Next session, we will most likely see 7 people turn Yellow unless they kill someone by a Boogeyman’s means. The only people so far who have until AFTER next session to hit 16 hours (unless something happens to them next week) are Etho, Pearl, Martyn, Bdubs, Scott, and Tango. Scott is the only one with an extra hour on anyone who hasn’t killed or died yet.

Cleo, Scar, Jimmy, and BigB will turn Yellow before the halfway point. Will we see some “surplus” deaths, unrelated to blunders and Boogeymen? I hope so! At this point, things will become interesting. I wonder if there will be a calmer period while everyone is still Yellow, since that happening is inevitable... And I am extremely curious to know if anyone will be able to break the colour boundary after they make it down.

I like team coordination. I absolutely love having to hear someone just ask for materials and the others being "ok". It's not a mob thing, it's a memory and coordination thing. And figuring out the builds? It really tests you Minecraft crafting knowledge. Truly the definition of Minecraft.

Hello , my name is [reducted] it is curently 1:25 am 7th of july , and precisely one week ago , a video was realised on minecraft youtuber technoblades channel , explaining that alexander , or better known as techoblade , was dead .

He died of cancer . He suffered .

This easter i also got the knews that my grandmother is suffering from pancreas cancer and that she has two years of life left . She doesnt anymore .

Tecnoblades journey, as stupid as it may sound , helped me through the news . Whenever my grandmothers chemo would go south i would always think , well techno is getting through it , that means she will too . If she has what techo has , shell be fine . Because techo will be fine . Because techoblade never dies and if he can do it anyone can

The news about his death hurt . I cried for the firt time in a very long time . I dont think i did that because it hit close to home , i think i cried because with him died the idea , died that little phrase , technoblade never dies , died that little quote id say to myself with a smile , died my hope , my courage

Technoblade never dies . It was a simple as saying ice is cold , as certain as saying that the sky is blue . He never dies and nothing wrong is going to happen .But he did and it did , and all my fucking hope was gone . He was ment to be the strong one . He was ment to endure this , he was ment to be fine , he wasnt ment to die . But he did . He fell apart . And if he , the great blood god , the great unkillable technoblade died how am i supposed to keep from falling apart every day .

He died . He wasnt ment to do that . He was my hero . He was my motivation , my role model , he could do anything . And he died . And now hes dead and i have no one to be my hero . To be the person i can look up to and say , if he can do it so can she , if he can get through this so will she .

i think mcyt cc are playing losing game in how they treat dteam. i think they dont understand that a lot of stans, when they are forced to leave for one reason or another, they do leave mcyt space all together. like the moment shit goes down im not interested in watching people who left dteam and even more im not interested in watching people who were so tryhard to see their downfall. i know it happens sometimes people just switching ccs but even looking at the numbers, mine and craft is not as popular as it was 2 or 3 years ago. and sure the big boom happened during pandemic and we now live in different reality but i think that a lot of people just leaves and when they leave upset, they want it all gone from their lives. like i cant imagine tapping into jm stream after dropping dt like ever. i regularly block and mute ccs that i just dont want to see in my recommendations. there's also a whole thing of how they act in general. its not about that they finally proved to me that dt are evil people but bc how they treated past situations - usually in an awful way

im thinking about it bc i recently watched matpat final game theory and he actually talked about it in his vid. he mentioned how yt is is a game in which everyone can win through collaboration - ironically he even used qsmp as an example! and as contrast he mentioned beauty community that started fighting between themselves to gain viewers and steal them from other youtubers. and by the end every watcher was fed up with this behaviour and they left all together. and i wouldnt be surprised if mcyt wasnt on the same path. people mostly watch ccs for entertainment not to be involved in drama constantly. and when never ending discourse just keep happening they move to another thing that is less draining. and this is what is happening with mcyt. not only dt is losing views but every single cc in that group as well

MCYT Eras Concept

For a long time, I've thought of MCYT as divided into different eras. I've finally decided to refine the idea and write it out. I feel it's a good way to define things, rather than just "old school" and "modern", as the bar for each of those have shifted drastically over time. Please do note that a lot of how I describe these eras is mostly from my own perspective, but I do think the overall divisions work well for MCYT as a whole!

Era 1 - The "OG" Era (2009 - 2011)

The beginning of Minecraft and MCYT. Much content at this point was traditional lets plays, simple tutorials and showing off early innovations in redstone.

Era 2 - The "Classic" Era (2012 - 2014)

This era encompasses what is often considered the peak of many iconic "old school" groups and series. Team Crafted, Mindcrack, the various Yogscast Tekkit series, and many, many more.

It's difficult to describe everything that made up the classic era in a succinct manner. It was the true rise of SMPs, Adventure Maps, Minecraft Animations, Parodies, Mod Reviews, MCRP, and so, so much more. Minecraft was unavoidable on YouTube back then.

Era 3 - The "Gap" Era (2015 - 2017)

The "gap" era is named for the lull in MCYT's popularity. In this period of time, it was seen more as a niche, compared to the massive popularity it saw before and after.

This era saw the "death", or at least massive dips in popularity to many formerly wildly popular groups and ccs, as viewers interests changed and moved onto other things.

Many series came and went during this era, but weren't properly appreciated until after their time.

Era 4 - The "Revival" Era (2018 - 2019)

This era, due to a combination of many factors, was MCYT's return to mainstream. Many people returned to both singleplayer series and servers. Episodic SMPs old and new such as Hermitcraft and Truly Bedrock, began experimenting more with the lines between gameplay, story and improv.

This era also saw the rise of streaming based series, such as SMPLive, SMPEarth, and Minecraft Monday.

Era 5 - The "Lockdown" Era (2020 - 2022)

Much of this era is defined by the new heights reached during covid lockdowns. This era kicked dozens if not hundreds of the careers of those who grew up watching MCYT during the OG and Classic eras.

This era is admittedly very defined by the DSMP, rocketing MCYT and specifically MCRP into a level of popularity unseen before. Second, and as just as important to this era is MCC, bringing together so many personalities from all over the MCYT sphere who otherwise would likely have never interacted on a monthly basis.

A massive innovation in this era was also the introduction of the Simple Voice Chat mod to many servers, now a staple of most multiplayer content.

Era 6 - The Current Era (2023 - Present)

Unnamed as of yet, as it is still ongoing, the current era of MCYT has so far been defined by not only the continued rise of many smaller, younger MCYTs. But largely, and undoubtedly, by the QSMP.

Not only has it redefined what an SMP can be through its gameplay. It has brought the international MCYT community is closer together now than ever, crossing language and cultural barriers previously rarely touched.
