"The Gutter"
“Dodgeball” meets “Pootie Tang,” but with bowling.
I laughed a lot at the goofy sports comedy “The Gutter,” a hilarious, profane, atypical underdog film from Isaiah and Yassir Lester. This is a movie I can best describe as “Dodgeball” meets “Pootie Tang,” but with bowling. This one has massive cult classic potential, if it can find its audience. When we meet frequently fired Walt (Shameik Moore), he is interviewing for a job at AlleyCatz, which…

The disassembly drones' former names
Tumblr media
I figured that I would share this headcanon with all of you sooner or later. You know each of the disassembly drones’ serial designations? Well, what if their letters were based off their former names back when they were worker drones? And I’m not talking about the first letter of their names. I’m talking about the name of the letter in each of their names. For example, N’s former name was probably either Kenneth, Bennett, or Leonard, and V’s former name probably either Venus, Vivian, or Genevieve. J’s former name was probably either Jamie or Jane, the latter of which I was initially going for Mary Jane (yes, the same name as the famous supporting character from Spider-Man). I’m unsure about CYN or Cynthia, though, largely because that she probably died long before the events of the series that she wasn’t converted into a disassembly drone. Besides, for all we know, she was going on a crazy, murderous rampage that she had to be put down. And if she was converted into a disassembly drone, her designation might be either C from the first letter of her name or T from a phonetic of her name (Cynthia).
The former names should go as followed:
A – Ada, Eva, Avery, Abraham, Adrian
B – Beatrice, Bianca, Phoebe; Sabine
C – Caesar, Cecil, Casey
D – Diesel, Delia, Deanna, Heidi, Nadine
E – Edith, Eden, Elaine, Ian
F – Efrem, Jeffrey, Stephanie
G – Giovanni, Georgina, Regina, Eugene
H – Rachel, Horatio
I – Isaac, Ivan, Isaiah, Ivy, Iris
J – Jane, Jamie, Jayden
K – Katie, Kayla, Casey
L – Eleanor, Elliot, Elias, Elvis, Elmer; Bella, Angelica, Melanie, Danielle, Michelle; Denzel
M – Emma, Emerald, Emmett, Emmerich, Clementine
N – Kenneth, Bennett, Benedict, Leonard, Henry
O – Ophelia, Olivia, Odette, Opal
P – Peter, Penelope
Q – Cueball, Queue
R – Archie, Armand, Charles, Harley
S – Essence, Estelle, Esther, Jessica, Lester, Marquess
T –  Christina, Valentina, Misty
U – Ulysses, Unity, Eunice, Eustace
V – Venus, Vivian, Genevieve
W – Winston, Wilson
X – Xavier, Rex, Alexander
Y – Wyatt, Wyvern, Wyoming
Z – Ezekiel, Lindsay, Suzie
I also want to share that I used to have a theory that J, N, and V used to be regular secretary drones before being converted into disassembly drones, as well as my former headcanon that N used to be friends with his assigned human coworker.
Anyway, that’s all I have for this headcanon for now. This might be re-edited soon, but if you’d like to add in some additions, feel free to do so in the replies and reblogs. You can use this list as an outline for your OCs if you want. And I’ll see you all next time.
P.S. If Uzi were to transform into a disassembly drone, should her designation be either U or Z?

Kahil El’Zabar’s Ethnic Heritage Ensemble — Open Me, A Higher Consciousness of Sound and Spirit (Spiritmuse)
Tumblr media
youtube
Celebrating 50 years of his Ethnic Heritage Ensemble bandleader, activist, educator and percussionist Kahil El’Zabar delves deeply into the music he has helped shape over his long career. Open Me is neither a valedictory nostalgia trip nor a lap of honor. Spanning spiritual and avant-garde jazz, African rhythms, soul blues and protest music, El’Zabar and his cohorts, trumpeter Corey Wilkes and baritone saxophonist Alex Harding, are joined by guests Ishmael Ali on cello and violinist James Sanders in collection of original tunes and finely wrought covers that look forward while linking the threads of El’Zabar’s musical legacy.
The quintet finds a devotional center to Miles Davis’ “All Blues”. El’Zabar plays on kalimba and bells, his hums and ululations a prayerful focus. The band play at a meditative pace with Wilkes pushing his tone through Davis’ modal calm into higher registers that evoke Don Cherry whilst Harding provides soulful counterpoint and a solo that carries the barest trace of Coltrane. Sanders’ short solo scratches then soars as if freeing itself from earthly concerns. “The Whole World in His Hands” feels reclaimed as El’Zabar lays down a rolling African beat and his vocal emphasizes the gospel blues root of the song. Behind, the horns and strings provide an intense group sound, with a call and response of short solos that mirror both church service and jam session. Their version of Eugene McDaniel’s “Compared To What” finds El’Zabar’s graveled vocal backed by Harding’s nimble baritone riff, a glorious clarion call from Wilkes and atmospheric flourishes from the strings. The spirit is to the fore, but this band also swings hard. “Hang Tuff” and McCoy Tyner’s “Passion Dance” are exuberant celebrations. The former graced by a dervish of a solo from Sanders and the latter played with all the power of a big band, the horns blasting the theme, El’Zabar all over his kit, the solos uniformly fiery.
From Lester Bowie, Anthony Braxton and Pharoah Sanders to David Murray to Tomeka Reid and Isaiah Collier, El’Zabar’s career spans generations of forward-thinking musicians. The Ethnic Heritage Ensemble is the longest running of his many musical projects and on Open Me, they produce a stirring mix of spirituality, groove and fire music. This is history very much alive and kicking.

these are from fairly recent shows set in the 80s. i don't feel comfortable recommending any cast members who were minors at the time of filming. keep in mind - these all have curly hair (for the most part) but i'm not sure if their resources are adequate.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American and Caribbean-born military pilots who fought in WWII. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the Army Air Forces. The name applies to the navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks, and other support personnel.
All African American military pilots who trained in the US trained at Moton Field, the Tuskegee Army Air Field, and were educated at Tuskegee University. The group included five Haitians from the Haitian Air Force and one pilot from Trinidad. It included a Hispanic or Latino airman born in the Dominican Republic.
March 22, 1942 - The first five cadets graduate from the Tuskegee Flying School: Captain Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. and Second Lieutenants Mac Ross,
Charles DeBow, L.R. Curtis, and George S. Roberts. They will become part of my the famous 99th Pursuit Squadron. List of Tuskegge Airmen.

Labeled
“For all these things My hand has made, So all these things came into being [by and for Me],” declares the LORD. “But to this one I will look [graciously], To him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands.” Isaiah 66:2AMP
When the Charismatic Renewal was in full swing, I received the baptism of Holy Spirit. To me, I’d received a gift more valuable than millions of dollars. I saw miracles happen; speedy answers to prayer, such as: Our son developed a high fever while in the children’s church. We put him into the back seat of the car. I rebuked the fever, as Jesus did Peter’s mother-in-law. My son vomited all over the floor mat in the car, sat up with a normal temperature, totally well. He would normally have gone ahead into pneumonia, and the hospital. After that time, he never started running a fever, ending in the hospital again.
Life was good, couldn’t have been better. Later, I read about Charles and Frances Hunter, and Lester Sumrall. My tiny miracles were nothing in comparison to these mighty charismatic faith teachers. I hungered for more, going to meetings of teachers, evangelists, and preachers whose ministries were marked by miracles, and the power of God’s glory being manifested.
Years marched on, the church diminished the power of God operating in my life. Why do I make such a statement? Because I spent many years sitting under a preacher who drilled into the laity — we weren’t supposed to go around looking for God’s moves. Such searching was being a ‘fanatic’— labeled. This labeling brought condemnation, and I didn’t even realize what was happening to me.
After all these years I believe I have found the true answer to all of the missing points. Reverence. Holy God spoke through Isaiah of who He truly was and is. God is still looking for the people, “To him who is humble and contrite in spirit” person who is humble— [adjective, 1 not proud or arrogant; modest: 2 having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience, etc.: 3 low in rank, importance, status, quality, etc.; lowly: 4 courteously respectful:] AND contrite— [adjective 1 caused by or showing sincere remorse. 2 filled with a sense of guilt and the desire for atonement; penitent:].
Even more significant to Yahweh is one — “who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands." Do we revere, honor, adore Yahweh anymore? Or is He God who will get over it, if we don’t, or if we do? Is He so important to us that we can’t live without Him? Does our first thought revolve around Him in the morning? The last thoughts before sleep? Are waking hours spent including Him in our thoughts considering Him in our work and play?
“But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.”
Do we fear man or God? Is being labeled a ‘fanatic’ frightening to you? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: LORD God forgive us for not reverencing You as You desire. Forgive the coldness of our hearts I pray, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Info, Please:  Extended Families  (Part 1, Duggars + In–Laws)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So…  I think it would be nuts to actually draw out of a family tree, since it would have to be so, so huge.  But, I’m happy to provide a written Post about this!  I’ll trace each family back to the Great–Grandparents of Josh, etc., usually dubbed the “Second Generation” by Duggar Data.  I’m not going to include any Uncles, Aunts, Great–Uncles, Great–Aunts, or Cousins, except for the Duggars / Bates.  Too much to research, and it’s maybe a bit too invasive for the less high–profile families.
Part 1 will be Duggars + In–Laws.  Part 2 will be Bateses + In–Laws.  Part 3 will be the rest of the Predictor Families.  Onward, to...
