Gotham's Superhero Week: Bruce Wayne's Scandalous Antics! Is Romance Brewing Between Batman and Superman?
It's Superhero Week in Gotham City, and the excitement is reaching epic heights as people from all corners of the country flock to the city for the Superhero Festival extravaganza! The streets are teeming with attendees clad in their favorite superhero ensembles, ready to revel in the heroic festivities.
But hold onto your capes, folks, because Gotham's very own celebrity socialite, Bruce Wayne, has taken the city by storm! Sporting the iconic guise of Batman, the Dark Knight himself, Wayne has graced the festival to show undying support for his beloved hometown. The sight of him donning the Bat-suit and striking fabulous poses has sent shockwaves through the crowds, leaving fans in awe and paparazzi in a frenzy.
And the surprises don't end there! As the festival roars to life, Wayne takes center stage, belting out a heart-rending rendition of 'I'll Be Your Superhero.' Joining him is none other than the sensational Central City songbird, Alison Green, shimmering in the breathtaking attire of Wonder Woman! The stage ignites with their electrifying chemistry, leaving audiences craving more.
But alas, not all is smooth sailing in our Batman’s world. In an unfortunate turn of events, Wayne found himself at the short end of the stick in a boozy brawl with a belligerent “Green Lantern”. Fear not, dear readers, for salvation arrived in the form of Damian Wayne, the heir to the Wayne fortune, dressed as Nightwing, People’s Sexiest Hero Alive. With his height advantage, he swiftly put an end to the tumultuous scuffle with a nutshot, proving that perhaps not all Waynes are hopeless at combat.
And as if that wasn't enough to set tongues wagging, the Gotham gossip mill has gone into overdrive with jaw-dropping photos capturing Wayne in an intimate embrace with none other than a dashing Superman look-alike! Who is this mysterious Man of Steel? Word on the street is that he hails from Metropolis and works as a reporter. Could sparks be flying between the World's Finest superhero fans? Only time will reveal the truth behind this captivating enigma. Stay tuned, dear readers, as we continue to unravel the secrets of Gotham's Superhero Week! — Gotham Gazelle

You know what hurts the absolute most? Thinking someone was different but they ended up being like the rest. Each heartbreak triggers a certain part of my heart. It feels gut wrenching knowing the person you wanted to be with was just a facade. I can’t peace together why you decided to mess up and you hoping I would always be there. I haven’t felt this low since 2017 . It was just the same characteristics showing up. I hate you for making me feel like I’m crazy. I hate you for making me lash out on you. I hate you for making me pray to God how thankful I am to have you in my life when you barely showed reciprocation. I hate you for making me regret even dealing with you. I wasted prayers for you? I defended you numerous times and for you to just betray me is the biggest slap in the face you could’ve done to me. You were never worth it. Seems like everytime I try to stand back up , someone else pushes me back down. I’m tired

so i know i haven’t been the most active on this grimoire blog, but i want to get back into posting more on here since i just got a new phone.
the dark moon is coming soon so i definitely want to record what happens when i do my dedication ritual for our Dark Mother.
lately, i go into the back of the graveyard i go to to practice and observe/learn in and i set up a protection circle. i open up to spirit, and then use my oracle cards and my charms in honor of Her. last time i went, it was a very intimate experience.
another time i went to connect with Persephone, and that was definitely a colorful experience as well.
i even went and honored Hades with my boyfriend since he finally got a job and its so close to where i work, making it much easier for us to move in together.
i want to get more creative with what i do there. maybe more spell work. or cleansing some old gravestones from negativity. and i need to study more proper etiquette in graveyards too… i don’t want to overstep any necessary boundaries.

I was reading an article from CNN about journalists in Gaza (link) and this particular paragraph stuck out to me...
Tumblr media
I was initially a journalism major in college so I understand the background of why an organization like CNN would require this style of reporting (i.e. "both sides" representism). However, these inserts of Isreali "viewpoints" that have been shown to be barefaced lies in an article about Gazan journalists risking their lives is just piss-poor optics.
If anyone wonders why people have lost faith in traditional media sources, this is a perfect example. In an article centering Palestinian voices, the organization still requires that Israeli talking points be linked as well and often, in the same paragraph. It reads like: 'here's a quote about a personal lived experience of genocide but nah uh, here's isreali propaganda claiming they are lying and bc they are an ally, they should be believed'. It's American/Western exceptionalism at its finest because "why should we believe a Palestinian, they aren't paragons of truth and justice like we are?"
I don't know if I quite explained myself like I wanted but this particular article just made me so angry that CNN and other Western media were once considered 'trustworthy' sources of information and now are parroting isreali lies. AND telling their readers that Palestinian voices on the ground telling first-hand information are not "good enough" sources of information.

Tumblr media
summary: you have made a career for yourself by interviewing celebrities, but are feeling a little uncomfortable when one hits close to home.
warnings: none
Tumblr media
i nervously climbed into my car. the engine only makes my nerves rattle more. growing up, i was infatuated with actors and musicians. i found myself watching movies for the actors instead of the plot. listening to songs for the singers instead of the message. i can't explain my relationship with the media. i guess being online a lot as a teenager is to blame.
regardless, i knew from an early age that i wanted to work in the industry. not as an entertainer, but in the background. i wanted to observe the lifestyle up close. going to college for journalism was the best decision i have made for myself because now i get to live out my fantasy.
i get paid to interview these people. and though i find a lot of them uptight and spoiled, the nosy side of me loves picking them apart. because of my job, i try my best to stay neutral on these celebrities so that they don't feel uncomfortable. apart from the research i do in order to come up with my questions, of course.
today is different. there is a show called "outer banks" that came around during quarantine, so with my free time, i binge-watched the entire first season. as i mentioned, normally i watch tv shows and movies for the actors, but i hadn't seen anyone in this show.
however, when i delved deeper into google, i found the name of one of the actors to be familiar. drew starkey. i quickly found out that he grew up in north carolina, as did i. confused, i pulled myself from my cocoon on my couch to find my old high school yearbooks. grabbing one at random, i see him grinning in his senior photo. how could i forget?
ever since i discovered this, i avoided the show like the plague. even though i had been surrounded by celebrities for years now, i had never known one of them personally. it almost ruined the glamorous aura surrounding them. imagining him as a regular teenage boy in the classes we shared was humbling. he wasn't mean in high school, not at all. if anything, i remember finding it odd that he hung around the theater kids because he was a total jock.
because of quarantine, i knew that press would be difficult for the actors, and because of this, i never anticipated having to interview them. which helped ease my nerves. moving to los angeles meant that i would interview every celebrity on the new up-and-coming shows. part of me hoped the hype surrounding the show would die down before the lockdown did.
the entire ride to the studio, i told myself over and over again that there was no way he would remember me. he was a jock, and i barely spoke. it wasn't the fact that i was shy, high school just wasn't for me. i counted down the days to graduation. i was only there because i had to be. i put more focus on my studies than my social life.
in the back of my mind, i can't help but fear that seeing him will bring back memories of being the closed-off kid i was back then. as long as no one mentions it, everything will be okay. i repeated that to myself a few times before parking my car in the lot. removing my seatbelt as slowly as possible to buy time.
my hands are shaking as i walk to my studio. i send passing smiles to my coworkers as i make my way to the bathroom. i confirm that my hair, face, and outfit look presentable, and read over my questions one last time.
the cameraman walks up to me as i take my seat to wait for the cast to arrive. "i just got a call; austin and drew are going to be the only ones you're interviewing today. madelyn, rudy, and  madison will be interviewed tomorrow," he says, looking for any sort of confirmation. "that sounds perfect," i say, smiling, still looking at my cards.
i hear footsteps coming from the hallway and quickly stand up. austin and drew emerged into the room with their crew. "hello! so nice to meet you, my name is y/n," i say with a grin as i hold out my hand to them. they do the same, introducing themselves as they take turns shaking my hand.
all three seats are now filled, so we can begin the questions. the first fifteen minutes go perfectly; we're laughing, they're thoroughly interested in the questions, and they're giving great answers. turning my attention to drew, i ask, "has this sudden change in lifestyle been difficult for you at all? to go from putting your all into basketball, to then deciding on theater in college?"
he looks taken aback by my question. that nervous feeling in my stomach is slowly creeping back. i made sure that his sports background was easy to find online, so i was confident he wouldn't be too surprised. "wait a second. y/n? y/n y/l/n?" i can feel my cheeks flush at his realization.
"can i be honest? i was hoping you wouldn't notice," i said, covering my face with my note cards. we are now sharing smiles. "oh my god. i sat behind you in algebra, you're the only reason i passed that class," he says in between laughs. seeing him in person has brought all of those little memories flooding back.
after a minute or so of catching up, their team urges us on. "we've got other interviews, guys," the man says impatiently. we carry on for an additional fifteen minutes or so before i have run out of questions to ask. we said our farewells, and i thanked them for coming.
just as they were leaving, drew turned around, brushing past the guys they had walked in with. "y/n can i get your number? i would love to catch up properly whenever we both have time," he says, pulling out his phone. "yes, of course!" i smile, quickly typing in the numbers before they are once again rushed away.
it felt like no time before my phone started dinging.

Cinderella Doesn’t Believe in Fairytales (part 9)
(part 1) (part 2) (part 3). (Part 4) (part 5) (part 6) (part 7) (part 8)
Baron Ramsey knows a secret.
It is a very good position to be in, to be a noble and to know an important secret. The base of the aristocracy’s power comes from secrets after all and knowing one that many others don’t  means he holds a special power. A different power. An important power.
Baron Ramsey subtly pulls his collar away from his neck as he’s led down the long, ornate hall to the audience chamber. He can feel a bead of sweat just shy of his hairline and he hopes it doesn’t roll down his temple at the wrong moment. The knight leading him to the King and Queen has a hand on the silver hilt of his sword. He doesn’t look back at the Baron, but Baron Ramsey can feel his attention regardless. Like a flock of birds looking down from the trees as you pass underneath.
Knowing a secret is a very good thing, he reminds himself. He dabs away the bead of sweat a beat before the knight opens the doors the audience chamber. He most likely has only been called to discuss a new item the Queen wants. Something that he who spends so much time abroad could find for her. It is a common occurrence. That is why he takes pains to never let her find him at home.
“Baron David Ramsey,” the knight announces. He steps smartly to the side and bows without ever once looking at the occupants of the room. “Your majesties.”
Baron David Ramsey. His name curls inside of his chest and settles like a band around his lungs. When he was a boy, his father took him to meet the Queen and King. His father said it was only natural to feel anxious and frightened in their presence. Natural and right, even. But now he can feel the unnaturalness in it and he struggles to take the first step forward. He could be crushed by their attention alone.
For our Cinder, he thinks and watches his feet carry him forward to kneel before the King and Queen.
The heavy, wood doors swing shut, sealing him alone inside.
“Rise, Baron,” the Queen says. Her voice is like the ocean. Trickling and light until the syllables collide into each other like waves. Then he can hear the depth of it, the power in it.
He rises and finally looks up at the thrones.
The Queen is draped in purple. Ribbons of the finest silk are braided into her hair, ranging from violet to lilac. She is sitting upright, her hands placed carefully on the arms of the chair so he can see the length and sharpness of her lavender nails.
Baron Ramsey’s heart beats faster, like a rabbit, when he sees the Queen. But it stops in its tracks when he sees the King.
The King isn’t seated on his throne. He is standing a step behind the Queen, his hands resting on the hilt of a sheathed sword that he’s using like a cane. He is dressed entirely in black except for a single piece of amethyst embedded in his obsidian crown.
He is not pretending to be a co-ruler right now. He is showing what he really is. The Queen’s one and only personal knight.
They know, the Baron thinks. He sways on the spot. They know I know.
“Welcome home, Baron David Ramsey,” the Queen says. She smiles and her teeth are astonishingly sharp. The King seems out of proportion behind her, his limbs a little too long and his eyes a little too deep set. The Queen laughs and it sounds like bells. “Welcome home to the Unseelie Court.”
Knowing a secret is a very good thing…until it’s no longer a secret at all.
--------.
Baron Ramsey is not a clever man. He used to think he was. Oh! The folly of youth. He’d been determined to reclaim the noble prestige his father had lost and had spent many years searching for the right thing to leverage into a higher position. Trade deals, a new variety of crops, attempting to gain protection from one of the Kingdom’s three dukedoms. He tried it all to no avail.
Then he went into the West Mountains.
He went to find a diamond mine. Journals from his ancestors spoke of treasure to the West. The entries never specified where to the west, but David Ramsey did not have many options. They did not have land of their own to mine and he did not want to rent it from the dukedoms which had rejected his service. So he took some money and his father’s disappointment west.
He did not come back with sacks full of diamonds.
He came back with a wife.
“I will marry you,” she said the day he proposed. Her hair was so pale blonde that it nearly blended in with the snow swirling around them. Her eyes the blue of a clear winter sky seemed to see through him. “But it will cost you. There is always a cost when you meet someone like me.”
And love-blind he said, “Whatever the cost, I will pay it. I love you and I want to be with you for the rest of our lives.”
Her lips thinned. She had already told him her years were numbered. Her lifespan slipped through an injury from the attack that had decimated her land. It would never fully heal. Did it make his love more shallow than hers that he knew how many years he must dedicate to her? She would be giving him the rest of her life. He would be giving her a mere years.
But, love-blind as well, she said, “The cost is this: you will never be a Duke or a Marquis or even nobility with land. You will stay a landless Baron. There will never be plenty in your coffers just as there will never be nothing in them. You must do nothing to attract attention to yourself or to me. We must live in solitude.”
“But we will live together,” he said. He felt the conviction in his heart and he got down onto one knee, uncaring of the ice on the ground. He held her hand between two of his. “My time with you will be all the treasure I need. If I have your attention, I need no other. Let me love you. Please.”
“You must never say please,” she chided gently. But she let him slip his mother’s ring onto her finger and she followed him down the mountain to the lush greenery below.
She gathered her power carefully in her chest when she stepped over the boundary between her land and this new one. Her Court lay dead behind her, but it did not mean the Unseelie Court would be forgiving enough to let her live. She wanted to live. She wanted to live with this human whose ancestors had once been her enemy and whose rulers were her enemy now. He did not hold their nature. He was human and perfect despite it.
For a while, they were happy. Truly they were. She supported him in finding new connections beyond the Kingdom to finance them. They soothed each other when his father passed. He had become like a father to her too. And when they had their daughter, she was still happy.
Something changed. She didn’t know what (or did not want to consider it). Her husband began to travel more and, having to take care of their child, she could not go with him. More than once she wondered if he still loved her. He had promised to let their time together be his treasure, but she did not feel treasured watching him disappear down the road alone. She spent hours staring in the direction he left, paralyzed by the fear of asking. Did he still love her? Did he still want to be with her?
Her daughter’s eyes were always on her. She had too much to lose.
She did not ask.
It wasn’t until she found their child killing ants in the garden with a sneer twisting her perfect face that she was confronted with the fact her absent husband might secretly hold part of her enemy’s nature after all. She felt it pulsing from their child like the night sky overtaking the horizon. It was only then that she realized what the Unseelie Court had become.
“They were dying like we were,” she told the Baron. He was coming home less and less. The cost he paid to be with her was driving a wedge between them. He wanted to provide more  for their daughter and her restrictions kept him from trading within the boundary of the Kingdom. “The Queen held less morals than I did when I ruled my lands. She did not keep the Court pure. She let her powers spread thin outside of the Inner Court in hopes that one kernel of it would spark and ignite stronger than ever.”
“What are you saying?” The Baron asked.
“Our Cinder,” she said in a trembling voice. She watched out the window as their daughter ran after butterflies in the garden. “She has a spark of the Unseelie Queen.” From you. “And she will inherit my powers as well. She will be everything they want, David, she will be beyond what they want—"
“We’re safe,” the Baron interrupted. Conversation about the Queen made him uncomfortable these days. He did not tell his wife, but he had taken a contract with the Queen who had noticed of his foreign trade. She paid better than other kingdoms for harmless things. Jewels and fabric in ever shade of purple he could find. He avoided his wife’s eyes lest she discover his duplicity. “Your barriers are strong. They won’t find us here. They won’t find our Cinder.”
“You’re not listening,” she cried.
“You are worrying over matters that can’t reach us,” he soothed and that was the end of that.
But she knew he was wrong. He was human and did not understand the nature of the fae as she did. She had already been teaching her daughter how to behave like a fae. Now, she knew, she needed to teach her daughter how to avoid becoming the sort of fae who would attract attention.
I must teach her to be kind, she thought, holding her daughter to her chest that night. Memories of her Court screaming crowded in from all side. The look on her daughter’s face while she killed the ants seemed darker in her memory. Kindness will thwart this darker nature. I only have three years left. Only three years.
It would not be enough time.

love my baby like the finest wine [On AO3]
"Holy shit, it smells so fucking good in here," Eddie says, letting his duffel bag (Wayne's, technically, borrowed for this trip because luggage falls somewhere well below a new amp on the Edward Munson scale of household necessities) fall to the floor as he pushes the door shut behind him.
"Take off your gross shoes," Steve calls from the tiny kitchen alcove.
"You don't know anything about the state of my shoes," Eddie retorts, but he leans down to tug the half-frozen laces loose anyway. He's pretty sure he's been carrying standing water in the toes for the last block and a half. Much as it pains him, it may be time to throw aesthetics to the wind and invest in a pair of snow boots.
"Yeah, it's been sleeting for like an hour, so I can guess." Steve steps out of the kitchen, finally. He's got a bowl tucked into the cradle of his arm and a smear of flour on his cheek, and he looks more or less like he stepped off the cover of Ladies' Home Journal, holiday edition, or some similarly wholesome publication. Then he smirks faintly, and he just looks like Steve. "That's what I thought."
Caught, Eddie laughs and kicks his shoes off, then peels his sopping-wet socks off for good measure. "It's the principle of the thing."
"Right," Steve says with one of his dramatic eyerolls, and turns back into the kitchen. Eddie follows him.
Steve and Robin's kitchen is a tiny, weirdly-shaped alcove overlooking the alley alongside the building. The metal fire escape ladder slants across the window, and Eddie can see snow just starting to accumulate on its rusted surface. Inside, it's warm and bright, the air redolent with sugar and baking spices. There's a tray of cookies cooling on the counter, only slightly singed at the edges.
"Where the hell did you learn to bake?" Eddie asks, fascinated, as Steve leans down to peer into the oven, curses under his breath, and fumbles a pair of oven mitts on.
"Oh, you know, here and there," he says breezily.
"He ruined three batches before you got here," Robin says, ducking her head in. "Hey, Eddie."
