Summary:
Mushed into the pillow, the mound had the audacity to mumble, “Five more minutes.”
Merlin stilled, gaped in outrage, then threw his arms wide. He resembled a very flustered pelican.
“You— Five more minutes?! You woke up from a–a fifteen hundred year nap four months ago and you want to sleep in for another five - more - minutes?”
“Mnhmm….” Lips smacked lazily. “Too early.”
Merlin’s eyebrows jumped up his forehead and he leapt into his next words with a scoff, “Oh, I’ll show you ‘early’.”
The mound went very, very still and then rocketed up like a jack-in-the-box.
“Don’t you dare,” said Arthur, sheets puddled in his lap.
---
After the royal prat made his grand re-entrance, Merlin took Arthur away to a little stone farmhouse (that he had purchased a century or two earlier) in order to better help him adjust to the present day where the cacophony of modern life would be less overwhelming. However, the place is old and needs its upkeep, so Merlin goes to wake His Majesty up for a day of gardening.
Not that any gardening is accomplished.

The Honorary Janeth
👻A GHOST STORY
Fandom: Tales of Arcadia (Cartoons)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archives Warnings Apply
Relationships/Characters: Lenora Janeth, Original Characters
Theme: Origin Story, Set in the '70s, Explorations of Regret, Loss, Family, Duty
Lenora heads to her grandparent's house during vacation while her elder sister is at college, but magic follows her everywhere she goes and she can't shake the feeling life has a different calling for her than performing Shakespeare at the Globe.
Lenora had been on the road with her parents since four in the morning and the sun was beginning to set. She stifled a yawn, her eyes sleepily on the trees as they whizzed passed. It was dark, and she was tired, a fact she tried to keep in mind.
It made sense to her as her head bounced violently against her hand as the car hit a pothole in the road. Yes, it made sense that her brain would invent something to follow with her eyes. Something of interest. Such as a shadowy figure that ran, leapt, on all fours.
Still, her eyes fell on the shadowy figure, almost human-like, although the portions were off, like a giraffe had chosen to disguise itself as a human but hadn’t been entirely successful.
She wondered what part of her mind it had come from, what deep recesses of her psyche or unfettered reserves of imagination it had sprung. Lenora supposed if it spoke, she wasn’t so certain it could, the words would be breathless, raspy, almost longing in their hunger.
Perhaps it hunted her like a beast, or it chased after her like an inhuman devotee, desperate to cling to its unknowing mistress. Perhaps, long ago it had once been human, but time and circumstances had twisted, changed it beyond its mortal form.
A tragic fate, left to yearning for the tenderness that had long slipped its grasp.
— Ties in with Whispers Within, Under the Wave, Searching for the C and the rest of The Heart of Janus au.

Habits that changed my life for the better
I stopped joking about myself. It was mostly about suicide jokes (it was a decision that I made after the worst moment of my journey with depression, if I can call it that), but, really, it's about all self-deprecating stuff. It may be just jokes, but it stays in your brain.
Positive attitude. It's similar to manifestation, in a way, but in a... down to earth way, I guess. Thinking positively about stuff changes everything for me. Almost everything is simpler.
I deleted Twitter. It may be a different social media for everyone, of course - now probably TikTok for most - but, well, Twitter was where I spent long hours everyday. I started taking breaks from it about a year and a half ago and deleted it in August. It was hard - I loved the community there and I miss the daily updates from my fav fandoms, but it's for the best. I still can't explain how Twitter affected me but I do feel better since I stopped spending so much time there.
Taking vitamins. I didn't think it would really make a difference but it definitely did. The biggest surprise for me was vitamin C - my immune system has improved super quickly when I started supplementing it. I didn't even realise how bad it was before. Other than that, I take B complex, A+E (hair, skin), and iron (i tend to have a deficiency of it). (& D when it's winter).
Having a consistent skin care routine. It's calming and both doing the routine and seeing the effects make me feel better. (I do realise that many people have more demanding skin than me and searching for the right products can be frustrating and expensive. I'm just talking about my experience).
Other things that I think are worth mentioning:
Therapy - just a short explanation that I've been on therapy (with breaks) for about 6 years now. I've had social anxiety for most of my life, now still struggle with depression (and amnesia, actually) a bit, but what I wanted to mention here is that I learned a lot from it. It's obvious, but I just think it's important to pinpoint that I did not just learn how to think more positively and love myself by myself.
Exercising! - I still struggle to make it a habit, but when I actually do exercise regularly (I do pilates), I really feel better. It's worth it.
Hydration - same with drinking water. I really don't think I have to explain it in any way lol.

Kinda late to the party, but looking back, this is kinda objectively funny
That is the face of a man unsure of what exactly is touching him but is too polite (or freaked out) to say or do anything
There is an extensive list of things that are confusing him in that moment, and the humanoid fungus grabbing his wrist is in the top 5

Remembrance by @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning
I finished binding Remembrance by @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning, which is the next part of The Desert Storm Epic. This is currently volume 2 of a projected 14/15 volumes!
some stats:
97,852 words || 384 pages
Title font: Ghaomiec
i'm still using the lovely @celestial-sphere-press' beautiful typesets. Sticking with the current theme, i decided to do Coruscant this time, with the Jedi Temple front and centre. Egged on by Des, this design is something like 10 times more complicated and took an entire hour to weed. The bookcloth is Colibri Copper, while endpapers are @renato-crepaldi, whose papers i love. I finished the bind with gold and brown silk endbands in 3 colours. Am likely to vary it up a little with the next volume with a different bookcloth colour, just for kicks.
Next up, I do have one more FFWAD bind to complete, and once i'm done with that, my physical stack of textblocks will have decreased to 4 (SUCCESS) and i can let myself print more things. Am working on my list of author copies as usual, slowly but surely.
i'm also waiting on legal paper (in the right grain this time) very excitedly, because i want to make more legal quarto books.
