I have a few story snippets I’ve written out but never shared. This one might be my favorite of the lot, so take a peek at it. Writing isn’t my forte, so let me know what you think!
Slight Beel x Female MC (my MC, Robin)
Real missing Robin hours
Her knees were caked in dirt as she dug the spade into the ground. Some chamomile, lavender, and maybe valerian, she pondered, moving to stand and dropping her tool haphazardly.
Stepping back, she weaved around the mess of tools in her path, heading for the sprouts she had been germinating. Stepping up to her tables, she clicked her tongue, the valerian needed a few more days. She lifted her tray of chamomile sprouts, reaching for her watering can, before her D.D.D rang.
“Hello?” she hummed, moving to cradle the device between her shoulder and cheek, turning to walk back to her discarded spade.
“Robin, you picked up” the groggy voice on the other end murmured.
“That’s what you’re supposed to do when someone calls you, Beel”
“It’s early,” he squeezed his pillow to his face, hiding his flushed cheeks.
“Is it?” She muttered, drawing her phone away as she eyed the time, “not for me at least”
She tapped the speaker button, kneeling back down and balancing the phone on the nearby garden bed, “You’re usually up working out by now, you alright?”
He didn’t respond, staring ahead at his slumbering twin.
The silence sent a pang through her heart, the nightmares were back. She grabbed another sprout clump and got to work, waiting to see if he wanted to talk. He kept silent.
“... Diavolo told me that he’s working to find an easier way to send packages between realms.” She hummed, lightly breaking up the soil and roots on the next sprout, “as soon as he figures that out, I have to send you all human realm care packages.”
His ears perked up, “Those have snacks in them, right?”
She smiled, “Yes, Beel. They usually have snacks.”
He smiled into his pillow.
“I’ll send you one with all snacks,” she decided, “some junk food that I enjoy, some homemade desserts that can handle the transit, and maybe some teas”
“Tea?”
“I run a shop up here, and I use some of my product to make teas,” she got to work breaking up another clump of roots. “They’re always mixed with a tiny bit of magic depending on the brew, mostly just the brews meant to help with sleep”
“Belphie will love those,”
“I’ll be sure to send him extra, but I meant some for you. I have a few brews that help with getting to sleep,” she paused, “or helping ease the mind to stay asleep.”
He pressed his face further into the pillow and muttered something
“Beel?”
“… Thanks,”
“Of course,”
A comfortable silence hung over the two, Beel finally drew his face from his pillow, “Hey, Robin?”
“Yes?”
“If you could come back to the Devildom, would you?”
“In a heartbeat”
He grinned for a moment, reveling in her quick answer. “Come back soon, I miss you”
“I’ll see what I can do, Beel” she leaned back onto her haunches “Now hurry onto your workout, Mammon’ll get huffy if he finds out you called today”
“Oh yeah,” he straightened his legs out, moving to stand, “Bye, Robin.”
“Bye Beel”
He hesitated for a moment before he ended the call, he stared down at the now blank screen. A slow smile blossomed across his face as he dropped his phone back onto the bed and got ready to start his day.
