#*cries about the kamado siblings*

Hello hello Acacia~! It's good to see you posting again. I hope you're doing well and that this little ask game has been fun for you. I saw the song and headcanon post originally (and several of the asks you've answered are on my reading list for today). I was fighting with myself earlier to decide which character duo to ask for a song and headcanon for. But now I've decided: is there a song you have in mind for Tanjirou and Nezuko's sibling bond?
Hi Erika! You're so sweet as always, and it's so good to hear from you! Thank you so much for the warm welcome back and for the ask about two of my favorite siblings (and they're actually functional this time, what do you know!) 🥰 It really does feel nice to be posting again (crossing my fingers that I'll be able to stick around a bit longer this time 😅).
There are some Demon Slayer manga spoilers in my headcanon so I've put your song & headcanon below the cut. Thank you so much for playing my song + headcanon game!💖
I just about squealed when I saw this ask because I have so much love in my heart for the Kamado siblings! My favorite song for Tanjiro and Nezuko (besides the beautiful canon/in universe "Tanjiro Kamado No Uta," of course, which I'll admit has made me tear up more than a couple times while listening to it) is a song called "Footprints" by Molly Kate Kestner. It's one of my favorite sibling songs in general, and I actually found it shortly after finishing Demon Slayer so it has always made me think of Tanjiro and Nezuko and given me all the wonderful warm & fuzzies about them. 😊 I really think it just speaks to Tanjiro's role as the protective older brother, trying everything he can to take care of his younger sister and always being there for her. I could pretty much quote the whole song here (except for that one line about the siblings sometimes fighting with each other because I can't really imagine them fighting much 😅), but the lines: "Through the years I'd make mistakes so you wouldn't have to make them. I took chances every day, so you'd know when to take them" have always reminded me of Tanjiro as does the whole refrain:
You can follow my footprints But you don't have to fill my shoes It's just a path for you to follow If you so choose You can take the road less travelled Yeah, I'd probably do that too But if you're lost and feeling broken Through and through You can follow the footprints I left for you
Footprints - YouTube
And here's a soft & fluffy Tanjiro & Nezuko post-series sibling headcanon:
Tanjiro and Nezuko have always loved to cook together, and one of Tanjiro's dreams and motivations throughout the series was to one day get to cook Nezuko's favorite meal for her after she (hopefully) became human again. After the end of the series, Tanjiro can't wait to surprise his sister by cooking her favorite food for her, but Nezuko insists on helping him in the kitchen because she has missed getting to cook with him so much. Nezuko has the idea that they should make both of their favorite foods for the meal, and they spend all day together cooking, reminiscing, sharing stories, and laughing in the kitchen as they prepare dinner which they share with each other and with their friends.

「In the stars」 Tengen Uzui
↳ In which right after the fight that cost him serious and fatal wounds, Tengen and his wives, alongside the Kamado siblings have encountered a rather strange demon. (Warnings of ooc behaviour)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was rather unexpected. After all the fight with the upper moon six just ended, and a little while Nezuko have cured the poison within his body, was the side effect of it could possibly be the one responsible for his hallucinations right now?
Casually strolling in the chaotic field left behind the fight was a someone, something in a form of a human figure. Possessing a rather familiar and one of a kind (hair color) locks, their lips on a thin line, their reddish yet (eye color) iris calmly scan the field. All dressed in a rather flashy outfit, totally not fitted on the current field and situation.
He almost didn't recognised it, more like refuse to recognise it. But no matter now hard he tried to deny it. No matter how much he try to forget about it, no matter how many seasons and people have gone by. There have always been someone in the back of his mind that he cannot seem to forget no matter how hard he tried.
"Died already? Doma-sama is going to get disappointed again." The figure spoke in a rather emotionless tone, looking around the field, their reddish (eye color) iris scan the people on their side. They just stare at them with a rather bored look in their face and just stood there as if thinking hardly of what do to.
At the same time, there was no mistaking it. The looks, the vioce, the figure, except with the flashy outfit. There was no mistaking it, it was you. "Tengen-sama?"
"What should I do?" The figure across the demon Slayers and shinobu blink, then burst into a fit of wicked laughter. "Doma-sama hates it when I ruined the clothes he gave me, but he also told me to kill all people who've seen me just in case they go around telling other about me.. for what reason was that again?" They then starts to think real hard. "I can't seem to remember. But this means I'm free to do whatever I want with them? Right?" With a gentle smile on their face, they started walking at them.
And then they started dashing at them. With a wicked smile on their face, they almost manage to grab Suma who just finished wailing upon Tengen's recovery from the poison, on the face with their claws but Tengen who was quick on his feet manage to shield her away from the what it seems like was a demon despite his current state. Nevertheless, "(First name)?"
"That's weird." The demon spoke, tilting their head to the side casually right in front of Tengen and the rest who is now alerted with your presence but was in a bit of exhaustion. "A human with a demon as one of your acquaintance??" The demon blink, "Also, no one but Doma-sama knows my name, how come you knew it. Interesting." The demon smiled wickedly but still damn beautiful for a demon.
Without missing a beat, the demon was right in front of his, their face only a millimetres away from his. "I was about to leave you alone because by far you're the most vulnerable along the group and oh, how I hate coming after the weakest" the demon laugh. "But you know too much." In a blink of an eye, the demon were ready to grab him by the face and went for the kill but then his wives grabbed him back.
"Tengen-sama!" "Tengen-sama what are you doing?!" "Tengen-sama snap out of it!" His worried wife cried for him as he watch Tanjiro take position in front of him, ready to take on the demon right in front of them with his strength. He was aware that the demon in front of them were not that strong, even a newbie could take on this weakass demon. "Wait." Tengen spoke. "I'll be the one to finish them." "Tengen-sama!" "There is something I need to know." He spoke before slight pushing Tanjiro out of the way and casually stood right in front of the now frowning demon.
"What happened to you?" In that single sentence, everyone could tell there was a hint of surprised and sadness that comes with it which was very unlikely of the flamboyant attitude of his. And the demon who frowning frown even harder. "Was I supposed to know you or something? Lucky for you, I don't remember a thing." Honestly, it was sarcastic.
"Who did this to you?" Weapon in hand, the sound Hashira started walking towards the demona and the demon who was laughing in their mind taking his as an opportunity just gave him a rather confused face, wanting to rip of the sympathetic look on his bloody face with their claw once he get close enough.
"(First name)." He was walking close, just right within the demons reach. "I watched you died." It was right above whisper which causes the demon to halt. Why does he look to sad and broken when he said that? "Tell me, who did this to you?" "Tell me who dug up my spouse corpse and turn them into such wicked creature."
At the same time, as if to end ones suffering, the demons head went flying without a sound, without pain, it was all nothing but silence.
"How plain." You blink and look up away from the tea cup right in front of you to the owner of the voice. Right in front of you was a rather flashy and handsome guy who seems to be in a same age as you. "They want me to have this plain person as my spouse? How insolence." He scoffs at you. Nevertheless the just smile at him and never look away from those maroon iris of his.
Perhaps it was your smile, or maybe he was lying to himself, because despite the plain looking clothes you have right now, you're glowing. "What's your name?" "(First name)." "Just (First name)?" "For a family who will either give up their child for a cult or for a renounce shinobi clan, I'd rather not use it." You spoke, smile never once fluttering as you continue to look at him unbothered. In the midst of silence he suddenly spoke.
"(First name) Uzui." For a moment, he saw those (eye color) iris widen before he turn his back into you. "You better start using that now, my soon to be spouse." With a smirk on his face, he closed the door behind him, missing the rather shocked look on your face that was eventually replaced with relief. Hands clenched underneath the table in victory.
Being the soon to be spouse of one of the two remaining siblings of the clan allows you to live in peace and unbothered life. With your husband rather busy with his training and would often come to the room late, the relationship between the two of you were rather awkward. Still, you don't really mind. It was more peaceful this way.
"What are you doing?" In the midst of you seing your sword back and front, you gave him a side eye but never stopped on your training. "Training?" "What for?" "Have you ever heard of demon slayers?" You asked back before looking away at him on your peripheral vision once you saw him sat down on the corner. "I think I have heard a thing or two about them. What about it?" "My clan as formerly a demon slayer clan before we switch into being a shinobi clan. I'm trying to revive our old breathing style." You spoke casually with a shrug.
"Huh, how interesting. You don't look like the type of person who could handle such thing." You were rather frail looking after all. "Honestly you're right." You laugh and stop swinging your sword and went to look at your soon to be husband. And as soon as you does, he blink. There you are in the middle of the backyard, laughing with sweat running down all the way from your forehead down to your chin. Dressed in plain clothes, Tengen doesn't think that makes you less attractive.
"But it doesn't mean I can't, doesn't mean I should give up. A lot of innocent people died in the hands of demons. I believe it's worth the try. Somehow." "..." Seeing him looking rather not interested, you just shrug and started swinging your sword again. "This breathing style that you speak of, what is it?" Poundering for a few moments, you shake your head ans chuckle, rather confusing the man right in front of you. "Sound breathing."
The first time Tengen Uzui have seen you in a rather flashy, flamboyant air was at your wedding ceremony. Being the first spouse of one of the possible next leader of the clan, you were dressed up in the most finest clothes and accessories. Complimenting your already beautiful and attractive appearance that your rather plain clothes could never.
"Are you truly my supposed to be spouse to be?" He asked on a rather joking matter once you reached the altar. "Not used seeing me like this?" You smirk at him, well aware of your attractive and flashy appearance than usual. "You should get used to it, husband."
Despite the rough start of your relationship, this got better once the two of you have gotten married at the age of 18. The two of you started getting to know each other and started spending more time with one other. At some point, you could tell that the two of you have gone closer than the two of you could imagine.
"Here." Looking at what he have on hand. It was a bunch of rather plain looking clothes. "???" "Use this." "Don't you hate it when I'm looking plain?" You laugh nevertheless take the clothes he have on hand and started putting it on your dresser. Then a whisper came across the room. "But I hate it more when other people kept looking at you." "Tengen. Are you jealous?" "If I do admit that I am jealous, would you do as I say?"
"How plain." "I wonder who's fault is that." You laugh in the midst of your own training as your husband went to spectate per usual. And then in the middle of the training, your inside starts to hurt, an intense quick pain spread throughout your body causing you to stagger forward with a gasp. "Woah there." Your husband, quick on his feet was there to catch you. "What was that?" "Sorry, I think I kind of went overboard with my training today." You laugh.
Entering the your shared room, you have noticed the rather unusual mood inside. "Darling, is their something wrong?" You quickly approach the huge man sitting down on the side of the bed. Then he whispered something under his breath, something no ordinary person would hear but all thanks to the breathing style you're currently doing, you were able to hear it. "I want to kill them." "..." "I badly want to kill them." "..." "But they were the only family I have left. What should I do?"
You don't know what happened, he was never the one to talk about his family in the first place so you naturally learn not to ask nor talk about it. Still seeing the man who was usually high and mighty in such rather confused and in a state of frustration. You pull him into an embrace. "Do what your heart wants you to do. No matter the consequences, I'll be by your side. Aren't I your spouse?"
"I don't think I could marry anyone again." As his hand run down your bare skin, leaving butterfly kisses all over your collar to your face, he spoke. "Doesn't the Uzui clan practices polygamy?" You clarified as you push him away from your face. "We do, but I only want you as my spouse. You're enough." "Don't be silly Tengen." You laugh despite the sharp pain on your chest. "Rather than that, if you'd like, I'll teach you a thing or two about our breathing style. What do you say?"
Your days with Tengen were rather short yet you could say it was one of the most happiest moments of your life. Honestly you never really thought about, only on this day, as you stare at the rather cloudy night as you lay there on the ground unmoving, unconsciously clinging into ever bit of consciousness left as you.
He was loud, he could also be a bit of clingy sometimes. He was too flashy and flamboyant that you hate him sometimes. He could also be a bit blunt and rude sometimes it hurt your feelings. "He was really.... annoying. I love him anyway." Your pale and cold lips curling up. Mind slowly going blank as you could no longer feel most of your body parts nor the pain on your side.
It was such a shame you wouldn't be able to see him. Still, you'd rather not let him see you in such state. You even wish he wouldn't be able to find you after this.
"(First name)?" Although you have gone numb, you could still hear him even fron afar with his footsteps. "(First name)." You could hear the way his voice tremble. "I'm sorry I'm late. The mission went long as expected I-" "Were the kids... that lived in the... gasp, village safe?" "Yes... yes my spouse they are safe. All thanks to you they are safe" "I'm glad." "My spouse, let's get you home and treated." "Tengen..." "...Yes My Spouse?" You tried, with ever bit of strength left to open your eyes.
"There was... a marriage proposal... that came... recently..." "My spouse we talked about this. Enough with the nonsense-" "Tengen." "..." "They... they of..fered the younger sis... but I think... Suma... the older sis...ter is much fit..-" "Okay okay, hush, stop speaking. I get it. Let's get you fixed up." "Don't cry." You smile at him, wanting to brush off the tears falling down his eyes despite the urge to close your eyes. "Don't... cry Ten...gen." "Don't leave me. Fuck. Let's get you fixed up. We're going back, okay? Just stay with me."
Holding you in his arms, trying at least to keep you warm. He went as fast and gentle as he could. Cursing himself over and over again. It wasn't supposed to be like this. He was supposed to come home with you still waiting from him on your shared room, welcoming him with a gentle and warm smile on your face. You were supposed to be laughing at him at his attempts to be clumsy whenever you would teach him the remains of your clans breathing style. Tease him for not being able to catch up whenever the two of you would went out for a sprinting race.
It was supposed to be like that, not like this. Oh God, not like this. Not like this as those (eye color) iris slowly lose the sign of life on it. You were rapidly cooling down in his arms. It was not supposed to be like this. Why does it have to be you. Fuck. Why does it have to be you who run into a demon in such time.
"Tengen..." "Yes My Spouse?" Come to think of it, you never said it to each other, right? "I... lo..ve you." And he stopped, it was barely above whispered. He stopped as you said those words, he stopped as your hand slowly fall of on your side. He look down, there you seems to be sleeping peacefully on his arms. As if you were just asleep. Drenched in your blood and sweat. He lean down and give you a kiss on the forehead.
Then it rains. As if sympathising with the man who just lost the love of his life. Leaving his cries and curses drown in the rain. It was the death of his beloved. Sometimes that he would never ever forget. Something he learned something about that will change his life forever. A lesson.
As your previous life flashed right in front of you. As your head and body starts to disintegrate.
"Who did this to you?" Tears then starts to fall. "The second upper moon, Doma." You spoke with a gentle smile on your face. "He was the leader of the cult I was supposed to be sacrifice to." You were running out of time, you knew but that didn't stop you from talking. "Digged up my corpse for him to consume but found it a waste for him to consume so he turned me into his puppet instead, for entertainment." You laugh like it was nothing.
"Tengen." You called him out gently. "You have a lovely wives by your side. I'm glad." You smile at him. How strange was it to have a talking head, but none of the two of you mind. "Don't give me that look." "You're leaving me again." "Much better than a wandering demon puppet." "..." "Thank you." "..." "I'm glad to see you again, Tengen."
As you completely turn into ashes and blown away by the wind. Tengen sat down on the ground. "Tengen-sama!" With his wives quickly surrounding him. He smiled a bit and reassured them he was okay before looking up on the sky filled with stars.
Tengen, if Gods permits. I'd like to meet and fall in love with you on my next life. But for now, I'll be watching you among the stars.
[ⓒdark-night-hero] 2023°
: this was just supposed to be an image. I haven't watched the latest season so I think Tengen might be a out of character but please do bare with it. I just saw a clips and reels about the aftermath of the able with the uppermoon six, you know that nezuko setting him in flames and his relationship with his wives and thought 'oh wait what if he has a first spouse none of them knew about?'

Hi! I could do a Lee Giyuu, Ler Sanemi but a moment after the final battle (you can refer to the image of them 2 that you uploaded before) please
Waaah!!! Of course!! (Kinda inspired)
Tumblr media
Warning: This fanfic contains tickles. Also remind them that I don't speak English, so if they find any errors, let me know to correct it. I hope you like it!
Lee: Giyuu Tomioka
Ler: Sanemi Shinazugawa
'I can't believe it's all finally over... A world without demons is something I didn't think could happen and if it did, I'd be dead by then..' 'Hey, don't say that. But you're right, everything finally ended... All thanks to everyone's efforts, although I would have liked none of our partners to have died', Sanemi and Giyuu looked at each other and looked at the sky again.
'I wish my sister was here to see this. I had friends, I got married and I'm happy again....', Giyuu turned so that Sanemi wouldn't see him cry, but it was in vain, Sanemi could hear his sobs
'Yu-yuu! Don't cry!', Sanemi turned his boyfriend around and placed him on his lap, making sure he was comfortable and comforted him, although he cried with him, he also wanted his family to be with him and see his happiness, but he knew what they were seeing from heaven.
'Better? Eh?', Sanemi smiled, Giyuu had fallen asleep, so he placed him gently on the grass and stroked his head
He didn't know how much time had passed, but maybe it was an hour, Sanemi got annoyed. They had arranged to have lunch with Tengen and he hadn't arrived, fucking oversized rock, Sanemi whispered.
'Yuu, how about we go back home? I think Tengen won't come, let's wake up', Sanemi gently moved his boyfriend but he didn't wake up or was what he wanted to pretend, Sanemi could see a smile on Giyuu's face, he wasn't asleep
'Ohh so why are you pretending to be asleep? Come here Giyuu!' 'Wahahait! Nehehemi! Cohohohome on!', Giyuu tried to curl up into a ball when Sanemi decided to gently and playfully squeeze his hips
'Stohohop! Tehehengehehen cahahan come!' 'That oversized rock won't come and if it did come it would join me!', Sanemi didn't remember when was the last time he tickled him, no wait, he remembered it, it was before he left and got to the field.
'I had forgotten how fucking ticklish you were! Hmmm.. let's see, where else are you ticklish?' 'Hehehe! Nehehehemi!! Gyahahahaha!!', Giyuu tried to stop Sanemi but, he could only catch one hand, you know what I mean...
Sanemi teased Giyuu, mentioning some place and tickling him in that place, laughing and enjoying how his boyfriend covered his embarrassed face with his sleeves. For Sanemi, that expression was priceless and he knew that Giyuu didn't care much but was embarrassed by it.
'You are upset? Come here!', Sanemi picked up Giyuu and once again sat him on his lap, lovingly kissing his neck as his fingers slid over his ribs.
'SHINAZUGAWA PLEASE!! IHIHIT TIHIHICKLEEEES!! WAHAHAHA!!! STAHAHAHAP!!! OHOHOHO GOHOHOSH!!! ENOUGH!! Nemi please!', Sanemi stopped and looked at Giyuu, gently caressing his cheeks and wiping away his tears of happiness.
'Ahh~ you're so mean...' 'Hehehe, I couldn't help it.' 'Did I tell you or not that they are adorable?' 'Eh?!', Sanemi and Giyuu looked behind them, Tengen was leaning against a tree while smiling.
'Am I interrupting something?' 'Hah?! We were waiting for you almost 2 hours! Where were you?!' 'I was with the Ubuyashiki and then I went to visit the Kamado siblings, I guess I didn't calculate the time. But, I guess you guys didn't care, right?', Giyuu and Sanemi were embarrassed, Sanemi would kill Tengen after that picnic, he definitely would.

I was laughing until I couldn't stand this idea. How would RoR's adoptive family react if her adoptive daughter with the personality of Zenitsu tells them that she wants to marry Tanjiro Kamado?
-Your family didn’t know what to make of Tanjiro, after seeing you training alongside of him.
-He was a nice young man, doting on his sister who was a demon, trying to figure out a way to change her back into a human.
-You were friends with his sister too, doting on her like she was your own sister, constantly praising her about how cute she was, as you didn’t have any siblings yourself.
-Loki, Ares, and Raiden were peeking out from behind a corner, head’s stacked on top of each other, watching the three of you sitting together, talking about training.
-Loki was gritting his teeth in fury, “That boy is too familiar with our little Y/N!”
-Raiden nearly crushed the pillar he was gripping as you smiled at Tanjiro, “You were so strong in that last fight, Tanjiro-kun! You and Nezuko both!”
-Tanjiro just smiled a bit bashfully as he rubbed the back of his head before he spoke, “You’re amazing too Y/N-chan! You were so fast that I could barely keep up!”
-Your three fathers all turned to stone as you instantly blushed, turning away while holding your cheeks, silently gushing from his praise as Tanjiro instantly panicked himself, flushing while Nezuko just rolled her eyes at the two of you, thinking you were both so cute.
-When you arrived home, you had a fire of determination in your belly as you went to tell your family that you found the man you wanted to marry!
-You were surprised to see a dark aura surrounding everyone but Eve and Brunnhilde, who looked more exasperated than anything else as Adam approached, putting a hand on your head, “My daughter, who was that boy you were with earlier? Was it that Tanjiro kid?”
-You blushed cutely, holding your cheeks and everyone froze, looking at you with red eyes, ready to kill this kid, “Yes it was! He’s the man I want to marry!”
-You could hear a pin fall miles away as your family all froze in horror, hearing your declaration.
-Eve was the only one to hug you, so happy as you smiled warmly up at her before everyone else was quick to make their way to the door, all shouting revenge on Tanjiro while you cried comically, begging them to not hurt your future husband!

It's Too Cold For You Here
Tanjiro journeys by himself in a snow storm to his old home, while Nezuko stays and sleeps at Butterfly Mansion. Giyu Tomioka catches sight of him near his home village and follows at a distance to see what he is up to. He watches Tanjiro grieving at his old home for his family, wandering around and sitting in his house like a lost soul. Unable to leave him, he steps in, and eventually convinces Tanjiro to leave the bloodstained place and follow him to a Wisteria House, where the boy finally opens up about his heartbreaking reunion with his family in the dream world and how he left them crying after him and how much he misses his parents, as well as how he had to take his own life so many times to escape. He admits that he hates himself and blames himself for not going home that night and relives the cruel words that his 'dream family' said to him. He admits he relives the whole thing every night and is so exhausted and emotionally beaten he barely eats or sleeps anymore.
The dream world for Tanjiro...I am so sure just about broke him mentally and emotionally. He has not told anyone because it was so painful, so Giyu is the first to learn and I am sure he is inwardly heart broken for the boy, even if he is so stoic and gruff. But he can see how much damage it has done to Tanjiro and because he cares for him, he is concerned.
Maybe during the conversation Tanjiro also opens up and shares things about his dad and mom and siblings so Giyu gets to learn more about his family as well as who Nezuko was as a human.
It would be cool to get a lot of Giyu's inward thoughts on the boy, past, present, and future, as well as what he is thinking while listening to the boy.
Angst comfort fic, with stoic Giyu comforting Tanjiro to the best of his abilities and getting him to eat some supper. Platonic cuddling and sleeping?
Hiii, I don’t know if this is exactly what you want me to write, maybe I made some changes, but I left the main focus as you wanted, I hope you like it anyway 💛💛
It’s too cold for you here

Gyuu Tomioka was climbing the cold mountain, the air there gave him a headache
It wasn't the first time he visited that area, not really. He had already gone there the first time he met the Kamado twins
The town there seemed bustling, despite the intense cold of the winter that was beginning.
Some people wished him good morning as he passed by, but Gyuu didn't respond to them, because he wasn't interested in talking to other people at all, he had something to resolve.
Shinobu Kochou had informed him that Tanjiro Kamado had disappeared that night, leaving his sister sleeping peacefully in the rooms of the Boboleta Mansion.
Wasn't that common for Tanjiro to disappear like that overnight? Go out without him sister? Run away and abandon everyone?
These questions certainly didn't make sense in his head.
So Gyuu used reason to understand where Tanjiro had gone, and the answer was this mountain
He thought of all the possibilities of what could happen as he climbed through the deep snow.
He stopped in front of a small house, humble, cozy, on top of the mountain.
And he heard a very familiar sound
As he got closer, he realized that the sound was coming from someone crying.
Tomioka's heart accelerated and he ran into the place
Yes, Tanjiro was kneeling on the carpet on the floor. He cried, as if all the scenes he experienced there were happening now
The man felt a pang in his heart, how cruel life was for that little boy.
“Tanjiro-“ Gyuu said
The boy looked back scared, but calmed down when he saw who it was.
“What happened here, Tanjiro?”
The boy opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't say anything.
Gyuu sighed
“Come here” he extended a hand to help Tanjiro up, but when he pulled the boy, he brought him into a big hug
Tanjiro was a little confused, but relief spread throughout his body, he stopped crying.
"You are hurt?" Gyuu asked, referring to the boy's bloody leg.
“Y-yes” he finally said “I got stuck in some bushes on the way here”
Tanjiro took a few steps back and Gyuu saw that he was limping.
“Come on” Tomioka signaled to Tanjiro “come up here”
The boy did as he was asked, he climbed onto Gyuu's back
And in that position the two descended the mountain
Gyuu really wanted to ask what was happening, why Tanjiro was like this. But would the boy want to tell it? Gyuu doesn't see any reason why someone would want to tell him a secret
But he should try, for the boy's sake
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gyuu left Tanjiro alone in a room in the Butterfly Mansion and went to look for help for a moment.
He was afraid of what sadness could do to him
The man ran until he found Shinobu
“Please, Kocho, some medicine” he panted after running so desperately
“Tomioka, what happened?”
“I found him, Tanjiro”
Shinobu opened her eyes wide and ran to her room.
In just a few minutes, Shinobu had prepared bandages and medicine for the boy.
"Are you well?" She asked. Tomioka could see that the fake smile wasn't even on her face, she was worried
“Yes” Tanjiro replied, but without smiling like he always did.
Shinobu looked at Tomioka, she got up and went towards the door
“Tomioka, please come here”
The man did as he was asked
“Please, I fear that Tanjiro is reaching the point of irreversible sadness, talk to him, you are still the one who helped him, the one who allowed him to become who he is today”
Tomioka sighed, he looked away from her, he wanted to help, he really wanted to
“You’re like a big brother” she asked “think of him as Sabito, okay?”
Tomioka was scared, he didn't remember telling Shinobu about his life, but... but...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh yes, it was on a day like that. Tomioka was found wandering in the mountains looking for the place where Sabito had been buried, he ended up slipping on the snow in the mountains and fell, all the way down the hill.
He remained on the ground, all broken, just waiting for death, when someone came close to him. They were two beautiful women, he remembers, they were Kanae and Shinobu Kochou
They carried him and took him to a beautiful, large house, in the room where they placed him there were several sick people, injured like him.
Then the woman with pink barrettes in her hair approached him.
“What’s your name, hunter?”
Gyuu looked at her, he wasn't a hashira yet, nor was Shinobu, just Kanae
“Gyuu Tomioka”
Kanae sighed
He could see that Shinobu was staring at him, but when he looked at her, she looked away.
“Why were you climbing the mountain, Tomioka?” Kanae asked.
Gyuu didn't respond
The woman seemed worried “it’s okay, if you need anything you can call me”
Then Kanae left the room, leaving Gyuu and Shinobu alone.
A long moment of silence was broken by Shinobu
“Did you know anyone from there?”
Gyuu felt a pang in his heart
"Yes"
The woman looked at him “who?”
Gyuu didn't know why he should tell Shinobu about this, but he felt like he should. Did she make you feel confident? What was that feeling? He barely knew her
"It's a long story…"
"I am interested"
Their gaze met
Gyuu felt hot
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The feeling that someone cares about you is very good, Gyuu wanted Tanjiro to feel it too
“I’ll take care of him” he said, placing a hand on the woman’s shoulder.
"Thanks"
Gyuu Tomioka entered the room again
Tanjiro was curled up on his bed, lying down, sad. Gyuu sat next to him
“Do you want to talk, Tanjiro?”
The boy sat down “talk about what, sir?” Even sad he was impressively polite
“About why you were on that mountain”
Tanjiro sighed, he covered his face with his hands, Gyuu heard the sound of crying
“No- there’s no need to talk, only if you want to” Gyuu said worriedly
The boy calmed down “I want to talk”
Gyuu looked at him, the more relieved and calm expression, different from the bored and sad one that was always on the hashira's face, made Tanjiro feel calmer and calmer.
“So get started, I’m here to listen.”
Tanjiro said, once he started talking he didn't stop. He told about when his father died, about what Nezuko was like when she was human, about his mother and his brothers, about the day he slept outside and never stopped blaming himself for it, when he discovered that they were dead...
Gyuu really didn't imagine Tanjiro's life was so difficult
Finally, the boy ended by telling about the dream he was subjected to by that inferior omnimoon, the terror he felt at having to take his own life so many times, having to abandon his family even though he knew none of it was real.
“It was torture! Psychological torture, that shitty oni, I hate it! I hate them!” Tanjiro started screaming, getting out of control, the boy never did that, he started hitting the bed hard
“Tanjiro!” Gyuu exclaimed
Tanjiro looked at him, his eyes swollen with tears.
“I know, Tanjiro” the man took one of the boy's hands “I know what it's like to lose everything you have, I've lost it twice myself, I lost my whole world, and it's all my fault”
Tanjiro wiped his eyes “and what did you do?”
“I didn’t let myself forget who I always loved. I haven’t forgotten the sister who protected me” he pointed to the red part of his clothes “and I haven’t forgotten the friend who saved me” he pointed to another part of the clothes, which had colorful patterns
“Do you visit the place of their death?”
“Every day I can, but I'm careful, so I don't fall and hurt myself, like you.”
Tanjiro chuckled, then Gyuu laughed too.
“Thank you, Mr. Tomioka” Tanjiro lowered his head smiling
“I'll always be here for you, boy” Gyuu rubbed a hand on the boy's head, ruffling his hair “it's okay to be sad sometimes, right?”
"Right"
Gyuu got up
“Sir, one last thing”
The man turned around “yes?”
“Could you see what Miss Aoi is cooking? It smells soooo good” Tanjiro smiled
Gyuu was surprised by the boy's good mood and started laughing. Tanjiro had never seen Gyuu laugh so much, and he thought it was one of the best sights he had ever seen.
Yes, Gyuu was like a teacher to Tanjiro, but they were great friends, because their lives were never that different, right?
❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜❤️🧡
Thanks for reading 💛💛
You said something about Sanemi and Genya being perfect narratives for Kokushibo and Yoriichi and the Kamado siblings. I understand the Kamados but care to elaborate about the Kokushibo and Yoriichi one?
Yes I do care too! I’ll try to explain this as best as I can but I have a few different ways I look at the Shinazugawa’s and Tsugikuni’s and their narratives, so.
Kokushibou & Sanemi; two old brothers who were tasked with looking after their younger brother and eventually leading themselves to being cruel to said brothers, Sanemi hides his affection and love behind his vile words and faux hatred of Genya, but still keeps tabs on the boy and thinks to himself his only purpose is protecting Genya. Kokushibou becomes jealous and spiteful and declares he hates Yoriichi which might be true to some extent, but he still cries for his brother and keeps the flute for all those years upon his death, still weakly trying to convince himself and Yoriichi that he hates him (“stop it I hate you” as he thinks of child Yoriichi with the flute.)
Both of these older brothers use hatred, anger, jealously, cruelty to push away their younger brothers despite at the end their display of hatred crumbles away like ash (hah) and their true feelings are revealed, while Kokushibou is much more subtle and possibly up to the reader’s opinion, unlike Sanemi’s, it’s still very there in my opinion.
Yoriichi & Genya: these two are much more straightforward in their narratives methinks, two younger brothers who look at their older brother as if they hung the stars for them. Who remain so wholly good in their lives and display a rare type of genuine kindness, Genya may have strayed from his gentle nature (which he is described at regaining fyi) but with the help of trauma bonding with Tanjirou and Gyomei’s gentle guiding hands he is able to return to it when he could have continued to be so angry and hurtful from having been abandoned, watching his family he slaughtered and safe to assume growing up homeless after Sanemi left him all those years ago, that hardens a person and yet he becomes kind again.
Similarly Yoriichi easily could have been as hurtful and zealous as Kokushibou, he was the child who was born with a “curse” and who was almost killed at birth and was meant to be sent away once of age, he was kicked out of the very organization he helped form by being open minded with a demon and listening to her story, deciding to spare her, and after almost killing Muzan himself.
And yet he remains kind of enough to leave for his BROTHERS sake, to be kind enough that animals flock to him, to be kind enough to fetch a midwife for Tanjirou’s ancestor and pass on his sun breathing moves in the form of a dance to them.
And they are both the reasons for their big brothers falling, for sanemi his ways of fear and anger crumbles away as genya does and for kokushibou, kokushibou finally dies and makes way for michikatsu to see what he has done and become.
Now this one is my favorite, and something I wished the manga could have done.
Kokushibou & Genya; two brothers who were undeniably less talented than their other brother, and yet still found means of being powerful and strong (moon breathing/demon consumption, you can’t tell me that isn’t op asf) and while Kokushibou becomes jealous and angry, Genya still remains kind and loving, even as sanemi nearly pokes his eyes out he still doesn’t blame him and outright defends him from zenitsu, in a way, Genya is what Kokushibou could have been, a loving brother who seeks to help protect his brother and cherish him. And this part is me daydreaming a bit but it would have been fantastic and a moment of character growth on Genya’s part for Kokushibou to take notice of him and notice of genya and Sanemi’s similarities and try to recruit him to the demons by relating with being a brother who was/is less powerful/meaningful than the next brother and Genya saying no I’d never be like you and trade my love for my brother for power.
So that is just kind of how I view each sets of brothers, maybe narratives isn’t the best words but I have spent so much time thinking about them and how they are similar because they’re both my favorite set of siblings in kny and to me the Tsugikuni’s could have easily been the Shinazugawa’s and vice versa. Probably not the best explanation out there but I hope you get what I was gunning for here.
nightmares
Tumblr media
☾ - pairing: tanjiro kamado x reader ☾ - word count: 1.2k+ ☾ - summary: tanjiro is often prone to nightmares about his past, and you want to make sure that he never has to go through them alone.
Tumblr media
It was the nightmares again.
You knew the second that you felt him shift beside you that he was being haunted by his past as he tried, and failed, to rest peacefully. It was the third time this week and, while it was a fairly regular occurrence, that didn’t make it any easier for him or you.
When he was awake, Tanjiro was well-composed. You knew there was a thick layer of pain and trauma simmering beneath his kind and caring persona, but he never actively spoke about it. Reliving it was too hard, and you would never ask him to open that door if he wasn’t sure that he could shut it on his own without causing more anguish for himself.
However, once his eyes were closed, he had no control over the scenes that played out in his mind.
When you turned to look at him, your chest tightened at the sight of sweat beading across his brow, and the creases on his forehead deepened as a frown turned down the corners of his lips. His head jerked to the side away from you, and you could see his lips moving faintly though his eyes were still shut tight. You couldn’t hear what he was saying, but you had seen this play out enough times to know that he was murmuring the names of his siblings.
It was always the same.
You watched for a moment as his frown deepened and his movements became more frantic as he whimpered. You sat up onto your arm, your other hand poised to rest on top of his head, your fingers gently pushing through his hair. You didn’t want to startle him, but you couldn’t allow him to continue to fight through this horrendous memory on his own. While it was just a nightmare now, it had been reality not that long ago. Your heart throbbed at the thought.
“Takeo… Hanako… Shigeru… Rokuta…”
Tanjiro’s broken voice brought about a wave of nausea in your stomach and your fingers twisted around the dark red strands of hair as you gently called out his own name.
“Tanjiro… Tanjiro, my love, it’s time to wake up.”
You were afraid of the pain laced in your words, and you had to take a steadying breath as he continued calling out for his siblings. You could only imagine the horrors that lay deep inside his mind, and all you wanted to do was save him. You wanted to reach into his mind and pull out the bad parts so he would only be left with the memories that made him smile. No one, especially not your sweet Tanjiro, should have to endure this unconscious form of torture.
When he didn’t stir at the sound of his name, you slowly leaned down to press your lips against his forehead, your eyes squeezing shut at the sounds his continued cries and whimpers. Whatever he was going through, in his mind, he was alone. And that always broke your heart the most.
Finally, after a few more agonizing seconds, a loud gasp sounded from Tanjiro’s lips and his eyes flew open as if he had been shocked awake by some unseen source. Ruby irises searched his surroundings, and you pulled back just enough so that you could meet his bleary gaze.
“You’re alright. Everything’s alright. It was just a nightmare.”
There was a long, heavy moment where confusion filled Tanjiro’s eyes, and you knew that he was disoriented. It was the same every time, and while your heart ached in those moments he didn’t recognize you, it was always short-lived and he was soon reaching out his hand for you, his palm pressing against your cheek in an attempt to ground himself to reality.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, the same words still as broken and guilty as they always were. “I didn’t mean to worry you.”
The last thing you ever wanted was to make him feel even worse, and so after placing another quick kiss to his forehead, you moved to lay back down next to him and the hand that had been softly carding through his hair now moved down to the side of his neck. He turned his head to face you, and the sadness in his eyes as he tried to muster a reassuring smile caused you to frown.
“You have nothing to apologize for,” you whispered as your eyes traced his features in the low moonlight that was filtering in through the window. “Did you want to talk about it?”
As expected, Tanjiro quickly shook his head, and you nodded in understanding. You didn’t feel insulted that he didn’t want to share his feelings about this particular incident with you, and instead, you turned your focus back to helping him relax. His body was still taught and rigid from his nightmare, and even when he turned onto his side so that he could pull you closer, you could still feel that tension in every muscle in his body.
Without another word, your hand on his neck slipped down between his shoulders as your fingertips kneaded the muscles in his upper back and shoulders. A soft sigh slipped from Tanjiro’s lips as his eyes fluttered shut, and the fake smile on his lips slowly morphed into a smaller, more genuine one. Your ministrations continued as they slid down his back as far as your arm could reach, and once you had massaged every bit of skin that you could access, Tanjiro was reaching for your hand and lacing your fingers with his.
“I appreciate you, you know,” he said softly, his eyes still closed as you watched his mouth slowly form the words around the smile that still hadn’t faded away. “I’m really glad you’re here and that I don’t have to get through these nights alone anymore.”
Only at the end of his sentence did he finally open his eyes again, and your breath caught in your throat at the love that was found staring back at you. You were always taken aback at how well he could express his feelings when he wanted to, and you hoped that, in the end, he understood just how much his words meant to you.
“As far as I’m concerned, you never have to be alone again. I’ll make sure of it,” you replied, quiet yet confident, and Tanjiro hummed in agreement as he pulled you closer, his head now resting against the top of yours. You could feel his hot breath in your hair, and it wasn’t long before his breathing was evening out and you knew that he had fallen asleep once more. This time, his sleep would only be filled with pleasant dreams- ones of the two of you living out the rest of your days together in a quieter, more peaceful world.
Maybe the dreams were a little too much to hope for in the reality of your current world, but you were in his arms at the moment, and taking it a day at a time is all either of you really could do. And as you pressed your cheek against his chest and snuggled up closer, you knew that was more than enough.
“Tahahahhanjiro, dohohohohn’t!” Takeo squealed as he twisted and turned beneath his brother, slapping at his hands weakly. “Sthahahap tihiiihihckling mehehehhe!”
“Are you gonna be nicer to Hanako?” Tanjiro asked, grinning when Takeo nodded vehemently. Finally satisfied, he stood back as his brother collapsed, gasping for breath. “There- now; be nice.”
“Shehehee started it!” Takeo grunted with a weak glare, letting his brother help him up. “Why do you always take her side?”
“I don’t. The other day I got her for giving you a hard time. I’m just balancing out the scales.” Tanjiro hugged his brother, ruffling his hair. “I love all of you equally- and I’ll gladly tickle you all just as so.” He gave his brother’s ribs a scratch, making him squeak and duck away.
“One day we’ll get you!” Takeo declared as he stood, pointing determinedly at Tanjiro. “We’ll get you back for all the tickle attacks!”
“Sure you will.” Tanjiro puffed out his chest, raising his chin gleefully as he wiggled his fingers. “I’m the best tickler of all the Kamados! No one can stop me!”
“Oh? Are you sure about that?” Nezuko’s teasing voice called out from the back, Shingeru and Hanako smiling on either side of her when Tanjiro turned around. “Last time I checked, I’m the best tickler in the Kamado family.” Her eyes danced with playful challenge, making her family giggle. “Are you sure you want to keep that title, brother?”
Tanjiro weighed his options. It was true Nezuko could be rather relentless; but in their own tickle fights he’s had his fair share of wins against her. “I would, actually.”
“Ooooooooh.” The younger siblings gasped, smiling behind their sleeves as they waited for their sister’s response. Nezuko made a show of rolling up her sleeves, eyes dancing.
“You’re brave, brother. Very brave. But completely reckless.” Nezuko grinned before gesturing Takeo over, gathering all their younger siblings and whispering to them. Tanjiro watched their little huddle fondly, mentally preparing for all the chaos coming his way.
“Prepare yourself!” Nezuko didn’t hesitate, immediately charging at her older brother with the intention of winning. Tanjiro, having years of practice, was prepared. As she came into arms length, he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her down, fingers finding the ticklish spot just beneath her ribs. “Ah! Nohohoohohohoho waiihihihihiit!” She squealed, crumbling instantly.
“What was that about being the best tickler of the Kamados?” He teased, grinning when she tried to swat at him.
“Kihihihihihids, gehehehehet him!” She cried through her giggles, the swatting turning into a wave as she called upon their siblings.
“Here we come!” Hanako led the pack, running towards her brother and hugging him around the shoulders. Takeo let out a roar as he grabbed an arm while Shingeru grabbed a leg, giggling softly.
“Ha! You guys really think you can take me?” Tanjiro teased as he twisted around, grabbing Hanako and giving her sides a squeeze, making her squeal.
“Nohohohoohoho! Sahahahahhave mehehehehehe!” She cried.
“Hang on Hana-Gah nohhohohot agahhahahahahin!” Takeo yelped when Tanjiro got both of them, pulling them into his lap as he scribbled into their bellies. “No fahahhahahahir!”
“Yes fair! You two wanted to play, so let’s play!” Tanjiro grinned cheekily, reaching out a hand and giving Shingeru’s neck a wiggle, making him duck away and laugh. “Get ready!”
“Gotcha now!” Nezuko shot to her feet, sliding behind him like an athlete as she squeezed his sides, making Tanjiro yelp. He twisted around to get her back, but that only left him open for more tickles from the others.
Recovering quickly, Hanako hugged his middle, her small hands clawing at his belly the way he did to her. “Take this!” She giggled, grinning when he started to laugh. “We can do it! Tickle him!”
“Obviously!” Takeo grunted as he maneuvered around jerking elbows, pushing one up so he could go for his brother’s armpit. “Looks like I found a good spot!”
“Ah! Nohohohoho! Wahhahait no hold ohohohoohohohn!” Tanjiro squirmed, trying his best to fight back. It wasn’t long before he was overpowered, falling to his side as the three poked and prodded every spot on him. “Ehehehehehehehehhe! Shhihihihiihihngeru! Hehehehehehelp mehehehehehe!” He cried, reaching for his brother weakly.
“Hm…nope.” He decided, grinning at the other. “This is what you get, big bro.”
“Trahahhahahahahihihiihihihitor!” Tanjiro cackled, sinking further when Nezuko’s nails found his upper ribs. “Geahahhahahhaahha, not theehehehhehehre!”
“He’s way more ticklish than all of us!” Hanako giggled, delighted.
“To think we’ve been letting him win all this time?” Takeo sounded almost disappointed.
“Now now, don’t fret- he’s quite the beast.” Nezuko grinned, giggling when Tanjiro squealed. “You just gotta find the right spot to disarm him! Like…here!” She reached around and dug into the left side of his belly, making him shriek. “See? Instant defeat!”
“GUUHUUHUHUHUHUHUYS!” Despite how loud he laughed, Tanjiro did in fact give up. He no longer squirmed, opting to just curl up and laugh. His cheeks were bright red with mirth, eyes squeezed shut as tears threatened to spill. “I GIIHIHIIHIHIVE!”
“Okay!” Nezuko and the others immediately retracted, watching him gasp for breath. “Still think you’re the best tickler in all the Kamado family?”
“Heheheck yeah…You just cahauaght me ohohohff guahahahrd.” Tanjiro gasped, making his siblings laugh.
Just then, Rokuta shuffled in, rubbing his eyes as he yawned. “What happened?” He breathed, still waking up.
“Roku! Good morning.” Nezuko stood and shuffled to her brother, gathering him up with a kiss to the forehead. Hanako and Takeo joined her soon after, beginning to bicker about something new while Shingeku crawled over, petting Tanjiro’s head. “Are you okay, Tanji?”
Tanjiro smiled, reaching up and squeezing his hand gently. “Never been better.”
I hope this was good!
Why? [ Kamado Siblings ]
Tumblr media
Samrsgyi note: Hope everything's okay with you guys, but just imagine nezuko and tanjiro with a suicidal reader can you imagine 😰
Tanjiro x Nezuko x Suicidal! Reader
( Shinobu is mentioned )
Reader is 13 years old
Warnings ⚠️: Angst, hurt/comfort, mentions of suicide, fluff at the end
Summary: Y/N feels numb from rengoku's death knowing that she now suffers from PTSD and anxiety. The Kamado siblings are worried about them and try to figure out a solution to help them calm down and make it through with some comfort.
( Nezuko can speak in this one but it's not an au!!! )
Enjoy🫀!!!
It was just like any other regular day. You had lost the sparks in your eyes since rengoku's death. You never wanted this to happen, you wanted him to live but I guess that was all a lie. You headed into the butterfly mansion to go into one of the beds and snuggle up with the blanket covering you. Your eyes filled up with water and started pouring out of them. Today you were supposed to help Aoi with folding the sheets but you were too sad to. Tanjiro was outside training for the final selection while Nezuko was just sleeping in the box. Nezuko was sleeping until something interrupted her nap. It was something that sounded like soft cries and short gasps. Nezuko got out of her box and saw you snuggled up in the bed and crawled over to you. She sat on the bed and poked you. You got startled and realized it was only Nezuko.
" Oh hi Nezuko-chan, you okay ?"
" Mhm "
" That's great."
You smiled with tears still rolling down your face and you slightly starting to calm down and keep your composure. Nezuko looked confused and hugged you. You put your hand on her head and held her close so that she wouldn't go.
" Are you ok y/n, you're...crying "
You paused for a moment and remembered seeing rengoku covered in blood. It scared you so bad that you could fully imagine it happening to any of your friends or the rest of hashira. You finally found your voice
" I'm fine it's just y'know allergies got me. "
"...Are you sure? It doesn't look like allergies to me at all."
" I-I-I...I'm just feeling a little numb from rengoku's death."
" Oh..."
Nezuko felt bad for you because usually she had dealt with her brother going through emotional numbing and bad memories but, never you. She leaned in to give you one more hug and you held her tightly making sure to loosen your grip a little bit making sure she doesn't leave. You don't wanna have to lose her as well nor anybody at all. You were gonna make sure it never happened. Soon as then you heard footsteps from inside you looked to see who it was when you were still hugging Nezuko. It was tanjiro. He looked at you and saw you crying and a sad smile went on his face and he rushed to you to give you a hug. He hugged you tight knowing that you needed comfort.
" Y/N are you ok, is something wrong?"
" I um...just sad about rengoku's death."
Tanjiro paused realizing what you had said and almost lost his spark remembering rengoku's death and wanting to cry but, he held it back not wanting to be emotional right in front of you.
" Oh y/n...we're all upset about it. "
" IT'S JUST THAT-"
Y/N burst out in anger and sadness.
" HE COULD'VE LIVED AND WENT ON HAPPY ABOUT HIS LIFE TO SEE HIS FAMILY BUT, NO."
Y/N let out all the sadness and anger they had and realized what they had done. They finally decided to confess to them.
" I've...I've been, um, over-dosing on pills for the past couple of days and wanting to kill myself. "
Tanjiro and Nezuko were in shock and had replayed the words in their head over and over and over. Nezuko hugged you tighter and tanjiro's eyes started to swell up with water and hugged you as well as Nezuko had done. You started to cry.
" Y-Y/N, why didn't you tell me? I was worried something like this would've happened." Said tanjiro
" Y/N, please tell me you won't ever try to do those things to yourself ever, okay I can't lose you, please." Said Nezuko
Your eyes swelled up with even more tears and you cried in agony and pain wishing his death didn't happen. Once you stopped crying, You, Nezuko and Tanjiro had all snuggled up on the bed making sure none of you ever got loose from each others grip. Once then, shinobu came in and saw all of you snuggled on the bed. She took the blanket and covered it on all of you making sure not to wake you guys up. You all snuggled as the sunlight shone through the window.
End
( I almost cried while writing this )
Fuck. | {TanZen/NezuZen}
Tumblr media
Theme: ANGST
Note: Basically Zenitsu x the Kamado siblings
Bc why not  but it can be taken platonically iyw
Too lazy to find a pic w/ all three of them
TW: death
this went way longer than intended (and kinda went off course-)
×××
"Nezukooo!" Tanjiro said, pulling Zenitsu's hand as he walked through the dense forest. He wasn't in the best condition so his sense of smell was faltering, making him unsure of himself and where he was going. Zenitsu was whining about how hard the mission had been, which wasn't very helpful. "Nezuko! Where are youu!"
Nezuko had run off to protect what was left of the people a while ago and hadn't come back yet, much to Tanjiro and Zenitsu's concern—Inosuke had a solo mission somewhere else. And so now they wandered about in the vague direction of where she'd been, going off only by where the smell of blood was strongest.
Eventually, Tanjiro spotted Nezuko up ahead, standing behind a large bush.
"I found her!" Tanjiro said, tugging on Zenitsu who hesitantly followed him towards Nezuko.
"Hey, Nezuko, are you alright?" Tanjiro fretted, moving the bush aside.
She was covered in blood, still turned around, and was frozen.
"Nezuko?"
Zenitsu looked over Tanjiro's shoulder. "Nezuko?" he repeated.
Nezuko turned shakily, her eyes flicking from Tanjiro to Zenitsu and down to her hands. Her bamboo had been cast aside at one point. There was something off about her, besides her strange actions, and it took Tanjiro a second to place it. But when he did, he stumbled backwards, nearly falling against Zenitsu.
"Fuck," he mumbled. It was the first time he'd ever sworn, and Zenitsu flinched, holdig Tanjiro up as his eyes took in the scene displayed in front of him.
Nezuko's mouth had blood in and on it, the dark red staining her face. And it wasn't her own. There were people at her feet, but if they had died because of her or a demon, it no longer was important. What was was that she had eaten one. And there was no turning back now.
Zenitsu, who had come to the conclusion, had gone silent, gripping tightly onto Tanjiro's haori.
"What're you going to do?" he whispered, hiding behind him.
"I..." Tanjiro bit his lip, remembering what Urokodaki had told him. If she ever ate a human, he was to kill her and then himself. He unsheathed his katana swiftly, holding it tightly in his hands in front of him, gripping onto the handle tightly to stop the shaking of his arms. "I have to kill her."
Zenitsu sucked in his breath. "What?! But..." he started, his voice trailing off. But what?! There were no 'but's'. It was too late.
Nezuko backed away slightly, the katana pointed at her. She dropped her hands to the side, the crazed look in her eye seemingly falling apart, defeat replacing her features.
"I'm sorry," Tanjiro murmured. "But I have to do this, Nezuko."
Nezuko's eyes met his and they shared one final gaze before Tanjiro stepped forward, cutting her head off in one motion.
She toppled backwards as her body began to disintigrate.
Zenitsu burst into a fit of sobs, clutching onto Tanjiro as he re-sheathed his katana, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes.
"NEZUKOOO!!!" Zenitsu cried, dropping to his knees and collecting her bloodied kimono that had crumpled into itself as her body disappeared.
Tanjiro pursed his lips, willing himself not to cry. "Zenitsu."
Zenitsu turned at his name, tears still pouring down his cheeks.
"Huh..?"
"I need you to kill me, now," Tanjiro said quietly.
"WHAT?! NO!!! YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!" Zenitsu screamed.
"I did. I promised Nezuko wouldn't eat anyone. And if she were to, me, Urokodaki-sensei, and... Tomioka-San... would have to die with her," he murmured. He looked down. "Please."
"But... But-" Zenitsu tried, getting up and shaking Tanjiro by the shoulders. "I don't want you to die, too!!!"
"I'm... I'm sorry," Tanjiro said, his voice tense. "Would you rather I did it myself..?"
Zenitsu paused, then shook his head rapidly, harshly. "NO!! You'd have to... to suffer a lot, then," he said, hugging Tanjiro tightly. "Please no..."
Tanjiro nodded. "Then... do it for me?"
"I can't... I can't live with that," Zenitsu whispered.
"Please. I ask you to. I can die where Nezuko did, too," Tanjiro said quietly. "Please, Zenitsu. A crow will go to inform Giyuu-San and Urokodaki-sensei, you must make sure they know after I die. And take care of Inosuke for me, okay?"
Zenitsu shook his head again, tightening his grip around Tanjiro in his desperation. "You can't do anything else?? I don't... don't want you to die."
"Please," Tanjiro pleaded, the tears finally leaking from his eyes. They made a streak down his face, drawing down the dirt and blood that had gotten on him during his mission. He placed the box he used to hold Nezuko in on the ground and took off his haori, handing it to Zenitsu. "You can use my katana, if you want..."
Zenitsu's bottom lip trembled and he took the haori with shaking hands. "Tanjiro... Tanjiro, I can't do this, I can't..."
"If you have the chance to speak to Giyuu-San, tell him that I am sorry for causing him so much trouble," Tanijro interrupted, pressing his sheathed katana into Zenitsu's hands. "Do it now, Zenitsu. Please."
Zenitsu's hand closed tightly around the katana handle, letting the sheath fall to the ground. "I love you, Tanjiro," he murmured.
Tanjiro gave him a sad smile, stepping back to give Zenitsu more room. "I believe in you, Zenitsu. I believe you can do amazing things, do not let any of this affect you."
"...I can't promise that," Zenitsu whispered, dropping Tanjiro's haori on top of Nezuko's box and lifting the katana.
"Then promise me to just do your best," Tanjiro said, closing his eyes and standing still.
"I promise I will always love both you and Nezuko," Zenitsu said, after a beat. He didn't wait for a response, aiming carefully before shutting his eyes as the katana swung through the air, hitting its mark. There was the sound of the blade going through flesh, and then the toppling of Tanjiro's head.
Zenitsu willed himself not to open his eyes as he dropped the katana, grabbing blindly at the box and Tanjiro's haori, Nezuko's kimono. He turned and fled, opening his eyes as he ran, tears streaming down his cheeks.
God, what had he done...
A crow arrived to Giyuu with a message that would end his life. Literally.
"Tanjiro... What? Nezuko?" Giyuu asked the frantic crow, trying to keep up.
"Caw!! Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado are dead!! Nezuko Kamado has eaten a human!!" the crow squawked, flapping its wings in its panic.
Shock flashed through Giyuu's expression for a beat before he supressed it, letting out a breath. "I see." He would have to commit seppuku, then. "How did Tanjiro die? Did he kill himself?" Giyuu asked quietly. If so, Tanjiro died in great pain.
"No! No! Zenitsu Agatsuma beheaded him! Tanjiro ordered him to!" the crow said, looking saddened by the thought.
"Agats-? His friend?" Giyuu asked, frowning. That must've been...
"Yes!!" the crow said.
"Ah. Well, if you will excuse me," Giyuu murmured, "I must tell Master."
"He knows! He knows! He wants to call you and the other Hashira there!! You must arrive in an hour!" the crow informed him.
Giyuu glared at it. "You should've told me that first."
"...Apologies!!"
He sighed, turning towards his front door. "Very well."
×××
The Hashira had gathered in front of the porch of the Ubuyashiki Estate, quiet and unsure why they had been summoned for the third time that year to their Master's mansion—having already went through both of the biannual meetings that year.
Then, of course, they noticed Giyuu, who was, once again, seperated from the rest. He looked fidgetty today, though, his hands closing and opening upon his katana handle that potruded from his belt. As if he was itching to grab it, pull it out of it's sheath and...?
Kagaya arrived, finally, and the Hashira all dipped into a bow as one, several murmuring a greeting as he sat.
"Hello children. Now, as I'm sure many of you are wondering, I will explain. First, however, I must introduce to the ones of you who yet do not know him, Zenitsu," Kagaya said, waving a hand to his side where Zenitsu appeared, shuffling across the wooden floor, looking absolutely terrified.
"Eh?" Mitsuri said, tilting her head.
Zenitsu looked down. He looked a mess, as if he had been crying earlier but had rushed to try to appear fit to present himself, but failing.
"Is he okay?" Mitsuri asked, frowning.
Kagaya nodded. "He was at the scene, and got involved."
"Of what?" Sanemi asked.
Shinobu smacked his arm, glaring at him. "Let Master talk."
Kagaya waited a beat, before continuing. "Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado have died."
Zenitsu flinched.
"Of course they did," Sanemi hissed, under his breath.
"How so?" Kyojuro said curiously, eyeing Zenitsu. "And how did the boy get involved?"
Tengen was frowning, staring at Giyuu who seemed to have no reaction. "Tomioka. Did you know, already?" he asked, sensing no sort of shock from the man.
Giyuu nodded.
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "What, then?"
Zenitsu backed away slightly, feeling pressured.
Kagaya lifted a hand up, silencing the Hashira. "They have died because"—he paused—"Nezuko attacked a human."
A collective murmur rippled across the Hashira.
"I told you she was not to be trusted." Sanemi's voice was loud, gaining him a couple glares.
Kagaya sighed. "I am aware, Sanemi. And I apologize deeply for the inconveniences."
"May I ask something?" Gyomei said, after a moment.
"Yes, Gyomei."
"The consequences to her demonic actions were of death to several people, yes?" Gyomei said.
"Indeed," Kagaya agreed.
Giyuu looked down.
"So, Tomioka's dying?" Sanemi asked bluntly.
"I am," Giyuu murmured. "I was planning on doing it before I knew that the meeting was to transpire. The crow almost forgot to tell me."
"Ah, yes," Kagaya said quietly. "I am glad that he was able to convey you the information before then."
Zenitsu spoke up now, his voice shaky as the attention turned to him. "Uhm... Tomioka?"
Giyuu looked up.
"Uhm..." Zenitsu's voice faltered.
"Hurry up," Sanemi snapped.
Zenitsu flinched. Shinobu gave Sanemi a disapproving look.
"Tanjiro... he... He told me to tell you that... He told me before he died. Uhm. He told me that he was sorry for causing you so much trouble. I... He..." Zenitsu shook his head, backing into the shadowed part of the room.
"Oh." Giyuu blinked. "He didn't have to be sorry."
Sanemi scoffed. "He just lost us a Hashira, yes he did."
Giyuu frowned, but said nothing.
"Don't say that!" Zenitsu snapped, suddenly, as tears welled up in his eyes again. One of the Ubuyashiki children went to his side, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "Tanjiro died for Nezuko! He... he made... He went through with it and didn't hesitate, even after knowing what he had to do. He... He killed her and... and then..."
"Himself?" Sanemi guessed, raising an eyebrow.
"Sanemi..." Kagaya warned.
"Apologies," he murmured.
"No," Zenitsu whispered. "He told me to kill him."
Mitsuri gasped. "Oh no...!"
Zenitsu bit his lip. "He made me do it with his katana."
Sanemi went silent, no longer having anything to say.
Shinobu sighed. "Are you alright?" she asked quietly.
Zenitsu didn't answer, stumbling backwards and hitting the wall.
Kagaya frowned. "Children, take Zenitsu to Amane. She can help."
The children nodded, standing from either side of their father and hurrying to help Zenitsu leave.
"I'm afraid he will need some time," Kagaya murmured. "Ah, and to the topic of Giyuu."
Giyuu stood. "Yes, I'm aware what I—and Urokodaki-sen... Urokodaki—have to do. I can do it alone, Master."
Kagaya frowned. "Alone you would suffer."
"I'm aware," Giyuu repeated. "But I needn't burden anyone as Agatsuma had been with the guilt."
Kagaya gave him a smile, one with sorrow written between the lines. "Very well," he said quietly. "Will you not agree to any other arrangement?"
"No," Giyuu said.
"Then be it your way."
"What about the... 'Urokodaki?'" Tengen asked.
"A crow has been sent to him with the information," Kagaya informed him.
"I'll go to him," Giyuu said.
"Why?" Sanemi asked.
"So any pain isn't prolonged."
"You just offered yourself to be in pain," Sanemi said, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes."
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
×××
The meeting had ended and Giyuu left, heading to the mountains he'd told himself not to visit as they held memories he wished to not uncover.
As he ran, he found himself wondering how he actually felt about all of this. Yes, he was saddened by the thought of Tanjiro's death, but it had been inevitable as Nezuko had attacked a human. And then there was his own, and his past mentor's, soon-to-be deaths as well. He didn't know how to feel about it.
He arrived at Urokodaki's place and knocked.
The door opened and Urokodaki stared at Giyuu who was now just a bit taller than him, such a contrast to before.
"Hello," Giyuu murmured. "You got the crow?"
Urokodaki nodded slowly. "What have you come for?" he asked, opening the door and letting him in.
"I was going to make your death quick," Giyuu said quietly.
"And live with the fact that you killed me? It would be alright if I did it otherwise," Urokodaki murmured.
"I would be dying soon enough. It's alright," the younger man said, nodding slightly.
"Hm. Fair enough. But for you? How are you...?" Urokodaki asked, his question faltering.
"The other way," Giyuu replied, no sort of emotion written on his face.
"But-"
"Would you like to do anything before we go on with this?" he interrupted.
Urokodaki sighed. "I don't think so."
"Then... where?"
"Outside," he said, walking through the house to the back.
Giyuu followed him, memories resurfacing as he went through the familiar halls. They went out the back door to the clearing Giyuu and Sabito used to train in day after day before Final Selection.
"Here?" Giyuu asked.
"Yes," Urokodaki said, settling himself down in the middle.
Giyuu nodded, taking out his katana.
Urokodaki waited, his hands upon his lap as if he was not awaiting death.
Giyuu was quick, turning away as his mentor's head toppled down, his body lifeless now. He let out a shaky breath before heading around the house, moving quickly.
When he arrived home, he quickly put Kanzaburou—who had been on his shoulder—down onto the ground.
"Kanza," he murmured.
Kanzaburou tilted his head curiously. "Master? Master Giyuu?"
"Yes. You can fly now. Go off wherever you want, take care of yourself, okay?" Giyuu ordered, patting his crow's head.
"Wha? What?" Kanzaburou asked, confused.
"Don't question it. Just... go. I'll... see you soon," Giyuu whispered, petting Kanzaburou's feathers.
"Okay!" Kanzaburou squawked, lifting off into the sky. He hovered for a beat, his wings flapping furiously, and turned to stare at Giyuu. "See you later? Later?"
Giyuu nodded. "Later."
"Okay! Bye! See you later! Giyuu!" Kanzaburou said, flying off. Giyuu watched until he could no longer see him, then turned to his house.
He would do it in the back, as Urokodaki had done.
He walked inside his house, taking off his haori and folding it neatly. He placed it next to his futon, patting it gently. "I'll see you two soon," he said quietly.
He stood, walked to the back, and opened the door. He closed it behind him, stepping down onto the ground. He knelt upon the dirt and grass, unsheathing his katana. He took a moment before turning the blade in direction of his stomach, slashing twice in an X deeply.
Pain shot through his body and he doubled down, gritting his teeth in an attempt to stop himself from crying out. Warm blood poured upon his arms and legs, staining the ground red. Black spots sparked in his vision and he felt lightheaded. His eyes fluttered shut as he felt his conscious slip away.
This contains kny manga spoilers. Happy family pt 2!
Characters: Agatsuma Zenitsu, Agatsuma Nezuko, Tomioka Y/N, Tomioka Giyu
Guests: Saburo, Uzui household, Tanjiro Kamado, Kanao Kamado, hashibira Aoi
Summery: Years after Kibutsuji’s death, the surviving demon slayers start settling down. You, the oldest Kamado sibling get the news you might be an Aunt/Uncle!
Someone on Quotev politely requested I turn “happy family” into a series! They wish their Quotev username to remain anonymous. This is for you, you cutie!
▀▄▀▄▀▄ 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 ▄▀▄▀▄▀
You had decided to move in with your husband, Your little sister moved into your Minka.
Nezuko and Y/N decided that Tanjiro, as the legacy child and one with dads earrings should inherit your childhood home.
Everyone was very happy. You born/adopted your first child with your husband. You had retired from the corps and became a tailor again.
Nezuko decided to work with you, she had been talented with needlework since she was a child.
Tanjiro and Kanao went on to teach the less fortunate of the younger generation before settling down completely.
One morning Nezuko and Zenitsu stayed after cleaning up dinner. Nezuko told you she thinks she might be pregnant.
You started crying and so did zenitsu, Nezuko just held you both on the tatami tiles.
“I- *sniff* JUST… MY BABY SISTERS ALL GROWN UPPP!!”
The crying brought the attention of the entire Minka.
After crying or congratulating everyone scrambled to bless the house and the pregnancy, as pregnancy and childbirth was medically uncertain (at the time)
The seamstresses, spinners, tailors, and spouses of the Minka went overboard. Nezuko was like the daughter of the house after all.
Suma, Hina, Makio, and Tengen starting bringing hydrangea’s at the start of each month.
Tanjiro and you also cried every time one of you reminded the other that your baby sister isn’t a child anymore.
Kanao offered a good fortune garden using her knowledge on flowers. Nezuko, your child, Kanao and Aoi had a wonderful evening planting flowers and sowing seeds.
For the next hundred days after the child was born Saburo would come along to teach Zenitsu parenting for the future, just like he taught Giyu.
Saburo became a surrogate grandfather to the kids, and ended up adorably getting engaged to a widow of the Minka.
Tanjiro is the pushover, so if mom, dad, uncle Giyu, and Aunt/Uncle Y/n said no or to listen to mom.. guess who they’re going to?
Nezuko’s abacus is no longer her’s, but instead belongs to her mini me.
Sometimes you and your little sister would have “parent nights” where you make lighthearted jokes about parenthood over tea.
Zenitsu tried teaching the kid how to wield a katana, but unfortunately they just climbed a tree every time.
Nezuko and Zenitsu comically horrified every time they feel as if they’re becoming like Mom or Gramps.
“Don’t eat yet, it’s hot.” “Ow! Ah! Ha! Ha! Hot! Ha! Hot!” *sigh* “What did I just say?!” *realizing this happened with her mother and childhood self* “Oh dear goodness..”
This kid will have a great life, soon enough we will see the Agatsuma’s in modern day Tokyo.
I just finished chapter 204 and I cried. I noticed it skipped straight to Nezuko’s great grandchildren and I just had to console myself and slow down the timeline. WHY DID SHE HAVE TO GROW UP?!! 😭
I oddly felt motivated to write a little thing about father figure Ingo, so just take the hurt comfort thank you :)
Warning : some spoilers ? I guess ? It is after post game so-
Other warning : yeah there’s an oc, and lady Sneasler is being a bit creepy about it like- ma’am please calm down?? Let your human have a child and not a mate please ??
———
Ingo felt like they were both drifting more and more apart.
Before all that, him and another outsider, Snow, would battle quite often together. He always tried to help them afterwards, as they sure were good in therms of battling themselves, but not with Pokémon, and especially not without their twin sister. So, he always tried to give them advices, easy for them to understand as they didn’t even know before this whole ordeal what a Pokémon was (most importantly, what the hell in an animal ? What is a cat ??). Then, missions started to pile up, trying to protect as many people as possible during those mass outbreaks while Ingo was still stuck in Jubilife Village, occasionally leaving to pay noble Sneasler a visit, and then it turned into seeing them really quickly once a month.
Ingo was tired of this.
He has to admit that he had grown attached to the two weird outsiders, he felt a similarity in the way they would battle together, mimic poses, and overall..Being siblings.
Did he have a sibling before ? Did they battle like that too ? Is that why he feels so connected to the swordswomen ? In any way, now that they could barely see each other, it somehow took a toll on the Warden’s mood.
Until one day, they came back, the massive mass outbreaks in the Alabaster Icelands done, and the commander Kamado talking about other type of battles they could practice at the training ground, and Ingo was to supervise that.
He said yes, of course, and explained the rules. And with the new battles added, there was Path of Solitude. You fight with a single Pokémon, and that’s it.
Snow tried that, but of course that meant not having their usual Pokémon, and Ingo learned that it really made them on edge, but most importantly : no potions, no running away, and no Pokémon to emotionally support you.
And that was the worse for the brown-red haired in front of him, and also for the poor Zorua watching from the sidelines, almost forced to watch as everything goes down without even being able to help his human, and so he cried out, and that made everything just so much worse.
Eevee was the easiest win for them, then came Bidoof, it took them about 14 tries to finally beat his Eevee, and then Blissey… They never continued the path of solitude after that.
He watched them as they retracted the odd colored alpha Blissey in her pokeball, apologizing to her, lowering their head and gave a sigh. Their Zorua leaped on their shoulder as they made a small wave towards him as they left.
He was sure to see them a few hours later, with a stronger Pokémon, but…It just never happened.
Worried that something might’ve happened to them he asked around Jubilife villages for any news about them, and he found some.
“Snow ? Oh yeah, they returned to the Alabaster Icelands. You know that they mostly stay there right ?” Had answered the guard.
Again ? They didn’t stay a full day in Jubilife Village in so long, after defeating Arceus…
He nodded and thanked him, going back to the training grounds.
Zisu was the one to greet him, as usual.
“Hey ! Heard you were after the kid again ?” She teased.
“Miss Zisu, that sounds especially weird considering they are barely adult ! I cannot help but be worried about them is all !” The buff lady only laughed at his response.
“Hey calm down Warden, it was just a bit of teasing. You really act like a dad towards her sometimes, you are aware of that right ?”
The always frowning warden looked at the woman, confused. Did he act like a dad ? Really ? Sure he’s in his mid-forties, but still.
“I have never noticed Miss ! Oh, and please don’t call them “her”, they are not a girl after all !” He gently corrected, although his natural loud voice could be seen as a threat, which was thankfully not the case with Zisu as she is used to him and his loud voice.
“Okay, I’ll try to avoid that then. Although it’s weird to me as sh-THEY look and sound like a girl.” Ingo could understand that, since ,at that time, non-binaries and other queer people weren’t really known, but if he could change that just a little bit that would be amazing.
“And hey.” The softer tone the woman used definitely pulled him out of his thoughts. “I heard from Laventon that Snow wasn’t doing great at the moment. Their Pokemons kind of give it away : apparently their Typhlosion, Garchomp, Zoroark and Espeon are as aggressive as ever, especially the Zoroark but that’s just how the specie acts generally. Their Zorua and Lopunny are almost always by their side. Something might be troubling them.” The warden nodded. Snow always looked kind of haunted, even if they constantly wear a happy smile on their face, something just always… Seemed off. And the way they were acting in fights, twitching, panicking, basically not knowing what to do, their hand always ghosting the handle of their katana, wanting to fight the threat themselves…
“I see. Thank you for telling me about it. Would it be okay for you to take care of the training grounds on your own ? I also need to visit lady Sneasler in the highlands.”
The red haired woman waved her hands in dismissal.
“Sure go ahead, I’ll manage well on my own. Just bring them back safe, okay ?” The warden nodded once again, before parting.
His reunion with lady Sneasler always ended with him underneath a purring pile of baby sneasles, with the noble watching contently and not making any move to get him out of the situation. But after explaining the situation to her, she picked him up, put him in her basket, and ran off to the Icelands. Yes, Lady Sneasler really likes her brown and red weird furless baby. (who could also be a potential mate to her human because he’s lonely..But the typhlosion does not agree at all !! She’s a noble, shouldn’t he just obey ? Yet he doesn’t ! Saying that this is not what his human wants or something like that.)
It didn’t take much time after arriving to the Iceland to find Snow, the vibrant colors of their haori being seen from miles away.
Without even thinking, he sprinted over them.
“Mx ! Are you alright ?!” He shouted, getting the attention from the nearby Aipoms and Bunearies, the latter running away.
Orange eyes turned towards him with a confused smile.
“Why, yes ? Did you think I was in danger Warden ?” He caught his breathing and lightly grabbed their shoulder, panting.
“I was not talking about that.” He looked around, spotting a cave nearby.
“Let’s go somewhere safer first, before talking.” He didn’t even wait for an answer, he lightly grabbed their wrist and dragged them away, much to their discontent. (Neither noticing the Sneasler and typhlosion glaring daggers at each other.)
Once safe with a fire lit up, Ingo started talking.
“Mx.Snow. Please answer honestly. Are you okay ?”
The young adult in front of him smiled at him, looking confused, but with the way they were clenching the pants of their uniform…He knew they knew what he was talking about.
“I do not see-“
“Apologies for interrupting you, but I’m rather positive you know what I was referring to.”
They stilled for a moment, and looked down.
“It’s fine, it’s fine really, nothing to worry about. I’ll be fine at some point.”
At least he was getting somewhere…
“Mx..I want to help you, but it is up to you to know what you want or what you need. If you want to talk, I will listen, If you don’t want to talk about it, I will respect your choice, if you want to talk to someone in particular, I will call them.” He stopped talking for a short moment to look at the younger one, who was trying so hard not to cry, but made so obvious with their shiny eyes and red face. He really felt bad for not noticing their distress sooner. He hesitated a second before putting his hand on top of theirs.
“So, I’m here, what do you need ?” And that was apparently their breaking point. Tears started to flow down their face as they tried to hide it with their free hand.
“I-I deeply apologize Warden, I shouldn’t cry like that. C-Could you please give me a sh-quick second ?”
He did not answer, but he did come closer and opened his arm, an invitation for comfort. Something they obviously had little to no experience with. Seeing as they did not try to pull away, he gently pulled them to him, and kept them there, until he moved them ever so slightly so they were sitting more comfortably in his arms.
Even now, as they were sobbing in his coat, they were still trying to fight the tears.
“I-I really want to talk warden, but..I just feel so guilty for feeling this way !” He rubbed their back, inviting them to continue talking.
“I just-I just feel so selfish to feel this worthless when I’m not the only one suffering..Light, Rei and you are in the same situation..Yet I-I just…I just miss everything so much..I miss my best friend, my cat, the master, my successor, my students…everyone..I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see them again.”
Ingo only listened, not saying anything. He somewhat understands how that feels, as he holds no memories whatsoever about his life before Hisui, but he still felt that empty feeling somewhere, and he could not understand it. Staying here for about 10 years also helps quite a bit, while the three other outsiders were here for just a couple of months, not even a year. You grow around that feeling, and it doesn’t feel as overwhelming as before after a while.
“You are not selfish Snow. Feeling like this is normal.” He couldn’t bring himself to say anything else, he didn’t know if that was something they needed to hear or not, but he was saying just what he was thinking.
“And I think..That you were strong for too long. You are an admirable person. I’m proud of you.”
Somehow, that just made the sobbing worse. But that was fine now, he could finally concentrate on cheering them up, and offering them as much comfort as he could, and as they needed.
“By the way, I was meaning to ask, why were you panicking during the battles ?”
“I felt like I was torturing the poor Pokemons, and Tsukichi wasn’t there to tell me otherwise..”
Oh right, that Espeon of theirs, who also doubles as a very strong opponent and as an emotional support !
“I see..
.
.
.
Yet you’ve killed Glalies.”
“I hate Glalies.”
Later that day, he brought them back safely to the village, and offered them a small odd colored Zorua since they spent weeks looking for one, and the Path of solitude was now off limit to Snow, in order to not worsen their mental health.
Maybe Zisu was right, maybe he did act like a father, but not all the time right ? Meanwhile, Snow gained a new father figure, and don’t know how to deal with that.
Small bonus :
Lady Sneasler : Aww look ! Wouldn’t they be the perfect match ?? 😍
Typhlosion :….Just what in the hell are you on ?
*insert epic Pokémon battle with Ingo and Snow trying to stop them*
Lucky Hit AU
The first few days
---
'This is torture.'
'This is torture, but it is deserved.'
His mind has been numb since it happened. Days come and go. He can't get that man's face out of his mind. Giyu Tomioka. He had a whole life ahead of him.
And Tanjiro had taken that.
He could feel how they looked at him. The hatred. The curiosity. That Giyu guy? He was meant to be strong. He fought among the strongest against the strongest. Tanjiro killed him. A boy who was once a peaceful soul. Now he wasn't even sure he had a soul.
They separated him from Nezuko. The butterfly girls assured him she would be safe and they'd train her. They'd take care of her. The older one seemed to really mean it.
She'd also convinced the flame-haired man to train him. Kyojuro Rengoku. This man had constant blank eyes and used the same loud voice almost all the time. He pushed Tanjiro to the brink and then further. If Tanjiro died he would have just kept going.
His apprentice - no, Tsukugo - Mitsuri Kanroji was much nicer. While she seemed to think Tanjiro should have been killed for his actions, she helped him.
She taught him how to soothe his muscles and corrected his technique.
One night she'd heard him sobbing and come to investigate. Upon hearing her come closer he stiffened, turning to face her with tears streaming down his cheeks. "I-I'm sorry.." he started "..did I wake you?"
"No, you didn't. Why are you crying, Kamado?" Her voice was gentle. She knew Rengoku pushed him hard.. but that couldn't he the source of his tears, could it?
She must have done something, because he started crying again. Blubbering. His face was a mess. Tanjiro was trying to speak, trying to explain something.. but she couldn't make out all the words.
"Didn't mean to,"
"I'm sorry,"
"Nezuko,"
"Lucky hit,"
It took a moment, but Mitsuri realised. Giyu. Tanjiro was apologising to Giyu, feeling haunted by him. He hadn't known the man and hadn't said any form of goodbye.. so he had been holding that guilt close to his heart. It had only been a few days but it was breaking the poor boy.
She spent that night sat with him, listening as he cried to her about everything that had happened that fateful day. Her heart shattered for the poor boy. His family had all died and his sister became a demon - not that he knew that. He was just trying to be a good brother. She understood now why Kanae pushed so hard for Giyu's final request.
Tanjiro was just an older sibling looking out for his little sibling. Like Rengoku and his brother. Kanae and her sisters. Sanemi- oh, no. Not Sanemi.
All of the hashira have wanted to protect someone.
That's all Tanjiro was doing.
She hugged him until he cried himself to sleep against her. His sleep doesn't seem peaceful, either..
'From now on, I need to help him more..' she thinks.
hii! IM SO HAPPY YOU ENJOYED THE POST! all your request are appreciated so i dont mind taking more of your request! :D i see you dont have any chainsaw man request yet 👀 let me change that. may i request kobeni and makima x f!reader valintine headcanons? :0
Hi <3 Thank you sm for the Kamado siblings hcs, I loved them more than you can imagine! I hope you’ll like these hcs! Have an amazing day and take care of yourself!
Kobeni and Makima with f! Reader - Valentine’s Day headcanons
genre: fluff
fandom: Chainsaw Man
Kobeni
-Poor girl didn’t think she would make it to 21 given her current occupation, so you accepting to be her Valentine came like a full shock.
-Seriously she almost had an asthma attack when she heard you say the word “Yes”. When she also saw you smile so brightly and cute at her, Kobeni could only mentally say her prayers - she died and is in heaven now, isn’t she?
- After you snap her out of it, poor baby is whipped, following you around everywhere and unconsciously demanding all your comfort and love.
-I headcanon that she has social anxiety, so the best dating spot would be somewhere you two could be alone, maybe netflix and chill (and a home cooked meal ofc)
-Definitely your place. She’s already too nervous to be around you, imagine her bringing you home. Only the thought of her family’s teasing makes her want to curl up in a ball behind you.
-Makes you the best homemade chocolate you have ever eaten in your life.
-At the end of the night, when you kissed her, Kobeni turned beetroot red, only being able to muster incoherent words about you two leaving the Division together.
“We … leave…. It’s dangerous isn’t it? … What if … (*insert whimpers*) … Noooo, I can’t loose you…. (*insert more cries*)…. That’s it. Tomorrow…. we…. we leave.”
“Kobeni, honey, are you ok? what are you saying there?”
“K-Kobeni….honey”
-She definitely almost fainted from the excitement.
Makima
-You didn’t expect her to be your Valentine, nor that SHE was the one to ask you.
-But now again, who were you to deny Makima? (Especially when you are head-over-heels for her)
-I feel like she’d be the best Valentine out there: knows exactly what you want, even without you saying it, she’s the perfect amount of affectionate and caring without being overbearing for either of you.
-The date would probably start very calmly, Makima and you in a nice restaurant, very fancy, but also traditional in a way - definitely with a nice view over Tokyo.
-She’d bring you huge bouquets of flowers, but not the cheesy 100 roses, no. This kind of bouquet. In exchange, a small, meaningful set of jewellery would do it for her. (Let’s just say, Makima never took them off afterwards.)
“Help me tie the necklace, love. It’s beautiful really. How about your flowers, they’re your favourite, aren’t they?”
-Wouldn’t let you get drunk, but would allow a few shots. However, she seems unaffected by any of them, meanwhile you’re starting to get tipsy.
-Takes you to her penthouse afterwards to meet her dogs and then cuddle you. You’re hers now. You’re her heart.
- Now that you’re in Makima’s arms and it’s the middle of the night, you can’t help but melt at the way you feel her warm breath on your skin. You kinda fell for her a lot harder, if that’s even possible.
-You can’t wait to brag around the office for being her girlfriend. After all, everybody loves her, but her heart belongs to you the same way yours does to her.
sometimes i think about how tanjiro may be touch starved because his parents had to take care of his younger siblings and then he was away from home when his dad passed away so i like to think that he’s in a relationship with reader and she walks up to him one day and hugs him to her chest and he feels all warm inside because she hasn’t felt this comfort in years. and maybe it unlocks this side he didn’t know he had (clingy, cuddly tanjiro)
just a thought i had:) (you can elaborate on this if you’d like)
------
Touch Starved
------
Word Count: 0.1k
Warnings: None (?)
Characters: Kamado Tanjirou
------
Tanjirou hasn’t realized how much he loved and appreciated tactile comfort.
It’s been a long time since Tanjirou’s felt like he can let go – Nezuko depends on him; it’s hard to let go when so much is riding on you.
Having an S/O who is constantly by his side is one of the only good things he has. You’re always there, always eager to accept a hug or kiss from him.
But there’s always something different about receiving a hug.
The first time you approach Tanjirou and hug him because you want to, he melts in your grasp.
And then cries. But in a good sort of way.
He hasn’t felt this sort of comfort in years… yeah, Tanjirou can’t go back to his old life now, you’ve ruined him.
You’re not allowed to let go of him now.
Tanjirou will expect full-blown cuddle sessions and nothing less.
You’ll indulge him, won’t you?
Ingo adopted the protag and Melli, my headcanons
Ingo didn't adopted them they adopt themselves to him and he didn't mind it just confused about how and why, the village and clans already know this too so in big things for Melli in the clan and for Lucas/Dawn stuff for the village, and the kids goes to his.
Melli hand painting on Ingo's clothes, and Ingo def cried at it for it was so pretty.
Lucas/Dawn made him stuff for Ingo that helped him on his job, and fixed his hat.
Ingo likes cooking it reminds him of someone he can't remember, and he's gotten better too.
Lucas/Dawn and Melli def don't get along with each other, the fight six times a day but fuck with their sibling and you open a can of whoop ass.
Volo fucked with Melli in his god complex delusional state and Lucas/dawn didn't need a pokemon battle they wipes the floor with him and it wasn't until Ingo pulled their wild child away but did say as he left to attend to Melli "it would be ill advise to do it again, I might not be there to stop them." And nobody has seen volo in a while.
Ingo going to Cyllene and Adaman like it's a parent teacher meeting to hear his kids are up.
Lucas/dawn teach Melli present slang confusing everyone but it's fucking killing the little shits seeing Kamado repeating it
Melli made them necklaces as birthday gift after Lucas/Dawn told them about birthday stuff.
Melli and Lucas/Dawn suntanks are actually besties and will lay in a field of flowers while their partners fight over who had the last Berry or who's taking who's air. (My suntank is named sunflower I love her with all of my heart)
Ingo showed interest in Gaeric, the kids dapper him up and shoved him into the beefcake and watch their dad awkwardly flirt. They have to ask Paulina and Iscan for help because their dad is a bi disaster and Paulina and Iscan are like used to it by now with their clan leaders coming for advice.
Melli: I'm a adult so don't listen to the little shit on dating advice dad.
Lucas/Dawn: bitch I'll have you know I've shiny hunted and got my elite four member to date his lazy electric type user crush out, and I filled out their compatibility in Teen mag and their a 90%. I know what I'm doing.
Melli: your 15.
Lucas/Dawn: and defeated two crazy men, capture god twice in a great ball, and saved the world twice. Put some respect on my name loser.
Melli: dad can we exchange them for their ancestors? Their a lot nicer.
Melli was happy his sibling and dad went back into their timeline but was so sad he didn't leave his spot and lord pokemon for a month. Adaman however came around daily to keep him company and make sure he was okay.
Ingo was sad to lose both kids but Lucas/Dawn made a visit to unova after a certain electric model told them about their train conductors and they jumped into his arms and Emmett lost his shit finding out his brother was a father.
They both didn't find Melli's grave but made an alter fir him in which they both sit at frequently and talk as if he's there.
Melli made a stone carving in the now victory road for his sib to find, and they did and went to his alter and said: found that little message, glad sunny is doing fine but... Wait until I find celebi your going to eat worms asshole for ruining my shirt! /Affectionately (they do say the /a out loud btw)
Ingo didn't get Gaeric but he did get Wulfric and they are happily married, and no Ingo didn't get better at flirting Emmett and Lucas/Dawn felt pain and both walked passed Melli alter grumbling "lucky bastard"
Lucas/Dawn's mom is slightly worried about their kid being adopted by a man she didn't know, but their kid told her he helped them in the past and she signed it so now technically they have both a dad and and mom.
Also their mom is dating Cynthia and Ingo and the kid cringed at volo's damage.
Melli was then thrusted in present times due to a small green onion time travel fairy got tired of the champion trying to plead their case being "I want to kick his ass." And Emmett even more shocked.
Made it in time for the wedding and meeting of the twos new dad.
Melli: he looks like him doesn't he...
Lucas/Dawn: ancestor, dad has a type.
Melli: ice daddy.
Lucas/Dawn: ice daddy.
Melli also bully Barry when Barry showed interest in Lucas/Dawn, like as a little shit would.
Melli to his alter: we're really in it this time me.
The alter is down but Melli took the shit for his room and now the painting of him both the little one and the almost a full length body mirror size sit beautifully in people's faces.
Melli also gets adopted by their sibs mother and Cynthia, and he cringes seeing her after Volo.
Melli becomes a fashion designer after looking at Lucas/Dawn's outfit and saying he could do better, and he did.
Melli goes to the champions battles and boos them with a megaphone plugged to an Exploud and after the battle won and the champion told the person they did great and to try again when stronger and giving a handshake they book it climbing the walls of the arena and tackling their brother to the ground. Nobody knows how they climbed with barley a sweat up.
Ingo is weak for Sneasel and Weaviles that he raise one from a baby to be the powerhouse it is today.
Barry met with several scary people and Ingo after saying he's dating Lucas/Dawn and Emmett and Melli are the reasons he needs therapy now. (I traumatized a blonde for ya Cyn 😂)
Lucas/Dawn: can you stop scaring my boyfriend.
Them: no.
Ingo: he thinks I'm scary...
Them: no he knows you're a sweetheart.
Ingo: oh good... I was worried about the Weavile blooping was weird.
Them: he's precious.
Melli also gets with Grimsley and the feral uncle threatened death abound him and it wouldn't be pretty when his finish. Grown ass man feared for his life when the sibling came in. Interview went like.
Interviewer: so what's the famous Melli family like?
Grimsley: uncle is pretty feral but their kid sibling threatened to go back in time and kill off my ancestors so I don't exist. Haven't been the same after that one.
Interviewer: ....
Melli: you did not threatened my boyfriend with the death of his ancestors.
Lucas/Dawn: should be seen his face tho, pure fear.
Emmet: i should have gone that route, damn.
Ingo: apologize to him.
Them: yes dad/brother... Joy kill.
That's all I got now this is why we don't leave me with a fatherless kid and a loveable asshole.
