Sprite stuff, lol.
anyways here is a quick description of everyone here from my chapter 3 take.
toriel: due to dark worlds only allowing people at a certain age to enter, she is now a teenager like Kris, and is unable to remember anything past her teenage years (including how Kris is her child, so ya that sucks)
napstablook: also became a teenager when entering the dark world, he is basically the leader of static seas police and shows up near the end of the chapter. Not much else to mention, lol. Also when them and toriel leave the dark world, they will think of the entire thing as some dream they had in the past. So ya that’s also very fun.
mike smarts: okay we are getting into the new guys now, Mike is a cat phone darkener who kinda loves to go on a revolution against how people who are more popular are the wealthiest. His light world form is toriels cell phone she used at the end of chapter 2. Also he is spamtons 2nd ex, damn poor spammy, Mike took the kids. Also he is the person ya gotta manipulate to do the weird route, aka the screen burn route.
tenna: they are totally a shadowman! Why would you think not? They are the leader of the midnight crew, consisting of a type of mafia that was run by a bunch of shadow men. His light world form is a tv ad (cuz he is a Addison, lol)
rook: the big bad of chapter 3, they stay away from Kris and their team, but still interacts with them by using a bunch of tv like robots so he can make them do a bunch of acting shit. You meet him at last near the final boss, when you sneak inside his penthouse and try to seal the fountain. His light world form is the tv in Kris’s house
filmso: a old film camera guy who hates his job as a janitor, he used to be a big time director, till the eventual downfall of a certain series involving a cowboy. Now he spends his time at the dump and green room, where he sweeps the floors and questions his very life existence. He also goes insane in the screen burn route and fights you like Spamton did. His light world object is a old black and white movie airing on tv.
cat burn: a funny cat chef who wants you to cook with him, his light world form is that cool show with the cat y’all saw in chapter 2.
Bobby and hoppy: a tired children’s tv show host who doesn’t want to preform, their light world form is some children’s tv show on the television.
cathode: a detective in static seas who wants to take down the midnight crew’s mafia business, his light world form is a detective film.
creslint and cloudia: 2 weather men who tells people in static seas the weather, their light world form is a news channel.
RAILY D. ROUNDUP: YEEHAW LASSY! YA KNOW ME WELL AND YOU DONT NEED ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF!!! HAHAHOHO!!

The Red Devil’s Chronicles: Sept to Nov 2022 DMC News Updates - Merch, Collabs, Etc.
Hey there, how's it going? Apologies for being silent for awhile. Got really distracted and busy. Here are all the Devil May Cry-related news updates I've conjured up from September to November:
1. Devil May Cry returns in Last Cloudia.
2. Someone by the name of PresssLee on Twitter is making a fan game based on Dante's and Vergil's childhood.
3. Prime1 Studio releasing a DT version of V.
b) And more merch.
c) Plus DMC3 Dante and Vergil, coming soon.
4. The English version of the DMCV art book is coming.
5. New Devil May Cry apparel at the CapCom store.
6. The Devil May Cry: Peak/Pinnacle of Combat mobile game gets more updates soon, which includes switching characters in real time, unlockable playable Nero, special move cutscenes, and more.
7. Devil May Cry V now reaches over 6 million copies sold.
b) Not to mention it's currently one of CapCom's top selling games.
c) And Itsuno talks about his development adventures, with DMCV included in the discussion.
d) And Itsuno also discusses his struggles with the PS3 and Xbox360 era.
8. Dante’s DMCV face model, Adam Cowie, dressed up as Dante for Halloween.
9. The creator of Fable admits to using some ideas from the Devil May Cry games.
10. Big decision I’ve made on my part. I used to run a DMC4-Screenshotz Photobucket page to store all of these screenshots I’ve taken of Devil May Cry 4 for the purpose of linking it onto my long, forgotten website. Due to drastic, unlikeable changes made on Photobucket’s part, and losing interest in maintaining the site due to its limitations in the free version, I’ve decided to completely remove that Photobucket account, and all of its screenshots with it.
My Thoughts On These Updates:
1. Not a mobile game fan, but nice to see that some collab projects are making returns.
2. That’s awesome that we get a fan game. I remember when me and a few friends wanted to make our own when the reboot got announced back in the day due to us being unhappy about the direction CapCom was going in. But we had to scrap the idea due to being too busy.
3. Those DMC3 figures are looking pretty great so far. I understand they’re just computer generated, so they might not be the official final look. You never know. I do see some hints of Naru Omori’s style being implemented into these figures. And I love how Dante finally gets a slice of pizza as part of a collectible item.
4. I’d see Japanese fans help translate some of the stuff from the art book, but of course things end up being vague since they’re just concept images and nothing more. Plus certain kanji can be a bit hard to translate.
5. Those clothes are looking SSStylish.
6. I remember hearing rumours of Nero becoming an unlockable character, so it looks like it might actually be a thing. That’s cool how you can change characters in real time as well. And from what I’ve seen in the latest gameplay vids, it once again has gone through a lot of changes with the visuals and characters’ faces. Wonder what new updates there will be after these ones.
7. So happy for CapCom that Devil May Cry V is doing so great. Gives us fans hope about their future of game development and release choices. Fans are still discussing to this day on what DMC6 will offer.
I agree and imagine the PS3 and Xbox360 era being a bit of a difficult era to work with. Microtransactions, DLC, and all that tricky marketing stuff are what got introduced and changed the gaming business from then on. Even working with different equipment for better visuals and all of that.
Devil May Cry 4 in my opinion wasn’t really up to its hype. Yes, it introduced some new and interesting things, and the cutscenes were very enjoyable to watch, and of course those that enjoyed the mechanics got a kick out of the whole Bloody Palace and SSStylish tournament-related stuff. But the way the game played out just got so boring, and definitely would’ve been as great as DMCV and/or DMC3 if they delayed the game further and implemented what they wanted to from the start. I feel they released DMC4 at a pretty bad time.
8. I was wondering when we were gonna see Adam dressed up as Dante again.
9. Of course, many struggling companies or businesses would want some “inspiration” from good titles. Fable was pretty good and amusing. Never thought they’d take ideas from Devil May Cry. I’m even still trying to wrap my head around where the elements of Devil May Cry are in it.
10. It’s no biggie that I decided to remove my Photobucket account and all of its contents...I can always show my love of Devil May Cry another way.
11. There is one other thing I was gonna mention here which was about that drama involving Platinum Games and Bayo’s original voice actress Hellena Taylor. I’ve decided not to bring that up ‘cause it’s more about Bayonetta than Devil May Cry. In other words, a different topic. Yes, Bayo does have some very minor ties with DMC, and Hideki Kamiya from Platinum was the original director of DMC, but I’d rather keep it just exclusively Devil May Cry-related.
If you want my thoughts on it, though, I don’t really have anything since I’m not much of a Bayonetta fan. At first, I heard that Kamiya left Twitter for good, but it turned out that he didn’t leave after all. And Hellena’s one sneaky, greedy, and pompous individual. Yes, I’ve heard of voice actors/actresses getting treated poorly, and yes we do see Kamiya act unprofessional and insane at times. But in Hellena’s case, she’s just seeking for attention to cause a stir, and mislead fans for her own gain. That’s all I’ve gotta say.

It could have been romantic as he has her picture in one of his mourning lockets that he wore up until the Campania arc)
Ronald: Die4u~ Bring Me The Horizon (While Ronald might be a flirt and party animal I believe that maybe his suicide and him becoming a reaper had to do with someone he loved deeply only to have his heart broken by this person. It was a toxic kind of love though as the song kind of depicts a toxic love bombing relationship between two people. I think that could be why Ronald is a flighty person. Since that relationship leading to his demise, he has trouble with trust and opening his heart to others. I ship him and Grell though. <3 I feel like Grell would be understanding towards him regarding her own demise and trauma and accept him as he is broken pieces and all. And unfortunately while the anime had him misgendering her (we can’t have nice things ;( ) I headcanon him seeing Grell as a whole ass woman and being an active listener and shoulder to cry on. He would definitely accept her too. Lengthy explanation I know… I hope I phrased things correctly :/ )
Hannah: I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend ~ Girl in Red (self explanatory)
Madam Red: Mirrors ~ PVRIS (I think this song has Redcliff vibes. <3 Grell is a mousy butler by day and a radiant af supernatural being at night. The lyric saying “Darling don’t be so shy I’ll see you at midnight,” I think suggests by day Grell is just a butler that Madam Red yells at and bosses around as a cover but by midnight they’re lovers on a killing spree. Then when morning comes Grell is back to mousy butler mode and they have to play the part of servant and royalty. And in the morning, Madam Red waits for a secret rendezvous with her goregous reaper at nighttime and so on and so on. Also Madam Red knows Grell’s true nature as a grim reaper and that she’s not human and dead inside as the song keeps saying. Yet she can’t resist Grell despite her lover killing her in the end over her not wanting to kill her own nephew.)

:) I managed to write nearly 15k of words during July Camp^^ which is quite nice considering I’ve not been feeling the best for a while.
Within those ~15k words is the finished first draft of Clockmaker 4!^^ (It’s almost 11k! So far, hah.) I’ll edit it in the next days and it should be ready and up by Friday or Saturday. (Sunday morning (for me) at the latest.) No super long wait this time. What a relief.
Lately, I’ve noticed that WotQ is getting accessed a bit more often than before (and I got 3 (!!) public bookmarks since the last update on AO3 which is a LOT to me; and 5 this year so far which never happened before; also more kudos??) which is nice but also super weird. Keeping the momentum (?) with another update just two months later (while I still can).
Clockmaker 4 is the last part (this time, it really is the last part XD) of the Clockmaker chapters. Preparation for what follows will take a while, I think, so I can’t (as always) say when the next chapter will come. Maybe I’ll just interlude by finally (!!!) getting to Henriette 2 while making prepartions. Maybe.
Last month, I also worked and (almost) finished my zine piece. (It’s due today 🙈) I applied on a whim, certain I would never ever get picked - and then I did. It was so much fun to write that piece; I haven’t written for that fandom in years and it was nice to return for a little while. Anyway, I also wrote some more snippets which are under the cut :)

Happy 188th birthday Claudia!!

The Red Devil’s Chronicles: Jan. 2021 Devil May Cry Updates: Brad V, Collabs, Etc.
Hey, how's it going? Hope you all had a wonderful and safe new year, and hope 2021's been nice to y'all so far. Just a heads up, all of the 2019 journals in my Deviantart group will be deleted any day this year to clean up how many journals there are there, plus feeling that there's no need for older news updates. Here are all of January 2021′s Devil May Cry news updates I’ve compiled:
1. HYDE Defeat music video, featuring Devil May Cry V.
b) Speaking of music, Reddit sang Bury The Light.
c) Alex Moukala's interview with Casey Edwards about Bury The Light.
2. Hideaki Itsuno teases another game in the works.
3. More updates for the Pinnacle of Combat Mobile game such as:
a) Vergil concept.
b) Beowulf and Kalina Ann showcase.
c) Lady's costume set.
4. Griffon in Devil May Cry V's voice actor Brad Venable passes away.
5. Ali Express is making the Dante and Vergil Asmus Toys figures as their models for dolls' clothing.
6. The CapCom Café event has surfaced again with more amazing winter art.
7. Last Cloudia, featuring Devil May Cry V.
8. All 3 covers for the Visions of V manga series.
b) Speaking of which, it's updated again.
9. Journalists have decided to target Dante's voice Reuben Langdon once again by completely taking a Tweet (now deleted) out of context (Full conversation and info on what happened in my Facebook post here).
My Thoughts On These Updates:
1. Lovely stuff we've got goin' on with the music stuff.
2. Wonder what Itsuno's next project will be? My guesses are Dragon's Dogma 2, Devil May Cry 6, a Devil May Cry game remake, or a new unknown game title. Back in March 2020, there was the update about how a former Platinum Games CEO is collaborating with CapCom on a huge remake project (Could be RE4 Remake or a Devil May Cry one). And back in May 2020, CapCom plans to release major new titles by this year, including celebrating an anniversary of a Devil May Cry game (stated at end of article), it is DMC1's 20th anniversary after all. Only one way to find out.
3. It's about time Yunchang games released more development content for Pinnacle of Combat and not any other promotional work, which is what they've done for awhile. These updates are quite nice.
4. May Brad V rest in peace...It's been a bash hearing him voicing as Griffon in DMCV. It's always heart-breaking hearing the passing of young, talented individuals.
5. Foreign marketplace sites can be so hilarious at times with their advertising. Gotta admit that Dante looks pretty nice in that getup, though.
6. I love the new art work that the CapCom Café's been coming out with as of late. It shows more character with the characters.
7. Never heard of Last Cloudia, but it's nice that the Devil May Cry characters are once again featuring in other game titles.
8. I always enjoy new updates of the Visions of V manga series. Still curious how long it's gonna go on for. It's definitely going longer than the DMC3 manga series did. It sucks that the DMC3 manga didn't finish, but at the same time I feel it's for the best. The concept of that particular series was strange (both story and dialogue-wise), and I feel like the artist got pressured a little too much when it came to deadlines and details, which explains how some of the art work looked a tad unfinished in that one.

It makes me upset how low journalists will go to make someone look bad by taking something these celebrities say completely out of context, then twisting their words around to get their fans riled up in an attempt to cancel them. And for what purpose? Glad that article got deleted, because what were they thinking? (You can still see the article's title, even when searching on Google, but when you click on the link the page doesn't exist.)
If you talk to Reuben yourself and get to know him, he is one awesome guy despite how some of his views can be questionable. This isn't the only time journalists went after Reuben and twisted his words around to make him look bad (scroll to the Reuben Langdon bit in article).
It's really sad that some Devil May Cry fans even believed everything those journalists said, and went as far as saying, "Reuben needs to be canceled for this", or "I don't want him playing as Dante anymore because of this". One of the big elite players even stated on Twitter, "CapCom will cancel Reuben before Cancel Culture gets to him". I really hope nothing bad happens with his career at CapCom. He's a nice addition there, and part of CapCom wouldn't be what they are without him on the team.

Hi!
Everything is fine, thanks! I hope all's well on your end too.^^
I'm busy with uni right now, so I haven't got around to writing anything for WotQ lately. My schedule will lighten up again after next week though :)
My current plan after next week is to finish the second part of "The Curious Disappearance of Lady Henriette Woolahan" before I'll continue with Clockmaker 3 (I started both). I want to finish Curious Disappearance by the end of February/beginning of March, so Clockmaker 3 will likely come in late March/sometime in April. Let's see how it goes. (And this schedule is fast for me!)
So, it will take a while for Cloudia and Cedric to return... I managed to do a small update last month though and the next update will be a long one again!
(And Cedric is in Curious Disappearance in person and Cloudia in spirit! That counts too (for me). I miss them too and it counts, okay?)
Also, April is Camp Nanowrimo and I intend to participate this year again :) Even more writing!
