Exalted house placements

We often talk about exalted placements only about the signs they are exalted in : Aries sun, Capricorn mars, Pisces Venus,…

Rarely do we talk about the house placements that are exalted and actually are a blessing to anyone who have them.

So no matter the sign, the exalted house placement can create an abundant energy in a birth chart.

Sun in 1st house

Strong will power, incredible energy, easily attract attention without even trying, balanced ego (after many ego deaths), can switch up their style easily, great personality and great leaders.

Moon in 2th house

Sensitive, compassionate, balanced emotions and peaceful inner world, not easily overwhelmed, completely in charge of their behaviours/emotions.

Mercury in 1st house

Sharp and details oriented mind, huge intelligence and learn easily any subject, big boss of debates, smart asf.

Mars in 10th house

Powerful presence, big boss energy, plenty of drive and energy, get things done, goal getter, ambitious and career oriented, bde.

Venus in 12th house

Compassionate, loving, giving, love unconditionally, love has no boundaries, artistic abilities, hidden talents, romantic asf.

Great wisdom, fast learner, blessed, spiritual, age gracefully, comes from wealth/big family and if not will have a wealthy life, a big house or a big family of their own.

Pluto in 1st house

Powerful presence and overall energy, divinely protected, high regeneration skills, always come back stronger, power comes from their identity, know who they are deeply.

Neptune in 5th house

Great acting skills, the real drama queens/kings, creative asf, sublime artist, perfect placement to be an actor/singer/entertainer, romantic and mesmerising presence and energy, good intuition.

Uranus in 8th house

The real phoenixes, rise above, constant fast and life altering transformations, cold head, acceptance of changes, always evolving, cannot be tamed, know what’s up, stand in their power, masters of the underworld.

This post is based mostly on tropical astrology and also on Vedic astrology because some of these placements are considered the same way in Vedic astrology aka Sun in 1st house, Venus in 12th house, Saturn in 7th house and Mars in 10th house.

Explaining Dignities: Exaltation

The reason why I want to talk about them is because I've actually seen dignities play a big role in readings, as they do describe how well or adverse certain matters can play out for the querent...so here's a little analogy to understand them better!

Context: In Hellenistic (traditional) astrology, exalted planets are said to be like the favorite guests of a given sign (host), so the resources they have at their disposal are equal or even greater than the host's. In other words, imagine a queen or king being invited to a neighboring kingdom, they will be treated with the greatest of honors and commodities! In a practical aspect, this means that the qualities of that planet (the guest) will be able to shine at their maximum, making that particular area of life (house) easier or more fortunate for the owner of the birth chart.

*Mind that below I’m speaking metaphorically of “house” as the SIGN the planet is exalted, and not the astrological house as such (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). *

Sun in Aries: Sun is a friend of Mars, as both rule fire signs and are leaders by nature. Mars is delighted to receive his royal friend, as he’s anxious to show him how noble, honorable, brave, and pioneer he is, and just how much he has achieved on his own. His job is to win wars for the kingdom after all! He’s thrilled to share his best tactics and borrow his friend his most treasured weaponry. The Sun feels comfortable because he has all he needs to command freely in this household, as his creativity, charisma, leadership and authenticity are praised by his friend. Together, they come up with solutions and strategies to conquer whatever they want! They are not afraid of competition or enemies, as both are equally ambitious and powerful in their own ways. Mars trusts the Sun, as he believes nobody is as visionary and talented enough to lead as he does. The Sun, in return, feels even more driven and powerful to accomplish his goals, as he has access to an incredible arsenal and his mission is thoroughly supported by his friend’s energy and fiery ability to execute his plans.

Moon in Taurus: The Moon feels really welcomed in one of Venus’ places, as both value beauty, security, domestic life and emotional closeness. They speak the same language, as both love to connect and celebrate relationships. They allure through tact and sweetness instead of brute force as their counterparts (the Sun and Mars) do. The Moon loves Taurus’ palace since she’s fascinated by beautiful art, exquisite food, overgrowing nature, dreamy romance, and abundant wealth… she’s just so inspired and fulfilled with this kind of luxury and magnificence! In here she has firm and solid grounds to step on, so her moods and emotional needs are stable as well. Jupiter is aware of this, but he sometimes can lose himself in fantasies and utopic scenarios, where he wishes things could be different instead of trying to build them into reality. ASTRO BASICS #4: UNDERSTANDING DOMICILE, EXALTED, DETRIMENT AND FALL PLACEMENTS (ESSENTIAL DIGNITIES)

THE ESSENTIAL DIGNITIES:

domicile: the planet is in it's home sign (comfortable)

exaltation: the planet is elevated (comfortable)

detriment: the planet is opposite to the home sign (uncomfortable)

fall: the planet is opposite to the exalted sign (uncomfortable)

when a planet is in domicile or exaltation it means the planet is comfortable in the sign it is in. this results in:

the placement becoming powerful (strong)

the placement being "too much" (overabundance of the planet's energy)

Exalted Planets

When a planet is exalted in a sign that means its energy is easily expressed through it. There is potential and motivation when a planet is exalted. While mostly considered a favorable placement, even when planets are exalted, they still have challenges they may face.

Sun in Aires is exalted, this is the easiest place for the Sun. This makes since considering Aries is closely tied to individuality, independence, forwardness, assertiveness, and confidence. The Fire element is very self-focused but Aries tends to carry the stereotype the most. They do represent the head of the body, beginnings, the first, the winner, there is a special self-interest and definition of self for this sign. It is all about personality and ego in a very raw form. But Aries can still worry about what others think - they may care from a more selfish point of view, but they aren't totally immune to self-doubt. This is an impatient and brash sign, and due to their focus on competition, conflict, wants, and ambition they may lack introspection or easily be blinded to their flaws.

Moon in Taurus is exalted, this placement for the Moon is comfortable. The Taurus Moon is steady, takes their time making decisions, can find inner security, and relies on their down-to-earth strength and intuition. They can easily get in touch with both their creativity and practicality. But Moon in Taurus can be incredibly stubborn and find it hard to change their mind - especially about how they feel. They can be naturally cautious, but this can sometimes be pushed to the extreme of being suspicious. Taurus's traits of jealousy, possessiveness, and materialism can still exist here. Moon in Taurus can have a deep insecurity surrounding stability and wanting.

Mercury is exalted in Virgo, Mercury is expressed with ease here but is also refined. Mercury is still quick-witted, clever, curious, and can have a silver-tongue in Virgo - but Mercury in Virgo is also more patient, logical, practical, and efficient. Mercury gets less scattered in Virgo, it is still flexible, funny, maybe gossipy, and certainly smart, but attentive and detail oriented. But Mercury in Virgo can over think, have a lot of restless energy or anxiety, their perfectionist trait can be both a pro and con, and their critical side can be challenging, they likely are their biggest critic. Because Virgo is sometimes sourced as being associated with prudence, shyness, humility, and being accommodating it may surprise that talkative and social Mercury is most comfortable here. But maybe this placement can help clear up misunderstanding for the sign, also it is important to remember Mercury doesn't just rule communication.

Venus is exalted in Pisces, Venus here gets to be the hopeless romantic, the poet, the dreamer, the artist, the lover. Venus in Pisces is very romantic, is imaginative, giving, self-sacrificing, likely affectionate, passionate, and adaptable. Venus in Pisces is not afraid of intimacy in fact this placement is known for trying to join or become one with a partner, sometimes at risk of losing themselves in a partner. Pisces has sometimes been referred to as the one sign that can seem to be compatible with any other sign (Gemini also has gotten this reputation too). But while Venus in Pisces can find it easy to get along with others and easy to love they can be used, put others on a pedestal, may fall in love with an idea or fantasy rather than the actual person, can be manipulative or easily manipulated themselves, and find it hard to separate.

Mars is exalted in Capricorn, Mars in this placement has its sh#@ together. Mars may not seem as impatient or hot-headed here but this is where the planet of war can be strategic, disciplined, thoughtful, and ambitious. While Capricorn usually has a reputation for being cold know this placement is still fully assertive, hungry, and sensual. Mars in Capricorn has good judgment for being cautious and waiting vs. taking action. There can be a ruthlessness about them or a controlling side, which can be seen as flaws, but Mars being the planet of force, aggression, passion, action that can be debatable. Mars in Capricorn can sometimes lack the wisdom or luck that can come with brash decisions and instinct. They can also be hard-headed at times or rely too much on practicality or logic. Mars in Capricorn can also find it hard to express or accept their more physical and passionate side in terms of love and intimacy, despite having a high libido or having ambitious desires in relationships.

Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, expanding and generous Jupiter may feel cozy in this sign. Here Jupiter is nurturing, caring, romantic, giving, sensitive, intuitive, and creative. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and with the depths of Cancer many describe this placement has having never-ending generosity, understanding, and sympathy. Abundance comes in warm, healing waters or "killing with kindness". This placement can be loyal, protective, and craves emotional attachment. Jupiter may at times dramatize the flaws of Cancer through being over-protective, easily used by others, may have a touchy or moody side that blinds them, and their attachment may become smothering and/or toxic. There is a soothing and gentle side to this placement but there can also be a stormy side. They may indulge in emotional thrills which could turn a normally cautious and compassionate sign to more of a risk taker or reckless. This placement has potential for experiencing the human condition in a beautiful and sensitive way, they can be great counselors, teachers, and healers. This placement may learn a lot about listening to their intuition and feelings - but they have to be careful of never giving into their own ghosts and waves.

Saturn is exalted in Libra, here Saturn can stay cool-headed and logical but is lightened by this Air sign. Predicting the chart of your future spouse

First of all, thank you to @harmoonix for inspiring me to make this post!

I wanted to share some key thing I've observed that you should look out for in your Groom (5129) and Briede (19029) persona charts if you want to know what placements your future spouse might have. Look at Groom PC if you're looking to marry a man and Briede PC if you're looking to marry a woman. These asteroids move very slowly so in order to get more insight about your person looking at these charts is important

For other options you can apply these to Descendent PC and to a lesser extent Juno PC, those can ring true as well, but the main research of this post is focused on Groom/briede

These are patterns I've extracted based on my research analyzing the charts of married couples. Presented in no particular order

… in the groom/briede pc. This I’ve seen correlated mainly to the Sun or Asc of spouse since it is indicative of their main personality traits and characteristics. It can also relate to other prominent placements/energies of spouse

Hailey Bieber has Scorpio ASC in her Groom PC and Justin Bieber is a Scorpio ASC

Justin Bieber has Sagittarius ASC in his Briede PC and Hailey is a Sagittarius ASC

One of my clients had Cancer ASC on her Groom PC and her husband was a water ASC with moon in his 1st house

Blake Lively has Sagittarius ASC with Uranus, Saturn and Neptune 1st house in her Groom PC and her husband Ryan is a mutable rising. It’s worth mentioning the he’s also known for having a bold, eccentric (Uranus) and humorous personality, he's also older than her (Saturn) and he's from a different country (sag). He also has Sagittarius IC and Venus

Joanne Woodward has Virgo Asc in her Groom pc with its ruler falling in Libra and her husband Paul Newman was an earth rising with Venus and Mercury conjunct his Asc

Most common case in my research: spouse’s moon is in the same element or modality as the moon in the Groom/Bride pc

Other example is a client of mine had Cancer moon in his Briede pc and his wife had Moon-Jupiter conjunction in her chart (jupiter expands moon’s qualities and is also exalted in cancer)

Dignities

pay attention to this one!!! I’ve seen it being SO accurate! I’ve noticed that if a planet (particularly inner planet) is in good or bad dignity in your groom/briede pc, your fs will likely have that planet in one of its signs of domicile, exaltation, fall or detriment. This also makes that particular planet significant in your person’s chart (meaning it might be dominant, on the angles, in joy houses, etc)

Mila Kunis has Scorpio Mars (mars’ domicile) in her Groom PC and Ashton Kutcher is a Cancer Mars (mars’ detriment)

She also has Sun in Aries (sun’s exaltation) in her groom pc chart and Ashton in an Aquarius Sun (sun’s debilitation)

The client I mentioned above also had Aries Sun in his briede pc and his wife had her Sun in the 9th house (sun’s joy)

Blake Lively has Taurus Moon (moon’s exaltation) in her Groom PC and Ryan is a Scorpio Moon (moon’s detriment)

Grace Kelly had Libra Venus (venus domicile) in her Groom pc and her husband was a Taurus Venus (venus domicile)

💜 you could feel sleepier during years you have pisces rising in the solar chart

💜 having mars in the 12th can also indicate taking way more naps that year too

💜 years which you have mars retrograde could be years where you tackle past/buried issues

💜 mars conjunct another planet shows having to fight for your place/goals related to the house that the other planet rules (ex: leo in 11th house -> mars conjunct sun (the ruler of 11th house in this case) could mean that you have to put more effort to be included in group activities)

💜 also mars conjunct sun is a BUSY year

💜 where the asteroids forte (8780) and fama (408) land in your sr chart show the most prominent themes in your year ahead as well as the houses where leo and cancer fall

💜 conversely, the houses that capricorn and aquarius occupy are themes that you’re hung up on throughout the year, it’s hard to bring these themes to your satisfaction

💜 having the chart ruler of your juno persona chart for that year in the 12th house can indicate a loss of friends or a partner that year

💜 having pallas conjunct your 12th house ruler can show that you are constructive and productive even in times of distress or isolation throughout the year

💜 having venus trine uranus can indicate a lot of fun in the year ahead, especially with online friends, games, social media, etc…

💜 planets that trine neptune create ease/relaxation (ex: mercury trine neptune could mean less school or social stress in the year ahead)

💜 pay attention to when saturn is on the angles (asc, dsc, ic, mc), those are most likely going to be especially important years where you reach the pinnacle of some sphere in your life (the house tells you which theme/sphere)

💜 juno in the 12th house can indicate having secret admirers that year

💜 wherever aries chiron lands in your sr chart shows where you’re forced to endure and overcome wounds, there’s no escape (especially if it’s retrograde)

💜 having aries or scorpio in the 10th or mc shows breaking barriers/records that year (whether that’s on a personal or community level)

💜 similarly, having capricorn/aquarius in the mc/10th can also mean breaking records/barriers but the recognition and/or fulfillment you should receive will most likely have to wait

💜 aphrodite (1388) indicates where there’s the most drama in the year ahead

💜 having any of the work houses’ (2, 6, 10) rulers on the angles represents a culmination/fruition of a project or goal

💜 having pluto in the first house of your mc persona chart could mean a significant change in your goals/career/ambitions

💜 i recommend looking at your solar return chart ruler’s persona chart for more details about what could happen in the year ahead

💜 pluto aspecting the mc in your solar chart shows a step up in power/reputation by doing something significant

💜 having the sun placed in the 8th house in your talent asteroid (33154) pc shows doing something ground-breaking and amazing with your talents

💜 having the 7th house ruler in the 5th house means that your relationships with others bring lots of good opportunities to you (fun, travel, doing games, etc…)

💜 having aries or scorpio as the rising sign of your mc pc for that year indicates a lot of activity in your work and/or public life

💜 having a 1st house stellium can show a fresh start in the sign the stellium is in (ex: libra stellium in the 1st house can show a new beauty regiment that you take on in the year ahead)
