I'm not immune to schmoopy affection in fanworks. it compells me despite itself #anyway it's technically not that crazy when it comes to dick and damian. they hug! often! at least they did #it's not as big a leap to these types of scenarios #also talia ''somewhat absent for complex reasons on both her and damians part but very loving and loved by her son'' al ghul #you will always be famous to me #son of the demon origin...bwahhh #anyway. someone made a comic kind of like this/like a post i made abt this topic #but way funnier bc dick and talia starting trying to beat each other up #so go look at that as well #anyway. it's been a somewhat difficult few weeks so I'm. desperately trying to take it easy #i got some reading with me (first vol of kevin smiths GA run that i found second hand and jaimes BB run vol 2!) #so we'll see how far i get through those. considering there's demons in my head telling me to re-read things (LET ME OUT!!!) #when i finish GA and BB i do plan on rereading robin 2021. as a treat to myself #it's a run I've really warmed up to as time went on #I'm keeping up w/ the current b&r run even though it is. admittedly very slow w/ some weird dialogue #i read it for the damian content more than anything. also nikas back so that's neat :] #idk I have a feeling that after absolute power shakes out we might get some more creative team switch ups #so if anyone at dc is interested in taking over the reigns on b&r...that could be very neat #(it's me they should hire me. please DC i have ideas listen to my red hood pitch PLEASE-)

whats a fandom that you will literally never escape

like every few months you are like "ah finally i think i can move on from that fandom. i think the obsessions run its course" then a few months later youre obsessed with it again

#yall I’ve been dealing with chronic pain from my fallopian tubes since September 2021 #and only now have I found a doctor that doesn’t pressure me into invasive exams and said she’ll remove my fallopian tube and help me to #diagnose my pain bc no other doctor actually did that #holy fuck holy fuck I have never been so excited leaving a doctors office before this is the best news ever #thankfully I’ve had 2 laparoscopies before so I knew what to expect and I shouldn’t be out for more than a week #oh my god

My part of an art trade with @phoenix-the-mistfit-fire-bird​!! Her oc, Amelia, being bandaged up and comforted by Rosita. How did she get hurt? Well she’s a detective so she can’t always say! But Rosita is there by her side no matter what. All her friends are! ❤️

This was my second time ever drawing Rosita (first time in lineless style) and man, it was hard. I’m not used to non-fluffy characters. But I’m always glad to push myself a bit; that’s how we learn! I hope you like it! ❤️

One Dress a Day Challenge

June: Weddings

Coming 2 America / Jermaine Fowler as Lavelle and Nomzamo Mbatha as Mirembe

This gown gives the Marry Me wedding dress a run for its money in sheer size: the train was 15 feet long, and the whole dress weighed 83 pounds. Mbatha said, "I felt like a such princess, the dress was so gorgeous, and I was told 'OK, try to move.' And I literally could not move." The crew set the train up on three little carts, but then they had a problem with the train moving in unexpected ways and pushing Jermaine Fowler out of shots. So finally they added some wires to keep the whole thing moving in a straight line.

The gown itself is made of a gorgeous orangey-red ankara fabric. Mirembe also has a red veil attached to a colorful beaded fascinator, a multi-strand ruby necklace, and ropes of cowrie shells in her hair.

Lavelle looks equally impressive in white and cream, with embroidery on the sleeves and back. His outfit is topped off with a jaunty crown.

Costumes for this film were designed by Ruth E. Carter.

idk but i just get unbearably bummed about spn fandom sometimes bc of all the divisions and bad blood. like i created this separate blog to firewall dark fic and "problematic" stuff from my main bc it's so contentious and i have seen some wild puritanical bullshit go down on the destiel side of the fandom.

and i will admit that my first interaction with the samdean/wincest part of the fandom was a huge turnoff and i avoided it for a while as a result of a couple of REALLY bad first interactions before circling back to it. but then it's also like. my main blog is... i guess it's primarily destiel but tbh it's gotten to be more "holy shit i love the writers, have you thought about the writers today? [marge potato gif] i just think they're neat."

but the thing is, i actually really dislike a huge swath of the destiel fandom and disagree with how they approach canon and/or writing the characters in fic! namely that it completely ignores that whether you slice it as a platonic sibling or romantic/sexual bond, samdean is an undeniable part of the narrative. it's like. it just cannot be removed. both of these relationships and their narrative dynamics are load-bearing and i hate how knee-jerk ppl get about having to pick one or the other.

it just feels very lonely out here with how polarized the fandom is.
