To be fair CF is just as much about found family than VW
Hi anon! I'm gonna link the post I talked about the Golden Deer here for clarity's sake lol.
I think when discussing themes of found family in different three houses routes, it's important to talk about Byleth. In a game where the single, main variable between possible futures is Byleth's interference, it means the story has to be written in a particular way--I mentioned this before when talking about character supports and endings; each character needs to be able to have a romantic ending with Byleth, which affects how their supports are written. In the case of the Lord's, this means you're given tangible reasons why you should've chosen them.
I mean. Let's be real here. Claude has the highest survivability rate of any character in the base game. He can't die if you're completing Verdant Wind (for obvious reasons), or Blue Lions. He's heavily implied to live to see another day in Silver Snow, and you can spare him in Crimson Flower! Edelgard and Dimitri die without the professor's stabilizing influence--but Claude? What does he lose without the professor.
That's sort of how I determine subtler themes of each route in a way--by comparing what you get with and without Byleth.
So when I argue that Verdant Wind is the most about found family, I mean it thematically; the other routes don't have tangible less found family, but without Byleth members of the Golden Deer just blatantly disappear unrecruited post time skip in several routes!
Without Byleth, the option for found family is removed for Claude in a big way, I personally feel, and not just by full recruitment runs lol. Not completely, of course--even in Crimson Flower a recruited Lorenz laments having to face off against Claude and Hilda is willing to die in defense of him and the city--but enough that it was blatantly shocking to me that if you don't recruit Marianne, she does not appear at all post time skip, no exceptions.
In a narrative sense, perhaps slightly unshocking; but in a practical sense? This leaves Claude without a healer.
Claude can't hold onto all his Deer even if you don't recruit any of them in the Academy phase. Silver Snow, Azure Moon, Crimson Flower--Marianne will always be gone; consistent, non variable. Depending on the route other characters like Lorenz might disappear as well.
The themes of found family are prevalent in all the routes, but since each route is pretty much defined by the Lord who leads it, I feel as though their personal relationship with the found family is most defining, if that makes sense.
People stand by Edelgard, Dimitri, and even Rhea for better, or for worse. Even recruited, characters like Felix make it abundantly clear that switching sides doesn't change the immense emotional attachment they have to their original lord.
This just. Isn't true for Claude.
Without Byleth, he doesn't get to keep everyone together. Without Byleth Hilda is recruitable in two routes. The idea that you could ever do the same with Hubert or Dedue is blatantly laughable.
Byleth's presence is what enables Edelgard, Dimitri, and Rhea to remain the most of themselves, if that makes sense. Edelgard's war strategy in Crimson Flower is a lot less aggressive and scorched earth then it is in the other two routes because she's had the professor as an emotional rock. Similarly for Dimitri, he's able to recover because Byleth is there to keep him alive and safe. And then Rhea will blatantly die in the Verdant Wind route where she doesn't in Silver Snow. Byleth, in every sense of the word, keeps these three characters alive and well.
But without her? They still inspire loyalty and devotion--unquestionable, again, if no recruitment takes place. Dimitri, Edelgard, and Rhea can all face up against you as enemies with the full force of their houses/allies (save for, oddly, Annette).
Claude does not.
Claude's whole route is about learning to trust others in a way that allows them to trust him. The Deer are devoted to Claude in Verdant Wind in a way they just, textually aren't otherwise, and that's due to Byleth's influence, both as a Professor to these individual students, and to Claude.
When I say that Verdant Wind is the most found family thematically to me, I mean it at a very base level. Claude knows he doesn't have what Dimitri and Edelgard seem to take for granted. It seems almost effortless, in Verdant Wind, the loyalty and devotion he inspires in his friends despite how often you, as Byleth, are told that Claude appears to be an untrustworthy and sneaky individual.
But it's easy to see in routes where you don't chose him that without Byleth, that image mantains. Claude is an outsider. And maybe he doesn't need Byleth in the way the other lords do to survive or achieve his dream (after all, there's nothing saying he can't open diplomacy with his former classmates after he goes back to Almyra so long as he lives to do so), but just as Byleth is uniquely able to be a peer to the Golden Deer, so can Claude uniquely trust and gain the trust of his house in full.
It's not as dramatic as the other two houses, and I think it's the point. Edelgard and Dimitri have already built a solid foundation of devotion and loyalty. Ferdinand and Felix (your "rival" characters in those houses) are loyal without Byleth, even if Ferdinand claims it's to guide her or if Felix complains every step of the way. Lorenz isn't. In Verdant Wind, you sort of take it for granted that everyone will be there at the reunion if they survived the Academy phase. Of course they will--they promised, didn't they?
But outside Verdant Wind, it's clear to see that you as the player took it for granted. And that's why I think Verdant Wind is thematically the most found family. It's not because the other routes don't love each other as much or aren't as complex or there isn't devotion. It's because fundamentally Verdant Wind is about Claude, for the first time in his life, having a group of people he can rely on and who will rely on him without hesitation. It's about the formation of found family, and how Claude doesn't need it to achieve his dreams, but man, does it give him something to achieve those dreams for.

I can't rememeber if you have been asked this before, but what kind of story would you want a Mario Movie sequel to have? Or what kind of themes or message would you want the film to convey?
First of all, it would depend whether the first film would have to be taken into full consideration for that or not; because if so, that would admittedly limit my ideas quite a bit. I have my own interpretation and imaginings regarding how I would have pictured the main story to go, you see! 🤓📝
But either way, if I had to start at a point that would initiate its own new adventure as a follow-up to the first one (regardless of what it was), I would make it so that the story revolves once again around something that we are closely accustomed to as gamers, and transpose it in a way that would give this universe a new sense of emotional depth and complexity.
The exact theme? Life. Or should I say: "additional" lives. 🎇
Their sheer significance and all-changing capacity. How we often take those for granted as gamers, until we can no longer afford to. What we would do if we had just one more. How we would have played the level differently if we had known. How it impacts our gaming experience as a whole and what it means if we stop to look at it from the hero's point of view. What would happen if they were given a choice. Etc. I've always felt drawn to the idea that these characters could actually die, and have thus made the 1-Up mushroom a massively important element of the lore that I have compiled for my version. Its origin and very existence completely shrouded in mystery. Endlessly sought-after by all. A power-up largely rumored to be real, although nobody can be sure of it nor even claim to have ever seen one.
My aim would be for this story to take a more somber and more mature route while retaining some of the levity that makes this franchise so charming and appealing. Have its narrative acknowlege the seriousness of the addressed theme and embrace its solemn tone. For it to be handled with care and respect; to allow for the characters to express a level of humanity never seen before, and its message to strike a chord with everyone. 💙

hey! i hope you're having a good day! i just read your (amazing!) asoue fic "ashes to ashes," and i was fascinated by the way you portrayed kit and olaf. i thought i'd send this ask because i'd really love to hear more of your thoughts on their dynamic if you feel like sharing? but if you don't feel like expanding on it, i totally understand! thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work on ao3!
OHH anon you are so kind...i apologize for being so extremely late but i just finished writing a little analysis so i figured now's about the right time to write a semi-legible response. might have been scary and incomprehensible otherwise. but i am finally here to scream and cry and thank you so desperately because im SO happy you enjoyed them AND decided to ask for more info! <3
to begin, i'd be absolutely inconsolable if i didn't point you towards @virginian-wolfsnake's fic the eye of the storm, probably one of my fave k&o fics of all time that delves into the meat of their relationship through the years from the perspective of kit. they're young and still excited by missions and flirty and tender and genuine, and, in time, when the rest of their world collapses, so do they--messy and tense and so wonderfully realistic you have to read it and then read it again. honestly, if you don't want to read the rest of this but still want an answer, just read that. but also read it anyway
and now i have to ask you to forgive me...i have not read the books in a very long time and while i know the netflix series (in comparison) is bad and awful and terrible, i have watched it a million times. so if i'm wrong on anything. that's why.
to begin, the version of olaf i depicted in my fic is at the height of his...how do you say...pathetic misery. not including the spiral he has during the series. to me, the death of his parents are the beginning of his downfall into something-like-insanity, but he's still (and will continue to be) recognizably himself, if that makes sense. he's always been messy and emotional and dramatic (see the line: "...Kit has seen him in worse states and with a much better view..."), but only now does he reveal not a different side of himself per se, but a different angle of one that already existed.
im a fervent believer that olaf's always been a little self destructive and a lot crazy. hes spent the greater half of his life coming to terms with the fact that he is intrinsically not as noble as the rest of vfd--hes impulsive and obnoxious and self-obsessed, barely even literate at times--and it takes a special kind of guy to carve the insignia of the organization full of people he despises into his own front door. still, his parents' death was a catalyst, meaning he wasn't entirely opposed to vfd beforehand. he probably liked the missions and the secrecy and the dramatics, obviously the disguises and everything, but i think before the night at the opera it was really just a source of fun for him. he never truly grasped the reality of it, the nature of his actions and the weight of his involvement. whether that was out of naivety or pure neglect of the facts is up for debate. (there's a little bit of this in the shattering of thalia and melpomene if that interests you at all, beloved anon. see the line: "...[Esme] could never compare to the extent to which [Olaf] removes himself from everyone else entirely. How he spends so much time worrying about himself he almost forgets to worry about himself...Esme could never truly get lost in her own greatness. Could never turn a blind eye to the inner workings of V.F.D.")
kit, on the other hand, definitely did. serving as a volunteer was her purpose, the sole thing she had to cling to. she dedicated her life to it, making conscious decisions to go against her moral code in the hope that it all truly was for a greater good. i think, at times, she could fall into her own little fits of self-destruction, putting vfd above herself entirely (see the line: "This wouldn’t be the first time she’d done something she would never truly volunteer for...he’d still spent year after year watching her run off...to do something she could never speak of." "...she still returned with clenched teeth and knit eyebrows, as though she had no choice in the matter at all.")
to avoid any more convolution, in my mind it goes something like this: both are volunteers--olaf born and raised (along with beatrice), kit torn from her family and thrust into the thick of it so early on its all she knows. they grow up, probably-definitely know each other but dont know each other until, say, late teens-early twenties?
up until then, they've been everything previously described, but intermingling with one another changes this. olaf's easygoing approach rubs off on kit, partly because she finds more joy in his company than in missions, partly because he makes every attempt to keep her from leaving. i like to think she tries to keep his relatively flimsy moral code in check, or at the very least restrain his temper to the best of her abilities.
to me, they're a simultaneously great and terrible couple. at their best, they counteract each other in a positive way as described above and serve as a welcome distraction from the realities of a crumbling vfd, a little island of tenderness and domesticity in the ocean of turmoil that surrounds them.
and at their worst, their personalities combat so violently it's hard to see how they ever could have been together. olaf deals out the worst of it, prone to neglect and self-isolation, a deeply inset refusal to discuss anything with her, an inclination towards firestarting and an increasingly poor reputation with everyone kit knows. then again, kit isn't free of blame (if you can call it that), she's just as opposed to talking anything out as he is, and her isolation takes on the shape of running off to do as many missions as as she can before she's dead on her feet. she's pulled in different directions--a well-instilled hatred towards firestarers, only further influenced by whatever rumours olaf's growing list of enemies supplies her, versus her love for him, her knowledge of who he really is, a concept that is often tested. (see the line: "He’s reminded of a fight they once had, about something or other, that ended in her angry admission that it was easier to be upset with him when he wasn’t nearby.")
anyway, the idea is they grow further and further apart both ideologically and physically/relationship-wise until the opera night and the crash following that (see: the whole fic!) and from then on i think they fall into something like an evil situationship. they barely see each other, complete opposite sides of the schism. i say situationship because i think when they do see each other (on missions, at events/in public, in private, etc.) it is just a terrible experience no matter what. they're both torn between hating the other for what they know about them/what they did (i like to think olaf finds out about kit supplying the darts) and reminiscing/yearning for what they once had.
for the sake of this i wont give my thoughts on whose baby kit has because that's a whole other thing (not really. its just more of a fun hc i think about on occasion as opposed to something concrete in canon or even my version of canon) but their scene in the end does make me insane. its a culmination of all the time spent wishing what happened didnt happen, almost as though theyre seeing each other for the first time once again, perhaps not blind to the past but looking away for (on olafs part) one final moment of normalcy.
i hope thats what you were looking for to any degree, anon. im a little rusty on my lore but they matter to me soo much. if i have to leave this on anything, its go read eye of the storm. kitlaf fic of all time.

man, kudos to antoine for learning guitar via his piano knowledge, learning guitar via sheet music is a beast in its own rite
Right?! So I consulted with HeathenHubs (TM pending name for my IRL husband 😅), who plays both guitar and piano. While he said it’s technically possible, it would be incredibly arduous. Basically it means that Antoine knows each and every note by ear, and he’s matching that sound to hand position on a guitar to learn how to play each note on a new instrument.
I think this would take him an immense amount of time, but it is probably aided by the fact that Antoine in part learned to play piano this way too. Like many musicians in this era, he is capable of reading sheet music (although not all great jazz musicians were), but that’s not the core foundation for his skill set. He learned to play mostly by ear, in watching other artists and improvising himself.
In other words, Antoine is not learning how to play guitar through songs the way many people do with sheet music. As in (like you mentioned), you study a specific song and it’s notes as they are written, and with enough practice this teaches your brain the association between hand position and specific sounds. In essence, Antoine is doing exactly this, only without a prewritten song as a guide. He’s using the knowledge he already has in composing music and ear training to form that same connection between notes and hand position. In turn, the goal is not to learn a song, but to write a song, because his foundation isn’t to play music as it is written but to have the skill set to play what’s in his mind, not what’s on a sheet before him.
Suffice to say, our boy has always been a musical genius. Instrument, outfit, city. Doesn’t matter. Where he’s going with it…you tell me 👀

I wasn't sure if I could mention this here since you primarily focus on the NDO (and Makoto), but like...Seth Burroughs also looks like he'd be sick a lot. Like he's so pale that he looks grey, and I swear a stiff breeze could knock him over. Like something about him just makes my "oh no I need to take care of him" instincts flare up.
Hey its okay, I gotchu anon!
Its true I mostly focus on the NDA and Makoto since they’re my favorites (truth be told I don’t care for any of the peacekeepers whatsoever) but you can still send your sicknarios!
Yes agreed. Poor Seth is so pale he may as well be dead tbh. I’d never seen a more frail unhealthy looking man in my life. (other than maybe vivia x’D) I remember his profile even says so.
So if he were to get a cold, high fever or any sort of sickness, he’d be taken down literally instantly. Man doesn’t even have the willpower or energy to try to fight the illness. He’d just be on the floor like “let me die” (inb4 vivia’s watching him as a ghost saying “same man same”) hell, he would probably be mistaken for a hospital patient and taken to the ER.
Also the fact his voice is hardly audible…it’d just be GONE here. His throat would be so flared ip that any time he speaks, nothing would come out. Only PAIN. Nothing but deep raspy noises. He’d have to communicate with a notebook or something.
Seth is actually the only Peacekeeper I legitimately felt sorry for. So I hope he can find himself a nice caretaker in these icky times 🌡️🤧
Thank you sm for your ask!
Here’s some quick lil’ edits. I do know Seth and Yomi are fan favorites when it comes to the Peacekeepers 😉

I suddenly remember That you never told us how a meeting between Prime/Archie! Sonic and Fleetway (Amnesiac/Good) Super Sonic would go.
Also I want to read Fleetway Sonic and scourge reactions if They somehow end Up dating (I like Fleetonic and I need something to draw lol)
I imagine any meeting between Prime and Super would likely come after Prime has already had the misfortune of meeting Sonic, and subsequently had at least one (1) argument about Super. If the argument hasn't already happened by the time Prime and Super meet, it's definitely imminent. I imagine Prime would be a lot more forgiving of Super than Sonic is (partly because he just doesn't have the same baggage Sonic does and partly) so he'd be sympathetic to his plight. He'd be much quicker to believe Super when he says he doesn't want to be that evil person who hurts and kills people for fun. Sonic would scoff and call him a trusting idiot, but it's not that Prime is oblivious to or ignoring the danger that Super can cause, he just doesn't believe dogpiling the guy about it will actually help his situation
Sonic's reaction to finding out they're dating would just be more "I think you're fucking stupid" or, depending on how not-awful his relationship with Super is, just a quiet scoff. He probably tells Prime that if he's soooo fond of Super, then he can take Super with him back to his dimension, but he's probably also secretly worried about Prime actually following through, because if anything goes wrong, Sonic isn't there to help stop it. Chaos energy in the fleetway dimension is fucky and corrupted; for all his bitching and "don't come crying to me if he tries to kill all your friends", Sonic doesn't actually want another universe to suffer from that corrupted energy. He definitely doesn't want the chaos energy in the prime zone to become corrupted the same way his was, either
I can't imagine Scourge has much emotional attachment to Super to care too much. Like, he sees a part of himself in Super, specifically in how both of their identities used to be tied to Sonic, but he doesn't like that he can relate to Super. He doesn't hate or dislike him, but he definitely doesn't like him, either. He just often ends up being the one Ebony calls for out of everyone else in the freedom fighters because he's the one with the least amount of history with Super, so Super doesn't put him on edge the same way he does everyone else. So if Super started dating Prime, he'd probably just make some snarky comment about weak-hearted goody-two-shoes flocking together
Ultimately, the two of them together will probably mock the relationship. They probably only find out because one of them comes home and immediately starts bitching about how "did you HEAR Super and Prime are dating now???" and then they spend an hour talking shit about them. After all, even if Sonic has warmed up to Super a little, he probably still doesn't trust him or is comfortable being around him, and Scourge is a stubborn fucker who won't change his mind about disliking Prime out of sheer spite, so neither Prime nor Super have much of Sonic and Scourge's respect

Ok so, I ask a lot about our favorite boi (Centi... my Beloved...) however I was wondering if you have any interesting thoughts about other characters in the castle (Which, assuming is similar to canon and is only Sunvent).
As a result I have three big questions! One, which is based on almost every universe having eclipse drinking massive amounts of tea, does he like tea/ can eat? Two, does he interact with the world's inhabitants outside of when eclipse does, and does he enjoy it when he does (even if eclipse is there?)
finally three, since in most AU it is explained that the reason eclipse isn't rotting from the star power is because he is using something else as a conduit (a servant, since every surviving lord has a servant). does eclipse use sun as a conduit system, and how do you head canon that effects him?
if these are completely irrelevant its totally fine if you can only answer one or two (or if you just feel like answering a bit of this, I'm just happy to brain rot in the Centi box)
Anyway here is this as ask box rent
Tumblr media
DEAR BELOVED MUTUAL JUSTAFUNKYDUDE DID U KNOW U R MY LIFEBLOOD. I ADORE ALL UR WORLDBUILDING QUESTIONS IT FILLS ME WITH AN ENDLESS JOY
1) I think technically Lord Eclipse could eat/drink (nanobots and/or star power stuff) but I think he simply chooses not to unless it's for dramatic effect, yk? (hence the lack of mouth) Like, I drew him with a wine glass one time, but it was definitely just for dramatic effect and to seem like he's "casual" in the situation rather than to actually enjoy it LOL
2) I'm assuming you mean Sunvant here and in that case: yes, he does actually interact with the other followers a good bit and yes, I'd say he usually enjoys it(and probably especially with Lord Eclipse there)! Or, like, during the earlier years at least. Since Sun was basically Lord Eclipse's right-hand, he was regarded with as much respect as Eclipse himself! His very presence was like a morale boost LOL
But, I think that as Lord Eclipse started to become less and less sociable, Sun started to be recognized less as "the saint" and more "the favorite" which led to colder or outright cruel treatment from some. He still goes out and interacts with other people, but a good outing is no longer defined by how many people he helps and instead by how many people don't outright taunt him </3
3) OH YESYES I'VE HEARD OF THAT IDEA !!! Anima Sola was my first introduction to the concept and it is so cool to me LMAO 🙏 I don't think Sunvant is used as a conduit in this world tho?? Maybe. I dunno that might be subject to change now actually LOL
I feel like if Centiclipse did use Sun in such a way, there wouldn't be too too much change?? or. well. mmm??? Not too much change in the dynamic, but maybe a bit of change in what is focused on, if that makes any sense.
Lord Eclipse telling Sun that if he wants to stay his servant and hold onto such a power, then he needs to act like it(not that he would ever get rid of Sun, he needs him too much). Sun being horrified at his own fantasies of finding a way to rip out the connection between him and Eclipse. OOO maybe certain dissenters would try to kill Sun in hopes of taking down Eclipse.....
I dunno, I'll definitely say it's fun to entertain!! It's almost a dlc sorta idea! It just adds on to what was already there and makes it a little more angsty LOL

♡ for Mia and Pio???
Headcanon meme
♡ - romantic
Ooohhh hohoho 🤭 I could gush about Mia and Pio's romance for HOURS, and I still don't think it would be enough to get out in this ask! But I'll try and keep it focused on the overall aspect of their relationship.
Please note this will not be so much a headcanon, and more an interpretation that I am going by in my own series.
I also found a website that talks about the 7 styles of love ^^
- The main basis of Mia and Pio's relationship is trust and emotional connection. Both of them have been filled with expectations since their earliest days, and when they meet each other, they learn that they can open up to each other more than anyone else.
- At first they started off as friends, but not even long after that the relationship gave way to feelings of desire and lust. They wanted more from this. They wanted, needed, to be together, because they could only be truly happy with each other.
- Pio is a physical lover. He does all the cute little gestures like giving Mia little kisses any chance he gets (leaving for work, walking passed her in the kitchen etc), and letting her snuggle into him during movie night. He just wants this woman to know every day how much he loves her 💕
- Mia is the emotional lover. She was given expectations on what to find in a partner, but always brushed off any suiters as she didn't feel any connection. It was only after she met Pio that this side of her was able to be let out. She feels comfort in his support, and is able to draw out the emotional side of him using her patience and compassion.
I also want to talk about their very intimate moments, as it does play a major part in their romance. But it may be too much for some people so I'll put it under the cut.
- Both Mia and Pio have different outcomes with past dates, but overall had the same outcome; Pio is ultimately a giver, but was taken advantage of when others would expect him to put in the work. Mia was hoping to get something back from her suitors, but never did on account of what she was expected to look for, not who she felt was actually good for her.
- After the two of them met and built a trust with each other, they worked out that there was something they had both been missing. The two were already falling in love, but they had to earn each other's trust. Pio and Mia knew they needed each other to break their own barriers down.
- After finally getting the courage to take it further, the couple knew that this felt right. This felt good.
- Often in my fics I do portray Mia and Pio as being very intimate with each other, and while most of it is just fluff, it is often there to highlight that this couple treasure their intimacy as a core part of their relationship. I'm not saying that every couple needs to have this in order to have a fulfilling relationship (because some couples choose not to) - but for Mia and Pio, they're a couple bonded by desire, love, and assurance. They treasure it and fulfil it when possible.

Share some of your music-related hot takes?
MAN...real loaded question anon. Where do I even begin??
It is hard to answer specifically because music taste is subjective. Something I feel is a hot take might be considered a common opinion by others. Anyway, I'll just list some that come off the top of my head.
While I am a big fan of 70's progressive rock, I do think it leaned on obnoxious pretentiousness around the later iteration of the decade. Most clearly seen in albums like Tales from Topographic Oceans by Yes, and most of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's discography. ELP especially suffered for it. I still enjoy a few of their tracks, but many others just come off as...too much. If that makes sense. I can see where criticism lies when people say it became too obtuse.
On that note about prog, I think many of these groups eras in the 80s were really GOOD and commendable! Yes and Genesis knew they had to change their approach, and went head-first in exploring soundscapes in a way that, in my opinion, helped to re-invent the standards of modern pop music. I mean, you look at things like the work done by Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Yes's "Owner of a Lonely Heart", Adrian Belew era King Crimson. The production is stellar in combining prog mentality to pop standards. People that look down on these eras as them "selling out" don't know what they are talking about, and maybe are just pretentious old-fart haters themselves.
People who claim that "all hip-hop sounds the same" haven't actually taken the time to explore the genre. Also these people have to come to terms with the fact that their "reasoning" against the hip hop/rap (let's be real and include disco as well) are explicitly racist.
Similar argument can be made to people that hate country music for "all sounding the same". Please just explore the genres and artists! You don't have to say it is your favorite, but idk it is frustrating how stubborn some people can be when it comes to branching out to other music. People should be more open to trying things. Rock music fans should explore pop. Pop fans should explore hard-core musicians. There is so much wonderful art in the world. Too much to just selectively choose a single platter to stick to for the rest of your life.

33 and 16 for the ask game ? >:3
HAII BUDDY!!! Sorry for my tendency to not actually answer questions and get lost in a ramble LOL hope you enjoy!! ;3
33:
I’m not sure, honestly! I find it hard to be comforted by words, I appreciate them, and I enjoy when I get them to an extent, but I seriously struggle to believe them unless it’s coming from a very select few of people. It’s something I appreciate best when I’m close to someone. In terms of physical compliments, I like to be called handsome, pretty, beautiful, cute, ethereal, angelic, and whatever. I’m not picky, I just like to be told things about myself from people I’m close to… When it’s coming from people I haven’t known for long enough I can get a little frightened and suspicious. Had lots of people tell me those things to get something from me or try and worm their way into my life through flattery over the years, words don’t mean nearly as much as actions (Definitely has something to do with the way I was raised lmfao. Parent telling me I’m the scum of the earth who will do nothing with their life to telling me I’m the best and most talented child ever back to back rlly did something cray zee to my developing brain lmfaoo💀)
I like when people compliment my art in specific ways, I guess! I don’t know how else to phrase it lol, it makes me feel good about myself. Oh, and when people describe my personality and the way they view me. I don’t know if it makes me feel good about myself, but it’s insightful and I enjoy it.
Best answer is: I don’t care what words are used as long as it comes from a genuine place.
16:
Ill love you if you’re good to me in the ways that matter, in terms of platonic love. I’m pretty forgiving and patient when it comes to people, I’ll handle it and love someone regardless of mistreatment. I guess that’s a fault of mine but idk man I just let people make mistakes and hold them accountable based on severity. We’re just people. I try not to take it all personally, we all have our own ways of dealing with internal and external turmoil. I love to be loving, so I love when people are loving in return.
For romantic love, I’m demiromantic, so I’ll love you if I’ve known you for a long time and you spend lots of time with me at the baseline. It’s a checklist I go through in terms of compatibility lol, I won’t get into it. Romantic love and partnership is a conscious choice as well as a feeling. When I make that choice I stick with it, I’ve been with @itstomatojuice for a few years now and loved him for many more before we got together!! ^.^ So I’ll love you if you’re him!! ;3 (and if you hurt me I’ll love you if you hurt me and enjoy it LMFAO the way to my heart is just a cut away)
I just love when people care about me, even though I struggle to believe it. (It can drive some people up the wall with how much I need reassurance and proof that I’m loved before I believe it. I struggle a lot with trust)

uhh I know your current interests thingy says "man idk" but do u possibly have any bug fables headcanons ??
hihi I do indeed! I’ll stick my thoughts beneath a readmore for ease of skippability and also for spoilers:
leif ≠ leif. like is’s less “leif was resurrected and came back complicatedly different” and more “leif super dies in snakemouth and leif as we know him is the cordyceps”. I mean they aren’t as mutually exclusive as I may be presenting them as but idk! I like leaning into how weird leif’s whole deal is. let him wrestle with legacy let him wrestle with his borrowed yet vividly personal memories and feelings let him grieve leif and muse and elizant I and continue to live. let him be a weird not-quite moth
a bit along the same lines, leif having health issues as consequence of leif stuff. wounds that don’t quite heal right (thinking his injury in ch4 is a big one), some form of vision impairment, and poor dexterity are the main ones I’ve got in mind and that last one is maybe a little bit of projection as a treat
leif being a fantastic actor is already canon but I would like to extend that off stage. I think he’a scarily good at putting on fronts acting however he would like to present himself. I think his facades even fool himself sometimes
vi being raised as a potential successor to the queen when she was young before getting a bit older and being moved to the honey factory and ultimately striking out on her own is maybe not canon compliant but I think it’s potentially very interesting and funny. could’ve been a princess but she chose violence.
vi being wholly able to fly the entire game but not even bothering to until the end when she is directly ordered to do so by the queen is so funny I don’t think there’s some deep rooted psychological reason for that I think she’s just like that. maybe one day down the line she’ll appreciate the oddly elusive gift of flight for what it is but as of now she just walks everywhere since bugaria’s built to be accessible to flightless bugs so why not y’know! she just likes to walk! maybe she has really good lower body strength for a bee as consequence
kabbu’s a theatre enjoyer! he can be too enthusiastic sometimes (he’s not always great at volume control) and he’s seen enough plays that he knows what makes a play good and bad and he’s not a good liar if asked about it, but he’s a well-liked regular at his local theatres. he’s occasionally mistaken for an aspiring actor himself with his passion and his boisterously earnest nature but no, his heart lies elsewhere. he just really likes the theatre
kabbu gets shy about it but he’s a really good singer too. mothiva will never know
chompy’s favorite bug is leif (of course, likewise leif spends the most time with chompy and talks to/about her often, although he kinda spoils her and she usually goes to him for sympathy whether earned or otherwise). she considers vi a playmate/rival much to vi’s chagrin. she sees kabbu as a firmer authority she can’t weasel past, but finds his approval all the more special, and often accompanies him/comforts him on his worse days whatever the reason may be.
chompy thinks todd (leif’s turbo nephew) is another chomper.
postcanon neolith fluent in roach
zasp and mothiva childhood friends mayhaps
more of a worldbuilding headcanon (because bug fables’ worldbuilding is a little bit flimsy for my tastes cough cough) but I think the bugs that exist outside of the strict “species = kingdom” is fun to consider. like moths being more nomadic and individualized, and it’s families and their descendants that align themselves with the kingdoms rather than a whole flutter of them. maybe it’s more common to see lone unassociated beetles than bees, for example. idk if I were braver about bugs I’d be attributing those traits more I like it when creatures are creatures with creature traits :] bug enthusiasts who attribute those traits for me are my heroes
also I know it’s a common headcanon but bug fables and hollow knight existing in the same universe is really fun. I don’t think they’re all that close to each other spacially or tonally but thematically and for the antics!! idk. maybe quirrel shows up on his precanon travels and warns about the folly of eternity and the numerous bugs devoting their lives in some way or form to finding the everlasting sapling just kinda. politely nods along vehemently disagreeing
