is Nikki's hair green?" Like, I had been watching this show every week for over three months, and I knew her hair was green but only then did I really question-wait a minute. Green hair. Self proclaimed agent of chaos. Oh my God....Nikki is the Joker! It makes so much sense! It was always there in front of us, we were all just to blind to see it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssnw2GA657s
Another random thing. Just one month before Camp Camp came out, another camp themed adult cartoon came out. Camp WWE. If you are unaware, Camp WWE is a show about the WWE superstars being children in a summer camp run by Ric Flair.  I've never seen the show, but I just found it an interesting thing to bring up. The show was created by Seth Green and more importantly IS AN ACTUAL THING THAT EXIST IN THE REAL WORLD FOR REAL! Anyway, I'm not saying that Camp Camp ripped off Camp WWE, as both would have been in production for long enough that they couldn't copy each other. But it's quiet a coincidence. Or is it a coincidence? Hmmmm. Coincidence?....I think NO-  In conclusion, Camp Camp is a funny, well written, Amazingly animated web series that I think you all should consider checking out. While not perfect in any way I had a ton of fun watching through the series and all the episodes are easily available on Youtube. So Campe Diem! Have you seen the series? If so what did you think of it? What's you're favorite episode? (Mine is episode 12! Ugh, it's so good!) Tell me what you think about the show in the comments down bellow and I would really appreciate it. I love hearing what other people think about cartoons, and starting a discussion. Any suggestions for things I should review. Suggest them down bellow and maybe I'll do em if I find them interesting enough. Please fav, follow and comment if you liked the review and want to see more and have a great day!
