I am the world's last Jeyna shipper. I am one of those soldiers who never heard WWII was over and was hiding in the jungle. I understand that canon has moved on but I refuse to surrender. I don't even need the ship itself to be canon, could be totally platonic I don't care but as a matter of principle it has to be maintained.

Jason just flat out ditching Romans never sat right with me. All those backstory hints in TLH ignored. His history comepletely irrelevant. Not once do we see him interact with any old friends who are not otherwise involved. Oh I'm sorry he had never really felt at home at Camp Jupiter than why was he part of the swap. Ooh la la Pontifex Maximus I don't care he should have been the Roman's Roman. They got left with Frank and Hazel who will be great don't get me wrong but they aren't very expirienced as the quest starts. Jason is the only Old Hand who could have countered Percebeth on the Argo 2.

Look as I said above I don't actually need Reyna to wind up with Jason. But...like...something on their backstory. I mean they toppled the Throne of Saturn. Why was she of all people raised alongside him after they were victorious? But nope Romans get screwed over. I also don't like her joining the Hunt. I just don't like the implications of a woman who doesn't want to get involved with romance having to withdraw from the world entirely. Why can't she just be praetor and not have romance.

In conclusion I am the world's last Jason x Reyna shipper who also doesn't actually ship them in particular.

why does the pjo series have to unnecessarily villainize goddesses (hera & athena) or show them as silly ladies (aphrodite & demeter) BUT posiedon and apollo are somehow shown as the coolest/most likeable gods, even though arguably, they're right after zeus on terms of corruption?

ares shown as the worst god after zeus and hera amuses me. last time i checked, he was the patron god of amazons and literally killed a man for attempting to rape his daughter but guess who cursed women for rejection? apollo. guess who raped women when they said no (aside from zeus)? posiedon.

three unclaimed demigods on a journey across the country to save a camp they love and hate in equal parts. a chance to prove themselves to their godly parents and the world around them.

"wait, wait, wait, wait - where's orion?" bradley's voice rings out on the other side of bob. jake can't see him but hears his confusion.

"do you not see it? the three stars right there. that's the belt." bob's finger lifts straight above his head, point to something up above that jake just can't see. he scowls at his eyes narrow, but eventually just shakes his head.

"so then what's that?" bradley continues, voice bouncing off the trees, throwing his fingers up to point, too.

"that's a planet," bob tells him, chuckling. "but good try."

"there's nothing up there," jake huffs out, interrupting them, wriggling in his sleeping bag. he can't help the way he's fidgeting, unable to turn his brain off and the nerves almost overwhelming. "and keep your voice down, bradshaw. there's monsters for gods' sake."

"bob's talking, too," bradley retorts. "sorry, bob."

"apology accepted," bob murmurs, and when jake glances over, the other boy has a little smirk. "though i will always remember being thrown under the bus."

"he's using a respectful whisper, you're being loud for no reason! that's how we get eaten!" jake snaps, before sighing at the volume of his own voice. he can basically feel the smugness radiating from bradshaw. "you're doing that on purpose, egging me on."

bradley peeks up over bob's sleeping bag, grinning from ear to ear. "only because i like you so much, seresin," he teases, flopping back on his back with a loud thud.

jake does not smile at him. he does not deserve it. what he does do is stare up at the sky again, shuffling in his sleeping bag until he feels bob shoulder against his. bradley is close, too, their hair almost brushing together as bradley moves closer to bob's other side.

the silence falls over them. the murmur of cicadas barely registers to jake, who just hears his own heart thumping.

a quest. a real-life quest. too many close calls already. they're low on everything, hungry and tired.

and then bob speaks up.

"do you guys think we're gonna make it?"

his voice is as shaky as jake feels, and he hears bradley's sharp breath in at the words. they're all barely getting started. they're all so close, and yet anything could happen.

if they don't make it, people get hurt. if they don't make it, people die.

"i think we have to," bradley tells them both. his voice feels right next to jake's ear, finally low enough that it doesn't feel like an announcement. it feels like for the three of them. "but i think we will. i think the three of us can do anything, no matter what the others think."

jake saw the looks as they got ready to leave. the glares from those claimed, the anger from the others in the hermes cabin who didn't get this kind of chance. he fiddles with the beads on his necklace, three years without an opportunity until these two came hurtling into his life.

he's not gonna let it pass them by. gods on their side or not, claimed or not, they were going to come back home.

"damn the others," jake mutters to them both. "seriously. we - we're gonna do this, and i'm not giving up. and you guys won't let me down." and with a swallow, he curls on his side to face them both. "i mean it. because i won't let you."

bob turns his head, glasses sliding down his nose. bradley shifts until he's looking at jake upside down, curls smushed flat on the ground. and then bob smiles. elbows jake gently in the stomach.

"good. means you can take first watch?"

bradley snorts, before turning to pull his sleeping bag over his head. "sounds good to me. night, night, sleep tight, don't let the harpies bite."

"find orion, and i'll take second," bob tells him, smiling and facing bradley.

"deal," jake huffs at bob, but moves to sit up a little more, ignoring the fluttery feeling in his chest as he shifts his sword closer to himself. and with a look up at the stars, he goes about looking for a belt.

it's actually so funny to me when antis are like “oh annabeth is so abusive bc she judoflipped percy” it really shows how they have no clue how a different universe with different morals and dynamics can work. don't get me wrong im not a huge fan of that scene either but it's not abuse when the one getting judoflipped is a trained demigod-soldier who fought a war and equally physically strong as the one judoflipping him. percy carried a goddess and held up the weight of the world at fourteen. you think a judoflipp can actually hurt him? lmao. it can't do him shit, rick knew it that's why he wrote annabeth to do so. annabeth knew it that's why she did it w/o worrying about hurting him. and the fact percy's immediate reaction was laughing just proves my point. it didn't hurt him. he was completely okay. he's written to be a demigod for fuck's sake, can you stop applying the standards of real world to their fictional world of trained soldiers.

“but if the roles were reversed you'd have an issue–” no i won't. for the exact same reason. if percy judoflipped annabeth instead, i would still be okay with it because like percy, annabeth has trained all her life, fought a war, held up the weight of the world at fourteen. they're EQUAL on terms of physical strength and trained enough to know how to judoflip without the intent of hurting the other person. the only difference is if percy judoflipped annabeth, instead of laughing, she would likely judoflip him back because that girl doesn't like losing lmao but that's about it.
