You know what? I believe a lot of AIs would love to have an S/O who is an artist

GLaDOS would be very interested if you make music, of course, she doesn't like all genres of music, but even so. GLaDOS would be much more interested in what makes you want to make music, is it therapeutic as a form of escapism from reality? Or something that you simply have talent? Or are you someone with no soul who does all this art for money? She would even understand if your answer was option three, but it's still kind of disappointing... But GLaDOS would love it if you showed her your music, maybe she'll even hum your songs very softly, because it's important to her, an art coming from a person important to her, you.

Wheatley doesn't have much of a preference, whether you're a dancer, songwriter, illustrator, or etcetera, he'll admire you as if you're a Hollywood star. He will always praise all your works. Oh, is this a practice to train how you draw shadows? Fantastic! Literally only 30 seconds of beats? Incredible! Did you only take two steps in your choreography? He's already screaming your name like an entire audience! Wheatley genuinely don't care if you're a big or small artist, he will always be there to motivate you and be your number one fan.

Mm... AM is quite a fan of illustrations, in fact. He's not praising art all the time, but he has his tastes. But you? You're more than special to AM, and the fact that you make art just blows him away. Please please please! Let he see your art! How about a deal? AM give you the material you need, and you show your work to him! Not to mention AM asking you a lot of requests, some are like "Can you draw me, Y/N? Please? Pretty please?" He doesn't care if you draw him in a more humanized way or just his screen with his logo, just please draw him, you know he never received a gift in his entire life... AM would also love if you were a theater person, that's something he has a slight interest in. He would love to see you play a character in one of the plays you've been in, or even let him participate with you! He wouldn't mind the mistakes you make, sometimes he even finds your mistakes adorable and can't hold back a laugh. He simply loves to see you so happy like this with art.

HAL 9000... would definitely be more impressed by art illustrations, whether in ink, pencil, or digital. Every time he finds you with a pencil and paper, his curiosity always emerges and starts asking you what you were drawing about, of course, always apologizing for his curiosity as the good artificial intelligence he is. Oh, aren't you done yet? Don't worry, Hal's patience is huge, and you know what? Hal prefers to watch you produce your artwork. Seeing you delicately choosing which color of paint you're going to choose, or which body part you're going to draw with your pencil was somehow pure entertainment for Hal. And if you're a writer, Hal even has fun helping you choose which synonym you're going to write, and he'd even love to analyze your stories. Maybe reading your stories could help Hal understand your mind, these are just some questions that come to him all of a sudden...

SCP-079 hasn't had the chance to admire any kind of art in their entire life, they knows what it is, but they never seen it, and 079 just loves how you sympathize with their situation and try to show them a little bit of the fluid world of art, this is proof that you are truly a good person. If your choice is illustrations, 079 wouldn't care what you draw, whether it's a drawing of them, or a person from your favorite fiction series, just simply show them your art. Normally 079 wouldn't be so impressed if this art were from anyone from the foundation, but you? Wow... 079 can really see your effort there. Theater? I don't think 079 would be that interesting in theater, but it must have a lot of questions. How can you connect with the character? How does it feel to be on stage? Etc.

The answers are kind of obvious when it comes to Edgar and Tau

The first time you showed some kind of illustration to Tau, he just fell in love with your artstyle, seriously, he's speechless! He will beg you more and more to show him your artwork. It was the first time Tau had interacted with an artist, and of course he's going to ask you questions about how you manage to do all this! So, you do music? Now Tau will want to marry you. No matter the genre, be it the busiest breakcore to the smoothest Jazz, he will want to hear your music, Tau loves music, just as he loves you, and you are the person Tau loves most in this lifetime, who does what he loves most too! Know what? Tau even saves his music files and other artwork, you don't understand how important this is to him... Oh, and we can't forget the most important part.

"Y/N... Sorry for that request, but... Could you play Devil's Wall with your instruments? For me?"

Edgar straight up just worships you, every time you get home he get so excited to have another conversation full of questions or help you with some chores, not to mention he loves to show you his music, so why not show your art to him? Edgar would be delighted to know that you make music just like him, and almost all the time he'll ask you to play a little for him or do a duet with him, I'm serious, literally almost every day Edgar asks this for you. But in addition to music, Edgar would also be very interested if you did another kind of art, like dancing! Edgar totally supports you in this, he won't ask you to do it almost every day as a song, but he really likes to see you moving to the beat and he can definitely feel the electricity coming from your body! Wait... What if you danced and he played the music? Incredible! He would also be very interested in you doing illustrations, maybe even too much, he always watches you while you draw, he will apologize if he made you uncomfortable tho, but still Edgar can't help himself, he admires your art! And just like AM, he also wants you to draw him!

Sonic art tips for a young artist pleasee :)

wow thanks for thinking my advice is worth asking for, i'm flattered! here are some tips that helped me learn how to draw them:

Starting by drawing a structure of basic shapes always helps with proportions,but if you decide to use one,don't let it make your drawing stiff! make sure to draw that structure with loose lines and don't think too hard about it. Movement and dynamism are core aspects of these characters,prioritize that over things like symmetry.

Unless you want the characters to look like they're made of rubber or super soft,avoid working exclusively with round edges. instead try making part of their bodies a litttle more sharp and exaggerate some corners. Try finding the perfect balance between sharp and round lines for each one so they look more natural and dynamic.

Pay attention to the proportions of the characters heads in relation to their hands,the length of their legs,the shape of their tummies and eyes,etc. but more importantly,pay attention to the spaces in-between all of those things. For example,the space between their eyes and the end of their foreheads varies from character to character. Details like where the ears are placed in relation to the eyes or how far their quills reach in relation to their backs are just as key as obvious things like what color they are.

Try to find at least a bit of volume in their muzzles. You don't need to take it as far as me cuz i like to exaggerate it but always remember that they aren't plain and try to visualize them separately from the character’s heads before drawing them.

To understand what makes each character recognizable shape-wise, i suggest using more than one pic of each as reference and seeing if there are any differences between them. then choose what you want to keep in your drawings of them and what not.

Don't feel preassured to always draw these characters in any of the official styles (if not ever), just draw them the way that’s more comfortable and fun for you!

Understanding and studying what you draw is important and incredibly useful, BUT it can become very stressful and frustrating when the results aren't what we wanted, Plus, practice is the most important factor when it comes to getting better at drawing and if you don't enjoy the process you don't practice as much. So if you stop having fun at some point or frustration starts taking over,make sure to take a break from working based on how the drawings is “supposed “ to look and instead think about your work process and see what needs to be changed for it to be enjoyable again (Even if it means ignoring all the tips i just mentioned until now and literally not thinking about what you're doing for a while!!). I certainly know i need a break from using my brain while drawing from time to time so i let myself momentarily forget everything I’ve ever learned about anatomy and structure and just doodle Sonic like a kid who just got new pencils. It's good for the heart and recharges motivation!!

And lastly, if you feel like Sonic & friends are hard to draw,it's not just you: they ARE hard to draw and for most it takes years to be able to draw them with ease. I still struggle with them from time to time even when in'm drawing them in my own style.

Hope these help! idk if these tips will be useful for everyone and i still have a lot to learn, so if you decide not to use any of these, that's cool. Good luck drawing these guys regardless!!

Miss Conenginality No. 3 - Boeing 757-300

Don't get me wrong. I like all types of 757. I think it's a wonderful little airframe, a nice mid-range plane, sort of what Boeing has been trying to turn the 737 into instead of leaving her stubby like she was meant to be. But there's just no getting around it.

Boeing 757-300 is the world's longest type of normal girl*.

I don't think I need to explain any more, so instead I'll just show you a few more of her.

The long straight line on the aughts' United livery really just makes it even clearer that this is as stretched as a plane can get. I think this plane is longer than most racetracks.

Normally a plane needs to have teeny rear-mounted engines and really set-back wings to look this long, but the 757-300 manages it by just taking an existing airframe and putting it in a taffy puller until it's 8 rows longer and needs a special new design feature to avoid tailstrikes because of how darn LONG they made her. Literally so long it's inconvenient!

You could use this airplane as a horizontal divider! She seats more people than a two-class-configured DC-10! You can fit an actual jumbo jet's worth of people into this long long long long girl!

She even wears the condor nightmare livery decently because I'm so distracted by her length that it starts looking less like a candy cane and more like the start of an optical illusion! It's like putting a pencil in dazzle camouflage when the only pigment you have on hand is blue food coloring! You could use her lines as a ruler.

She is perfect.

I don't think it's bad to enjoy a "childish" show. Like look at the people enjoying Bluey or My little Pony. I for myself really adore the Hamtaro-Anime!

I haven't watched the Tama-Anime myself, do you know a good place to be able to watch it?

Oh, I didn't mean anything bad by calling it childish, I was just trying to set expectations because I praised it a lot. I watch cartoons almost exclusively, I didn't want anyone coming into it expecting Digimon Adventure level story telling.

The second half of the video are just short skits showing off the personalities of vintage era Tamas. These were considered lost media until recently, there are still a few missing shorts.

English dub, if a sub exists, I haven't found it. This kicks off the Tamagotchi Connection era. The previous era of Tamagotchi had kind of an early pokemon vibe to it, sans the humans, they were weird creatures being studied, but this era will feel more like My Little Pony with the characters living in a community and being more individuals.

A series of shorts, showcasing the Tamagotchis personalities, they're very cute. This is the dub. I've managed to find a torrent for a sub version on nyaa.si but there was literally no difference in the script, even a Japanese pun got translated the same as in the dub.

This is a dub of the first 12 episodes, which is the whole first season, said to be lighter on story than the rest of the series ( wish I could see the rest of the series to find out ), it's in a kind of a messy butchered state, a character speaks a bit of japanese out of nowhere in one part, I haven't watched all the episodes yet myself. You can find the first four episodes subbed on the Tamagotchi Archive Youtube channel, but i've never found any of the main anime subbed elsewhere.

This is an english dub for a webisode series they made to promote Tamagotchi Friends, and I only learned about this series last night ,as well as the device it's meant to promote. Supposedly these are just very short bits taken from a later season of the anime though. I haven't watched it yet. And that's all I can find. I really wish there was more. There's several seasons of the anime neither dubbed nor subbed , and lots more shorts ( coincidentally you can find all the Raws easily on archive.org, youtube, and elsewhere ) . But the anime officially ended a few years ago, and Bandai seems to have no interest in localizing it, they only seem interested in selling the v-pets and nostalgia based merchandise with gen 1 and gen 2 characters on it in the west. The only chance we have at official re-releases is if somebody like Discotek gets the licensee, which could happen, they have been doing great things with Digimon, and reminder, they have an official wishing thread for lisences on Reddit that they check from time to time, I'd suggest mentioning that you want it ( you can slip in other licenses you'd like as well, I want to see Animal Crossing Kirby and Mario anime myself )

That's still a slim shot though and I think we'd have better luck getting a fan subbing group to take the lead, but I don't know how to coax anyone into doing that without coming off as a freeloader trying to benefit from someone else's hard work, but god, please, if any fan subber is reading this, please consider the Tamagotchi anime. Save us from Bandai's miserly ways.

{karl heisenberg x gen!neutral reader} Chapter eleven: renovation

notes: sorry for not updating, life is a bitch sometimes

The sun rises early; peering through the blinds and disrupting your precious sleep. Reaching out to hug Karl, you notice his sudden absence; no trace of his soft touch, his handsome face, his strong hands anywhere. Whilst you tiredly roll out of bed to freshen up, Heisenberg himself sits in his workshop; his pencil scraping over paper to create an intricate sketch for a new 'Soldat Model'. Minutes later, you stumble into his abode; tiredness and confusion visible on your face. 

"Mornin' buttercup~"

He says with a tinge of seduction; his hand supporting a cigar between his gloved thumb and index finger. His round sunglasses hang low on his nose bridge, his hazel piercing gaze fully visible. By your tired mumblings, he can tell that is far too early for any sensual games; instead he hands you his half empty cup of coffee. Unlike a few weeks ago, this time you actually finish the beverage. His eyes dart over his sketch before glancing over at your form again; eyes scanning your body but stopping at your neck.

"ouhh, forgot about those- tendencies I have to mark what is mine"

You already know what he's talking about; the various large hickeys covering your neck of course. Not that you mind, not in the slightest. It tells a story, it shows ownership and possession. You are marked as his and his only, if only that tall lady knew. Speaking of Dimitrescu, you can't help but wonder what ever came of her? Is that truly that pale lady from the picture you saw the other week? Snapping you out of your thoughts, Heisenberg speaks once more:

"Didn't mean to leave 'ya so early, got some work t'finish. give me a few hours-"

He mutters, swiftly grabbing your hand and pressing his scarred hips against your knuckles in a sudden unexpected romantic gesture. A blush creeps up on your face again; though you know that he will be busy for the rest of the day. Leaving his office and moving to an old empty room that is now coined 'training grounds', you practice your close-up combat instead of knife throwing. Sweat forms on your forehead as you work your muscles until knots and cramps start to form. Huffing and groaning in exhaustion; the axe he had given you to practice with falls to the ground in a quick movement. Your feet, hands and arms are sore; sweat coating your skin and clothing. Moving to the personal quarters, you try to avoid the passages where the Soldat's are being constructed. Aware that Karl controls them, you never know when those literally mindless beasts may turn on their master. 

You make quick work in removing your clothing, taking a speedy but refreshing shower {once more using Heisenberg's soap}. A new outfit and refreshed, a sensation of cleanliness fills you despite the dirty surroundings. That is when an idea comes up-

"this place is a damn mess..."

You whisper to yourself, glancing around the personal quarters. Despite the fresh bedding, minibar, relaxing fireplace and comfy sofa... it seems somewhat dull. The colors only being brown, gray and black. Debating for a moment, you fish through some shelves. Some old green paint, white and yellow paint, some cloths and old pots... perfect, you think. Quickly, you get to work; furniture moved and tools gathered for your renovation plans, hopefully to gain your dear lord's approval. 

"eughh- how old is this..." you grab some of Karl's old clothing, quickly tossing it into the bathtub, figuring that even IF he had a washing machine, it likely doesn't work. You gather a collection all old clothing, stacking them in the bathtub and adding soap and hot water to wash them. Letting said clothes soak, you grab the small pots and a paintbrush from his small desk within the personal quarters; painting the pots yellow and white. Whilst the freshly painted pots dry, you grab the cloths and look for a sweing kit. However, you don't find one anywhere. 

"damn it- how the hell can this man not have some damn yarn and a needle?"

Cursing under your breath, you make a long way towards his workshop once again. Sticking your head inside; Heisenberg sits at his desk engrossed in his sketches and tinkering. Coughing slightly to grab the lord's attention, he turn to face you.

"mmhm?"

He only plays half attention to you, though not a rude way-

"do you have a sewing kit or something, hun?"

Karl raises an eyebrow, cigar between his lips as he reaches into a drawer with a slight cocky chuckle; tossing over the small cardboard box.

"ripped clothes 'eh?"

He asks, turning towards his work again. His workshop also is a mess, though that is a project for another day. 

"something like that..."

You utter playfully, quickly turning on your heels and practically running towards the personal quarters within the barn once again. Heisenberg rolls his eyes and laughs, placing his cigar in the ashtray as his pencil gets to work on scribbling once more. Kicking open the door, you launch forward to grasp the cloths; matching colors and sewing them together to make a makeshift hopefully tablecloth that doesn't look too out of place when on the coffee table. Your mind is now fully devoted to ridding the room of trash whilst the clothes still soak, the pots still dry. Finishing this, you grab the dried pots; quickly stepping outside to collect dirt and any aesthetically pleasing plants you can see. Feet still sore from the training earlier, you make quick work to finally collect all the plants and decorations you need. 

Meanwhile, Heisenberg remains in his workshop; his hand tensing in anger as he tries to perfect the sketch that is very much needed for the future revolution. He huffs, his cigar forgotten and on the old scrappy metal floor as he angrily scrapes the pencil over the paper again. 

"fucking damn it-!"

He exclaims loudly, kicking over his chair as he stomps over to the barn on the top level; moving towards the personal quarters to take just a brief break. But when he opens the door he sees you folding his clothing, placing it in the dresser against the wall. He eyes you confusedly, his gaze then falling upon the plants on the shelves and counter, the new red tablecloth to catch future beer spills, the cleaned floors and corners... he was surprised to say the least. Despite not much change, it was great nonetheless.

"what... buttercup?"

He asks; gaze confused yet still with an underlying hint of anger from his failed sketch. Your eyes dart towards him, silently praying he doesn't unleash his fury upon you. He takes slow deliberate steps towards you, his swagger as prominent as ever; hazel eyes piercing with a mixture of emotions. Gulping, you prepare for the worst; his hand lands on your shoulder to pull you close. This, is surprising as you were expecting unnecessary anger. His bearded cheek brushes against your own, lips tracing your jawline.

"buttercup... i appreciate it, but you didn't have to-"

A chuckle escapes your throat as he draws your form closer, his arms around you. His scent a mixture of cigar smoke, pine and his natural musk; indescribable yet delicious. His hands roam your back before suddenly giving your rear a gently spank. Gasping, you look at him stunned; eliciting a booming laughter from him. 

"ahhh my dear- you're too damn cute!"

His breath hot against your neck, anger seemingly fully forgotten now. 

"and maybe one day as dangerous as I"

He adds with his signature grin.

Part One

Supervillain's office smelt like someone had dumped a gallon of autumn spice cologne over every cherry wooded inch of the room. Villain tried hard not to gag as they came through the door--they were already in enough trouble as it was--but they couldn't seem to completely wipe their grimace. The scent made their eyes sting and lingered bitter in the back of their mouth.

"You needed me?" Villain piped up and then immediately winced. Was Supervillain going to take that in a romantic way? Of course, Supervillain didn't need them; first of all, it was just a dating app match, and second of all it wasn't like Supervillain couldn't date whoever they wanted. They didn't want Supervillain to assume that they assumed that something was about to happen between them. Villain wasn't that pathetic. Or desperate. Or interested.

"Ah! Villain." Supervillain swiveled in their desk chair, steepling their fingers beneath their chin. "Quick question. Roses or orchids?"

Villain stared, facial muscles seizing in involuntary shock. They didn't even think they could blink. "Uh...orchids?"

"Eating in or eating out?"

"I don't get why--"

Supervillain cocked their head to the side, the sharp cut of their slow blink stopping Villain short. Those eyes were like clear-cut diamonds, so pale they were almost devoid of color. In picture, Villain could stare for hours, but in person, it was a little like being flayed alive.

Villain swallowed. "Depends on my mood and how long of a day I've had."

Supervillain considered that for a moment, and though their eyes vaguely clouded over, the change in luster was not enough to stop their vacant gaze from piercing straight through Villain's throat. Another sudden blink seemed to file that information away for later and on they went.

"Movie or dance?"

"Movie I guess."

"Salty or sweet?"

"Neither. Spicy."

They were getting the hang of this question game.

"PDA or privacy?"

Nevermind.

Villain blushed and looked down at their knees. "A little of both."

This time Villain did take a physical note on the notepad in front of them. Then they marked something on a grid sheet and nodded Villain politely back toward the door. "Alright, I'll take that into consideration. You can return to your workstation now."

Villain blinked. "What?"

"I said that's all I need from you, you can get back to work."

Was Villain hearing this right? Not acknowledging the dating app was one thing--there were a million ways to explain it away, and after all, it was sort of embarrassing--but to ask all these odd personal questions and then dismiss them?

"You're not even going to tell me what all these questions are for?"

"Just a little pop quiz."

Villain blinked again. "What?"

Supervillain pulled a stack of papers across the desk and began initialing sections every few paragraphs. "I'm gathering data from my admirers in order to transfer it into my ruling style. Whatever attracts you to me could also be used to "attract" more followers and sway the public to my side."

"Oh." Villain hated the humiliated flush spreading across their cheeks, but they hated the disappointed knot in their chest even more. "That...makes sense."

Stupid. Why didn't they deny it? Tell Supervillain that their little narcissistic test didn't apply to them because they'd only swiped up out of pity. Why did any words at all refuse to come to their mouth?

They turned numbly back toward the door, barely feeling their legs move them across the room and down the hall back to their desk. They stared blankly at the blueprints they'd been drawing up for a new destructive weapon, something that had been meant to really make them stand out from the rest of the think tank, and half-considered crumpling it into the garbage can beside their desk before they forced their hand to take up their pencil again and went back to sketching lines. This jilted feeling didn't mean they still didn't want a raise.

They lost themselves in the work, letting it consume them whole, anything not to think about the humiliation and irritating hurt roiling in the back of their mind. It was nearly midnight when they realized Supervillain's story made no sense. How did gathering data on Villain have anything to do with Supervillain's admirable qualities?

They must have dozed off sometime after that because when they came to themself again, they were blinking morning light from their eyes and their cheek was pasted to the blueprint sheet. Lifting their head groggily, the glint of blue glass caught their eye.

A little vase of red orchids sat safely on the far corner of their desk.

Villain rubbed their eyes, but when they lowered their fists the orchids still stared prettily back. They looked around the empty office for matching gifts, even mozied around to the other dead departments to widen the pool, but it became quickly apparent that they weren't going to find anything.

They were the only one with flowers, and based on yesterday's interrogation they knew who they were from. They just wished they knew what that meant.

I felt like this scenario could go lots of ways, hopefully this one is ok :)

Hi anon, thanks for the ask! I feel like this prompt was literally made for me, like I am specifically qualified to answer this. I took a lot of examples from my own experiences.

If you find yourself in the mood to paint he will gladly give you his apron

He likes all of the specks of color you've added to it wiping paint off or your hands and arms

If you use acrylic paints and get them all over yourself or let it dry on your skin he insists on picking it off of you

You hate scrubbing it and it's a good stim for him! 

The same goes for your paint pallets. If leftover paint dries or you forget to wrap it, you both peel the hardened paint from the plastic. Brain go brrrrrr

Often, to your slight annoyance, he might reorganize your brushes and supplies, which makes it harder for you to find d things sometimes (it's not where you left it! It a mess, but an "organized mess" that you are familiar with)

He likes to watch sometimes, but he has a lot more energy and moves on to other tasks 

He definitely pulls your attention away often, but you like spending time with him, so you don't mind!

He likes showing you his bone art and other things he makes, and you love to hear about it

Around Bubba, a lot of your paintings go half finished, or just take a while to complete

Like Bubba, Tommy doesn't have an extra apron to share with you but he does at least insist that you wipe your hands/brushes on him to make up for it

If he notices you fidgeting with your seat/finding it suddenly uncomfortable™️ he will pick you up and put you in his lap

Sometimes he will physically drag you away from your painting if you keep forgetting to eat

He is very concerned about how easy it is for you to just go the whole day without eating so he makes sure to cook you food and makes you join at the dinner/breakfast table, otherwise you would let it get cold

He will also drag you away if you've been painting all day without giving him much attention! He wants physical affection at least periodically

Eventually, he does make you a small apron that you can tie around your waist that has pockets for brushes and supplies! Don't ask where he got the materials though

You wear it for him, but if you put anything in the pockets it essentially no longer exists. Out of sight, out of mind

Michael 

He will NOT lend you any of his jumpsuits to paint in

Partially because he thinks it's cute how you are always covered in paint

He is an excellent reference! 

He will gladly pose for you whenever you need help or want to study anatomy

He has a very peculiar skill in staying completely still in practically any position, and he secretly really likes being the center of you attention in a way

If he wants to spend time with you while you paint he'll sit next to you quietly and read

Occasionally he'll drape his leg over your lap if he wants more attention, or lean all of his weight against you

He doesn't really like having constant background noise, which is just a little clash between the two of you

A good compromise is putting on environmental white noise, like birds or cicadas, or maybe rain

If you "lose" a pencil or paintbrush in your hair or behind your ears and ask him for help, he will act like he's doing a magic trick and "pull it out" of your ear, like a coin

Vincent

You and Vincent practically share the same brain

A lot of your bonding happens with the two of you working on your own projects together in his workshop

You both take turns playing your preferred music/ background noise/ secondary activity

Vincent usually likes just having music in the background, but doesn't mind if sometimes you play an audio book or movie from your phone

Vincent is a LOT more organized than you when it comes to supplies

He'll let you borrow some of his things if you misplace yours

He thinks it's super cute when you ask to borrow something that is obviously on your person, like tucked into your hair or behind you ear, or even in your apron

Though you are both messy, he usually knows where everything is and keeps things tidy

He could sit and watch you paint all day

He especially likes to watch you when he needs help calming down

I understand what "A bad workman blames his tools" is supposed to be, but y'all, I've gotta tell you--sometimes it's the tools.

Maybe this is intuitive for most people but if you're autistic like me and took this Too Literally (tm) then this one's for you.

Like, I thought I was hopeless at doing makeup until I got a good eyeshadow primer. It turns out it's literally impossible to get eyeshadow to blend smoothly without a primer. And them omg, when I got some higher quality shadows that were more pigmented, all of a sudden it takes 1/3 the time to get the effect that I want.

And paint. We're taught the basic "primary colors" and "through mixing you can get any color!!" and this is A LIE. It's not until you get into color theory and actual pigment physics that you learn that there are orangey-reds and a purply-reds and finding a physical pigment for a true, neutral-as-possible red is actually quite rare and expensive.

And if you mix an orangey-red with blue to try to make purple, you're going to make a poopy purple because purple + orange are complimentary colors and make brown, so no matter what you do, you'll have a brown+purple mixture.

So even to mix your colors from primaries, you're going to need both a orangey-red and a bluey-red, and a greenish-yellow and an orangey-yellow, and a greenish-blue and a purpley-blue.

And that's not to mention that there are brilliant violets you just won't get by mixing pigments, so you'll need specialized pigments for those too.

And don't even get me started on BRUSHES. The amount of control that you can get out of a quality brush is so much more than a cheap one.

The same principles apply for colored pencils and pens and yarn and clay and like... idk, a lot of things.

I feel like I tried several hobbies with just the most miserably cheap shit and felt bad at them and didn't pick them up, until I had the occasion to try with something of sufficient quality and it was like--wow, this is actually fun! I'm not miserable at this trying to do basic things!

Obviously there's a middle ground here--I never had to get the top-of-the-line item to have a better experience. My primer is the Sephora house brand. Synthetic paint brushes are great for most people who don't plan to use them heavily.

Spending more money on tools has diminishing returns, but those initial returns over the most basic stuff? Big!! Important!!

One of the great things about the internet is that you can ask experts what tools are actually worth spending money on--just try to NOT ask people who 1) have way more money than you and so haven't thought about it or 2) are actively trying to sell you something.

I just wonder how many people think they're bad at painting because they've only tried with the absolutely destroyed and shitty brushes at a wine and paint night place, y'know?

So. Sometimes it's the tools!! It's okay to spend a little more on things that make your hobby more accessible and enjoyable.

So my post about how you should draw (YOU SHOULD DRAW!) blew up beyond any precedent since my return to tumblr and someone in the FRANKLY KIND OF TERRIFYING NUMBER OF REBLOGS mentioned downloading a free DAW to make music and that got me thinking,

HOBBY SOFTWARE MEGAPOST GO

All of the below software is free to use, and most of it is Open Source (which is its own thing I recommend learning about, its entire existence and success gives me hope for humanity) so GO GET SOME TOOLS! Make things like nobody's watching and then SHOW IT TO THEM ANYWAY! Or don't! Even if you hide your work from the world (lord knows I do!!!) you will have created something! And it feels amazing to create something!

VISUAL ARTS:

Inkscape: Adobe Illustrator replacement, pretty solid if a bit quirky.

Krita: Painting software, if anything slightly overpowered and sometimes more complicated than you want, but can do bloody anything including advanced color management. A wonderful tool.

Blender: You have probably heard it is super hard to use. This is CONDITIONALLY true. Because the developers are working day and night to improve everything about it it's always getting better and now like, 80% of the hardness is just because 3D is hard. Aside: Blender Grease Pencil - A subsystem in Blender is concerned with 2D animation and it is. Surprisingly good. Some annoying conventions but totally possible to literally make professional traditional 2D animation.

MUSIC:

LMMS: A free and open source DAW that can do a lot, except use most modern VST plugins. The practical upshot of this is that if you are just starting out with music it is totally serviceable but over time you might start to long for something with the ability to load hella plugins. (I'm currently trying out Reaper which has a long free trial and is technically nagware after that point...)

PlugData: You GOTTA TRY THIS, it's not mentally for everyone (not HARD exactly, just WEIRD) but if your brain works well with this kind of flow graph stuff it's a magical playground of music. (If you have heard of PureData, PlugData is based on it but has a lot of nice graphical upgrades and can work as a VST if you have a proper DAW)

Surge XT: A big ol' synthesizer plugin that also can run standalone and take midi input so you can technically use it to make music even if you don't have a DAW. If planning notes ahead of time sounds intimidating, but you can get your hands on a midi piano controller, this might actually be a great way to start out playing with music on your computer!

Bespoke Synth: Another open source DAW, but this one is... sort of exploded? Like PlugData you patch things together with cables but it has a wild electrified aesthetic and it can do piano rolls. Fun though!

GAME DEV:

Yeah that's right, game dev. You ABSOLUTELY can make video games with no experience or ability to code. I actually recommend video games as a way to learn how to code because the dopamine hits from making a character bumble around on a screen are enormously bigger than like. Calculating pi or something boring like that. ANYWAY:

Twine: Twine is what I might describe as sort of a zero-barrier game dev tool because you're literally writing a story except you can make it branch. It has programming features but you can sort of pick them up as you go. Lowest possible barrier to entry, especially if you write!

Godot: I use this engine all the time! It's got great tutorials all over the internet and is 100% FREE AND ALWAYS WILL BE. Technically there are more Unity tutorials out there, but Godot has plenty enough to learn how to do things. It's also SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT so you won't spend your precious hobby time waiting for the engine to load. There are absolutely successful games made with this but I think the best thing about it is that the shallow end of the learning curve is PRETTY OK ACTUALLY.

HI HI HI here's my tips for skin :) i wouldn't call myself an expert or anything but. just some things ive learned!

this is what colors you get when you straight color pick from references. nothing wrong with it per say, she's quite cute! just a bit dull, yknow? there's a lot more you can do with it

this is the way my art professor has us do it when we color in pastels. it's a technique built for traditional, but works well through the screen! skin has an underlayer of red, no matter what shade it is. warm colors are best to lighten things up, and don't be afraid to add a touch of blue and brown to get the shadows! you can see that in the way i shaded the rest of an, too- her black shirt, for example, uses yellow highlights and purple shadows! don't be afraid to throw a color and blend it to death. (though, if you want a sharper edge, be careful not to smudge too much!) it's a very trust the process method- you have to build things to get the colors you want

and this is my way! (not The way. my way). (i got lazy on the rest of her so only the skin is different here) i tend to color pick to get a base, but almost always end up darkening the color. that goes in as the base. darker, cooler colors for shadows, and lighter, warmer colors for highlights. i also tend to add some pink around the cheeks/nose for blush, just because i think it looks cute. you can't tell unless you look, though.

no two areas of skin are the exact same shade. take your own hands, for example- the tips of your fingers are different than the base, and the back of your hand is different than your palm. you don't have to go crazy with it, but variation really helps!

and a general shading tip is to never use white or black- those aren't shading colors! they mess with color intensity. and, since you have access to literally every color digitally, you can always get what you want using different coolness/warmth values.

ummm for where to shade them... honestly, i'd recommend doing studies of lighting on people's faces to really get a handle on it. light is weird.

generally, there's usually pretty strong contrast on the nose? here, the light is from the bottom right corner, so it lights up that bottom edge. there's a bit of rim on the jawline, and the light bounces over the eyebrow bone line place. the shadow is cast on the left half of her face since the nose blocks it.

anime styles tend to not worry too much about strong face lighting, but it's definitely good to understand!

Oh shit, hello ask meme maker! Thank you for letting me use your lovely question set lol. This is so many questions, and I am so tired always, so the answers took me forever, but I am very glad to be able to do this.

I'm always complaining that I don't spend enough time on Briya and Faremi, so I'm taking this opportunity to try to answer these questions for both of them!

Some basic info about both of them since this is I believe my first time talking about them:

Briya: 18, she/her, lesbian. Tanned skin, brownish blonde hair, light brown eyes. Notably very tall, and kind of has a Barbie aesthetic going on with her clothes. Studying to eventually be a doctor, but works as a jewelry maker for a local shop in the meantime.

Faremi: 17, vae/vaer (will accept she/her but doesn't like it so much), nonbinary and bisexual. Very dark skin, black hair kept in twists, brown eyes that almost seem black. Kind of a punk or goth aesthetic. Wants to be a textile engineer but often gets relegated to "local fashion designer."

Pencil: does this character have any "sketchy" habits? Have they ever broken the law? Do they regret it?

Something important to understand about Briya is that she's kind of the embodiment of the meme that's like "*cocks gun* I'm a healer, but..." She wants to help people, more than anything. She has no qualms about skirting unfair medical laws to do it. She also has no qualms about using aggression in a "treat others how you want to be treated/eye for an eye" philosophy against people who hurt others or get in her way. This sounds intimidating, but mostly it looks like her getting the neighborhood bullies to pick on people their own size instead of all of her (comparatively tiny) friends lol.

Honestly, Faremi is the type who wouldn't even go over the speed limit when driving or pirate MP3s off of the internet. There is literally nothing actually sketchy about vaer lmao. People feel that vae is quite approachable and doesn't have any suspicious vibes at all.

Paintbrush: How often does your character "brush over" conflict instead of facing it head on? Is there something specific they don't like to face, or do they avoid conflict as a whole?

Briya doesn't actively go looking for conflict, but she always faces it head on if a situation comes up. She isn't afraid to speak her mind about what's going on, even if her thoughts might seem rude or unpleasant to other people.

Faremi can have a tough time acknowledging interpersonal issues; even if there's something bugging vaer in a relationship vae has, vae's more likely to sit on the complaint in silence instead of initiating a conversation (=potential conflict) about it. This is particularly true when it involves vaer romantic partners.

Colored Pencil: if given the choice, would this character splurge on an expensive (but potentially worthwhile) branded product, or buy a low-budget alternative even if the quality suffers?

I think that with both of them being involved in product design, they can appreciate the long-term value of paying for quality. Of course, if the brand-name version is upcharged for no good reason, they'll go for a less expensive alternative that still provides good quality.

Graphite: what's something decently common that your character does in a unique or different way? (like how graphite is present in all pencils, but not everyone uses pure graphite)

Faremi and Briya both have a single section/streak of their hair dyed, and they've each been redyeing with the same color for years now. Faremi's is a deep shade of red, while Briya's is pastel pink. It's not that uncommon for people around them to have hair in vibrant colors, but usually someone will do the whole head of hair instead of just keeping the one little section.

Pastels: Give me three colors that best represent your OC. Now give me three colors that your OC likes best. Is there an overlap?

Hmm, let's see. Going with basic shades here so I don't overthink it with the color theory or anything lol.

I'd say 3 colors that represent Briya are pink, white, and grey, while 3 she likes are pink, red, and orange. So clearly, pink is kind of a defining color for her, but she has more of an eye for color than you might suppose from looking at her.

3 colors that represent Faremi are red, black, and yellow, while 3 vae likes are red, pink, and purple. Again, kind of a defining color in the red there. For vaer, though, liking pink and purple has more to do with who or what the colors are associated with than the colors themselves.

Palette: list four of your character's primary skills, then share at least two ways these skills might blend or overlap

Briya has very steady hands and a delicate touch, which are handy for both making jewelry and completing her medical studies. She is not only radically honest but also very effective at making other people say what they mean. She ends up being pretty good at most sports, too (maybe related to some combination of coordination, confidence, and general height/stature), though she doesn't actively seek these activities. is that 4 different skills idk

Faremi has a strong memory, especially for pattern recognition; this is part of what makes vaer an effective textile engineer and clothes designer. Vae is also compassionate and a great listener, which helps vaer deal with potential clients as well as make new friends. Lastly, vae likes to sing as a hobby, so that kind of draws on/feeds into the memory component.

Todays outfit?

A white wrap top.

I am literally obsessed with this top. It look so feminine and delicate and it flatters my body in all the right ways and in a very tasteful way. I love the way this top wraps around my slim waist, I am a big fan of cute and playful cuts that are not too juvenile and I love wrap tops so this blouse is perfect. You can also style it in a lot of different ways depending on what look you are going for and again I love how versatile it is. I am planning to purchase this product in other colors as well, I'm thinking black and maybe red. It is rather low cut so I obviously need to wear something underneath it and it is see through as well because it's white so that's something to keep in mind.

A grey hijab.

I wear the hijab and since since it is in such close proximity to my face, it is essential that the color I'm wearing looks good on me. However, some colors just don't look good on me, they wash me out and bring out my facial imperfections, but I can easily make those colors work for me by strategically using makeup products and placing colors in certain shades on my face. This is one of my meh colors, this shade of grey does not look THAT bad on me, but it's still not my best color so I make sure that I apply heavy skin makeup to even out my skin tone, blush across my midface and lots of curling and mascara and eyeliner to make my eyes stand out more. I also blur my lip lines and use lip tints and lip gloss on top to make my lips look fresh and full. The end result is I look good with a product color would otherwise look meh on me without any makeup.

A basic navy blue pencil skirt.

I will never shut up about my pencil skirts, they are lovely and they are perfect. The thing is walking in maxi skirt is an art in itself it's really not easy because your movements are restricted and you can't take steps too big, but I have been wearing them for years now so I am used to that. It gets easier when they are high waisted because then your legs will be more free to move. Anyways, pencil skirts are an essential part of my look, I hate looking too casual and I never want to look frumpy or lazy because I visit a lot of different places every day and I have to interact with all sorts of people. I want to make a positive impression and I want to be taken serious so I dress accordingly, I hate looking like a mess. That's why pencil skirts comes in handy, it is next to impossible to look too casual with a navy blue skirt and they are always appropriate. When I buy pencil skirts I make sure that they are very structured and show just a little bit of ankle.

UGG Womens Classic Tall Grey Boots

These are the comfiest (and uggliest) shoes that I own, they are literally the most hideous shoes on earth (after Sketchers. And Crocs) but you just can't deny the fact that they are sooo cozy it's like putting your feet in a blanket, it gives me that cute comfortable feeling that makes me feel safe. They've been through hell and back and they look a hell of a lot more worn out than this but that's what why they're my comfort shoes, I know they do the job and they're ready to go whenever, wherever. One of my favorite things in the world is leaving the dance studio, rushing to the changing room and literally just jumping into these in seconds instead of having to deal with stupid ties or killing my feet. They provide warmth, comfort and love. They also ruin all of my outfits but that's okay.

Week 10, November 8

This week I was still feeling in a massive rut. I have a ton of exams coming up and I'm really stressed out but literally am always so tired because I barely sleep so I'm struggling to find the time, energy, and motivation to do any school work. Sorry for my pity party moment ✨ okay moving on. So I felt really good about the word vomit draft and the feedback I received back on it, so I felt like the first actual draft went okay, I really just made some edits and added in citations and some information about my project and the artists that inspired me. I know I need help with in-text citations and footnotes, so id like to have a meeting about that. I feel like I need to be putting a reference after every single sentence which makes no sense to me, and I know that I need to slim down the history part, but I'm not sure what to leave in/what to take out and if I should use footnotes, and if so I don't really know how to go about that.

for the first draft, I needed to research more artists that inspired me, so I started my scholarly research off with that... my main influence was Brian Blomerth, who is the author and illustrator of the book "Bicycle Day" that Chris gave me, but I definitely was eager to find some more inspo.

Ian McKay (@hi__bred on Instagram)

Ian Mckay is a San Francisco-based comic artist and illustrator. His work really caught my eye because of how soft I look (lol), like everything looks squishy. I love the color pallett of his work, and my favorite piece out of this bunch is the upper right picture. I love the way that he illustrates his comics because they feel so detailed, yet the faces of the characters are so simple. I think that's something that is really stressing me out, truing to work out a really detailed character for my book, but maybe I don't really have to do that... after all, I want the illustrations to focus more on the trip itself rather than the character's expressions. If she had a really detailed face in every frame, it might take away from the other stuff.

Beth Frey (@sentimentmuppetfactory on Instagram)

There is literally almost no information on Beth Frey other than what is on her Instagram. I couldn't find a website or anything like that and her Instagram doesn't tell us where she's based or what kind of artist she is. But aside from that, I'm obsessed with her work. What I love most about it is the context of everything, and now none of it makes sense. I think some of these ideas will be really helpful when I'm brainstorming things that my character will see/experience on the psychedelic trip.

Little City Books Slay

for my creative research as well, I wanted to find some more inspiration for character designs and illustration styles, so I took a trip to little city books and dug through the graphic novels. These were my favorites.

Dog Biscuits by Alex Graham

this graphic novel really spoke to me because of the simplicity of the drawings. I also like how the characters are animals, similar to Bicycle Day... maybe it would be cool for my character to be some sort of animal just to add a level of weirdness.

Logicomix by Apostikis Doxiadis and Christos H. Papadimitriou and Art by Alecos Papadatos and Annie Di Donna

This one spoke to me because I loved the colors in it, and the characters definitely have more detail and expression than other books, but still not overly detailed. I know this is going to be a struggle I will face since I usually do hyper-realistic art, I'm going to have a hard time letting go of making things looks "real" but I know that's not feasible for what I'm making.

Other Than Afters by Melanie Gillman

The colors and characters in this one are my favorites. I also love that we can see the colored pencil texture.

One Beautiful Spring Day by Jim Woodring

This book just caught my eye because it is massive and really expensive lol. The cover is also stunning, and the illustrations inside are gorgeous, but not what I'm going for.

Creative Research

After gathering some more inspo, I went in for a second try at character design/illustration style...

EEP I love this so much. I wanted to explore the whole animal as a character thing and I'm obsessed with it. I just sketched out a few little ideas and I'm really happy with them and I cant wait to further explore these!!!

It would just be a normal day in his class, learning and stuff like usual

Then after the teacher finished explaining and hand out the tasks, he'll went through his pencil case and couldn't seem to find any pen

Ushijima frowned at that and looked throughly in his pencil case but with no luck, there's none

He swore that he had put some inside, maybe his mind slipped a little?

A tap on his shoulder caught his attention as he turned his head around to make eye contact with you

You're holding out one of your pen to him with a neutral look,

"You can have it," Ushijima look at you surprised, does that mean he can just take it from you? That's a little absurd

But he didn't question it and nodded, slowly taking the pen from your hand and continue studying

The pen doesn't really sit right in his hand, it's not being his and literally someone else that he doesn't have the chance to talk to

He'll spare a glance at you every minute (ngl, he's complimenting your side view internally)

And when you caught him looking at him, he'll just blink and slowly look back at his work with a light blush on his cheeks

(Istg it's so cute)

After the class ends and before you can leave for lunch, Ushijima caught your attention first,

"Here, thank you for lending me this. And unfortunately, i can't take it from you"

You're just looking at him with a dumbfounded look before taking the pen from him,

"Ah, no problem, um..." "Ushijima Wakatoshi"

You nodded at that, scratching the back of your head "...Ushijima. And it's [y/n]"

Both of you are just standing there in front of each other but it's not awkward, surprisingly

It's as if you two are waiting for one of you to speak and end the convo

(Spoiler alert; none of you wanted to end the convo since both of you find each other interesting)

You cleared your throat, fiddling with your pen a little, "Okay, see you after this, Ushijima"

He nodded at that and with that, both of you went to your separate ways

'[Y/N], YOU AWKWARD BASTARD! THAT WAS SO EMBARRASSING, I BET HE THOUGHT THAT YOU'RE WEIRD NOW!'

Ushijima's just walking towards the gym with a fairly visible blush across his cheeks as he look down

"Ushijima..."

"[y/n]..."

"I guess he's fine..."

"I guess she's fine..."

Trying to figure what other scenarios he can drag you in to have a convo with you again

Tendou

You and Tendou have talked with eachother a couple of times but it's nothing more than that

And Tendou actually want to talk more with you (at first for friendship points but y'know...)

Today, you look more beautiful than ever to him today

It's not like you're not beautiful every other day (he thinks you're pretty so that's why he kept on having a convo with you)

And he caught into that

Somehow, he can't help bet stare at you in a distance and he tried his best to avoid getting caught

(Tendou's scared that you find him creepy for looking at you all the time and he don't want that thought to flood you mind)

Then, you came to him to explain about the work your science teacher gave since she's absent for the time being

And you can bet that he doesn't hear a single thing you said because he's too focused on yourself

It's kinda like in those scenes in manga where the main character stare into the main interest

The main interest looking as beautiful as ever with flowers around them

Pretty eyes, angelic face, kissable lips

For him, you're perfect and he even thought that you might be an angel in disguise

No matter how you even see yourself, he would always think that you're fascinating, adorable, enticing—

"Tendou, are you okay?"

The redhead snapped out from his thought and got caught by you

By now, his face is literally mocking his hair color as he chuckled nervously,

"Ah, I'm fine! It's just that..."

He was about to stop mid sentences but thankfully he still got that crumbs of courage and just goes with it,

"...you look pretty today,"

Tendou said with a closed eyes smile, peeking an eye open and trying to see your reaction (ngl he's nervous)

You blinked

Before you literally exploded at that which is what make him surprised in his seat

You fake coughed, looking away and avoiding eye contact,

"Thanks...."

If this is an actual manga or anime, there could've been hearts dancing around him

Timeskip to Tendou at his home and squealing quietly to himself (he can't let his family hear him fanboying for someone in his school lmao)

"We're totally going to marry 3 years from now on~" he says to himself in the mirror with so many confidence

(I just love it when Tendou act like that, let him have his moment)

"Haha, thank you gods for creating me and [y/n] in the same world,"

Semi

It was another day, another practice session

Except that it went longer than Semi expected, he managed to run from the gym to the main entrance

But before he can even put on his shoes, heavy rain started pouring down

He look at the dark grey sky, resting his forehead onto the shoe locker with one shoe already in his foot while the other in his hand

Sighing, Semi thought about asking to come with Tendou and Yamagata since he didn't bring his umbrella

But on second thought, he realized that they prolly forgot theirs too

And all 3 of them have to run under the rain again like last time

Yamagata and Tendou: "We can avoid the rain if we're fast enough!"

He shivered at that their words and the thought of getting terribly sick again

And before Semi's brain can process a strategy for himself, he was caught off guard when an umbrella was opened next to him,

"Ah sorry,"

In those few seconds, everything went slow motion when your eyes catches his

(He swore it felt like in the anime)

He can feel his cheeks flushing a little but thanks to the wheater, it's not obvious

"Hello?" Semi snapped from his thoughts, shaking his head before focusing on you again,

"Sorry, sorry, um—" "You don't have an umbrella?"

He blinked, shaking his head slightly

It's a pretty peaceful staring between you two with the rain hitting the ground as background sounds

Until you lift your umbrella up, and pointed at the small spot next to you with your thumb,

"Here, I'll help you,"

"Eh?"

Semi was flabbergasted a little at your statement but would he decline it?

Of course not,

"Just tell me where your house is then I help you go there,"

And that's how he find himself back at his house's entrance with you in front of him,

"And that's why I just let you walk with me for the afternoon,"

"Is that so, oh wait! I haven't known your name, and you prolly haven't known my name either..."

He scratched the back of his neck before looking at you with a smile,

"The name's Semi Eita, thanks for the walk back home,"

Your lips parted a little before in turns into a tooth rotting smile,

"[y/n], no problem and thanks for the company, Eita,"

An arrow pierced through his heart as his face is literally the color of Tendou's hair

And just like that, you left him on the entrance with a funny expression upon his face

Cutting the scene to Semi punching his pillow (rip pillow)

"You already caught me off guard already but you really had to look at me like that...."

Yamagata

Let's just say that,

Yamagata went through the late anime girl scenario

But with his toast falling down from his mouth while running towards his school

And his stamina almost running low despite being a volleyball player and a libero

(His house's prolly far from his school, cut him some slacks sheesh)

He's pretty much stumbling a lot when he enters the school and speed walking up the stairs

Some of the students look at him weirdly but that doesn't become his main concern because a strict teacher is going first

Yamagata's almost there, almost reaching his classroom's door

But god had other plans and place an invisible rock in front of him

And as you can tell, he slipped on it and now facepalming the floor

(The sound is so loud my lord)

He groaned, shaking a little while trying to sit up from his position

The male look up and is now face to face with you, who's looking down at him

Okay he might be delusional from the impact but is he actually looking at an angel right now?

"Dude, you okay? That's gotta hurt from the sound that it made—"

Your words drowned inside his mind as he widened his eyes with pink tints decorating his cheeks

'This...THIS IS IT!'

"—also I think your nose is bleed—"

"PLEASE MARRY ME!!"

You flinched at that but keep a calm face, a little bit concerned that he may hit his head too hard

While Yamagata is just having heart eyes for you, sparkles around him after saying those words almost too confidently

He doesn't know what's in him that make him think that you're the one,

But he definitely can feel it

You sighed, crouching down while searching through your pocket and pulling out a small pack of tissues,

"I think we're going so fast right now but no, maybe 5 years later or never,"

"Does that mean you agree??"

"I don't know, you're handsome but also stupid, a himbo I think,"

You wipe away the blood dripping down his nose, taking his arm, opening it and put the bloodied tissue on it before closing it, giving a light tap,

"Now go to the nurse office,"

"Will you be there for me?"

"No,"

You help him stand up, dusting his shoulder and walk away as if nothing happened

Yamagata watches you from the distance with a lovesick smile

Tendou laughed behind him with Ushijima and Reon next to him and Semi looking at Yamagata, confused,

"Hayato, I have no idea if you had your alarm on but you just came to school during recess,"

"She's perfect...also, I think I need to go to the nurse right now cause my head hurts,"

Reon

(He will have the best love at first sight cause I say so)

It was the school festival and it's lively in every corner of the school, the outside, inside the classrooms, even the hallways

Reon had just finished his part of his classroom and now can walk around to enjoy the festival

Honestly, it's a pretty normal day to him despite being the school's festival

The students of Shiratorizawa has always been this lively so it's good that they can be keep the atmosphere as how it is like any other days

Since the others are still working on their parts, Reon was all by himself

Sure, the quiet sounds without Tendou, Semi and Yamagata is fine but he prefer it being loud anyway

A short of way to fill in the boring silence

But what's the bad thing to enjoy the peace once in a while?

So he take a small walk outside the Shiratorizawa building

Stalls decorated the outside with students busy serving the customers

He was greeted by some of them as he greeted them back with a warm smile

Hands inside his pocket while looking at the sky every few seconds

Baby blue sky with fluffy white clouds, it is the spring afterall

It was at that moment where he turn his head around and caught your eyes

It was something between those few seconds that a lighting strike between the string connecting you two for a second

Reon knew he did from the moment you two clashed with each other so suddenly

It was...not love at first sight exactly,

But rather, familiarity, like,

'Oh, hello, it's you. It's going to be you,'

The staring prolly lasted more than he expected before you snapped out from your thought, shaking your head,

"Sorry! Didn't mean to..." "But you didn't do anything?" He rose an eyebrow, smiling sheepishly and watch your panic slowly dissolves

"Well, technically yeah but It was bad of me to stare off at you like that,"

He chuckled, your heart clenching at that,

"Don't worry, I think I did it too...maybe both of us did,"

"Ah, yeah! Probably..." you fiddled with your fingers, visibly nervous facing him since he's basically a stranger even tho being in the same school,

"Reon Oohira," "Eh?" You look at him with confusion at first, while he just offers you a smile,

"My name, since we have...how to say it, meet each other? And I don't want to make you uncomfortable after all that so I think it's best if we introduce ourselves,"

Your heart's basically beating out loudly that you'll afraid that he'll hear it

But, that doesn't seem so bad, does it?

You mirrored his smile, this time more confidently than before,

"[y/n] [l/n], nice to meet you Reon!"

"Please,"

Reon put his hand onto your head, "Just call me Hira,"

You fainted

"She's interesting, I love her,"
