Karl Jobst is grifting for clout and money

So, Karl Jobst is basically a grifter now. His latest video on Billy Mitchell says that he lost even though they both settled out of court.

On this archived thread on /v/, most (though not all) of the anons are roasting his latest video for debunking a lawyer who took a neutral stance on the situation and even agreed with Karl on a few things. Karl took that to mean that he had an agenda against on Reddit and made this video where he debunks him. What made matters worse was that even before the video was published, fans of Karl proceeded to brigade his video and community posts with insults and demanding to take the video down, which he made private shortly after Karl's video went up for an hour or so. Karl told people not to harass Moon Channel (The lawyer in question) in a pinned comment after he privately apologized to Karl, but the damage was done. Even after Moony made an apology post on his community tab, his fans have questioned his credibility as a lawyer.

And then I found this on Tumblr today:

Shout out to @saltyfilmmajor because if this is true... holy shit... Karl's basically biting off more that he can chew and everything regarding his Billy Mitchell videos could be used as evidence by Billy Mitchell himself to bring him down in a court of law. Yikes!

i've had moon channel videos on as background noise while i draw today... moon channel apparently only has 100k subscribers, i thought it was way more. i like him as bg noise because he talks about video games and he has a nice voice.

anyways, he's a cishet guy and normally you have to brace for impact a little when cishet male youtubers talk about women and trans people. moon channel is interesting because he has a level of respect for both women and trans people that i have not seen from other youtubers. he feels very safe? his video on why there are so few good girl-focused games is a very well put together history video, but he also speaks about primarily girly interests with immense respect and love, and it never feels like he's getting defensive about his own interests. there are a lot of male youtubers that could make that video while being respectful to girls, but very few that would be so serious about the topic while never making jokes that imply a) the interests discussed are beneath them b) the interests discussed are meant to be taken seriously, sure, but the whole topic is a bit silly to discuss from an outside perspective, right?

like, in the best way, he really feels like he's not even speaking to a female audience, he just expects everyone engaging with the video to do so with complete normalcy and understanding about gender. it's just not something i really let myself expect from cishet male youtubers. i feel like if you told him his audience was entirely women he would go 'huh. cool' and move on. also he has really good opinions on farming sims

I really want to know. Does anyone else hate the completionist drama, not bc of what the completionist did/did not do, but bc of the guys who started making videos abt it

Karl jobst had some drama like 2 years ago u can still see on reddit regarding him saying some racist shit and hanging around in nazi circles.

Someordinarygamer, at a glance, has not done anything that bad. But he's a centrist who operates a bit like moistcritcal, Aka responding to drama of the week. Also, If u don't know, american centrism is basically diet right wing, with some being waywayway more nazisish (I don't think he's as bad as jobst, but I don't trust people who say the left and the right are two sides of the same coin, links to reddit proof below). He was the kind of person to talk abt the hogwarts legacy backlash in a '""""balanced"""" way🙄

(Reddit is not the end of research obviously. Karls vibes are bad but I only felt it after a few vids. Someordinarygamer is easier to see red flags. So watch their vids if u don't trust reddit, I wouldnt blame u lmao)

Idk. Like i understand fucking holding charity money for 10 years is immoral, the company was absolutely mismanaged, and the completionist had no right claiming they were donating to various charities actively. BUT how am i supposed to trust those guys' analysis and the million other inflammatory drama channels covering it???

Has a legit lefty person talked about this in in depth, with their own research, since the completionists apology???

I know bad people can have correct takes, but I just cannot bring myself to trust their analysis. As silly as it seems, even I, when I watched half of one of their videos, noticed the e-signature issue. How much research are these guys actually doing, and are their conclusions truly reflective of all the information available?

Not trying to start shit, its just been on my mind, i guess.

EDIT: Literally like 5 hours I posted this Moon Channel said he would be covering this and I trust him a hell of a lot more. He's made major mistakes on one video that I know of, but he's owned up to them w/ links on correct resources, and hes not a fucking centrist wow. Hes also a lawyer so hes at least slightly more qualified to discuss this topic. I will update if the video seems solid

Why Do You Always Kill Gods in JRPGs?

I had this video open for like a week and only watched it today. It is really good and interesting. Here are some points I want to make:

firstly it’s really interesting that there is some media now from “western countries” that do the “kill god” the same way that japanese media does, because lets admit the abrahanic(judeo-christian) god is ripe for the taking, not for any problems with them personally but quite a lot of evangelical denominations transformed christianity in some kind cult of the capital, they twist and change whatever they can to justify capitalism and keeping things fucked up, so if you want to do a “lest kill this evil god that represents this evil system that fucks us up”most USA’s evangelical churches did half the world building for you Second the old don’t vote for those fuck ups because they gain a bit of their promised returns from keeping their side of their contract, they vote for those fuck ups because they are TOLD they will be given that stuff, and they are told that they just didn’t get it because of the lazy youth/immigrants/POC that broke the contract, “you see the contract is perfect and if we just enforce it more you will finally get your rewards, we just need to deal with these pesky kids/immigrants/POC that want more than their fair share” they say and the old people fall for it either because they don’t know better or because they are vengeful or a myriad of other reasons the result is the same we get stuck with horrible leaders

My response and comment: Yo Hamtaro games were everything as well as Pokemon, but the game I most loved was Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced for the Gameboy Advance. When asked why, I loved going into a new world, magic and job classes I could continually get more powerful with, and of course--the dynamics of the characters and how their relationships and story arcs grew as you played and took on stronger challenges. I love games now like Bravely Default for the same reasons. I think men are starting to want those kinds of games that girls like too, and the market is shifting somewhat for these genres. Thank you for your wonderful review! I think story, characters that have growing bonds between one another, and gaining strength/powering up to compete and complete a task is the core of what I would say is "What I like to play." but I can't lie and say I don't love dress-up games either XD Customization is KEY because I like bright and happy things, but I also love drama and dynamic, emotional setups in games as well! Hope that helps any research of women and gaming~<3 I also do love pet or monster collecting games too, haha XD Also Sonic and Chao Garden cough cough

Can you believe it's been 7 years already? Seven whole years... And I got to meet SO many wonderful people thanks to this comic and gained SO much experience from it, especially through the Comic Dub I recorded, directed and published last year!

No really, it's incredible to think how much of an influence this fancomic had on my life in every aspect and I am incredibly grateful for how much it helped me grow, both as an artist and a person, and how I got to build a wonderful community of both fans and friends through it over the years! 🥹🥰💖💕 Originally I wanted to plan a Livestream for today and draw something a bit more extravagant, but unfortunately like many others I'm currently sick with a harsh whooping cough 🤧😷😔
