Stripe are trying my patience; I got a payment only it never went into my bank account and now I'm panicking because I needed that money to be able to eat while I'm away at my autism assessment; I have to travel three hours away by train and stay in a hotel for two nights because it's not viable to travel back the same day and my anxiety is already through the roof!

i've written 36k for this fic but my brain has reached the point where it keeps telling me im a sucky writer and should just quit and ahhh i need the anxiety to shut up and just let me have fun and not have imposter syndrome

Astronaut!Hob au / Rescue Dream

If you had an enemy you couldn’t kill but wished to imprison without counting on something as fickle and unreliable as humans to keep them safely locked away, what would you do?

The Corinthian, figured, he’d ship them so space. Namely, one creator, lord, and ruler— the one who gave him shape and thought— the King of Nightmares, Morpheus, Dream of the Endless.

After a few decades in the basement, which was meant to be only a temporary solution, he had made arrangements, through that and that manner of bribe and intimidation.

He, however, could not have predicted how fast humankind would find its way to space, as opposed to sending test rockets that to the most part, fell apart.

In some migor twenty years there’s humans in space.

Some odd forty years after that fact, one man, is crazy enough to forsake protocol and jump out of the spaceship in only his spacesuit at the very first sight of the odd sphere plaungaring through the empty expanse of the space.

An odd sphere with a very, very human form in it.

Hob doesn’t stop to think about it, doesn’t stop to worry about all the crazy alien documentaries he and his buddies watched for the laughs, doesn’t even think long enough to double-check the oxygen.

Later, he thinks, he should have died. There wasn’t enough Oxygen in the tank to last the amount of time it took him to figure how on earth he could get that man, (creature....? Alien....?)(His brain kicked in long enough to realize no human could still be alive, naked in space, as such) , out without them getting hurt. Then, how he could get the entire fucking thing into the spaceship.

The Corinthian had failed to predict three things, how soon humans would travel the space, how insane some of them can be, and that not all the Endless are as unlikely to get involved as first presumed.
