TOURNAMENT PARTICIPANTS

Greetings, everyone, our contestants have been finalized, and I want to provide a certain opportunity before the preliminaries begin. Namely, to provide additional propaganda for competitors in need of it. So, I have created a form to collect this new propaganda, and a list of both preliminary and non-preliminary participants under the cut. An asterisk next to a name indicates they have fewer than three pieces of propaganda, which is the amount that will be included in each poll. This form will be open for the duration of the tournament. You can make as many submissions you want for any character.

NOTE: The order of participants does not reflect the bracket matchups. Preliminary matchups will be announced next week, and the complete bracket will be announced after the preliminary round is finished.

UPDATE: Additional characters have been added in bold because I failed to fill out the bracket by counting incorrectly. One has been added to the preliminary round, and the others are regular competitors.

I would have loved to have seen or have Yashiki's role within the Kujo household both past and future be explored because he clearly doesn't have attachment to the family name and even refers to this old home as "the Kujo mansion" yet he stays within that same empty mansion with all its empty rooms and cursed family lineage honestly aside from the fact that Mary resides in the mansion and he needs to make sure she doesn't wake up any faster than she already is, I think Yashiki is in deep grief and guilt over Saya's death and this is way to keep a connection to her (in my mind I can see him 'talking' or writing to saya in the quiet moments when he's at the mansion) and a way to keep her legacy going. It could be a fitting overarching theme for the series of "what do the living owe the dead?"

anyways, my lil jojo oc part iv been sorta fleshing out for the last few months. most of the characters iv thrown around and stuff. With Holly and the protag for this fan part. Taking place in 2006 when a corrupt underground fighting ring centered around stand user fighting has one of their wrestlers attempt to contact the elderly Joseph Joestar only to have the letter intercepted by his visiting daughter Holly Kujo. Not wanting her father to get involved in some more drama that has approached their family she goes in his place and ends up roped up into the seedy and dangerous lives of these wrestlers who live under the never ending threat their job has brought to them.

The library was quiet but Polnareff seemed to be making enough noise for everyone in the vicinity. He directed his question towards Jotaro who's attention was focused on you who happened to be sitting two tables down.

With a snort, Kakyoin took one glance up in Jotaro’s direction before looking back down at his book.

“JP, you need to learn how to read the fucking room.” Kakyoin mumbled, his head tucked deep into one of his many study manuals.

Polnareff leaned forwards, face perplexed as he tried to pry more out of the red haired individual.

“Read what? What’s going on?” He asked.

Kakyoin looked up towards Jotaro again. This time a sly smile worming it’s way onto his lips.

“Can’t you see Jotaros busy?”

“Busy doing what?!” The silver haired man was getting more frustrated by the second. He turned to the broody Kujo who was sitting next to him.

“Jotaro, are you busy right now?”

“Yeah.”

The man didn’t skip a beat in replying. He answered on autopilot seeing as his attention was distracted by you anyways. Anything Polnareff was telling him could wait. Currently, Jotaro was truly occupied, and amazed, by your tenacious capacity to make all black look chic.

What on earth was your secret and how did you make it look so good?

“Huh!? Busy doing what?!” Polnareff near screeched.

“Shh!” Kakyoin hissed.

The frenchman gave Kakyoin a dirty look but it was mild and didn’t last long pertaining he had a point.

So okay, maybe Polnareff was being a bit too loud, but that didn’t solve the issue to why Jotaro was apparently too busy to hear his Epic Real Life Totally Happened story but free enough to be staring over at the girl sitting at the table across from them.

He paused.

Oh.

Suddenly, the penny dropped.

“Yo. Wait— Yo!” Polnareff turned in Jotaro’s direction as he took a hold of the large man’s arms and shook it. “You like the girl?”

Instantly, Jotaro turned his head in polnareff’s direction, his expression wild at the accusation.

“Huh?”

“You like her? The uh, what’s that, the Goth one. This one here.” Polnareff cheesed as he nodded his head in your direction.

The flush of Kujo’s face was obvious. Even with his hat cascading over his eyes, it was clear the embarrassment he was experiencing.

Kakyoin on the other hand could only smirk down at his book, pertaining he had figured this piece of information out awhile ago.

With a wild grunt, Jotaro flung his arm upwards, automatically shaking Polnareff off of him. It was prominent he was somewhat irritated.

“Get the fuck off me.”

And that was all the confirmation the Frenchman needed.

With a wide smile, Polnareff nudged Jotaro in his side, the broody man clearly not finding his sly crush being unveiled amusing.

“I can go talk to her for you if you want? I’ve seen her a few times around campus so I can easily stir a conversation.” He offered.

Jotaro was fast to open his mouth in answer but he stopped himself, gaping hole left ajar and no words coming out. Polnareff continued looking to him for a reply.

It was clear he was conflicted.

In any normal circumstance, he’d instantly decline the offer and advise Polnareff to mind his own business.

“And what if I don’t?”

The silver haired man would usually say, grin shit eating as it always was when he wanted to take a dig out of the Kujo.

Jotaro would only pull his infamous hat over his eyes and shrug, confident in any initial statement he would have just previously said.

“Then Fuck Around and Find Out.” He’d amuse.

But this wasn’t just any normal circumstance.

He might not want to admit it out loud but Jotaro had definitely taken an inquisitive liking towards you. Rare, concerning he didn’t go around ‘liking’ people, he just tolerated the ones that drew to him and could tolerate him enough to stay. Yet when it came to you, the man couldn’t deny that he had an unusual drawing towards your presence; one that sparked Jotaro’s seldom ablaze notion of inquisition.

Polnareff nudged his friend again, face now peering closer up into his face.

“Come on, what do you say?” He asked.

Jotaro instantly pulled his face away, the normal reaction to anyone breathing their nasty breath directly in line of his nose. However, from his now bent position, Jotaro turned his head to peer over at Polnareff. He cleared his throat before gruffly muttering:

“Make it quick.”

With a gleeful smile, Polnareff pushed his chair back with a screech and then practically glided over to the table you were situated on.

With headphones on and music playing however, you were unaware of anything going on.

If anything, you felt Polnareff’s presence before you saw him. It was also made clear someone had sat opposite you concerning the table jolted forwards and your pillar of renewed library books toppled over.

Gathering your books, you made a noise of discontent before looking up and being instantly met with a wide smiling man sitting in front of you.

You were unsure what he wanted or who he was. But you questioned him none the less.

“Can I help you?”

The silver haired man said your name and asked if you were who you were.

You blinked twice.

How he knew your name you’re not sure but you’re sure he couldn’t mean anything well either. You did however take off your headphones to hear him a bit better.

“Uhh…”

“That is your name, right?” He pestered.

You fiddled with one of the chains on your wrist whilst looking around for any indication of who this man might be. It was then your eyes locked on the two men staring intently over at you from two tables down.

You then recollected seeing this very guy with them earlier on. They were probably the ones who sent him over.

“Anyways.” The man continued, unaffected you hadn’t answered his question. “My friend over there wants to get to know you. He thinks you’re cool or whatever.”

He tried to act suave as he perched his arm onto the chair next to him, clearly ensuing the faux confidence his assumed friend didn’t have to come talk to you.

“Which one?” You bemused, your eyes on his friends and not him.

The man turned backwards drastically, his whole upper body twisting with him and his chair squeaking as he looked towards the two eagle eyed boys in the back.

As soon as he did, they both looked away in hopes of looking inauspicious, as if they hadn’t been goggle eyeing you from the start.

“Jotaro; the one with the hat.” The silver haired man looked back at you.

Your eyes glanced over towards the two guys again however this time your attention solely on the Jotaro figure recommended to you. You’re not sure if you’ve seen him around. Not like you noticed many people anyways but he definitely wasn’t one of the popular kids. Bummer.

Still yet, with the few glances you took of him before, he didn’t seem so bad.

What harm in there was entertaining him?

“Jotaro, huh?”

With a snort and a snide smile, you cocked your head over in the direction of the man sitting in front of you.

“Tell him to come over here and talk to me himself if he thinks I’m so cool.”

The man’s eyes grew in sparkling wonder. He nodded, almost like a child, before jumping out of his seat and running back to his friends who were expectantly awaiting an answer.

You sat in your sudden momentary silence again.

This definitely wasn’t how you envisioned your impromptu library session to go but you guess everyday brought its nuances and challenges.

Taking a brisk look over to where the man had gone back to, you noticed how he seemed to animatedly talk to his friends, most probably relaying your message and some back to them. You couldn’t help but notice how their eyes seemed to constantly look over towards you, the centre of attention.

It was weird having someone take open interest in you. You know that your personal style usually kept others at bay and so you didn’t think much of normal people gaining attraction towards you. Still, it was something every girl wished for so you couldn’t help but feel a sense of giddy excitement for this situation.

You didn’t want to seem like you were expectant or waiting for Jotaro to come over and so you cascaded your eyes back down at your book.

However, after a few minutes of rereading the same page, you were yet to sense the presence of another person and was still yet to have your company joined.

Where was he?

Softly, the creeping feeling of anxious energy started to seep into you.

What if this Jotaro guy suddenly lost interest? Was the silver haired guy playing a practical joke on you? Heck, what if he took your message the wrong way? Suddenly, those eyes of attention you noticed earlier no longer seemed like admiration but instead accusation, judging you and waiting for you to make a fool of yourself.

“I think you’re cool.”

With the surprise your body felt, it might as well have taken a screenshot.

There in front of you neatly stood none other than the Jotaro figure Polnareff referred to earlier. You took a deep breath, waiting for your heart to slow down before addressing the man.

“I… Thank you. Sorry, how did you do that?”

Jotaro blinked at you, slightly shifted his footing before asking:

“Do what?”

You waved your hands around in trying to find your words.

“Like, be so quiet despite being… so big — Wait, yeah, wow, you’re huge.” As you looked up at him, your sudden realisation of the broadness of Jotaro’s shoulders caught you off guard. From further away he didn’t look that much bigger than the average person but now that he was stood right in front of you, it was a different story.

Judging from the man’s lack of answer and seemingly broody stance, you wondered if you said the wrong thing.

“Sorry, if that sounded… I didn’t mean that in a bad way.”

“I know.” He replied.

There was a pregnant pause. Yet from that pause, you realised just peaking from underneath his hat, that his face was blush red.

“I just didn’t know how to reply to that.” He finished.

Understanding his dilemma, you decided to move on from his slight blunder.

“Sit, sit.” You waved your hand in the direction of where his friend had previously say.

There was a pause in Jotaro’s movement, like he was contemplating whether to sit or not. However, he eventually lowered himself down in the chair as he sat opposite you, although his eyes couldn’t meet your own.

“I really like your style.” He breathed.

Noticing his nervous energy, you smiled warmly over at him.

“Thank you. I try, I guess.”

He glanced up at you rather quickly, a short acknowledgment before looking back down at the table.

It seemed with even being the giant that he was, his confidence was skewed when it came to talking to you. It was then you realised why he may have needed the push from his friend in the first place.

Talking about his friends, you looked past Jotaro’s shoulder to see how they were doing. The one with the red hair seemed to be disinterested, his head down, most probably at the prospects of studying. The one that came to initially introduce himself earlier only stuck a thumbs up once he noticed you watching.

Your attention moved back onto Jotaro.

“How did you get into it?” He asked, once he realised your eyes were on him again.

“Into what?”

Jotaro’s eyes looked you up and down.

“Like… How you dress.”

You made a short ‘oh’ sound but in reality you knew what he was asking of you the first time. With a short explanation, you told Jotaro how your love of certain music influenced your style and allowed you to become just that bit more confident in your personality and countenance.

From then forwards, you answered most of the questions Jotaro had for you. He didn’t seem phased about whether something he asked was too personal but still yet, you wouldn’t answer anything you wasn’t comfortable with answering.

After what seemed like a 100 questions with Vogue interview, you leaned forward onto the table.

“So, what are you intentions with me, Jotaro?”

The man was caught unaware, his eyes blinking rapidly. At least you could tell he’d gotten more comfortable with you to let his guard down.

“Huh?”

You tapped one of your black painted nails on the table, your smile unassuming.

“Well, I mean you’ve come over here and basically interrogated me but is that all you really came for?”

The man took a deep breath, both of his hands gripping at the table as he leaned back in thought.

“I’m not sure.” He shrugged.

With a credulous look, your face scrunched dejectedly in Jotaro’s direction.

“What do you mean you’re not sure? Your friend told me you thought I was cool.”

Unintentionally, your mouth formed into a pout. Upon seeing this, Jotaro couldn’t help but let a breath of air pass through his nose in form of a laugh.

“Isn’t that the first thing I told you?” He bemused.

Narrowing your eyes at the man, you looked side to side, considering his argument. Did he really not come for anything else?

“Yeah, but…” You started.

“I think you’re cool. That’s the only reason why I came over here.” Jotaro cut you off. “However, my intentions?”

Sucking in a short noise, Jotaro could only slightly smirk in your direction.

“Confidential, but you’ll find out soon enough.”

Seeing his light expression, you could only scoff playfully over at him, rolling your eyes in the process.

“Oh, you’re such a tease.” You muttered, albeit your smile said else wise.

The Irritable Bowel Showdown competitors have been decided!!!

Thank you for your patience, everyone! The participants have been chosen, the bracket has been tentatively created, and preparations for Round One are underway!!!

Thank you for the feedback on my poll about the number of participants. Although the option for accepting further submissions had the most support, after narrowing down the eligible participants to 102, I decided it would be best to continue with the current number so the tournament could begin! As a result, some characters with a higher seeding will automatically move to the second round to accommodate the awkward number of competitors.
