It took me until this week to realise how much season two has changed my perspective on... well almost everything Good Omens.
I finally rewatched season 1 for the first time since Neil broke my stupid little heart. Honestly, I had convinced myself that I was over the heartbreak.
Do I torture myself on this website on a regular basis? Yes. Do I refuse to read fics without a "hurt/comfort" tag? Yes. But I was fine. I was healing. I was good. I was over it.
Did episode 3 hit differently after everything I'd been through after S2? A bit. But nothing I didn't expect.
And then there was S1E6. The Ritz. Nightingales. And I just wasn't ready. I had heard that song a thousand times throughout the last few weeks. But context does seem to matter. Because here I was, three notes in, sobbing mercilessly.
This scene used to be a safe space for me. A warm little patch of sunshine to curl up in, when I felt down. It was hot cocoa on a rainy autumn day. It projected to so much love and comfort. And now it's all twisted.
The contrast to S2E6 couldn't be sharper. Oh, what a beautiful web of similarities Neil has woven for us. Here are our two favourite idiots, smiling at each other, so in love, not a care in the world, because the world is safe and they are toasting it. Yet I know, what the future holds for them. I know, how incapable of truely communicating they are. I know, how they will break each others hearts, paving each others way to hell with all the best intentions.
You have to hand to Neil. He really knows how to tell a good story.
I haven't dared to listen to " A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square" in the last week. It will take me a good long while to work up the courage again.
I don't even know, how to end this mess of a post. I just hope, Neil will bring the song back in season 3 and make it be all fluffy and comfortable and lovely again.
To the world, my friends.

"thing that isn't supposed to work but it does actually work because someone believes it will work" is a really cool concept and it happens in homestuck at least twice. once with eridan's fake wand where kanaya lies to him and tells him it's real, so when he uses it he believes it will work which activates latent prince of hope powers (doc scratch kind of explains that this is how rose's wands work too; the wands aren't magic, she is) and tavros eating a button given to him by jasprose believing it to be anti-allergy medication. the whole "believing in things until they become a little less fake" is definitely a hope thing but for some reason it is also a tavros thing??

I love the idea of V's neighbors having to see none other than the world famous rockstar Kerry Eurodyne roaming around the H10 building to smooch the merc that lives a few doors down.

Crosshair with his hand on Echo's shoulder means a lot here. This is the same clone who told Rex he would have left Echo behind too because Echo was just a reg.
It's also interesting to see Echo poised between the two people involved with his rescue who ended up working for the Empire knowing that Echo has never once considered following that same path.
Echo became more machine than man but retained his humanity while Anakin becoming more machine than man allowed himself to become a monster.

Billy Batson at a convention
Hear me out on this-
Yes I know I have a billion fic ideas on my list waiting to be written, but shush!
Imagine the Justice League deciding to attend a huge superhero convention as guests of honor for their fans and meet everyone, and to also help raise their public image. They don't all appear on the same day, showing up on separate days bc of security reasons, and Captain Marvel, being a long standing member of the JL, is invited, too. He is completely ecstatic about it, but decides to decline. He says he has important Champion of Magic duties to attend to and before anyone can ask, he Flys off. JL is a bit disappointed he won't be there, but understanding.
On the days of the convention, the JL are met with endless happy fans overjoyed to meet them. They all sign autographs, shake hands, etc. They all even remember one cute fan by the name of Billy Batson who handed them all adorable hand drawn pictures of them as a little gift. He was so sweet and even got to take a picture with all of the members.
The reason CM couldn't attend the convention as CM was bc he wanted to express his love, respect and admiration to his coworkers fully. He also was too nervous to ask for their autographs before, so this was a golden opportunity to have some fun as just Billy.

SandRay is just AkkAyan spelled differently
I've lost count of the number of rewatches I've done of The Eclipse since watching it six months ago for the very first time, but once Only Friends started airing I haven't done any rewatch, just because all my thoughts these past weeks have been obsessively about Sand and Ray
BUT yesterday I found myself watching it again after months and when I got to episode 11 it hit me: SandRay's dynamic when it comes to taking care of each other is the same as AkkAyan's but backwards.
Let me explain, I was watching this specific scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this thought came into my mind: "If in The Eclipse it's Khaotung's character that takes care of First's character, especially when it comes to emotional needs, in Only Friends it's actually the opposite with First's character taking care of Khaotung's character"
Since then I haven't been able to stop noticing all the ways Ayan and Sand mirror each other when caring for their partners
Ayan looked at Akk, and saw something extraordinary. He saw this beautiful broken boy, who was hurting so much and doing it all wrong, he saw him holding on to a very thin thread just on the verge of letting go. Ayan saw all the love Akk needed, and despite being very broken himself, he never ever let go of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Akk did bad things and said awful stuff and pushed Aye away time and time again, and still Aye stayed right were he was and held him up every time Akk hit the ground.
Showed him how despite all his flaws, all his mistakes, he was still someone worthy of love.
And so throughout their journey Ayan gave his heart and soul, took all the love he could muster and stood firm by Akk's side, no matter what.
Ayan made no excuses for Akk's behavior, held him accountable, called him out when he was doing something wrong and at the same time offered Akk all the support he needed to get out of that bad place because he knew how necessary it was to have a support system.
And isn't that exactly what Sand has been doing with Ray ever since he first saw him, left alone, drunk as hell, getting into his car without any concern for his life?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just like Ayan, Sand has found this special fragile boy who needs lots and lots of love. And where Akk wanted acceptance and to be good for others, Ray only wants to be loved and to be someone's priority for once in his life.
Even the little things Sand does for Ray. And yes, we joke about Ray being Sand's spoiled princess, but before Sand came into Ray's life, did anyone ever treat him with this much care and affection? No.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lighting up his cigarettes, cooking for him, helping him with his helmet, driving him around, changing his dirty clothes when Ray is too passed out to care, going after him no matter what Ray said or did, shaving him...
Yes, Sand is a natural caregiver and perhaps acts of service are his love language, but to me the point is that Sand is able to see the full potential Ray could reach.
Sand knows how precious he truly is; with patience and love and care, with someone by his side ready to fight the battle with him, someone who will not give up on him, Ray may one day be able to blossom into this wonderful person that he is capable of being.
Until that moment comes, Sand will be there for him like no one ever has before. Because Sand looks at Ray and sees someone worth fighting for, someone worthy of love.
And yes, I am aware that Ayan and Sand are very different characters, they are at different points and have different expectations when it comes to relationships.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even the way they handle things when it comes to love is different: Ayan is very much open and ready and unafraid to communicate what he wants from Akk, while Sand is emotionally constipated, with his walls all up, still falling hard but refusing to admit it even to himself.
Yet the way Ayan and Sand care for their loved ones appears to me as the very same.

something about how philever's dynamic changed as soon as q!forever started to get more involved with the theory bros and the federation means so much to me
tldr : decided to add a read more if you wanna see me rambling but it's just I love how Phil is just forever's emotional support bird where he can have slice of life moments and not experience the horrors (ignoring how the binary monster has beef with Phil)
their start with the silly bantering and q!forever trying to get q!Phil's attention and love by wooing him the most pathetic way possible, convincing other members q!Phil is in the wrong or just how people are vouching for him to get q!Phil
but then as soon as Tallulah's death happened q! Phil's perception on forever changed a lot, he already saw him as a, caring father and a good guy behind his obsession with him but seeing this man for once drop the facade and seem so broken changed the way he approaches q!forever.
while yeah they do their usual bantering q!Phil does seem to indulge forever in his antics from time to time to cheer him up, even going as far as praising him and holding him in such a high regard when he saw the flooding, or the egg hotel, or his work behind scenes.
and something about q!forever saying "now that the server has calmed down and there's no war, I can be happy again and annoy you" hit me so much. He probably doesn't notice it but q!Phil became his happy place, a safe haven he cannot reach unless he's done with the federation and the horrors. q!Phil isn't as involved on the lore, hell he misses most of it and I think it makes it better for their dynamic.
q!forever doesn't have to worry about the federation with q!Phil, he can for once put his guard down and enjoy some slice of life moment with him. I personally don't care if they don't get together platonically I think their relationship as it stands for now is more than enough

So this is like 99% certainly au but... QSMP universe in which Philza is a creature of the End (elytran is the obvious one) and used to belong there and be under the dominion of the Ender King, but managed to escape and was taken in by Rose. Probably had actually met the Ender King, either said deity wiping the battlefield Philza was on or even capturing him and Philza having escaped from his castle. Maybe taking some of the Ender King's treasure with him as he did. Or even he was one of Rose's people roped into the war for whatever reason maybe kidnapped when a bit of reality was eaten, and his escaping from the Ender King is what caused him to end up on the Island, slipping between cracks in realities! He doesn't remember any of that atm, of course, but the deep and instinctual terror is still there. And the Ender King still wants him back, because his possession fled...

It's more interesting when Trigon loves his daughter, but also he is irredeemably evil.
Like he is evil, Literally he was made when an entire group of people severed all of the evil things from their souls, and that evil coalesced and was born as Trigon. He revels in misery, his only goal is to conquer and destroy, because evil is what he is. In a way he never had a choice to be anything else.
I think about that a lot, being born of Evil, specifically the evil that existed inside of the people of Azarath. Evil is typically defined as the things that we hate, the things that disgust us, that we find reprehensible. So am entire people removed the things the hated about themselves, from themselves and that Hate became Trigon.
I imagine he's a very lonely person, desperate to make a connection to something outside himself but unable to because he is made of Rage and Hate, which to me is why he values Raven so much. In all of creation, she alone is like him. They are a Species of Two in his eyes.
He wants Raven to love him back, to accept him for being Evil, and for her to be evil like him. Which is the tragedy of their relationship honestly. In all of creation there s probably no one as kind and understanding as Raven, she alone could see the loneliness inside her father, for its the same loneliness that is inside her. But they could never accept each other fully. Because Trigon does revel in the pain he causes others, and Raven couldn't turn a blind eye to the suffering of anyone, and what Trigon wants is for Raven to be just like him, so that they can cause misery together. A Species of Two.

I was thinking about how I see a lot of female fans / creators / players with the most "normal" looking Durge's.
I feel like there's probably corners of the random that mock this. (Mostly male, I'm assuming)
But like, it males do much sense.
It is the ultimate extension of how women should look pretty and perfect no matter what horrors we've been through. We need to present as physically pleasing.
No wonder so many of us create a character that fulfills that expectation. And then we go crazy and lean into the murder part of it.

Sam is the better example for a hopeless romantic person.
Not matter what happen to him, what the people say about him and the ones he loves. What they say about Frodo, what Frodo say to him to keep him apart of all the horrible and awfull things that they had to deal with.
Sam still believe in love, Sam still think that the only thing that Frodo needs to cure all the madness that they pass through is love.
Sam loves so deeply so selflessly that when he had the option to leaves all behind and run away from all the pain, from whom he loves, he still stay and think that his cares are enough.

So I've been thinking...
What if the clone in Stormbringer made it out alive (and didn't scar me and our Chuuya with THAT one super graphic scene) and Dazai had to deal with BOTH of them? BUT clone Chuu is like super nice to him which makes Dazai.exe malfunction and even he can't tell which is which until he's getting punched or hugged. He would truly lose his damn mind. Mori would tell him about the pencil scar to try and help so they both start wearing gloves just to make it impossible to tell. Dazai ends up cutting our Chuuya's hair but clone Chuuya follows suit cause he wants to twin and our Chuuya is having the. time. of. his. life! driving Dazai up a wall. Dazai's stuck between being jealous they hang out all the time and extremely horny because he thought one Chuuya was bad and now he has TWO to deal with. THE POTENTIAL!
