little astro observations i've made based on my little chart collection and experience 🎀

honestly i've observed this only in myself but you have a natural pull to people who's sun is the same sign as your 5th house, mine is in pisces and my bf, my best friend and my cat are all pisces, not to mention that 90% of my crushes have been pisces as well.

there is something about pisces and bunnies, they will either love bunnies (have tattoos of them, make art about them, be their favourite animal), own or have owned a bunny or they look like one, (my bf is all of the above).

in synastry a north node over a person's mars may indicate the north node person taking the mars person's virginity.

in synastry a person's moon in your 9th house may indicate they understand/feel/empathize with emotions in a different way from you due to where they come from and how they were culturally socialized, i have this with my bf and he comes from a north american individualist country where your emotions are your responsibility and other's are theirs and i come from a post communist country where you are responsible for everyone's emotions, and ppl live for other people.

in vedic astrology i am a hasta moon, claire nakti made a video on hasta nakshatra and describes hasta natives as "fairy pretty" and i have a pair of dragonfly fairy wings tattooed on my back, plus ive been told (before my tattoo) that i give off fairy vibes.

saturn ruled 3rd house makes you have to spend a lot of time in public transportation, for example you might live far from where you need to go, for me it used to take me 1 hour at least to get to some places, sometimes i'd have to wait an hour just to then spend on hour on the bus. just overall imposes patience for transportation

a lot of astro observation posts say that an aquarius 4th house makes you feel like u dont belong in your family or that you're the black sheep of the family, but i dont find that accurate at all, i feel like it makes the native the one to challenge family values, they may be the one to make their family change for humanitarian reasons

idk if this is a real technique already used by astrologers but i have a wholesign MC theory. in wholesign the midheaven can fall in the 9th/10th or 11th house. my theory is that wherever it falls is the way you get ahead in life, the way through which u become publicly known or get your career. If it falls in the 9th your career is owed to ur studies/travel, 10th your hard work/experience/reputation, 11th your connections/social media/friends.

i think i have the most literal astrological placements being passed down from your parents example. obviously placements dont always get passed down, my sister has none of their placements, but perhaps being the first child may have contributed to this since the first child is when parents still have their personality not yet influenced by parenthood. so my moon and my sun, which we know symbolize the parents amongst other things, are at the same degree and they sextile eachother exactly, which I think is an indicator that my parents are very harmonious together; they are still together and in love even now. furthermore, my moon and sun are the same signs of my parents' stelliums, i have a libra moon and my mom has a libra stellium, and my sun is in leo and my dad has a leo stellium.

sibling's ceres in your first is feeling like a parent to them, i constantly tell my sister she's my daughter, we even have an inside joke that i gave birth to her at 5, and my ceres is in her fourth, the house of motherhood so she definitely sees me as a parental figure.

me and my bf have eachother's jupiter in our 7th houses, besides being in a serious committed relationship, we want to start a business together. so i feel this is a great indicator for great partnership in both regards.

i feel like this is also a technique but i haven't really heard much about it, generational planets affect us through societal conditions/problems whereas personal planets affect us through personal problems. for example: let's go with two malefics, i have pluto in the first house which i feel would be very different from having let's say mars in the first house. the first house is amongst many things our appearance which i am insecure about. i have never in my life been told i am ugly, i am actually constantly told i am beautiful, and yet it does not click. it isn't through personal experiences that i have problems with my appearance but through consumption of society ideals. this is of course an oversimplification but you get what i mean.

chiron retrograde in natal changes our perception on trauma. me and my bf have the same chiron, his is retrograde while mine is not. he constantly says he is not traumatized, whereas i can tell i am. he 100% has traumas, the thing is that it's like he's left them behind? he just says it happened a long time ago so it's done. my observation is that retrogrades in your natal may make u leave things in the past or have a "it happened a long time ago it doesn't matter" attitude towards trauma. the thing is he acts like a non-traumatized person which is crazy to me.

i have a skin condition called dermatographia, also overall very dry itchy acne prone skin, i also have scars. here are a few placements that i have that i feel may be an indicator for skin conditions: mars ruled first house (traditional rulership) mars is inflamation and scarring, saturn in seventh saturn is dry and some people consider that libra(7th house) rules the skin, saturn opposite ascendant, saturn square venus i see venus as clear skin due to its aesthetical perfection.

saturn in 1st, especially conjunct ascendant indicates identity issues. borrowing elements of identity from people you admire, not feeling like you identify with the gender assigned at birth, not identifying with your birth name, etc.

having a libra 12th house can indicate traumatic female friendship. the 12th house is the house of hidden enemies, so you perceive these people as your friends, sometimes even best friends, so when they betray you it is very jarring and traumatic. having female friends that are jealous of you, female friends that pretend to like you, female friends that talk shit about you and even sometimes lie about u, friends that purposefully hide information from you, that want what you have, sometimes sabotaging what you have or trying to make u lose the thing they want, etc. this is a very difficult placement, because you love these people so much that you would've given up things, changed things or shared things with them if only they were honest with you. in the best of cases the friendship is real and full of love but you grow apart, and this is also painful because you can't control it.

venus square ascendant is people telling you they love you and you not believing them. just overall hardships around love and seeing yourself as loveable. double points when it also squares saturn making u think that if u are loved it's hard work or that people had to convince themselves to, that you're hard to love.

people with venus conjunct mars in first are stunning and have an androgynous vibe to them. sometimes this is visual, strong muscular body with graceful posture, but it can reflect in their personality, just strength imbued with vulnerability, people that surprise you, that are balanced.

taurus 6th house can indicate finding romantic partners in the workplace.

having a stellium in the 4th and no planets in the 10th, can indicate a strong connection to your mom and a disconnect from your dad, especially when the sun is in the opposite sign of your tenth house(in your 4th) feeling like your dad is not the way he should be.

He isn’t used to being hung up on anybody.

Jackson had been in a few relationships in his lifetime, and he’d slept around with plenty of people. Nobody had ever made him feel like this.

And Jackson isn’t the jealous type.

But he’s certainly jealous of Matthew Fucking Taylor.

She is with Matthew, and it looks so easy for her. No worries at all that he is the wrong person; no fears of any commitment between them.

As hastily planned as his impromptu proposal to her had been, he hadn’t minded the thought of her being pregnant, of them raising children together and getting married and being happy.

But he hadn’t ever felt that way about anybody. Lexie had probably been his most serious relationship, but he wasn’t sure if he’d ever considered marrying her, let alone having children. For the past few months, though, he has thought about a lifetime with April Kepner.

Not that he should. He is in a relationship, for fuck’s sake, but it keeps popping into his thoughts unannounced.

During surgery, he’ll imagine domestic scenes of them cooking dinner together. When he goes to bed, he imagines them dancing in their living room. As he drinks at the bar with Stephanie, he imagines April in an obnoxious wedding dress with an obnoxious wedding where they release butterflies and have personalized mints because it’s what she wants and he wants her to be happy.

It’s so fucking pathetic.

They weren’t even ever really together, but he loves her like he’d never loved anybody else.

Mark had once made him promise he’d tell somebody if he loved them, but all Jackson could think about was that April seemed to want Matthew. She didn’t ever second guess any of her feelings with the man. He was definitely more compatible with what she’d want out of a partner. They would have a nice, simple, tidy life. One that he couldn’t imagine April not enjoying.

Nothing had ever been simple between him and April, though. Their relationship had never developed past sex, and he isn’t even sure her feelings had gone past that, either. Sure, they’d been best friends, but he doubted that April ever thought about him at the end of an aisle or hoisting their child up on his shoulders.

And, really, he shouldn’t be thinking those things, either.

He has never let her go. He doesn’t know how, and he doesn’t even know if he wants to.

I know CC has a bit of the exaggerative troll in him, so Morgan could have been joking about that streak and been taken out of context or too seriously. Why I think/believe Morgan was serious is, thus far, what he and Wong (and others) have said about the series has been truthful even with exaggerative humor (the only one liable to change his version of events is CC.)

Furthermore, I can see CC wanting to tamper or fix with his actors or characters that early on-- sometimes major shifts or changes occur within season 1 or 2 as the show writers find their balance. And I don't fault him for being curious or even considering the change; but I do think it was unwise.

For example, I see a lot of AUs where Scully was a spy from the beginning before she fell in love with Mulder, etc. I think CC wanted to go that angle: irredeemable character finds she's made the wrong moral choices, and the "will-they-won't-they" has a definite "NO, they most certainly won't... will they?" as she morphs and turns into a better person. There were hints of that in the episode (though Pheobe always put her own selfishness first); and I could see CC writing an arc where Scully slowly transitions from the files while Phoebe slowly transitions in as she sees things she can't explain (the Fire guy, for example), starts to question her own choices, etc., and the rest is history.

Would it have been a good show? Personally, I say no because of how Phoebe and Mulder interacted in episode. But CC likes to try those branching out ideas (to lesser success most times); and I can see this being a beta version of his future ventures. :DDD

Am I off track? You tell me!

i just don't think it tracks with what ga has said about cc, and she's been consistent about it. and it would just be weird to me if he wanted to phase her out or fire her after fighting for her & she made him piper's godfather. i know she's crazy & seemingly forgiving but....

also maybe it's my personal hatred for phoebe & that actress, and that i think scully was always very obviously into the x files but it makes no sense at all 😭 especially if cc didn't want to commit to a relationship between the lead characters lol

hiiiii razorverse questions for u (sorry if these have been answered! tumblr isnt letting me search this update): 1) what is kestrelflight my specialist little guy doing? HOW is he doing? 2) whats mousewhisker up to. my second specialist little guy. po3 apprentice generation is literally my favorite

YAYYYYYYY THANK YOU!!!! i haven't said anything about either of those characters yet, so here we go!

Kestrelflight

-Unlike in canon, Barkface was unfortunately never around to train him- he died back during the forest destruction, succumbing to a combination of old age and sickness. The lack of a medic was a big contributor towards the WindClan Civil War. Mudclaw insisted on assigning a new medic, while Onewhisker insisted on waiting for a line to StarClan to be discovered so they could choose- and he also didn't want to force anyone into the position, even temporarily, so instead, Leafpaw spent a lot of time in WindClan as a temporary medic.

-MASSIVE point of contention. The cats were uncomfortable that he was once again letting a ThunderClan cat into a major position of power, while others insisted that they should appreciate Leafpaw's help when they had none. (This is also where LeafCrow starts here btw)

-It was only worse when they DIDN'T get an immediate sign, and yet no one was up to the task, so for a while WindClan just didn't have a medic. Leafpool eventually had to return after the scandal she committed with Crowfeather along with Cinderpelt's "death", and the clan was now vocally against letting another clan's medic help. But Onestar's fatal flaw is his stubbornness, and he was determined to keep his foot down and not turn back on his decision to wait for a sign. He was trying to keep his morals sooo bad.

-Finally though, they got Kestrelpaw, a young tom who had both the will and the signs to back him up. Poor guy had to deal with becoming an apprentice early at 4 moons though, they put him to work the instant he got the sign. They had StarClan be his mentor. Thankfully there were no serious epidemics or anything during his apprenticeship, but it was still a stressful time and he second-guessed his decision constantly.

-If this sounds familiar, it's because he's a parallel to Puddleshine. Kestrelflight is NOT pleased about being banned from helping the poor guy in AVoS- he knows EXACTLY what it's like in his position, except Puddle didn't even have a sign to back him up! He wanted to be a secondary mentor for the little guy, especially when the yellowcough epidemic nearly wiped out ShadowClan. He was PISSED about this.

-He actually starts off the series being a bit of a doormat, he's overly permissive and lets people walk all over him. Onestar doesn't like this and wants his medic to stand up for himself more because "we can't afford to show weakness" (Sire is projecting!). But after the debacle with Hollyleaf and Willowshine along with the dark forest, he becomes more cynical and less willing to deal with people's shit. Hence him breaking the embargo Onestar set as a "fuck you" to him specifically. (side note: since the Darktail plot is changed to not involve Onestar as much, the embargo plot may or may not stay. I do still plan to have him die in this arc though)

-He was close friends with Hollyleaf and Willowshine, though he definitely felt like a third wheel. He was aware of their relationship but never wanted to say anything out of fear of getting any of them in trouble. In fact, I'm thinking he helped hide Hollyleaf's pregnancy for the most part, though I'm not quite sure how. When Hollyleaf ran away, he was crushed and he tried to support Willowshine however he could, but she was very closed off after the incident and never stopped mourning the chance to know her kits, so he ended up losing her in a way too. It got somewhat better when Ivypaw was briefly a medic, but of course that didn't last.

-He actually had a crush on Jayfeather and was happy when he was briefly a medic, but it never really went anywhere sadly.

-Might hit him with the nby beam. Not sure yet though.

Mousewhisker

-In TNP, he's mostly handled the same as he is in canon! He's a kit that's accepted into ThunderClan with his family after he's in danger of being taken away and euthanized by the barn humans. I don't really have any additions to make there.

-I could be totally misremembering him, absolutely, but I always perceived him as a studious kid who seems like a goody two shoes, always giving an apple to the teacher and getting all As, and is sorta seen as stuffy for it, but in reality he loves to go behind people's backs and break the rules. He's got a sneaky streak! He spies on people a lot and he's no snitch- he'll help you sneak out of camp if he thinks he can get some fun out of it.

-Loves to "erm, actually-" people though. He's a teacher in the clan and he drives some of the apprentices crazy.

-He sneaks out consistently to meet with Minnowpaw/tail. The both of them decide to start training in the Dark Forest because they believe the DF cats' goal is to reform the code, and they want to remove the part that keeps them apart. This does not end well for them. Oops.

-Btw! I keep going back and forth on who the RiverClan three are, but I think I'm gonna shake up the family tree quite a bit here and make them Minnowtail, Beetlewhisker, and Rippletail. If canon doesn't care about their actual canon relationships and timelines then neither will I, these guys have the most material for me to work with so here we go. They're all Icewing's kits and after Rippletail's death, Minnow and Beetle and their mom all align with the Dark Forest, until Beetle also dies. Minnow is the sole survivor of her three.

-I'm not sure what Mousewhisker really does in the narrative himself, he's definitely just a supporting character to the RiverClan three's plots. I think the entire family is aware of him, and are actually cool with it and agree to try and get rid of the law so they can be together (Minnow and her sibs are also halfclan, Icewing has a leg in this too). Proto RiverClan family coup?

-He miiiight take Hazeltail's place death-wise, except he dies in the great battle instead of offscreen greencough. He fights for the clans, but ultimately gets killed trying to protect Minnowtail. Minnow may also be pregnant but idk who her kits will be. Poor girl goes THROUGH IT in The Last Hope.

Long time listener, first time caller.

YNA but ESH a little bit. Your condition unfortunately means you have to treat these situations a little bit differently than normal.

1. If Terry already agreed to something and was understanding and sympathetic of the situation then he should have kept his commitment.

2. No matter how messed up someone is or if they bring drama or if they’re just shitty and love to stir the pot… all of that aside - if a couple is engaged or married you HAVE to treat them as ONE person. There should be no invitation or plans where it’s assumed the other won’t be involved. If you’re not ready mentally to see both of them then you shouldn’t try to see the baby. No matter how much Rose guilt trips you.

3. You’re not going to want to hear this but you asked someone who is super non-confrontational. You need to have a serious conversation with Rose, and probably Terry and definitely Catherine about the actual depths of your mental anxiety condition. (I don’t expect the boomer to understand). You need to explain to them in detail how there are imbalances in the brain and how simple tasks like going to the mailbox make you feel like you could rip your hair out more easily. This needs to be approached like your future relationships with them depend on it and should be treated as something separate from this issue at hand. Even though they’ll be linked undoubtedly now. It sucks that they’re putting you in this position but it sounds like having their relationship in good standing is still important to you no matter how much they currently suck. Family is tricky and digging your heels in while waiting for an apology from people who don’t FULLY understand is probably the wrong move. You can revisit boundaries afterward if they’re still not respecting you.

You’re not the asshole here. You’ve done nothing wrong so far that I can tell. And although Terry and Catherine aren’t great people in general they do deserve to be treated as one person in situations like this. They’re engaged and have a child together. Yeah they could be understanding and empathetic with you, but even so, they have a right to be together in situations with their child. You and David handled this well to start. It was nice of David to ask Terry how he did around Christmas. There’s no harm in asking. But Terry and Catherine don’t seem like people who can be relied on to be super flexible and keep their word. If you want that side of the family to remain in your life in good standing unfortunately you’re probably going to have to “be the bigger man” in this situation. Explaining your situation calmly and directly to them might be just as hard as having Catherine over with Terry and the baby. But I know you can do it. If I’m in your shoes I’m probably reaching out to Catherine first with an apology. Not that you did anything wrong, but her feelings are probably hurt and from her perspective I get it. She likely does not fully understand your perspective at all. This is probably the fastest path to smoothing everything over with everyone. You probably regret asking me now 😂

How different would book 1 be if your MC were in a relationship when she started her intern year? Would she had still fallen for Ethan? Would it be during the same timeline or would it have taken more time? Would she end her relationship before crossing any lines? Or do you think it might take a line being crossed for her to end the relationship? How different would Miami, late nights working with Ethan, the Opera and the ethics trial would be?

I've been thinking about my response ever since I got the question. I also visualized an opening scene for a fic that would suit this scenario. I don't have the rest, so I'll answer what I can. (It's long, so you're warned -- 😬)

This is specifically for Cassie Valentine as I've developed her, rather than MC in general.

How different would book 1 be if your MC were in a relationship when she started her intern year?

The professional/hospital sections of book 1 would have been similar with slight variations in terms of background. The personal parts of book 1 would be very different.

Would she had still fallen for Ethan?

I often say that Ethan and Cassie are inevitable in every universe but one. But, the reality is that circumstances play a role in bringing two people together or keeping them apart.

In this scenario, it could go either way. However, it would also depend on the type of relationship Cassie was in: casual vs commitment.

If Cassie was in a serious and committed relationship, she wouldn't necessarily have seen Ethan as a potential love interest. He would have been Dr. Ramsey, attending and medical hero. She'd want to impress him and have him mentor her.

It would never occur to her to see him as anything else. She would be secure in her relationship and have no reason to think Ethan saw her as anything but an intern.

In this scenario, she and her boyfriend would have lived together. The person I have in mind would have been from her social circle and he would've split his time between Boston and DC because he could.

The two of them would also be a unit, and she'd have him as part of her support system in addition to her friends/fellow residents. Residency is tough. So, while she would not have lived with the Roomies, but they would still be her friends.

In my original hc, Cassie was often lonely in year one because of being away from home, falling for Ethan and knowing it wasn't possible. She tried to date, but nothing stuck because her schedule was intense. And a part of her pined for Ethan so that she didn't register interest from other men.

Conversely, if she was casually dating with no expectations of exclusivity, book 1 events would have transpired as we saw them. Cassie might try to balance dating with residency, but she'd make it clear that her work came first.

Here, she would have definitely noticed Ethan as an attractive man and not simply as Dr. Ramsey. One reason is that she would give herself permission to be attracted to him. So if it was a casual thing, she wouldn't necessarily see her attraction to Ethan as cheating. And she wouldn't be afraid to tell him how she felt.

Would it be during the same timeline or would it have taken more time?

Maybe their timing would sync up according to canon. Or maybe they realize much later that they're perfect for each other, if at all.

If she was in a committed relationship, it would have taken more time for them to come together. Ethan would probably be the one pining and telling himself it's impossible.

After her residency ends, she decides to stay in Boston and on the Diagnostics team. I can see their friendship eventually turning into something deeper because of how much they have in common. It's not that her other relationship is bad; it's just run its course and residency combined with fellowship changed her.

If Cassie was casually dating but not interested or serious about someone, I see them following canon, either mine or the original. But they would definitely be official after the poison attack. Moments like that remind them that life can be too short to not go after what you want.

Would she end her relationship before crossing any lines? Or do you think it might take a line being crossed for her to end the relationship?

Cassie takes commitment very seriously. She would definitely end a serious relationship before crossing any lines, and let time lapse before pursuing Ethan. It would be the respectful thing to do, and also gives her time to figure herself out.

In the casual dating scenario, it might take a line being crossed for her to end things with someone she'd been seeing on and off.

I can't remember if I saw this in a book or a TV show/movie: The main character breaks up with a guy she'd been seeing. It's not dramatic but he asks her if there's someone else.

She says there isn't anyone specific but rather the idea of someone, and she owed it to herself to reach for it even if it went nowhere. Cassie would be like that.

How different would Miami, late nights working with Ethan, the Opera and the ethics trial would be?

I'm going to answer this from the perspective of her being in a serious relationship. That's where things are more different than the casual dating scenario.

Miami: No sharing of rooms, no nightcap on a moonlit balcony. A nightcap in the hotel bar with others around is acceptable. Even if nothing happens, Cassie's mature enough to know it could be seen as improper.

She's also seen/heard enough stories to be wary of mixing alcohol and intimate settings. Besides, she'd rather use the downtime to facetime her boyfriend.

Opera: She might have gone with Ethan and thanked him after for helping take her mind off things. But that's it. However, the chances are higher she would have asked for his advice at the hospital and then just gone home to reflect on it.

Late nights, ethics trial and the rest: Cassie has no issues working with Ethan on Naveen's cure, whether it's late nights or early mornings. Ethan kept his feelings close and she would have never guessed from his words or actions that he saw her as anything other than another resident.

She came to Edenbrook to learn from Ethan Ramsey, and she would take advantage of the opportunities before her. She doesn't see him as a love interest, but by the time of the ethics trial she does see him as a mentor and a friend. And she values any help he can offer, even if he's being stubborn about it. But that's it: no Dirty 30s in Ch15 or Ch17.

I hc that she often talks about Ethan to her boyfriend because no one in Edenbrook can know about Naveen. Her boyfriend is a neutral party. He is privvy to everything, including her hero worship of Ethan. But at this stage, there's nothing for him to worry about because she's devoted to him, and he knows it.

Short-Lived series

There are a few tv shows/ series that I’ve gotten into over the years that I find really entertaining. These shows either have short episodes, less than 3 seasons, or were cancelled after one season. Unfortunately, a lot of shows on Netflix or other streaming services happen to not get good advertising or they just simply don’t do well. But I’m here to show you the ones I wish that they continued. Here’s my list of my favorite short-lived series for a quick watch.

1. I Am Not Okay With This

This show was very short lived with 1 season. It is available to stream on Netflix and is definitely worth a quick watch if you don’t want to commit to a long series. The show is about a teen girl struggling with finding herself dealing with family issues, sexuality and her new found powers. Sydney is a very relatable character and even if the show was short, you go through a rollercoaster of emotions just like Sydney does. It gets funny, dark, relatable, awkward, and serious all just in one season. I definitely recommend this show to anyone who just wants someone to relate to 10/10

2. The Hollow

Now the hollow is interesting, it would have been great at 1 season, but they had a second season. I still enjoyed the show, however they cancelled it after season 2! There was so much to unpack after season two that we were just left on a bit of a cliffhanger. I’m a bit upset that it’s cancelled, but I will say the show is still worth a watch. I was able to finish a season in a day, so it’s pretty short. It is about these 3 teenagers who wake up in a strange place not knowing where they are, but once they figure out what’s going on, there’s a twist ending. There’s a lot of theories as to what happened after season two, so if you want a series that will really make you think, this one’s for you! 8/10!

3. First kill

First kill is a show that really stuck with me, however, Netflix cancelled it after one season. It really makes me mad because it’s allegedly the marketing teams fault for it being cancelled because of not advertising it much, thus low viewership. But let’s not get into what makes me mad about it, let’s talk about what’s good about it. First kill is a story about a vampire and a vampire hunter who fall in love. Well, it’s not exactly that simple. There’s death, passion, sacrifice, and plot twists what make this series great. If you’re looking for a show with action, spice, and relationship drama, then this one’s for you! 9/10!

4. Twelve Forever

Cancelled after one season, twelve forever us a very memorable series to watch if you want something quick. Twelve forever is about a girl named Reggie who doesn’t want to grow up so she creates a key to a fantasy land for her to visit whenever she wants to escape. This show has lots of comedy, relatability, and great character designs. If you love cartoons and escapism, this show is for you! 9/10!

5. Red band society

Red band society is a great show to watch if you want a slice of drama and sadness. Aired in 2014 and cancelled after one season, red band society captures the stories of 6 kids who live in a pediatric ward and (almost) all of them become friends. Though, this show has some triggering content such as eating disorders, surgeries, death, and obviously, hospitals. But if you can handle that sort of thing, I definitely recommend this show! 8/10!

Summary: Summer break was hell after your step-brother Billy died, you and your sister Max both falling into a depression. Now you’re entering your senior year at Hawkins High and are trying to get back out there and get some friends other than Steve and Robin. Who knew one of those new friends would be resident ‘freak’ Eddie Munson.

You lay there, in Eddies bed, awake for most of the night thinking about everything. You figured out the following:

You really like Eddie

You really like having sex with Eddie

You aren’t ready to commit to a relationship

This is the most comforted you’ve ever felt with your head resting on his bare chest

You wished that Eddie would sleep the rest of the day so you wouldn’t have to talk about last nights event but eventually he would. While you layed there with him, you came up with things to say to him. You guys couldn’t just not talk about this. You kind of did last night when you told him you didn’t want to date anyone, but it was possible you changed your mind in that time. You haven’t changed it though, and that’s why you need to talk.

Eddie woke up around 10 that morning, which is early for him. You knew he was awake when you felt his hand rubbing up and down your arm as you continued to lay on his chest. You couldn’t help but smile at the action.

Maybe dating Eddie wouldn’t be that bad. We could totally make it work.

No, no. You had seen your mom go through 2 nasty divorces. The first with your dad. Your parents were madly in love, until they weren’t. You still remember the nights you would be trying to sleep and having to listen to their scream match downstairs. Then one day, your dad just moved out.

Your dad really did love you and Max, there was no doubt about that considering he wanted you to continue living with him in California. You would’ve happily accepted too if it weren’t for your mom having full custody and rejecting that offer.

After the events of the summer you really started to question wether or not you should’ve pushed to stay with your dad or not. You came to the conclusion that this was the best possible thing. This way, Max wasn’t alone. She had you.

Your moms second divorce was just as hard, if not harder. Neil had became an even bigger ass after the death of Billy. Losing a child is hard, but that didn’t mean he had to take it out on your mom, or Max, or you. You were glad when he left. Your mom never deserved him. Your mom on the other hand wasn’t as glad as you and your sister. You had to move to the trailer park, she picked up a second shitty job, and on top of that developed a drinking problem.

Things did not go the way your mom had life planed. She wanted to stay with your dad. She wanted the white picket fence in a nice suburban neighborhood. She wanted to be there for you and Max. She wanted so many things that didn’t work out. You didn’t want the life your mom has. You love your mom and admire her strength but you wanted bigger things and nobody was going to hold you back. Not even a boy you could definitely be developing feelings for.

It sounds sad. Forcing yourself into a spinster life. No husband and no kids, forever alone in your giant manor with 50 cats. That’s what you want though. Ok maybe not the giant manor and 50 cats but you can’t be held back and if that means being single and lonely forever, then so be it. You don’t want your life to be ruined, as your mom was proof of what could happen after 2 divorces. You no longer believed in true love. That was a lie made up long ago so kids would want to grow up to get married and have lots of babies. That shit didn’t work on you. Your happy with your decision. You just hope nothing will change that.

Eddies awake. Your pulled out of your thoughts when you feel him wrap his arms around you. This is starting to feel real. You don’t want this to be real. You know you need to just bite the bullet and start this very serious, possibly relationship ruining conversation before you throw all of your goals and aspirations away for some guy. But he isn’t just some guy. He’s Eddie. No, no, no. You can’t keep doing this. You just need to rip the band-aid off.

“You wanna talk about it?” he asks. Did Eddie just start the conversation you’ve been dreading since last night? Yes, he did. He could tell you looked anxious and like you needed to say something so he took matters into his own hands. Even though he knew it would pain him to hear how you weren’t interested in dating, he just wants you to be happy.

“Yes, please. If you don’t mind?” you say in a soft voice.

“Of course, sweetheart. We should talk about this, about us.” Us. You love the way he says that. Us. You and Eddie, Eddie and you. This is going to hurt more than you thought it would.

“Eddie, I really like you. I told you that last night. But, I’m not sure,” you say cautiously so you don’t hurt his feelings, “I never pictured myself actually dating someone. I don’t know how to commit myself to someone else. Seeing where my mom is at in life, I can’t have that. I’m not going to let that happen to me. I like you, a lot, but I can’t be something that I know you want me to be” you feel your heart shatter at the words you say to the boy you had an amazing time with last night.

“Princess,” he says smiling, “I don’t want you to be something you’re not. I know you don’t want to commit yourself to someone. That’s why I was serious last night when I suggested a friends with benefits thing. Last night was-”

“Incredible?” you chime in.

“Yeah, incredible. And I want to keep having incredible nights with you even if it means as your friend.” You smile at his kind words. Eddie was giving up on having a real relationship with you because you didn’t want to commit to him. You don’t deserve him.

“You’re sure? Like you are totally ok with us just having sex?” you ask, just to double check you’re hearing him right.

“No,” he says without hesitation and your heart starts breaking, “because, we aren’t just going to have sex. You and I? Yeah, we’re friends. Ok? You have to promise me that we will still be friends.” You nod with a smile on your face. You can’t believe this. Eddie is agreeing to being fuck buddies and continue being friends. “I promise, Eddie. Of course I promise. Thank you for understanding,” you say nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck and wrapping your arms around him tightly. You lay in bed together the rest of the day.

Eddie had invited you to sit in on his next Hellfire campaign and you happily agreed. Throughout the school week you exchanged glances, had some conversations here and there, but outside of school you’ve been at his place almost everyday. Not even having sex, just enjoying being around one another. You really were friends and being friends with him made you beyond happy.

“Hey sweetheart, did you want a ride to Hellfire tonight?” Eddie asks you as you are both hanging out by your locker.

“Yeah! That’d be great Eds, thanks!” you replied, bringing him into a hug which he quickly reciprocated.

“Sure thing, sweet thing” he said, walking away with a sly wink. You just rolled your eyes and giggled to yourself as you watched him walk off to his next class, or towards the door to ditch his next class.

You walked over to Eddies around 5 to head back to school for tonights “epic” game, Eddies words not yours. You knocked on the door to his trailer and almost instantly the door opened, startling you. You jumped back placing your hand over your chest to catch the breath that had left your body.

“Sorry sweetheart, I didn’t mean to scare you,” Eddie said, seeing you clearly weren’t expecting him to open the door so quick.

“It’s fine Eds, just got spooked is all,” you respond, shaking your head.

He nods his head towards the van, signaling for you to pile in so you can go spend your Friday night at school. You were excited though, really. Eddie would always talk about Hellfire and how amazing his party is. You’re not familiar with d&d but you do know that Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will would play it all the time, now you usually see it’s just Dustin and Mike playing. You were always curious about it though, it seems like the boys always had a lot of fun playing it. You also heard all about the demogorgan and of course the mind flayer over the summer. You figured you might as well see what all the hype is about.

You’re almost certain Eddie forgot to tell the party that you would be joining tonight because as soon as Eddie walked in with you their eyes widened and jaws went slack.

“Y/N? What the hell are you doing here?” Dustin blurted.

“Yeah, you don’t play d&d. We tried.” Mike says, annoyed that you’ve just now decided to partake in the game after their multiple attempts.

“Well my little sheepies, Y/N here is going to be joining us tonight. I’m a lot more convincing than the both of you little shits,” Eddie said teasing the boys. You giggle at the interaction between them. Eddie goes around introducing you to the other boys, Gareth, Jeff, and another you didn’t quite catch the name of. “So boys, are we gonna play or sit and stare at the beautiful princess?” you could feel your cheeks turning a bright red at Eddies compliment which your not even sure he did on purpose as he is a constant flirt.

You didn’t play that night. Eddie offered to show you how to play and earlier in the week he even asked if you wanted him to make you a character sheet. First, you wanted to make sure you liked the game before you started to waste his time, even though he would love for you to waste his time. You sat in a chair right next to Eddies throne during the entire 4 hours they played.

Once the time hit 9:30 and they got to an interesting stopping point, they decided to wrap it up for the night as the younger boys were already out past their 9 o’clock curfew. Since Eddie was your ride you helped him clean up after all the other guys left.

“So, wasn’t that just as epic as I promised?” Eddie questioned you playfully.

“That was definitely something,” you say with a giggle. You did actually have a great time. You really wanted Eddie to help you prepare for next Friday so you could play with the rest of them. Hellfire turned out to be something you never thought you would enjoy but your glad you got dragged along.

You and Eddie head back to the trailer park, blasting music on the way, just enjoying each others company. Eddie pulls up to his trailer and you guys sit there to listen to the rest of the song. Once it finishes you place your hand on the doorhandle bidding Eddie a goodnight.

“Goodnight sweetheart,” Eddie says and then quickly leans in and pecks your lips. You sit there in shock just for a moment. Sure, Eddie has kissed you multiple times but never like that. This kiss was a goodnight kiss, a I’ll talk to you later kiss, a boyfriend kiss. It just broke your heart more and more knowing Eddie probably wasn’t actually ok with this arrangement you guys had going on but he didn’t want to push you. All Eddie wants is for you to be happy and you reminding yourself that is the only thing keeping you sane.

You decided to ignore the kiss and just act natural. Maybe Eddie didn’t even realize he did it, which he didn’t realize he kissed you until he was laying in bed that night. You hop out of the van, give him a quick smile and you start the very short trek back to your place. Once you reach the door, something in you decides to look back at him and you’re glad that you do. When you look back you see Eddie Munson at his front door, also looking back to you with the most perfect and loveliest smile in the world.

You go to bed that night thinking of Eddie Munson. You think about how understanding he is. You think about how gorgeous he is. You think about how gentle he is. When you close your eyes that night, you see the image of him smiling at you from his front door and you begin to subconsciously smile at the thought of him. You know you’re hurting Eddie, even if he refuses to believe it, but you’re starting to wonder if this is hurting you too. It feels almost impossible to be “just friends” with him when you’re… when you’re… fuck it. You are in love with Eddie Munson.

“Shit.”

Love your batcat posts. Do you think the sequel to The Batman will give Bruce/Batman and new love interest and will Selina get to meet Bruce Wayne as the emo guy or the billionaire playboy philanthropist?

Ok, I haven't really thought about the continuation of the storyline development, probably because I was too busy thinking about the first movie lol.

1-I think bruce Wayne having a new love interest is a possibility I wouldn’t exclude. He’s a young handsome, rich MAN with NEEDS and WANTS, who has women likely throwing themselves at him. Yes bruce Wayne aka batman is a superhero above all else [ but he’s still a man ]... and as seen in the first movie our superhero also has NEEDS and WANTS... that’s why I can definitely picture him in “a non-committed” relationship with a woman other than selina. Why NON-commited relationship? because bruce/batman with his “people need hope, and need to know someone’s out there for them” mindset will in all probability be too busy with his second life to be in a serious relationship, especially if the sequel is 6 months or a year maybe two after the flooding. Batman will be out there helping rebuilding gotham with one goal in mind, bring back hope to people.

2-l can also picture picture bruce in the early stages of a relationship with another woman. I think it would be interesting to see how he would react to the news that selina is back in town and how batman would react to that news... will he be over her, pretend to be over her, or will his feelings for her literally drive him crazy like they did in the first movie? will he break up with that woman for selina ? will he want to pick up things from where they left? will she be over him? will she flirt with him and will he flirt back? will they admit/confess their feelings for each other? ...[Ok now I need that sequel lol !!!! I love this scenario better because I love drama and angst ...so writers if you're here I neeeed this scenario!!!]

Bruce has grown as a person we’ve seen the batman’ transition from vengeance to hope ,and I believe the second movie will be about bruce embracing the Wayne’s heritage and his human and philanthropic side. Becoming "more than vengeance" won’t be enough to help his city_ bruce will realize it and decide to build the bruce Wayne persona his city needs, and learn to balance his bruce Wayne' life and his batman' life. It would be amusing to see the socially awkward and unwilling to have a real conversation with people bruce turn into a conversationalist whenever he meets selina lol... Now that I think about it maybe we won't get the usual billionaire playboy philanthropist bruce Wayne but the enigmatic and reclusive billionaire philanthropist bruce Wayne [ Wooow this smells like a trilogy of batcat movies, battinson is a one woman man!!! we're getting a wedding, you heard it here first lol]

In all seriousness, I don’t know if selina will meet bruce "the antisocial_with his eyes low directed towards the floor, looking like he wants to hide from the wolrd" wayne, but I do know one thing we're going to get several bruce X selina scenes and I can't wait to watch them.

A Byler Lyrical Analysis of People Watching by Conan Gray

Continuing my efforts to lyrically analyze all of superache for byler :)

Part 1: Will's POV

This song illustrates Will's jealous observations of Mike and El’s relationship and his desire to be in a similar relationship with Mike.

Lyrics:

That wasn't funny but she laughed so hard, she almost cried

Will, like the audience, observes how mike and el have this dynamic that frequently involves him acting goofy and her laughing about it (pizza shop, him lip syncing "never surrender" in s3, etc). His observation that the joke "wasn't funny," though, indicates that he notices the flaws in their relationship because of his jealousy, and because he understands how toxic it its—he doesn't find it funny when mike flirts with el in a joking way, like we saw in the pizza shop, because this is so painful for him to observe.

They're counting months they've been together, almost 49

He's making fun of how she acted 'round the holidays

This describes more quintessential relationship behaviors that will observes in mike and el's relationship

the "making fun" aspect further builds on how mike and el often act goofy around one another, creating a relationship that is somewhat more childish and friendly than a serious, mature relationship

She wears a ring but they tell people that they're not engaged

This line depicts key issues in el and mike's relationship that will knows about from all of his conversations with mike about the relationship (most notably in s4). The fact that "she" (el) wears a ring despite there not being a concrete level of commitment agreed upon by both members of the relationship represents how el is more invested in the relationship than mike is—while she is fully willing to enter a more mature relationship with mike, he is having commitment issues with her and hesitates to say he loves her/create a more serious relationship (which is symbolized by "telling people they're engaged"—obviously doesn't happen in the literal sense with them, but represents a more serious commitment/entering the next phase of their relationship).

Just the idea of someone wearing a ring despite there not being an actual commitment attached to it also illustrates an empty relationship like mike and el's—you could imagine that mike "gave her the ring" (aka his commitment to her) years ago when they met but wants to tell people they "aren't engaged" (is now revoking those promises that he perviously made) because the love that they once had (which was more youthful and less serious) has faded away as they got older

They met in class for metaphysical philosophy

He tells his friends, "I like her 'cause she's so much smarter than me"

It was made clear in vol2 that Mike believes he is inferior to el in many ways, which, again, is something that Will would make note of since Mike told him about these feelings—Mike admires el not necessarily because of her intelligence, but because of her powers and the abilities that she has but he does not (maybe some toxic hero worship here??)

They're having talks about their futures until 4:00 a.m.

Mike and El have definitely made plans for a future together, because that's what everyone expects for them—they're the sort of couple that seems to have always been together, so they assume they always will be, even if that isn't what's best for them both.

I could see this being especially painful for Will to notice because, as childhood best friends, he and mike definitely used to discuss their futures together when they were kids/plan what they wanted to do when they grew up, and now El has taken his place, while Will is likely terrified of what his future will bring as a gay man in the 80s.

And I'm happy for them (and I'm happy for them)

IT HURTS because Will loves both Mike and El and he IS happy for them because he prioritizes their happiness over his own. So as long as he believes they are happy in their relationship, he's going to do everything possible to help them maintain it, which we saw a lot of in vol2.

But I wanna feel all that love and emotion

Will is in love with Mike, but he doesn't feel the same "love and emotion" that he observes/believes he observes in Mike and El's relationship—requited love that comes with joyful emotions instead of pain. Will obviously wishes that his love for Mike could be the positive kind that Mike and El appear to have, that he could feel happiness because of Mike in place of the sadness and pain.

Be that attached to the person I'm holding

In this line, "holding" the other person is key, because it represents actually being in a relationship with them. While Will IS certainly attached to Mike, he is unable to "hold" him—aka have him as a romantic partner who he can be open about his feelings with.

Someday, I'll be falling without caution

Will hopes to one day be able to love someone without that love being surrounded by fear and restraint ("caution") like his love for Mike currently is. He wants to know that his love for Mike is requited so that he is able to "fall" for him without worrying about the countless risks attached to his feelings. ("Fall" is a great word here because it depicts how Will associates love with something quite dangerous, and he defines it by the inevitable risks and injuries that come with falling—this is obviously because, as a gay man in the 80s, Will fears love and all of the hatred he faces for who he loves).

But for now, I'm only people watching

Will does not think he will ever be able to openly love Mike, so he must instead simply observe his and el's relationship.

I'm only looking just to live through you vicariously

Again, Will believes the closest he can come to being with Mike is observing his relationship with El and living vicariously through their experience, even though this brings him pain.

I've never really been in love, not seriously

By "really being in love seriously," Will means being in a relationship with someone who loves him back, and being able to openly love someone. This has never happened to him because the only person he's ever loved is Mike, and he's always felt he has to hide that love.

I had a dream about a house behind a picket fence

"A house behind a picket fence" represents a future in a romantic, committed relationship with the person Will loves, which he dreams about having with Mike even though he does not think this could be possible. (It's also interesting that "a house behind a picket fence" would be different from the house Will grew up in and probably more similar to a house like Mikes', which would indicate that Will has fonder memories of Mike's house than his own. This type of house would also be more expensive, which could illustrate Will's desire for his children to have a better childhood than he himself did, financially and otherwise.)

Next one I choose to trust, I hope I use some common sense

Will's love for Mike does not follow "common sense," because if Will could of chosen who he loved, Mike would not have been the most logical option—his relationship with El makes him completely unattainable in Will's eyes.

Also, Will likely feels that Mike betrayed his "trust" during s3—while he never expected Mike to love him, he did assume that Mike would always be his friend and would not push him away as he did. Looking back, Will wishes he used "common sense" to assume that everyone in the party would get girlfriends like Mike told him during their fight—he shouldn't have "trusted" that they would stay in the basement and play dnd forever.

Will's coded car confession seems to imply that Will pushed Mike away quite a bit after the move as well ("if she [I] was mean to you, or she seemed like she was pushing you away"), "cutting him out" because he was afraid of losing him and afraid of his love for him.

I end up all alone but I still keep hoping

Will does seem to be very alone in s4, especially in his new life in California. We don't know about him having any friends, and from what it looks like, he tries to stay under the radar to avoid the bullying that El faces when she's friendly towards others. While this is totally understandable, this could be another instance of Will "cutting people out," and if his loneliness stems from his fear of reaching out to his classmates in California, he may feel like he is causing it himself.

And yet, he continues to maintain hope that he still has friends in Hawkins, which we saw in his initial excitement at the airport when Mike was arriving. No matter how unrealistic a relationship with Mike seems to be, Will finds himself unable to let go of him/the hope that it could be possible.

Right now, Will is terrified to let anyone get to know him, because truly knowing him means also knowing his sexuality, and this is something he feels he absolutely cannot reveal to the world. This may be another reason he hasn't made friends in California/has "cut people out"—he's afraid that any new friends he makes might realize he's gay. He wishes this didn't have to be the case, though, and he could let people know his true self without fear of how they'd react.

Life feels so monotone but I still keep hoping

Because of his loneliness, Will feels as though his life has grown "monotone"—he doesn't think that the excitement or joy brought by a relationship will ever be an option for him, because he can't see himself loving anyone but Mike and he can't imagine Mike ever reciprocating his feelings.

However, he keeps hoping, because Mike continues with these lip stares/heart eyes/romantic moments that Will probably notices to some extent, and although he tries to ignore them, they do give him hope that Mike may love him back one day.

OC "Couple" Questions - OVDW Edition

For a quick introduction, the left one (brunette) is Oliver, an archdemon who works as a general officer with anxiety issues and one child. The right one (blonde) is Dewangga, a cherub and a priest, yet he acts like the Devil himself (i.e., killing demons and all). Their dynamic is like mutual pining between "awkward big guy" x "violent smaller guy", though personally I like simply calling them police x (whore) ustaz or crocodile x eagle or DEEP AND HOLIC

Also, the child is actually THEIR secret daughter together, but only Oliver takes care of her cuz Dewangga abandoned his responsibilities as a father (or mother) by force. Though, he's still at fault here.

Questions are made by Hershel Deercliff. I'll put the image below the cut. Original thread on Twitter (in Indonesian), dated 3rd February 2024.

1. "What were their first impressions of each other?"

Oliver thinks Dewangga is weird and too extreme because he believes himself to be the most "rightful" one and that his actions of massacring demons can be justified just because he's an angel. While Dewangga himself mocks the demon for holding himself back against him or that he's not that serious about catching his ass for committing crimes, and being so meek despite being of a high rank. The cherub doesn't just hate demons, he DESPISES all demons, including Oliver, even if he looks handsome!!

But they had actually met earlier, right before finally running up to each other again and fighting after Dewangga committed his act. The point is, Oliver was confused as to how an angel could be stumbling onto the bushes on the border of the Underworld and Overworld 😂 He was just patrolling around the area, minding his own business, until he found someone falling upside down with his ass upwards.

Dewangga was, of course, embarrassed as HELL because he was caught trespassing and even got his ass stared at by a 1 RANK AND FIVE STARS ARCHDEMON, definitely not the demon he expected to meet right off the bat, whereas his position was very promising right. They bickered for a moment before Dewangga finally ran away (or maybe more accurately, flew away) lmao

2. "Is it a casual relationship or true love? Or somewhere in between?"

Unlabeled relationship????? They started out as enemies THEN turned into enemies with benefits tho... I don't know I'm not an expert at love??

3. "What was each of them's 'oh shit I have feelings for them' moment?"

Do they even realize? At least they realized it after they got separated for good. But what's more to do because they're an angel and a demon, so naturally they can't be together...

4. "Did either of them fight their feelings, or was it easy to accept?"

Dewangga hates himself and doesn't want to accept that he has let himself be carried away by lust, even to the point of throwing away his precious daughter (because she's still an illegitimate child and a literal abomination no matter how you view it). He's an angel, he should've dismissed his strange affection towards Oliver and returned to the right path, but in the end, he really regrets everything like why did he let this happen, why that, etc. He's afraid of what Agares, the other angels, or even Oliver himself would say if they found out that he... uhhh laid a fertilized egg? Besically he's in denial

On the other hand, Oliver is also aware that their relationship is taboo and that it won't be possible because they're from different species (?). Not only that, he's afraid that Dewangga's chastity would be "tainted" if a demon like him keeps hanging around with an angel, and even though he actually loves (and is curious about) him, Oliver feels that they're better off apart for good… even though he knows that they should talk about everything that has happened, like their child and all.

5. "When was their first "I love you"? What prompted it? If neither has said it yet, why?"

Nope. Both of them are afraid of what their relationship will be like in the future and what others will say about them, plus Dewangga doesn't want to be unfaithful to Agares just because he loves a demon but what I want to say is FUC—

6. "WHO'S THE BIG SPOON WHO'S THE LITTLE SPOON TELL ME NOW!!!!!"

Dewangga is the big spoon, Oliver's the little spoon cuz it fits their personality more 😂

7. "What was the biggest obstacle to their relationship?"

Their own selves, of course. They are a pair of an angel and a demon, their goals are different, and their natures are also different. It just goes against God's "teachings", apparently.

I think it's interesting how they're always on different grounds, no matter how much they yearn for each other and no matter how many universes they've passed through... by that I also mean in AUs. They are cursed with the star-crossed lovers trope 😭

8. "What drew them to each other the most?"

Oliver is attracted by Dewangga's fortitude in carrying out his duties even though he is a huge fanatic and his method of execution is very questionable. While Dewangga likes his touch (iykwim), plus Oliver is handsome. Of course he didn't like it at first, but after a while he thinks that Oliver is not like the other demons ahahay

Basically they're just like magnets, attracted to each other yet they can never be together simply because they're from opposing sides and of the same sex, although being gay doesn't really matter in this universe. My man god made the afterlife world gay because the original human world didn't allow him to be gay

Oh, and they are actually drawn to each other because they feel a strange sense of familiarity, as if they have encountered each other before. Oliver realizes who Dewangga is sooner or later, but Dewangga doesn't recall who Oliver is. Spoiler alert: turns out that Dewangga is actually Oliver's long-dead ex-crush (Eda) who got the chance for redemption and to live again but as an angel. As a result, he doesn't remember or even know that he had a life in the Underworld and met Oliver before. Reincarnation? Maybe? But even though Dewangga doesn't consciously remember anything, his body still remembers Oliver's touch AND YES you may take it however you want

It's not like Dewangga's memories are wiped or anything. Those memories of him as Eda in the past belong to Eda only. Basically Dewangga is like a new creature but made with Eda's traumas or core or something, Idk. Does he still count as Eda? But still, Dewangga is Dewangga, Eda is Eda and he's only a being from the distant past...

9. "How long did they know each other before developing feelings?"

IDK????? I NEVER COUNTED IT???? 😭😭😭

Maybe at least 1~3 years (on Earth or the universe's Human World's date)? But if you count it from when Oliver first met Eda, well it was long ago man, don't ask me this I don't even know

10. "What's each other's favorite quality about the other?"

Oliver likes Dewangga who always stands up to his beliefs, has an unwavering will to fulfill his duties in the name of God, and is confident.

Dewangga likes how kind and understanding Oliver is, even though he is a demon, capslock ARCHDEMON even, yet he is a soft boy. He also thinks that Oliver's behavior is like a puppy. He really likes dogs. Do crocodiles count as dogs?

"yah, of course you do!" your friend daisy complains, following with a fake surprise at your words, "i'm shocked. please, care to explain."

you stare at her incredulously. not because your friend of 6 years is annoyed at you. that was just like any other noisy, alcohol-filled friday between you two. what makes you shoot your eyebrows up is what she wants you to explain. right in front of your other friends and their acquaintances.

you silently ask her to stop with your warning eyes, but just like always, daisy doesn't really seem to get the memo. so you opt for vague, quick answer.

"i don't think casual relationships suck. i just think men suck at it."

there. you gave it a try. there's your answer. she's gonna shut up now-

"elaborate."

"daisy."

"what? it's an interesting take, don't get all quiet now."

you sigh.

here goes nothing.

"i just think men don't really get the concept of casual right and that's what kills it."

she blinks once, and twice, seemingly deep in thought, "...huh."

"and i think they see it as a form of being detached from any sort of commitment or empathy to the other person. they think only a serious relationship requires that, because they're dense and they're dumb and they don't see it as a two-sided situation. they don't think about the other side, and when the woman gets annoyed because, well, she's not really enjoying it or getting what she wants, and goes up to them, they get all 'woah you're getting way too attached that's not what this is'... they don't think they need to treat the woman right, because to them, caring about the woman's experience is a favor, and not something they want to do so, and that's why when the woman pulls out, they go to their buddies that are just as stupid as them and brag about the bitch who got attached and how women are too sensitive. they just don't get it. because they're stupid and superficial and they don't really like women."

you regret opening your mouth.

just as your mind told you before you left your apartment, you should've stayed at home, where your biased mouth wouldn't go on and on about past regrets and frustrations-

"damn, who bad laid you?" daisy's new girlfriend, sunmi, asks with a chuckle, and when the rest of you join, everything seems easier again, and your shoulders release from the tense grip your anxiety quickly held at you.

damn, that one was close.

except for one person, who seems to ponder as their eyes study your face, eyes squinting and lips slightly curving as your answer reach their ears,

"doesn't really matter, 'cause i definitely know what casual means", sarcasm dripping bitterly from your words.

the subjects changes, and that one person keeps staring at you every now and then, and you question whether he's judging, studying or straight up staring at you.

you don't know what has gotten into daisy's friend, hoseok, today. but he's definitely quieter than usual. waves and waves of high-pitched laughter long stored in the back of your mind, making space for a sudden quietness and a curious gaze.

you wonder if he has any objection for your words - which would, honestly, be a disappointment.

hoseok, from what you've seen, reads an interesting and easy going person, with a laughter so captivating that's capable of making others laugh until their stomach hurts without even knowing if there was ever a joke to start.

not that fun people don't have shitty opinions, but you oh so hope hoseok is not the case.

why, though? who knows.

probably him, by this point, because now you're staring back for what feels like a good minute.

god, you really lost your social skills.

"bathroom", you say to the table before getting up. it doesn't really phase anyone - is what you think is the case.

that is until you finish washing your hands, quickly shaking your head with a few "just fucking chill" leaving your mouth in whispers. as you turn around the corner that separates the rest of the bar from the bathroom, your eyes meet hoseok's, closer than you've ever been to one another.

you're two feet away from him, and you're sure the hot air touching your chin is coming from his slightly open heart-shaped mouth.

"hi", he sighs. was that tension in his tone?

"hey", that was definitely tension in yours, you note. you clear your throat, "is everything okay?"

"yeah, sure" he responds, "just... i'm sorry if that had anything to do with any experience of yours. felt like it did."

"oh." is the only thing that leaves your mouth, contrasting to the reasons for it. why is he saying sorry? why does he think he has anything to do with it? why is he so damn close? why do i find his words... nice?

say something, dammit.

"s'okay. it did, to be honest, but i already had my mind made up about it way before. s'fine."

he just nods at you, and your nice-filled thoughts return to tensioned ones when you realize he's waiting for more. what the hell?

"...i'm not talking about it."

"oh-oh right, right, of course! i'm sorry, i didn't wanna be invasive, sorry-"

"it's fine! don't worry, i definitely talked a lot about it on the table and-"

"no but even so what do i have to do with this- not that i wouldn't hear about it-"

at this point, you're barely letting each other finish your lame excuses for your lame anxieties, and it just turned into a mumbling and rambling festival, until both of you are curling your lips upwards like two dumbasses.

there you go. this too, feels nice.

yeah, that's definitely it.

you both chuckle, and when you look at the ground and lightly balance on your feet, you catch hoseok wrinkling his nose with a smile.

...nice?

yeah, that's a nice smile.

"well... i don't mean to chime in, especially after that. but..." you return your gaze up and he's still looking at your face, "i agree with you."

...huh.

"okay...?" you respond looking to your side, and nice turns into weirdness.

it was never typical of you to blindly trust men and their lightweight words. but after that one special occasion that you're pretty sure everybody back on the table is already speculating on or searching for instagram profiles back and forth, every hint of lies, manipulation or even interest coming from them annoys you to your guts.

your hurt, grudged and healing guts.

and you think he notices.

"i'm not trying to have my way with you."

oh.

oh?

"i didn't think you were" oh, but you did.

because they always do. and this is not in any way, shape or form, you bragging over attention from men. in reality, you've been despising it since everything happened merely a year ago.

they come, and they go, and all that stays is lies and hurt.

and yes, you did.

"yes, you did." his face turned serious just like it was back at the table.

you scoff, because now he's just being full of himself, "well, i'm sorry to pop your bubble but i definitely did not."

"popping my bubble?" he repeats your words with a smug scoff. god, is he enjoying this debauchery? "oh, honey, you're not popping anything."

your eyes couldn't get more narrowed at that, because now you feel like taking back every nice words you had about him. where did nice go? definitely far, far away. "oh but i'm this close to popping your nose open with my fist."

he sighs and softens his face. and as he looks both sides as if he's trying and seeing if any recognisable face is close to whatever this... thing is, you can't help but notice his perfectly curved nose. damn, it would be a shame to pop a bridge like that.

"sorry. that was not my point." he shakes his head slightly, "i'm sorry you went through that. we don't really know each other that well yet, so i didn't know about it, but it seemed... tough. you seemed kinda taken aback out there, which i don't blame you..."

you grin at his words. "she can be a menace."

"she can", he agrees, "but it's not out of malice. she's just..."

"...dense."

"yeah."

you both nod and grin at each other. he also knows her for years now and has definitely felt in his skin what daisy and her curiosity can do at the wrong place and the wrong time.

which is nice. hoseok seems to get where you and your shot up eyebrows back at the table came from.

which is probably why your shoulders relax, your arms hold each other on your back and you fidget back and forth on your feet now.

nice.

"anyways", hoseok says on a higher tone, "we should head back."

"we should", you agree. "but didn't you want to go to the bathroom?"

"me? no. i just came for you."

oh.

"right..."

"'cause i wanted to have my way with you."

"hoseok."

"i'm just fucking with you." his smirk comes back to his face and you accelerate every thought that goes through your mind about that, externalizing it with a loud scoff at his words that seemed way louder than a legit scoff should sound. you don't know if he notices it, but you do know his stupid smirk feels hot where it lands on your face.

so, with the dumbest come back you could grab from your lame collection, you retort.

"you wish!" you say to his back, as he's already making his way back to the gathering.

but then he turns around one more time, and as his teeth slowly lose their grip on his lower lip, he plain and simply retorts with amusement plastered on his lips and a seemingly darker tone on his eyes,

"and what if i do."

and your words fucking disappear from your throat. just like he disappears around the corner.

if only the sudden heat that rose up to your cheeks did the same.

and at this exact moment, you realize jung hoseok annoys the living shit out of you.

🌵 - How toxic would a relationship be with your muse? Would it be able to be fixed?

On a scale from 1-10, I would rate Kaede being toxic in a relationship a solid 2.5 to 3, simply due to her minor lack of communication. Kaede has a difficult time expressing any emotion that isn’t positive. She has always been made to feel guilty for any negative expression from such a young age, that if Kaede is having negative emotions in a relationship, she refuses to talk about and will mask it in any way that she can.

🥰 - Is your muse good at telling when others have feelings for them?

Absolutely... the hell not. Kaede is oblivious to say the very least and if someone does bite the bullet and attempts to flirt with her, she will not know unless that person is upfront and blunt about it. Otherwise she will assume that you’re just being friendly with her.

💌 - How would they confess to their love interest? Would they wait on a confession?

Kaede is definitely the type to wait on a confession. However, if she were the one to confess her feelings towards somebody, then she would definitely do it whilst the two of them are alone in a private setting. Confessing any romantic feelings towards a potential significant other is a big thing for her and she wouldn’t want to do something like that where other people are watching.

🎀 - Do they aim to impress their partner often? If they do, how so?

No, not really. She has only been in one serious relationship, and that was a shit storm to put it lightly. Kaede won't commit to a relationship until she's 100% confident in herself. At the same time, she doesn’t purposely go out of her way to impress her partner often. If they’re impressed by her, then good on them, but it’s most likely not done intentionally.

💮 - Is your muse the possessive or super jealous type?

Not at all. Once Kaede is in a relationship, she knows that her partner is hers and hers only. She has enough trust in her partner to know that they wouldn’t do anything to betray her in such a ginormous way.

💐 - What small things go a long way for your muse? What small favors can someone do to get on their good side?

In all honesty, the smallest favor one can do to get on Kaede’s good side, is just letting her be comfortable enough to open up around you. I’ve state before that she is more on the introverted side of the spectrum and doesn’t exactly speak unless she has to. So getting her comfortable enough to utter more than a few sentences towards you goes a long way into developing a relationship with her.

❤ - What's something you feel like your muse needs to work on for a relationship to happen or for a relationship to be healthy? Do you think that's possible? Or is it something that'll likely never happen?

Communication and expression. Hands down, Kaede needs to work on her communication and being able to express her emotions a lot better than she does for her to be in a fully healthy and happy relationship with someone. While I think it’s possible for her to better her communication, expressing her emotions without the lingering feeling of guilt? Well... that will be a bit more difficult. I’m not saying it’ll never happen, but it will definitely take some time.

[tv review] ds9 2x02 "the circle" & 2x03 "the siege" (1993)

so, the previous episode ended with the bombshell that the famous pow major kira helped rescue is to replace her as first officer on ds9, and kira is to report to bajor for reassignment. it’s pretty transparently obvious that this is because bajor’s first minister sees this war hero as a threat to his political position, but said war hero doesn’t really mind because as we learned in the past episode his role in the bajoran resistance was greatly overstated and he doesn’t want the pressure of being a leader, but every time he tries to set the record straight people think it’s just false modesty.

what won’t become obvious until the plot starts to unfold further is that another huge part of this is keeping kira out of the way (and putting her in extremely convenient kidnapping range, like exactly 1 kidnapping distance away). after sisko’s opening volley in the fight to keep kira on the station, we move on to a frankly pretty hilarious scene where kira is packing and nearly every single other main cast member bursts into her quarters to commiserate or encourage her to fight this. it’s the kind of scene an aaron sorkin show would probably do, except better because it’s not aaron sorkin. (yes hi i used to be the kind of idiot who watched that propaganda. i got better.)

the last person to enter kira’s quarters is vedek bareil. he’s there to invite her to spend some time in his monastery if you know what he means. wink-wink, nudge-nudge. ok in all seriousness bareil does get significantly less creepy eventually when he & kira do actually end up in a pretty hot & heavy romantic relationship, but their first few encounters really do rub me the wrong way.

we hear (but never really see) that violence is escalating on bajor. quark bursts into odo’s office and basically says “we” (yes, “we”) “have to get out of here!” so, you know. husbands. instead, odo extorts quark into being his deputy, performatively hating his own idea the whole time.

husbands.

i’m not going to do a blow-by-blow of everything that happened in these episodes, but basically it turns out that first minister jaro is behind the circle (what!! i’m shocked!!) and he finds a temporary ally (and sexual partner, gross) in vedek winn, but she never really fully commits and throws him under the bus the moment it suits her. starfleet orders sisko to evacuate deep space nine, and he doesn’t directly disobey but he does drag his feet quite a bit, forcing a fight between the skeleton crew left on the station and the invading bajoran forces.

the pow kira rescued back in the first episode of this three-parter shows exactly the kind of leadership he kept denying he had the capacity for when he gives an impassioned speech to his fellow bajorans asking that they let their non-bajoran comrades have priority in the evacuation because the invading bajoran forces are unlikely to target them in the same way they’ll target outsiders. his story ends up wrapping up with him throwing himself into a phaser beam meant for commander sisko, also demonstrating exactly the kind of courage he insisted he lacked. dude had a serious case of imposter syndrome, turns out.

there are some shortcomings with these episodes to be sure, but they do accomplish a lot of worldbuilding and give us some quality star trek fighting. overall, it feels like they spent a lot of time between seasons thinking about a way to relaunch the show. in a lot of ways this whole arc felt more like a series premiere than a season premiere, and it definitely helped the second season hit the ground running.
